#Fairy Tail Alvarez War Arc

I just realized something two of my favorite ships are shonen protagonist going feral after something happens to their lover. The similarities, both in war too. In know I'm bringing up old wounds but you can't deny its all pretty romantic.

So I mentioned this to @spot-of-tea a little while ago; I have an idea for any Fairy Tail fanfic authors who want some inspiration.

We all remember the Gray and Lyon vs Ur fight in the final season/arc, yeah? The one where Neinheart basically resurrected Ur and made her fight her boys. Well I love a good 'emotionally fraught battle' and 'the students surpass their mentor' moment, but for some reason that fight felt just a touch lackluster to me. Gray by that point has surpassed Ur and then some, he even points this out and admits the battle they're fighting will be more helpful to Lyon's growth than his own.

Personally, I feel like it would've been more intense and fulfilling if Lyon beat Ur by himself. Oh- but Konami stan, who would Gray have to fight? You can't just throw Lyon to the wolves and not do anything with Gray! You are absolutely right! And do you know what would give Gray the same push forward in character/personal growth as Lyon? Killing Deliora in one-on-one combat.

Zeref wrote his Etherios into books, sealing their souls into the tomes and making their bodies out of raw magic power ( also called Ether). I have always seen Lullaby and Deliora as Etherios too (I have some Thoughts™ about Lullaby and the 'seal' that Kageyama broke back in season 1, but that's a rant for another post.), and being Etherios when their bodies are destroyed they return to their books, right? In order for the aforementioned fight to play out Deliora's book would need to be lost, as in not being kept in Tartaros because we all know how that turns out.

If Deliora's book were lost and unsealed that opens the door for that monster to make reoccurring appearances throughout the entire series. So long as the book in intact (I'm not saying it was kept intact in canon, this is just a scenario for anyone to use if they want to) then Deliora and Lullaby both could've come back.

NOW- imagine Neinheart getting his hands on Deliora's book, or maybe Zeref gave it to him knowing Neinheart isn't his strongest pawn but a resourceful one all the same. Neinheart still summons Ur to fight The Boys™, but Neinheart isn't satisfied with just one woman on par with the Ten Wizard Saints- no, he wants to ensure victory by any means necessary. So he opens the book, his trump-card, and unleashed the Demon of Destruction.

Deliora rampages immediately, ruthelessly killing anything that moves (Neinheart having the book could probably order it not to kill the Alvarez soldiers), which leaves the boys in a predicament. The town is being ruined, good people are dying, and Ur is fighting on the wrong side of this war- someone has to stop her but someone also has to stop Deliora. The only one with Devil Slayer magic knows what he's gotta do. Gray is able to kill Deliora with the magic inherited from his father, he gets his vengeance for himself and everyone Deliora stole from him (his parents, Ur, and by technicality Lyon since he spent/wasted years of his life thawing it out using Moon Drip), Gray has won but Lyon is still fighting.

Lyon beats Ur one-on-one succeeding his master by himself, truly no one can ever dispute his accomplishment now. He didn't need to rely on Gray but now he's exhausted and his magic power are waning (probably), I'd imagine Lyon transferring as much of his magic power as he safely can to Gray in order to finish off Neinheart but I dunno. I don't actually remember how that battle ended. Did Gray and Lyon beat him? Or was it Jellal? I'm pretty sure it was Jellal, but I don't know.

It's out of my hands now! Go, run wild, make your fanfics people- cuz I'm sure as hell not going to! So you get my ideas, I get your fanfics, yeah? Okay, good talk.

Chapter 545: Irreplaceable Friends

In the year X793, Lucy wins an award for her new book while all the guilds in the country of Fiore move on with their lives. Hisui pardons Crime Sorcière of their crimes, allowing them to live on to the future.

Gajeel points out that since Lucy and Anna have the same smell, it means he likes Anna. In which Natsu does not deny. It's cute how the Heartfilia Clan has this history with him. He even got the heiress, as his.

