@kodedgeekthings eyo you mentioned wanting a dpxdc prompt for Howard, Batman’s mechanic!
Harold misses fixing toys for kids and in his off hours has taken up the habit of answering questions on forums about machining, electrical, engineering, mechanics, and mechanical design that are often frequented by students.
One day, he comes across a request by a college student who is trying to assemble his own car out of scrap he bought from a local wrecking yard.
Ghostly_Boy states that he has previous experience in machining and can make replacements for broken or too-damaged parts if need be, but he doesn’t know where to start and what specific requirements he needs to reach to ensure it’s street legal.
Harold willing to help, he answers a few of Ghostly Boy’s clarifying questions:
- Great questions!
It’s good to note that if you’re not careful, fixing or making your own car from parts can be a moneysink and can cost you more than a brand new vehicle. - That being said, your first major step to ensuring you can drive the car is to get the title of the body/frame of the car you plan to build. It’ll have the VIN on a plate welded to the frame usually near the lower edge of the windshield wipers on the drivers side. It’s how the DMV identifies vehicles for licensing.
- Generally, you’ll at first get a “wreck out” title that shows the vehicle is listed as a total loss, but if you can assemble the parts for the car with that frame, the DMV can check if it’s properly running and road worthy & license for you to use it on public roads if you’ve done the proper paperwork.
- Once that is done, it’s largely a case of getting the right parts and assembling them. Depending on how much you have to repair, you could be taking on a task that could give a challenge to even a seasoned mechanic. There may be additional paperwork depending on what exactly you need to repair, like the breaks, lights, steering, etc.
- If you want to build the car entirely from scratch, chassis and all, that’s an entirely different story with a much more complicated list of requirements to make it street legal, so getting a frame from a junkyard is a great first step!
- Make sure to keep all bills of sale, junkyard receipts, invoices and manufacturers’ certificates on any major parts you used in building the vehicle to prove its road worthy to the DMV when it’s complete!
Harold doesn’t always answer first but over time he’s found the adventures of this kid amusing and keeps up with it.
Ghostly_Boy keeps the forum updated with his progress:
The kid spontaneously deciding to scrap the wiring system and make his own in a span of 3 days, leaving experienced mechanics on the forum practically screaming at the kid for his updates showing him using random wires he salvaged and pigtailing them together to get the length of wire he needed.
Mixing not only multiple types of wires but ones that didn’t have the protection needed for auto use. DIY-ing his own relay and fuses he didn’t have and connecting the wrong grounds and switches. And planning on leaving the wires unwrapped and loose.
Leaving Ghost to promptly redo the wiring, correctly this time, within 78 hours.
Making a repair of a massive rusted hole on the passenger side by the bumper and the front tire via cutting 1/2in past the rust, grinding it pretty and clean, tac & seam welding the vintage aluminum housing material of a toaster to cover the hole to the response of Harold and many others in the forum just going “… I guess that would work?”
Harold and many others telling the kid that this “ectoplasm” material wasn’t cleared through the EPA’s Clear Air Act and could be illegal to drive with it as it’s fuel source unless he got the emissions tested & the center of gravity of the car adjusted to have the center of gravity a gas car has, it wouldn’t pass Federal Motor Vehicle Safety Standards. Nor would the previously untested on material make it easy or quick to get an Emissions testing certificate. Best to just stick with gas.
Removing what he thought was a “skid plate” that turned out to be another rusted out section on the frame on the bottom of his car and repairing it with steel he salvaged from an old medical table he had laying around. (To the multiple slightly confused commenters asking how Ghost had a spare medical table, he replied, “eh, my folks visit every so often and they’ve been giving me things they’re clearing out of the house so they can move closer to my older sister. I just so happened to get the ye olde medical table. They’re an odd couple of folks but that’s why I love them.”)
People just crying at the kid to go to rockauto.com and just buy the damn parts he needs for his car. (A good resource btw)
The kid kept cutting corners to save cash but through the badgering of Harold and many others that he actually would have to spend money to make this car be safe to drive in, he finally got it completed.
Ghost’s post of him leaving DMV waving the updated title to the car in its envelope in the air, titled, “THE DMV FINALLY SAID IT WASN’T A FIRE HAZARD! ONLY TOOK 2 YEARS! THANKS EVERYONE!” Got the most amount of responses he’d ever had with congratulations from lurkers and previous commenters.
Over the course of those two years, Danny learned how to draw his own wiring diagrams, properly solder and weld, and learning to actually plan out his projects so he got it right at least the fifth time instead of the 20th. Not bad for a kid that went straight from graduating high school with a 1.5GPA to construction jobs.
