I’m trying to merge my obsessions but it’s halo and tf2 so now scout is canonically the rookie from halo odst because merasmus is angry wizard idk and after odst he goes to infinite (now a spartan) and is found in the tower n then he fights alongside chief but at the end of the infinite he confesses that he doesn’t belong in this timeline and boom he gets sent back to tf2 time line bc the mercs teamed up and beat the shit outa merasmus and forced him to bring scout back

I did LOL the very simplified version of it and it was always hot as frick outside so hiding the fool's gold in the cool water down in the sand felt nice LOOOL (until fall would hit then my hands would be FREEZING AH) If I am remembering right we also had this hella creepy display where you would look down the glass window and you would see this miner down there with a canary with him, I can't remember if it slowly moved or not XD but I kind of remember the sound of this motor sound down in the basement where we would have lunch in the room next to him LOOOL we even had a 'prospector pit' for the kiddos and I thought it was lame as hell LOOOOL, but fun for kids, they would 'dig' in these rubber bits to get 'gems' 🙃🤣🤣🤣 The geologist, at the time, would get so excited about his rock and gem collection lol (I remember having to fight off the mean Geese up there, those things were HORRIBLE) (AND DON'T GET ME STARTED ON THE CHICKENS THAT WOULD FIGHT ME ON THE WAY TO THE RESTROOM AAHHH I would have to run for my life through the gardens and slip through the little opening in the fence to ESCAPE LOL)

I also taught mock school at the school house to show people what school life was like in the late 1800s I had to ring the bell every hour! I actually legit hated that cause it was so LOUD when right next to it ah my ears are ringing just thinking about it ah and that heavy as hell mallet 🤣🤣 but it would be a different subject for each hour in the morning and then repeat for the afternoon.

And spinning thread (I was so bad at it oh my gosh) Talking about wool and the dying process 👍

and quilting (so now I know how to hand sew but the sewing machine still makes me scratch my head LOL)

and leather working (I would just talk about the types of leather and the process of tanning, I didn't do it myself that was for the experts. And I would only fill in when they needed an extra pair of hands 👍)

Taught some of the old dances too, but I hardly remember them now though -weeps-

and cooking in the old cast iron wood burning stove (where I got heat exhaustion cause there is a reason they would just cook outside or had a 'summer kitchen' during the summer months oh my GOSH) and I burnt EVERYTHING cause my pyromaniac self would make the fire too HOT LOL There were ladies who made THE BEST food in that thing though! like TOP TEIR BEST EVER! There is something about it that is just AHH SO EXTRA GOOOOD but anyway scraping out the ash afterwards was pretty satisfying and chopping more wood for the next day was liberating after dealing with some of the ANNOYING visitors (It was this dull as hell light little hatchet so it was all brute force and magic (finding where the log will likely split easiest) to pop those suckers in half oh my GOSH) This was also where my SEETHING, LOATHING, HAAATTEEEE for churning butter came from 😤😤 (cleaning that junk with freshly boiled water was the ACTUAL WORST, but at least I was allowed to use dawn dish soap and properly re-clean everything after closing for obvious reasons PFF)

This is only SOME of the stuff I did and had to learn so I could teach and perform LOOOOOL

He stumbles upon the District Ten tribute twelve hours into the Game. She’s been dragged halfway into the water by one of the strange, colorful beasts that populate the neon hellscape that makes up this year’s arena. She’s clutching the branches of a spindly little blue tree that overhangs the shore, arms trembling, hands bloodied from their razor-wire branches. The creature seems content to wait until she finally loses the strength to fight back, neon pink eyes blinking slowly from just above the rippling waterline, its clawed, reptilian hands digging into her hips as it keeps her still and pulls her slowly down. 

Yoshi almost leaves. He already knows that he is unwilling to help carry her through to the finale of this bloodbath. Surely, it would be so much kinder to let her go now, when the death itself will be quick and impersonal instead of messy and inexperienced. At least this way, she won’t have to spend any more time than she already has in pain or in fear.

It’s the best option, and he’s determined to walk away. 

But then she looks at him. Her eyes are dull and sad and hopeless. She looks at him, and she doesn’t for even one second dare to dream that he will help. It’s the most heartbreaking thing he’s ever seen, and he knows he cannot allow this to be the moment she is lost to the world. 

He’s leaping into action before he has a chance to think anything through. The beast screeches and snaps teeth the size of knives at him, lips pulled back, eyes flashing with fury and hunger. Those teeth and claws are really all it has going for it. Its body is thin, almost emaciated. Yoshi wraps his hands around its spindly little neck and he squeezes, snarling right back, ignoring the way its claws tear through his skin, leaving deep gashes that leak blood into the tumultuous waters that it is fighting to drag him deeper into.

He wins that little battle. This creature wasn’t built for a real fight, and Yoshi has been training to survive for the last 17 years of his life. When he drops its still form and turns to make his way back to the shore, he sees the girl he just saved waiting for him on the unnaturally yellow sand. She’s shaking, terrified, but she silently offers him a torn strip of her jacket to wrap around his wounds. 

They form what could be loosely called an alliance. He doesn’t kill her. She doesn’t kill him. They alternate who’s on watch so no one can sneak up on them at night while the other one sleeps. They share what little food they’re able to scavenge, and in the quiet moments they keep one another company.

She tells him her name is Mosely. She’s fourteen and the youngest of seven children. She’s been ready to die since the moment her name was drawn. There’s no chance she’s leaving this arena with a pulse. They both know it, though neither will say it.

Yoshi tells her what little there is to tell. Of the broken remnants of a family (all dead or estranged or disappeared in some other way). Of the little seaside shack he’s worked hard to turn into a home. He shows her how to make an eel trap. He teaches her how to throw a punch.