Lucy wakes up thinking everything was just a dream. Then sees Natsu and Happy in his house comfortably waiting for her to wake up. She remembers what she did while drunk. We should've seen more of it! Don't fret Lucy, you are Natsu's future bride.

And as Natsu invites her for a job, Lucy is bombarded with memories of them together. Let's dissect this:

1. The Duke of Everloo episode, wherein Natsu tells Lucy that she must burn the book since this is their job. First job and first partnership together!

2. Galuna Island Arc

3. When Natsu saves Lucy from falling, Phantom Lord Arc

4. Loke Arc, when the monsters (Natsu, Gray, and Erza) were having a pillow fight.

5. When an injured Natsu talks with Laxus

6. Oracion seis arc, when they were bombed by Zero

7. Edolas arc, when Earth Lucy met Edo Lucy.

8. Tenrou Island Arc, their battle with Cain Hikaru

9. GMG Arc, Natsu thanks Future Lucy

10. Tartaros Arc, Natsu vs Mard Geer and Igneel vs Acnologia

11. Natsu comes back after the 1 year timeskip

12. Alvarez Arc, the end of the war

Lucy envelops Natsu in a hug. She is thankful and happy with everything that happened. And when it gets emotional, Natsu drags her out to go for a job.

With a promise.

We end Fairy Tail on their 100 year quest.

I never thought that this would happen. Many people were supporting me along the way. I shared with my first blog that I was doing this to heal my inner child who has always been a Fairy Tail fan since 2011. It's been part of my growth and will always be part of my heart.

I'm happy I was able to finish the whole series and finish my NaLu blog! I'm still thinking if I shall proceed with the 100 year quest (it's still ongoing thus I'm hesitating). We'll know when we cross that bridge.

one thing i really do not get about fairy tail is the entirety of bora’s character redemption. 

from the very moment we are introduced to his character which is at the beginning of the franchise, we are told about his usage of charm magic which would only have a real world equivalent to date rape drugs due to the effects of charm magic that lucy described along with the banning of this form of magic years prior. despite the charm magic usage, human trafficking,  unidentified but more than likely sex slavery in bosco, & kidnapping . . he never remains under watch by the magic council or non-magical goverment that governs 90% of the world.

but whats more jarring, is that they found a way to downplay his prior bad acts  by placing him with former villains, boze and sue during the loke + alvarez arc. they even watch the fantasia parade together which doesn’t even make sense as the worst actions that boze and sue commit over the course of the series was participating in the fairy tail-phantom lord war as phantom lord guild members. like the crimes that boze and sue commit are nowhere near the level of bora. they actually deserved character redemption.

Ok I'm going to put this here. I have a hard time believing Acno can actually speak modern Fioren.

Like he wasn't even from Fiore, he's from some secret island that the name comes from Spanish. Sure he might have picked up ancient Fioren when he was at war depending where he was and what language those around him spoke but we don't know the exact location of the fighting since the placement of countries wouldn't have been the exact same 400 years in the past.

But he Def doesn't know modern Fioren. Like he's been a dragon for 400 years and did fuck all after there weren't any dragons he could find to kill to the point he was considered a legend until he showed up in Tenrou. As far as we know, his encounter with Gildarts could have been his first interaction with a human in years and he very clearly was not friendly. The best he can do is probably like a few specific words he's heard from the few times he shows up.

Plot twist that's why he doesn't speak in Tenrou cause he doesn't know how to lol.

Which also they never explained why Acno just suddenly was in Zonia for a bit or why Gildarts was there if the quest he took was in another country altogether.

Like I have my own idea that he was drawn to the sudden spike in dragon slayer signatures since we don't know how long he'd been in Fiore just that it had to have at least been 6 weeks prior to Gildarts return for him to have prosthetic limbs and since Gildarts comes back somewhere between late October to end of November (since the S-class trials are early December) then it's realistic for him to possibly have shown up after the phantom fight which was probably around July to August time, if not earlier.

