I think Garak would have some nice earbuds and headphones to just relax with and do work. Calms down his anxiety and panics. Julian got him his favorite and first pair and they can be noise cancelling. Julian has a pair or so too, because he can get overwhelmed by all the noise. Also super futuristic part is that they can sync up to the same device and listening to music or audio books together.

ghoap x nanny! reader / 18+ / previous ft. surveillance. handjobs. voyeurism. mild s/m. dirty talk.
They check up on you when they can.
Price wasn't exaggerating when he doled out the mission details. It's a tough one. Grueling. The type that necessitates four flights a week and days of little to no sleep, the men fuelled on nothing but a snow-balling urgency to get it done. The target is a slippery fuck, with connections that transport him across the globe at the first sign of conflict. They come close to apprehending him only once, and nothing comes of it but the exacerbated threat of nuclear war as the bastard starts to squeak like a cornered mouse. Gaz has a near constant migraine. Soap stops being fun around the two week mark, exhaustion slowing his tongue. Ghost grows more unhinged with his kills, punching blades through the throats of anyone who dares get in their way.
But still, they check on you.
Isla occupies a quarter of their headspace at all times; half when they don't have to dedicate their focus to the operation. It's the longest they've ever spent away from their girl, the withdrawals hitting them like a bag of bricks. They do whatever's necessary, then, to tune into the nanny cams they have set up around the house, lest Johnny cries about the way her hands dimple when she uncurls a fist again. Or worse – before Simon forgets what tethers him to humanity.
They find the two of you are always doing something.
Which isn't a surprise. You had mentioned your background in early childhood education; they just thought that it'd been a device to impress them. But it's clear that you're eager to put your degree to use when they see you setting up yet another enrichment activity for their daughter and encouraging her to engage.
The first time, they had just arrived on base. It'd been five hours since they've seen you last and already, Johnny had pulled his phone to log onto the monitoring app he had installed.
Sure enough, you were in the same overalls they saw you in last, Isla changed into a fresh pair of pyjamas after her bath. You had her set on her play mat, but replaced the dangling toys for newer, more colourful ones. As she reached for them, you would sound out the shade in a high-pitched voice and grin excitedly when she'd babble back, as if aaaah! meant green.
He felt his heart tug something fierce, caught between endearment and unease at missing out, before getting dressed for debrief.
The third time, you let them know you could tell when the nanny cam is in active use. Not accusatorially, of course – it unfolded in a way too innocent to be anything but a whammy on their part.
They were in a humvee on exfil after being ambushed by the local army – soldiers with blood money lining their pockets, tasked with dispatching the bloodhounds that keep sniffing their patron's trail. Simon had watched a little boy get caught in the crossfire and decided it was imperative to check if Isla was okay, despite her being hundreds of miles away and off anyone's radar.
You're the first thing he saw, carrying the weight of a huge plastic storage container filled with water. In it, there were several rubber animals that inspired a fit of squeals somewhere off screen. You had laughed, a little out of breath, and he remembers the relief that flooded his chest at the dual sounds. Like the cold lick of waves across scorching sand.
As you'd passed by the camera, you stopped and crouched so your face would be in view.
"Isla likes splashing around in the water. I'm thinking of getting her a paddling pool." And you lifted the container as if you would ever need to justify the way you take of their daughter. "Hope you guys are well."
Johnny murmured from beside him. "Forgot aboot th' status light."
The seventh– ninth– maybe twelfth time (having lost count), it was just in time to catch you on your way out with Isla in tow.
They'd tuckered down in a shitty motel, awaiting the next word from Laswell, all four of them in one room. Gaz had been given the bed as consolation for the torn tendon in his knee, and Price had claimed the couch with nothing more than a growl about his back needing it. Thus, Ghost and Soap found themselves on the floor, the latter man tucked under his partner's arm, the other occupied with checking in on the porch feed. The time difference made it so that it was midday where you were.
You were dressed – and Simon recalls it as clearly as the day you met – in a green wrap skirt and tulip hat, their darling girl in a shade of pink that complimented its petals, sat on your hip as you struggled with her buggy. They forgot to give you the run down on unfolding it before they left, too overwhelmed with everything else to pay mind to the little things.
Johnny had jumped for the two-way talk function immediately, tapping on the little mic before clearing his throat.
"There's a latch under th' left arm. Flip it 'n' it shuid unfold automatically."
You jumped, pausing to face the porch cam with wide eyes. "Oh– Oh my god. Haha," Following his directions, you were able to get it open with little fuss. "that is so embarrassing. Pretend you never saw that."
Simon had his balaclava on, uncomfortable with going bare-faced in an unfamiliar room, but Johnny still felt the soft smile splitting his cheeks. Its warmth was unmistakable.
"Nonsense, lass. 'twas cute."
You bloomed at that, wiggling a little in place. Though the flustered moment hadn't lasted long, for Isla's mouth fell open at the recognition of her father's voice, chubby hand reaching out in its direction.