When the District One boy attacks them, he cuts his throat and the blood stains her shirt. The girl from Eleven meets a similar fate. After he gauges the eyes from the skull of the District Seven boy, and strangles the District Nine girl, he finds that there’s really no use in taking shifts at night. He can’t sleep anymore. The nightmares won’t let him rest for even five minutes.

Mosely doesn’t say much to him, but she does watch him with those dark, sad eyes of hers. She looks like she knows something he doesn’t. Sometimes, she’ll open her mouth like she wants to tell him, but she never actually lets her words spill out. He never does learn what she wanted to tell him. 

On the fourth night, he loses her. 

Two other tributes distract him while their companion grabs Mosely. He doesn’t even hear her scream. He just turns around and sees her crumpled on the ground, blood a dark pool against the neon green of the grass, her dark curls soaked in it. He can see the white of skull through her hair, and the greyish-pink of brain matter beyond that. Her eyes stare straight through him, bloodshot and bulging. Her mouth hangs open, like that secret she’d held so close to her chest is still waiting to spill forth. 

Yoshi doesn’t remember how the rest of the fight went. All he knows is that at the end, there are three strangers’ bodies scattered around them, and he is cradling Mosely’s small form in his lap, telling her he’s sorry while her sad eyes go flat and dull.

They’d both known it would end like this.

6 ･Worst personality trait: Lady Penelope edition

I love Penny, I really do, but I find her back and forth, will they won't they relationship with Gordon kinda frustrating.

Do you love him??? Tell him!!! It's obvious that he loves you!!! AAAAAAA!!!!!

I really wish that they'd had more screen time together where Gordon wasn't at risk of killing himself on a mission because it makes Penny look really bad, she only appears to care about Gordon when he's in danger and plays hard to get the rest of the time. It makes her look manipulative which she isn't!!!

The brothers had plenty of quick shots of them doing random activities (playing chess, talking about memories, playing games) why couldn't we have had that with Gordon and Penny, just hanging out and doing mundane every day stuff and bonding??? I'd probably still open to shipping them if we'd had scenes like this.

I guess this is more of a writing flaw than a personality flaw but it's my only complaint about Lady Penelope, other than that I love her.

8 ･Unpopular opinion: Jeff Tracy edition

For being the center of the story despite not even being there for 99% of the time, TAG Jeff is very plain and forgettable.

I honestly don't really care much about Jeff as a character, he doesn't have that iconic vibe of classic Jeff, he had way more character and personality. He was a strict but concerned dad, a commander, a stubborn asshole, he was powerful and iconic.

TAG Jeff is just a guy who was missing who just happened to be the boys' dad. He has way more of a memorable presence while being missing than he ever did after he showed up at the end. The boys talking about Jeff and his influence was way more memorable and enjoyable than him being found.

Again this might be a screen time issue since we only got to have him for 2 episodes but that's my opinion lol.

13 ･Dumbest thing they've ever done: Grandma Tracy edition

I like to think grandma was a bit of a punk anarchist back in her teens, fighting against the system lol.

I'd like to think the dumbest thing she's done was beat up a cop who was harassing her and her friends for no reason, not because she was wrong in the situation but because she was immediately jumped by a bunch of other police officers and arrested.

Later in life, the younger Tracy boys go digging through Grandma's things while "treasure hunting" and find copies of her mugshots and paperwork for court, and that's when the family learned that grandma was a badass.

It makes a fun little story to tell people at gatherings and parties now.

I love unhinged y/ns and villains so I made an au with one hsjshshs

So in IOC Illusion is a villain working for Eclipse

They were however manipulated by them to think they wanted to become a villain

You see, Illu was raised in a government hero program. They were trained all their life to risk their life for the cause

They were assigned with some others to locate the crime lord Eclipse, but insted of reporting back when they found him they decided to confront them on their own

See, what was actually supposed to happen is that they would report their location if and just if they actually found them and then nothing would come of it, since the government is corrupt and has dealings with organizations like Eclipse's

But Illu didn't know that, they were just a soldier so they attack Eclipse and their men alone when they find him but, even if they put a good fight, they lost, being captured

They were isolated from reality, kept in a room for months with Eclipse being their only contact

Illu resisted a long time but after all they were put through what broke them was knowing that they had been declared dead. No one would come for them then, if they even had looked in the first place

That got them thinking about their purpose and what they actually wanted, since all their life they had served others in power

Eclipse made them think that no one wanted them, that they were just a waste of space and resources, but oh, he saw them, and they would take them in

So Illusion, with so much time to be consumed by their thoughts and nothing or no one to prove them wrong started to believe this...

And that's how they "willingly" became a villain working under Eclipse

They are a great asset thanks to all their training, Eclipse didn't have to worry about that part

They can take anything thrown at them, however they started to encounter a certain pair of vigilantes when out on missions

Sun and Moon didn't think much about it at first but then they started to notice things that pointed them to something being off

So they went digging and oh? This new criminal looks a lot like this "deceased" hero

So they realized something was definetly off about this arrangement and they started to question Illu about it, worried about their safety, Illu wouldn't have any of it ofc, instead deciding that maybe messing with this heros would be fun

That's how they started to grow familiar with one another, too familiar for Eclipse's liking

So they eventually started to suspect Illu might be planning to betray them, they were going soft

So they questioned them and made sure they wouldn't try anything

That however served the opposite function, as it helped make Illu realize how fucked up Eclipse's treatment towards them actually was

They started to avoid Sun and Moon not wanting them to see them like this, but after they were able to track them down Illu finally broke down and admitted they needed help

So Illu returned to Eclipse with a promise, a promise of freedom

Eclipse however was still suspicious and realized that Illu was planning to stab them in the back

