Disney Recruiters (+Villains) x Reader || Drabbles

Plot: The Disney Villains have expressed interest in you! And, so, they send their recruiters after you.  

Includes: Apple Poison (/ the Evil Queen), Dalmatia (/ Cruella De Vil), Farja (/ Jafar), Eight Foot Joe (/ Ursula), Jack Heart (/ the Queen of Hearts), ), Lady Hook (/ Captain Hook), and Malfie (/ Maleficent). My apologies, but Miss Hades and Veil are not included because I couldn’t find much on their personalities a nd Miss Scar is just… odd to me 😅

Side note- I have started exploring the world of Twisted Wonderland as well finally and boy, I got very confused about Divus Crewel! He and Dalmatia look exactly alike apart from some very subtle differences! Also this is my first time even attempting to write for the recruiters, I’ve never even fantasised with them, so wish me luck XD

Apple Poison and the Evil Queen:

You’re picking flowers in the middle of a field when he first appears- and when you say that he appeared, you’re really not exaggerating or anything, you literally never heard him walk up or anything! And it would be hard to walk silently through this field, there’s lots of pretty, autumnal leaves that should cause a crushing sound when stepped on no matter how graceful a person you are.

But he had just suddenly been there, with you; Not 10 feet away.

Being employed - or enslaved, - as a a handmaid for the Queen, you had seen the man before of course, going about castle for no particular reason. Other maids would ask you about him, because he was handsome and oh-so-cold towards everyone (Much like your Queen herself) and you are the Queens favourite so if she would confide in any servant off-hand, then it would be you. You had even poured him wine in the Queens chambers before, but you still had absolutely no clue what his purpose there was, or even his name. Truly, the man was a mystery.

This made other castle staff all the more curious - and hot, - about him, but you just left it be. You left a lot of things be in that castle, in fact. Odd visitors like this man, but also odd smells, smoke coming from the dungeon, and curious orders for things like mugwort and eye of newt. That’s why, you suppose, that Queen Grimhilde truly preferred you over the rest of the maids. You didn’t ask questions or wonder- you don’t care much what she gets up to. It’s not your business to pry into the personal lives of the royal family, or their… constituents.

Yes, that was a fine word for the man. No need to consider it further.

Suddenly a gloved hand appears in the window of your vision, between you and the flowers you were picking, and you follow the arm that is attached to it, up to the man. The constituent. Oh-

Taking it obediently, you let him guide you up to your feet and then watch him with wide eyes as he presses a quick kiss against your knuckles. “I’ve seen you around the castle, Ms/Sir.”

“Ms/Sir?? Oh, you don’t have to call me- “

“Then what shall I call you?” As he lets go of your hand, you gently lower it back to your side. He seems just as he’s always been, even now away from the castle; Sensible and to-the-point. You appreciate it.

Though, having someone so high up as to be having regular private meetings with Her Majesty as you your name, is a little bit flustering. “… Y/N… “

“You may refer to me as A.P, for now. I’ve been sent by the Queen.”

“I was just picking her flowers for dinner tonight.”

“Yes, and she appreciates it.” Oh he’s a bit of a charmer, huh? Her Majesty would never express gratitude for you having just done your job. This is all rather… odd. Can’t you return to your duties? “But our beauteous Queen is requesting both of our presences, imminently. Someone else can complete this, I promise.”

“I… suppose… “This is all totally irregular, and you’re slightly thrown off by it. His name is A.P?? For now?? What does that mean!?

Nevertheless, you give a nod and he begins to lead you out of the field and back to your carriage and his horse- and this time, he makes the proper amount of crunching noises. You won’t say that all of this is not entirely peculiar, but you will keep your thoughts to yourself at least until you see your Queen. She likely has a perfectly good explanation for sending this man to come and separate you from your duties.

Dalmatia and Cruella De Vil:

“… HEY!”

“JESUS- “

You actually fall out of your desk chair at this, onto the marble floor that Cruella just loves to snap her heels into every time she walks by every morning and ow- it fucking hurts!! Your chair, on the other hand, does not suffer the dramatic fall you did and instead just… rolls away 2 feet.

Figures.

As you get up, denying yourself the mercy of rubbing your sore ass because the last thing you need right now is to embarrass yourself further, you glance at the asshole who irrefutably caused this mess. He’s laughing his bloody ass off, and you scowl at him. “What was that for!?”

“I was just saying hey! You didn’t need to go and throw yourself to the floor like that!!”

“I didn’t throw myself to the- I was startled by you!!”

“-Oh, sure.” He doesn’t seem convinced, but he does sober up a fair bit and waive his hand at you like ‘whatever’. Rolling your eyes deeply, you turn grab the back of your chair and drag it back to you; Turning back to your computer just to save your work so it doesn’t disappear while you deal with this wierdo. God forbid you lose all your progress on this horrendously complicated spreadsheet… Cruella would murder you.

Like, really murder. Take off one of those heels and embed it in your skull.

When he doesn’t go to speak again, and explain his presence, you give a frustrated sigh and take the first step. “Who are you, anyway? And what did you need to scream at me for? Huh??”

For a moment he looks confused himself, and you’re about to call security because clearly the looney bin left the doors open today, but he comes to his senses just in time. “… OH. Well, I’m Dalmatia- Miss De Vil’s personal assistant. And I’ve been sent to recruit- uh, fetch you for her. Follow me!~ “

“Uh uh uh- ” You grab him and he turns his back on you, dragging him back around to face you by the back of a designer suit. “Hold on there- I’m Cruella De Vil’s personal assistant. I know I am, because otherwise there is no way that I would be missing my lunch break to do this damn excel spreadsheet from hell. So let me ask again; Who are you?”

“Iiii… “The man peters out, avoiding eye contact and fiddling with his fingers. “Well, my name is Dalmatia.”

You are in no mood for nonsense like this. Lunch was going to be pizza! “That’s great. What are you doing here?”

“To fetch you.”

“Wh- “

“For gods sake Y/N, just come into my office.” Cruella herself comes stalking out of her office at the end of the hall, looking non-too-happy at either of you, before turning on her heel and stepping back in. You let go of the back of the man’s suit collar like you were burnt, surprised that he’s legit. “And Dalmatia, how is it you usually do this? If you can’t even get my assistant into my office, I have some serious concerns… “

“Oh, I would’ve worn them down!~ “ You’re just collecting some folders and printed sheets and a USB in preparation for whatever Cruella might want in there, when Dalmatia links his arm through yours and yanks you off towards the intimidating glass door ahead somehow gracefully. He flashes you a wink and you roll your eyes.

What is going on??

Farja and Jafar:

Knock, Knock, Knock!

Slowly, you look up from the book you were struggling to get through, to the door to your chambers. Did someone just?... Oh, no way. Its just your imagination. Back to-

Knock, Knock, Knock, Knock, Knock, Knock!!

Oh! You didn’t imagine it! Whoops!- Setting your book aside quickly, you get up and race to the door before swinging it open and peaking out. Who could it be?