But after finally getting the car approved, Ghostly_Boy returns to the forum with a new problem. Lamenting that his parents keep coming over and “modifying” his car to no longer make it street legal.
At this point, about half of the answers to the submission think it’s either a joke project taken very, very seriously with a good chunk of money behind it, or a kid with parents that have narrowly avoided falling completely down the mad scientist rogue rabbit hole.
After all, what sort of parent would think that the DMV would approve to “anti-ghost missiles” being attached to the outer body of the car? Either way, the submissions always had video attached showing a demonstration, proving that Ghost wasn’t just completely yanking their chain. And a good amount of money would have to be sunken in to not only pay for the fines Ghostly continued to get from the additions to his car, but to actually manufacture and make a unique working product for each plea for help request.
Harold is not only taking notes on some of these defense measures but also decides to bring up the boy to Alfred. Intrigued, they together keep an eye on Ghostly_Boy. Bruce may be their employer, but they can handle a case or two on their own.
- I wanted Danny to try to make smth for himself now that he doesn’t have access to his parent’s lab anymore but he also doesn’t have access to ectoplasm so he’s fairly unfamiliar how to wire things Not for ectoplasmic standards.
Also I wanted to make a prompt where Danny had a good relationship with his parents & went into a fairly realistic job after high school with his fairly bad GPA so he’s saving up for a technical school via construction jobs as he doesn’t like the idea of working fast food for understandable reasons.

1981 Cadillac Evolution I
Fashion Victim: The 1981-83 Pierre Cardin Evolution I
French-Italian designer Pierre Cardin found worldwide fame with his exuberant approach to women’s fashion, but the skills didn’t necessarily cross over to the automotive world.
The creator of mod chic and the bubble dress, Pierre Cardin (1922-2020) first made his name as a ladies’ fashion designer—one who then aggressively extended his brand marketing into consumer goods of all kinds, from perfume to sunglasses and eventually, automobiles. For American Motors he designed the 1972 Cardin Javelin with its memorable neon-striped upholstery, and in 1978 he whipped up a line of specially trimmed Cadillacs. But easily the wildest of his automotive enterprises was a customized Cadillac Eldorado called the Evolution I.
Tumblr media
Cadillac Cardin Convertible
As we can see above, the most remarkable feature of Cardin’s restyled Eldorado is its  radically extended nose, which was facilitated in part with fenders and bumpers borrowed from the Oldsmobile Toronado, the Eldo’s GM E-body sibling. It’s an odd look, especially given the front-drive E-Body’s relatively short dash-to-axle distance.
The rear end styling was rearranged in a similarly arbitrary manner, with the Eldorado’s classic vertical taillights replaced with a slim horizontal lamp assembly that spanned the width of the body. Cardin’s sales literature boasted of “30 coats of hand-rubbed lacquer” and other fineries.
Tumblr media
1981 Cadillac Evolution I
Luxury upgrades to the interior included elaborate two-tone leather upholstery, front and rear consoles, and a Quasar video player with a Sony TV in the rear seat. Pierre Cardin Automotive originally planned to produce 300 examples of the Evoluution I, with a gold plate on the instrument panel to testify to the serial number. But reportedly, only around 100 vehicles were delivered in the 1981-83 model run, including one Hess & Eisehnart convertible conversion. One likely reason for the limited popularity, we theorize, was the price: a hefty $58,000, more than three times the cost of a standard Cadillac Eldorado. As far as we know, this would be the fashion maven’s final foray into the automobile business.

Ferrari 365 GTB/4 Daytona (very first) Prototype by Scaglietti
In the late 1960s, it seemed as if the performance car world was at a crossroads. With the introduction of Lamborghini’s P400 Miura and its revolutionary mid-engined design, some thought this design would be the future for the upper echelons of performance cars, and that front-engined cars would begin to fade from popularity.
Spurred on by the success of the Miura, Ferrari knew that the replacement of the 275 GTB/4 needed to be something spectacular and new in order to take the fight to Lamborghini. Rather than move to a mid-engined format, it was decided that the front-engined V-12 platform would remain, alongside coachwork penned by Pininfarina. Quite simply, if it works for you and your clients, why go about reinventing the wheel? After all, this is what Ferrari had built their reputation on, and there was no one better at building twelve-cylinder, front-engined GT cars than Ferrari. They were not to be outdone by this team of renegades at Lamborghini, headquartered just down the road from Maranello!