And yeah!!!!!!!! AAAAAAA NOW I WANT TO WRITE A FIC BUT IDK HOW OMG BITES YOU BITES YOU BITES YOU ANON FR /POS

in my main canon, no, shay was never fleshbudded. she was wary of dio at first, but never unloyal enough to warrant a bud. i have an old au i need to dig up sometime from around the time i first created her where she was budded and went to india with hol horse for his first appearance. her stand is insanely useful when teamed up with the right partner, and hol horse's emperor is a perfect example. this au has two outcomes — either dio wins and the part ends a LOT sooner, or hol horse hightails it and leaves her there with the crusaders like 🧍‍♀️ FJGNBJK it's an au because i thought of it way before she had any real role in the part, but now that she does, it's been sidelined to an au.

oh man... buckle up, because this is going to be LONG. the quick answer is yes, shay has one significant fight against the crusaders, but she also alters the mansion fight in ways i'd have to draw to thoroughly explain, but tenore sax isn't automatically disabled, plus avdol lives! so there's that. her only solo fight takes place after the hol horse incident, and taking boingo back to the airport to get him on a flight back to aswan, because she's pissed off at that point and decides to go after them herself. shay insists that boingo lets her see thoth to get an idea of what to do, even though she's already setting herself up for failure because he won't be there with her, so she won't know what to do next. i haven't written very much about the actual fight so far, but it'd be around the area where the crusaders are waiting for the beggar to find the mansion, while iggy is fighting pet shop. shay being shay is too headstrong to think about the ramifications of going after five big ass dudes all by herself, and needless to say it doesn't end well for her. also since she gets thrown into the nile, i thought it'd be funny if she gets thrown in close to where iggy surfaces after escaping petshop and she's like "wtf is that a dog" not realizing what dog that is before swimming to save him... JKNGFBKJF i know this doesn't really answer the question, but i'll definitely be posting about it when i figure it out ;w;

       You let loose a victorious whoop as you jump over a particularly high obstacle without even bracing yourself — but your victory is very short-lived.

       Suddenly $!{idren} appears ahead of you, arms outstretched in a welcoming embrace. Without any time to slow down your running, you barrel into ${id_him}, sending you both tumbling to the forest floor.

       When you come to a stop, $!{idren} is braced over you, the void of ${id_his} face barely inches from yours.

       "Gods damn it, $!{pcname}!" $!{id_he} roars, ${id_his} fingers digging into your ${body} shoulders as ${id_he} sits to straddle you. You are clamped between ${id_his} armored legs, unable to move.

       You spit out a leaf that found it's way to your mouth and shout back at ${id_him}.

       "Can't you just leave me alone?!"

       "Not with this I can't." $!{id_he} replies.

       $!{id_he} pulls up into a stand, dragging you with ${id_him}. Looking over your body, ${id_he} reaches some silent conclusion before ${id_he} wraps ${id_his} arm around your waist and hefts you over ${id_his} shoulder again.

(I can’t draw but I really wanted to make a Dotaku Island OC aaaaaaa)

Lime isn’t a frequent visitor to Dotaku, as he’s on rotation under the Hoenn Geology Association and spends most of his time traveling. However, he loves Dotaku Island for its mineral deposits and semi-frequently visits, often bringing along Evolution Stones to see if anyone needs them! (He doesn’t particularly like his last name, and normally requests people call him ‘Limestone’ instead - his parents wanted him to be a Professor, but he just wanted to muck about in caves and collect shiny things). He’s the kind of guy that if you talk to him, chances are he’ll hand you a random gemstone he found - “couldn’t carry it, not enough space” (he has plenty of space).

He can occasionally be found in places he probably shouldn’t be (and occasionally gets stuck in the caves he jumps into), but his team has long since resigned themselves to his explorations and bail him out. He’s been spotted briefly in the North Side of the island at least once, and sheepishly left, claiming he’d seen a massive mica deposit underground, followed it, and emerged there - totally not his fault.

WARNING: DO NOT MENTION NEEDING ANY KIND OF STONE WITHIN EARSHOT. He will come running with bagfuls of whatever you need and insist you pick the best-looking one.

Team:

Swampert (aka Tidalwaver): Limestone’s starter Pokemon! Brave, mischievous and with a fiery temper, she’ll fight anyone and everyone... if her Trainer is paying attention to her while she fights, that is. (He’s probably not, he spotted something shiny a few hundred feet away). They were in the Hoenn League at one point, but Lime got distracted by Granite Cave and met Steven. One thing led to another, and now they’re registered geologists!

Aggron (aka Haematite): Usually the one doing the digging (Limestone tries, but after a while she pushes him away even though he’s doing his best). Met in Granite Cave (trying to eat Lime’s pickaxe). Has a sixth sense for mineral deposits, and has a penchant for eating any metallic ores they come across to taste-test them. Is well-known for her piggyback rides on Dotaku! (Pictured holding a massive honey calcite crystal.)

Luxio (aka Best Boy Luxio, Destroyer of Sadness): Limestone’s only rescue adoption from an abusive Trainer in Sinnoh. He’s frequently babied by the rest of the team and serves the Extremely Important purpose of moral support (also known as ‘receiving pets from literally everyone else’). (Pictured with a large purple fluorite octahedron).

First Encounter

Hiiiiiii this is basically from an AU I'm writing with some friends discord. I'm probably not gonna tag this with anything cause it's kind of self indulgent lmao. But if anyone happens to come across this THIS IS A TICKLE FIC. If that makes you uncomfortable click off now. Without further ado this is the first encounter Puffy had with Skeppy now being a corrupted ler.

This was bad this was bad this was bad!