When your eyes land on her, a woman with long raven hair and a beautiful purple flower that is… glowing… you feel suddenly like you should have just pretended you weren’t home. She flashes a bright, kind smile though and that sets your nerves slightly more at ease. “Good afternoon! There’s a lovely sunset happening outside, have you seen??”

“Oh, um- No… “Who is this woman?? Why is she knocking on doors talking about the sun??? “I was just- “

“Oh that’s okay!~ Anyway, I’m Farja! It’s nice to meet you!~ Do you know Jafar?”

“I- I know of him, yes.” But you’re a servant and he sure as hell doesn’t mingle with the likes of servants- unless he’s terrorising them of course. You know men who have had to carry furniture here and there all day because of him and swear they saw him smile about it, and women who walk faster when they pass him alone in the halls because he’s been known to corner them.

He sounds like a bit of a scoundrel, really. What does this lady know of him?

She gathers your hand in hers, and gives another warm smile before turning to walk off down the hall and take you with her. “Wonderful! Come on, we have to go see him- “

“Wait!”

“What?”

“I… what’s going on??” It seems the right question to ask. Anything else would simply miss the big picture. Hopefully this covers everything, like, who is she?? Where did she come from?? What is her relation to the Sultan’s Vizier?? Why do you need to go see him with her??

What? What? Wha- Hey, was the flower in her hand always golden?

“Oh,” She lets out a giggle, and it’s a sound similar to that of bells, or the finest jewellery. “I apologise. You must be confused, I understand that. But I promise, he will make it all make sense. It will be okay- just come.”

This definitely feels like one of those ‘Don’t go’ sort of situations, so you stay behind the door. But she then reaches out and takes your hand in hers once again, this time much gentler, and tugs again and before you know it you’re letting Farja lead you down hallways- all the while, she natters on about this and that. The sunset and how magical it is, Jafar and how he’s going to make everything clear for you, and what she had for dinner the other night. She’s a little goofy and a little airheaded but theirs an odd sweetness to her, that just make you want to trust her.

You’re definitely not sure whether you should have let her take you, anxiety is biting away at you, but you can’t back out now.

Eight Foot Joe and Ursula:

You’re just tending to your coral bed, which is one of the best in the kingdom even if you do just say it yourself, and keeping a casual, yet watchful eye on the loiterer nearby. He’s been lingering for the past 3 hours, and you’ve never seen him around before, so he’d raised some red flags for you.

He hasn’t done anything bad yet, though, so you aren’t too concerned. Just cautious. And there’s nothing wrong with that- there are kids that live nearby!

Then you’re turning around to shoo away some sea horses from the area in your garden that you’ve recently sprayed with some weed killer- and your arm is grabbed!

You whip around to see the loiterer, and narrow your eyes. “Excuse you?- “

 “Come on.” His tone, nor his grip, is particularly strong or alarming - in fact he sounds bored, - but ‘Come on’?- Where!? You’re not going anywhere with a perfect stranger! Is he out of his mind???

“Let go of my arm.” You tell him sternly, the sternest that you’ve ever sounded, and glare as hard as you possibly can at him; Hoping he’s nice and weak-willed.

He just gives a sigh, not too bothered, by thankfully let’s go. Those hands go in his pockets and his shoulders slump and you allow your own arm to return to its regular place hanging at your side, still glaring at him. “Fine, come on.”

Is he serious? “… Where??”

For a moment he doesn’t respond, and you have a chance to get a proper look at him so you can assess what you’re dealing with here. He’s an octopus creature and he’s dressed rather well, but the way he’s slumped causes the whole look to be totally thrown off like he takes no pride in his appearance. That’s strike number two.

Strike number one was, of course, the grabbing.

Strike number 3 is the fact that he has yet to explain himself, and just hovers there thinking, like the dumbest and most inept kidnapper ever.

“… I have to take you to Ursula.” He finally says, shifty eyes flickering to you and watching your reaction. He’s taken a gamble, saying that name, and he must be able to tell just looking at how your face is transforming that it was a bad one.

“The sea witch?! No way- “You snap, turning around and going for your front door- but he reaches forward and grabs your arm again. His grip is a little bit tighter this time, but isn’t painful by any means. You think you could still peel his fingers off if you need to. But instead of trying that, you whip around once again, this time holding up a fist, and go for his face with it.

He catches it almost lazily, and lowers your arm so he’s holding both your wrists in one hand, and that’s how you discover how strong his grip really is. It may not be tight, but its powerful. You could not peel his fingers off. Jaw dropping, you look from your fist to him to the street around you, searching for some help but everyone else is either inside of out for the day. Turning back to your attacker, you grit your teeth and glare harshly. “Let go.”

Giving a shrug, he turns around then and starts half leading you, half dragging you off away from your little street and your coral bed. “Cant. Ursula wants to talk to you.”

“Well give her a message for me!” You force out, struggling against his hand. “I don’t want any part in her dealings!- “

This time he sighs, and its rather annoyed, but he doesn’t look back at you and he doesn’t squeeze tighter. “Not that you have much choice in the matter, but… you might change your mind, when you hear her offer.”

Oh, really? “Why would I do that!?”

Another sigh wafts back from him, and it’s your only response as the two of you venture into the deeper, darker parts of the ocean.

Jack Heart and the Queen of Hearts:

One moment you’re peacefully reading under a big oak tree, the roses nearby chattering away quietly together, when a WHOOSH sound interrupts the quiet and a man with curly brown hair appears upside down- right in your face. Startled, you accidentally smack yourself in the nose with your book, pulling yourself away from him.

“Ow,” The guy winces, but doesn’t stop his grinning. “That looked like it hurt.”

You give a pout in return as you rub up and down the bridge of your nose. “It- it did!”

“My bad. Hey, look, I���ll get you a tart to make up for it!” He exclaims, swinging slightly back and forth with excitement from the branch his legs are curled around above your head. You take a glance up, to make sure that the branch he’s chosen is nice and sturdy, and isn’t about to fall on you because that would really hurt, before allowing curiosity to get the better of you.

“… what kind of tart?” A tart does sound rather nice right now-

“Cranberry! It’s the best. The queen swears by them!”

“Th- the queen!??” Even referring to her is startling. Is he one of her guards? He doesn’t look like a royal guards, you think as you assess him, but… you can never be too careful. You work as a kitchen maid in the palace, and you’ve seen quite enough beheadings to be quite wary of the possibility. Not that you really needed the visual proof that it would be nasty, but… It has made the fear worse.  

Which is funny, because contrary-wise you might think that seeing so many beheadings would rather numb you to the fear of having your own head chopped off, for the bodies only twitch for a little while and then they die pretty quickly, but… no… it hasn’t.

“Yeah!” The man, enthusiastic as he seems to be, doesn’t notice your concern. In fact he takes your quietness is an opening to talk more. Meanwhile, you can’t help but wonder whether his blood is all rushing to his head, yet. “I work for her in the palace- like you! That’s why I’m here, actually. The Queen’s requesting an audience, with you!”