Chassis number 10287 was the genesis of that new model of Ferraris and the Scuderia’s fighting back against the Lamborghini and the Miura. At first glance to the casual observer, the car offered here seems to tread the line between a 275 GTB/4 and a 365 GTB/4 Daytona. Visual cues to both can be seen and some design elements seem to have blended together, but this car is far more than a design study to determine Ferrari’s future. A total of six 365 GTB/4 prototypes would be built, but this example, as the first, remains the most recognizable, the most unique, the most significant, and is undoubtedly the most desirable.
Chassis number 10287 is that of a Tipo 596 chassis, the same type which was used for the 275 GTB/4, made of tubular steel and a wheelbase measuring 2,400 mm (a wheelbase length shared by both 275 GTB/4 and 365 GTB/4). At its heart is a completely unique Lampredi engine, one that would not be seen in any other Ferrari road car at the time. Designated Tipo 243 internally, it is fitted with dry sump, three-valve heads rather than the usual four valves per cylinder, dual ignition, twin spark plugs per cylinder, and is topped with six Weber 40 DCN18 carburetors. The block itself is based on that of a 330 GT but has been bored out to 4,380 cc. What is worth noting about this completely unique and radically redesigned engine is that it bears similarities to the engines found in the 330 P4 prototype racers, the race car that won numerous races and earned its place in the history books after their memorable 1-2 finish with a 412 P coming in third at the 1967 24 Hours of Daytona. These racing cars also have double inlet valves with one exhaust valve per cylinder.
Aesthetically, the design in front of the windshield was similar to that of a 275 GTB/4, albeit with a slightly stretched and flattened nose, still boasting covered headlights and a bonnet with a central bulge similar to a 275 GTB/4. The shape of the tail section of the bodywork is instantly recognizable to anyone familiar with a Daytona, utilizing 275 GTB/4 boot hinges and a full-width rear chrome bumper. Chassis number 10287's side profile is most evocative of the production Daytona, and allegedly what Enzo Ferrari loved most about this particular prototype, featuring a near identical rear ¾ section and roofline. Looking at the nose and bonnet, similarities can be seen between this and Jaguar’s E-Type.
Once completed in early 1967, 10287 saw extensive factory testing at the Modena Autodrome over the course of that year. It was first registered on May 8, 1968, wearing Italian number plates ‘Roma B 85391’ through the official Ferrari dealer in Rome, Motor S.a.s. di Carla Allegretti e C, noting a sales price of 8,000,000 Italian Lira. It is interesting to note that, at the time, this was similar in price to a new 275 GTB/4, but by that time, the production version of the 365 GTB/4 Daytona had yet to be introduced, this being about five months before the 1968 Paris Auto Salon.

If Wes count, Wes 🤦
Wes gets a taste of his own medicine by dealing with a Karen. 😹 (The call center names and individuals names have been changed, but this is STRONGLY based on a true story from my years as a call center agent.) Here's the link to play!
-
Wes' parents were fine with buying his first (and second) camera. They were fine with paying for the photography lessons (which kept him from stalking observing Danny). They were even fine buying him a (used) ghost-proofed laptop from their neighbor who could no longer use it, on account of being a ghost.
They drew the line at a car. Which he needed, because Fenton was starting to branch out, and if he could get proof, nobody would think he was crazy anymore, and-
Well. Moot point. If he wanted a car of any kind, he had to do the same thing his brother did- cough up half up front, and have a steady job that paid enough for gas, registration, and insurance.
It was, admittedly, a more than fair deal. As long as they didn't have to pay more than $3,000 total, they were fine with whatever car he wanted to buy.
The GAV II from the Fentons cost considerably more than he could afford, but there was a scratched-up used Jeep with offroad tires for sale, which would work. And that led him here: Sunrise Telecom.
Sunrise was a callcenter in what was, decades ago, a large train warehouse. It also didn't care that he was 'that crazy stalker kid'- as long as he did his job well and made sales, nobody gave a damn.
He clocked in, sat down, and opened up the sites he needed. Immediately, the phone beeped with an incoming call. "Thank you for calling Custom Plates, your home for all plate customization needs. This is Wesley speaking on a recorded line, how can I help you?'
"Hi, is this where you order vibrators?"
The- what- what?!?!? "No sir, we customize license plates and sell accessories like bumper stickers and plate frames."
"Oh. Wrong number, sorry."
"That's ok, we get it all the time. Can I interest you in-" Click. Sadly enough, they did get that all the time, though it was Wes' first time hearing it.
The phone beeped again after he added notes and dispositioned. "Thank you for calling Custom Pla-"
"I want to speak with a manager!"
