Can’t find a fic called Small…it was on Ao3 a while ago and now I can’t find it…I can’t remember the name of the author but the story was centered around Dramiones height difference. Can you help?

The author removed her stories from AO3 and put them onto her own website, which was also deleted. So the story is gone.

After a month of not seeing new piercings appear on his body, Hermione was about to give up and just assumed he stopped getting new ones—until she heard Theo telling everyone that Draco had stopped getting piercings after his fifth one a few weeks ago. Cat Daddy by @holygnocchi and hellodarknessdarling. M, 3.7k. While their friend groups have slowly blended over the years, Hermione and Draco have remained resolutely outside of each others' orbit. Until fate in the form of a furry friend takes matters into his own paws.

Little Games by @qnqfanfic. E, 3.8k. Against her better judgment, Hermione Granger responds to a booty call.

The Vanishing Drawer by sodamnrad. E, 3.8k. She’d deposit the journal in the drawer and wait only a minute before it clunked back inside her desk. In between messages, she’d check the drawer and find it empty, meaning he was physically removing the notebook from his end, then sending it back to her. A vanishing drawer. Ingenious and tricky.

The Slap by @femmeecrivain. T, 3.9k. The slap happens, Draco's eyes are opened. And everything changes from there.

Granny Smiths by @chaoticcrumpets. T, 4k. The worst thing, Draco Malfoy thinks, about being the fallen scion of an ancient and noble house banished to the Muggle world for his various misdeeds, is undoubtedly the grocery shopping. At least it helps him to discover an unexpected talent.

Perfect by @kyonomiko. T, 4k. A very lonely 8th year through the eyes of Draco Malfoy. Everyone else seems to be getting along swimmingly.

Pumpkin Pie by @scullymurphy. E, 4.1k. “Are you comparing me to a pumpkin pie?” She lifted her head and looked at him. “Yes, It’s really very close—” He dove back down. “Let me just see...”

When Hermione finds him down at the Quidditch pitch, she just might change her mind about how upset she is.

Lie With Me by @mightbewriting. M, 4.8k. In which a single evening involves fake dating, only one bed, and the idea that sometimes things can be easy.

Strange Encounters by happy_valley. T, 4.8k. Of all the situations Hermione Granger had found herself in throughout the years, this was arguably the strangest.

Universal Laws by @misdemeanor1331. T, 4.8k. The initial report arrives mid-afternoon, prefaced by a note scrawled in Harry’s untidy hand. Hermione reads it twice before tucking it into Draco’s file. The Auror Office’s version of events is too sanitised to be helpful. It provides the broad strokes, but Hermione is a Healer. Diagnosis depends on details. If she has to wait for the primary source to regain consciousness, then so be it.

Standard of Care by misdemeanor1331. T, 4.9k. St. Mungo’s doesn’t play politics. They expect their Healers to deliver a high standard of care to every patient, regardless of past associations. But when Hermione discovers that Draco is her assigned Healer, she doubts that St. Mungo’s had ever considered a past association as fraught as theirs.

Heart in the Whole by @floorcoaster. G, 4.9k. Draco pulls Hermione's name for a Secret Santa exchange.

Must Be the Whisky by in_dreams. M, 4.9k. Hermione sees Draco twice a year, at her birthday and his. Until that isn't nearly enough.

Exposure by @biscuitsforpotter. E, 4.9k. Hermione has been attracted for her best friend for years. Draco Malfoy, now a famous photographer, is absolutely gorgeous and completely oblivious. Hermione wants to make him realize how she feels about him, but she'll have to step out of her comfort zone to get there.

Snowdrifts by in_dreams. T, 4.9k. The under-utilised Centaur Liaison Office isn't big enough for the two of them—especially not when a holiday decor feud leads to both Draco and Hermione trapped inside with a snowstorm.

Strange Birds by Heyjude19. M, 4.9k. She’s right here; solid and real and welcoming. Slipping through his undeserving fingers. Is he allowed a trauma timeline? He has no idea when it’s appropriate for him to reach suffering’s endpoint and move on.

I’m With You by @ohlenalena. T, 4.9k. Hermione Granger and Draco Malfoy start seeing one another behind their friends' backs and this obviously backfires.

