Aku dan Makanan (1)
Salah satu hal yang bisa mendekatkan seseorang dengan yang lainnya adalah waktu dalam kebersamaan. Dan biasanya spent waktu bersama, selalu ada makanan disana. Terkadang menyukai makanan yang sama bisa menjadi alasan kebersamaan itu ada, tentu selain karena menyukai hal yang sama. Karena duduk pada meja yang sama, dengan makanan yang bisa membuat mood bahagia tentu dapat membuat kebersamaan itu ada. Dengan begitu komunikasi dan relationship akan terbangun seolah-olah ada chemistry disana.
Hal yang tidak aku sadari, kadang lupa tentang apa yang aku masukan ke dalam mulut. Yang dingin dan manis, seperti; ice cream, cake, es kopi, buble tea yang sedang hype sekarang ini, memang merangsang pelepasan hormon dopamin dan serotonin yang membuat dengan siapapun aku meminum atau memakannya  akan terasa membahagiakan, penuh senyum, tawa dan bersemangat.
Namun aku lupa, tubuhku.
Ada asthma dan diabetes yang nampaknya diturunkan kepada darah dalam tubuhku. Tinggal di kota metropolitan ini, membuat aku larut dalam kesibukan, dan gaya hidup urban yang serba cepat. Di tuntut untuk bisa multitasking, dan bisa menyelesaikan segalanya dengan cepat. Istirahat kantor sambil berbicara di telpon, makan sambil menonton chanel youtube/netflix, pergi dengan seorang teman, tapi tangan tidak lepas dari layar handphone. Ya itu semua aku.
Membaca buku Eating Clean, sedikit menyadarkann diriku tentang perlunya menyadari jam makan yang teratur, jendela makan, dan menyadari apa yang masuk ke dalam tubuh ini. Stress, gangguan pencernaan, infeksi, jerawat, masalah kulit, masalah hormon, bisa jadi karena adanya Adrenal Fatigue. Begitu menurut Inge tumiwa dalam bukunya.
Adrenal Fatigue adalah kondisi kelenjar hormon adrenal di dalam tubuh tidak berfungsi dengan baik karena kelelahan. Kondisi ini biasanya disebabkan karena  berbagai bentuk stress yang melanda tubuh, baik berupa stress fisik, emosi, lingkungan, maupun jiwa.
Kelenjar adrenal ini membatu tubuh kita bertahan dari serangan stress. Kelenjar ini mempengaruhi beberapa proses di dalam tubuh. Mulai dari pengolahan karbohidrat menjadi lemak, pengubahan lemak dan protein menjadi energi, mengatur distribusi lemak dalam tubuh, dan membantu menjaga berat badan ideal, menjaga peredaran darah dalam tubuh, menjaga fungsi jantung, dan menjaga metabolisme pencernaan, menjaga hormon seks, membantu meminimalisir reaksi negatif alergi pada tubuh, hingga meningkatkan kemampuan tubuh melawan penyakit ataupun virus, dan banyak lagi fungsinya. Singkat kata, hormon adrenal sangat mempengaruhi kualitas hidup dan kesehatan tubuh kita.
Pada seseorang yang kelenjar hormon adrenalnya bermasalah, dari luar terlihat normal, tidak terlihat ada tanda atau gejala penyakit padanya. Namun didalam banyak siatem dan organ didalam yang bermasalah, hingga dapat mempengaruhi kondisi mental seseorang. Panik atau takut berlebihan, depresi, dan kesulitan tidur merupakan gejala umum adrenal fatigue.
Pada buku eating clean ini Inge tumiwa memaparkan, bahwa penanggulangan kondisi adrenal fatigue bukanlah obat-obatan atau operasa medis, melainkan pola hidup sehat dengan makanan bergizi, olahraga rutin, dan istirahat cukup.
