I haven't posted much art lately. So here's a test concept for a more anthomorphic looking dragon design for Thomas! Design notes below the cut!

For a while, I wasn't sure if I wanted to characters to walk on all fours or two legs. So I decided to see what it would look like with two. I was strongly inspired by old Disney animation and Don Bluth films for this concept. I have to say I really like it! I might have the characters alternate between four and two legs, depending on what the situation calls for. I also have a design for Diesel 10 AND Lady in the works!

Anyways, hope you all like it. I was a little shy about posting it. It's not final or anything.😅

I only got the idea as I'm typing this, so if you haven't read the info book which I reccomend you should to catch up on the info of my AU (It's on Wattpad), you'd know that Henry and Gordon adopted Thomas and Percy

Gordon would poriposefully piss percy and thomas off and knowing fine well they cant do anything abt it while Henry forgets fathers day even is a thing so Thomas and Percy HAVE to remind him about it the entire day

Sir Topham Hatt is a BILLIONAIRE?!

Ok, so I just discovered this, and I was wondering if anyone else had discovered this - but apparently the Fat Controller is richer than Mr Burns according to Forbes magazine?! And he's worth $2 Billion USD, for his massive railway empire, vintage locomotive collection and real estate holdings.

Ok, I'm sorry - but Sir Topham Hatt is worth more than Rihanna, and to make matters even more interesting - $2 billion is what Forbes pegged his worth at in 2010 (and then continuously to today, where he still is amongst the 15 wealthiest fictional characters according to Forbes).

What's the betting he's worth more now? The Thomas and Friends franchise has made approximately $9.12 billion USD in its lifetime - putting it on par with Jurassic Park, Angry Birds and Dragon Ball in worth, and meaning that the little blue tank engine is worth more than Mario. Are you saying Sir Topham wouldn't have invested in this media juggernaut? Not to mention the fact that as an industrialist and transport tycoon who has a monopoly on transport on and off the famed Island of Sodor, he probably makes a ridiculous amount of money every year from tourism.

And that's before we mention that one little fact that his family is intertwined with all the other major players on the island, including the Earl, the Viscount, the Brown family (Skarloey Railway) and the Croarie family (Anopha Quarry). So the Hatt name has several other prominent families backing it.

Does this make Sodor an oligarchy? The Brown family is a political dynasty with a railway, the Croarie family owns the largest quarry on Sodor (if not possibly England, seeing as its still running, 100 years on), the Norramby family holds an Earldom, the Regaby family is both part of the railway and holds a Viscountcy, and the Hatt family runs a transport empire, which includes all the major ports on the island, as well as holding a Baronetcy.

Um... so Sir Topham Hatt might actually be worth even more than he's listed as owning? Cause I talked about all of this without mentioning the Sodor Aluminium Company, which the NWR owns a sizeable stake in.

The Hatt Family is making bank off mineral wealth, manufacturing, transport, tourism, real estate, generational wealth and tourism. And all this with a vintage fleet of steam engines (which only add to his net worth, due to their rarity and star-value).

So, uh... how do I get in on this?

I decided to write a short fanfic story on one of @dragons-and-magic’s shipping, which is James x Nia!❤️🧡

I just find this shipping so good and adorable! I think it’s one of the most rarest and underrated shipping!😅

Before the fanfiction begin, I wanted to shoutout to @dragons-and-magic as their AU is awesome and beautiful!😭💖

Anyways, let’s begin…

Ruby and Topaz

Springtime arrived on Sodor, the most paradise place got dragons. Everything was beautiful. The waterfall was more glistening, the flowers were blooming, and many animals began to play.

As cliche it sounds, it was the season of love. Many dragons started to find their own mates or confess to their crush. The dragons were powerful yet majestic and beautiful creatures.

…

One day, a red fiery Dragon cross Wyvern dragon, named James, was strolling with such pride, but yet had a humble side. He closed his eyes and walked through the forest. He was humming to a random melody when he paused himself.