"Bldha! Pffffpp."
"That's right, baby! That's Da." You waddled closer to have her inspect the strange contraption hooked above their mailbox, turning your attention back to them. "We're going on a narration walk! Isla's gotten so good at recognising animals because of them. But it was so nice to hear from you. Isn't that right, sweetheart?"
"Gah!"
Simon locked the phone when neither of them could muster a response, emotion rushing their throats like white-river rapids. Hot tears seep into his side, a pair of misty eyes buried in his ribs.
"I know. I know, Johnny. S'alright. We'll see 'er again soon."
Now, he's made good on his promise.
All three rogue missiles located and dismantled in record time, meaning their slimy target could no longer use them as a shield. He'd been in shackles within the next day, wrangled somewhere in Istanbul and shipped off to a maximum security prison in The Hague. The task force left no loose thread untugged, which took an extra day but will be worth it in the long run. Price promises to reward them with a round, on him.
They're on their way back to base when Johnny tunes in a final time.
He's sure that Isla is asleep by now, confirmed by the baby monitor that focuses on the sprawled form in her cot. It would be best to exit the app and doze off like the other men – lord knows he needs it – but he can't help the itch to look for you too. To click through every channel, his curiosity unquenched, until–
Ah. There.
On the couch, bare legs stretched out along its length. A throw blanket tangled between them, one bent at the knee to support the book you're currently fingering through. The sight alone is enough to make him salivate.
But then he notices the thin material of your top.
Practically translucent. No doubt made for bed. You aren't wearing a bra, either, and the darker shade of your nipples practically flaunts itself through the fabric. They're too soft to protrude and cast a shadow on your breasts, but he's still able to get a good impression of what you would look like nude. Some part of him wilts with guilt at the shameless voyeurism he's subjecting you to.
Another part sends blood to the weight between his legs.
"Bleedin' Christ."
"Hm?" Simon grunts, disturbed by the restless pace of Johnny's heart. His head lifts off his shoulder, blinking warily to clear the silky gossamer of sleep threading his eyelids, before focusing on the grainy footage on his partner's screen.
"Ghost." He whines, hips bucking in desperation when the larger man does nothing. They haven't had the chance to relieve themselves since that night at the motel, and even then it had been a messy frotting as they tried not to disturb their sleeping comrades.
"A'right. Off to the bathroom with you, then."
He doesn't turn off of the live feed even as they cram into the compact space. Though he should. He needs to. Not because you're aware of their surveillance – you're far too engrossed in your book to pay mind to the blinking red light on the nanny cam. But because only depraved men gets off to unsuspecting hens, especially the ones they hired in good faith to take care of their child while they're away.
It's a dirty, dirty thrill that roars through him as Simon wraps an arm around his waist, palming his hard-on through his trousers. And it's a dirty thrill he wants no part of.
"Practically leakin' in your pants, boy. First time you see a pair of tits?" In the small mirror before him, he watches his pants get pulled down past his ass, underwear stained a deeper swatch of blue where his tip spits prespend.
It might as well be the first time, way he's humping Simon's hand like an over-eager mutt. Though he can't manage to choke it out through the rough groans pressing his vocal chords. Instead, what escapes him is a pathetic mess of trembling letters. "S'not... fookin, not– not–"
"Shhh, it's okay. She's jus' so pretty, yeah? Can't help but chub up and beg me to rub your aching cock, wishing it was her darlin' hand wrapped 'round you instead. I know."
"Nn, nae, Sim- Si– I wouid never... Ah!"
It's dry. A little raw. He makes no effort to lube his calloused palm to help it glide easier along Johnny's length, but he knows his boy better than he knows himself sometimes. That he needs pain when he's doing something bad like this, or else he'll lose himself to the guilt. A little bit of penance for the Catholic.
"Don' lie to me. Y'can't. But tha's alright," He pulls the foreskin off the head of his uncut mass, kneading a bit into his frenulum to watch the way white oozes against red. "I think about it too."
"A-Aye?"
"Hm. Think 'bout ya swallowing my cock while I sit 'er on my face. Bet she tastes sweet, like nectar. Jus' look at the thing." Which he does. You're seated a bit differently than you had been before. Less liberal. Wound up tight, with your nose buried in your book and your toes curled beneath your feet. Surely captured by some tense plot line or the other. "Would make you clean her cunt after I pump 'er full. Or vice versa, if she's into tha'."
"Yer a-aff yer heid... Fuck, I cannae–"
"That's it, Johnny. Let go, boy." Simon's strokes keep at the top, tugging in short, rough movements over the phone. The blanket now covers you fully, but it's no matter. The image of your breasts are now seared into both their minds, an array of fantasies unfurling before them, each nastier than the last. "Jus' like that."
Thick ropes of cum streak over the screen and sink countertop. It's weeks worth of pent up frustration, a culmination of despair and desire as a stuttered moan claws up Johnny's throat. The hand leaves his cock only when he starts shooting blanks, clenching tight at the overstimulation.
