while i get where this comes from and it’s true to an extent, i reeeaaaally don’t like how people try to explain “trans men don’t [necessarily] have male privilege” with things like “some trans men don’t pass”.

like sure that’s the most obvious example (someone who is seen as a woman won’t have the privilege that comes with being seen a man) but you’re still acting like being a passing trans man is just a free opt-in to male privilege which is………kinda the issue.

something that’s been bugging me all day: how would you teach perspective drawing in a society that existed entirely within, say, a varied-gravity spaceship? so much of how we understand perspective is based on the existence of the horizon and our relationship to it. what if there’s no horizon? vanishing points as a concept depend on having a ground to be parallel or perpendicular to.

I started this back in February, but it’s been very on and off working on it due to life stuff lol. But I finally finished, so even though I’m not totally happy with it, I am glad I was able to finish it despite everything! Might redraw/expand the idea sometime, because I do like how silly it is, but for now here is this :]

Also extra info on what’s going on in the drawing itself! Donnie keeps score, here April and Raph are going over the current scores with him. Meanwhile, Mikey and Leo are having a match, and despite Leo’s attempts, Mikey is focused on winning lol (also the other Xs and Os are there, they’re just blocked by Mikey and I got too lazy to draw them).

Ferrari seem like they are planning to restructure their engineering team. Source.

The restructuring of the engineering department at Ferrari taking things in a more modernized direction copying a system similar to Mclaren is probably the best direction the team can take. No single head technical officer, instead a team of 3-4 engineers who can have an open collaborative environment.

We have been wanting to see the team modernize in their approach and it seems that they have been thinking similar things. Something has to change. And with all the talk around Newey that wasn't really going to be a change. That was going to be bringing in an engineer to the same team structure (I already talked about why I don't think Newey would work at Ferrari and why it made sense they didn't try harder for him)

Centering your entire technical team around one man and his ideas is great, and it works when it works, but it can leave a team vulnerable if that man is wrong (humans tend to be wrong from time to time) or leaves. Look at how quickly Red Bull has been collapsing after only losing a few key personnel. They built their success as a team around his aerodynamics, and look how quickly it crumbles when he leaves or gets ignored(and thus is one of the reasons he left)

People really panned Ferrari saying they "fumbled Newey" and that he was the only way they'd be able to bring the team back. When I strongly disagree. We need a complete team, not one person. And we also need new ideas, and a structure that will serve the team long term. Newey is one man who would eventually retire and where would that leave Ferrari? Back at square one.

Having a multi headed team will allow for more ideas and cross examination to happen and likely create a much stronger engineering team and structure for the long term of the team.

If this is the direction Ferrari are taking things then I am feeling more optimistic because I have been wanting to see a change like this for a while.

Sometimes I see people on other sites getting so genuinely ANGRY about wrestling and it reminds me that it truly is not that serious, so for anyone who needs it here is a reminder: if you're not having fun, take a break! For five minutes, for a day, for however long you need! That can mean taking a break from engaging with it on social media or taking a break from wrestling itself if you're finding it makes you more frustrated than it does happy. If you find yourself getting upset or angry about people's opinions on professional wrestling, take a step back and put down the phone/laptop/whatever every now and then so you don't end up hating something you used to love, especially if it's because you've been seeing too much negativity about it. For example I'm gonna spend the next hour or so working on drawing a dungeons and dragons character I'm figuring out because when I find myself getting a little bit Too Online for me personally it's good to try and use that energy to create something

Idk who needs to hear this, but in the event Jinx and Viktor do partner up, Jinx is the more normal one of the two. Imo people in Zaun LIKE Jinx better than Viktor. Viktor's association with Jinx alone is damage control for his reputation.

If you think about it for even 10 seconds, you'd see how Viktor is just an offputting dude. Yeah Jinx has volatile outbursts of destruction, but that's concentrated at specific people and at Piltover. Jinx isn't out here performing strange feats of blood magic that turns innocent bystanders (Sky) to dust. Jinx dealing with hextech recognizes it's dangerous (it connects to the realm of Heebie Jeebies) and is hesitant with it. Viktor knows he doesn't know what he's doing and just keeps going. That's worse, that's so much more dangerous.