“Requesting?... “

“Yeah, well, demanding actually. Pot-Ay-Toe, Pot-Ah-Toe though, right?” Just as you’re worrying about what you could have possibly done to get on Her Majesties bad side, the guy flips off the tree branch and lands somehow gracefully down on his feet in front of you. It’s a spectacular trick, and you wonder how he pulled it off, staring up at him with eyes the size if tea plates. “Ta-Daa!~ C’mon,” He lowers a gloved hand down in front of your face for you to take, and gives you a wink. “We’ll pinch you your tart on the way!”

“Oh, I don’t think I should be… pinching her tarts… “You say hesitantly, inching your fingers into his palm delicately so he can pull you up next to him. God knows what you’ve done to anger her already, you aren’t about to make it worse by stealing her favourite snack inside her own castle!

Once he has dragged you - again, somehow gracefully, - to your feet, he brushes his thumb over your knuckles and carries them up to his mouth. Your cheeks are heating up and your jaw is dropping as he lands a kiss against them, too. Then looks up at you with the most intense eyes you’ve ever seen, and say… “I won’t let you get hurt.”

And all you can think is- Who is this guy???

Lady Hook and Captain Hook:

“Y/N.” A female voice calls your name; Muffled because of the water but spoken very clearly, and full of intent. You hear the sternness and debate emerging at all, but at receiving a few frustrated glances from various other sleeping mer-people who the woman above is interrupting.

Sighing, letting lose a few bubbles that fly up the surface and surely give away your position anyway, you let go of the seaweed pillow you were cuddling, and swim up to where the voice came from. “Yes?” You ask, resting your arms on the land before the woman’s boots, craning your neck to look up at the woman.

“I’m known as Lady Hook.” She says frankly, before giving a sigh and offering the fake hook-hand up as explanation for her name. You give a hum, and rest your elbows on the rocks near where she’s standing, lace your fingers together, and set your chin atop. Can this be over? You’re so sleepy… “I’m here to recruit you for my Captain.”

“Your Captain? Wow… “Giving a breathy chuckle, you tilt your head to the side as you look up at her; Eyes fully open finally. “I didn’t know you two-leggeds were like that~ “

Glaring, she furrows her brows and scrunches up her nose and the expression would almost be cute… if she didn’t give you the feeling that calling her that would get you a kick to the teeth. “Like what?”

“Oh, just… “Kinky. “Nothing… “

“Hm… “She gives you one more hard glare, before returning to her more neutral expression- which is, curiously, still rather angry. “Furthermore- I am to take you to him.”

“Look, I don’t really have any interest in joining Hook’s crew, so sorry you made the trip, but, its actually my nap time right now so I’ll just be goin- “

“It pays well.” Lady Hook interrupts, and your eyes flash at her. No. No, that’s not going to do.

“I don’t need gold. So- “

“No, not in gold. We discovered recently that you’re warring with the boy- which means we’re working toward the same thing. Together, in water and on land, we may have a better chance at vanquishing the brat.”

… Okay, that does get your attention. Turning back from the waters again, you tilt your head at her. “… You have a point, there.” Its common knowledge that the pirates hate Peter, Hook especially. And though the other mermaids may love the stupid kid… you sure don’t. There’s just something about him that has always left a bad taste in your mouth, and he’s just always flying around here… making a terrible racket and interrupting your peace… Your life would be perfect, without him around. So- “What kind of offer is Hook making?”

“Come with me, and find out.”

Hmmm, giving Lady Hook a scrupulous look, you push off of the rocks. “Show me the way, then~ “

Malfie and Maleficent:

One morning while you’re hanging up a particularly large bed sheet in the sun to dry, struggling a little bit with its size, you fail to notice the big, black raven land on the table you have your tea set on. It takes you a couple minutes, but as the raven watches you, you manage to get the damn sheet hung up as well as the rest of the laundry- before turning to your breakfast that had been cooling down while you worked.

You see the raven immediately, of course, perched a little too close to your porridge, and narrow your eyes… inching towards the table just a little bit at a time, hesitantly to waive your hand at it. “… Shoo.”

It doesn’t make a sound back, doesn’t even move. The thing just stares at you until you get as close as you dare, a couple steps, and stand there quite put-out at its gall. You are the human, aren’t you? It’s the woodland creature. Shouldn’t it… scatter? Huphing, you set your hands on your hips with a frown. This just wont do.

… Narrowing your eyes and thinning your lips, you attempt to vocally request it leaves your food alone- why you thought that speaking fairly to the bird would help you, you have no clue. But it wasn’t responding to traditional waiving and shooing, so why not try? “… excuse me? That’s my breakfast, sir- or ma’am? I’d really love it if you flew a bit away from it.”

At this, miraculously, the raven actually does lift up into the air with a flap of its wings, and you watch with wide eyes as it lands then on the chair beside the table- and promptly turns into a man.

Your jaw drops open and you breath in deeply to scream at the horrifying impossibility, that this aviary just transformed into a man, but he who is currently gazing into a black hand mirror at himself, oh-so-delicately raises a finger at you as if to shush you- without even glancing away from his reflection.

Promptly you shut your mouth, and frown again in an unamused, perturbed sort of way. Well, he’s a bit cheeky.

God- what are you thinking? You should be freaking out! This man was just a BIRD!-

You’re about to go ahead this time and scream at the top of your lungs, but just in time he actually looks away from the mirror an his soft gaze falls on you. “Please, don’t.”

Letting out the air again that you had in preparation to scream, you clench your fists in frustration and shake your head. “I think I have every right to scream!”

“Sure, of course you do- laying your lucky eyes on ME!” Oh- seriously?? “Aha, but please, I have business to attend to with you and it’ll be a lot easier for us both if you just keep your enthusiasm for later. Thank you.”

What- Looking around, you half wonder if this is a crazy trick of some kind. Loki? Are you around??

Who even is this man????

“Uh… you have… business, with me??” What kind of business would a bird-man have with you? Gods, so many questions.

“I do,” Giving a sweet smile that you don’t trust one bit, considering the mischievous nature of transformation magic and the almost sickly-sweet sound of his voice. While he pushes out of the hair you were going to have your long-forgotten-about breakfast in and stalks around you- long, long legs taking him in a circle around you swiftly.  “See… “Oh, he’s gazing at his reflection again. “My Mistress thinks you have a quality she could use. And she would like for you to join forces with us. Of course, there’s more to it then that and… you’d have to learn to live near me without becoming too enamoured all the time... but there are perks. Protection, for one- “

“Wait wait wait,” You cut in, turning just in time to cut him off from another circle, setting your hands back on your hips and leaning towards him; A stern look on your face as you tilt your head to the side. “Who’s your mistress?”

“Umm… “The guy looks upwards, thoughtful and only a little bit startled that you’re acting so gutsy with him. “I think you’ll have to give me an answer, before I tell you that.”

“Well, what’s the question??”