Plus if you had at least Natsu, Gajeel, Laxus and Cobra actively using their magic all within a concentrated area then it would be a bit of a beacon.

Plus that idea also links up with the three times Acno does show up. Tenrou, Zeref mentions that the fighting had lured Acno but that would be kinda weird since there's been way worse fights in Fairy tail's history so why does this one specifically stand out. Because there are four dragon slayers who all used their magic in at least one fight, three all within the same tiny radius at one point.

Same with Tartarous, Mard Geer says he's there for END but why would Acno be scared of END unless he knows it's Natsu. Zeref is canonically afraid of Acno, it's why he helped create the plan for his destruction. END is supposed to kill Zeref but killing Zeref isn't the same thing as killing a very invulnerable dragon. Regular magic can barely hurt the dragons from the GMG arc and Acno killed half the dragons there. So unless Acno knew END was a dragon slayer, why would he assume he could kill him.

But at that point, 6 of the seven dragon slayers were present in the same area and their dragons did pop out (after Acno arrived but they appeared)

Then he shows up in Alvarez with the goal of killing all the slayers which lines up with his dragon killing goal cause slayers become dragons and he doesn't know about the dragon soul technique so why not just get rid of the future dragons before they change and become a harder kill. (Plus he clearly didn't care Irene was dead since he just pounded her corpse into nothing upon finding her so eh)

Natsu Harem: Fairy GET! 7/14

I haven't forgotten about this series. (人◕ω◕) We're hitting the midway point.

Brandish Mu. (人◕ω◕) Yes, we've got another enemy to reform here~...

When did they meet?

Brandish... is pretty straightforward, honestly. She's probably the last of the harem to arrive. So not a lot of history is being changed so much... Just maybe some events in Alvarez arc. (人◕ω◕)

They met on Caracole Island, when Team Natsu went to rescue Makarov, who went to Alikitasia to negotiate. (人◕ω◕) Nothing really changes in these opening parts. Why would things be different? They're a part of rival continents. And Zeref is gearing up for war. ... Not that Brandish knows that yet. She just wanted her gelatos, and the stand ended up getting destroyed. Brandish's whole day is ruined. (人◕ω◕)

She shrinks Marin to square things with the Fairy Tail wizards, who are incited about Marin attacking them... And then she shrinks the whole island and gives them the warning to not go to Alvarez, if they know what's good for them. Brandish might be lazy, but she's loyal to her home. (人◕ω◕)

Events are quick to spiral after that. They manage to save Makarov and get back home.... But Alvarez catches up pretty quick and begins invading.

When did they get closer?

It's a bit of a typical "prisoner becomes smitten by the enemy" scenario. ... Although. Well. (人◕ω◕) Brandish is still loyal to her homeland. Even after hearing about the truth of her mum's death. Even after growing close to Natsu and Lucy... Brandish refuses to fight Alvarez, but she'll at least talk to August. Try to.

Here's where I'll shake things up a bit. Cuz... Let's be honest. Mest should have never been allowed to tag along with Natsu, Happy, Lucy, and Brandish. (人◕ω◕)*** Yes, Mest. Let's use Brandish as a Trojan Horse and try killing the most powerful member of Zeref's army... I'm sure that won't come with consequences. Especially after he just said he would try hearing them out because of Brandish.

... None of that paranoia in my house, no sir. (人◕ω◕)*** Makarov was competent and kept Mest away from those negotiations, seeing how worked up Mest was. Yes, it did risk Natsu and Lucy... But Natsu has proven himself time and again, and Makarov has seen people turn themselves around for the better - Gajeel, Laxus, Sabertooth... So the Guildmaster sees no harm in giving Brandish a chance.

This gives August an opportunity to speak with not just Brandish, but Natsu as well. Now, don't get the wrong idea - much like Brandish, August holds too much loyalty to Zeref and Alvarez. He's not about to turn about-face and go against Zeref's orders. He's still rather disapproving of Brandish being hesitant in this war. ... However, August can tell the kind of person that Natsu is. Even Lucy. Yes, they're adamant of fighting until the last man, but they refuse to kill their enemies.

