🔔 NEW on the blog: “From Questioning to Calling”
Felt unqualified? Unseen? Unworthy?
You’re in good company.
Gideon questioned his worth—until God reminded him, “I am with you.”
Not because he was perfect, but because he was chosen.
🚫 It’s not about religion.
✅ It’s about relationship.
And that changes everything.
📖 Read how God met me in my doubt and turned it into purpose.

Transform Never Conform
With all the earthly resources in the world, to gather information. Let us be reminded that not all advice is good advice. Diligently seek the truth, but never alone. If you have confessed Jesus as Lord and Saviour, let's be reminded that we have the Comforter, that is the Holy Ghost/Spirit (see John 14:26 KJV).
Those books, documentaries, articles, and podcasts you can't "live without" make sure you search God's Holy Word for direction. That you may discern if it is content from God or Satan. Recently, my music app showed me some podcasts suggestions. I haven't gotten into podcast, but one title grasped my attention. Instead of listening to it, I absentmindedly scrolled through the content. Seeing a few parts that seemed may have been pleasant episodes. Still, not interested in listening. I read the transcript provided by the content creator.
What I read reminded me of the importance of knowing the Word of God. It had been something similar to what I experienced as a young college student. Feeling like an outcast, but my interested change. My hunger to know Jesus shifted in the right direction and certain worldly things I did or said became of no interest. People I had been close with stepped away from me. It was a sad time, but going back wasn't an option. What I read from the transcript notes, the podcast seemed to approve of conforming rather than transforming. It prompted me to be reminded of Romans 12:2 KJV:
And be not conformed to this world: but be ye transformed by the renewing of your mind, that ye may prove what is that good, and acceptable, and perfect, will of God.
Every Christian believer, no matter age, race, or how long you've been on this beautiful journey, has to remember the world will HATE you!!! It is written that such things will happen in John 15: 18-20 KJV. Therefore, even in college, you cannot fall apart when people no longer want to deal with you because you have a relationship with Jesus.
In no way should it make you feel ashamed. Not everyone will understand your commitment to Jesus. They'll think you are being judgemental. But honestly, all you have done was say you don't partake in certain activities because it goes against God's Word. Never allow being set apart to make you feel as though you are becoming "that Christian girl" or "that Christian boy" who neglects fun. No, being high and getting drunk and having sex (fornicating) isn't fun.
Come to grips with the fact you are set apart. Not better than anyone else, you just have learned right from wrong. So choose right—choose life (Deuteronomy 31:19).
Being a "unicorn" is okay on college campuses. It's okay that you don't drink, smoke, do drugs, have sex (fornication), and aren't for the club scenes. There are other people, believing Christians, who will spend time with you. But, do NOT be misinformed, the world will not like you because you chose against it. In no means do you conform in order to be liked, picked, and included. Choose this day who you will serve!! Because it is impossible to serve to masters, for the Bible declares you will love one and hate the other.
Take heed of what you hear and who you are hearing from. Every person who claims to be doing the Lord's work is not! A sure sign of that is that false teachers and believers will go against God's Word. It is imperative that you study, study, study, study (with the aid of the Holy Ghost)!! Know the Word of God, it is the sword!
A part of growing is knowing many of your peers will no longer care for you when you stop drinking, smoking, etc. But you don't conform to the world's standard. You go forward being transformed through the Word of God.
Peace and blessings to you,
-LoveLifter🕊️💕

faithblogging below the cut
one of my 2024 resolutions is to start incorporating faith into my daily and weekly life which also means finding and settling on a congregation and idk I'm struggling with that process. I've settled on the Episcopal Church as being the right place for me theologically and in terms of overall vibes (I'm looking for a more high church congregation and am theologically drawn toward aspects of Catholicism, but the Roman Catholic Church's positions on abortion and LGBTQ rights are dealbreakers for me and as the child of two ex-Mormons I'm very hesitant about getting involved with anything that high-demand and hierarchical. plus I attended an Episcopal Church-affiliated school for 9 years so the rituals are familiar.)
but the thing is that in my massive West Coast metropolis there's a number of congregations near me, of which the following four seem like options:
a fairly large congregation across the street from my university; my spouse and I attended a service here on Easter last year and enjoyed it but it's also in a very wealthy neighborhood and is closely linked with my university for better and for worse
a larger congregation in the downtown area of a nearby independent city; this one seems like it might be a bit more diverse but it's a bit further from where we live
the closest to me and most convenient, located in an upper-middle class neighborhood of mostly single-family homes. seems like it might lean older
a smaller congregation that self-identifies as Anglo-Catholic, located in a diverse neighborhood of mostly apartments and renters that is also fairly close to where we live. parking is more difficult though and it's a bit too far to walk; could maybe take the train there?
while the last one is intriguing, I'm very introverted and I think that I'd like a larger congregation at least at first where I can blend in a bit more and take things at my own pace. but it feels like there's so many issues to consider - I'm married and turning 30 this month so I feel much older than the college-age demographic, but at the same time some of the other congregations seem like they might lean toward older adults, and I also would like a congregation that embraces liberation theology and ideally one that is not overwhelmingly wealthy or white which means maybe #2 or #4 would be good options
anyways idk man this stuff is difficult and I think I just need to get out of my head about it and pick one and try it out

Abba has His arms stretched out waiting for us
Like a father who eagerly awaits his one-year-old taking their first steps to step into his arms to embrace them, Our Father stretches out His arms to embrace us.
Abba is patient and caring and loving more so than any father and He loves us more than any father figure in our world.
Of course He’s eager for us to walk [into His arms] but He knows we’re going to stumble and fall—that’s why He’s right there to help us stand back up.
He is the One teaching us how to walk and guiding us through it. It’s unknown and unsettling—yet exciting but we’ll never be alone.
All we have to do is follow His Voice. And He’ll steady us step by step till we reach the other side where He picks us up in a loving embrace.
He’s a good, good Father from whom endless blessings flow. We could never be in better hands.
