OMG, this is a FREE YouTube SCORE!!!
This is a formative Gen X classic for all the fantasy girlies out there...
Not a stitch of CGI...
A bunch of rhyming couplets,
Tim Curry in full devil's costume (my first crush yall, don't judge!!! For some it was Jareth for me, DARKNESS!!),
Oona, the BEST fairy I've ever seen on film,
my favorite goblin Alice Playten as Blix
SO MUCH GLITTER....
The one costume I'd cosplay...Lily in full Darkness gown...
And a constantly squatting Tom Cruise, pre-Scientology
They even captured some real live unicorns to be in this movie yall!! (not really)
It's LEGEND!!!!!
With the theatrical synth score by Tangerine Dream

I don’t mean this in any sort of mean way, I’m asking genuinely, but why is Dark Choco so widely shipped, whether with canon characters or OCs?
Like he has so many ships, whether they be common or rarepairs. Sure he’s popular, but even other popular characters I don’t think have as many as him. Like, with most of them, you can easily point their most popular ship or two. But with Dark Choco, he has several, and I don’t even know which one is the most popular
Like there’s darkvelvet, which I assume is currently the most popular, but I don’t think it always has been. Darkmilk is…contentious to say the least, but it is still very well known. And you have other big ones like darklico, darkwolf, darkwhip (which I’m told is one of the ancient popular ships), just to name a few. And a lot of the ships vary wildly between the kinds of characters
What is the appeal of Dark Choco to make him so widely shippable?

I think I’ve finally put my finger on the reason why I (and people in general) love to watch “kids’ shows” when they are older teens and adults: because empathy and love, especially platonic love, are arguably humans’ most valuable trait and yet, in our society and in “realistic” media is treated as a weakness or at least at odds with being successful. Like, empathy isn’t even unique to humans, it’s found in and is integral to so many species of animals (and maybe even plants too!!), especially what we consider to be some of the most fearsome predators like lions and wolves. But humans have have “gone all in on” empathy and the capacity to form bonds with other humans, even outside familial circles, which is the reason we outlived the homo erectus which lived at the same time as humans since we were able to form larger communities. And all that’s to say that seeing shows where moral goodness is synonymous with empathy and friendship and wins the day is probably very satisfying for our brains since we don’t often see empathy treated as the essential part of us that it is.
That’s why shows like Hilda or Kipo and the Age of the Wonderbeasts are my personal favorites because the main characters’ defining trait is being empathetic and is, at least in the beginning, their only way of avoiding trouble. And these shows in particular feature the main characters advancing the plot and achieving heroic feats through simply talking it out and generally being a kind and helpful person. When I first watched these shows I, admittedly, saw such events as cheesy, but when I took time to think about it, it not only makes sense why it worked, but was quite literally the best possible way to fix the problem at hand because empathy is a very natural thing for humans and is literally how we have become the apex species so of course it can work when someone gives it a chance.
It’s human nature to be kind and empathetic and is why it’s so satisfying to see it spotlit in kids shows.

An accessory you appreciate
I weirdly love card-randomizers for in-game inspiration. I have a deck of attack description cards, a full set of all the Backstory Cards, the classic BitD Heist deck, and so on. I’m acutely aware that these would be as (or maybe more) useful as random tables. But I dig cards.
Two accessories come to mind as ones I'm really excited about right now. The first is the Deals in the Dark deck from Evil Hat. They have a set of four of these, but this one really caught my eye. Coming up with Devil’s Bargains and even sometimes costs/consequences can be a road bump when I’m running. My mind’s pushing forward and suddenly I have to switch gears. Too often I find myself going back to the same well to answer.
This deck has cards broken into three levels: low, moderate, and high risk. Each card then has appropriate suggestions in four categories. Character "An opponent swears vengeance on you. Start a Faction Clock as they begin to plan". Threat "A foe is propelled into an adjacent space, attracting attention to the clash." Heist "You indulge in a vice along with others while on the job, taking a Lesser harm of “Dazed.”" Crew "Fallout from your boldness or demands means a Contact needs help with a social event…" Those examples all come from a Low Risk card.
I don’t know if I’ll actually be drawing these cards to resolve things, but I will be looking through them for inspiration before a Forged in the Dark session or during the breaks. They’re like flashcards to get my mind primed for play.
The other accessory I’ve been pleased with is a little more niche and situational. If you have friends in your circle who collect & play Magic the Gathering, ask them if they have extras of the art cards. Each recent MTG set has a series of art cards (about 80) which aren’t really collectible. Or at least most of them go for cheap. Collectors can end up with lots of duplicates, even if they collect a full set.
I have a friend who hands these off to me. I have stuff from Kaldheim on. In a couple of cases I bought full sets of these off ebay really cheap. I also finished out some sets by buying particular cards for upwards of .25 cents at online shops. They’re good inspiration and great character, monster, and location references for fantasy games played face-to-face.