Simon makes him lick the mess off his palm.
(And unbeknownst to them, they'd hit the mic on their way to the bathroom.
You'd heard the whole thing.)

So I'm well aware this is probably a case of "it isn't that deep" but I love looking at all the fiddly little accessories and bits and bobs of Hoyo designs and trying to justify them. Sampo's is particularly funny, because. What even is all that dkkxjdkd
His outfit has so many straps wrapped around him, like they're restraining or holding something in to keep it from bursting at the seams, and not all of them look like they're even connected to anything! But I'd like to think they are useful in certain situations, like if Sampo takes a hit out in the Fragmentum from one of the monsters.
He's hurt, his arm is bleeding, but he is ALMOST done, he just needs a couple more things to fulfill his quota to Natasha and he doesn't want to turn around and go back now. So Sampo frees a strap from his shirt, winds it around his arm above the cut, pulls it tight with his free hand and his teeth. He'll treat it properly in a minute, once he's done scavenging.
There's also the strange chains that resemble snake spines. Given how they're way longer in his splash art and the way they wind around-
Tumblr media
I'd like to think they can extend somehow, and Sampo can use them to scale heights. Firefly clocks him as a covert fighter without even being within 20 feet of him, so it would make sense for Sampo to have ways to get around that don't involve usual/obvious methods, like stairs. Think assassin skill sets.
He's also the only one known to be able to get between the Underground and the overworld, and while he's pretty tight-lipped about his method, having some sort of device to help traverse vertical heights is probably insanely helpful there.
And the little metal ornaments across the backs of his wrists! You can see it a bit better in his reference sheet (everyone say thanks @/dragaliareferencearchive!) as opposed to his splash art-
Tumblr media
they aren't flat, they stick up a bit off his arms. And so I wonder if Gepard has ever gone to arrest Sampo, and found that they interfere with his handcuffs haha
The ornaments don't match, the one on his right wrist is actually shorter and doesn't extend down to the back of his hand. Which probably doesn't make it nearly as annoying for handcuffs as the left one, but it would make sense for Sampo to have them like that, since he seems to be right-handed! I think a certain proficiency in being ambidextrous is necessary to dual wield daggers like he does, but. Sampo uses his right hand to
hold his blade in his splash art
throw his blade in his skill
play/show off with his dagger in his idle
lob smoke bombs in his technique
cross over his heart when he bows
and to flip his bangs during the cutscene where he saves the trailblazers from Bronya
So a shorter guard on his right hand would help him keep his wrist's flexibility to be able to do all that unimpeded (loving the thought now that Sampo is naturally right-handed and still better with it, but he practiced constantly with his left until he could do things passably ambidextrous).
I also love them because I wonder if they're in the perfect place to help block a hit, along with the chain wrapped around his left forearm.
Like I love the image of a hired killer soundlessly sneaking up behind Sampo in some shady dark alley, knife sloooooowly raising, and then all at once, they strike!
And instead of feeling the blade sink into his back, they get the unpleasant resonating of metal-on-metal shivering up their arm and rattling their bones, because Sampo has turned around at the last second and raised his crossed his arms to let the knife glance off the guards on his wrists.
And the mercenary is left to realize that oh, they are fucked.

Lockwood & Co AU where Lockwood's parents are just Evie and Rick O'Connell from The Mummy
Lockwood inexplicably knows a lot of extremely specific things about Ancient Egypt and he never elaborates and it infuriates George to no end
Lockwood: Well, it can't be a real canopic jar. The jackal protects the stomach, not the liver. George, who has never seen Lockwood read anything other than trashy tabloids and pulp detective novels: How could you possibly know that???
They discover while fighting off relicmen that Lockwood is insanely capable with guns and he flat out refuses to acknowledge any line of questioning about it, but it does explain the crate of old shotguns in the basement
He also apparently knows how to build, operate, and diffuse a range of explosive devices, which they discover during the Siege of Portland Row
Clearly, he has a talent for leaving buildings in partial to complete ruin everywhere he goes
He viciously despises the British Museum, a fact they discover after getting hired to clear out a particularly nasty poltergeist from one of their exhibit halls and Lockwood turns them down flat
On top of ghost relics, Portland Row is also home to various Ancient Egyptian decor--small statues, modern recreations of khopeshes, photographs of temple interiors. Some of the artifacts are the real thing and he does not see the hypocrisy in this
Along with the iron line outside, the lintel of the front door has the Eye of Horus carved into it as an additional protective measure
During rare nights off, the gang sometimes plays board games together and Lockwood is visibly surprised that no one else knows how to play Senet
He speaks Arabic and, if given enough time and motivation, can translate hieroglyphics
Sometimes when they're stumped in a particularly dangerous case, Lockwood will call on a 'family friend' who happens to have the relevant connections or expertise
Ardeth visits on Christmas every year without fail or warning. Everyone is in utter shock the first time except Lockwood, who is royally embarrassed by all the baby stories his godfather keeps telling people. Ardeth is just happy to know that Lockwood has formed his own family
The uncle he stayed with in the country was Jonathan
He has dual citizenship in the United States and, when Kipps learns this, he teases him mercilessly about it

An amazing article by Rascal News on how to evolve TTRPGs beyond wargaming.