“Will you join her?”

“I don’t even know who ‘she’ is!!” This whole thing is mad-

“My apologies sweetheart- “

“What’s your name, then??”

“Oh,” The man drops down gracefully to one knee at once, then, and takes your hand in his; Guiding it towards his lips while you just seethe with frustration above him. “I’m Malfie~ “

You wrench your hand quickly away from him before he can kiss it, and his eyes go wide- looking up at you with a sudden awe-struck wonder. And- what- Is that a blush on his face? Is he serious?? “Take me to your Mistress, Malfie. I think I’d rather conduct business with her, if I must conduct it at all.”  

“As you wish, love… “

This crack taken seriously rom com is an absolute delight. You will be giggling the entire time at this one.

Cas is stuck in a dead end reporter job at a failing station in the unfortunately or hilariously (depending on your level of middle school humor) named town of Uranus.

When Cas' cat gets stuck in a tree, his panicked call results in the fire department (and half of emergency services) showing up - including his wet-dream-slash-crush Dean Winchester. He recognizes Dean from a charity calendar, and he may be just a smidge obsessed with him. Like owns a bunch of merch with his picture obsessed. But what he doesn’t know is Dean also has a massive crush on Castiel. Like an embarrassing, watch DVR recordings of the man over and over crush. Dean manages to get it together enough to ask Cas to report on a public safety measure and what follows is a very public and adorable courtship that just might save the station.

Expect mutual disaster idiots, lots and lots of humor and a delightful cast of residents. But also this fic has an underlying softness that will have you unable to put it down. Also, a developing friendship between Balthazar, Gabriel and Crowley that is the best thing that has happened to me personally in a long time.

Seriously, it's a delight.

Look, fleeceframe has this incredible ability to write gorgeous, gentle stories that take apart your heart like a 500 piece puzzle and put it back together. This one is both particularly soft and particularly beautiful.

A fairytale AU, this tells the story of Cas, a shy and lonely honey merchant who falls in love with one of the Swans, local celebrities, who as a result of a curse, turn into swans. There are wings. There is gorgeous worldbuilding. But most importantly, there is just this gorgeous love story between two very lonely men who feel invisible.

They don't just accept each other, they cherish each other. It’s gorgeous.

The Handyman's Special by Carrieosity @carrieosity (Explicit, 51k)

If you want a good laugh, this is the fic for you. I was cracking up the ENTIRE time.

Dean, a professor with minimal construction experience and a shoddy home inspection, buys a fixer upper that's more like a money pit. But he can’t face the "I told you so" from Sam, so he hires a contractor in secret. And then to keep that secret, he lies and says the contractor, Cas, is his boyfriend.

What follows is a disaster-Dean rom com with a lot of heart. The angst never gets too angsty. It's fun and sweet and hilarious.

Too Hot To Hunt by Englandwouldfall (Teen, 19k)

A canon fix-it case fic that reverses the fuck or die trope. Dean and Cas encounter a monster that attacks couples during intimacy. Which means two things: 1. Dean has to reveal to his brother that he and Cas have been an item since he came back, and 2. Dean and Cas may have to use their words instead of hiding behind sexual intimacy. So that’s not awkward at all.

This one is just immensely satisfying, digging into all of the things that make Dean and Cas so bad at communicating. It's soft, awkward, and mildly angsty in the best way.

Jurassicatural by anyrei and queerwerewolf @anyreiart @queerwerewolf @the-real-anywolf (Explicit, 34k)

A delightful mashup of Jurassic Park and SPN, this one is just really fun. Chuck Shurley had created a new theme park for long extinct monsters, but his investors have one requirement before opening: sign-off from experts on the creatures.

Enter the Winchester brothers, a Paleontologist and Paleobotanist, and Dr. Cas Novak, Historian. But life finds a way and so does trouble.

In addition to just being fun, this one features an instant obsession between Destiel that is really fun to watch, a delightfully moody Claire, a sunny Jack and some really fun monsters.

Fata morgana by orange_crushed (Teen, 6.6k)

This is a short read but woof. It really packs a punch. A canon adjacent story in Hell told from the perspective of Bela Talbot, it's the kind of fic that will make you want to munch on the shower door.

There's an angel in Hell and Bela is going to find him. The angel? Cas seeking out Dean, the King of Hell.

This one plays with the lore in an extremely satisfying way. It's justice for Bela, though not in a saccharine sweet way, and also some really lovely Cas stuff.

If you are looking for some fun worldbuilding, this fic has you. Set in a world powered by magic, Dean is on the cusp of graduating and becoming a warlock. It's everything his father has ever wanted…and now he has to admit nothing he actually wants. Dean is determined to fail the final exam - to summon and bind himself to a demon - so that he can finally be free. Unfortunately for Dean, he fails at failing and instead summons an incubus, Castiel.

This one has some gorgeous nods to canon and it's simply a fun, sizzling read. The angst isn't too angsty. Cas is basically a sex God. It’s good, dirty fun. On top of that, Dean and Cas have some absolutely gorgeous soft moments.

Dark Side of the Moon by imogenbynight @thevioletcaptain (Mature, 37k)

An astronaut AU similar in some aspects to the Martian: after Dean's crew is killed in an accident on the moon, he's left alone and traumatized. Cas volunteers to help retrieve him, but can they make it in time and what will they find when they get there?

This one has a nice balance of horror elements, trauma, and humor. It also has just really likeable cast of characters. Even though you know it will all end well, there are some delightfully tense moments and the immediate bond between Cas and Dean is a delight.

In my personal AU/headcanons Mr V mostly views the recruiters a lot like walking money banks. Though he does care for their safety and well being so he has no problem getting them away from mean customers. Thought most of my fics (a majority with inspiration or help from the lovey @crazyyanderefangirlfan) he's very money grabby.

As for legit canon that's hard to say outside of my usual headcanons/AUs

But are they better than their masters, well depends on which master

If lets say Captain Hook, no, Lady Hook/Hock has hands down the best relationship with her master, to the point I wouldn't be surprised he calls her his daughter. But if it's let's say Ursula, then oh yeah Joe would much rather do typical boring paper work and running around a theme park or cruise anytime than stuck in a dark cave writing until his wrists his get sore. Joe seems the one who's most tired but I almost feel as if he's the most relieved and happy on the days he can work on land, dude doesn't even give energy to talk about the sea witch!

Now, would he do anything to protect them from their masters? That also depends on the scene. He's not as powerful any of them, closest being maybe Cruella or Frollo as they don't have magic or things connected to magic, so he can legit get tragically hurt if he stepped in to let's say Jafar going a lil crazy. But he knows just the right moment to distract any of them and be a charming smooth talker and get them away from their recruiters if things get out of hand, I once wrote a fic I tossed that the Queen of Hearts was having a crazy moment and nearly struck Jack until Mr V swooped in and took a stroll with her leaving Jack trying to calm down while he's shaking. He also knows when and how to flag down any heroes or staff members if needed most, dealing with whatever complaint the masters or recruiters have

What are some media pieces (movies books songs poems) that you were obsessed with or held dear to your heart when you were a kid?

