Decoding Complexity: Mastering UML with Expert Guidance
Welcome to the realm of UML, where abstract ideas meet concrete solutions, and the language of diagrams speaks volumes. At DatabaseHomeworkHelp.com, we understand the challenges that come with UML assignments, and our experts are here to guide you through even the toughest topics. In this blog, we'll explore a complex UML topic, provide master-level sample questions and answers, and demonstrate how our experts can provide the assistance you need. If you find yourself saying, "Help with UML homework," you've come to the right place.
Topic: "Dynamic Modeling with Sequence Diagrams in UML"
Dynamic modeling in UML, specifically through sequence diagrams, offers a powerful way to visualize the interactions and flow of messages between objects in a system. Let's delve into some master-level sample questions and answers to showcase the depth of this topic.
Sample Questions:
1. Design a sequence diagram for an online shopping system where a user adds items to the cart, proceeds to checkout, and completes the purchase. Highlight user interactions and system responses.
Answer:
uml
@startuml actor User participant Cart participant Checkout participant Payment User -> Cart: Add items to cart activate Cart Cart -> Checkout: Proceed to checkout activate Checkout Checkout -> Payment: Complete purchase activate Payment Payment --> Checkout: Confirmation deactivate Payment Checkout --> Cart: Confirmation deactivate Checkout Cart --> User: Order confirmation deactivate Cart @enduml
2. Implement a Java code snippet for a class involved in the sequence diagram above, demonstrating the handling of cart operations.
Answer:
java
public class ShoppingCart { private List<Item> items = new ArrayList<>(); public void addItem(Item item) { items.add(item); } public List<Item> getItems() { return items; } // Other relevant methods... }
3. Explain the use of asynchronous messages in a sequence diagram and provide an example scenario where they are beneficial.
Answer: Asynchronous messages in UML sequence diagrams represent interactions where the sender does not need to wait for a response. For example, in a messaging system, a user might send a message to another user without waiting for an immediate reply. This non-blocking communication allows for increased system responsiveness and efficiency.

THE PERFECT MOTHER â Ultimate 'Mom' DR Scripting Pack à Ë. á”á”
â â Iâve never seen someone so naturally meant to be a parent â
(Anon request! hope u enjoy :3)

âł 01 âËâż Your touch is a cure-all. Whether itâs a scraped knee or a bad day, a simple hand on the back/forehead kiss melts away any discomfort.
âł 02 âËâż You never run out of patience, even for 'silly' things. Spilled juice? Whatever. Endless questions? No problem. A meltdown over something random? Take your time, weâll figure it out.
âł 03 âËâż Youâre immune to getting your hair pulled, earrings yanked, and eyes poked. A toddler could grab a fistful of your hair and yank with full force, and you wouldnât even flinch.
âł 04 âËâż Your intuition is almost supernatural. You just know when your child is about to get sick or when theyâre lyingâeven before they realize it themselves.
âł 05 âËâż You never forget the small detailsâyou remember everything, from their first words to their small habits or things they love.
âł 06 âËâż Your voice is just so soothing, even other kids fall asleep when you humâone lullaby verse in, and theyâre out like a light.
âł 07 âËâż Everything in balance: you're warm but firm, fun but responsibleâyour kids respect you without fearing you and trust you without taking advantage.
âł 08 âËâż ClichĂ© advise? never. You donât hit your kids with generic speechesâyou know exactly how to word things so they actually hear you, and in a way it will actually stick with them (positively ofc).
âł 09 âËâż You instantly detect lies without making a big deal out of itâyou know the truth but handle it in a way that doesnât embarrass anyone.
âł 10 âËâż Every child dreads medicine, except yoursâeither by crushing it up and mixing it or using a distraction, you make medicine actually taste nice.
âł 11 âËâż You give the best hugs, the kind that makes bad days disappearâeven when they grow up, theyâll swear nothing feels warmer than being wrapped in your arms.
âł 12 âËâż In your world, yelling, threatening, or bribing aren't a thingâwhen you say âthatâs enough,â it is. Even in the wildest moments, your kids know you mean business.
âł 13 âËâż Cooking while helping with homework while mentally making a grocery list? Effortless.âyouâre a multitasking savant, a human embodiment of efficiency, yet you still make it look easy.
âł 14 âËâż No books? No problem. You weave worlds with your words, creating characters and adventures so vivid that your child begs for a sequel.
âł 15 âËâż You have the ability to remember every friendâs name, every teacherâs name, deadlines, etcâwithout even trying. Itâs like your brain is a live database for their world.
âł 16 âËâż You can do the perfect hairstyle in a time record, effortlesslyâno lumps, loose strands, or hairs falling out of place.
âł 17 âËâż You can remove stains like a magician. Juice, mud, marker, chocolateâyou have a talent for stain removal, making clothes look brand new every time.
âł 18 âËâż Your presence alone can calm down any nervous child. No matter the situation, your kid just needs to hold your hand, and suddenly, everything feels okay.
âł 19 âËâż Before the fever, the snifflesâyou just know. Itâs like your body syncs with theirs, giving you a head start on medicine.
âł 20 âËâż You always give them just the right amount of responsibility. You push them to be independent but never overwhelm them.
âł 21 âËâż You never let them feel like theyâre âtoo much.â Whether theyâre hyper, emotional, quiet, or talkativeâyou make them feel like who they are is never an inconvenience.
âł 22 âËâż You donât mold them into a version of youâyou give them the freedom to grow, explore, and discover who they are, knowing that no matter where life takes them, they will always have you as home.

Daminette December: 7-Mutual Plotting
Adrien lifted the hatch into Marinette's room. He froze at the chaos. Marinette turned to look at him, but all he saw was a conspiracy board on how to murder Lila. Adrien, quickly came back to his senses, climbed I and closed the door.
"What the fuck, Mari?" he whisper-shouted.
"Shhhh!" She shushed him, "See, if I can plan it carefully, I won't be caught."
Marinette smiled and turned back to admire her handiwork.
Adrien sighed, "Claws out."
Damian was at school when his emergency line rang. It was untraceable through the Justice League database.
"What did I say about phones, Mr. Wayne?" his teacher complained.
Damian stood up, grabbing his things, "It's my father and it says 'emergency'. He knows not to call me during school."
"Mr. Wayne." they growled.
"You can call him yourself, with the principal and our lawyer present." Damian declared walking out, "Emergency calls are authorized."
Damian sat in his car and sighed. He hadn't been using the 'Wayne' authority for awhile and had come to hate it as much as the 'Al Ghul' fame. Damian activated the soundproof windows and redialed the last number, on the hidden screen in the car.
"What is it?" He growled out, "Expect a call-"
"Uh, Birdy." Chat Noir spoke.
"Pussycat?" Damian replied, not expecting him to be on the line, "Why are you calling me?"
"I walked in on Minibug planning a murder." Chat admitted, turning the phone towards Marinette's wall and hideaway calendar, "She has evidence, everywhere. Think Bernard's board for 'Do the Butts Match?'"
'Habibiti.'
Damian sighed, "Yes."
His screen was suddenly filled with poster boards, papers, and strings.
"What happened?" Damian questioned.
"Well....today Lila pulled another stunt and Minibug went home early, but with all these papers, I don't know how long she's been planning." Chat Noir confessed, "It might also be because she's tired. There's been akumas every night this past week."
"Can you get rid of it?" Robin asked.
"She's not gonna like it , but you got it." Chat smiled, "Cataclysm."
Damian watched as everything vanished with a simple touch.
"How is she not screaming at you?" He wondered, out loud.
"Oh." Chat chuckled, moving the camera over to Marinette, "She didn't hear me transform and I tied her up with my tail. She fell asleep."
"I have a few calls to make." Damian responded, ending the call.
'Okay. Now, that the murder problem is solved, what do I do about you?'
Chat detransformed and looked at Marinette passed out. He carefully lifted her up and brought them to the ground.
"Tom!" he shouted, "Sabine!"
The couple rushed upstairs and found him scared, holding their daughter.
"What?" Sabine began.
"I don't know!" Adrien shouted frantically, "We-We were talking and then-Then she suddenly passed out!"
Sabine rushed over, checking for a fever.
"She was yawning and rubbing her eyes a lot." Adiren confessed, "She seemed tired these last couple days in class. Has she been really busy? I could help her with homework if she doesn't understand something!"
"She didn't tell us about any projects." Sabine replied.
"As far as we know, shes only been babysitting Manon." Tom answered, "Maybe twice a week. Three if it's important, but Nadia always checks if it's okay and it's not interrupting her schedule."
Adrien hid his scowl. He knew Alya and Nino were dumping their younger siblings on her if they saw her out and about. It seemed like her parents didnt know.
'I'll handle those two myself.'
"Why dont you head back to school, Son." Tom spoke.
"Hes right, Dear." Sabine suggested, "We can keep an eye on her and if anything changes, we'll take her to the doctor."
Adrien nodded his head and picked up his things, leaving the bakery.
'Thank you Father for the acting lessons. Onto phase two.'
"Hey!" Nino called out, "Where were you?"
Adrien smiled through his internal rage, "With Marinette."
"You were?" Alya questioned.
"Well, not that long." He answered, "She collapsed."
"What?" They cried out.
"Is she okay?" Alya pushed.
"I don't know. Her parents are keeping her home." The model answered, "We were talking and then her eyes rolled back and she fell!"
"Her parents couldn't figure out why. They said she isn't busy with projects right now and she's only been babysitting Manon, with her parent's permission." He announced, seeing them wince, "They said they might just close the bakery and take her to the hospital."
He watched as they looked over to the bakery with the 'CLOSED' sign now in full view. Adrien saw them pale and glance at each other. He knew he had gotten them worried.
'No one hurts M'Lady.'
Adrien strolled in after Nino and Alya, as they silently walked to their seats and hunched over.
"Ms. Bustier, Marinette is staying home." He announced, for the class to hear, "Her parents should be calling in soon; they might be taking her to the hospital."
"What happened?" Asked Rose.
"She collapsed during lunch." Adrien spoke, "We don't know why. She doesn't have a fever and she hasn't been too busy; just homework and babysitting."
He studied their faces and saw some had the decency to look ashamed.
"The doctor's note should say-" Lila interrupted.
"Why would she need a doctor's note?" Adrien questioned, "I just told Ms. Bustier. She can takes your word for it all the time or is mine not good enough?"
Everyone remained silent, in shock. They had never seen Adrien get like this, so upset.
"No!" Lila shouted, trying to back peddle, "That's not it, Adrien!"
"Then, Mari will be back and when she's back, she won't need a not." he growled out.
"No, Adrien-" Caline tried to interject.
"What if she's faking?" Lila called out.
Chloe stood up suddenly, "I can get Daddy to check hospital records if your all so worried and while he's doing it, we can get Lila's too."
Llila smiled, "I got to Italy for my treatments so-"
"Then, your passport records should be fine." the mayor's daughter scoffed, "Daddy doesn't have trouble talking to ambassadors."
"I wouldn't want to be a hassle." Lila pointed out.
Chloe smiled, "I can call him, right now, and get it over with. He does what I tell him."
Lila looked between Adrien and Chloe. They were smirking. They knew they had her cornered; if she pushed more about Mairnette, they would reveal everything.
"I'm sure....Marinette will tell us when she's better." Lila commented and kept her mouth shut.