You could say that Viktor's well-meaning and eventually develops a cult following from it. But one, Jinx has a cult too, and it's more successful (they steal real estate). Two, Viktor's time in Piltover has really skewed what needs to be done. At best, as a part of the hextech duo, Viktor might have improved workplace safety with his inventions, maybe, but not really. He wants to help Zaun, but he's lost the plot in the frenzy of Piltover's trade expansion.

Ironically, Jinx almost certainly has a better handle on understanding Zaun's politics and issues than Viktor ever did. Jinx spent her formative years at the top of Zaun's hierarchy while being raised by the defacto kingpen/political leader and actively enforced Silco's regime as well. So Jinx knows who and what's up in Zaun because she kind of made it happen, lol.

Tldr: Between Viktor and Jinx, Jinx is the more charismatic and likable figure to Zaunites. Take a step back and notice how Viktor is an extra level of weird compared to Jinx.

not to be on my physical regression bs again but can we pleeeeaaaase imagine chris somehow getting turned back into a pudgy toddler with chubby cheeks and little hands that cling onto anyone who's gentle with him and who flinches whenever anyone's too loud or moves unexpectedly around him and the entire cast is taking turns holding him when he asks to be picked up and wondering how anyone in the world could be cruel to this tiny little thing.......

so im about 60 episodes into Ranma 1/2. Im gonna say, I struggle to grasp what it is that has kept me locked in. So here a post of me trying to figure it out...

A lot of the jokes just dont land for me. (i dont think "X is mistaken for perv" or "X is a perv" are funny jokes, and thats feels like its a good... 70-80% of the humour) And for an IP that's all about the Shipping.... well... The ships... all suck, i dont ship anything but "Ranma X therapy" and "Happosai X A Grizzly Death". I came in expecting Rankane to be one of those "slow-burn" where you'll eventually grow to see them like eachother even if you dont ship it at the start... but im 60 episodes in and they despise eachother nine-times out of ten. Shampoo had a brief moment where i thought her and Ranma were gonna bond over their alienation from society, from their respective reclusive upbringings. But like... nothing ever comes of them. Shampoo never gets to be more then "The Clingy Murder-Happy One". Ranma and Ukyo are... well the problem there is that Ukyo is in a total of 4-5 episodes (so far), and only matters in 3 of those. Her and Ranma at least like eachother as people though so... thats good, best ship by default. But "the one he likes as a person" means her very presence kind of... invalidates the premise of the show. Also Ranma is the only Kung-Fu Protagonist i've ever seen who... doesnt want to be a martial artist? Like he's proud of his skills and definitly has rare moments where he gets invested emotionally in a fight, but... even said pride reads very "my parents made me play Piano for 5 hours a day all my childhood, and told me my value as a person is inherently tied to this instrument, so i'm proud of my skills as a pianist because of a combination of Self Esteem issues and because of a sunk-cost fallacy where if I dont continue down this life I'll have invalidated my entire previous existence leading up to this moment". The show feels like Ranma isnt into martial arts, his family is into martial arts and Ranma just wants to earn a right to exist in their eyes. (and much like Heinz' mothers love was inextricably linked to Kickball, Genma's love is inextricably linked to Punching) in short: I hope the finale ends with Ranma feigning their death and running away to do something else, get a hobby... Maybe open an icecream parlor, they seems like they'd be into that. Anyway that tangent (and the rapidly emerging "icecream parlor AU"-fic in my brain) aside. This series is definitly doing something right (like i said, im 60 episodes in and Im still in it for the long-haul), but its really hard for me to figure out what it is thats locking me in. I guess if i had to put a word on it, its the "All-in-Zany" that's locking me in? Like they're entirely self-aware that there is no need to turn figureskating into a martial art but they do it anyway. And then they treat that premise as dangerously as any other martial art. I always like when a show is willing to do something off-the-wall and show real dedication to said off-the-wall thing. (IE: The S2 RWBY Foodfight). Yeah i think thats it. No other show would give me "Martial Arts Pingpong" or "Martial Arts Pancake Cooking" and then throw around dynamite-laced pancake batter.