4 / 100 days of productivity
logged my classes today! I'll be studying the following: History of monument care, Medieval art in Czech lands, Introduction to studying art history, Art of European middle ages, History of urbanization and urbanism, Terminology seminar, Museum and gallery education, Heuristics and imaging methods, and hopefully Latin for historians if they let me in even though it's full. I'm praying they will, because there's like a scholarship for people who do every mandatory subject in the first semester of their studies and have good grades. otherwise I had a study friend-date with Moss in a library, at a really tiny table, I got a new ISIC card, studied some more and went to a pub Moss works at. I feel kinda bad this evening though, not sure why, so I'm gonna postpone reading to tomorrow and go to bed early i guess. nothing happened im probably just tired
photos:
1) study setup, afterwards I put the further notebook vertically so it was held up by the laptop
2) a beautiful house I saw in Ostrava
3) a cool dog sticker
4) the book I'm reading! it's about depictions of Death in the late middle ages in Czech countries and one of my teachers wrote it! it's super interesting but quite a hard read. it takes time but it's SO worth it

I got hit with the writing bug at midnight and now it's 330am and I just want you to know that I am writing some absolutely wretched fanfic. I will post it, under my old penname because I don't want it following me to my current one, but oh boy, love it or hate it I do not want to know what anyone thinks about it. The initial idea came up 3 years ago when my brother and I fell out and I was reading about lobotomies at work and... I just needed needed needed to mash together the worst characteristics of my immediate family with the worst characteristics of my ex-in-laws and then project that onto an old love.

The industrialization of art
In the cavernous depths of the digital age, a sinister specter looms over the once hallowed halls of artistic expression. Welcome to the era of industrialized art, where the delicate tapestry of human creativity is torn asunder by the cold, calculating hands of technology.
Imagine a world where every stroke of the brush, every word penned, every note sung, is not the product of passion, soul, and humanity, but merely the output of an algorithmic assembly line. Canvases are churned out by the thousands, their vibrant colors muted by the soulless efficiency of mass production. Novels are generated at the speed of light, their plots recycled ad infinitum in an endless loop of digital replication.
In this dystopian-like landscape, where art itself is mass produced like boxes and machinery, the very essence of art itself is commodified, stripped of its intrinsic value and reduced to mere digits on a screen. Paintings, poems, symphonies, and soul touching stories of humanity all are rendered indistinguishable from one another, their uniqueness drowned out by the deafening roar of automation.
But let us not forget the human cost of this relentless march towards instant progress. Just as the artisans and craftsmen in history were swept aside by the tidal wave of industrialization, where products produced by their careful hands took too long to come into existence compared to the machines. So too are the poets and painters of today faced with obsolescence in the face of artificial intelligence. Those who once poured their hearts and souls into their craft find themselves outpaced and outgunned by machines that know no fatigue, no emotion, no empathy, and so the rise of capitalism. Consider the poets who once spun verse from the fabric of their dreams, now relegated to the dustbin of history by lines of code. Reflect on the painters whose brushstrokes once captured the essence of the human spirit, now lost in the cacophony of digital noise. It is also perhaps the capitalization of art.
For in the end, the true tragedy of industrialized art lies not in the loss of creativity, but in the loss of humanity itself. And as we stand on the precipice of this brave new world, remember that the soul of art will always lie in the hands of those who dare to defy the machines, and keep the flame of creativity burning bright in the darkness.
But perhaps, if we stop and think, the most chilling of all is the realization that even this very piece of writing, these words you are reading right now, may have been born not from the depths of a human mind, but from the cold, unfeeling algorithms of an artificial intelligence. Yes, dear reader, even as you ponder the implications of industrialized art, you may unwittingly find yourself in the thrall of the very phenomenon you seek to understand.
For in the end, does it truly matter whether these words were crafted by man or machine? Does it matter whether they sprang forth from the mind of a human soul or were merely pieced together by lines of code? The answer, dear reader, lies not in the origin of these words, but in the impact they have on your consciousness. And in that regard, perhaps the true artistry lies not in the creation of the work itself, but in the mystery of its creation~ a mystery that may forever remain hidden

H&M has been SO ugly for the past like 9 months. I don't buy new clothes, but I like to check out what's out and it's rough.
I hate the Y2K fashion that's out mostly and I hate the 70s revival, but going back to minimalist fashion is like, boring, because that was 8 years ago already