Adrien took one look at Chloe and nodded, before sitting down.
Adrien let the class know the next day that Marinette was hospitalized and had to stay there for a few days. He could see that many felt bad for her, but Alya, Nino and Caline wore the guiltiest faces of them all.
'It's not like I could tell them she was tired from all the akumas. If they feel guilty, maybe they have something to be guilty about.'
When Marinette woke up, her parents demanded to know what had been going on. The doctors had told them she was mentally drained and dehydrated. Marinette looked between her parents and the doctors and broke down, realizing her miraculous was gone.
"Alya and Nino have been forcing me to babysit their siblings. Miss Bustier has been making me do so much work! She wants me to stay later and tutor people when I'm already doing so much. Then there's Manon and the bakery! My homework! I need to work on my designs!" Marinette sobbed out, "Then, there's all the akumas! Everyoen is being mean and I'm trying not to get akumatized!"
Sensing her distress, the doctor gave her a sedative so she could sleep without worry of akumas.
When Adrien arrived, he could see they were unhappy.
"Is Marinette okay?" He questioned, seeing their faces.
"Did you know?" Tom asked, "Did you know about the extra work she was doing?"
Adrien sighed as he closed the door, "Not at first; not until the day before. Marinette complained to me. She said she didn't get a choice. She would be out with Manon and the kids would suddenly run up to her, with Alya and Nino nowhere in sight. When she asked where they were, they answered that they would pick them up in two hours at the park."
"I didnt know she hadn't told you, until she collapsed." He confessed.
"You tell those two, they are banned from our bakery for two years." Sabine commanded.
"Yes, Ma'am." The model answered, "I did tell them that Marinette collapsed and how we were worried since she shouldn't be that tired from babysitting one kid."
"And?" Tom pressed.
"They have been quiet ever since." He declared, "They arent talking to anyone and most of the time keeping their heads down, like waiting to be scolded. I might have laid my concern on a bit too thick; they might believe they are the reason she is here."
"From our perspective, they did." Sabine replied.
"Another thing." Adrien winced, "I may....have told Damian, she was here."
"We'll call him." Tom spoke, softly, "You have a full schedule as well."
"Make sure you're getting rest, Dear." Sabine stated. Adrien nodded and left the room.
It had been almost a month, when the class saw Marinette again. She was walking with a guy. Alya and Nino sighed in relief. They quickly ran up to her.
"You're okay! Rose cried out.
"Are you completely better?" Asked Mylene.
"Are you coming back to school tomorrow?" Questioned Nathaniel.
"Ms. Bustier has been different since you've been gone." Announced Kim.
"No." Mari announced, "I'm never going back to that school."
"What?" Spoke Nino.
"But you're the class representative!" Alya shouted.
"You can take over, Alya." Marinette replied, "I'm sure the class rep duties will be .....significantly lessened with the board carefully watching."
"What do you mean?" Asked Juleka.
"Your teacher was forcing Marinette to do her own work." The guy announced, "She also signed her up for activities to ease your burdens, as your grades were poor. Before her collapse, she demanded Marinette begin tutoring, the likes of you."
"Wait. What?" Spoke Ivan.
"What does he mean?" Kim questioned.
"Who is this guy?" Alya demanded.
"Her boyfriend, Damian." Adrien announced, "Hey."
"Agreste." Damian nodded, "Thank you for informing me about her condition."
"Wait!" Nino shouted, "You knew?"
"That Mari had a boyfriend?" Adrien asked, "Of course, I knew. Mari's my best friend."
Marinette groaned, "Don't you know how much of a fuss he's been putting me through? You're lucky I'm not super gluing feathers to you!"
"Don't be so rude, Marinette. She can be so cruel." Lila spoke up, "Are you sure she's your girlfriend-girlfriend?"
"Bitch!" Marinette shouted, surprising them, "If I kill you are you dead-dead or just not breathing?"
Damian chuckled, "Okay, Angel. Obviously, you are still tired. We should return."
"What?" Questioned Lila, horrified.
"She's tired." Adrien stated, as if they hadn't just heard Damian speak.
"Did you not hear her threaten Lila?" Alya snapped back.
"It was a simple question," Damian declared, "but if she wants to feel threatened, it is a simple task."
The class looked between Lila, Marinette and her boyfriend, and Adrien, who was happily smiling.
"Uh, Dude." Nino spoke up, "Your best friend is a little bit psycho and so is her boyfriend. You might need a new one."
"Nah." Adrien brushed off, "Princess only gets like this when she's super tired. It must be what happens with Lila. Mari never remembers when she sleep talks. The meds said they would make her drowsy, right?"
"Yes." Damian answered, "We got smoothies from the shop she goes to with Tsurugi-san. We were on our way back."
Adrien nodded his head in understanding, "So, when is the move?"
"Move?" Nino piped up.
"Is he moving away?" asked Alix.
"He talked to Mari's parents and convinced them to allow Mari to move in with his family, in the states." Adrien announced, nonchalantly, "Damian is over protective and his family is always making sure no one is stressed out."
"You make her sound like an object." Lila commented.
The model scoffed, "There's two overprotective people together."
"Marinette isn't overprotective." Alya declared.
"She doesn't lock her diary in a box that traps a thief's hands in it? She doesn't show anyone her designs and keeps a locker, in town, full of her things?" Adrien questioned, with a smile, " Perhaps, you never knew Mari at all, so-called ex-best friend. Mari could defend me for days because I did something wrong. When was the last time she defended any of you?"
'Defend?'
The Agreste heir glared at them, taking his stance next to the couple, "Don't you realize you are partially to blame for her leaving?"
"But Miss Bustier-" Rose began, uncomfortably.
"You're also the reason why Mari wasn't sleeping or eating!" Adrien shouted, pointing to Alya and Nino, "Tossing your siblings at her because it was convenient for you! Having them run up to her as you walk away, so she can't say no! Hell, you don't even talk anymore!"
"Why do you all go to her for help?" Adrien continued to shout, "She isn't the only artist in class! Are Alix and Nathaniel not good enough? Both Max and I have excellent grades, as well!"
Everyone looked down, never expecting the scolding. They had come to rely on Marinette so much, they hadn't realized the pressure they had put her under until now and it took Adrien to tell them.
"I'm okay." Marinette spoke up, hugging Adrien.
Damian swiftly scooped her up, "I'm taking her home. She doesn't need to be here, with them."
Adrien nodded, "I'll see you at dinner tomorrow." and with that, the couple was gone.
"Adrien." Nino called out.
"You guys pushed her so hard, she hadn't slept in almost a week." Adrien spoke softly, "It can cause neurological damage. You guys have been mean to her in school. She was just trying to meet you expectations; she was trying to be your friend."
"Wait, how long has Mari been dating that guy?" questioned Mylene, "Her parents wouldn't just let her move into a stranger's home."
"Three years." Adrien answered.
"What?" asked Alix.
Rose perked up, "What about her bullying Lila?"
The model rolled his eyes, "Mari never bullied her."
"Yes she did." Alya shouted, "Marinette wanted to date you!"
" Well, I asked her out and got rejected." Adrien announced, "She did admit that she liked me when Lila moved here, but she was getting over me. Marinette helped me get with my ex-girlfriend, Kagami, despite her feelings for me. By the time I asked her out, she was already with Damian. Lial has been lying to you and getting you to harass Mari."
"But....Why are you saying all of this now?" asked Nathaniel, getting increasingly frustrated.
"Oh, I told Alya and Nino years ago." he said, showing off his model smile, "They thought it was 'cute' that I was trying to defend Mari and be her 'knight in shining armor'. Doesn't matter now, though."
"What do you mean?" asked Kim, as people turned to look at the couple.
"Like I said before, her boyfriend is overprotective and Mari finds it cute. Her parents adore him. They think she's in good hands and so do I." Adrien replied, "Damian is known for not putting up with anyone's shit and breaking bones, if people get in his way. His mother raised him to believe that women were criminal masterminds, looking for the next big catch."
Lila unknowingly flinched.
The model smiled, "She taught him to fight and that anyone was an opponent. He is trained in several martial arts and banned from several competitions because he was trained since he could walk."
"I know Mari will always be protected and no one will ever hurt her again." He continued, glaring at them, "No more torn up homework. No more getting tripped in the halls. No more unnecessary work. I can guarantee that if Damian ever saw it happening to Mari, he wouldn't hold back. Bruce tells him he's too advanced and he could cause some serious damage to someone if he went all out. Damian wouldn't care and I would be cheering him on."
Adrien walked away leaving them stunned.
"Why didn't you tell us that Adrien told you Lila was a liar?" Questioned Ivan.
"Huh?" Nino answered, still in shock, "Uh, we...just thought he was...that Adrien wanted to help her. It was out of nowhere!"
"Why did you dump your siblings with Marinette?" Countered Nathaniel.
"She always helped before. She could be trusted-" Alya began.
"Trusted enough to look out for little kids, but not enough to be you friend?" Juleka pressed.
"It sounds like she was never given the chance to reject you...generous offer." Max countered.
Agitated, Alya shouted back, "What about your theatre's club backdrop?"
Everyone quickly turned against each other, fighting over who had pushed Marinette pass her limit. Who had pissed off Adrien? While they were busy arguing, Lila slipped away, tossing away her wig.
'Well, that school was a bust. Back to being Cerise.'

Soooooo, Iâve been off the web and Iâm suddenly seeing all this AI taking over AO3 happening.
Bots harassing people and another AI taking fics for databasesâ like why???????? Itâs fanfiction, itâs mostly ADHD, Autism, Dyslexia, Hyper-fixation ramblings, and pure emotion for something the writer loves. Why in the world would anyone do this? Why are people taking the long and hard work, blood sweat and tears, literal history from 13 year olds or older or younger???? Any age actually???? Why? Why are people being so scummy that real life scum wouldnât want to grow in their general vicinity?
Like, whatâs the goal? Just to steal? Steal the Declaration of Independence at this rate, heck take the Mona Lisaâ oh wait, Chat Gbt didnât give you the right information and now your in police custody. Shame, youâll need Oceanâs 8 and 11 to pull you out. No wait, youâll need Audrey Hepburn to steal a million dollars for bail.
Ya know, I remember a time where art theft and book plagiarism was an actual crime that took effort to pull off. The mapping, planning, the get away car, the fights, and the sneaking people had to do was a big ass job. Now itâs a, guess whoâs stealing Jennyâs fanfiction this week! Featuring Musklords and The Mother Board as themselves! Now staring the Dulingo Bird, Your Mom! And AO3, all being played by Markiplier! Directed by Hayao Miyazakiâ coming out on YOUR BIRTHDAY!!!
Idk what to do, but Iâm getting sad and a bit pissed off.
Edit: Aaaaand I just realized that I spelled Chat GPT as GBT. Whatever, that site doesnât deserve my respect, itâs called GBT now. Garbage Bin Tech.
Edit: Know that this is not a death treat. I understand that this post calls people that use AI as Criminals. In truth, that is harsh and untrue. The creators of those tools, aka, the CEOs and whoever are involved with the brains of those ideas are the real culprits. Those who buy in and use AI are varied with their goals. Some do use AI to scam and be scummy. But others are just kids who are trying to get by in school. Or, people want to use it for fun. I understand why people use it, I just donât agree with it.