He heard a giggle. He opened his eyes and turned around. There, he saw Thomas and Ashima playing around as they nudged each other. James frowned and rolled his eyes as he saw a river.

There, he lowered his head and began to drink some fresh water. All was well until…

“Hello, James.”, a female voice greeted him.

James froze before he lifted his head and gasped silently.

There, stood a beautiful and colourful African Painted Wyvern, named Nia, and she was smaller than James, “What are you doing?”, she grinned as she batted her eyes fast.

James gulped as he slowly walked back. The orange Wyvern approached him, “What’s the matter? A fish caught your tongue?”

As she walked slowly towards him, James walked further back until he tripped over a rock. He landed funny as he looked up and blushed madly.

Nia chuckled as she thought he was spelt used but a big goofball. James yelped as he walked backwards until his horns got caught by the cherry blossom tree.

James shook his head violently until Nia approached and licked his cheek as he closed his eyes shut. After that, Nia rubbed her head against his chest and started purring and chirping happily and lovingly.

The red hybrid dragon opened his eyes wide before he looked at his beloved wyvern and smiled. There, the two nudged their heads and purred. Although Nia teases James, he can’t help but fall for her and their love was so strong and powerful.

After that, Nia booped his nose with her tail as she began to fly into the sky. James smirked as he flew after her. There, they teased and play games up in the beautiful blue sky. They laughed and played as they were enjoying their times.

…

After hours of playing, they rested at the top of the waterfall, watching the sunset. There, Nia rested her head under James’ chin and whispered, “I love you.”

“And I love you, Nia.”, James responded as the two nudged and purred while watching the dying sun.

Question to anyone willing to answer: Do you guys have any opinions on the fact that the Talyllyn Railway has its own kids show (on S4C, the Welsh language channel connected with the BBC)? It's 'Dreigaiu Cadi' and its got two dragons in it, it's kinda cute, and I wish they'd show it on TV in England because it feels like we've got a drought of good TV shows coming out of the BBC.

SKARLOEY: Oh it's just wonderful isn't it? My twin and his railway deserve recognition and to be put out there in the world, just as much as we do on the Island of Sodor.

SIR HANDEL: Why can't we have dragons here?

More stories that Grant can make up with his model trains when he rebuilds his model railway layout.

Caitlyn plays Keepy-Uppy. Dorie’s little sister Caitlyn came to the docks to see Thomas was awaiting a friend of his. Fernando was coming to visit Sodor all the way from Brazil. He was gonna show Thomas and his friends how to play Keepy-Uppy, a game where the engines have to keep the beach ball in the air.

Rosie to the rescue. Rosie wants to know what it’s like to being a rescue engine. She decided to go on patrol and look around for any emergencies.

Gordon goes the extra mile. Gordon the big engine was given the extra mile award for saving the ice cream. But Philip was envious of it and wanted to know what it’s like to wear a special rosette. But a bird took Gordon’s award and flew away. Will Philip get it back before Gordon comes back from his express runs?

Dominic and the Duke and Duchess. Spencer came to visit Sodor and he was being as boastful as ever. But when he got into an accident one day, the Duke and Duchess of Boxford were worried that they wouldn’t be able to get to their important dinner at Vicarstown station. So, Dominic volunteered to take them in Spencer’s special passenger cars.

Smith and the track cleaner. Smith was very excited. A new track cleaning wagon had arrived on Sodor and he was gonna pull it along and clean the tracks. Sir Topham Hatt wants to make sure he cleans all the tracks on every part of the line.

Kayley and the mysterious critter. Kayley was taking the workmen to do some late night track maintenance in the forest. But then she saw something moving through the air. It looked like a furry creature with a bushy tail and it can fly. Kayley told the other engines, but some thought it was a load of rubbish. But Thomas told Kayley to ask zookeeper Jack from the animal park to find out what it is. And it’s actually a flying squirrel.