A Cat, A Dog, & the Unimaginable by @annaritali. T, 4.9k. There are certain steps in a relationship.

Transparency by mightbewriting. T, 4.9k. In which Draco and Hermione slowly come together in their eighth year, as observed by a ghost.

Naughty or Nice by @morriganmercy. E, 4.9k.  A potion reveals that Hermione isn't the only one who has made some changes during their first year away from Hogwarts. Draco Malfoy seems to have a very high opinion of himself, and she can't resist finding out why.

Sehnsucht by @ambpersand. E, 4.9k. Sehn·sucht /[ˈzeːnˌzʊxt]/ [noun] Tender, wistful, and/or melancholic desire; yearning, longing. Hermione is ready to go home for the holidays, but there's something missing.

Crash into Christmas by scullymurphy. M, 4.9k. ‘What the fuck are you doing?’ Hermione mouthed from behind Roger’s beefy shoulder. But Malfoy just smiled brilliantly and slid off his stool, clapping Roger on the back and gathering their coats. Hermione heard him say something about the airport and a cab ride.

Roger turned toward a small corridor, gesturing at them to follow. Malfoy went quickly, but Hermione hung back. What the bloody hell was he playing at? Did he really mean to crash somebody’s Christmas party?

Almost Nothing At All by mightbewriting. T, 4.9k. He’d tucked too much of himself inside that little gift. Long muffled secrets, wishfulness, and a final concession made before laying it all to rest. That present had been meant to bring him peace. He’d known it was selfish, and he’d hoped she wouldn’t think much of it, wouldn't go looking too closely. But if there’s one thing he’s learned about Hermione Granger in the last five years, it’s that she digs in. With teeth, if necessary. He should have known. [In which five years of Draco Malfoy keeping his distance doesn't work.]

The Snowflake Effect by dreamsofdramione. M, 4.9k. Hermione, Sentimentality has never been my strong suit, but consider this an act of Firewhisky-fuelled bravery. When I sat down to write this, I had no idea what would end up on this page. I’ve spent this evening thinking back on our history and I’m feeling rather wistful.

Lilac Haze by @niffizzle. M, 4.9k. Draco was staring. How could he not? She looked exquisite, just like she had at the Yule Ball fifteen years prior. Periwinkle instead of lilac, a twist instead of draping curls, a fourth year on the arm of an international Quidditch star instead of the Deputy Headmistress in charge of making sure the night ran smoothly. So much had changed since then, and yet here they were, in the same castle where the same witch had rendered him speechless for not just the second time. Not that it mattered. They were co-workers. Friends. And that was the full extent of where their relationship could go.

Hot and Bothered (T, 2k) “Why don’t you two just kiss, if you’re so invested in who's better? Prove it to each other. You’re the only ones who care.” In the moment, she honestly expected them to laugh it off. But in hindsight, Hermione realized she should have known what would happen.

Strangers (M, 3k) The sexy couples photoshoot that's meant to match them with strangers finds Hermione and Draco paired up with each other.

Ms. Whiskers Makes a Match (T, 3.1k) Hermione Granger doesn't plan to groom pets forever, but it's a good way to put herself through veterinary school. It's an added bonus that weekends are usually quiet enough to sneak in some reading. Until Draco Malfoy shows up with "his mother's" cat, and suddenly her Saturday is a little more interesting.

Let’s Workshop This (M, 3.3k) Hermione gets caught working on her "creative writing" project at the office, and Draco offers his assistance.

The Worst (E, 3.3k) The apple paused halfway to Draco’s mouth. “Stepping out on me with someone else? Quite rude of you to not take the man you love.” “One of us is in love with you,” said Hermione agreeably. “But it’s not me.”

She’s All Yours (E, 3.7k) There was, Ron thought—as he watched his wife in bed with Malfoy—nothing he wouldn’t do for Hermione.

I decided to do a fic rec list of my 22 top fics that I read in 2022, from lots of different ships and fandoms. We’re here to celebrate the effort that fellow writers put into creating magic for us all, fanfiction is such a massive part of my life and I think it deserves to have a spotlight shone on it’s greatness. 

