fundraising for palestine!

if you feel pushed to help palestinians with donations after the ICJ ruling as well as the news that many western nations have paused funding for the UNRWA, i hope i can give you a little incentive.

send me a screenshot of a donation you made to a mutual aid fund or charity for palestine (here's a link to a tumblr post with a variety of different funds/charities), and i'll post a piece of cc for every $20 raised. i'll stack the amounts donated, so if four people donate $5 that'll count as one piece of cc!

Maybe I just can't make peace with the fact that Celia has a baby because I was low-key projecting on her. And I'm really all for her actually being a single mother without having to justify it or applying moral judgement to it. It's okay and even cool!

they’re calling it block party 2024. just blocking and ignoring countless celebrities who havent said shit about palestine. influencers, actors, anyone who went to the met gala, whatever, they’re getting blocked. and people keep talking about how cathartic it is, how good it feels, how they never realized they could DO that. there was some kind of subconscious law against blocking famous people, but it’s broken, and people are LOVING it. and it’s WORKING. a social media/digital advertising coordinator was talking about how ad companies are PANICKING, because they can’t accurately target anymore. so many big influencers, including fucking LIZZO started talking about palestine the MOMENT their follower counts started going down. and the best part? no one is forgiving them. lizzo posted a tiktok asking people to donate to palestinian families, and all the comments just said you’re a multimillionaire. put your money where your mouth is. blocked.

i feel like i’m witnessing the downfall of celebrity culture, right here right now. people are waking up.

Sometimes when people on the Internet are like "ADULTS CAN NEVER INTERACT WITH MINORS IT'S CREEPY" I remember how, at 12, back in 1997, I was on the Witchvox forums with people ranging from me to people in at least their 50s, and no one there was ever a creep to me, no one ever made me feel uncomfortable or asked for my personal info, and when I finally broke down after a particularly brutal day of bullying at school and posted about it they were the first adults I'd ever met in my entire life who told me the bullies were the problem and it was okay to be angry about it.

Kids need to interact with adults who will listen to them.