While I have some disagreements with points in this article, a vast majority is something I've been exploring in my mind as a result of liberation work: how can our inner views of a future reflect in our games? I'll have some thoughts below. Buckle up; it's messy, long, and full of contradictions. Sounds like my life in college.
TW // discussions of violence, firearms, and global conflict
I think GRIM's world focuses on anti-imperialism, and even the organizations in the handbook are all flawed in some way or are even connected with the very empire you're fighting, kinda in a meta-way (empire vs. empire, but it was actually the same empire all the time??). The exploration of the world and uncovering the secrets through fighting hordes of corrupted former enemies of the empire OR salivating allies presents a sort of narrative that imperialism taints all, and even the weapons you use are brutal tools of violence and carnage in a world where speaking is no substitute for action in many cases. It's a sad world, but a world many live today.
One contentious thing I have as well is firearms in general in my games. I am fully opposed to these metal brutes that serve only to kill, but I also recognize their liberation capabilities. I also find them fascinating, similar to how someone may view medieval torture devices fascinating. Our hubris as a species is tied to the Gun, and it's interesting to see what incredible lengths we will go to in order to enact violence.
It's a mess, and a really nuanced conversation. I think here's my thesis for violence and militarization in my games.
1. Violence should always be lethal. There should always be a cost to violence in some way, whether in the world or through damage of some kind. That kind of dynamic plays well into the cost that real violence can bring. Killing can breed horrible cycles of violence that last thousands of years. It's no joke.
2. Weapons must be a by-product of a world corrupted by them. In Neon Nights, MOURN, GRIM, and other games, the world has made guns the way of the world, and are the most efficient tools for harm, which anyone will wield if the need raises. However, violence and weapons without cause just for the sake of violence is not the mission. I won't deny that dual wielding miniguns to take out enemies in GRIM isn't something I don't find cool, but I think that's something I may need to work on. Is it cool to celebrate elimination of enemies using tools of destruction? Is the focus on the liberation of the tyranny of violence being acted upon US, or are WE the violence enacting upon OTHERS? It's more of a narrative conflict, I would say, but if the tools are supplied, then outcomes unexpected may arise.
The answer is so complex. Is there an answer? Should we make dames AFTER the apocalypse, DURING, or BEFORE? Should there even BE an apocalypse denoting violence? I can't pretend I have all the answers.
One thing I can tell you is that my games, as time goes on, will focus much more heavily in themes I find important toward revolutionary practices, both peaceful and defensive. Never will violence and carnage against oppressed people or those that have done no harm to you ever be encouraged.
Thanks for coming to my talk. This is why I LOVE this article; lots to explore.
Also, snag my games in a bundle for $25. You're helping a trans person escape the death spiral of capitalism. Cheers.

In this shot from "Janet Planet," the three-way mirror symbolizes the complex relationship between the mother, played by Julianne Nicholson, and her daughter, Laci, played by Zoe Ziegler. The multiple reflections show different perspectives and emotions, emphasizing the complexity and tension in their bond. The mother's face, seen in two separate reflections, suggests her dual nature—nurturing yet burdened by responsibility. Her expressions of weariness and contemplation reflect her internal struggle and the challenges of single motherhood.
The daughter, appearing in a single reflection, represents her simpler, more straightforward perspective on their relationship. The use of the mirror also highlights themes of identity and perception, as both characters see themselves and each other through a distorted lens. This visual device of the three-way mirror contributes greatly to the storytelling by visually representing the emotional distances and connections between them.

Constructed from durable nano plastics and ceramics, the chastity cage provides a discreet and comfortable fit. The dual-chamber design, featuring separate compartments for the penis and testicles, ensures security and protection while offering a natural feel against the skin.
Whether worn as part of the complete armor suit or independently, the chastity cage remains an integral component, aligning with the established protocols and regulations governing the paramedics' conduct and attire
The uniformity enforced by the chastity cage contributes to the overall professionalism of the paramedics. It aligns with the standards set by the Corps, fostering a sense of discipline and uniformity among the tactical medical team.
The dual-chamber design ensures that the genitals are securely enclosed, reducing the risk of contamination or injury in the field.
By eliminating concerns related to personal needs, the paramedics can maintain a focused and concentrated mindset during critical situations. The chastity cage's design allows for seamless waste evacuation without compromising operational efficiency.

Do You Really Need a VPN? Find Out!
Introduction
Tumblr media
In today’s digital world, our online privacy is constantly under threat. Have you ever wondered how secure your personal data is when you're browsing the web or accessing public Wi-Fi? With increasing concerns about data breaches and surveillance, many people are turning to Virtual Private Networks (VPNs) to shield their online activities. But with so many options available, it can be overwhelming to figure out whether a VPN is truly necessary for you or if it’s just another tech trend.