Puffy panted hard as she ran as fast as her legs could go, Skeppy right behind her, fast approaching. She knew if she could just get to the prime lands she'd be safe. He wouldn't be able to kill her there since it was against the Smp laws.

She yelled for Bad into her communicator, "Don't worry about me Bad I'll be fine. I'm headed towards the Prime lands. Guard the entrance to the egg to make sure he doesn't go back there." She managed to get out, very quickly losing her breath.

"Okay Puffy, be careful!" Bad answered back, headed to the egg like Puffy had instructed.

Puffy didn't mean to attack Skeppy, it was out of self defense. But now it looked like he was out for vengeance, and she didn't want to lose all of her stuff, or worse a canon life. When she turned around she could see Skeppy was no longer behind her and she quickly slowed down for a second to catch her breath now that he was in the Prime lands.

She turned the corner behind the church and let out a yelp at Skeppy just standing there, staring at her.

He had been expecting her.

"You can't hurt me here!" She yelled. "These are the Prime lands. We're right behind the church!" She finished right as Skeppy made a step towards her. She instinctively took a step back in retaliation.

"Who said anything about hurting you?" He asked in his signature monotone voice. He still made his way forwards, but Puffy had stopped in confusion.

"Wait, what?" She asked, still putting her arms out in front of her in case Skeppy decided to strike. "WhA-" she yelped as Skeppy tackled her with surprising force and speed, something she couldn't imagine blue Skeppy would ever be able to do.

"What are you do- aaaAAAA-" Before Puffy could even get out the question, his fingers began skillfully digging into her tummy, causing immediate laughter to erupt from her throat before she could stop it.

Puffy quickly tried to grab onto Skeppy's arms and attempted to push them away from her, but they just wouldn't budge. Skeppy suddenly switched over to her sides, his fingers vibrating at a speed that made Puffy nearly jump out of her skin. Her laughter in response went up a few octaves before childlike giggles bubbled from her chest.

"Whahahat ihihis hahahappehehening?!" Puffy managed to get out before dissolving back into hysterics underneath Skeppy's skilled hands.

Through the communicator Puffy had dropped next her when she'd been tackled, Bad's concerned voice could be heard, "Puffy?! Are you okay? Why are you laughing?"

Puffy however couldn't answer as Skeppy began spidering up her ribs, reaching just underneath her underarms before slowly making his way back down; over and over again. Tears were beginning to form in her eyes and her laughter becoming breathy.

Without slowing his hands, he slowly leaned down to talk into Puffy's ear where only she could hear him, "Oh Puffy, haven't you noticed yet? This wonderful laughter is all me and the egg truly desire." He suddenly dug into her armpits, causing her laughter to go silent for a second before she took a deep breath in order to continue.

"When the two of you left me in the egg, this is what I had to endure, only it was so, so much worse. And for a lot, lot longer." Skeppy lowered his voice into almost a whisper at that last part, causing ticklish goosebumps to rise on Puffy's neck.

Even though Puffy's thoughts were slowly becoming delirious, the chill of realization flowed through her like a cold river. The thought of Skeppy enduring this for an entire night caused guilt to overtake her. Was that really what the egg's true motive was??

Puffy's thoughts were then interrupted by a sudden large raspberry being blown into her neck, right below the ear Skeppy had been speaking into. Puffy squealed and scrunched her neck as tears finally made their way down her cheeks. Skeppy blew a shorter second one before slowing his fingers only slightly to make sure she could understand him.

"I know deep down you're enjoying this," he said nonchalantly, "after all, you were drawn to the egg in the first place, weren't you?"

Puffy's face began heating up and she shook her head no, unable to get any words out. Skeppy sped up his fingers again, tickling between each of her ribs. "I know you're lying to me." Was all he said.

Bad's voice rang out from the communicator once again, "Hang on Puffy I'm on my way. I'm not far."

Skeppy huffed in annoyance that his fun was almost over. He once again spoke into Puffy's ear, "It is not his time to know about this just yet," he said firmly, letting up his fingers for a second as Puffy breathed. "If I find out you told Bad anything…" Skeppy suddenly slipped his hands under Puffy's coat and scribbled all of her belly and sides, giving Puffy his clear warning.

Puffy cackled and arched her back before it slammed back down, so tired that she was officially unable to even fight back. In her mirth she was unable to hear as Skeppy let in a large breath begore blowing several more raspberries into her neck, finally causing her laughter to go silent. After about a minute Skeppy could hear Bad's footsteps from across the way, and quickly let up and disappeared around the corner. Just as Bad turned the other corner, Skeppy was gone. All that was left was Puffy laying on the ground, barely conscious. She was breathing heavily, small giggles making their way out of her mouth every now and then.

Concerned, Bad quickly went to help Puffy sit up, handing her water that he had in his inventory.

"Puffy are you okay?" Bad asked, "what happened?"

Being unable to think clearly enough for an answer she just shook her head and mumbled, "just a bit out breath, I'll be fine."

it’s one of those things that’s always in the back of my mind. i am aware that it’s not healthy to base your happiness on other people’s opinion of you, but right now it’s very difficult for me not to. hope you don’t mind, but i’ll just talk about my situation and maybe you’ll find some comfort in the fact that you’re not alone hehe :’)

i started a new semester with all these new (and older) people back in august and haven’t really connected with anyone yet. the friends i had before all go do different places and i hardly ever see them anymore (last time was literally in november) although i do chat with them a few times a week, it just doesn’t feel the same as seeing them face to face. because when i’m not there with them i can’t really tell if they’re talking to me because they want to or if they just consider me to be a bother. i especially feel as tho the latter is closer to the truth because im usually the one encouraging any sort of conversation with the group of friends i have in the first place :/

i have people to talk to at the place i study at now, but would i consider them friends? not really. at the moment i feel incredibly lonely. but i also don’t care about it if that makes sense? even with how numb i feel most of the time i still get this unsettling feeling when i think about how i haven’t been asked out to do something in a while now. maybe that’s partly due to covid, but at the same time we have very little restrictions right now and everyone else seems to be hanging out all the time......