And it gets August thinking about who Natsu is to him... Though strange, Natsu is technically his Uncle. As well as August's father's greatest weapon, and preferred method of suicide... But with the mindset Natsu has right now, he's not about to go and fulfill Zeref's longstanding wish. August also has doubts that Natsu has the strength or wherewithal to end Acnologia... Still, he can see Natsu's spirit firsthand. Even when August oozes with killing intent to see if Natsu would back down, turn and flee... Natsu doesn't.

August finds himself in this peculiar position of wanting to keep their rather odd family together. ... Even if that wish runs counter to his father's desires. If they could find a way to deal with Acnologia, to end his father's suffering without killing him... If August could finally meet his mother... If he could keep Brandish happy for a little longer... For these reasons, August is willing to keep Fairy Tail alive long enough to "negotiate" with His Majesty... Although he highly doubts Zeref will listen in his current state. Nevertheless, his talks with Natsu, Lucy, and Brandish seem to have gone well enough, and Brandish herself has higher hopes with August's improved mood.

... Unfortunately, Universe One is still cast. The Spriggan 12 are still transported closer to Magnolia, while Fairy Tail is scattered.

Still, August does put his foot down more, as the General of the 12 stands by his decision to keep Fairy Tail alive long enough to negotiate with His Majesty. Irene believes it to be a waste of time, attempting to kill Mirajane anyway... August stops her (Brandish "heals" Mira by shrinking her wounds) and nearly gets into a clash with Irene right then and there. ... But he doesn't, forcing Irene to take them to the Guildhall instead, where the 12 reunite with Zeref. Technically the 9 of them, since Serena, Bloodman, and Wahl still died.

It goes about as August dreaded. Zeref still wants the Fairy Heart, and he is in no mood to negotiate. Irene, Invel, Dimaria, Neinhart, Jacob, Ajeel, and Larcade still wish to fight. There's not much August and Brandish can do but support them, though August assures Brandish he will do his utmost to spare Fairy Tail as much as possible...

Fairy Tail still comes to save their First Master. Natsu still beats up Neinhart, and while Brandish is annoyed at the conflict with her comrades... She gets it. If Grandpa August is going to spare Fairy Tail, then she will too. She won't bother with a ruse to get Lucy to take her out. This brings Brandish into conflict with Dimaria who's been spying on them, and they wind up taking Dimaria down together without Brandish nearly dying. (人◕ω◕)

... Natsu still ends up falling comatose again, because the Seeds are vying for control within him. Brandish tries to help him, but shrinking that "tumor" didn't seem to help, and Porlyusica confirms that for her. Due to how events shifted, Brandish is a bit more... attached to Natsu, especially after he made sure to keep Dimaria and Neinhart alive. She won't let Lucy have the all-important duty of keeping Natsu warm~... Screw the fact she barely knows the guy. If all she has to do is lay with him and keep him warm... Brandish can do that. Brandish can do the hell out of that. (人◕ω◕)(人◕ω◕)(人◕ω◕) Lucy's put out that she's not allowed to do that herself, but after Brandish threatens to shrink her down to Mari's size... Well, Lucy stopped kicking up a fuss. (人◕ω◕)

When does friendship turn to something more?

Brandish's... love... for Natsu is pretty fast-moving, surprisingly. Chalk it up to the war they're in, and the fact they technically slept together. (人◕ω◕) It wasn't just that, mind. Natsu proved the kind of valiant, honorable man he was. Grandpa August approved of him, and he's a close friend of Lucy's, who Brandish winds up wanting to start fresh with. On top of all that, Natsu has Sir Blue Fluffy. No, Brandish is not going to stop calling him that. (人◕ω◕)

... Although... (人◕ω◕);;; Brandish gets a bit moody with Lucy being close with Natsu. In any capacity. That goes for a ton of the girls in the harem. Brandish might be late to the party, but she's veeery greedy. Part of that has to do with her high rank in Alvarez, used to having things handed to her on a silver platter. If she wants Natsu, she gets him. And if Natsu wants to go out on jobs and adventures...? ... (人◕ω◕);;; Well, Brandish considers expediting the journeys and stopping by gelato stands along the way. You think she won't go along just because it's too troublesome? Shows what you know. Brandish might not like exerting effort, but that active nature is a part of Natsu, and she wouldn't change... much... about him.