A spicy hot delivery. Noor Jehan the diesel engine from India came to visit Sodor with a delivery that came all the way from her home. It was a delivery of fruit and vegetables from India. Thomas saw some coconuts. But he saw a vegetable he had never seen before. It was none other than Indian dragon fire peppers, one of the hottest peppers in the world.

The little old twins reunite. Skarloey was feeling sad because for the past few years, his twin brother on the mainlands Talyllyn hasn’t ran in a long time and was worried his twin would be scrapped, as told by Diesel, as well as Splatter and Dodge. Sir Handel told Skarloey not to take any notice, but then one day, Skarloey woke up to find a huge surprise. Talyllyn was in his shed! He told him that he had been fully repaired a few weeks ago and is back in service and came to visit his twin.

Not-so-tuneful toots. Rusty the little diesel got himself into an accident at the quarry with the troublesome trucks, which ended up causing his horn to only make the low note. Will Rusty be able to cope with this before he goes to the Vicarstown Dieselworks to be fixed by Den and Dart?

Dart goes solo. After Daisy’s sister, Rose the diesel railcar broke down due to some sand getting into her engine, Sir Topham Hatt requested Dart to look after her passenger duties while Den repairs Rose. Dart was bummed that he wasn’t gonna work alongside Den, but he knew he pulled passengers before when he pulled the express with Den & Sidney. But can he handle a local train?

Stafford’s super stopped. Stafford had broken down when making a delivery, but his battery was fully charged. But Amanda volunteered to lend him a wheel. But will she get Stafford’s passengers to the station to catch their bus before dark?

Poy and the popcorn. There was going to be an Ultratrain movie playing in the ride-in theater, and Poy was requested to deliver the popcorn there, but a flock of pigeons wanted to eat it. Poy wanted to get away from them, but pigeons are fast too. Will she get the popcorn to the ride-in before the pigeons try to eat all the popcorn in her freight cars?

CASA TIDMOUTH’S MOST NORMAL AND RELIABLE RAILWAY WORKERS: THE NEWBIES OF ACT 2

Rebecca Nassif

Age: 23 Occupation: NWR 22's driver

A bright and optimistic newcomer to Sodor’s railways, Rebecca is the trainee for the express that Gordon took under his wing. She always sees the bright sides of things and firmly believes that there’s always a way out in every situation… which makes her prone to accidents due to how she is quick to act and late to see both sides of things. She’s also very clueless to Sodor’s cultural quirks and supernatural occurrences which always makes her seniors worry, while she can only giggle and say “Oops!” whenever confronted about it.

Underneath her cheerful demeanor, Rebecca can’t exactly understand the circumstances others went through or relate to them, and she secretly always felt bad about it. Yet due to her upbringing, she can’t help but feel like other’s feelings and worries are her responsibilities, making her fear that she could possibly strain her relationships every time she failed to understand them. Could this be the reason that she always try her best to make others smile…?

Trivia:

Her family runs a small catering service. The wave of gentrification in her hometown that eventually impacted their business is what made her decide to take action and support her family despite her parents’ discouragement.

Rebecca’s father wanted her to settle down with someone well off and live a peaceful life, not having to worry about her family. Even though she loves her father dearly and is usually obedient, she went against his words and moved to Sodor the moment she heard that the railways there are in desperate need of new workers hiring. She had no idea what she signed up for.

She has a calico cat named Eli.

She strongly sees her dad in Gordon. She also calls him “Coach”, something that he doesn’t mind. Her jokes and wisecracks always make him stifle his laughter.

The sheer willpower and unparalleled determination of Sudrians always hype her up. When asked about a word she can use to describe her Sudrian colleagues, she replied with “hardcore”.