Ranger's apprentice biggest obsession to this day, started reading it when I think there were 6 books out, second grade? And now there's 11 ranger's apprentice, 9 brotherband, and 6 royal ranger and making this post made me find out the 6th royal ranger is out, i'm on the 5th one currently! I guess barnes and noble just didn't have the 6th when i was there rip. I made a Will Treaty costume for Halloween in middle school, still have the silver oakleaf!

Chris D'Lacy's dragon series, got all those books but it starts going off the rails after the 3rd, those first 3 are awesome tho, reread them in college

The Hunger Games, one of my sisters is 4 grades ahead and was reading it for school at the time, she was more obsessed than me but I would read anything she was reading lol, went to I think every movie's midnight premiere?? My twin was Katniss the year I was Will.

Avatar the Last Airbender, my family would watch a lot of these live and I remember when we got a DVR and could record them to watch any time! The drama of seeing Day of Black Sun live and eventually the series finale, so fun.

Pendragon series, got obsessed w/ this series within the first 4 books so I got all 10 but it also went off the rails after like, 5 or 6. John Flanagan is the only author who can keep his stories tight all the way through smh.

Meg Cabot, she had so many YA series that I read cuz my older sister had them that were fun, the 1-800-Where-Are-You and The Mediator I remember for sure.

Music-wise my iPod was a lot of avril lavigne , evanescence and green day, i was so mad I couldn't go to a green day concert in third grad XD

The Jack Sparrow series, I learned how to read w/ these in like kindergarten! Never heard of someone else who's read them!! There's 12, they're very short and easy, follows Jack Sparrow as like a preteen and his two friends. Later on also read the Legends of the Brethren Court series where each book is Jack trying to get a vial of some liquid something used for immortality? A few of the other pirate leaders have them and he's trying to collect them before the main villain does. I don't think this series was ever finished, i read the first 3?

"Did you remember to set the DVR for that documentary?"

"Yeah, did it."

If anyone had asked Dean Winchester when he was twenty if he ever expected to be settled down like this — all domestic,  basically married — he'd have laughed in their face and then gone off somewhere alone and gotten viciously drunk. But here he is. Here they are. They're changing into their PJ's in the room they share, about to get into their bed together, and having the most boring conversation on the planet.

"Don't forget we need to call the guy back about the-"

"Yes, it's on my list for tomorrow."

Twenty-year-old Dean had assumed he'd be dead by now, long since put underground by a rugaru or a rawhead. He never saw a real relationship in the cards for himself. He'd gathered all those soft dreams and wishes and he'd done his best to cleanse them from his brain. He'd figured falling in love, having a family, those were things other people did. All it took was an angel to change his mind.

"Do you really think Jack needs glasses?"

"Kid's half-angel, babe. I doubt he's got astigmatism. He's just trying to get out of research because it's no fun."

It wasn’t long after you’d met Jack that Aaron had realized he wanted to spend every possible moment with you and asked you to move in with them. You had been shocked, of course. It was a huge step going from girlfriend to practically step-mother so quickly, but you were so in love with both of them that you couldn’t help but say yes.

It was particularly nice to have Jack around when his dad was gone on long cases, like he had been for the last week and a half. Nothing like a rambunctious five year old to keep your mind off of what danger your boyfriend might be in this week. You always kept it together for Jack’s sake, but inside you were always an anxious mess waiting for the phone to ring so you could hear his familiar voice on the line and know that he was safe.

You hadn’t been able to pry many details out of Aaron about the case he had been working, but from what little you could gather it had been the worst his team had seen for a long time.

You were just sitting down to dinner with Jack when you heard the sound you had been longing for. Heart racing, you flung back the chair and bounded to the living room to answer your ringing cell phone.

“Hey honey!”

From the other end, a somber voice.

“Hey.”

“What’s up? How’s the case?”

“It’s done. I’m coming home.”

You could tell by his tone that something wasn’t right.

At that moment you felt a small hand tug at the leg of your jeans. Jack had wandered in from the kitchen.

“Y/N, is that Daddy on the phone?”

“Yes Jack, it’s your dad.”

“Can I talk to him?”

“Of course, baby,” you say, handing over the cell.

“I love you daddy,” says Jack in the most angelic voice. You could just feel your heart melt with the sweetness.

“I love you too, buddy.”

“Are you coming home soon? I miss you.”

“Oh, Daddy misses you too, little man. I’ll be on the way soon, but you’ll probably be asleep when I get there. Can you give the phone back to Y/N, buddy?”

“Okay daddy.”

Taking the phone back from the child, you answer.

“Hey.”

“Hey. I’ll be home as soon as I can, but I may be late. You don’t have to wait up.”

“You know I can’t sleep without you. Get home safe, okay? We love you.”

“Yes ma’am. I love you too. Bye.”

You were relieved to hear that he was physically okay, but you couldn’t help but wonder what kind of emotional storm was brewing within him.

You took Jack by the hand and returned to your forgotten plates, finishing dinner quickly. After the dishes had been washed and put away, the two of you settled on the couch. Crawling into your lap, Jack fixes you with big brown eyes, just like his father’s.

“Y/N, can I stay up with you until dad gets home?”

How could you say no to that sweet cherub face? Besides, it was Friday evening. One late night wouldn’t hurt when he could sleep in the next morning.

“Alright,” you relent, ruffling his blonde hair. “You can stay up with me until your dad gets home.”

“Sweet!” He exclaims, nuzzling under your arm. You both settle in ready to start a movie. Jack manages to stay awake for a while, but as the hour grows later, the young boy struggles to keep his eyes open. He leans his head against your arm and his eyes slowly flutter shut. Not wanting to to wake him, you wait a few minutes until his breathing is slow and steady letting you know that he’s fully asleep.

Carrying him on your hip, his head on you shoulder, you slowly rise from the low sofa. Heading down the dark hallway as quietly as possible, you make it to his bedroom. You pull back the covers and lay him softly in bed. As you tuck him in he stirs just a bit. You stroke his hair and give his back a rub and he drifts back to sleep.

The next thing you knew, you’d woken up curled up with Jack in his bed. Finding him still sound asleep, you gave him a kiss on the forehead and quietly crept from his room. The digital clock on the DVR reads 11:35 pm. Surely, he should be home soon.

You head towards the kitchen get a glass of water when you hear a key in the front door lock. Thirst immediately forgotten, you dash for the entryway and there he stands lines of exhaustion prominent on his handsome face.

He’s always tired after a long case, but this is different. His broad shoulders bent as if he was carrying the weight of the world. Struggling with his suitcases, he can barely drag his feet across the hardwood floor.

“Leave them,” you say, gently placing a hand on his forearm. As he lets go of the bags, you take his hand and lead him to the sofa. Sitting him down, you easily loosen and remove his tie. Moving down to the hardwood floor, you tackle his black dress shoes next, tossing them aside. Climbing back up, you unbutton his dress shirt, setting it at the other end of the couch.

