MY REVIEW
Wow!!!! This book blew me away. This is almost my favorite in the series. Each book is an intricate web of danger and each book is intertwined into one big huge web. I enjoyed each one immensely.
In this book we get more into Evanee's brother Tommy's story. We find out some more of the horrors that were inflicted upon Evanee and Tommy. And let us just say, they are horrible. So be warned this book is loaded with triggers, rape, physical and emotional abuse and kidnapping. When Tommy sees Helena his grey world becomes bright with colors and he feels a connection that cannot be denied.
Helena has just endured 10 years of abuse at the hands of the Sisters. Now her freedom is here and she doesn't know how to function. Her only mentality is survival. But then she meets the strange man and an unexplainable attraction has her scared and building walls.
This book was dark and dangerous. The story is well written and the author's lays out the storyline in perfect fashion. She does an excellent job of intertwining her stories, so you want to be sure to read them in order. Each book incorporates the story of Fearless and The Bear. Each couple has a unique and strong connection. One that saves them over and over. Each heroine has the power of dreams and a way to save those who are at the hands of evil. Each hero of the story is strong, alpha and part of the BCI working hard to keep the world safe.
These books are amazing reads and they are not PG-13. They are dark, intense and dangerous. There is true evil residing in these stories and to read the characters overcoming evil against all odds is soul lifting. It is an amazing journey. I hope there will be more in this series and they are the perfect mix of heat and mystery.

Reviews:
San Francisco Book Review – 5 stars
A Long Time Dead is the third book in the Joe Turner mystery series by T.L. Bequette. What I found interesting in this particular book is that Joe was not the main character. In fact, he only popped up here and there during the story mainly during flashbacks of him and his best friend Owen Prescott, the true main character in the book. This threw me for a bit of a loop since I have read one other Joe Turner book where he was indeed the main character and much of that book took place in the courtroom being that Joe is a Criminal Defense attorney.
A Long Time Dead starts with a scene where Owen is running from a man. In further chapters readers will learn that Owen had been arrested in 2013 for the murder of his former professor, Norvel Anendale who was filing a lawsuit against Owen for stealing his book idea. This lawsuit was one hundred percent bogus because it was Owen’s work that Anendale had wanted to collaborate on with Owen responding with, “Thanks but I think I work better alone.” This made Owen the number one suspect in Anendale’s death. The worst part is that Owen’s DNA is found at the scene of the crime.
Bequette does a thorough job of describing his characters and all of their quirks. The book is written in the third person and the reader is given the birds eye view of Owen, Margo (a love interest), and Alyssa (the FBI agent trying to find Owen). Owen’s job of a writer is less than boring as he even has a crazy stalker who he ends up filing a restraining order against.
The day before Owen is about to get convicted, he flees the country. He ends up in the small village of Tetley leaving behind his parents, girlfriend April, and best friend Joe. Living a secluded life with only Mrs. Pembroke, whom he had purchased his cottage from, around and occasionally going to the local pub, Owen is very careful about who he speaks to and is living under the name of Ancil Bradford. Then he meets Margo, a very fit, beautiful woman who he starts falling for. As Owen/Ancil’s world starts to slowly unravel and he becomes more and more suspicious of people, he feels as if he will be caught soon. This book has all the elements of a bestselling psychological thriller, with twists and turns around every corner. The characters are intriguing and all of them seem to have dark secrets. The setting is lovely and quaint. Readers will not be disappointed as every aspect of the book comes together in the end. In fact, Owen may need his very own series soon as he is just as, if not more, likable than Joe.