This article aims to demystify VPNs by providing a clear and concise overview of what they are and why they have become a hot topic in the realm of internet security. We'll delve into the core functions of VPNs, explore their benefits and potential drawbacks, and help you assess if a VPN aligns with your personal online needs. By the end of this guide, you'll have a better understanding of whether a VPN is an essential tool for you or if other solutions might be more suitable for safeguarding your online presence.
What is a VPN?
A Virtual Private Network (VPN) is a tool designed to enhance your online privacy and security. At its core, a VPN creates a secure, encrypted connection between your device and the internet. This connection acts like a private tunnel that shields your online activities from prying eyes, making it harder for anyone, including hackers and internet service providers, to monitor what you're doing online. Think of a VPN as a protective cloak that conceals your digital footprint and allows you to browse the internet with a greater sense of security.
The functionality of a VPN involves routing your internet traffic through a remote server, which masks your IP address and encrypts your data. This process not only hides your true location but also ensures that any data you send or receive is encrypted, making it nearly impossible for unauthorized parties to access. By connecting to servers in various locations, a VPN also allows you to bypass geographical restrictions and access content that might otherwise be blocked in your region. This dual-layer protection—hiding your IP address and encrypting your data—creates a more secure and private browsing experience.
Understanding "What is a VPN?" is crucial for anyone concerned about online privacy. In an era where personal data is a valuable commodity and cyber threats are prevalent, having a VPN can be a significant asset. It offers peace of mind by safeguarding your information and providing a shield against potential threats. As we explore further in this article, you'll learn more about when a VPN is most beneficial and if it’s the right choice for your personal online security needs.
Explore the Benefits of ZoogVPN Today! If you're considering enhancing your online privacy and security, why not start with ZoogVPN? With incredible pricing and a range of features designed to keep you safe online, ZoogVPN is a great choice. Learn more about ZoogVPN and find the perfect plan for you.
Should I Accept VPN?
When considering whether to accept or adopt a VPN, it’s important to weigh its numerous benefits. One of the primary advantages of using a VPN is enhanced privacy. By masking your IP address and encrypting your internet traffic, a VPN shields your online activities from prying eyes such as hackers, advertisers, and even your internet service provider. This level of privacy ensures that your personal data remains confidential, making it significantly more challenging for third parties to track your browsing habits. Additionally, a VPN provides access to restricted or geo-blocked content, allowing you to enjoy streaming services, websites, and information that may be limited based on your location.
A VPN can be particularly relevant in various scenarios. For instance, if you frequently use public Wi-Fi networks, such as those in cafes or airports, a VPN offers an added layer of security against potential cyber threats. Public networks are often vulnerable to attacks, and a VPN helps protect your sensitive information from being intercepted. Similarly, if you travel often and want to access your home country’s streaming services or websites that are otherwise inaccessible abroad, a VPN can easily bypass these regional restrictions and provide you with the content you desire.
Considering the question "Should I accept VPN?" also involves evaluating your personal and professional needs. If you’re concerned about online privacy or frequently work with sensitive information, using a VPN can significantly enhance your digital security. It can also be beneficial if you live in a region with restrictive internet policies and want to freely access global content. On the other hand, if your online activities are relatively routine and you rarely access sensitive data, you may not find a VPN as crucial, although it still provides added security.
Ultimately, deciding whether to accept a VPN depends on your specific needs and concerns. The key is to assess how often you encounter situations where privacy and security are paramount. If these concerns resonate with your online habits, integrating a VPN into your routine can be a proactive step towards safeguarding your digital life and expanding your internet freedom.
When Should You Not Use a VPN?
Tumblr media
While VPNs offer numerous benefits, there are certain situations where using one might not be ideal or necessary. For example, if you're accessing websites or services that don’t handle sensitive information or are already secure, the added layer of encryption provided by a VPN might be redundant. Additionally, if you're in a low-risk environment, such as a private and secure home network, the need for a VPN diminishes. Similarly, some websites and online services are designed to detect and block VPN traffic, which can result in difficulties accessing the content you need.
Another important consideration is the impact a VPN can have on your internet speed and performance. Because VPNs reroute your internet traffic through an external server, this can introduce latency and reduce connection speeds. This slowdown can be noticeable when streaming high-definition content or engaging in online gaming, where speed and responsiveness are crucial. If you’re performing activities that demand high-speed connections or if you have a limited bandwidth allocation, the performance drop caused by a VPN might outweigh its benefits.
Deciding when not to use a VPN also involves evaluating your specific use cases. For instance, if you’re using the internet for casual browsing or non-sensitive activities, the added security of a VPN might not be worth the potential decrease in speed. Moreover, for certain applications and services that function best with a direct connection, using a VPN could interfere with their optimal performance. It’s essential to weigh the trade-offs and determine whether the privacy and security benefits of a VPN align with your current needs and online behavior.
