#Cadbury's chocolates

Autumn in Bournville' You have seen me use the phrase 'chocolate-box' to describe a beautiful cottage and in a recent 'Friday Five' I explained the term came from George Cadbury of Bournville who used pretty thatched cottages to decorate his chocolate boxes. So here's some scenes from the village that I previously shared a couple of years ago Pictures 1, 2 & 5 are of the beautiful Selly Manor, found in the heart of the village. This amazing, timber-crucked building dates back to at least 1327!! It was rescued from demolition in 1907 when George Cadbury, had it painstakingly dismantled, restored and moved to the centre of his Bournville village where the Cadbury Chocolate factory is today! Photo 3 is of the beautiful Rest House, situated right in the centre of the village and a few steps away from Selly Manor. Paid for by the Cadbury employees, it was built in 1913 as a gift to George Cadbury and his wife, Elizabeth to commemorate their silver wedding anniversary. The Rest House was inspired and based on a 17th century market hall in Dunster in Somerset. Today, it houses the visitor centre, full of photographs and information on the Cadbury family and a big section on the Bournville Carillon housing 48 bells, and ranks as one of the finest and largest instruments of its kind in Great Britain, which I've included as a bonus photo no 6! George Cadbury commissioned the Carillon as a gift to the Cadbury workers in 1906 after a visit to Bruges, Belgium. Photo 4 shows the lovely row of traditional shops, at the bottom of the green, including, a butcher's, a bakers, a florist and two cafes! The area is full of beautiful buildings where all the streets are named after trees, Laburnum, Acacia, Sycamore, and Willow to name a few and Selly Manor stands proudly on Maple Road! can i just say i think about lapin surviving to the sugarplum fairy fight a lot. how would brennan have handled a warlock fighting their patron. THIS specific warlock fighting THIS specific patron. would he reasonably be able to use his class features at all. and HERE i reveal my hand which is IMAGINE lapin taking a few levels of rogue on the journey. abandoning the primogen facade as the world gets more dangerous, resorting to older familiar tactics from his childhood as a thief. understanding that sometimes the greatest power is still a knife in the dark. imagine completing the arc of ruby and jet learning more about their mentors being cool and capable and respectable in lapin sharing a class with them-- having ALWAYS shared a class with them. imagine the SHENANIGANS. imagine what they could LEARN given the time and patience. imagine lapin getting dragged closer and closer to the rocks. imagine the familiarity of being on the run, all the old experience that kept you alive suddenly valuable for someone other than yourself. imagine finding yourself thankful to your brat of a past self who lived a miserable day-to-day fighting for any scrap of power-- that now you have the ability to protect the people who really matter. imagine reaching the sugarplum fairy fight and realizing she wants to fuck with your liege and your kids and your family and that suddenly your magic isn't working anymore. but that's fine. it's never been yours anyway. so you throw down the staff and pick up the knife again, the one that has always served you well, the one that doesn't just serve you, anymore, and you stab that stupid bulbically accurate semi-god in one of its several faces just like it deserves.

Figured it obligatory to do an easter rabbit thingy and rushed to get it done on time against my better judgement of taking my time. Found the old Cadbury Caramel commercials from the 1980's earlier today and was like... what if Max?

regrettably I have found a European supermarket substitute for the indefensible children’s food indulgence that is Cadbury Fingers and it is Milka Choco Thins

both biscuits have the same key features—decent milk chocolate in a thin layer on a crunchy plain biscuit without any pesky nuts or fruits or other complications: a texturally very specific, pure, call me crazy but almost meditative, eating experience with a sky high comfort food coefficient. as a bonus, each biscuit is small enough that you can legitimately eat Many at a time. this is probably because they’re designed to appeal to toddlers lmao, although i will say that the Thins have nonzero adult respectability as far as visual presentation. the biscuit part of the Thin is also very slightly grittier. it’s still a simple straightforward biscuit with similar flavor to the biscuit in the Finger. A+, maybe even a net improvement

The Cadbury creme egg isn't vegan (which is good because if it was I'd stockpile them and devour them year-round), but I'm thinking about making a vegan fudge (dates, soaked cashews, cocoa powder, and maple syrup basically, toss in a food processor, refrigerate until it sets) and devouring the resulting mostly dairy free chocolate Scotch egg once Cadbury stuff goes on sale (should be soon, as Lent starts next week).

You guys have no idea how badly I need Aguefort x Lapin to be canon. Not only do we need more Lapin content, not only is it incredibly funny for Arthur Aguefort to have multiple magical animal paramours across time and space, I need Fig and Ayda to bond over their parent's utterly insane polycules. I need Ayda to stiffly introduce Lapin as her step-father. I need him hanging out at the Compass Points and awkwardly trying to bond with his boyfriend's daughter because Aguefort may be barred from having any contact with Ayda but his hookup from another timeline isn't. I need Lapin to transfer all of his honed sinister advisor skills and experience as a babysitter of willfull princesses to being a Weird Uncle. I need Fig and Aydas' "Yeah my estranged dad showed up again in my life and now I have a weird stepdad as well" emotional bonding and discussion. I need for at their wedding the first row of seats is entirely taken up by all five Fathers Of The Bride.