... Alright, fine, maybe she'd make him a little more laidback. But honest, Brandi-chan just wants to take vacations. Very long vacations. ......... (人◕ω◕) Yes, there's much time spent in bed with hubby. Don't you judge her. (人◕ω◕)

For Natsu's part... He appreciates Brandish trying to save him several times in the war. And though she won't necessarily betray her homeland, Natsu gets it... He's glad she's loyal, even if that puts them technically at odds. Natsu understands loyalty to one's family, and August might be an intimidating guy but he's not unreasonable like some of the other Spriggans.

After Irene got taken down (not killed), August tried approaching Zeref along with Natsu and Brandish... It didn't go very well because the Curse had pretty much eroded Zeref's mind by this point. But at least August got to meet his mother, and they sort of got closure as a family when Zeref and Mavis passed on... Brandish pleaded with August to help rewrite Natsu's book so that he wouldn't die... And he did so. Because Natsu was family.

Alvarez wasn't in much shape to help defeat Acnologia, but they lent their magical power for the Fairy Sphere spell.

All of that said: there wasn't much that could keep Brandish from defecting to Ishgar (specifically to Fairy Tail). August did try putting his foot down, considering Alvarez lost so many in this war... But he couldn't say no to Brandish, not when it meant he could visit his remaining family more often. Natsu was a bit baffled why Brandish wanted to join FT after everything, but he wasn't about to object. (人◕ω◕) He's a bit too used to affectionate women at this point~... She and Happy get along, and her shrinking and expansion magic is just too fun to play around with. Guild brawls are very exciting with Brandish around. (人◕ω◕)(人◕ω◕)(人◕ω◕)

Juvia and Kagura are shifty-eyed with an "enemy" that's allowed to join up just like that (they're not the only ones)... But, well. Brandish is hardly the only reformed villain around here. The bigger problem is Natsu just allowing Brandish to date him without fuss. Just like that. Her Command T magic is so potent... And did they mention Brandish is too greedy? A real glutton for Natsu. (人◕ω◕) Alas, Natsu clearly loves Brandish deeply... Just like he loves all of them. It's not fair to cut out Brandish when they all have a chance with him... Even if they really want to veto Brandish joining the club. (人◕ω◕)

Kagura is especially grumpy... But that might have to do more with Brandish so casually playing around with Happy. ... Who Kagura also really loves. (人◕ω◕) At least Cana knows Brandish's weakness~... Just get her into a sneezing fit, and Brandish can be subdued. Yes, this is doable. (人◕ω◕)(人◕ω◕)(人◕ω◕)

Natsu is a lucky man to have such conniving, calculating girlfriends... eventual wives. (人◕ω◕)

In the aftermath of the war with Alvarez, Yukino feels her powers are growing too slowly. She sees Lucy use her star dresses and finds a concrete goal to work towards.

Monday's fairy tail verse is gonna be very interesting depending on when I have them join the guild, because if i have them join the guild literally at any point before the alvarez arc, Monday is essentially going to have to be going to war with her home country, or might be viewed as a potential threat on the fiore side of things because alvarez is their homeland.

General

Events in the series that doesn't make sense for my muse will not be acknowledged.

Events that borderline sexualizes my muse or any characters will not be acknowledged. (The GMG Pinup Idol showdown, Larcade incident, etc.)

Perversion/harassment committed against any of the characters that had been easily brushed off in canon will not be accepted here. Erza will not find sexual harassment played for laughs in the series as humorous. For instance, she won't be a passive bystander witnessing Lucy go through this.

Events from the filler arcs will not be acknowledged.