What is the Downside of a VPN?
While VPNs are often praised for enhancing online privacy and security, they are not without their downsides. One major concern is the privacy of the VPN provider itself. Although VPNs are designed to shield your data from external parties, some providers may log user activity or metadata, potentially compromising the very privacy they aim to protect. It’s crucial to research and choose a VPN service with a strict no-logs policy and transparent privacy practices to ensure that your data remains confidential.
Another consideration is the cost associated with subscribing to a VPN service. While free VPNs are available, they often come with limitations such as reduced speeds, fewer server options, and potential privacy issues. Paid VPN services, which generally offer better performance and security features, can range from relatively affordable to quite expensive. This ongoing expense might not be justifiable for everyone, especially if the benefits of a VPN do not align with their online activities and security needs.
Compatibility issues can also pose a challenge when using a VPN. Some websites and online services actively block VPN traffic to prevent bypassing geographical restrictions or fraud detection. This can result in difficulties accessing certain content or services while connected to a VPN. Additionally, certain applications and websites may not function properly with VPNs enabled, leading to disruptions in your online experience. It’s important to consider these potential drawbacks when evaluating whether a VPN is the right choice for your needs.
Does a VPN Affect Wi-Fi?
When you connect to a VPN, it’s common to experience changes in your Wi-Fi speed. A VPN routes your internet traffic through a secure server, which can introduce additional layers of encryption and data handling. This process, while enhancing security, can slow down your internet connection. The extent of this speed reduction depends on several factors, including the VPN server’s location, the encryption protocol used, and the overall quality of the VPN service. High-quality VPNs often minimize speed loss, but users should be prepared for potential decreases in browsing speed.
Network issues are another consideration when using a VPN over Wi-Fi. VPN connections can sometimes lead to unstable network performance, causing intermittent drops or slower connectivity. This can be especially noticeable on wireless networks with lower signal strength or higher congestion. Additionally, because VPNs create an encrypted tunnel for data, they may interfere with certain network protocols or configurations, potentially leading to connectivity problems or difficulty accessing specific online services.
In some cases, the interaction between a VPN and Wi-Fi networks can lead to unexpected complications. For instance, VPNs might struggle with certain types of network hardware or software, which can cause compatibility issues or connectivity errors. Additionally, some Wi-Fi networks, particularly in public or restricted environments, may block VPN traffic, further complicating your internet access. Users should consider these potential problems and test their VPN connection on various networks to ensure consistent performance.
Overall, while a VPN can impact Wi-Fi speed and connectivity, the degree of effect largely depends on the quality of the VPN service and the specific network conditions. For users who prioritize online privacy and security, the trade-off in speed and potential network issues might be worthwhile. However, it’s important to choose a reputable VPN provider and understand how it might interact with your Wi-Fi setup to minimize any negative impacts.
Is a VPN Needed for Home Wi-Fi?
When considering home Wi-Fi security, many people wonder if a VPN is necessary. A VPN can certainly add an extra layer of protection by encrypting your internet traffic and masking your IP address, which is beneficial for safeguarding sensitive information from potential threats. However, for most home networks, basic security measures such as strong passwords, WPA3 encryption, and regular firmware updates on your router are often sufficient to protect against common threats. While a VPN enhances security, its benefits might be more pronounced for those who frequently use public Wi-Fi or access sensitive information remotely.
Beyond using a VPN, there are several effective ways to secure your home Wi-Fi network. Implementing robust security protocols like WPA3 can prevent unauthorized access and ensure that your network is shielded from potential intruders. Additionally, regularly updating your router’s firmware and setting up a guest network for visitors can further bolster your home network's security. For many users, these measures, combined with cautious online behavior, can provide adequate protection without the need for a VPN.

Is There Anything Better Than a VPN?
When it comes to online privacy and security, VPNs are often touted as the go-to solution, but they’re not the only tools available. Alternatives like proxy servers, secure browsers, and end-to-end encryption can also offer significant protection for your digital activities. Proxy servers, for instance, act as intermediaries between your device and the internet, masking your IP address but typically without the same level of encryption as a VPN. Secure browsers like Tor are designed to enhance privacy by routing your internet traffic through multiple servers, though they can sometimes slow down your browsing experience. End-to-end encryption ensures that your communications are only readable by the intended recipients, making it ideal for secure messaging and email.
Comparing these alternatives to VPNs reveals distinct differences in effectiveness and use cases. VPNs provide robust encryption, which secures all of your internet traffic and is effective across various devices and platforms. In contrast, proxy servers offer less security but can be useful for bypassing geo-restrictions. Secure browsers like Tor offer enhanced anonymity but may suffer from slower speeds and limited usability. End-to-end encryption is crucial for protecting specific types of communication, but it does not encrypt all internet traffic like a VPN does. Each tool has its strengths and limitations, so the best choice depends on your specific privacy and security needs.
