I was sent back to kindergarten even though I’m a senior in college. During snack time I drank apple juice out of a wine glass.

lazy sunday | daisy & nate | 2.19
Daisy was flushed and a little embarrassed as she made her way from the submissive floor up to the Dominant wing without any clothes on at all. She caught more than a dozen sets of eyes on her way, but she maintained her pace and kept her orders in mind. Public nudity wasn’t exactly something a distinguished lady like Daisy typically condoned, but before her morals came her obligation as a submission, and her devotion to the system. Nate was a Dominant that she was always eager to serve. If he wanted her to walk across town in the nude, she was fairly certain she’d do it without complaint. She was relieved when she arrived at Nate’s suite and all too eager to get inside so that the view she provided was his alone. Covering her large tits, Daisy settled onto her knees and knocked, internally counting the seconds it took for Nate to answer the door and let her in. @dom-i-nate

Barbara tried to suck in air as she sat up in their bed, her hands instinctively reaching for Dick beside her. Her legs couldn’t help her anymore to curl closer to him, but her upper body strength since she’d been shot helped her get to him. She sobbed into Dick’s chest. “I just want to stop re-living it over and over.”

For dinner I made butternut squash soup for the first time and it’s gone over quite well in the household, so now I’m sitting down after the 2.5hrs cooking spree to jot down what I did.
Trouble is, I was playing fast and loose with my spices and the numerous recipes + “bsquash soup ideas?” threads I was tabbing between while cooking, so I’m left writing useful notes such as:
light cream (dumped all we had left into pot. Prolly <1/2 cup? 1/3rd? Normally made with heavy cream)
list of spices (You’re on your own for measurements. Just don’t be stingy. Remember; pinch of salt to pasta water salts jack squat.)
1.5. sweet potatoes (only because I dropped remaining .5)
PAPER-THIN LEEK CHOPS WILL CHAR DURING ROAST (You knew that and proceeded anyway. Turned out okay, though?!)
Meanwhile put large pot on stove and mince more. Remember you have fresh ginger and start peeling/chop-mincing that. Try shredding ginger only to revert to knife. Decide at least 15 minutes in to use an apple after all (even though all you have are red ones), rinse/peel/slice, toss them into baking dish around 20minutes w/rougher chopped ginger, bit more olive oil).
Acknowledge how the thinnest leek chops are charring in dish. Put dish back in oven and hope for best. (Wait, was it at this point I tentatively squeezed half a lemon over dish? Also, later, a few minutes before 40mins were up, did I half-heartedly add a bit of water to the dish?)
Hey, future me, remember how prior to beginning dinner prep, we (re)discovered that a blender has been available in the house since forever? Wild, right?
Meanwhile, rinse squash seeds and spread w/pumpkin seeds in emptied dish. Put dish in oven. Forget until hear concerning snap-pops. Hastily remove.
The consistency was decently thick and smooth, albeit not 100% silky likely because I didn’t purée it to France and back (was afraid appliance overuse would cause house fire—remember flames in outlet with the tm?).
Rest assured that I know full well that butternut squash soup shouldn’t take 2.5 hours to make. At least the finished result somehow managed to be worth it.

So I’ve seen a lot of takes on what Homestuck, at its core, is a story about. And the thing is, although they’re different, no one’s been exactly wrong either.
So, here’s my question: what do you think Homestuck is a story about?

February 19th, 2023
I was pretty productive this week. I have been doing workshops to prepare for the career fair next week. It was also valentines day week and I ended up being able to spend more time with my boyfriend than initially planned. I've been able to get a lot more work done at his place while he's at work then I would elsewhere because it's quiet and there's consistent access to free food. My dorm doesn't have a kitchen so that is in fact a huge deal.
On top of that I have been doing my usual homework, studying, and job applications. 2 tests, labs, quizzes, you know the drill. Fingers crossed for an internship at NASA!

"Two wild kiwi chicks were born near Wellington, New Zealand, about a year after a reintroduction program began in the city, the Capital Kiwi Project announced last week. The fluffy, brown babies are the first to be born near the country’s capital in at least 150 years.
“This is very special for the team, which has been working hard for the last few years,” project founder Paul Ward tells the Agence France-Presse. The chicks are a “massive milestone for our goal of building a wild population of kiwi on Wellington’s back doorstep.”
These flightless, chicken-sized birds were once abundant across New Zealand, with the nation’s five species numbering an estimated 12 million individuals in total. But nonnative predators and habitat loss caused their populations to plummet. Today, approximately 68,000 kiwis remain....
Conservation and reintroduction programs, including the Capital Kiwi Project, have been working to restore a large-scale wild kiwi population for years. In 2022, the organization released 11 kiwis into the wild in Makara, a suburb about seven miles west of Wellington. Between February and May of 2023, another 52 birds were released, and 200 more are slated to be released over the next five years, reports Eva Corlett for the Guardian.
Along with reintroduction efforts, the project aimed to reduce threats from European stoats, also known as ermines. The mammals were brought to New Zealand in the 19th century in an attempt to eradicate another introduced creature: rabbits. But these weasel-like stoats are voracious predators and kill many of New Zealand’s native species, including kiwi chicks. Only about 5 percent of kiwi chicks survive to reach breeding age in areas where predators are not controlled, largely thanks to stoats. In areas under management, however, 50 to 60 percent survive. Knowing this, conservationists worked with 100 landowners across the bird’s 60,000-acre habitat to install 4,600 stoat traps.
Of the 63 adult kiwis now roaming the hilly farmlands of Makara, only about a quarter are being monitored—meaning more chicks will likely hatch in the near future. Conservationists will continue monitoring the two new chicks, though Ward tells the Guardian they still have a long way to go before they’re fully grown...
Over the years, the long-beaked birds have become a national symbol of New Zealand, with people who hail from the country often referred to as kiwis. The animals also hold special importance to the Māori people of New Zealand, who have cultural, spiritual and historic associations with the birds. Even the New Zealand dollar is sometimes referred to as the kiwi, and the bird is featured on the country’s dollar coin."

“The Eleventh Edition is the definitive edition,” he said. “We’re getting the language into its final shape—the shape it’s going to have when nobody speaks anything else. When we’ve finished with it, people like you will have to learn it all over again. You think, I dare say, that our chief job is inventing new words. But not a bit of it! We’re destroying words—scores of them, hundreds of them, every day. We’re cutting the language down to the bone. The Eleventh Edition won’t contain a single word that will become obsolete before the year 2050.”