Events from the FT 100 year quest, except the power-ups, will not be acknowledged.

Characterization

In terms of her age, Erza started the series at the age of 19, and then she was 20 by the time they went to Tenrou Island. She turned 21 after the 7 year time-skip, and then 22 after the Fairy Tail Guild disbandment 1 year time-skip. She'd be 23 years old post-Alvarez war.

Erza does have feelings for Jellal, but with how emotionally repressed she is, she does not center herself on it, or on her personal life in general. Here is a detailed post about Jellal and relationships in general.

Story Arcs

During her battle against Azuma in Tenrou Island, the telepathic communication with Jellal motivating her to keep fighting did not happen. However, he was one of the loved ones that she considered as an inspiration to be brave, fueling her determination to win.

The fight with Azuma would also be the time when she finally unlocked her second origin, which would explain why she did not experience any pain during Ultear's casting of second origin release.

Like in the anime, she was not stripped naked while being held hostage in Tartaros.

Erza had gone through a lot of trainings while blindfolded. She is an adept fighter even while deprived of her sight. No, she is not unjustifiably overpowered landing hits on Kyoka. She is well-trained, has good instincts, and is fueled by her willpower to protect her guildmates. And occasionally, spite.

Erza was the one who killed Kyoka. Minerva taking her place to finish her off did not happen.

Tartaros arc was just trauma porn for Erza, and any threads centered around it should be discussed properly. I understand the grief that everyone has in the fandom during this arc. I am pretty open to adjusting to the canon divergence everyone has for their characters in regards to this.

Erza's PTSD resurfaced after the disbandment of the guild. This post detailed what happened to her during this time.

During the 1 year timeskip, with Fairy Tail being disbanded, she had worked with Crime Sorcière. This ties in with @sinshckled's portrayal. There will be a detailed post about this later. This fact is not known to people, except Gray, who she was in contact with, after enlisting him for a job to take down Avatar.

In addition, Erza would not be the type of person to ask Gray to take on this mission, encourage secrecy, and then let him abandon Juvia in the process. I do not agree with the fanon assumption that she'd send him away without any consideration to his current situation.

Erza becomes the 7th Guild Master, and after rescuing Makarov, she does not readily give up that position. They would eventually assign someone else (that's not Makarov) as a guild master. This will be dependent on my writing partner's preference.

Her battles may have been portrayed cool and smooth, but Erza struggles a lot internally. She is traumatized, but she'd sought help and learned how to cope with it.

The kiss with Kagura did not happen.

Erza had a scar from stopping Natsu and Gray's fight in the Alvarez war. She healed from it, but she unfortunately developed carpal tunnel syndrome from it.

In the final episode/chapter, Erza was portrayed as someone who couldn't understand 'big words,' but I'd diverge from that. Erza is well-read, and while she reads smut novels, she also reads books outside of that genre.

This is long, and I don't remember all the specifics. But there might be changes, and I will add more if I remember something. I am pretty open to adjusting and adhering to people's canon divergence if properly discussed.

AU VERSE INFO. THE CLAIM OF THE DEMON

HE HAD LOST IT ALL, ONCE AGAIN NO FAULT OF HIS OWN. it seemed like no matter how hard he tried, he was always bound to loose it all. no matter how hard he fought and loved and tried, it was never going to be enough for the universe. it was never goin to be enough to just be happy. and the worst part of it all, was there truly wasn't anyone he could blame for it all.

There's always someone you can blame, you just need to be willing to blame them.

THE VOICE WAS BOTH ALARMING AND COMFORTING. he didn't know if it has always been there, but he has definitely come to notice it far more after silver's 'gift' to him. it was odd, the way it spoke with such a confidence and reassurance, like it was something gray could trust, something gray could confide in now that the world had turned its back to him. maybe in other instances, he would ignore it, brush it off to the side and hang on to what little he still had, to fight for whatever was remaining.