Ah. One of those.
"Okay, ma'am, I'll see what I can do. For now, can you please tell me what's going on? It's company policy to-"
"I don't care! I want to speak with a manager, you little moron!"
He scribbled his manager's name on a small whiteboard amd held it up as the woman started telling him exactly what was wrong with his generation. It was taken from him and returned, with 'she's @ lunch' on the bottom. Oh no.
"Ma'am, I'm sorry but my manager is in a meeting and won't be available for at least an hour. Is this something I could help you with? I can pull up your order for you and see what is going on."
"You stole my money!"
He raised an eyebrow. "If you'll provide me an order number, I'll be happy to give you the status of your order. If something has been delayed further than the originally estimated date, we can offer a partial refund. I do also need to let you know this is a recorded line," he offered.
She hissed, and he fought a giggle. Did she really think that was scary? He was from Amity Park. "I want a full refund, now!"
"We're only able to offer that in specific conditions, and l'll have to look up your order first."
"Let me talk to your manager, you little pissant," she snapped.
He raised the sign again. This time, it was returned with a frowny face. "I'm sorry, ma'am, she is still in that meeting. Is there something I can help you with?" Damn that one-call-resolution company policy!
She shouted and hung up. Finally. He muted himself and started taking notes to disposition.
Beep! Beep!
"Hi, thank you for calling-"
"I swear to God I will sue you if you give me the run around like that last kid."
Wes put his head in his hands. "Hello ma'am, this is Wesley on a recorded line. Our manager is currently busy, but I'll be happy to help you! Can I have your order number please?"
After 5 minutes (he counted) of complaints, she finally provided it. "Thank you, and who am I speaking with?"
"What?"
"I have to confirm the name on the order before I can discuss anything due to privacy laws."
"Karen. Schmidt." The words sounded ground out, but matched the order.
"Thank you, Ms. Schmidt. I'm showing your order was delivered on October 1st, and you signed for it. Was there something wrong with the order?"
"You can't see that!"
Not a denial, he noted. "I am looking at it now, ma'am. Is your address still 718 Crossgrove, Apartment C6, Paulson, Illinois?"
"Yes," she agreed after a moment. "But I didn't sign for it!"
"I can send a ticket to your local post office and make sure nobody signed for you," he said, "and it should take 2-3 business days to hear back. After that, we'll be able to-"
"The plates are broken," she said, and finally they were getting somewhere!
"I'm sorry to hear that! Can you please describe the damage, and if they were already damaged when you opened the box?"
"They've got this black box around them, and you can't see the whole design," she said, "and I'm not paying for broken ones."
Black box? Wait. "Is it shiny, and does it feel rubbery? The black stuff?"
"Yes, it's wrong!'
"Right. So that's just the protective covering. It protects the edges of the plates from damage and cracking. All you have to do is pull it off, and-"
"I'm the customer, you should do that for me!"
Was she asking him to drive an hour away? To unwrap her 'Best Grandma' plate?
"Unfortunately, we're not allowed to do that due to the risk of the edges breaking during shipping. However, it's easy to do, just-"
"Are you saying I'm stupid?!"
"No ma'am, I'm just providing instru-"
"I hope you get fired!"
How mad would they be if he just hung up?
She continued to rant, and he finally interrupted. "Ma'am, on the back there's a tab that says pull here. Just pull it."
She spluttered unhappily. "So?! It came off, I still want my refund!"
"Right. So go ahead and ship it back, we'll send you a label. Once we get the plate back, we can process a 50% refund since it isn't actually broken."
"But I want the plate."
Before he could stop himself, his patience long gone, he snapped, "that's not how Capitalism works. Send it today, we can get up to 50% back. Keep the plate for longer than 10 days, no refund. Keep in mind, it's already been 9."
She spat filth at him and hung up. He took notes and dispositioned.
His manager walked in. "Hey, did I miss anything?"
Wes groaned. Was that what he sounded like to Danny and his friends? An idiot who wouldn't listen to anything?
Beep! Beep!
"Hi, thank you for calling Custom Plates, your home for all plate customization needs. This is Wesley speaking on a recorded line, how can I help you?"
"Do you allow cusswords? I want one that says 'Go fuck yourself, cheating asshole."
"Afraid not, but we can leave a space and you can write in the missing letter."
If he survived today, he was going to be so. Much. Nicer.

1972 ALPINE A110 BERLINETTE 1600S The Alpine 1600s 17965 series is of the 1600VC type, i.e. it is equipped with the 1605cc engine which has allowed an approval extension that can allow the 1800cc engine to be approved in group 4 for the brand's racing models!