As you lie back on the couch, he eases underneath your left arm, half on top of you, his head resting on your chest. As your left hand caresses his back and tie right hand softly strokes his hair, he lets out a small sigh and the tension in his body melts away.

Kissing him on the forehead just as you had done with Jack, you ask, “Bad case?”

“The worst,” he murmurs.

“You know you can talk to me, right? I know you’re used to being the person who’s strong for everyone else, but you can’t keep things bottled up.”

Suddenly his shoulders began to quake and the tears fell. You rocked him back and forth like a child, gently consoling.

“Shhhhhhh, let it out Aaron, it’s okay.”

“No it’s not,” he interjects, gazing at you with tear filled eyes.

“What’s wrong, baby?” You ask, gingerly wiping the tears streaming down his face.

“I couldn’t save them,” he replies dejectedly. “He killed six women before we caught him.”

“But you caught him,” you remind him. “Now he can’t hurt anyone else.”

“Not good enough. Not soon enough,” he answers bitterly.

Turning his face to yours, you respond, “You can’t save everyone, Aaron. You know that. You do the best you can, and you help so many people. You make the world a better place just by being in it.”

Sniffling, he gives you a small smile.

“This is why I love you.”

“I love you too, Superman, now let’s get to bed. I know you’re worn out.”

Once in the master bedroom, you both changed. Aaron removing his undeshirt and slipping into a pair of sweatpants and you into a knee length satin night gown. Slipping underneath the blankets, he pulls your back flush to his chest.

“Good night sweetheart.” He whispers in your ear.

“Good night.”

Finally feeling his warmth next to you again, you doze off quickly. Holding you in his arms, he thinks to himself that you must be an angel. He’s not sure what he did to deserve you, but he’s infinitely glad that you’re his. Giving your shoulder a gentle shake, he rouses you.

“What going on? What time is it?” You inquire drowsily.

“I just needed to tell you something.”

“What is it?” You ask, rolling over to face him.

“You’re my best friend.”

Now it’s your turn to cry as he pulls you close.

After a few moments, you manage to squeak out a shaky “I love you, Aaron.”

“I love you too, baby.”

Just as you’re both about to go back to sleep, the door creaks open. You hear a few small steps and a sweet, tiny voice calls out, “Daddy?”

“Yeah buddy?”

“I had a bad dream.”

Reaching down, Aaron hoists the child up and into his lap.

“Bad dream, huh? You know it’s not real right? Because daddy would never let anything hurt you,” he reassures.

“I know daddy. Can I sleep with you and Y/N tonight? Just for tonight, i promise.” He pleads.

Aaron looks to you with questioning eyes for permission and you nod.

“Alright little man. Looks like we’re having a sleepover.”

You woke the next morning as the hazy sunbeams filtered in through the blinds. Jack was still snoozing away on his side with his back against your stomach. Sensing that you had woken, Aaron reaches over to stroke your hair.

“Good morning beautiful.”

Giving a sleepy smile and content sigh you replied “Mmmmm, good morning.”

“I love you, darling.”

“I love you more.”

Just then an impulsive thought crossed his mind and he had to get it out before he lost the nerve.

“Marry me,” he blurts out, instantly feeling the panic rise in his chest.

Your eyes immediately widen and your mouth drops open, mind reeling trying to make sure you just heard what you think you heard.

“Would you?” He asks, taking your hand.

“Would I what?”

“Marry me,” he repeats calmly.

“You’re serious, aren’t you?”

“I’ve never been more sure of anything in my life. I want to wake up every day for the rest of my life just like this. So I’ll ask one more time. Y/N, will you marry me?”

Your heart was pounding, but you knew your answer. Deep down, you had known it since the day you met.

“Yes Aaron, of course I’ll marry you.”

3. Remote Controller The DISH TV Hopper Voice Remote has a simple design and is small and handy. It also has a touchpad in the middle. It has an amazing voice control feature, which the Genie remote controller lacks. The backlit keys add an extra oomph to the plain old remote and make it very easy to use in the dark. Not only do the backlights serve the purpose of easy readability of keys in dim lights, but they also come in handy when finding your remote in the dark. But it does not have a voice control option, nor the backlit keys (which every remote controller should have in my opinion). But the good thing is that Genie has a voice control feature when connected to their mobile device app. The Genie remote controller now comes with infrared and radio frequency technology, which allows better communication between your remote and receiver. The inclusion of this latest technology helps in avoiding common remote control problems like the TV not directly aligning with the remote. 4. User-Interface DISH Hopper 3 has a very modern look to it. With its integrated streaming services it offers a cohesive and pleasing experience to its users. It has a black and red grid. With its easy to use filters for genre, shows and even actors it is convenient to browse through your favourite TV content. Additionally, it includes other streaming services like Netflix, YouTube, and Pandora.

DirecTV Genie is easy, convenient to use and has a black and blue look. It has well-organized HD and SD content for easier access unlike other DVRs which separate HD channels, for which you need to remember the channel number to find the HD version of your favourite show.

It can connect to maximum 7 TVs and is able to display upto 16 unique viewings. The Hopper is an ideal choice for big families or those households where multiple roommates live together. It allows independent viewing on each connected receiver, so everybody can watch their favourite shows or movies at a time in your home.

The DirecTV Genie can record five channels at a time. It displays upto 4 unique viewings and can connect upto 8 TVs at once. The door closed.  You had actually done it.  You left him.  You had walked out the front door with your bags, your feelings, and your resentment, dead set on never coming back.  The soft click of the door latching shut kept echoing through Bakugou’s ears.  You hadn’t even yelled at him.  You hadn’t slammed the door.  You didn’t cry.  You had been so… cold. 

Bakugou hated that.  He wished you had been angry.  He wished you had slammed the door in his face.  You should’ve made him angry with your anger.  Anything to distract him from the pain that was bubbling in his chest.  It was like he had an elephant sitting on his chest.  He struggled to take a full breath of air.  His head spun.  He was just lost and he didn’t know how to deal with the sorrow.  He couldn’t just rage this away.  Even if he had wanted to, he didn’t think he could bring himself to be angry at you.  Even now, with you out of his life, he couldn’t me mad at you.  Maybe he was weak-willed.  Maybe he just cared too much and didn’t want that guilt of yelling at your memory to haunt him if you ever did decide to come back.  He didn’t know.  He just knew that this hurt like hell.  

He didn’t cry.  No matter how many days and hours went by without you, he didn’t cry.  Part of him was expecting you to be in the kitchen when he woke up, making a pot of coffee.  He was expecting you to be sitting on the couch, laughing at reruns of your favorite sitcoms every evening when he got home.  But you never were.  The realization that you probably weren’t coming back just left him numb.  He didn’t feel anything anymore.  He wasn’t happy to go to work, because you wouldn’t be there to curl into bed with him when he got home.   Being in that apartment was like a living nightmare.  You had wiped every inch of you away.  You had cleaned the lipstick stains off of the mirror from all of those days where you wanted to see which one looked the best without having to actually put it on first.  You had thrown out the set of sheets that had nail polish stains, because you had just had to paint his nails, but you had accidentally knocked the bottle over, leaving a nice pink stain.  You erased all of your shows from the DVR.  Your favorite coffee cup wasn’t in the cabinet anymore.  If anyone who hadn’t known either of you walked in, they would’ve been convinced that he lived alone all of this time.  

