The title of this chapter may be a little bit cheeky, but I think it fits, for a chapter that is entirely pwp. Yes, 8k words of disrespectful smut serves the plot... because... *checks flashcards* "it develops/furthers the relationship between the two main characters" ... yeah. that's it. definitely. but in all seriousness, I hope you all enjoy this chapter. I haven't figured out everyone's lore yet (lol) but here are the mermen of this AU and sea creatures they are based off, either from look or other traits.

(why Giyuu is an eel? Cause my first thought when I saw that eel was 'whats up with this dude' which is the same phrase when I first saw Giyuu)

Do you know that Tiger Shark eats almost anything? Kinda like Genya with demons, they're both gluttonous :)

I thought of having Gyomei with Basking Shark but I am still not sure.

There are a lot of things I am unsure about, like Douma cause my first choice was Crocodile Icefish and why is Yoriichi a small fish? Cause I said so (honestly Idk what to put him as)

I thought of Akaza as mantis shrimp cause they pack powerful punches tho hrmm I am not sure.

Misc characters part 1 plus a different Uzui bc I ended up changing what I wanted to do with him for the au The idea with Nezuko is that the main drive for Tanjiro and her's entry into the guild is that something happens to Nezuko causing her to semi-evolve in spikes based off strong emotions. Almost always multiple eeveelutions at once have traits pop up at this with the exception of Espeon. Whiiich is what she finally evolves into after their fight with Hantengu, causing the uncontrollable semi-evolutions to stop.

… almost getting scammed by an astrology website with Zenitsu, before finally agreeing that the free version is fine, and who believes in astrology anyway? Clearly, you’re made for each other (despite there being some ~areas of conflict between your charts). 

… board games with Inosuke until one of you rage quits, and the other has to convince them to: stop sulking in the bathroom, and play again. Who rage quits usually depends on the game, and you’re much better at goading him into another round than he is at bribing you.

… a quiet stroll out with Gyomei, so not exactly staying in, but still more peaceful and mindful than going to a bar or attending an event. He compares your presence to the radiant fullness of the moon, and you tuck a fallen flower behind his ear. “How do you know what the moon feels like?” He doesn’t quite know how to explain gentle, mystical tug of moonrise, so he settles for, “I can feel you, and that is more than enough.”

… cleaning and redecorating Kaburamura’s cage with Obanai. It’s a little gross, and a lot of a fun. From teasing him for his obvious doting, “Does Kaburamura really need six donut cozies?” to being flat out rejected, “Sooo that’s a no to body painting? It’s safe for humans! How could it not be safe for snakes?” You end up falling asleep as he dutifully photographs Kaburamura curled up on your shoulder #guess I’ll finish cleaning by myself.

… doing Tanjirou’s make up, and him doing yours. If you don’t own any make up, then you go on a field trip (minimal budget). You randomly pick themes (old fashioned via “from a hat” or modern via “app for raffle draw”), set a time limit, and then send photos of your final looks to your Hashira + Kamaboko group chat to decide on a winner.

… making the most outlandish cocktails (or mocktails) you can think of with Mitsuri. They have to be intricate, original, AND taste delicious (~just okay suffices too), or you put on a pair of socks. By the end of the evening, you’re drunk (or sugar high) as heck, and have at least four pairs of socks on.

… a project with Shinobu. Whether that’s tackling a Lego set, making candles, or deep cleaning a specific room (likely the kitchen or bathroom), the laughter is ever constant, frustration to be expected, and resulting pride and excitement at the final product a worthy reward — not to mention the way she kisses you afterward! *happy sigh*

… cooking with Kyojuro #bet you didn’t see that coming #sarcasm intended teehee. Sometimes it’s complicated, hours long endeavors; other times it’s spaghetti; and there’s always take out if your fancy Huntsman pie doesn’t go to plan. He’s almost unbearably efficient when it comes to cooking tidily, and chops vegetables so quickly that you just marvel at how his fingers are intact.

… watching a movie with Sanemi. This includes: ~arguing over which movie to watch for a solid hour (give or take), another twenty minutes for snack prep, and another half an hour to spontaneously design and build a pillow fort (for the optimal movie watching experience, of course). Even when it’s a movie he swears he despises, he’ll still stay awake through the whole damn thing because it matters to you, and you matter to him.

… creating scavenger hunts for each other with Muichiro. You roll dice to determine who gets to claim which room(s) and in what order, set up your hunts, and then hunt (duh)! Winner gets to choose dinner (or dessert if you already ate dinner), and loser gets to cook aforementioned dinner (or dessert). You usually win, but he notices when you begin making his clues easier, and promptly informs you that he’d rather lose honestly than win on Easy Mode. “Your happy noises whenever I feed you are prize enough for me.”

… planning your future with Giyuu. It’s easy to get caught up in the mayhem of Life™, so evenings in are a grounding, intimate opportunity to reconnect and recenter with him. From cuddling on the couch to dancing in the kitchen to watching the moon’s traverse through your favorite window, you discuss current stressors, recent successes, and your gratitude for each other. It may seem simple, but it’s the little things that fit most snugly in your hearts. “Where do you see us in a year? Five years? A decade?” you ask. His answer remains constant: “Together.”