While VPNs offer comprehensive protection, evaluating these alternatives can help you find a solution that best fits your requirements. For users who need robust, all-encompassing privacy, a VPN might be the preferred choice. However, if you’re looking for targeted protection or want to supplement your existing security measures, integrating secure browsers, proxies, or end-to-end encryption into your digital routine can be effective. Each tool can complement a VPN or serve as an alternative based on what aspects of privacy and security are most important to you.
Ultimately, the choice between a VPN and other privacy tools depends on the level of security and anonymity you seek. For comprehensive protection and convenience, a VPN is often a strong choice. However, exploring other options like proxy servers, secure browsers, and end-to-end encryption can provide additional layers of security and privacy, catering to various needs and preferences.
Do We Really Need a VPN?
In the ongoing debate about online privacy and security, the necessity of a VPN often boils down to a balance of pros and cons. On the plus side, VPNs offer substantial advantages such as enhanced privacy by masking your IP address, secure data encryption to protect sensitive information, and the ability to access geo-restricted content. These features make VPNs a valuable tool for anyone concerned about their digital footprint or wanting to bypass regional restrictions. However, VPNs also come with potential drawbacks, including the cost of subscription services, possible slowdowns in internet speed, and occasional compatibility issues with certain websites or services. Understanding these benefits and limitations is crucial in evaluating whether a VPN aligns with your needs.
Deciding whether to invest in a VPN requires a personal assessment of your internet habits and security requirements. For users who frequently handle sensitive information, access region-locked content, or simply wish to enhance their online privacy, a VPN can be an essential tool. On the other hand, if you only use the internet for basic browsing and are not concerned about privacy or geographic restrictions, the necessity of a VPN may be less compelling. It's important to weigh your specific needs and how a VPN would fit into your overall digital security strategy.
Ultimately, the question of whether we really need a VPN is a highly individual one. Consider your internet usage patterns, your level of concern about privacy, and your willingness to invest in additional security measures. By carefully evaluating these factors, you can make an informed decision about whether a VPN is a worthwhile addition to your online toolkit. Whether you opt for a VPN or choose other methods to safeguard your digital life, the key is to ensure that your choices align with your personal privacy and security goals.
Conclusion
Tumblr media
As we’ve explored, the decision to use a VPN hinges on weighing its benefits against its potential drawbacks. VPNs provide valuable features such as enhanced privacy, secure browsing, and access to geo-restricted content. However, they also present challenges, including potential impacts on internet speed and the financial cost of subscription services. Ultimately, the effectiveness of a VPN depends on your individual online habits and security needs. Understanding these aspects will help you make an informed choice about whether a VPN is right for you.
It’s essential to take stock of your own online activities and security concerns when evaluating whether to use a VPN. Consider how often you handle sensitive information, if you frequently access content restricted by geography, and whether you are willing to pay for a subscription. By aligning your personal needs with the features offered by VPNs, you can determine whether this tool will enhance your online experience or if other solutions might be more appropriate.

Space Marine Chapter: Grey Wolves
Tumblr media
Description: The Gray Wolves Chapter hails from the Ark Ship "Storm of Fenrisa" and born from the Space Wolf Legion. Entrusted by the Imperium to kill off high ranking Xenos and Chaos Daemons in hopes of destabilizing their armies as fast as possible. They are then to help hunt down the survivors of the scattered and leaderless enemies and kill them off. The Grey Wolves pride themselves in striking the main target quickly, efficiently, and with enough flair to tell a great story later. they always enjoy talking about their exploits but only to one another, the Grey Wolves know better than to brag about their strengths and talk about their weaknesses to other Space Marines or anyone in the Imperium for that matter.
Tend to treat other members of the Imperium even other Space Marines Chapters form the Space Wolf Legion like strangers. However, treat one another as absolute family that are willing to ride with one another, fight alongside one another, and even sacrifice themselves for each other. Even the Troopers and Naval staff on their Ark Ship is considered family and no Grey Wolf will let a single crew member die or go on a day without a shared laugh. Like most Chapters created from the Space Wolves, they created their very own mead for their Chapter to personally enjoy.
Unique Trait: Grey Wolves are good at intimidating Xeno Beasts especially those bigger than themselves. They can also activate an ability called "Alpha Cry" that causes all beasts around them to bow in submission. This ability even works of Orcs and Goblins though not on Tyranids, it only makes them mad. Regardless, with this ability they can lead an army of beasts into battle to allow them to conquer any enemy with sheer numbers alone, not that a Grey Wolf would need such a tactic given their great power and their Artificial companion.
Arsenal:
Dual Hot Blades - Two Katana like blades made with sharpened Scorching Steel allowing the Grey Wolves with their amazing blade skills to burn and cut through any enemy. Nothing is strong, durable, or even fast enough to escape the wrath of a Grey Wolf so long as they are armed with these blades.