My parents look at AI like itâs a new technologyâ similar to the internet. They donât use it, but they say it wonât be going anywhere and that we have to accept it. Truthfully and respectfully, not true: AI canât do anything we already do. Itâs not being used to help the public. It should be used to help people with disabilities so they can speak and whatnotâ NOT STEAL ACTORS VOICES AND USE THEM IN MOVIES AND ADS THEY DIDNâT ENDORSE. Itâs taken critical thinking away, killing the planet faster, and scamming hundreds if not thousands, and using other peopleâs hard work to make CEOs richer. This is a Teen Dystopia Novel, change my mind.
Instead of ignoring the problem and making AI solve it, why not go at the roots and pull them out like the ancients of old? There are many problems, but AI is only a bandaid the size of a pea that is slowly rotting with the gash in our skin. It wonât make the pain go away, and it definitely wonât get better.
If your a tutor, help kids with their homework. If your a teacher, say students get a better grade if they donât use AI. And if your a parent, help your kid.
AI should get a big ass water mark with every generation, and get fined for not doing so. Like, a big ass fine.

Bring Me Home Arc 2 Part 20: FINAL
So guess what I realized this morning. Today, November 13, 2023 is the one year anniversary of me posting my first DPxDC fic to tumblr. It was the original fill for this very fic. (Which you can find here.)
So I decided I just had to finish this arc and get it posted. This year has been amazing and so much fun. I've become a much better writer and joined a community that has brought me so much joy. I'm glad to be here and I'm glad so many of you like to read what I'm sharing.
I noticed I got a few new readers over the past week or so, so welcome to all of you! Hope you enjoy this early update!
In personal news, my nephew was born and he's adorable and I'll be meeting him tomorrow! (As soon as I'm done posting this, I'm off to make food for his mom.)
Story Summary: Tim and Danny are both neglected by parents who care more about their work than their families. They deal with this by spending too much time online and find each other playing MMORPGs. They keep up their friendship as Tim becomes Robin and Danny becomes Phantom and don't bother keeping secrets from each other.
Arc 1
Arc 2: Part 1, Previous
Word Count: 1.2k
-----
In the end, it ended up taking several hours for Danny, Sam, and Tucker to escape their families and converge on the park. In that time, Tim had called Bruce to let him know heâd be back in Gotham by tomorrow and finished most of his homework.
While he worked, Wulf and Bart were having an animated conversation in Esperanto.
Tim was pretty sure Wulf would be bringing Bart to the Ghost Zone for a tour sometime and started making plans to learn Esperanto himself and bribe Bart to get in on them.
Cassie was helping Conner sort through some of the music Sam had given him. Tim was jealous as he solved more banal trig questions. Why did school have to be so boring? He tapped his pencil on the paper in time to the beat of whatever music Conner had playing.
Tucker was the first to arrive. âDanny and Sam not here yet?â he asked as he plopped down next to Bart and Wulf.
âNope. Havenât heard from them, either,â said Tim. He opened his phone notifications again just to be sure, but there was nothing new.
Tucker shrugged and pulled out a stick of jerkey to munch on. âNot surprising. The Fentons will be all overprotective after the mayor was kidnapped by a ghost on live TV. And Samâs parents are just as bad. Only they smother rather than check the weaponry.â He turned to greet Wulf in Esperanto.
An email came through on Timâs phone and he groaned. âOur evening interview was canceled. No one wants to hear us try to defend Phantom anymore.â
Cassie cursed. âCourse not. Bet the paper wonât publish our editorials either.â
Conner looked over, confused. âWonât they? Clark works for the Daily Planet. They publish stuff like that all the time.â
Tim didnât look up from his math as he answered, âThatâs the difference between a big, Pulitzer winning publication and a small-town op-ed.â
Tucker sighed. âWell maybe someone will remember your interviews from this morning in a positive light.â
Bart rolled his eyes. âCome on, we canât change it. So letâs move forward. Next step, make friends with more ghosts! Wulf says thereâs a bunch of cool people in the Realms.â
âRealms?â asked Tim.
âItâs what he says the Ghost Zone is actually called. The Infinite Realms.â
âHuh. Iâll have to check JL databases, see if they have any information on them.â
Tucker asked something in Esperanto and Bart burst out laughing as Wulf looked on in confusion.
With Bartâs help, though, he rephrased until Wulf was able to reply. And then the three kept to Esperanto. Tim really had to find time to learn it.
Sam was the next to arrive. She grinned and sat down next to Conner. âHow you liking the music?â
Conner grinned and showed her the sheets where he ranked the bands so far based on which songs heâd listened to. She then took over the speakers and searched for specific tracks to try and change his mind about some of the bands he liked the least.
Tim let his eyes close as his friendsâ voices washed over him.
After some indeterminate time where he dozed between sleeping and awareness, a foot nudged his hip. Tim grumbled out what was supposed to be a, âWhat?â but was too mumbled to really be understood.
âCome on, Secrets. You can do better than that.â
Tim cracked an eye open to see Danny grinning down at him. He pushed himself up slightly and blinked heavily in the sunlight.
âFinally got away from your parents?â asked Tim.
Danny collapsed on the ground next to him. âUgh, donât remind me. Theyâre freaking out over everything thatâs happened the last few days. Jazz and I are basically going to be on lock down until they feel confident the ghosts are gone.â
âDid you have to sneak out to get here?â asked Cassie.
Danny shook his head. âNo, I told them I was going to find you guys to make sure you were all safe. Youâre welcome to come back to ours tonight, by the way. Mom and Dad basically insisted on it.â
âWhat do you guys think?â asked Tim. âSpend one more night here at Dannyâs and head out in the morning?â
Cassie sighed. âMy momâs already freaking out that Iâve been gone longer than planned. I should get back tonight.â
âIâll stay,â offered Conner. âIâm your ride home, anyway.â
âWhy donât you come to my place, Conner,â offered Sam. âYour nails need a fresh coat after fighting today. And I need teach you about the different brands of makeup and what to look for in terms of cost, quality, and ethicality. Plus I can get you more music.â
Tim laughed when Conner looked to him. âGo for it. Have fun.â
Conner grinned. âThen yeah, letâs do it!â
Bart shrugged. âWulf is going to go back to the Realms soon. Iâll head out after. Wally and Linda want me over for a family dinner tonight.â
âWell, looks like thatâs it, then,â sighed Danny. âBeen fun having other heroes around.â
Tim nudged his shoulder. âJoin the Young Justice. You could join us and we'd help out whenever you wanted. Get you around people who actually appreciate what you do for them.â
But Danny was already shaking his head. âI have to stay here. And now Amity trusts heroes even less. I want to improve that, not make it worse.â
âEven if you donât join,â declared Conner. âYouâre not getting rid of us now.â
Bart nodded his agreement. âYep. Weâre gonna be stopping by all the time. Youâre in the group chat.â
âExactly,â agreed Tim. âAnd weâll figure out ways to help you. Starting with how to minimize property damage. That seems to be the big thing people focus on. You can make shields, right? How big can you make them and how much power do they take?â
Danny smiled wryly. âCanât say Iâve really tested it.â
Tim laughed. âWell, I know one thing weâre doing tonight. Weâre going to go back to Nasty Burgerââ Tim looked around at the whole group ââall of us. Then Cassie and Bart are going to go home. Danny and I, at least, are going to take a nap. Then weâre gonna test the current limits to Dannyâs powers.â
Danny bumped their shoulders together. âYou know, this is just like gaming with you all those years.â
âYeah, well, itâs best to be thorough.â
âWeâve measured, like, his top speed and stuff,â said Tucker, pulling out a PDA. âWant to see what weâve got so far?â
âAbsolutely.â Tim took the device and looked through it. âYouâve a decent amount of information here. Maybe instead of taking a nap, Iâll help you organize it and come up with a testing plan.â
Conner flew over to him and pulled the PDA out of his hand. âNot after pulling an all-nighter you wonât. Weâre going to get some food, then the two of you are going to sleep for at least four hours.â
âIâll set Jazz on you, too,â threatened Sam. âDonât think I wonât.â
Tim pouted as the device was given back to Tucker. And grumbled more when Conner picked him up and threw him over his shoulder.
âCome on, food time.â
âI am going to put kryptonite in your phone,â threatened Tim.
âBingo!â shouted Cassie.
Danny laughed as he stood. âDoes this mean I can join the next round?â
Tim scowled. âTraitors, all of you.â
-----
Next
And that's the end of this Arc! Arc 3 will pick up where the original fill did. (Only this time, Tim won't be the only DC character there to help Danny.)
I'd say something like I can't believe it's only been a year, but so much has happened to me in the last twelve months that it feels like a lifetime ago, to be honest. But it's been a good year and I'm glad this community has been part of it.
Please follow the subscription post if you want updates for when I start transferring this arc to AO3 or begin posting Arc 3.

Key Concepts in Data Mining: Questions and Solutions for Advanced Learners

Data mining is a vital field of study within computer science that involves discovering patterns and knowledge from large datasets. This process allows organizations and researchers to identify trends, predict outcomes, and uncover hidden insights. For students studying data mining at an advanced level, tackling complex theoretical questions is essential. In this blog, weâll explore a couple of challenging data mining theory questions and provide expert-level solutions. If you're looking for data mining Homework Help, these insights will offer a solid foundation for your understanding.
Question 1: Explain the concept of Association Rule Mining and discuss its significance in data mining.
Association Rule Mining is a technique in data mining used to find interesting relationships or patterns among a set of items in large datasets. It focuses on identifying rules that indicate how the occurrence of one item is associated with the occurrence of another. For example, in retail, Association Rule Mining can help identify that customers who buy bread are likely to also buy butter, forming a strong association between these two products.
This concept relies on three main components:
Support: The frequency of occurrence of an itemset in the dataset.
Confidence: The likelihood that an item Y is bought when item X is bought.
Lift: A measure of the effectiveness of a rule, considering the possibility of the rule occurring by chance.
Association Rule Mining has broad applications, especially in market basket analysis, where businesses use these insights to recommend products to customers, design promotions, and manage inventory. It is also crucial in medical research, fraud detection, and e-commerce, where understanding relationships between variables can lead to better predictions and decisions.
Solution: Association Rule Mining works by generating itemsets from a dataset and applying the aforementioned metrics to identify strong rules. These rules help understand the relationships between different items in the dataset. For instance, retail companies can leverage these patterns to improve cross-selling strategies and enhance customer experience.
The significance of Association Rule Mining in data mining cannot be overstated. It plays a pivotal role in pattern discovery, helping businesses make informed decisions. Its application has revolutionized sectors like retail, healthcare, and even social media, where user behavior patterns are studied to make personalized recommendations.
Question 2: What is Clustering in Data Mining and how does it contribute to data analysis?
Clustering is an unsupervised learning technique in data mining where the goal is to group a set of objects or data points into clusters, such that objects within the same cluster are more similar to each other than to those in other clusters. The primary objective of clustering is to uncover underlying structures or patterns in data without the need for predefined labels.
There are several types of clustering algorithms, including K-means, hierarchical clustering, and DBSCAN. These algorithms vary in their approach, but they all aim to organize data into meaningful groups. Clustering is widely used in applications like customer segmentation, image processing, and anomaly detection, where itâs crucial to understand the inherent structure of data.