The consultation of the Alpine sales registers of the commercial department of the brand, in our possession, gives us the following indications:
The Alpine 17965 with body number 5607, yellow color, was sold on May 8, 1972 for the sum of 30,833 francs (excluding the intermediary's commission) to Mr. R., via the Renault Paris 11eme garage.
It is therefore a first-hand car for 51 years! She also wears her three identification plates on the front apron, with their authentic rivets. The berlinette, which seems not to have ridden for several decades, is original, quite complete. It is equipped with a crank casement tank with quick-opening cap at the front, the seats and steering wheel are original as well as the rims. The bumpers are made of metal but to be completely re-chromed. The engine seems to be the one that was the car. It was not possible to see the gearbox to determine if it is a 353 (small gearbox) or a 364 (large gearbox).
Side chopsticks and scoop chopsticks are mostly present. Note that the right rear engine support has been removed to be replaced by a tie rod, and that the right rear of the chassis and wheel arch appear to have been greatly modified.
This Alpine which is the most sought-after model, very close to the origin apart from this rear transformation, wears a very desirable color (yellow RDL) not available on the alpine NG sold by Alpine in 2023! However, to regain the state in which Mr. R. had perceived his berlinette in 1972 in Paris, it will be necessary to give him a total restoration, in particular by detaching the chassis to place it on a marble, restore it and sand it.
The copy of the Alpine sales register of 17965 will be provided to the buyer.

LEGO Optimus Prime
I’ve been building more Lego lately. Mostly stuff from their Botanical Collection so I can display them around the house, but I also did a chess set. It’s been fun; it’s very different from building a model kit in the way that you’re working within a seemingly simple closed system, and seeing how the designers are able to work with it to create much more dynamic shapes than the typical bricks you start with. Optimus was one I had heard people talking about, and it sounded like a fun build, so it’s my first foray into bigger kits since I was a kid, and it turned into a pretty fun afternoon.
Not entirely sure how to review Lego in terms of build quality, but I enjoyed it overall. There were some neat tricks, and the way they did an upgraded version of the G1 transformation within the Lego system is very interesting. It can fully transform without needing to come apart at all, which is very cool.
And he very big!
You also build a few accessories. You get his Energon Axe (neat), an Energon Cube (meh), a display piece (ok), his Ion Blaster (very cool), a jetpack (sure), and an alternate crotch plate that looks more like a truck bumper.
As for downsides, I’d say his neck and waist can be a little loose, and he has no knees, but I can understand why for stability reasons.
Overall, a very interesting and fun build, I’d say especially so if you’re typically a model kit person like me as it’s a very different way of creating the same general idea. It is expensive (I even got mine on sale, and it was still whoof), but if you can find it at a price you like, I’d say you’ll enjoy yourself.

2024 Hyundai Alcazar Launched In India At ₹ 14.99 Lakh: Price, Specs, Features
Hyundai India has launched an updated avatar of its 7-seater SUV - Alcazar. The Creta-based 3-row SUV was long due for a mid-cycle refresh. The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar facelift is launched at a special introductory starting price of ₹ 14.99 lakh for petrol variants and ₹ 15.99 lakh for diesel variants. It will continue to take on its existing set of rivals - Tata Safari, Mahindra XUV700, MG Hector, Citroen C3 Aircross, Kia Carens and more. In the last few months, the Alcazar has been a dull seller. The update, however, is expected to add some more numbers to the SUV's monthly sales tally.
Tumblr media
The 2024 Hyundai Alcazar isn't just a stretched-out Creta, in terms of its looks. It opts for a bold-looking design theme, comprising of a rather butch-looking front facet with H-shaped connected LED DRLs, a large radiator grille, and a wide scuff plate.
Around the sides, the big change is the addition of new 18-inch diamond-cut alloy wheels, bigger rear quarter windows, black-painted cladding, and bridge-type roof rails. The rear face of the Alcazar is also heavily tweaked with the use of a new spoiler, a reworked bumper, and a fresh design for the skid plate. It also gets connected LED taillamps with sequential turn indicators.
As for the dimensions, the Alcazar is 4,560 mm in length, 1,800 mm wide, and 1,710 mm tall. In comparison to the outgoing model, the 2024 Alcazar is 60 mm longer, 10 mm wider, and 35 mm taller. The wheelbase remains unaltered at 2,760 mm.