Cleopatra's Vendetta by Avanti Centrae
Tumblr media
About the Book:
Bari, Italy, present day. Think tank Special Ops leader Timothy Stryker and his wife Angie, a self-made CEO, haven't exactly been seeing eye-to-eye. They take a much-needed Italian holiday, but it comes to a shocking end when Angie and their daughter are kidnapped.
Still raw from the death of their infant son, Stryker is desperate to rescue Angie and reconcile their differences. As he works to locate the captors' lair, he discovers the kidnappers are behind a string of recent assassinations and attempting another high-profile hit in only seven days. But when he learns their plans for his only remaining child, the scab on his heart tears open and blood begins to spill.
Working from inside her brutal captors' high-security compound, Angie realizes the cabal is hiding an ancient secret using modern propaganda techniques. And as Stryker races hitmen across India, Egypt, and Greece to thwart the next assassination and save his family, he has to connect a series of deadly dots tracing all the way back to the time of Cleopatra. Ultimately, the estranged pair must shake the deeply-buried pillars of western civilization to save their four-year-old daughter from an unspeakable fate.

About the Author:
#1 International bestselling author who blends intrigue, history, science, and mystery into pulse-pounding action thrillers
Avanti Centrae always wanted to be a writer. Her father served as a U.S. marine corporal in Okinawa, gathering military intelligence during the first decade after the Korean War and her mom was a teacher. She grew up haunting silver bookmobiles in the Midwest but her practical family urged her to get a degree in computer technology, which she did. Eventually, she became a Silicon Valley IT executive, but her heart wasn’t in it. Before her hair began to turn gray, she had a health scare, which forced her to face her own mortality. At the top of the bucket list was becoming a bestselling author. She decided to break free of the golden handcuffs to pursue her dream. After years of drafting, editing, and finding an agent and publisher, her debut, VanOps: The Lost Power, released as an instant Barnes and Noble Nook bestseller. It went on to win three literary awards. Solstice Shadows, VanOps #2 quickly became a #1 Amazon bestseller in the U.S. and Canada, before winning a bronze medal at the Readers' Favorite book awards and nabbing the Chanticleer Global Thrillers Genre Grand Prize.
The Doomsday Medallion won an Honorable Mention at the Southern California Book Awards, was a quarterfinalist in the Publisher's Weekly Booklife contest, and was a finalist in the Book Excellence Awards. It also hit the Top 100 in the Canadian and Australian Amazon Kindle stores. Her trademark blend of intrigue, history, science, and mystery has been compared to that of James Rollins, Steve Berry, Dan Brown, and Clive Cussler. When not travelling the world or hiking in the Sierra mountains, she’s writing her next breathtaking thriller in Northern California, helped by her family and distracted by her German shepherds.

BOOK REVIEW
Tumblr media
A suspenseful, dark thriller that is sure to give you an in depth look through the eyes of a serial killer. This gruesome story is full of suspense, danger, romance and gore. So if you have a squeamish tummy then best not read this book. It is very detailed and grotesque.
Cain is an FBI profiler unlike any other. He can give agents a very detailed profile of the murderer from the crime scene. He has a unique skill set that helps him do his job unlike any other profiler in the business. He owes his unique skill set to his serial killer father. The torture and abuse he endured at his father's hand has changed him in ways you can't imagine.
Mercy is the only survivor of her family that were murdered by a serial killer. Since the day the detectives found her she has been able to sense evil thoughts. This has guided her to avoid some situations, but not all situations can be avoided and that is how she ended up in the care of a mental facility for the past two years.
Cain catches another serial killer case and it is personal this time. Someone is always watching...and when Mercy falls in his lap, life as he knows it changes. One bad thing after another Cain doesn't know if he is a monster or a savior.
This book was a nonstop read. It is dark and has many triggers. Violence, Rape, Kidnapping, and deeply disturbing situations. The characters have experienced so much trauma and have unique personalities. Just trying to survive their pasts, as they are shadowed with the past others try to exploit them making their futures dark and dim.
This is the fourth book by this author I have read and I have to say her books are very well written. She is a master at writing suspenseful horror. She creates the best strange and unusual worlds and characters. Her story telling is really detailed and highly addictive. Her stories draw you in and you can't put the books down. This is another wonderful example for all you fans of horror.
