Bro we finally got to see Lilith’s card and we don’t even get to see her face come ONNN.

Viv you already spoiled so much regarding the show, might as well show off Lilith, like…why is she keeping her in the shadows so much? Also I would say it’s too early but I think this card is borderline proof that she’s a villain, they’re making it so obvious lol like there is no reason why we’re going THIS long without seeing or knowing anything about her while Lucifer gets all the attention and is going to be painted in a more sympathetic light.

It legit pisses me off cause in the pilot they indicate Charlie actually had a close relationship with her mom considering she was the one who got called by her daughter for advice, but from what we’ve seen Charlie’s going to be interacting with her dad in the show a lot while Lilith will probably get no more than a brief mention or a cameo. Viv is keeping her in the shadows for a reason, she’s 100% a villain and ngl I’m starting to believe the “Lilith separated with Lucifer because he wasn’t evil anymore”- allegation.

And again, I wouldn’t have a problem with Lilith being a villain had we not known that Viv is aiming for Lucifer to be “not that bad he’s just uwu goofy” and sympathetic. It’s once again biased/favoritism writing and I really don’t want another Stolas and Stella situation. Obviously this is mostly speculation and guesses, I’ll wait and see till the show comes out but I am 100% expecting more misogynistic and biased writing.

20 for Ishmael?

One of the funniest parts of this is that i didn't even look at the number i saw the word Ishmael and went aw i should draw him. so i did, just now (6' human for scale)

he struggled really hard to stay bipedal as he aged and eventually gave up entirely, but he would occasionally rear up meerkat style for a good vantage point if he was out of the water. it's hell on his back and he'd probably have to dangle his tail off the edge of a pier or something for balance

i do love him so much but writing him is rough as hell. his interactions with his crush/unhealthy obsession object Callum are hard to write and quite painful... lots of strong emotions and shades of visceral disgust and dehumanisation. I mentioned previously at some point that I have to basically write Callum's extreme negative reaction to a sexual advance by Ishmael, and it gets tangled with the politics of who is allowed to express sexual intent without it coming across as inherently creepy or a prelude to violence, so in Callum's point of view it was almost tantamount to assault.

it's a complicated situation but i feel almost an inevitable one - there is no world in which Ishmael understands consent and personal space at this age, and also no world in which Callum would ever view Ishmael as an equal worthy of respect. His rejection of Ishmael would be the latter's proverbial Lowest Point before he finally finds some companionship among the beta phocids and, in a group setting with equals, has to learn reallyyyy fast what behaviours are acceptable and which aren't.