i still live with my parents and because of my three younger siblings i’ve never really felt like a priority to them. everyone and everything else always comes first and i’m just expected to take on the third parent role for my siblings. my mother is incredibly emotionally unavailable, especially when it comes to me. i’ve heard that mothers are meant the ones to build up your confidence and shape you into a person, but mine has always kept me at an arms length. she never compliments me and whenever i’ve tried to be nice to her she just brushes me off or sends me to do something else. including that, almost all of the friends i’ve ever had in the past have all been terrible at giving verbal reassurance or praise to me and considering how my love language is literally words of affirmation.............. i’ve been feeling incredibly unloved

to try and dig out a bright side here, i know that the social interactions i get may feel a little empty as of now, but at least i get some right? it could always be worse. in addition to that i know deep down that people do care and that they just don’t always know how to express it right. listen, i have no choice but to stick to that thought so i don’t go completely crazy here aaaaaaa. oh and yeah i do have my precious tumblr besties who i love very much <333

i really wish i could give you some proper advice and reassurance on this stuff but i’m still figuring out how to go about this myself. just keep in mind that people have different ways to show that they care. if your friends are actually drifting away from you, then they’re the ones losing a good friend. it’s never your fault if other people just get up and leave so don’t let them drag your confidence down. as difficult as it is i know both you and i will find the right people who will make us feel special and cared for.

So I was wandering around in Inazuma bc I thought it would be fun when I know it is not.

So I once again use Kaeya to cross the ocean bc I don’t like the boats and didn’t feel like finding their station to get one.

And I came across this weird island??? Like it’s a spooky island that had at least 7 ship wrecks around it yeah?

And saw a samurai looming over a sleeping hilichruls and I was like “imma avoid that place bc they are asleep” and since the sun had already sat, I try to just ice bridge my way to another island.

Alas, that didn’t work and the samurai started attacking so I changed the time into day to see better and while fighting him, i somehow got yeeted into where the hilichruls are sleeping and they didn’t move???

So I thought they were under a spell or something bc they looked way too peaceful laying there so I went “ maybe I need to defeat the samurai for them to wake up?”

So I did that and they didn’t wake up??? And was starting to panic bc “wHy ArE tHeY sTiLl AsLeEp???!!!” And literally used Barbara’s healing thingy to try to get them to wake up but they didn’t!!!

AND I REALISED THEY ARE DEAD!!! WHY ARE THEY DEAD DANNY!!!!!! AAAAAAA

I feel so sad now bc of that and I am never stepping a foot there again, I can’t even dig a grave for them or place flowers next to them :((

YOU WANT MORE COMABUR MEMORIES??? IVE GOT MORE COMABUR MEMS FOR YA!!!

A continuation of this post because I've been digging around and the memories are coming back more and more! Mostly pre-dsmp and S2, S3 is still mostly a blur to me b u t! Under the cut~

So I'll start with some pre-dsmp memories of mine. So as a refresher, my canon had Phil as my dad, Techno as my twin but older by a few minutes, and Tommy as our little brother. I don't remember our mom, though I know we always joked about Philza and the fridge XD I think Tommy was our half-brother, and had a different mom than Tech and I? Still a bit fuzzy on that.

I mentioned how my Tech was a piglin-human hybrid, while I was more "human with very few piglin traits". One thing I remember though was I actually had naturally pink hair that matched Techno's, but I dyed it brown and often wore my beanie to hide when my roots were coming in. I'll explain more why I did this later.

I remember pre-dsmp, I grew up in another smp. SMP's kinda... worked like varying realms one could teleport between? The teleportation was difficult though so there was rarely anyone who'd frequently swap between smps. But I grew up in Earth SMP's Antarctic Empire! Phil raised Techno and I, and later we had Tommy with us too! I remember it was always cold, but in our castle and fortress it was much warmer. Techno, being Techno, was extremely skilled in combat and strategy and Phil took him under his wing(hah!) as the technical heir to the throne and taught him everything he'd need to know about conquest. Me, I preferred teaching myself diplomacy, fighting wars with words rather than with blood. For a time this worked actually, Techno and I really balancing each other out, but soon things got... Eh.

Tommy brought it up to me first, I think he trusted me to open up to more than the others(sorry Tech and Phil but I'm the favorite xoxo /J) and basically opened up about how unhappy he was there. He wanted to explore the world, not be holed up in some frozen corner of the planet going and conquering a bunch of strangers just so we could follow Phil's and Tech's legacy. He felt suffocated in their shadows and... tbh I felt somewhat similar. So we made a plan, and one night we ran away without saying a word... Well, I left Techno a letter, but.

We ran to the portal, and somehow convinced Dream to give us access to the dsmp. I think he agreed because he knew that would knock Techno down a peg(my Dream and Tech were rivals for p obvious reasons). And we started over there. I dyed my hair, we got ourselves a new wardrobe, and we thought starting over in a small place without many people would be good! We lied about our past, though. We didn't want to be connected to the Antarctic Empire... both because we were trying to leave that part of us behind but also so no one would tell Tech and Phil where we were. This was our new start!

AND WHAT DOES TOMMY DO. START A FUCKING WAR WITH DREAM HIMSELF.

Tommy. Ily. But you're so stupid. /lh

So I've talked about how my mems from S1 and half of S2- up to Techno's execution- went, but I've remembered a bit more!