Solution: Clustering in data mining can be seen as a tool for exploratory data analysis. By dividing data into clusters, analysts can gain a better understanding of the distribution and relationships of data points. For example, in customer segmentation, businesses can use clustering to group customers with similar purchasing behaviors, allowing for more targeted marketing strategies.
The key advantage of clustering lies in its ability to identify patterns without prior knowledge of the data's structure. This unsupervised nature makes it particularly useful for datasets where the relationships between data points are not immediately obvious.
Different clustering algorithms can be applied depending on the nature of the data and the problem being addressed. K-means is effective when the number of clusters is known in advance and the data is spherical in shape, while hierarchical clustering is more suitable for nested data structures. DBSCAN, on the other hand, is ideal for data that contains noise or outliers.
Conclusion:
Data mining offers a powerful set of tools for analyzing complex datasets and uncovering valuable insights. Both Association Rule Mining and Clustering play key roles in this process, helping organizations understand relationships between variables and group data points based on similarity. The applications of these techniques span a wide range of fields, from retail and marketing to healthcare and beyond.
For students struggling with these topics or those needing detailed explanations, data mining Homework Help is an excellent resource to enhance understanding and achieve academic success. With the right guidance and practice, mastering data mining concepts can lead to a deeper appreciation of the field and its applications in real-world problem-solving.

Sims 4 PokéTypes Legacy Challenge!
Below are some flexible rules. Honestly do whatever makes it fun for you.
Try to limit money cheats! Freerealestate for first house only!
Short or Normal lifespan recommended. Long lifespan allowed, but also thereâs 18 gens, you might not want thatâŠ
Mods and CC are allowed/encouraged!
Extra Hard Mode: You can only control the parent sims of every generation. NOTE: Great for challenge, shitty for storytelling.
Optional: Name generations after a pokemon in that type, and color their clothes and such accordingly!
Optional: Feel free to add more or tweak life events and plot points!
Most importantly, have fun!
Gen 1:Â Normal
âThe Normal type is the most basic type of PokĂ©mon. They are very common and appear from the very first route you visit.â - pokemon database
All you want is a Normal life. Job, house, maybe a pet, white picket fence, and 2.5 kids. Simple is where itâs at.
Create a binary gendered Sim as your head of household, young adult.
Traits: have the Practice Makes Perfect trait, and/or all relatively boring base game traits.
Aspiration: either Super Parent or Big Happy Family.
Goal: 1-2 biological kids, an adopted kid, possibly a pet, and a spouse.
Career: any ânormalâ job like freelance, business, retail, or even two part-time jobs. Nothing fancy.
Next Heir: any child, your choice
Hard mode (optional): no high quality appliances or electronics
You got gifted a decent inheritance from your grandma passing, and decided to use it to get a place of your own! Time to become the adult you always dreamed of. Use your phone to get a job (or two) and start the daily grind.
After a while you meet someone you like, then like-like, then fall in love with. They propose and you start planning your life.
You decide to test the waters of parenting. Adopt, donât shop! This is where you get your adopted kid (and possible pet)!
You be the best parent you can be, while working. Help with homework, volunteer sometimes, just help your kiddo grow up right.
Eventually they become a teenager. Theyâve wanted a little sibling since you adopted them, but you wanted to make sure they got all your limited attention growing up. Now theyâre saying theyâd help out if you had a baby. Maybe itâs a good timeâŠ
Try for baby or science baby.
You did it. The perfect life.
Gen 2: Grass
âGrass is one of the three basic elemental types along with Fire and Water, which constitute the three starter PokĂ©mon.â - pokemon database
You grew up in the most boring house imaginable. Your parents loved you, doted on you, and gave you a good moral compass. Now you want to pass that forward. You may be just one person, but even a little difference helps!
Traits: They cannot be evil, and they must be vegetarian or freegan.
Aspiration: When theyâre a young adult, give them an aspiration of greenery - either Freelance Botanist, Eco Innovator, or Outdoor Enthusiast.
Goal: Master the Gardening skill and get one of every plant, eventually making a death flower. Maybe donât actually grow the cow plant seed, thoughâŠ
Career: anything to do with plants, even if that means no formal career and just being unemployed and selling food from your little backyard farm. Formal jobs like Gardener or Conservationist work too.
Next Heir: AFAB, can be adopted or cheated to ensure gender.
Hard Mode: Get, maintain, and maybe even feed non-family sims to a cow plant. See if you can get an emotion drink from it.
Do everything you can to make your world greener! Literally and figuratively.
Get a tiny house (or Tiny House) and start a backyard garden. Do whatever little side jobs you need until you can focus on your true passion for nature!
Once you master the Gardening skill, realize that plants, while great listeners, still donât feel like a full family. Find a partner to marry and have an heir with, bonus points if theyâre wearing green or have green hair when you meet.
Teach your child the importance of nature! Plenty of trips to parks, hunt for frogs together, etc.
Hopefully theyâll keep this world from burning to the ground. Right?
Gen 3: Fire
âFire types are notoriously rare in the early stages of the games so choosing the Fire variation starter is often a plus.â - pokemon database
Hell Ablaze, was your parent weird! They talked to their plants more than you sometimes. Donât get me wrong, they loved you, and catching frogs was cool⊠but sometimes you just wanted to get their attention, you know?
Traits: Dye your hair bright red, just to spite your parents. Have the trait Hot Headed.
Aspiration: You want love, every kind of love. Serial Romantic or Paragon Partner!
Goal: Woohoo and date sims of each (or every) gender, and have 5 or more partners before having a kid.
Career: Style Influencer, Romance Consultant, Simfluencer, or Video Game Steamer.
Next Heir: Oldest Child
Hard Mode: youâre not sure who your kid is from, so you decide to live and coparent with ALL your partners! How heated could things get?
You didnât really feel the warmth of affection, growing up. You never really doubted you were loved, but the focus was always on the big picture. Now you want that warmth you never had.
Date around. Have flings. Try to get simstagram famous. Post on social bunny all the time. Fall in love with spicy foods, bright colors, romantic notions, and generally just try to have it all!
Eventually you sleep with one too many people and whoops, youâre eating for two.
Pick a partner, or three, or more. Youâre going to pour your heart and soul, blood sweat and tears, and all your love into this kid.
And maybe buy a fireplace. Or hot tub. Or both.
Gen 4: Water
âWater is the most common type with over 150 PokĂ©mon, which are based on a wide variety of fish and other sea-dwelling creatures.â - pokemon database
Your mom sure was a firecracker, huh? People were always coming and going, you donât even know who your dad is⊠Eventually you just kinda learned to go with the flow, yknow?
Traits: Child of the Ocean if you have it! Otherwise Lazy and Cheerful.
Aspiration: Angling Ace
Goal: max your swimming and fishing skills, go skinny dipping, and have your heir via shower or hot tub Woohoo, if possible.
Career: Freelance or Unemployed. Do a little bit of everything to subsist.
Next Heir: Youngest Child
Hard Mode: donât max any skills other than fishing and swimming, while subsisting off those skills without a real job.
Your house was chaos growing up and your mom was crazy passionate about everything⊠So you kinda just try everything, I guess? You donât really have any passions, and donât have the willpower to daily grind, so you just kinda do everything, but not very well.
The house is always a little messy, but you donât really care. Life just kinda flows and you go where it takes you. You follow your whims, donât really dislike anything, and just kinda⊠scoot by.
Eventually life pairs you up with someone long enough to have a kid. Maybe youâre not meant to be together forever, but maybe you are? You hold hands like otters for as long as life allows, but nothingâs set in stone.
You try to teach your kid to just roll with it. But they got your momâs passion. So you wind up rolling with it instead.
Gen 5: Rock
âRock is a solid type as one might expect.â - pokemon database
Money was always tight growing up. Your parent seemed to just kinda do⊠whatever? But they didnât really pursue any dreams. You have dreams, though. And youâre gonna grind to get them!
Traits: Ambitious &/or Overachiever
Aspiration: Renaissance Sim, Neighborhood Confidant, or Leader of the Pack
Goal: Reach max level in at least two careers
Career(s): Astronaut, Secret Agent, Law, Military, Politician, &/or Doctor
Next Heir: Youngest Child
Hard Mode: max EVERY SKILL
You could never understand why your parent never really went for anything. They were good enough at everything, sure. But you wanna really show youâre reliable. You want to show the world what youâre made of. That youâve got rock solid will power and with that you can do anything!
So you do. You pick your goal and you throw yourself against the wall until you break or break through. And you never break. You just pick yourself up and keep trying.
You make friends over time, being so straightforward and reliable. Eventually one confides in you that theyâve found your resilience attractive since they met you. You Woohoo right then and there. And probably many more times after that.
Your partner mostly takes care of the kids, though. Youâve got goals to achieve and a mark to leave on history.
Gen 6: Bug
âMost Bug PokĂ©mon grow quickly and evolve sooner than other types. As a result, they are often very weak.â - pokemon database
Your parent was a high achiever, and as a kid you were always pushing yourself for their approval. You were always praised for what a bright kid you were⊠Then you hit burnout. Time to find out who loves you for you.
Traits: pick two from Childish, Socially Awkward, Erratic, and Jealous
Aspiration: Renaissance Sim or Academic
Goal: Get to college/adulthood with all As and maxed childhood skills, then burn out. Go chronically online.
Career: You can only make money by computer interactions. Become a writer or a programmer or a troll, whatever.
Next Heir: Only Child
Hard Mode: If it gives you a fear or the gloomy trait from a life event, you have to take and canât get rid of it.
You spend your entire childhood grinding like the parent you idolize. You always take for granted everything your other parent does, and often push away their help. You have to prove you are the perfect kid.
Then youâre not a kid anymore. Youâre a mediocre adult and your idol looks down on you.
Pick fights with your parent until youâre on bad terms. Rely entirely on your other parent until you age up and find someone to marry, then move into your spouseâs house.
You peaked early. Now youâre clingy and incessantly needy, constantly bugging your spouse for attention when youâre not in your shell, on the computer.
But hey, at least the computer helps you get some cash flow.
Eventually have a kid, probably late into adulthood. You donât know how to be there for them. Youâre not even there for yourself. But shower them in affection and hope you can charm them into liking you.
Gen 7: Psychic
âThe Psychic type has few outright strengths, however, it also has few weaknesses. In the first generation it ended up being massively overpowered, mainly due to a complete lack of powerful Bug moves, its only weakness.â - pokemon database
Your one parent was constantly up your butt and sensitive to the weirdest things, and your other parent enabled them. You were always expected to reassure them or leave them alone. So now you walk on eggshells and try to predict everyoneâs needs.
Traits: Loyal and Perfectionist, possibly Paranoid
Aspiration: Neighborhood Confidant or Friend of the World, then optionally swap to Inner Peace or Zen Guru
Goal: Befriend people and juggle friendships to keep everyone happy. Have a few incompatible partners before finding The One.
Career: Comedian, Journalist, or Actor.
Next Heir: Adopt
Hard Mode: Complete all your whims, goals, and/or bucket list items, while still maxing your relationship with everyone special to you.
After having to predict emotions most of your life, youâve gotten really, really good at Empathy. Youâre in tune to everyoneâs feelings, all the time. And you just want to make everyone happy, okay?
You take losing people really hard, so you do everything not to lose them.
That doesnât always work out for you, though.