On the inside, the big change on the 2024 Hyundai Alcazar is a new dashboard layout, which is borrowed from the facelifted Creta. The cabin is now upholstered in new shades - noble brown and haze navy. The dual-tone treatment gives a premium appeal to the overall cabin.
Besides, the 6-seater variant now features ventilated second-row seats with folding armrests, which improve the accessibility to the third-row. Unique thigh extenders are a key highlight of the Alcazar's interior.
The bold new Hyundai Alcazar will be offered in 9 colours with 8 mono-tone options including the new Robust Emerald Matte, Titan Grey Matte, Robust Emerald, Starry Night, Ranger Khakhi, Fiery Red, Abyss Black, Atlas White, and 1 dual-tone colour option available in Atlas White with Black Roof.

New BYD Song Pro is ready for China with 5-gen DM system
The all-new BYD Song Pro was revealed by the Chinese regulator (MIIT). This mid-size crossover adopts the brand’s signature Dragon Face design language and the fifth-generation DM plug-in hybrid powertrain. – Advertisement – The updated BYD Song Pro DM-i (image resolution enhanced by AI) The first information about the Song Pro appeared online in February 2024. According to the leaked BYD product planning, the company scheduled the launch of this model for July 2024. Later, the new Song Pro was seen in China during road tests wearing heavy camouflage. And today, the BYD applied for the sales license of this SUV. As a result, its core specs were exposed. BYD Song Pro exterior and dimensions The outline of the BYD Song Pro stays in line with the old model (see specs). For example, it has a distinctive line that crosses its body from head to tail. The Song Pro has the same plastic trim around the lower part of the body, and a slightly slanted roofline. From the side, it is hard to tell it is a really new model. However, it is all about the front end. – Advertisement – The new Song Pro adopts the Dragon Face design language with two thin headlights joined by a chrome-plated element with 宋 (Song) hieroglyph. Its front bumper has a sizable trapeze-shaped grille and sporty air intakes. The front ‘mask’ of the Song Pro forms an X-shaped design. The BYD Song Pro didn’t change much from the back. It still has a single taillight unit. But the “Build Your Dreams” inscription under that taillight was replaced by a simple BYD badge. The Song Pro also has a more minimalistic rear bumper. According to the regulator’s filling, the new Song Pro measures at 4735/1860/1710 mm with a wheelbase of 2712 mm. So, it is 3 mm shorter than the old model. Its front and rear tracks are 1565 mm. The new Song Pro has approach and departure angles of 18 and 22 degrees, respectively. Front and rear overhangs are 1008 mm and 1015 mm. – Advertisement – BYD Song Pro specs The BYD Song Pro adopts the BYD’s fifth-gen DM powertrain system. It has a 1.5-liter naturally-aspirated BYD472QC engine for 74 kW (99 hp) paired with a TZ210XYB 160 kW (215 hp) synchronous permanent magnet electric motor made by BYD. The new Song Pro has an LFP Blade battery on board made by BYD subsidiary FinDreams. Its capacity reaches 18.3 kWh, suitable for 93 km of range. This pack is also quite heavy at 181 kg. As a result, the curb weight of the new BYD Song reaches 1765 kg. However, it is 15 kg lighter than the old Song Pro with an 18.3 kWh battery. It is worth mentioning the old model also has less range – 85 km (WLTC). The old BYD Song Pro DM-i According to a registration filling, BYD can assemble the new Song Pro at factories in Changsha, Hefei, Jinan, Zhengzhou, and Shenzhen. The old model is assembled in Jinan and Zhengzhou. The new Song Pro will make its official debut this month. Its price range will be 110,000 – 150,000 yuan (15,150 – 20,700 USD). NEW - Honda Civic Type-R FL5 Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser by APR Performance
Tumblr media
APR Performance’s Newest Innovations for the Honda Civic Type-R FL5
APR Performance has unveiled their latest aero additions for the Honda Civic Type-R FL5, further pushing the boundaries of automotive design and efficiency. The new products include a Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser and additional Carbon Fiber Rear Bumper Skirts, both designed to improve the car’s performance and aesthetics through superior engineering and high-quality materials.
Tumblr media
Honda Civic FL5 Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser
A True Track Car Finish While Actually Enhancing Stability and Performance.