[I limited myself to 1 fic/series per author, which was more of a challenge than I thought it would be 😂]

So in no particular order and without further ado...

Bring Him to His Knees - 245k+, Dramione, E Rated

Draco is on the case of a murderer, but to investigate, he needs a fake relationship - and a kink club play partner. When Hermione volunteers to take the role, both do their best to maintain the lie without letting each other know the truth: neither of them are acting.

Solntse - 60k+, Wolfstar, E Rated

Sirius, a young Russian billionaire hires Remus, who is working part time as a call boy to make ends meet. Things happen, feelings occur.

Did You Miss Me - 640k+, Wolfstar & Jily, E Rated

Though the new boy at Hogwarts University, James Potter, appears to be an adorable himbo with deep pockets, Remus Lupin and his friends instead find a horrifically dark past on Google. Did he really attack that boy and leave him for dead? Why won't he talk about his mysterious childhood best friend, "Pups"? Would it kill him to stop messing with his hair?

At least Remus got his phone back after losing it, but now he can't stop texting the mysterious number of the man who had sent it back. Padfoot is funny and charming, and Remus is NOT going to fall in love with him.

The PB to my J [AKA the one that converted Jess into a Wolfstar writer] - 270k+, Wolfstar, E Rated 

A Modern AU Marauders texting with prose fic set at University.

Mainly Wolfstar - Will they? Won’t they? (They obviously will...) And a little bit of Jily too.

A Second Look - 120k+, Dramione, M Rated

Her best friend's life was a mess and she would have done anything to make things better for him and his sons. So, when she found her former enemy in a similar situation her heart went out to him as well... and the beautiful blond baby in his arms didn't hurt his case. It was certainly enough for her to give him a second look.

oh, I’m gonna let the future in - 40k+, Scorpius Malfoy/Albus Potter, T Rated

Al doesn’t know what he’s doing. Not just with the new apartment, but with his life in general, and it doesn't help that his family quietly looks down on him. It feels as if they’re always waiting for him to do something spectacular, but without actually expecting it of him. They’ve given up on expecting anything of him.

Al only speaks English, and he sings in the shower, badly. He likes tea, and he cleans when he’s stressed. He sees a therapist. He has a total of two friends, and one of them is his cousin. He isn’t smart; he’s simple.

He wishes that could be enough.

Brooklyn Heights Books - 180k+, Stucky, E Rated

A man wearing a light denim jacket over a dark blue shirt came into the shop, a box tucked under his right arm. Despite it being late afternoon, he was wearing sunglasses with bright blue lenses, and his long, dark hair was pulled back in a messy little bun. A few strands had escaped, framing his strong, unshaven jawline. The man looked into the café, smiled widely, and waved in Clint’s direction as he kept walking into the bookstore, and Steve’s mouth went completely dry.

Beautiful, was the only word to describe that smile; straight, white teeth framed by full, lush, red lips, bracketed by laugh lines and an adorable dimple in his right cheek, a charming little chin cleft just visible under the light stubble—Steve was struck literally speechless. And that was before he got a glimpse of the man’s backside. Slim hips and a round, firm-looking ass led to long, lean legs that were encased in snug, dark blue jeans.

“Guh,” Steve said, watching the dark-haired man continue on to the back of the store.

‘tis the damn season - 70k+, Wolfstar, T Rated

“Where are you going?”

Remus turns. Sirius looks delightful; wine-flush and December drizzle painting his pale, pretty face the deepest carmine red. His spindly hands are twiddling at his front, as if he doesn’t know quite what to do with them. He sniffs, and exhales corporeal ice that sends a shiver running down Remus’ spine. He’s not sure if it’s from the cold or the alcohol or… something else.

Clean - 115k+, Dramione, M Rated

Malfoy's handsome face was contoured into a condescending smirk. "No faith in that giant brain of yours, Granger?" She looked up at him defiantly. "Maybe I don't have faith in you!" she said, raising her voice. Malfoy only looked at her. "You'll find I'm very surprising." 