After plenty of heartbreaks, you find someone who cares as much as you do⊠but about you!
Fall madly in love, learn about healthy relationships, and best of all? Learn to love yourself.
Weâre breaking generational trauma and breaking bloodlines. Who needs blood family anyway? Found family is where itâs at! You and your partner adopt your kids, deciding not to have any yourselves. (Feel free to use CAS full edit to make them sterile.)
Pass along the good vibes. Weâre making the world better, starting at home.
Gen 8: Fairy
â[Fairyâs] main intention was to balance the type chartâŠâ - pokemon database
Your life is a fairy tale. You never knew your birth parents and, after years of group homes and foster parents, you get adopted by the nicest parents ever! You are constantly reassured how loved you are, reminded how chosen family matters most, and are taught how to be a good person without overextending yourself.
Traits: Good, optionally Generous or Family Oriented
Aspiration: anything from Family, Animal, or Love categories
Goal: Live a good life
Career: Style Influencer, Astronaut (ranger branch), Secret Agent (diamond branch), Doctor, or Vet. Maybe swap eventually to freelance.
Next Heir: Firstborn
Hard Mode: Donate to charity and volunteer with family as often as possible. Bonus points if you also breed and release axolotls.
You may never know who brought you into this world, but you know who taught you to love it. Your supportive, adoptive parents! You donât take anything for granted.
You learn from them, grow with them, and take all their lessons to heart.
Eventually you meet someone just as kind and good and generous, and you fall madly in love, and you get together.
Time to pass along the love and kindness your parents showed you!
Gen 9: Steel
â[Steel] is the strongest type defensively, with 10 types being not very effective against it and the Poison type having no effect.â - pokemon database
You were raised by the most loving, kind, generous, sincere, and perfect parent. You were taught resilience from an early age. You were taught kindness and respect for all things. But why donât you feel any connection to anything? It feels like youâre a robot going through the motions.
Traits: Loner, Gloomy, and either Noncommittal or Practice Makes Perfect
Aspiration: Computer Whiz or Master Maker
Goal: Find meaning in what feels meaningless â have a life event that swaps out your gloomy traits! Bonus if you wind up Self Assured.
Career: Any, hop around a few times even
Next Heir: Your favorite child
Hard Mode: Have several kids, be distant to all of them, but have one you secretly like best that is the only one you keep in your household. The rest move out with their other parents, who you inevitably break up with and leave with their kids.
You love your parent, you think? And you try to find love, but it never feels⊠right.
Then you eventually have a kid that you see differently. They make you want to be the best parent you can be.
But you have no idea how to do that. Youâre clumsy and awkward in your attempts to be a good parent, but you do your best, you hope.
Gen 10: Fighting
âFighting PokĂ©mon are strong and muscle-bound, often based on martial artists. Fighting moves are super-effective against five other types (as is Ground), making them very good offensively.â - pokemon database
Your parent tried. You have a dozen half siblings that you donât really talk to. You were clearly the favorite, but you still basically had to fend for yourself. Your parent didnât, well, know how to be a parent. So you toughed it out and mostly took care of yourself. With no one to talk to about things, you focused on working out your emotions in physical ways. Healthily, hopefully, but you donât really know. You were never modeled healthy emotions.
Traits: Hotheaded and Active, choose between Mean, Bro, or Self Absorbed
Aspirations: Bodybuilder or Extreme Sport Enthusiast
Goal: Max all your physical skills out, then enroll in therapy (have a self-discovery moment or attend meditation and yoga classes)
Career: Athlete or Manual Laborer
Next Heir: Oldest Boy
Hard Mode: Max out the physical career tracks, then swap to something more healthily expressive (art, writing, music, wellness, etc)
You constantly butt heads with everyone.
You think itâs cause you take no bullshit, and need to look out for yourself first.
Actually, you just suck at social stuff.
You only figure that out when you meet someone you fall for who takes none of your bullshit either. They teach you how to communicate, how to work out emotions more healthily⊠And eventually, you get married and have some kids.
You want a boy, they want one of each. Whatever, the boy is your favorite. Theyâll take on the family line.
Gen 11: Electric
âThere are relatively few Electric PokĂ©monâ - pokemon database
Your parent was a little combative, but not at you. They were your staunchest defender and greatest ally. Anyone mess with you? Theyâll chew out the bastard and go up the chain of command until itâs fixed. It kinda gives you a heady mix of severe anxiety and the feeling you can do anything.
Traits: Outgoing, either Idealist or Perfectionist, and optionally Cringe or Socially Awkward
Aspirations: Renaissance Sim to start. Change aspirations at least 3 times, only completing your favorite one
Goal: Build a robosim (or reach handiness level 10 and max relationship with a cc ârobo simâ) and have like 4+ kids via adoption or science.
Career: Swap around a few times, then settle on Tech Guru at the end.
Next Heir: Youngest Girl
Hard Mode: Move houses/towns at least 3 times as well, each home decorated wildly differently.
You are unique and quirky and prooooobably have ADHD.
You bounce off the walls as a child, swap interests constantly, and canât finish anything to save your life. You try dozens of jobs, try dozens of aspirations, never really retaining friends.
No one can really keep up with your perpetual zoomies. So you MAKE a friend who can!
You donât really know if you even have romantic or sexual attractions, so your robo bestie is your co-parent of some adopted and science babies!
You have split attention enough to keep up with a full household, but your baby girl stole your heart. You never show your favoritism though â if you make a little electric toy for one kid, you make one for every kid!
Gen 12: Ground
âGround is one of the strongest types offensively: it is super-effective against five other types [âŠ] and Earthquake is one of the strongest moves in the gameâ - pokemon database
You were raised by a hyperactive person and a robot. The robot was the sane one. You learned to handle chaos in stride, but also learned you kind of needed to make a big stink to get your human parentâs attention. So youâre very, very chill⊠until youâre not.
Traits: Proper or Bro, Loyal, and Hot Headed
Aspirations: The Curator or Crystal Crafter
Goal: Build a mountain of wealth â both liquid and in assets â to leave to the next generation.
Career: Salaryperson, Business, Engineer, or Self-Employed
Next Heir: Only Child
Hard Mode: Become a hoarder of all things expensive, just scraping by because you put all your earnings into valuable objects, then leave them all to your kid to deal with.
You grew up preferring the company of your more grounded âparentâ. Even though you had no blood relation, your bioparent was too flighty for you. You grew up enjoying the simple things in life, with occasional very nice treats and experiences.
You find a grounded, adult job. And you steadily rise through the ranks.
Eventually you meet someone just as frugal and simple, and you settle down.
You want to give that simple life to your child, now. So you make mac n cheese or taco casserole every night, pancakes or eggs every morning, send them off with lunches of ham and cheese or pb&j, and go to work to bring home the bacon. And boy, do you make that dough. You could use it to spoil your kid, but then they wouldnât be set for life. And you want to build a firm foundation for them to live off of once youâre gone.
So instead you pack the attic with statues, fine art, and more. The more wealth you can pass down, the better. Money may be no object by a certain point, but a penny saved is a penny earned!
Gen 13: Ice
âIce type PokĂ©mon are now the rarest of all typesâ - pokemon database
Your parent hoarded wealth. You always were made fun of a bit in school for having all thrifted and hand-me-down clothes. You always wanted something more than just mac n cheese or pb&j. You never got to have fancy birthday parties. But the attic was your hideaway â you loved being surrounded by gemstones and art. Your rich friend once let you try their caviar and wagyu steak lunch and you were hooked. You want ice â you want gems and cold, hard cash. Time to live the good life you could have had. Even if you have to freeze your heart to get it.
Traits: Snob and Materialistic, and either Kleptomaniac, Self Absorbed, or Shady.
Aspirations: Sticky Fingers or Fabulously Wealthy
Goal: Live the life of luxury you always wanted! Have a maid or butler, a home chef, whatever. And keep that money flowing!
Career: Criminal
Next Heir: A child from the partner you actually find love with
Hard Mode: You must buy only the most expensive items for your house. Youâd rather do without than have something less than the best.
You always wanted more than you had. It was always just out of reach, even though your parents had the means. Sure, it COULD pay for your house and education, but whereâs the fun in that?
You were never spoiled, so itâs time to spoil yourself.
You fall in with a bad crowd, taking anything you can from whatever chances youâre given.
Your first marriage (or two) is for money.
Itâs only after you have the life of luxury you wanted that you realize⊠thereâs more to life than things.
Once you complete your aspiration and/or career, you eventually go looking for love for your next marriage. If you had any kids before, you decide if they come with you or not, but you canât help but see your past in them. You have a baby (or several) with your second, third, whatever â your FINAL partner. From that love, you find your heir.
Gen 14: Poison
âThe Poison type is regarded as one of the weakest offensively [âŠ] It fares a little better defensively but its best advantage is through status moves like Toxic.â - pokemon database
You grew up rich, snooty, and spoiled. You never lacked anything, and you make your displeasure known when you donât get what you wantâŠ
Traits: Mean, and any traits you find especially hard to work with; like maybe Slob, Lazy, Erratic, or High Maintenance.
Aspirations: Seeker of Secrets, Fabulously Filthy, or your least favorite aspiration
Goal: Get at least one good or generous sim to marry you, and try not to push them away.
Career: Playerâs choice, but âbad guyâ career paths encouraged
Next Heir: Firstborn or Only Child
Hard Mode: Try to find a Good, Generous, and/or Idealist sim that you keep a FULLY POSITIVE RELATIONSHIP with until the next generation, bonus points if your kid also has a good relationship with you!
Squeaky wheel gets the oil, right?
Well it did in your house. No meant âpush harderâ and ânot nowâ meant throw a tantrum or beg.
That didnât set you up great for the real world. Youâre pushy, mean, and snooty, and it pushes people away and makes you plenty of enemies.
Eventually some poor, kindhearted soul thinks they can fix you. Maybe they can⊠Or maybe youâll just use them for all theyâre worthâŠ
Either way, you have a kid â and have no idea how to prepare them for the world, since your parents apparently didnât teach you how to handle it.
Gen 15: Dark
âThe Dark type was introduced in the second generation of PokĂ©mon games as a measure to balance the types. In particular, its immunity to Psychic cut down that typeâs advantage by a long way.â - pokemon database
You grew up with mixed signals and mind games. Your other parent tried to assure you the first one loved you, but they were⊠Disastrously ineffective at showing it.
You find solace in monsters. If monsters can love, perhaps your parent did love you. Or maybe youâre the monster, and other monsters deserve love tooâŠ
Traits: Gloomy or Macabre and either Socially Awkward or Loner
Aspirations: If you have any monster packs â vampire or werewolves, for even spellcasters â any of the âgoodâ aspirations from them. Otherwise, a Creativity aspiration or Big Happy Family.
Goal: Learn to love yourself â either by leaning into the darkness or by having a trait change â and then have a kid you can raise better than you were.
Career: Any, play this as goth as youâd like!
Next Heir: Science Baby with Self
Hard Mode: Live off your parentâs dwindled estate, and let a lover be the breadwinner. Spend your days moping around your house and writing bad poetry.
You had half of a good childhood. One parent was lovely, the other⊠not so much. Eventually you two came to some kind of stability, but the damage was done. Youâre never sure whatâs around the next dark corner of life â or if youâre the thing that goes bump in the night.