Likes: her parents’ cooking, pistachio kulfi, orange-flavored gum, ridiculous meathead animes like Dragon Ball

Dislikes: overly complicated pieces of literature, rich people that can’t appreciate culinary arts

Nia Eunike Wanjala

Age: 24 Occupation: NWR 18's driver

Even though she’s generally friendly and cordial to her peers, Nia can be described as an extremely honest individual. She’s not sarcastic, she’s not being rude, just really honest and straight-to-the-point. This stems from her mindset to expect the worst in any situation in order to not disappoint herself with any bad outcome that might happen. Nia also loathes being pitied and automatically assumes that people feel sorry for her whenever they show even a semblance of kindness or worry to her. This becomes a problem to her as she wanted to show genuine care and appreciation for her peers yet couldn’t bring herself to trust them, thus making others think of her as distant even though she didn’t mean to.

Under her bluntness, she’s actually quite understanding of other’s troubles and always gives out rational advice (though she also points out what they need to fix and generally not biased). Even so, she wants to trust others and longs for strong bonds with the people she care about, but her skepticism prevented her from doing so. She kept rocking back and forth between catering to others’ needs and wanting to do the things she personally wants to do. At the end of the day, she just wishes someone could at least see the good intentions that she showed through her actions.

Trivia:

She tries her best to respect Thomas – younger yet much more experienced than her – and James – still proud but now much wiser – because they’re her seniors, but she always felt exasperated at their clowneries. The thing that always surprised her is that despite all their tomfooleries, they somehow always got their jobs done.

She moved to Sodor after a chain of events that started off from a particular flood that washed over her small hometown and destroyed her childhood home. She hopped from job to job and city to city to support her family, but after many trials and tribulations, she found a newspaper that mentioned something about Sodor in desperate need of new workers hiring railway workers.

Unlike her fellow newbie, she quickly catches on to the small island’s mysteries because she already counted the risks it has to offer… and she knows this won’t get easy for her.

She actually gets flustered easily, especially when showing genuine appreciation (that isn’t part of her “obligation”).

Whenever she gets nervous or is panicking, she starts counting prime numbers.

She’s interested in magic tricks. When she was a kid, a lot of kids like to watch her perform simple magic tricks. In actuality, she’s mainly interested in the science and mechanics behind them. She also thinks it’s quite a good way to kickstart a friendship.

The sheer willpower and unparalleled determination of Sudrians sometimes scare her. When asked about a word she can use to describe her Sudrian colleagues, she replied with “weird”.

Likes: the Gatsby sandwich, magic tricks (her go-to is the infinite handkerchief trick), dandelions Dislikes: heavy rain, dishonesty, people that hide secrets for the sake of others

Hello! I have some questions for you and your wolf AU!

1: What is the wolves home like? Is it a cave? What kinda of cave? Stuff like that!

2: Is there just one wolf pack, or many in the forest?

3: Are all the characters either wolves or humans? Or are they're other species for the non train characters? Like Harold and Cranky.

4: What's the name so the forest they live in? Is it one Sodor, or somewhere else?

5: What colors are the wolves? Regular wolf colors, or are they bright and colorful like the engines?

6: Anything about Percy and James honestly. Maybe a favorite tidbit or headcanon about them. I love them so much!

They live in a big den in quote a spacious territory and near their home is a waterfall, where the wolves drink or play in the water.

There is more than one pack. Most of the packs are allies to one another like Scot’s Pack or Diesel 10’s Pack.

Alright, the engines, diesels, and electric engines are wolves, the coaches are squirrels, the brakevans are weasels, the cranes are lynxes, road vehicles like buses or Jack and The Pack are foxes, flying vehicles are eagles, boats are elks, and the troublesome trucks are skunks. The humans we know are still humans.

Its just ‘The Forest’ as it’s wide and huge, but where the immortal wolves dwell, they call it ‘The Safe Zone’ as they avoid humans as they hunt them for medicine, trophies, or sport purpose.

Good question actually! The immortal animals, aka, the TTTE Characters are like their engine colours with swirls on them, each are unique like a fingerprint.

I’ll give you their dynamic. James used to be nasty and a jerk to Percy at first until Thomas made them get along through adventures, and the two bonded. They are like brothers now with James annoying and teasing Percy while Percy annoys James too, but James is now VERY protective of Percy from any danger and same with Thomas.