After Techno brought me back to his cabin, we talked for a long time about what happened. I told him I didn't remember anything leading up to my "death", and Techno filled in the gaps for me. I also didn't realize Phil was in the server because... Well I don't remember my confrontation with him. I also didn't remember my hypnosis, and since Dream is the only other one who knew, Tech didn't know and didn't relay that to me.

We agreed that for now, it'd be best if I stayed with him instead of back in L'manburg. And for a while I did!

One day though, Techno finds Tommy. ... Specifically the Tommy that was living under his house like a raccoon. Techno was furious and started chasing Tommy around, who was still hoaring his Gapples and whatnot, and when I finally walked outside to see what the hell was going on, I locked eyes with Tommy, and we both stopped.

He was white as a sheet, and looked about to cry, and luckily Techno stopped chasing him after seeing this. Again, Tubbo Quackity and Ranboo never told Tommy about me, he thought I was dead. I spoke up first with a "Tommy?" And he goes "Wil... You're alive?" To which I started tearing up- "Yeah... Yeah, I'm alive!" And we both just- broke at that, we ran to each other, I nearly crushed him in a hug and we were just sobbing. He thought I was gone, and I had gone so long without seeing my favorite lil bro that just... Aaaaaaa

After that Tommy explained his exile to Techno and I, and why he ran away and lived under Techno's house. I think Techno was softened up by seeing how happy Tommy and I were to be reunited, but also Tommy's his brother too, so he agreed to let Tommy stay too.

Now, Tommy was salty at L'manburg for exiling him, and Techno is anti-government. But- I think Techno was even more against L'manburg because of how hurt Tommy and I came out of it. So Techno and Tommy swore vengeance and decided to start doing crimes against L'manburg. I stayed out of it though- I was in good enough shape to take care of myself by this point, but I still way too injured to be in any sort of fighting shape.

And then one day... Techno came home without Tommy. Turns out Tommy sided with Tubbo in the end... and Techno was still determined to destroy L'manburg. Eventually they broke Philza out and- hoooooo that was an awkward reunion. Dream also came over from time to time to plan for their attack. I was. V uncomfortable around my Dream for reasons I couldn't explain(spoilers: it's the hypnotism that I forgot happened). I wanted nothing to do with their plan. I didn't want Tommy hurt, and I wasn't going to help them hurt him. I should've done more to stop them, but... Can't change the past.

After making a crater where L'manburg was, I confronted Phil. I called him out on doing something so awful... And he called me out for doing the same. He said to me, "Power corrupts, Wil. I've seen it with Schlatt, I've seen it with Tubbo, and most importantly I've seen it with you!" To which I retort, "You see it in everyone but yourself, Phil!" Because... ANTARCTIC EMPIRE ANYONE??? Turns out the Empire disbanded shortly before Tech and Phil came to the server, I don't remember how exactly that falling out occurred, but there was a reason why Tech and Phil were so strongly against any governments at this point.

After our fight, I left Tech and Phil. Tommy needed me. I built my own place not far from the crater, and frequently visited Tommy, Tubbo, and the others. Not Ranboo though, since Ranboo stayed with Phil and Techno. And Niki kinda wouldn't talk to me because she was... def also upset at thinking I was dead.

I was with everyone who confronted Dream when he had his finale with Tubbo and Tommy. He was NOT going to hurt my boys fuck no. Tommy took 2 of Dream's lives and you BET YOUR ASS I WAS CHEERING HIM ON(sorry Dream kinnies ily)

And then. Oh boy. Before Tommy could go for a third... Dream turned to me, and said something- I forget what, maybe it wasn't English, but it snapped something in me. I may have forgotten being hypnotized, but the effects were still there. Something came over me and I everything in my system was screaming at me to attack Tommy... so I did. I screamed, and lunged at him, but I was only able to tackle him and couldn't even get a hit in before Quackity and a few others were able to grab me and pull me off of him. I was thrashing to get free, but thank fuck they held me down.(Big Q ilysm /platonic)

It was then Dream revealed what he did to me way back in Pogtopia. He spoke something again, and I just felt that urge in me drop like a rock through my body, and I fainted then and there. When I came to, Big Q filled me in on what happened. Dream said he was the only one who knew how to undo what was done to me, and if he was killed, they'd run the risk of me doing that again. So they put Dream in the prison.

Now most of S3 is still blurry to me, but I remember breaking into the prison with Tommy. And that confrontation(which would've been Ghostbur if I was canon compliant but nope my canon is OFF THE RAILS). Tommy was with Sam, and I was stuck on the other side with Dream. Dream threatened that if he wasn't let go, he would "reset" me, whatever that meant. There was a lot of arguing and tbh I was terrified, but I knew I couldn't let Dream go. So I looked at Tommy and I told him "It's gonna be okay, Tommy."

And then everything went black. My memories after this are VERY blurry but- I think Dream somehow reverted my mind back to how it was during my Pogtopia corruption arc. And I had that itch in the back of my mind again. I'm the villain. Time to act like one.

So we all know that you love both Stephen from the comics and the mcu. Are there things from the mcu you prefer over the comics when it comes to Stephen? Are there things from the comics you prefer over the mcu when it comes to Stephen?

Oh, there are! Both ways, actually.