But you go to therapy. You go to skill building classes. You pour out your feelings into your hobbies.
Maybe you will be visibly a monster, but youâre gonna try not to act like one to any kids.
So, when you think youâre ready, you have a science baby.
And you hope any genetic trauma you got doesnât wind up in them, tooâŠ
Gen 16: Ghost
âGhosts are rare PokĂ©mon, and the only type to have two immunities.[âŠ] When paired with the Dark type it was the only type combination to have no weaknessesâŠâ - pokemon database
You are the spitting image of your parent.
You see how theyâre haunted by their past.
Maybe you can step forward, to a new life, together?
Traits: Gloomy or Chased by Death, but also Loyal.
Aspirations: Ghost Historian or Chief of Mischief â but end up with Neighborhood Confidant or Friend of the World.
Goal: Have a multigenerational household. Your sole parent lives with you, or you with them, while you raise your child.
Career: Writer
Next Heir: Your Choice
Hard Mode: Donât get rid of any of the gloomy or darker traits, and keep the ghost of any parents around as long as possible.
Your parent may be a little eccentric, but they mean well. Theyâve been through some stuff. As you got older, you learned more and more of it.
Maybe, together, you can help them face the world again.
Go through the motions of childhood. Get câs in everything if you need. If you pass, thatâs good enough. Youâre not here for school. You donât know what youâre here for yet, but for now, just leave everything on read.
Eventually you decide your goal is to give people hope of a better ending. A hope of closure and healing and moving on to a better life.
So you write. Worlds about ghosts, both literal and figurative. Metaphors for healing weave through every story, and every protagonist practices some coping skills people can use in real life.
You rely on your parent as much as they rely on you. You just live together indefinitely. Maybe adding on to the house as needed, but still. Stronger together, right?
Find someone not weirded out by multigenerational living, and marry them.
Maybe itâs time to write your own story.
Gen 17: Flying
âMost Flying type PokĂ©mon are based on birds or insects, along with some mythical creatures like dragons. On average they are faster than any other type.â - pokemon database
You were raised communally, and having three or more people to come to with problems was amazing. You never felt left out or ignored. Everyone wanted whatâs best for you. And you get to follow all your neat, niche interests with abandon. Your family is the wind beneath your wings, and youâre ready to soar!
Traits: Creative, optionally Idealist, Noncommittal, or Overachiever
Aspirations: As many as you can, hop around as needed!
Goal: Build up a nest egg and then leave the nest! But eventually come back home to roost.
Career: Your choice, but Astronaut would be hilarious
Next Heir: Only Child or Eldest Child
Hard Mode: Realize youâre better flying solo â never get a partner
You leave the nest, have a place of your own, have some adventures. Maybe you have some flings, maybe you find someone, maybe you feel better flying solo.
Eventually it just feels wrong in a place by your lonesome.
So you move back home, have a kid (possibly not in that order) and get to be a big happy flock again!
Your parents help raise your child the way you were raised.
Gen 18: Dragon
âDragons are among the most elusive and powerful of all PokĂ©mon. Nineteen legendary PokĂ©mon are part Dragon type and eight have legendary-like stats.â - pokemon database
You were given the best possible start on life. You stand on the shoulders of giants.
Do you hoard all the love youâve been given? Or do you gift its magic to the masses?
You are powerful, and the future is yours to decide.
Literally do whatever you want.
Hard Mode: this gen becomes a supersim challenge
The joke is that YOU are the dragon gen for getting through all of this. Itâs a long, grueling challenge, and you made it through.
This sim is YOUR IDEAL SIM! Itâs your self-insert, your wildest fantasies are to be lived out vicariously through them.
legit though, this is The Fun Gen â have fun!
What does being a dragon mean to you?
Do that.
And thank you so, so much for playing. <3

warnings: chasing, abandonment, being left in the dark, lmk if I missed any!
~~~
Octavious sighed as he leaned back into his chair. He tapped his fingers against the table, inpatient. His arms were already getting antsy, moving around, opening and closing. He looked around the empty warehouse, the walls, floors, and ceiling all covered with mold and dust. The 2 door entrance was barely an entrance, as the left door was almost completely rusted off, making a shriek when he had to pry it open. The place was perfect for an overnight meeting with Martin to deliver him his cloaking device⊠if he were to show up on time.
He was already making a move to call Martin to tell him the meeting was off when there was a light passing by the window in the night, and he heard a car roll to a stop near the entrance. Within a few moments, Li and his guards sauntered into the room, and he took a seat on the other edge of the table.
âGood to see you, my friend.â He introduced, âI apologize for being late. Traffic, you know?â
Octavious was in no mood. He just wanted to get back and see you, and make sure you did your homework that he had assigned for you. And to tuck you into bed. One of his arms pulled out the device, which looked like a dash cam, and dropped it into his palm. âIâve made it easy to control: the only thing is that the device will need to be manually operated. This button on the side turns it on, and, Iâve computed it to include various models and persons so that if you just need cover, then you donât have to be invisible all the time.â He placed the device in the middle of the table, letting Li pick it up and inspect it.
âThank you, my friend.â He looked back to Octavious, âBy the way, were you still working on that âoverrideâ project?â
Octavious raised a brow, and felt his arms start to stray. He pulled them back, âYes, I have completed it. Why do you ask?â
Li shrugged a bit, putting the cloaking device in his pocket. âIâm planning a few heists in the next few weeks- it would help cause less frustrations in getting them set up.â
When Octavious didnât answer, he added on, âA favor for a favor, then?â
This was taking too long. His arms were starting to become more and more impatient, reaching out and twitching. âNo, that wonât be needed. Here,â he pulled out one of his chips, along with a tablet. He slid the chip over the table over to Li, and the table lit up.
âYou may borrow it- maybe indefinitely depending on how many I am able to make. And donât think about taking it, as I have all of them tracked.â
He placed the screen on the table, letting Martin look at every single one he had currently, most of them back at his base. He opened a side table from the GPS map, showing different uses and how it forms keys and cards and everything in between. His arms were whirring down at the tablet, but he ignored them, thinking it was just them being impatient about seeing you again.
âAs you can see, depending on where and how you use it, it can serve a multitude of factors, not just opening doors, but creating system failures, hacking databases and-â
It was finally then that his arms started to do their little movements towards the tablet while he was talking with Li. Before he could make them retreat, he noticed what they were looking at. Almost all of the little red dots of the override chips were all at his base: except one, which was moving down different streets and alleys, much farther than his base. He picked up the tablet watching it move away from most of the other dots.
Li chuckled seeing Octavious be stumped. âI thought you were very overprotective of your projects, Doctor?â
He couldnât understand. Was it a bug? In his technologies? Every genius has their flaws, he knew, but it wouldnât make sense. He had built every single one of them differently, and had made sure there were no imperfections. But then that would mean someone had taken it and ran off with it. That was impossible, he reasoned, as the only person at the base right now is-
Oh. Oh, dear.
His arms, either reading his thoughts or realizing the same time he did, started to move around uncontrollably, writhing to get him out, to get to the base. No, he rationed, if they arenât the ones who had taken it, then they would still be at the base safe and sound. If someone had come to steal the chips, they wouldâve taken all of them.
When he stood up, pushing the chair all the way to the wall with the force, Li stood up as well. âI assume you must catch your runaway chip, then?â
Octavious was already climbing up to the wall, with the windows broken, breaking a few more so he could pass through. âDonât you dare loose that chip, Li.â He called out, before he jumped away, moving in a frenzy to chase after you, ignoring whatever Li had said back.
---
When you escaped, you didn't really know where to go. His lair that he had was underneath a river, and while you thought it would be a nightmare to get out of, you guessed the door that you had found from that corridor was the easiest way out since it led you all the way up to some alleyway. You realized that, yes, you probably were under the Hudson River because you could see it running downstream when you had reached the top.
However, that didnât matter to you. You hadnât seen the moon in a long while, and it was a full one. Just your luck. You knew that Octavious would be busy with whatever he was doing in his lab, so you werenât worried about him finding out until the early hours of the morning.
You were not lucky, however, in knowing where to go. You didnât really know the area around the river well, especially in the dark, where you couldnât see anything. Hiding in the alleys and running through the abandoned buildings didnât help either.
There was no one around, and while you had thought about it, calling out for help probably wouldnât do you any good. So, instead, you kept going, hoping that you could find an exit to the dark labyrinth soon.
As the moon got higher, and you could no longer hear the river run, you had slowed your pace, speed walking down streets and roads. Your feet hurt by now, but you trudged on, hoping to find someone eventually.
While walking, you pulled the rectangular chip from your pocket. It looked useless, besides that one hole in the wall. It was strange, because you never saw that hole in the wall before. You had scoured up and down that apartment, especially the doors, trying to find a way out. But there was nothing, at least when you looked. Looking at it more closely, the chips werenât in the same spot as they were. In fact, as you moved around more, they kept changing, morphing into different things. Some looked like actual keys, others motherboards, and some just kept changing geometric shapes. It was constant, but subtle.
You had never noticed that. You were so busy watching them change shape and morph that you almost didnât hear it. You turned your head, listening to some clanking noise. It was almost rhythmic if it didnât sound frantic, almost like a car or truck. Maybe it was someone coming to pick something up from one of the buildings! You could get help from them, you thought.
You turned around, ignoring how your feet hurt, and ran towards the noise. You shoved the chip back into your pocket, and ran down the side of the building. The clanking noise was getting louder and closer, but it sounded⊠strange. Not like a truck or car kind of noise, where the shocks were holding large amounts of cargo, but more like a slamming of a metal pipe on the ground. You slowed your stop at the edge of the building, and peeked your head out, wondering what it was.
To your horror, just a few dozens of meters away, Otto was charging at you. You turned back, and started to run away, really praying that someone would find you now.
â_____!!â You heard him screech, which made you run even faster. You felt the ground shaking by now, and you could hear him push anything that was in his way away. âGet back here, NOW!!â
You kept running, hoping to get the hell away from him. You knew he was getting closer, and you could hear his arms becoming more hectic with every step they took. It made you run as fast as you could, hoping to outrun him, or to run into someone else. However, your luck ran out that night as you felt something slam into your side, and lift you up high into the air.
Catching your breath, you looked down and saw Otto, and he looked furious. The arm around your waist squeezed, making you yelp in pain. You went to say something, but he interrupted you, âSave it. For. Later.â He talked in between moving back towards the base, moving in large swift jumps of his 3 other arms.
While being held, he pulled you close to him, and while you thought he was going to hug you or slap you, instead he reached inside of your pocket and pulled out the rectangular chip that you had. âHey, donât-â you reached one of your hands out, trying to grab it from him, but he slapped your hand away.
âSave. It. And this-â he held up the chip, before putting it in his pocket, âDoes not belong to you. You stole it.â
You rolled your eyes at that. âI did not-â
Otto stopped suddenly, making you jolt from being held. You grabbed onto the arm tightly, afraid of being dropped. He brought you very close to his face. âWhat part of save it do you not understand?â He gritted out. He was seething. You could see his eyes shake with anger, he was almost spitting out every word he said.
You decided that you had done enough, and you remained quiet. When you said nothing, he turned back to the road and continued going back to the base. For a short while, it was quiet. At least my feet arenât hurting that much anymore.