The newly released APR Performance Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser for the Honda Civic Type-R FL5 is a testament to the brand’s commitment to enhancing vehicle aerodynamics. Diffusers are crucial for producing downforce, which is vital for high-speed stability and cornering. As a car moves, it displaces air and creates a vacuum of low-pressure air at the rear. The APR diffuser tackles this by channeling the high-speed airflow from beneath the car to smoothly transition into the rear vacuum. This not only reduces turbulence but also maximizes the effectiveness of other aerodynamic components, such as wings. By smoothing out the airflow under the car, the diffuser helps to decrease drag and improve overall handling and speed. See more at Vivid Racing
Tumblr media Tumblr media
Carbon Fiber Rear Bumper Skirts
Added Downforce for Precision Handling at High Speeds.
Alongside the diffuser, APR Performance has also introduced Carbon Fiber Rear Bumper Skirts specifically tailored for the Honda Civic Type-R FL5. These skirts are instrumental in aerodynamically tuning the vehicle’s handling. Constructed from lightweight yet durable carbon fiber composites, the skirts work by preventing air from rolling underneath the car from the sides. This action effectively reduces lift during high-speed maneuvers, thereby stabilizing the car during sharp turns and increasing traction. The result is faster lap times and a more responsive driving experience. See more at Vivid Racing

Conclusion: Should You Buy It?
If you’re looking to improve your FL5’s overall performance and handling capabilities, APR Performance’s latest aerodynamic components for the Honda Civic Type-R FL5 showcase a blend of sophisticated materials and advanced aerodynamic principles. While it may not be as aggressive as true Super Lap Battle aero kit efforts, it provides great performance and a jaw-dropping finish. Paired with a 67″ GT-250 Swan Neck Wing and other aero bits, this kit looks INCREDIBLE! Both the Carbon Fiber Rear Diffuser and Rear Bumper Skirts not only enhance the visual appeal of the vehicle but also contribute significantly to its performance, making the FL5 an even more formidable contender on the track and at your local cars and coffee.

Customising Your Used 4x4: Upgrades and Modifications for Off-Roading Fun
Off-roading is a thrilling and adventurous activity that allows individuals to explore rugged terrains and experience the beauty of nature. If you ‘re looking for used 4x4 for sale you should customise it for a better appearance.
Whether you're a seasoned off-roader or a beginner looking to venture into this exciting hobby, customising your used 4x4 vehicle can significantly enhance your off-road experience.
In this blog post, we will explore various upgrades and modifications that can be made to your vehicle to improve its performance, safety, and overall enjoyment.
Assessing Your Needs
Before diving into the world of upgrades and modifications, assessing your specific off-roading requirements is important. Factors such as the type of terrain you will be exploring, the weather conditions you will encounter, and the intended use of your vehicle should all be considered. By understanding your needs before searching for a used 4x4 for sale, you can prioritise the upgrades that will be most beneficial to you. Additionally, setting a budget by visiting the websites like byrneford.com.auused-cars will help you make informed decisions and avoid overspending on unnecessary modifications.
Suspension Upgrades
Enhancing your vehicle's suspension system is one of the most crucial upgrades for off-roading. A sturdy and reliable suspension is essential for tackling rough terrains and maintaining stability. Lift kits are a popular choice as they increase ground clearance, allowing your vehicle to navigate obstacles easily. Upgraded shocks can provide a smoother ride by absorbing impacts from uneven surfaces, while sway bars minimise body roll during cornering. These upgrades not only improve off-road performance but also enhance manoeuvrability and stability.
Tires and Wheels
The right tires and wheels can significantly impact your off-roading experience. Off-road tires are designed to handle various terrains, such as mud, sand, or rocky trails. They feature aggressive tread patterns that provide superior traction and grip, allowing you to conquer challenging surfaces. Additionally, larger wheels can improve ground clearance and enhance handling on rough terrain. Choosing tires and wheels appropriate for your intended off-roading activities is essential to optimise performance and safety. Search on websites like byrneford.com.auused-cars to get the proper assistance about the vehicle.
Recovery Gear
Off-roading can sometimes lead to unexpected situations, such as getting stuck in mud or encountering obstacles that require assistance. To ensure your safety and the safety of others, it is essential to carry essential recovery gear. Equipment such as tow straps, winches, and snatch blocks can aid in recovering your vehicle or helping others in need. By being prepared with the necessary recovery gear, you can navigate through challenging situations with confidence and peace of mind.
Tumblr media
Body Armor and Protection
Off-roading often involves encountering obstacles and rough terrains that can potentially damage vital components of your vehicle. Adding body armour and protection can safeguard your vehicle against potential damage. Skid plates, rock sliders, and aftermarket bumpers are popular options for protecting vulnerable areas. Skid plates shield the undercarriage from rocks and debris, while rock sliders provide additional protection to the sides of your vehicle. Aftermarket bumpers protect the front and rear of your vehicle and provide mounting options for additional accessories like winches or auxiliary lighting.