Despite everything that you had said to him when you walked out, he threw himself even deeper into his work.  He needed that distraction.  He needed to be away from that apartment as long as possible.  He was afraid of what might happen if he stayed there for too long.  He just wanted to get over you, erase you from his memory, but it never failed that the minute his mind had the opportunity to wander, it always drifted to you.  He would think about your smile every time you laughed.  About the lipstick stains on his coffee cup every morning where you would taste his to make sure that it was just how he liked it and the inevitable gag of distaste because “How can anyone drink coffee without cream?”  The smell of pancakes on those few days where neither of you had work.  Throwing pillows at you because you had made him blush over something stupid.  Your cheesy notes that you would leave around the apartment.  Things like, “Is your name Google? Because you have everything I’m searching for” on his laptop, or “You don’t need keys to drive me crazy” on his key ring.  

It wasn’t until he had to go grocery shopping that his world came crashing down.  He had returned to the apartment, arms full with bags of produce and other necessary household items.  You had always done the shopping on your day off.  Things were always in their place by the time he got home, so how the hell was he supposed to know where you used to keep the sugar?  The kitchen was a disaster by the time he had things put away.  He moved to the laundry room, ready to put the final thing away.  He pulled the old bottle of detergent down from the shelf and turned to throw it in the trash can.  But, he stopped.  A pink sticky note that he had never found before was stuck to the back of the bottle.  It was obviously old.  The pen had started to fade, but he could still read it just fine.

“Love you LOADS! Love, Y/N”

Before he could stop himself, his lip started to shake and his face heated up.  The tears streamed down his face in rivers that had no sign of stopping.  He probably looked so stupid, sitting on the floor, clutching a bottle of laundry detergent to his chest as he shook with sobs, but he didn’t care.  A month’s worth of bottled up emotions finally spilled and there was no stopping the pain that came back.  He missed you.  He missed you so Goddamn much.  His heart physically ached just thinking about you, knowing that you were out there somewhere doing just fine without him.  You were probably happier now than you had ever been with him.  You had been right.  He had pushed you away.  He didn’t realize it until then, but you were right.  He had strayed away from you so far that looking back on it, he didn’t even recognize himself.  You had stuck by him day after day as he worked his body to death, even after you had advised him not to.  You were always there physically, but emotionally, he was able to finally see the different story.  He always believed that you stopped asking about his day because you were just as tired as he was, but he never you about yours, so why would you bother to ask about his?  He had been cold to you.  That had never been his intention.  He cared about you and he would travel to the corners of the universe if it would’ve made you happy.  But, thinking on it, Bakugou couldn’t remember the last time you had smiled.  The last time you had laughed or poked fun at him.  Had it really been that long?  Had he really made you miserable for that long?  Surely…

But you wouldn’t have left if you had been happy.

He didn’t know what to do anymore.  He had held himself back for so long.  He had been strong.  He pretended like he didn’t care whenever the others at the agency asked what had happened.  But each “We broke up.  It’s not a big deal.” hurt.  Each time he had to face the truth felt like someone had just hit him over the head with a brick.  But, still, here he sat in the middle of the laundry room, his body racking with sobs over some stupid note that you had probably left back when you still did love him loads.  But, he had changed and you had adapted with him.  He was distant so you did what you had to in order to protect yourself.  That just happened to be walking out of his life without so much as a goodbye.  

His hand fumbled in his pocket, trying to pull his phone out.  He just needed you or someone to tell him that everything was going to be okay.  He punched in the number that he now knew by heart.  It rang and rang and rang.  

“Hi! You’ve reached Y/N.  Sorry that I missed your call, but if you leave me a message, I’ll be sure to get back to you!”

Of course you didn’t answer.  It was midnight.  You were probably fast asleep, not thinking about him anywhere near as much as he was thinking about you.  Even if you were awake, you probably saw that it was him and just let it ring, not wanting to deal with his bullshit anymore.  He hit the end call button and scrolled through his contacts until he found the one he wanted.

Two rings.

“Hello?” the rough voice answered.  Even through the phone, Bakugou could sense the sleep.

“Kirishima?  Are you awake?”

“I am now.”

“I’m sorry.  For everything.  I know that it’s probably stupid of me to have called, but I just- I just really need someone to talk to,” he muttered, trying his best to mask the fact that he had been crying.

“Dude, this is ridiculous.  You call me in the middle of the night after not speaking to me in, what? Three months?  All because you fucked up and now you feel bad about it,” Kirishima spits out. 

“I know, I know.  And I feel bad ab-”

“No, you don’t.  If you felt any bit of remorse towards what you had done, you would’ve called sooner.  Not when you want me to make you feel better.  What about all of those times when I’ve called you and just wanted to talk to my best friend, but you were always too busy for me.  Man, you have done jack shit for anyone but yourself and I’m over it.  What? So you finally have your break down because she left. Can you fucking blame her?!  When’s the last time you did something nice for her?  Don’t call me because you want to talk about your problems when we still have problems, dude.”

“Kirishima, please, I just-” Bakugou pleads, the tears in his eyes threatening to spring free once again. 

“Just stop, man.  I’m sorry that you’re upset, I really am.  Despite everything, I do still consider you my friend, but I’m not going to come running to your aid in the middle of the night, because you wouldn’t do the same thing for me.  You fucked up and this is your karma.  Your girlfriend dumped you, your friends aren’t there for you, isn’t your life just awful now?  What do you think we’ve been going through, huh?  You’ve been so oblivious that your relationships were failing, yet we were all suffering, wondering what the hell we ever did to deserve this kind of treatment from you.”

“I’m sorry, okay!  I’m sorry.  I’m sorry.  I’m sorry!  You’re right, okay? I’m a shit friend and a shit boyfriend, I get it!  You don’t have to remind me.  I fucked up.  I fucked everything up! I’m a failure who took everything I had for granted.  Is that what you wanted me to say?  I’m sorry for being the worst human being on the planet! I’m sorry that I pushed you away! I’m sorry that I pushed everyone away!  I’m fucking sorry, okay?”

Kirishima scoffed.  “Man, you lost the ability to fix everything with sorry a long time ago.”

“Please, Kiri-”

“Stop.  I’m done talking about this.  Goodnight,” Kirishima says, hanging up before Bakugou has the opportunity to get another word in.

You stir from your sleep when you hear the young man next to you start grumbling.  “Eijirou? Who was on the phone?”