Things from MCU Stephen that I prefer over comics Stephen: first of all, Benedict Cumberbatch. He’s such a great actor, such a great person, he has such a beautiful, strong voice. Sometimes, comics portray Stephen as an older person or an uncle from 80′s with that awful mustache. I think Benedict embodies the perfect image for him. Also, I’m not a great fan of how comics usually tend to portray the common standard for a perfect body. Stephen is not physically the strongest character ever, yet occasionally, there’s this tendence of a bulky body. I know he also fights several martial arts, but let’s just say it’s not his first choice of action. Benedict doesn’t apply to this standard as well, not like Chris Evans or Hemsworth at least. He gained a bit of muscle mass to play Stephen, but I’d rather see Sherlock’s body. I mean, personally I see magic users as people who can’t actually be that strong (and this is why I love wizards and sorcerers, I relate to it on a spiritual level). Also, it is good to see other shapes of bodies on people we admire because, well, people are different and representativeness matters. The cast is also so diverse - unless for Tilda’s polemics, but I don’t want to discuss this at this moment. Another trait that I like in MCU Stephen is his kink with songs and dates. He’s a living discography and certainly is the perfect person to create a great playlist for your party. Finally, I also like how he doesn’t hesitate before Thor and Loki, unlike the first time they’ve met in comics. He’s so certain what he’s doing. I’m 100% positive that the Time Stone should be on Thanos’ hands for their plan to work. It’s like, they had to lose so others could win. It’s my first one theory because I trust him entirely.

Things from comics Stephen that I prefer over MCU Stephen: my biggest problem is with how magic is portrayed in the movies. They are mostly a bunch of seals, mandala-alike, except maybe for the Crimson Bands of Cyttorak and the Images of Ikonn. But what I actually miss, for instance, are the Vapors of Valtorr, Bolts of Balthakk, Flames of Faltine, and so on. I mean, Stephen’s spells are very related to elemental magic: fire, wind, lightning. I wish to see that, not only shields and weapons. I also prefer comics Stephen’s personality when it comes to deal with “guests”. Sometimes, he has zero patience to deal with some heroes. Sometimes, he acts very insecure. All we could see from Infinity War was a clash of super egoic heroes, and to be fair, I don’t like egoic Stephen because he’s been through so much and learned from his past mistakes. It’s a trait that doesn’t fit him anymore. One last thing that I love is how his depression and insecurity is well portrayed in the shape of metaphors. We see very little of this trait in Doctor Strange, except for when Christine leaves him and he has to deal with his loneliness, not to mention the iconic “Pain is an old friend��. I know there’s no time, especially in Avengers. Yet, that’s a thing that I really love and wish to see more.

I think that’s all? I had to dig real deep to find something because his versions are so good, I have nothing really substantial to complain about. Scott Derrickson made an incredible job and I couldn’t be happier. The only reason I don’t post about MCU Stephen is that I meant to create a blog for comics Stephen, but I’m following every single news from movies, making-of and all that stuff. I’m this anxious haha. Also I’ll be on Avengers premiere (aaaaaaa it’s almost here) because I can’t wait any longer, I’m in pain help.

Anyway, thank you for dropping an ask, it makes me very happy that someone wants to know my opinions toward such a great character that we all love and admire so much! ^-^

Pacific Rim: Uprising

So as some of you might know, I like giant monsters and I like writing stuff (in theory), so how about I try combining the two things. In like a tangible way, not like the Kumonga (giant spider from Godzilla series) fanfic I have been working on for well over a year that still is not halfway done.

I am going to give my short and spoiler-free thoughts here and then go into more depth under the cut.

I really liked it. I laughed out loud at some of the gags, my mouth hung agape during some of the action, I whispered excitedly to my girlfriend next to me who had her own adorably goofy grin throughout, my feels got poked here and there, and I left the theater really happy. It was not perfect by any means nor was it as good as the first, but I will honestly probably watch again while it is still in theaters once it goes discount.

Now for my detailed thoughts where I spoilerize the whole movie.

Having said that I liked it, the first thing I want to talk about is, from what I’ve seen, the biggest point of contention. They fridged Mako Mori. For those who don’t know, “fridging” is a short hand for “Women in Refrigerators” which is when a character, usually a woman, is killed or otherwise brought to dramatic harm for the narrative benefit of another character, generally used for making a guy sad and angry. What separates this from general tragedy in fiction is that usually the character whom the harm befalls was a character in their own right and what happens to them has nothing to do with them or their narrative.

Mako Mori was the deuteragonist, or second main character, of Pacific Rim 1. What made her different from just being a supporting character was that she had her own story entirely independently from the other main character, Raleigh. Her story was about how her family was killed in a kaiju attack, she was adopted by the legendary pilot Stacker Pentecost, she longed to become a pilot herself and strike back against the monsters that had taken so much from her and others and to prove to her adopted father that was as strong and capable as he. In Uprising she is killed in a helicopter crash to prevent her from delivering her negative views to a committee about deploying drone Jaegars. She is mourned briefly (but with incredible acting by John Boyega) and it’s revealed that her dying act was to send information that advances the plot one step.

This is a really crappy way to see a character out. This is right up there or worse than things like Tokyo S.O.S. where the entire previous movie was about building up the character of Akane only to shuffle her off at the start of the sequel for “Special Training in America”. This is worse than the Power Rangers’ peace conference they kept sending Rangers too. I mean, in the 2nd Mortal Kombat movie, they kill Johnny Cage in the first five minutes and THAT was better than Mako’s exit because at least he died doing things in his character, ya know, fighting the bad guy, and it raised the stakes by saying “oh this guy beat the tough guy in the previous movie but THIS tough guy killed him like nothing”. The other main character from the first, Raleigh, is just never seen nor is his fate brought up, THAT would have been preferable to this.

I’ve heard rumors that this was done for political reasons to get better box office in China. The first movie’s bad performance in China was largely blamed on the fact that it featured a Japanese woman protecting China, or so it is said. I’m not sure if I believe that was the actual motivation, but with the lousy killing of that Japanese woman and then having a Chinese woman go on to protect Japan, well, I see where the rumor is coming from at least.