Embarrassingly, you didnât make it that far from the base based on how short the trip was back. This time, however, he brought you to a new entrance, one you didnât even know was there. It was through a building, and then through a large pipe in the center of it. While you had thought it was the stupidest entrance ever, the multiple traps, cameras and security measures that he easily moved around or accessed proved it was not an easy way to get in. When he finally reached the bottom of the pipe, it brought you to a room that looked similarly to his lab. Except, it almost looked more evil. It was way bigger, and had tanks and monitors. Everything looked evil.
He walked (still using his arms) over to a large sphere, that looked like one of those Plasma balls you saw online. However, at the top, it had a little latch. He opened the latch, and unceremoniously dropped you in. You slid down the glass onto the floor of it, and you jumped to your feet just as he shut it and locked it. Looking around, it was literally just a fishbowl with a hole in the back.
You turned back to Otto, who was staring at you through the glass. He pressed his hand up against it, at your eye level.
âI am extremely upset with you.â He stated as he visibly tried to calm himself down. His voice sounded around the glass, like an echo. It really was like a fishbowl. âI donât know or understand why you would run off like that- I know you are scared and frightened, but that is no way to treat your father.â
He had never referred to himself as such before. It took you by surprise, seeing him so⊠emotional. He started to walk away, even while you tried to say something, to say you were sorry, that you would never run away again. But he just turned around, and said, âIâll see you in the morning. Think about your actions. Weâll have a talk in the morning.â
He walked out, and the lights turned off, leaving you sobbing in the darkness, alone and afraid.
Iâd love to hear some library stories!
Okay friends here is my support your local public library manifesto:
I have worked in a public library for a little over a year now, and I worked in an academic library for a year and a half. Theyâre two different beasts, and I love both, but public libraries will always have a special place in my heart.
Lately, as Iâm sure you know, public libraries in the US have been under attack by people who really donât understand public libraries and all that their employees do.
So, here are some of the things that Iâve done in my year of public library work that people outside of it might not think of:
1. Iâve taught several older adults how to text on their iPhone for the first time, and how to use their smart phones generally.
2. I led teens through a library orientation to show them all we have to offer (which is pretty important when we regularly have 50-60 teens hanging out at my branch after school).
3. Iâve helped people over chat reference locate information and obituaries for their relatives. This involved looking through old newspapers and databases â it was really cool and the patrons are always extremely thankful!!
4. I helped a woman locate her many-greats grandfatherâs civil war records using our local history collection.
5. Iâve printed countless tax forms for people and made appointments for them to get their taxes done at the library for free.
6. Iâve developed relationships with the local community college and a local university to get more college students to use the public library and to get them out into their community. (Let me brag here: this is in the strategic plan to be completed by fiscal year 2026, and I, a 23 year old library associate, have already been doing this, teehee)
7. I set up 4 all-ages displays and 2 adult displays this year alone, and I have 2 more Iâm setting up in September.
8. Iâve helped kids locate materials for homework in books and using our online resources.
9. Iâve helped with our branchâs Lunch at the Library program, which feeds any kid up to age 18 for free every weekday during the summer.
10. Iâve helped people young and old with resumes, job applications, and helped them find career readiness and test prep materials countless times.
Libraries are SO much more than just books!!!! We have online resources, puzzles, board games, cameras, fishing poles, cake pans, and so much more!! We have programming for ALL ages! I specifically program for 20s-30s! Check us out!!!!! And donât forget: public libraries are some of the last spaces that you can exist in without having to spend money. They need to be protected, appreciated, and most of all VISITED!!!
Go get a library card and check us out!!!!!!
#support libraries#public libraries#public librarian#alright iâm done with this manifesto#luv u all
Thea's Quest ~ Ch. 7
Chapter 7: TargetsÂ
Summary: Thea and Kaldur spend the day learning about computers, help Superboy pick a name, and save two countries from war.
Warnings: canon typical violence, blood and injuries
Word count: 3.5k
Thea was glad to have a day off. She needed to catch up on some of Dianaâs homework and fill out a few mission reports â and of course some rest was always appreciated. But first, she had to meet Kaldur in the mission room. A week or so prior, the team had found out that Thea didnât know how to use technology, given its habit of attracting monsters. With the help of her magical pendant she wasnât at as much risk anymore, but she still didnât really know how to approach electronics. Kaldur had offered to try to teach her some things on their days off, so that was where she was headed.
âHey!â Thea called to the Atlantean as she walked into the mission room.
âGood morning, Thea.â Kaldur replied.
The two got to work, Kaldur first showing Thea simply how to gesture in order to turn the screen on.
âIâve seen so much stuff that is unexplainable by science, and yet this feels so magical to me.â Thea said to Kaldur as she practiced.
He had opened his mouth to reply when their comms went off.
âAqualad.â Kaldur reported.
âRed Arrow.â Came the voice on the other end.
Thea frowned. She wasnât a fan. Red Arrow was aggressive, which she could look past, but his general distaste and distrust of her and her friends â especially Artemis â rubbed her the wrong way. She just felt like something was off about him.
âI need access to the Justice League's database and the exact height of the League of Shadows assassin known as Cheshire.â Red Arrow said.
Kaldur moved over in front of Thea to pull up the necessary information.Â
âChecking. Cheshire is 1.67 meters.â Kaldur said.
âUmâŠâ Red Arrow trailed off.
Thea rolled her eyes.
 âSheâs 5 foot 6.â She clarified.
âAnd exceptionally dangerous. Do you require backup?â Kaldur asked.
As much as she didnât like Red Arrow, Thea respected Kaldurâs kindness toward his friend.
âPlease. The last thing I need is the Junior Justice League.â Red Arrow rejected.
âJust our computer.â Kaldur said sassily.
Thea couldnât help but chuckle.
âGood luck, my friend. Aqualad out.â
~~~
After their call with Red Arrow, Mâgann walked through the mission room. Thea and Aqualad followed her to the hangar to wish her and Superboy a good first day of class.
âReady for school? I made our lunches.â Mâgann said as she flew toward Superboy.
âThe first day of the scholastic season carries great cultural resonance. We want to wish you both well.â Martian Manhunter said as he, Red Tornado, Kaldur, and Thea approached.
âGuess it's not a Kryptonian thing.â Superboy said sadly.
Thea felt a wave of anger at Big Boy Blue. The way Superman ignored his clone reminded her of the ways the gods ignored their unclaimed children.Â
Powerful people need to learn how to parent. She thought with a frown.
âWait, Thea, why arenât you going to school?â Mâgann asked.
Theaâs eyes widened in surprise.Â
âOh, uh, I donât go to school.â She said, unsure how to answer the question.
âWhat do you mean?â Mâgann asked. âSurely you care about your education.â She continued.
âNo, of course.â Thea said.
âJust, the last time I was in school was five years ago, and a harpy attacked one of my classmates.â She explained.
Everyone looked at her with some amount of confusion of concern.
âHe was fine!â She assured.
âBut anyway. Iâm â uh â Iâm homeschooled.â Thea said.Â
âYou may wish to change before you depart.â Kaldur mentioned to Mâgann, changing the topic.
âAh! I spent hours choosing this outfit. What do you think?â Mâgann said as she spun around, her clothes transforming out of her hero outfit and into a skirt and blouse.
âCan M'gann M'orzz pass as an Earth girl now?â She asked.
âWellâŠâ Kaldur trailed off, unsure how to break the news.
Thea pursed her lips, holding in a giggle.
âJust kidding!â Mâgann laughed.
âMeet Megan Morse.â She said, her skin changing from green to caucasian.
âWhat's your new name?â She asked Superboy.
âMy what?â He asked.
âI chose the name John Jones for myself. And suggested John Smith for Red Tornado. You could be a John too.â Martian Manhunter suggested.
âPass.â
Mâgann â or Megan â put her hands on Superboyâs arm.
âConner's always been my favorite name.â She said.
Superboy shrugged ambivalently, accepting the title.Â
Thea thought back to her most familiar Connor: Connor Stoll. Half of the set of twins who consistently lovingly made her life at camp difficult as hell.Â
âA last name will also be required.â Kaldur said.
âPerhaps Kent?â Martian Manhunter suggested.Â
âOh, in memory of Dr. Fate, the late Kent Nelson.â Megan said.
âOf⊠course.â He replied.
Thea sensed something off and looked over at Kaldur. She tilted her head slightly to indicate her question. The boy winked at her. Theaâs eyebrows raised at the implication. Supermanâs last name is Kent; thatâs knowledge to file away for later.
âOkay, sure. I guess it'd be an honor or something.â Superboy, now Connor, agreed.
âWell, Conner Kent, time to change your shirt.â Megan said.Â
Connor looked down at his shirt, then back at her, confused.
âYou don't wanna reveal your identity.â She explained, tapping his chest.
Connor reached over his shoulder and pulled off his shirt. Theaâs eyes widened. She may not like the boy romantically, but he was by no means an unattractive man.
âUgh, will this work?â He asked, pulling the shirt inside out.Â
Megan looked like a deer in headlights.
âWorks for me.â She all but drooled.
Thea put a hand around her mouth to stop herself from laughing, or at least hide her gleeful grin. Kalur glanced at her and chuckled.
âWait, shouldn't I be Conner Nelson?â Thea heard Connor ask as he and Megan walked away.
âThey grow up so fast.â Manhunter said fondly.
~~~
Kaldur and Thea took some time the rest of the morning to do some work, and make lunch. Thea really liked spending time with Kaldur. It reminded her of her early days at camp, meeting and getting to know Luke, Annabeth, and Grover â back when it all felt so simple.
Later, they returned to the mission room. Thea was slowly but surely getting the hang of using the caveâs computer, but she could always use more practice.Â
Again, their comms went off.Â
âItâs me. I may possibly be in over my head.â Red Arrow said.
After a brief conversation to plan, the call ended.
âYou go ahead.â Thea said as soon as Red Arrow hung up.
âYouâre not coming?â Kaldur asked, seeming confused.
âHe doesnât like me.â Thea stated bluntly. âThe whole situation will be easier if Iâm not there. Heâs not upset by my presence and you donât have to worry about the two of us not getting along.â
Kaldur paused, thinking over her words.
âYou do not need to come if you really do not want to.â He began. âBut I think we will need your help. As⊠abrasive as he can be, he does not hate you, and I know that his distrust is misplaced. I will not force it, but I would like you to come with me.â Kaldur said.
Theaâs posture softened.
âOkay.â She said. âBut only if you donât leave me alone with him.â She commanded.
âDeal.â Kaldur said with a smile.
~~~
Kaldur and Thea arrived in Taipei covertly. Zeta tubes meant no TSA, but Thea didnât want to risk openly carrying her sword into a politically tense situation, so she stuck with her dagger hidden under her jacket. The two were standing in front of a podium where Red Arrow, along with Lex Luthor and the representatives from North and South Rhelasia were.Â
Thea felt a presence behind her.
âGet ready.â She whispered to Kaldur.
He turned around to face the disguised woman as Thea shifted over slightly, getting out of the way while making sure to watch Kaldurâs back.
âThat is far enough, Cheshire.â He said.
The assailant acted innocent for only a second, before pushing a button on the tea cart she was pushing and leaping away. Kaldur pulled the water from the cups on the podium, forming a wall of water just as Red Arrow shot an arrow, setting off the bomb. Fortunately, Kaldurâs wall held, but the exertion it took was obvious. As soon as the explosion cleared, Kaldur dropped the barrier.