“Bakugou,” he says, rolling his eyes and putting his phone back on the bedside table.  He lays back down, nestling into the covers beside you.  He wraps an arm around you, letting you lay his head on his shoulder.  “It’s nothing to worry about.  Just go back to bed, sweetheart.”

Here’s the Adult Swim schedule for Monday, October 7 to Sunday, October 13.

Time for Primal. The first five episodes will air this week at 12:00a, pre-empting Rick and Morty reruns and a new Black Jesus in the process. There’s gonna be five more episodes afterwards, but they’re not finished yet according to Genndy.

Xavier: Renegade Angel, once a staple of DVR Theater, returns for the first time in two years at 4:15a. Seemed like an obvious choice, given that it was replacing Shivering Truth and airs after The Heart She Holler, all of which are PFFR shows.

New Adult Swim Smalls on Friday: Whenever. Whatever that is, we’ll find out soon!

Saturday shakeup. Dragon Ball Super is done for, but it’s keeping 11:00p for now. Reruns start from the fourth to last episode. My Hero Academia reruns are currently at the fourth to last episode of season 3. HMMMMMMMM I WONDER WHAT THAT IMPLIES.

One-Punch Man is back for season 2, taking gen:LOCK’s spot. Demon Slayer premieres as well and gets 1:30a, bumping Clover, the soon to be removed Boruto, and Naruto down a slot.

Interestingly, Adult Swim has decided to change the Toonami lead-in from the ever so dependable Family Guy to Primal, dropping a Bob’s Burgers rerun from the 9p hour in the process. Given the limited episode count of Primal, don’t expect it to stick around very long. Does seem like a way of putting it on Toonami without ACTUALLY putting it on Toonami. Genndy seemed pretty unhappy about Samurai Jack season 5 being on Toonami, despite the Wednesday and Sunday reruns it also had.

So, other than Big Brother, which was one of the bigger reasons I was absent most of the summer because I was all invested in my fandom over that elsewhere, I did watch a lot of other TV this summer that I enjoyed and wanted to talk about. Here’s a few highlights:

The 100 continued to be super weird, but I’m still into it. 

Agents of Shield continued to be super weird, but I’m not sure if I am still into it or not?

American Princess, sadly cancelled, was a delightful new show on Lifetime about a woman who runs off to join a Ren Faire. 

BH90210 is a ridiculous soapy campy cheesy combination of real life and totally fictionalized aspects of the actors from one of my all-time fave shows and I am loving everything about it and I don’t CARE. Reallyreally hoping they get to do another season. (Really miss Luke, tho)

Derry Girls - what a delightful show! I binged it based on gif sets I’d seen around on tumblr and am now obsessed with it.

Elementary had a lovely farewell to fans, I think.

Euphoria was heart wrenching and Zendaya deserves all of the awards for it!

Gentleman Jack is wlw and historical romance CANDY. 

Grand Hotel, also sadly cancelled, was a fun summer soap with just oodles of diversity. 

Jane the Virgin had a very satisfying ending, imo. 

Killjoys had an incredibly satisfying ending, but I am still very sad that it’s over.

The Outpost continued to be enjoyable, but I still have a couple of episodes of that to watch!

Pose was just - uhggghhg all the feels!

Reef Break was a fun action adventure show where it’s a woman with a complex past who gets to play anti-hero and save the day every week.

The Righteous Gemstones is so fucking hilarious. If you enjoy dark comedy that’s a bit juvenile at times you absolutely have to check this one out. I crack up several times every episode and have found myself caring for these ridonkulous characters, as well, which was a surprise because they’re quite terrible. 

She-Ra - I am not normally into animated series but had heard such good things about this that I checked it out and very much liked it.

Schitt’s Creek was a show I was not interested in when it started but I kept getting it rec’d to me by people whose taste normally aligns with mine, so I finally checked it out and I am loving the shit out of it! I cackle at least once every episode. I’ve still got about a season and a half to go in my marathon watching, and I am going to be quite sad once I’ve caught up and don’t have any more new episodes to just load up and watch for hours at a time.

Siren is still the best bipolymermaid canon show around. I mean, it’s probably the only bipolymermaid canon show around but STILL. It is Delightful.

Succession, I feel, got even deeper into the family dysfunction this season and I was digging it. That smile at the end of the season finale? HEH. 

Trinkets was an adorable little show on Netflix that I felt showed female teen friendship in a pretty accurate light. 

Veronica Mars was - well. I actually really enjoyed most of the season right up until that fucking ending. I know a lot of fans were soured on the entire season, but I could make a case for all of it IF IT HADN’T ENDED THAT WAY. So yea, not a happy fan. I’m probably never going to be able to see the show the same to be honest. It’s not a good feeling.

Shows I didn’t get to but might?? IDK? Fear the Walking Dead. I kinda burned myself out on TWD and didn’t finish the last 9 eps from last season and then didn’t watch Fear this summer and have yet to start TWD this fall, so IDK. Maybe I’ll try and pick it back up at some point or maybe I’ll decide all those eps are clogging up my DVR and give it up eventually. Only time will tell!

Time for You to Come Home for Christmas (Hallmark Movies & Mysteries, 2019)

Thank you for ruining croissants for me forever.

Plot Synopsis: Two years after losing her husband, Katherine braces for bittersweet memories as she and her son return to her Virginia hometown for Christmas. Meeting up with old friends her first night there, she is surprised to see Jack, her erstwhile seat-mate on the train to Virginia. A guitarist, Jack volunteered to play at the town’s annual Christmas dance benefiting military families. Katherine and Jack grow close, though she remains perplexed by his decision to spend Christmas away from his own family. But there is purpose to Jack’s journey that will ultimately lead to a new beginning for them both. (x)

In My Humble Opinion: It took me three days to finish Time for You to Come Home for Christmas. Three days! On Sunday night I started it and then realized it wasn’t Sunday, it was Monday at 1 AM and I needed to get some sleep because I had work. Then on Monday night I started it, only to remember that the Sling DVR app on Chromecast has a personal vendetta against me and thus it would not allow me to finish the movie after getting about halfway through. Finally last night, I was able to complete the damn thing. 

It felt like more of a victory against humanity than a laidback good time. That’s not Blake Shelton’s fault though, I guess. He just wanted to make another ridiculously named movie about people going home for Christmas. Throw in a weepy military story and a cute kid and a bakery that may close down. Have some music. Be generally pleasant and fine. The male lead is tall and wears coats and scarves well. That’s cool. Most everything about Time for You to Come Home for Christmas is fine.

It still felt like a marathon watching it though. I’m still exhausted now that it’s done. It’s time for me to go to my bed for a nap, you know? (God, those movie titles are so grammatically messy. I don’t even know how this series can continue without destroying the concept of syntax in its entirety.)

Watch If: You think strangers are the best people to poor your heart out to, if you normally sit on the left at the movies or if you’d rather have a bakery than a gastropub in the center of your town.

Skip If: You only need one partners solitaire game to make a friend, if your dream job is to work at a bank or if you think Teddy is a weird nickname for Edward.