Lighting Upgrades
Proper lighting is crucial when off-roading at night or in low-light conditions. Upgrading your vehicle's lighting system can greatly improve visibility and safety. LED light bars or auxiliary lights are popular options for off-roaders as they provide excellent illumination over a wide area. Additionally, upgrading your headlights can enhance visibility on dark trails, allowing you to navigate with confidence.
Performance Enhancements
While off-roading is not solely about speed, having a vehicle with sufficient power can significantly enhance your off-road capabilities. Engine modifications such as cold air intakes, exhaust systems, and performance chips can boost power output, torque, and fuel efficiency. These upgrades can improve your vehicle's ability to conquer challenging terrains and provide a more enjoyable off-roading experience.
Interior Comfort and Convenience
Off-roading can be an exhilarating and sometimes rough experience. Enhancing the comfort and convenience of your vehicle's interior can greatly improve your overall enjoyment. Consider investing in seat covers that are durable and easy to clean, all-weather floor mats to protect your vehicle's carpet, and storage solutions to keep your gear organised. Additionally, technology upgrades such as GPS navigation systems or backup cameras can make your off-roading adventures more convenient and hassle-free.
Conclusion
Customising your used 4x4 vehicle for off-roading can significantly enhance your experience, providing you with the necessary upgrades and modifications to confidently tackle challenging terrains. You can make informed decisions and optimise your off-roading adventure by assessing your needs, prioritising upgrades, and setting a budget. From suspension upgrades to lighting enhancements, numerous options are available to suit your specific requirements. Embrace the excitement of off-roading by searching for a used 4x4 for sale and customising it, and let the adventure begin!

The 2024 Lexus GX midsize SUV is receiving a major makeover with a bold new exterior design and enhanced off-road capabilities. Most notably, Lexus is introducing an Overtrail trim tailored specifically for off-road enthusiasts. Here's an in-depth look at what we can expect from the redesigned 2024 GX: Highlights All-new blocky exterior design emphasizes ruggedness Overtrail trim adds major off-road upgrades Twin-turbo V6 engine, 349 hp and 479 lb-ft torque Standard KDSS disconnecting anti-roll bars 14-inch touchscreen with latest Lexus software On sale in early 2024, pricing not yet announced Aggressive New Styling Channels G-Wagen The most striking aspect of the 2024 GX is its radically different exterior styling. Lexus has traded the previous model's rounded look for a much boxier, angular design. The aggressive front end features a prominent grille and squared-off LED headlights. Flared wheel arches and a straight beltline give it a planted stance. Key design elements: Upright grille with bold LEXUS lettering Chiseled front bumper with skid plate Pronounced fender flares Straight crease lines along the sides Roof rails and blacked-out A-pillars This blocky styling channels the iconic Mercedes-Benz G-Wagen, emphasizing that the GX is a serious off-roader at its core. Overtrail Trim: Optimized for Off-Road Adventure The new Overtrail trim turns the GX into an overlanding beast, with enhancements including: 33-inch all-terrain tires - Maximum traction on rocks, mud, sand Rear locking differential - Dramatically improves traction Skid plates - Protects vulnerable underbody components Two-row seating - Makes room for gear storage With its advanced 4WD system, the Overtrail trim can tackle extreme trails. FAQs What are the key differences compared to the previous GX? The 2024 model brings a new twin-turbo V6, updated interior, Overtrail off-road trim, and much bolder exterior styling. When does the 2024 GX go on sale? Lexus says the new GX will start arriving at dealers in early 2024 as a 2024 model year vehicle. Will a hybrid version be offered? Yes, Lexus confirms a hybrid powertrain is coming later in the model year. Expect similar specs as the iForce MAX system in the new Tundra. What is the off-road Overtrail trim's pricetag? Pricing isn't confirmed yet, but the Overtrail will likely command at least a $5,000 premium over a comparably equipped Luxury model. Does the third row seat fold flat? Yes, Lexus will offer power-folding third row seats for maximum cargo flexibility. The Takeaway With its rugged new styling, upgraded interior, and enhanced off-road talent, the 2024 Lexus GX is poised to be more capable than ever. The Overtrail model in particular establishes the GX as a top overlanding choice. While pricing will climb, so too does the luxury, performance, and real 4x4 prowess. For serious outdoor enthusiasts not afraid to spend, the 2024 GX warrants a spot at the top of the shopping list. #Wiack #Car #CarInsurance #CarRental #CarPrice #AutoLoans