So yeah, tl;dr, the way they killed Mako sucked and I don’t blame anyone if that’s a deal-breaker on their enjoyment of this movie. If they decide to bring her back as a cyborg or say that she survived the crash, but they put her in hiding for her protection, or whatever in Pacific Rim 3, I’m all for it. It would be dumb, but not as dumb as how they wrote her out in the first place.

All that out of the way, there was a lot I liked. The Mako thing puts a big “but” on my feelings, but I still liked it. There were other little issues I’ll talk about too, but none of them are comparable to the killing of Mako.

STUFF I LIKED! Jake Pentecost! I have yet to see John Boyega not be a delight to watch and this movie did not break that streak. His character was funny and charming in a dorky way. He also had to do most of the emotional lifting on this movie (with his dead disappointed dad and his newly dead sister and his shame at his past bad behaviors) and he carries that weight like a friggin champ. Also I really liked how they seemed to be leaning towards a OT3 with his copilot, whom he does call sexy and seems to have the most feelings about, and that engineer lady, who was just kinda there to make it less gay I guess.

The cadets! These kids, I may not remember all their names, but they brought a great feeling to the movie. I’m not gonna lie, I like kids’ stuff sometimes (a lot of the time depending on your definition of kids’ stuff) and kids in action/adventure is easy to fuck up. They brought in a lot of energy and the idea of “the younger generation” being able to step up and even being pushed to do so before it might be seen as appropriate due to a rapidly deteriorating situation is certainly relatable. Also they actually killed one of them as a way of saying “no, their youth does not guarantee their safety for the finale”. Also they used a giant robot to flip off a giant monster and I have to respect that.

Scrapper! Most the Jaegars in this movie felt more than a bit derivative of the ones from PR1, but that little girl was a delight. I liked the idea of a mini Jaegar able to run with one person and move into smaller areas faster. I loved how she rolled up into a little ball to preserve momentum and to protect the pilot during impacts. I loved her being used to do field maintenance on one of the bigger Jaegars in the finale. I just really feel that scrapper was an unsung hero of the movie.

Newt and Hermann! PRECIOUS GAY NERDS! If you watched PR1 and 2 and you actively deny that these two are in love, we are not friends any more (feelings of ambivalence are fine, but it won’t win you any points in my book). These two stole the show every single time they were on screen and that is impressive for a giant monster movie to make me actually more into the scientist characters than the pilots. I know some people were pissed about Newt being brainwashed by the Precursors, but it’s not like he was a willing ally. I mean, he was all but crying when he was strangling Hermann (who also seemed to be effing reassuring him that it wasn’t his fault and aaaaaaa I’m gonna cry). And honestly, I think giving the Precursors and the kaiju a human face and voice, and one as interesting as Newt’s, was a great idea. It actually made me hate the Precursors in a way beyond the generic “they’re trying to destroy the earth” way. If a third happens I want Newt to be struggling back and forth under their control. Also he and Hermann should kiss.

This does segue into my favorite complaint against most things by the way; it should have been gayer. I use this complaint so much that it’s basically a running joke with my friends, but I mean it every time. Newt and Hermann are in love. Their plot in the first movie was all about them coming together and how it made them better and helped them to aid in saving the world. In this movie, I don’t even know where to start, it’s just unambiguously a sad romance where two people’s lives split when they both know they’re happier together. Like even the people making the movie straight up say that, yeah, that’s intentional and it would have been explicit if the powers that be didn’t fear losing money by having gay stuff. Also there’s no way way Viktoriya’s hostility towards Amara didn’t stem from misplaced feelings of attraction, I honestly expected (hoped with my gay heart) that Vic would kiss Amara during the finale.

I liked the kaiju! THIS SHOULDN’T SURPRISE ANYONE! Now the three main kaiju that attack Japan, none of them really stood out too much to me other than one of them had a cool thing where their face opened up and one of them liked to dig I guess(?), but that wasn’t all we got. The Jaegar/Kaiju hybrids that attacked in mass were pretty effing cool, honestly with their color variation from white to kaiju blue glowy bits and weapons and yeah. Then we got the Ultra Kaiju that was a combination of the three big un’s that attack Japan, that thing was quite the friggin monster. It may seem like a silly thing, but a kaiju that is a giant to other giants always gets me, like, terrified if done right. Were any of them better than my girl Otachi from PR1? No, but I wouldn’t mind having toys of any of them on my desk either.

The action! I mean, duh, it’s an action movie, if you don’t like the action you’re not gonna have a good time. I can’t say it was better than PR1, but I CAN say it was better LIT than PR1 with all the colors of the kaiju and jaegars shining brilliantly and all their moves on clear display. And they did a damn Rider Punch from the atmosphere to kill the Ultra Kaiju. I even loved Newt and Hermann beating up the guards in the elevator in their feisty nerd way.

Oh yeah, the other thing I didn’t really like was the ending. Like the very ending after they Rider Punched the Ultra Kaiju to death and captured Possessed Newt. I get that they were trying to have a light moment much like the end of PR1, but Jake and Amara having a snowball fight right after a fight that left them both pretty banged up and one of the cadets dead, along with probably a lot of civilians, was just kinda weak and odd. And where the flip was Shao? She was instrumental in saving the world, you'd think they'd give her a parting scene/shot. Then came the sequel stinger and I just wasn’t feeling the idea of a movie where we invade the Anteverse. I mean, it might be cool, but it just made me think of a movie with humans running around in giant robots and stomping on aliens, but it being ok because it was us doing it to them this time.

So yeah, those are some of my thoughts on Pacific Rim: Uprising. I get why some people hated it or just didn’t care that much about it, but I enjoyed it even with it doing Mako dirty. See you in the drift, nerds!