Bolter Rifle - Modified version of the original Bolter Gun made to be able to hold 50 canisters of God Blood with a total of 1,000 bolt shots that can easily make up for its lack of power and ammunition modes. Normally only possesses Incendiary, Cryo, Explosive, Electric, and Armor Piercing frequencies. For the Grey Wolves they also possess the Tracking frequency to ensure no enemy they shoot and survives manages to escape them.
Dual Electro Accelerate Pistols - Small handheld guns that are magnetically charged ensuring the pellets shoot at speeds of Mach 5. The gun holds six canisters each holding 10 magnetic pellets for a total of 60 shots each. Not really enough to dent a Tyranid's shell, leave a lasting mark on Necron armor, or even kill an Orc. But a well-aimed shot can certainly do some damage and lead to an amazing story for the Grey Wolves later.
Artificial Wolf Mount - an Artificial created by the Institue and given to the Grey Wolves to be both a mount and a companion. Made Flesh Steel that is strong enough to resist a Tyranids talons yet is able to move like skin when connected to an artificial nervous system. Given life through two brains one of a Xeno slave and another of a Xeno beast. Both brains are used as processors to allow the Artificial to act as if a real living and breathing wolf and use its mechanisms with precision. Listening devices within the ears allow them to hear even distance sounds the Grey Wolf probably can't. The nose is designed with the most advanced sent identifying technology allowing it to track smells even better than a real wolf could. Is given claws and fangs made form the same Condensed Ceramite as the Space Marine armor ensuring it can scratch and bite even through a Necron exoskeleton. It also possesses a tongue that can scan the biomass and blood of whatever it licks and send the data to Helmet Visor of the Grey Wolf. The perfect mount, bodyguard, and companion of a Grey Wolf.
Deity of Worship: Created form the Space Wolf Legion and thus naturally worships Leman of Freedom and Loyalty. They like to uphold his traditions of having parties after victories and celebrating life but also remembering to be loyal to the Imperium and each other. However shockingly they worship Jaghatai of Adrenaline and Secrecy as well, thinking that he is responsible for their quick and efficient kills.
Recruitment: When more Grey Wolves are needed the "Storm of Fenrisa" will go to a world that either has a church of Leman or Jaghatai. They will have the orphanages owned by the church's collect the orphans and have them sent to the Ark Ship. The newly recruited Applicants will fight one another with practice swords while both the Grey Wolves and the Artificial Wolves watch. They children are to continue fighting for certain periods of time every day until one of the Artificial Wolves starts howling. Afterwards all training will stop and the Applicants will be lined up and presented in front of the Artificial Wolf.
These Artificial Wolves will either be the companions of previous Grey Wolves who have died or newly created ones to replace those that were destroyed along with their masters. They will observe the applicants and review them to see if they have the strength and biology needed to become a Grey Wolf based on all data revolving the chapter. This process tends to be faster with newly made Artificial Wolves as those who had previous masters tends to pick out applicants who had similar traits to their predecessors. If the Artificial Wolf starts cooing and gently rubbing its head on the applicant, they will be selected as a Grey Wolf.
There is a chance that applicants will go on training and thus never be selected. However, this does not mean they will be kicked out as even if they reach adulthood and are never chosen are still offered a place on the Storm of Fenrisa. Weather this be a janitor, navy staff, or even a Trooper Guard. So long as they can handle their alcohol they will never be considered an outcast within the Ark Ship.
Applicants to become Grey Wolves will be escorted to the center of the Ark Ship where they will be placed in the Rebirth Pods. Once they are a Grey Wolf, they will be welcomed by the rest of the ship crew through a party where they will be expected to drink the specialized mead drank only by the Grey Wolves. Those that can handle a whole jug of the mead will be called "Brothers and Sisters". Those that take time to adjust to the mead will be called "Cousins". This isn't meant to be a full-on insult merely a playful nickname though to new recruits it can be quite annoying.
Cation Regarding Chaos:
Khorne of Sacrifice and War - Low Risk, yes, Grey Wolves love to kill for the thrill of it, but they are more tempted to have a good party and a good story rather than to spill blood forever. There will be the occasionally fall but through the millennium the Gray Wolves have found more and more ways to prevent this through comradery and family.
Tzeentch of Corrupting Knowledge and Magic - Immune, Grey Wolves live simple, and joy filled lives, they have no need to ask for more.
Nurgle of Disease and Decay - Low Risk, Grey Wolves do often live in the moment and thus can become stagnant or wish things remain the way they are forever. Nurgle can grant this for a price though most know better than to take on such an offer.
Slaanesh of Pleasure and Pain - Medium Risk, Grey Wolves life freely and chaotically, those that want to know something with a little more excitement, Slaanesh can be quite persuasive.
Malice of Anarchy and Vengeance - Immune, They Gray Wolves already live lives of freedom that no anarchy Malice can provide will satisfy them. Furthermore, a Grey Wolve who dies knows they will be avenged and those that are alive will keep the memory of their fallen brothers and sisters forever.