Second Generation - 45k+, Wolfstar, E Rated

Remus Lupin and Sirius Black spent their late teens in a happy haze of sex, troublemaking, and playing in their band, but break up in college. But when their respective children get in trouble together more than 20 years later, Remus and Sirius find themselves at odds with their very different parenting styles and dealing with a spark that was never quite extinguished.

In which Sirius did twelve years and meets Remus on a creative writing workshop.

Derek is being pressured by his family to pick a mate, and somehow stumbles into a choice that they didn't expect and aren't sure they approve of....

Jaime’s a famous action hero. Brienne is the stunt coordinator on his latest movie. She’s hated him since the moment they met, and the feeling is mutual. But there are ways to work out their aggression.

Lost & Found - 95k+, Jon Snow/Sansa Stark, E Rated

When she realizes the husband she knew had departed, and she now had cold & hard mobster in his place, Sansa fakes her death and starts a new life in Wales.

And then Jon finds her.

It gets so hard to breathe (when you’re looking at me) - 57k+, Wolfstar, E Rated

When Sirius turns up at Remus' flat after the events at the Triwizard Tournament, he doesn't expect to find himself sharing a bed with Remus. Or getting so intimately involved in his life. Or to find out that they're mates and Remus wants nothing more than to push him up against the wall and make him forget his own name.

Or to feel so very complete.

But Sirius isn't complaining. Not one bit.

The Player’s Secret - 50k+, Wolfstar, M Rated

“So what’s he like? Full of it? Arrogant?”

“Yes,” he says, because he thinks that is a fair assessment. Sirius Black is full of it. He is arrogant. He’s also entitled and needy and smug. He’s talented, reckless, moody, selfish, childish, charming and sweet, and a million different other things Remus is trying to wrap his head around.

Sirius Black is hard work.

Remus Lupin is a successful documentary filmmaker who is assigned to make a fly-on-the-wall documentary featuring Sirius Black - one of the world's most brilliant footballers - as he competes in the European Championship.

All does not go smoothly.

The Same Way I Like My Coffee - 35k+, Jon Snow/Sansa Stark, M Rated

Sansa Stark always liked her coffee hot and sweet. She finally found a guy that makes the sentence "I like my men the same way I like my coffee" real to her.

Jon snow has no right to be that hot.

Or: Sansa opens the coffee shop of her dreams, makes great friends and meets an unbelievably hot Jon Snow.

"when's the last time you let someone take care of you?"

Perhaps you can find some comfort and entertainment, fluff and angst and romance and friendship, smut and a distinct lack of it, space adventures and fantasy and modern adventures, serial killers and good guys, redemption and reconciliation and learning to become someone completely different — there is so much here I read that stuck with me over the past year, and the 2021 Fanfic Reading Challenge ( @fanfic-reading-challenge ) allowed me a new way to keep track of all of my favourites. So props to that event! Definitely participating again (considering I run the event, yeah, that's probably a given lol, but full disclosure).

Very stereotypical, I'm sure, but I do see Draco being tall (perhaps somewhere between 6'1 and 6'3) and Hermione being just around average/slightly below (maybe around 5'3 to 5'5). That's pretty much how I picture them in any fic I write.

She woke again, for the third time.

Perhaps it was the fourth. Hermione wasn't sure. She went in and out of consciousness, falling asleep to the smell of rot and waking up to the pungence of her blood. Soiling herself, bleeding through her nylons, and breathing.

That was all she had that was tangible.

Was Ron sad that they'd broken up? She hoped he hadn't been too sad. The thought that his last memory with her would be of an awkward Christmas made her feel physically ill. Ron was her best friend, aside from Harry, and the last thing she wanted to do was hurt him. He'd taken the break-up so well, but she knew he was a soft-hearted fellow.

She hadn't even cried for him.

Merlin, she was a horrible person. She'd left her wizard because she had an infatuation with someone who had just stood there and watched her be cursed during the war. She wasn't entirely happy with Ron, but she hated the fact that she'd hurt him.

Now that she was dying, she wondered if maybe she hadn't made a mistake.

Her teeth chattered. Her fingers hurt from more than just broken bones. The cold warred with her magical core, and it had been warring with it for hours.

Her core was losing.