AVATAR / F!ROGUE TIMELINE AU

Following the events of Tartarous and Fairy Tail's disbandment, Gray found himself lost, in both grief and anger over everything that had happened. He ended up isolating himself, basically vanishing off the face of the earth where no one could find him. It's during this low point where the newly acquired demon ( a 'gift' from silver to help gray master devil slaying magic at a much quicker rate ) begins to pray on Gray's weakened mental state, convincing him to isolate himself further from the guild and those who would care about him.

During that year, Gray becomes more and more reliant on the demon, and by extension, the devil slayer magic. eventually he gets discovered by some members of the Avatar guild, and they bring him in, originally just to use him as a sacrifice for their mission, but upon Gray killing a handful of the low level grunts ( mainly out of self preservation ) , he is extended an offer to join the guild. Gray only accepts as it's a means of getting resources, and unintentionally climbs the ranks, becoming one of their high ranking generals.

Because Gray has seemingly vanished after Fairy Tail's disbandment, there were no leads on his whereabouts when the guild began reforming. The only potential leads were of Crime Sorceries' vague description of a ice mage within a dark guild, but no one could confirm their identity as well.

NOTE: Froche's death will only occur in this verse if planning has occurred. This verse is mainly a look into what possible could have happened before Froche's death, leading to Future Rogue's timeline. ( Also the Events of the Alvarez war and Avatar arc either don't happen or are very altered )

I tried to draw her thicker than other Fairy Tail girls. Idk how well it turned out but she’s a broad-shouldered lady who could break your neck with one hand and obliterate your skull with her thighs 👍 she’s married to Laxus and Erik (Cobra) btw, so her full name is Tsukihime Dragneel-Dreyar.

Over the Seven-Year Tenrou Arc, she and her husbands have four kids--

Beatrix, or Bea, is the oldest, she’s about to turn eight during the GMG.

Juniper and Lilia are the twins, they’re five and a half.

Emrys is the youngest and the only son, about 2 years old.

Laxus did not go to Tenrou in this AU, and Erik was not involved with the Oracion Seis for very long. The Dragon Slayers all live in the same house.

I take existing languages and call them something else in this AU-- like how I use Faroese as the Mythical Dragon Language, Drongur.

I just needed to blow steam, this guild has no real meaning only to feed Mashima's fanservice but even without it there still would be fanservice, huh.

Do all the guilds have meaning or all they to have the Fairy Tail effect, y'know goofy people but it makes no sense considering the characters personality as a whole.

Kind of adorable that you thought I would find any of this valid criticism disturbing. Honestly, I wouldn't even consider it slander cause you're right.

Like ok, you wanna have a guild that's basically just a host club? alright i don't honestly care, this series has made worse decisions, but at least give them something that will make me like them?? Actually from the trimen I think Hibiki is the one that has a bit more going for him? At least from how we saw him helping lucy and the gang in the nirvana arc, I felt he had slightly more personality to stand out from the rest but that still isn't enough to be a full-on character.

Eve is just a twink and Ren has no personality or relevance outside of his relationship with Sherry, which no one cares about and has no importance on any plot so yeah useless, and his "tan"....was a terrible design choice but considering Mashima's obvious racism it isn't surprising.

Jenny is a character I rarely think about because unfortunately she's just one of many female characters that fit into very particular stereotypes which are the only thing mashima knows how to do in fairy tail. I DIDN'T EVEN REMEMBER HER MAGIC AND HAD TO GOOGLE IT. It sounds cool and could've been such a great battle with Mira but noooo we gotta have a fanservice fight that no one asked for.

And Ichiya.....oh how I hate and become disgusted by Ichiya. He's like the "perverted old man" anime character except that I think he harrases Erza in less explicitly sexual ways yet he manages to disturb me even more and I feel people tend to forget that this motherfucker is thirty or close to turning thirty since his first appearance and Erza is only FUCKING 19 AND IT IS IMPLIED THAT HE HAS BEEN HARASSING HER FOR A WHILE NOW???? Society never had a need for him to exist and I wish he had died in the Alvarez war.