âItâs over, Cheshire.â Somebody said.
âYou would think so.â She replied coyly.
Theaâs eyes narrowed. A helicopter carrying a group of assassins piloted next to the building.
âTake Sportsmaster. Cheshireâs mine.â Red Arrow commanded Kaldur.
âTheaââ Kaldur started.
âProtect the ambassadors?â She said, already pulling out her dagger to engage the closest Shadow.
âYes.â He acknowledged, focusing his attention on Sportsmaster.
Thea moved quickly, focusing on the Shadows and making sure they couldnât get too close to the ambassadors. She only had her dagger, and the Shadows were trained in a different fighting style, but her years of sword practice and combat training made her a formidable opponent. The whole time, Thea was careful. Monsters could be killed and would eventually come back â but these were mortals, and she didnât want to murder anyone.Â
Thea ducked a blow from the Shadow in front of her, then kicked their leg out from under them. They fell and hit their head on the ground. Quickly another Shadow engaged her. They circled each other, each landing hits and defending against the othersâ attacks. Oddly, this Shadow seemed to be pushing Thea away from the ambassadors rather than getting closer to them himself. Thea glanced over, trying to find Lex Luthor as well as her friends. The slight moment of distraction was enough for the Shadow to push Thea outside the building. As soon as her foot crossed over the threshold, the soldier spun around, heading back to the ambassadors.
âVlakas!â She swore, realizing the trick.
~~~
Before she had the chance to run back inside, though, a sudden searing pain cut through her shoulder. She grabbed the area, pulling her hand away to see blood coming from a slice â almost like that of a small arrow. Something on the ground caught her eye and she kneeled to find a feather. She picked it up. It was a grayish color, but when it caught the sun it gleamed gold, and when she turned it to the side, it was razor sharp.
âOh, Styx.âÂ
It was as if her realization summoned the flock. Spinning on her heel, Thea spotted the treeline and ran for cover. It wasnât great help though â Stymphalian birds are incredibly dangerous monsters. The mortals she ran past looked confused, but Thea paid them no mind, certain that the Mist would do its work. Thea tried not to be slowed down by the birds, even as their feathers slashed cuts in her skin.Â
âOne monster is bad enough, but a whole swarm? Really?â She muttered under her breath as she finally reached the trees.
Of course, it didnât stop the birds from following her, but at least she wasnât as obvious a target, and they couldnât shoot their feathers from above.
âOkay, Thea. Think.â She said to herself.
âDefeating the Stymphalian birds was one of Herculesâ tasks. But he used brass bells from Athena â what am I supposed to do?â The girl thought out loud.
It was too little, too late. Some of the birds had found her. There weren't as many as before, but that hardly mattered. Pulling out her dagger, Thea really wished she had her sword. One of the birds flew close â it looked like a pigeon, but bigger, and stronger â and Thea swung at it. She knocked it aside before its bronze beak could grab her, but it was only stunned for a moment. It flew back toward her, gaining speed. A pigeon shouldnât be as menacing as a peregrine falcon, but Thea was very afraid.Â
This time, she had a better idea of what she was up against, and her aim held true. Her dagger sliced through the bird, turning it to golden ashes, though not before its feathers cut open new wounds on her hand.
A much worse pain shot through her abdomen. Thea looked down to find one of the other birds pecking, working its way through the skin of her stomach. She yelled, shoving forward her dagger with her injured hand, but another bird intercepted her, sending the dagger flying a few feet away.
If she made it out now, she would survive â the injuries werenât too severe. But she was defenseless against the monsters, and she knew that without some loud noise to stop them, they would strip her to the bones.
Suddenly, a resonant boom sounded from inside the building, then a pause before more loud bangs. The lives of the ambassadors crossed her mind, but regardless, she had never been so grateful to hear a bomb and gunshots.Â
A few of the birds startled, and went flying away. The other, still cutting up Theaâs flesh, stayed for a moment. The adrenaline Thea got from looking down at the wound gave her the energy to kick the bird away and scream. Fortunately, it was enough for the creature to fly away after its family.
Thea slumped against a tree. From where she lay, she could see into the building, though her vision was gradually blurring. Having not prepared for a monster attack, she didnât have her typical supplies on her. Thea pulled off her partially shredded shirt, leaving her in her sports bra, and balled it up to put pressure on her jagged wound. Her energy was draining, and nectar and ambrosia would have to wait until after Kaldur and Red Arrow found her â if they even would.Â
âWhat a way to go.â She muttered to herself in Greek, closing her eyes from the pain but trying to stay awake.
~~~
Fortunately for the young heroes, the guns Thea had heard did not maim the ambassadors, but rather an attacking Shadow. Sportsmaster and Cheshire had disappeared, but the treaty had been signed.
âI can't believe we just did a solid for Lex Luthor.â Red Arrow complained as he and Aqualad walked through the building.
âNot for Luthor, for peace.â Kaldur said, looking around for Thea and concluding that she must be outside.
âBeyond that, if Ra's and the League of Shadows wanted to sabotage the Summit, the signing of the treaty renders their contract moot. It is over.â He assured.
âIs it?â Red Arrow questioned as they stepped outside.
âI heard what Sportsmaster said. Do you really think there's a mole on your team feeding him intel?âÂ
âI cannot rule out the possibility.â Kaldur said diplomatically.
âI will investigate quietly.â He said.
âNot tell them?â Red Arrow asked, surprised.
âI do not want the unit unraveling over baseless suspicions. And if there is a mole, I have no wish to tip him or her off.â Kaldur explained.
âGood luck with that.â Red Arrow said with a salute, turning to walk away.
âOne moment, my friend.â Kaldur said.
âTonight, you could have called Green Arrow for help or the Justice League. Instead, your first instinct was to call the Cave.â He observed.
Red Arrow paused.
âYou're right. The team deserves⊠has my respect.â Red Arrow admitted.
âI'm still getting used to this solo act stuff. But if you need me, I'll be there.â He said kindly, moving to shake Kaldurâs hand.
The boys stepped away from each other. Red Arrow stopped suddenly, furrowing his eyebrows, looking off past the fountain. Without saying anything to Kaldur, he broke into a run toward the treeline.
âArrow?â Kaldur called after him, but the hero was too distracted and said nothing.
Kaldur, confused, followed after him.
~~~
Thea had remained awake, but was afraid to try to get up due to the injury in her side. She saw Kaldur and Red Arrow walking out of the building, but her voice was strained and she couldnât yell to get their attention. As much as she had her issues with the man, when Red Arrow looked over in her direction, she was relieved.
He ran up to her, having spotted her before Kaldur. When he reached her he immediately scanned her body, seeing cuts across her arms and legs as well as whatever injury she was hiding with her shirt.Â
âHoly shit, what happened?â He asked, kneeling next to her, lifting up her makeshift compress to view her injury before pushing it back down with more pressure.
Thea gasped at the sting.
âDid a Shadow do this to you?â He asked, concerned and confused.
She shook her head.
âStymphalian birds.â She croaked.
âWhat?â The boy asked.
Thea smiled a little bit.
âGreek monsters â theyâre like scary, flesh-eating pigeons.â She explained.
âJesus.â Red Arrow muttered under his breath.
âYeah.â The girl chuckled, moving to prop her arms behind her and pull herself up.
âOh, hell no.â Red Arrow said, pushing her back down.
Kaldur came jogging up behind Red Arrow. His eyes widened with guilt and concern as he saw Thea in her condition.
âTheaâŠâ He trailed off.
âItâs okay. Iâll be fine.â The girl attempted to reassure though neither boy seemed convinced.
âWe need to get you to the med bay.â Kaldur said, putting himself in leader mode to mitigate his distress.
âThatâd be great.â Thea said, clenching her teeth as she shifted against the tree.Â
âIâll help.â Red Arrow said, leaving no room for argument.
The boys nodded at each other, each moving down to grab Thea under her shoulders.
They pulled her up, Red Arrow keeping pressure on her wound.
âWait!â Thea said before they could start moving.
âMy dagger, itâs right over there.â She said, pointing a little ways away.
Red Arrow shouldered all of Theaâs weight, and nodded at Kaldur who stepped away to pick up the girlâs weapon.
âThank you.â Thea said, reaching out to grab it.
âI can hold onto it for now, letâs just get you back to the cave.â
With Red Arrow and Kaldur both supporting her, the three young heroes hobbled back to the zeta tube.
âThis is where I leave you. At least, assuming youâve got it from here. If you need me, I can stay.â Red Arrow said.
âWeâll manage.â Kaldur told him and Thea confirmed with a nod.
âArrow!â She called as the archer began to walk away.
âThank you.â She said sincerely.
The boy smiled.
âYouâre welcome.â He said.
âAnd, Thea? You can call me Roy.â
~~~
Kaldur had carried Thea to the med bay in the cave, helped her dress the wound in her side, and after some discussion, even got her to sit down on a gurney. The girl protested, but after seeing the worry in Kaldurâs eyes, she agreed.Â
âI got what you asked for.â Kaldur said as he walked back into the room, carrying Theaâs satchel.
âThank you.â She smiled, reaching into the bag to pull out a small flask and a ziplock with small, yellow cubes.
Grabbing a piece of ambrosia, Thea took a bite. Closing her eyes, she savored the taste of her dadâs homemade sourdough. It had been a long time since she had seen â or had wanted to see â her father, but the taste never failed to make her feel at home.
Kaldur smiled at the peaceful look on Theaâs face before getting up to grab some disinfectant and cloth to clean the cuts on her arms and legs. Thea swallowed her bite and opened her eyes to watch Kaldur. In some ways, it reminded her of times she got stuck in the Apollo cabin with injuries. Kaldurâs gentleness, though, made the moment far more tranquil.
Kaldur held Theaâs wrist gently as he wiped the antiseptic over the cuts on her arm. He had a small frown on his face as he worked. Thea knew that look.
âIâm okay, Kaldur.â She murmured softly, looking at her injuries, not meeting his eyes.
Kaldur sighed gently.Â
âI know that you will recover. But I am still upset to see you injured, especially from an unsanctioned mission I convinced you to go on.â He mutters, a hint of self-loathing seeping into his tone. Thea grabbed his wrist gently, halting his movements. She looked up at him.
âIt isnât your fault, Kaldur. My injuries have nothing to do with the mission. This is just a⊠occupational hazard, I guess. Courtesy of being a demigod. Iâm fine.â She insisted quietly.
Kaldur was unconvinced.
âYou should have called for help. We would have helped. IâŠâ He trailed off, unable to articulate his thoughts.
Thea sighed gently.
âI know you would have helped me. Of course you would have.â Thea reassured. âI just⊠I was being stupid. I forgot that I had comms in. Iâm still⊠Iâm still not used to this whole âhaving back upâ thing.â She chuckled weakly. âUsually when you get cornered by a monster⊠youâre on your own.â She said sadly.
Kaldur paused, face softening at her words. Thea let go of his wrist and he resumed cleaning her cuts, mulling over his next words.
âI understand that. It is⊠quite the transition. Learning how to work with a team.â He acknowledged softly. âBut youâre not on your own.â He concluded, voice gentle but firm.
Thea smiled up at him, letting him maneuver her arm to reach her scrapes and cuts.Â
âNo. Not anymore.â She agreed.
