She was the one villain who I thought might have turned it around. She would have faced prison, but I really thought that she was the most likely to get rehab and have that support system from Ochako as they continued to talk across the bars and Ochako would begin to understand her more. I thought there was a chance that they could have continued a relationship after the war. It wouldn't have been perfect, and toga would still have to answer for crimes committed, but, I felt optimistic that there would be at least a sort of balance or common ground they could reach. That she would actually take Ochakos offered hand.

What was the point when she dies from something so preventable?? We get one chapter of Ochako being sad, but what does it MEAN.

Idk this might just be rambling and I might think of it later BUT I am just kinda MEH on this ending with Toga being gone for real.

The impication of that maryse and valentine conversation are so many and we get so little other info on them. The biggest implication is obviously that they were really close in circle time but like how. I really wanna know. And was it Just friendship? Did it go beyond that? Doesnt seem like it was the first time he called her my maryse either. My guess is robert wasnt really there for her and valentine stepped in and was there instead. But I really want to know the details.

I agree with you a lot about how it says a lot and so little at the same time. I feel like it shows lot about valentines manipulation towards Maryse & how Maryse would have perceived it. I also think the way he manipulates Maryse IS interesting because we do know that she was a very devoted follower of him: I imagine Valentine always kept her in his good graces, she’s a very powerful ally to have. I do wanna know more about there relationship though, especially from Maryse’s point of view!

But now onto the question: was it more than platonic? Could it have been romantic? My honest answer is no I don’t think so. That is just purely based on the fact I don’t think Valentine would have dated anyone or tried to while he was with Jocelyn. And if memory stands corrected the entire time Maryse was in the circle he was with Jocelyn. I feel like the “My Maryse” could have romantic connotations to it but I just feel like there wouldn’t be any there. I think the “My Maryse” probably gave Maryse the illusion of a deep sense of belonging, and that she meant something.