Also you didn't mention it but every time I look at master Bob I feel his design and how he's portrayed counts as a hate crime, of course flamboyant and gnc characters aren't necessarily always mocking of queer people but in this case I'm certain mashima just added him to be like "haha 'ugly' man in a dress speaking with an effeminate voice, so funny" and it sucks cause aside from that Bob isn't a terrible person and is actually as rounded in terms of personality as an incidental side character can be.

Please return to my inbox with more guild/character criticism, I particularly want to hear the sabertooth one because although I do love them they don't that much of a chance to shine neither the guildmembers not their collectivity itself and it's a real detriment.

I genuinely haven't decided if I'm going to have Makarov be dead or not in the Alvarez arc.

Because I hate that they brought him back so long after his death because it makes his sacrifice feel so cheap.

And I honestly want someone else to be guild master at this point. Like I would say the three potential best options at the point the series is at would be Erza, Mira or Laxus and I'm going to explain why.

To start with, I do not think pre tenrou Laxus should be guild master. He was an asshole that refused to help his guild in the phantom war unless Lucy slept with him, he attacked one of his own teammates when Freed told him they had lost and while it didn't hit, it was close, beat Gajeel up way worse than Jet and Droy did and likely would have done so until he'd killed Gajeel if Jet and Droy hadn't told him to stop and did try to attack them and he willingly put the entire town in danger so that he wouldn't have to admit he'd lost after Evergreen was beat and have his ego bruises. He was not a good person and needed to be taught a lesson.

However, post Tenrou Laxus is a different story. He's a lot less full of himself and doesn't look down on his guildmates. I honestly would say his fight against Ivan is the completion of that character arc because he fights his own father to defend his guild, putting them above his own blood, something he likely would not have done for anyone aside for the thunder legion pre tenrou. He also in tartarous, takes in far more of the bane particals in hopes of saving the towns people and risks his own life to get Tempestar's blood(in the anime) so that Yajima and the thunder legion could survive.

Laxus, as of 100 years quest, can be considered a good successor for the next guild master because he is more likely to continue the legacy Mavis wanted for the guild.

Mira is also a good option in that she likely knows a lot about the job, being the second in command from how she's always the one people talk to about guild based things if Makarov isn't around. She's also no push over and would probably not let someone like pre tenrou Laxus get away with the things that he did. She's definetly not as strong as she used to, after all she hasn't been consistently fighting for years but I don't think strength is what matters in being guild master. At least not for Fairy tail.

And Erza is an obvious member of the list since she was listed as the 7th guild master so she would make sense to be an option.

But the reason I'm torn with having Makarov die or not is because (without getting into spoilers) I already have a lot of canon divergence planned for the Alvarez arc(something which seems to occur more and more as the arcs go on).

Like I already have the most basic plot beats laid out for the later arcs, its just certain aspects surrounding them that are shifting around as I decide which idea is the best one to pick for those arcs. I've already been putting foreshadowing in the rewrite for a while, some that might be more obvious than others and some I really doubt anyone would think "Oh that's important" when first seeing it (I am not going to mention what aspects are the foreshadowing or when it started because again, spoilers and I am so excited to put the new stuff out once the rewrite is done and I don't want to give too much away for the plans I have)

And while I have no problem going extremely off canon in the au at all, there are just certain things where I'm like "Ok but would this benefit from having Makarov be dead or alive"

I'll probably have the answer once I get to the Alvarez arc in like 5 years (Jokes aside, I don't think it will take me 5 years to get there but this book is going to be long. Its already at 108 chapters with the rewrite putting it over 300 pages in the pdf I keep and I'd say its like halfway done. Because despite there being more arcs pre tenrou than post, I still consider Tenrou the midway point and I have the KOTSH, GMG, Tartarous and Alvaraz arcs to cover once the midway is done and post tenrou, even the canon version of the arcs start getting long.

I also swear I'll have the current arc finished soon. I always just take breaks between arcs just because it takes so long to write them and then the editing is a long process.