… reading with Tengen. He’ll read to you, or you to him; you’ll share a book, or the couch, or the bed; and you alternate who gets up to brew more tea. If you prefer audio books, then he’ll occasionally eavesdrop, and when it’s your turn to be on tea duty, you more often than not return to a cute sticky note (with dramatic commentary regarding the chapter you’re on) bookmarking your page.

for some reason tonight i cant stop thinking about different pairings for the infinity castle arc. what if shinobu had met akaza first, where she reminds him of poison-users, but he can't attack her due to her gender and her revenge wouldn't work on a demon who doesn't eat women? what if it was gyomei who met kaigaku, and genya with him seeing just how bad older brother figures could really be? or tanjiro and muichirou as a team meeting kokushibo, reminding him of yoriichi in different aspects of themselves. sanemi getting frustrated over douma's fake personality while giyuu takes no shit because he's so used to shinobu poking at him. iguro and yushiro finding each other first and sort of getting along because each of them worship a girlboss. mitsuri meeting inosuke and his loud personality who doesn't understand social norms, meaning he doesn't care that a woman is strangely strong. kanao meeting zenitsu against like nakime or someone where each of their heightened senses picks up fear from the other, and though they have multiple different reasons, one similar worry is failing those they love.

like. hello? there could've been so many different lifelong relationships if nakime had strum her biwa even slightly differently.

How does main trio view Douma and via verse. Especially Inosuke.

Zenitsu is terrified of him. His heart sounds off and his voice is too perfect and he almost killed his friend. Now he's just hanging around a hashira??? What the heck is wrong with everyone??? Why aren't they doing anything???

Tanjiro does not like him because after Gyokko and Hantengu died, Douma had tried to finish the mission himself which meant he ended up fighting him, Genya and Nezuko (and leaving Muichiro to die to Gyokko's poison). The only reason they survived was because Douma found them interesting and dragged the fight out until Mitsuri arrived and they fought instead. Tanjiro would very much like to headbutt Douma a few times before he considers them even. He still has reservations about having Douma anywhere near humans.

Inosuke recognizes him as a strong person to fight - but Douma is uninterested in fighting him. He also doesn't like him for the state he left Tanjiro and the others in. Doesn't see a point to him being there and when he remembers his existence he thinks they should kill him. He's super annoying and makes his fur stand on end when he catches him staring at him sometimes.

Douma wants to poke at Zenitsu because he's so scared of him. He just wants to be friends and Zenitsu's reactions to him are what he thinks most people would find hilarious.

Douma is interested in Tanjiro because Muzan was interested in him. Other than that, he finds him unremarkable. If Tanjiro asked, he would let him headbutt him. For now he just dodges cause he's not sure why Tanjiro does it.

Douma doesn't recognize Inosuke at first and when he does, he remembers Kotoha. He remains interested in Inosuke and how different he is from his mother. Inosuke's desire to fight him kinda drives him off though since he promised Mitsuri he wouldn't get into any scuffles. This also means he doesn't tell anyone he killed his mom - that would definitely cause a scuffle.

You didn't ask but since he did meet them...

Douma thinks Genya is super cool! He's never seen his ability before. He's offered Genya a bite of himself but Genya always yells at him to leave him alone. The big stupid rock man also drives him off a lot. So rude.

Nezuko is also very interesting to him! She's pretty strong for never eating a human. Maybe he can get some tips from her? It'd make being friends with Mitsuri way easier. If only she'd stop growling at him.

He's very surprised Muichiro survived being poisoned. He's also impressed with how strong he is for his age. So sad that being a demon slayer means he's probably gonna die young. Boy does he have a mouth on him though.

Hello hello, I know this chapter is shorter/less eventful than usual, but I needed to create a bit of an interlude, because the upcoming events 👀... I had to break it up because of that. I hope you all forgive a less edge-of-your seat type installment, but i do think the contents of this update make a nice bridge between "parts" of this story. This is your fault asshole!” The blond brats head yelled from his place on the ground the Kaigaku who head yelled back “Huh how this my fault wimp!” Kaigaku snarled “You and your dumbass hair eels should have ripped apart the ribbon sword wielding brat!” The blond rolled his yellow eyes.” I couldn't, that idiot boar was still alive and managed to slice them all off! Why didn't you help me!” Kaigaku once again snarled “ I was too busy dealing with that stupid Hashira! But the slayer with pink eyes was still alive so I figured I should have dealt with her first since you keep whining about wanting to eat her eyes!” The blond growled “I could have taken care of her on my own! You scum this is all your fault you trash-” Kaigaku finally snaps “SHUT UP!” the blond shocked finally stops talking “ Don't give that crap! IF ANYONE HERE IS TRASH IT'S YOU!” Kaigaku doesn't notice the tears coming out of the quiet blond's eyes nor does he notice the slayer in the pink kimono and her demon brother watching them from afar. Kaigaku takes a huge breath and continues to yell “IF YOU WERE ON YOUR OWN YOU'D BE DEAD BY NOW!” The younger brother's tears leak out even more but Kaigaku continues, his voice becoming softer but still full of rage “Your the useless one and you know it you can't stand on your own feet… DAMMIT IF IT WASN'T FOR YOU I WOULDN'T BE DY-” A hand covered his mouth muffeling his words. It was the black hair girl slayer “Don't say that you know you don't mean it.”Think about everything you've done no one will forgive you.” She took a shay breath “All you have is each other so please stop fighting” The blond finally broke and began to sob .”Why don't you mind your own business!” He sobbed and yelled louder “Who do you think you are to lecture us! Do us all a favor and get lost!” his voice became softer when he spoke again “I can't believe this is happening. I'M NOT READY TO DIE YET! I DONT WANNA DIE ANIKI!” Kaigaku was in shock even though yelled at him calling him useless and trash his younger brother sought him out for comfort.“Please help me Aniki” the younger face finally began crumbling and Kaigaku could only watch in despair as his baby brother disappeared “ZENITSU!!!” That's right, his brother's name was Zenitsu. Kaigaku felt himself crumble and everything went black

Nezuko held the disappearing head in her hands while her older brother in his toddler form looked at the display with sadness in his eyes feeling a bit pity for the brothers. Nezuko spoke after the head was fully gone “ I hope they made up
