merlin’s secret being a visual thing. when he is around arthur or gwen or leon or morgana or [insert whatever character here] merlin seems pale and thin, almost like a ghost or an apparition. when the sun lands on him he reflects it like a corpse, he eyes seem dark and dull. he has this ethereal beauty to him, this otherworldly visage that leads many to believe he is of fae blood. he just doesn’t seem to be 100% human. but when he is ONLY with lancelot or gaius (cough or gwaine bc gwaine DEFINITELY knew) merlin is heartachingly human. merlin shines in the sunlight, colors are brighter and more vibrant around him, and his smiles are wide and his laughs are boisterous. he takes on color and leaves everyone wanting to know him. but when other join in or interact with the two, merlin shifts before their eyes so quickly and suddenly that they aren’t sure whether or not what they saw was a trick of the light. the idea still leaves them wanting more and wanting to see the merlin who is just so full of life but that merlin only appears for a small select group of people. merlin who has a guard so high that it has an effect of other’s perception of him.
also like this coming explicitly after smot ("kon discovers he's being selfish and immature and needs to grow up!") and directly refering smot and then going "kon is being selfish and immature and needs to grow up" is so fucking stupid. like. oh my god. i know yall at dc aren't literate given that you can neither read nor fucking write, and don't know what to do with most characters in general bc none of you passed like 5th grade english i guess, but jesus fucking CHRIST. come up with a new narrative idea for him. this one has been done at LEAST 50 times by now like "kon needs to grow up" as a plotline happened PLENTY in sb94 itself (not that yall can read, i understand, but still). christ on a goddamn bike.
Creator's Description: Zelle is a fantasy horror adventure game for Windows/Mac made in Japan. It was inspired by games like Castlevania, the Wizardry series, and Clock Tower. You can explore the inside and outside of the castle using adventure game mechanics and battle demons with strategic mouse clicks.
Explore the world of Zelle as the protagonist, Emerada, a boy who’s been confined to his room in an old castle by a Reaper. He makes a daring escape attempt to return home to his nearby village, but the castle is deep within a forest that’s haunted by demons. The Goddess grants him the power to repel the demons, but he must face many trials before winning his freedom. A Reaper wearing a strange mask, a moon-faced man, a little boy who loves to dance... The truth gradually comes to light as his lost memories return.
This is but one night in the story of a little boy’s life.
As someone who unfortunately REALLY didn't like the turn the story took in Doom Eternal, I think the only way the new game will convince me is if it's:
a) about doing the final demon cleanup and attempting to properly rebuild humanity in the aftermath, hence the "dark age" part of the title
b) has a fishing minigame
Hasn't my man done enough by this point does he not deserve to crack open a cold one and reel in some fucked up looking demon fish for like five minutes in his busy schedule
staring so hard at my final author's note on the first law. i picked the laws of physics for the title because they're perfect for hopper and mike's dynamic (they're literally the only two characters in the show who explicitly have a solid understanding of the fundamentals of physics) but god the potential sequel fics circling my brain would be so hard to write
