Why I think Eddie Diaz is autistic !
(As an autistic individual)
- Struggle with emotional expression:
He often struggles to express emotions, particularly in his relationship with women, (look at the way he acted with Sharon, Ana and Marisol, never communicating clearly, or doing it VERY straightforwardly (-> “you should go”)
He struggle with articulating his feelings, to name his emotions and process them (seemingly alexithymia) and he close off a lot, even with his therapist !
- Literal Thinking:
He tend to interpret language literally, (interactions with his colleagues and fast problem-solving, keeping a cool head under very stressful situations, the way he react to jokes, the way he doesn’t believe and ‘judge’ the way they fear superstitions, only believing what he can prove)
It seems to me like he experiences challenges with understanding figurative language or sarcasm and only believe what is proven, he’s very closed off about the idea of superstition which can be seen in some autistic people who struggle with theses concept
And he can be really straightforward (see the “you should go home Ana” or the “last time he wore that was at his mom’s funeral”) -> stating facts straightforwardly without processing it first and without realizing how stating it like that can be ‘awkward’ to others
- Meltdowns and Coping Mechanisms:
He experiences moments of intense frustration and resorts to unhealthy coping mechanisms (-> fights and destroying his room, hurting himself and other in the process (as in a lot of autistic meltdown and the way a lot of us turn to violent coping mechanisms to fight against sensory overload and the complexity of understanding our own emotions -> resorting to violence)
He parallels experiences of sensory overload and regulation, also his panic attacks and the way he avoid addressing his trauma and feelings by brushing it off and ignoring his own mental health, struggling to understand his own feelings about what he’s experiencing
- Difficulty with Trauma and Normalcy:
His reluctance to address trauma and persistent efforts to appear "normal."
It reflects challenges faced by autistic ppl in processing traumatic experiences and blending in with neurotypical society (force conformism and such)
There’s something about the way he and his father approach emotions, keeping it hidden and close off, that resonates a lot with my own experiences as someone autistic raised by someone who’s (probably) autistic too ‼️
+ the way he quickly connect with Buck exemplifies the ‘neurodivergent link’ : ADHD and autism solidarity is a reality ! Neurodivergent people tend to feel more secure, comfortable and friendly with other neurodivergent individuals!!
He basically just give such a autistic energy, like- I really connect with his struggle and the way he interact with the world around him, but please tell me what YOU think 🫶‼️
To have a better view of this part of him we would need more of his pov, sadly we rarely get it so I’m basing this of what I remember, what I personally see in him, what I connected with :’D
(Keep in mind that I probably projecting and it’s just an headcanon, not hate please <3 constructive criticism is welcome tho !!)

I’m not done with Blank Slate Ch. 4 just yet - hopefully soon! - but this lineup stands out to me especially since I made it while rereading Handplates. Specifically after Gaster is pulled out of the Void - Gaster having to face the people he loves who have no memory of him really spoke to me in a Blank Slate way - the scenario of being able to completely start over and have never done anything to hurt your loved ones, at the expense of never having done anything to them, as far as they’re concerned, ah! It hurts so beautifully!! That’s one of the central themes I’m chasing so it was so cool to see in that context! Very inspiring ♥

Y/N POV…
The morning light began to filter through the windows, warming the room as I slowly stretched, feeling the remnants of yesterday’s excitement linger in my muscles. As I turned to my right, I noticed the sheets were a bit disheveled, hinting that someone had shared my bed. Which was strange since I came to my room alone.
I slid out of bed and made my way to the mirror. As I undid Sanji’s shirt and began to remove my bandages, I examined the progress of my injuries. My left arm had healed nicely, with the gash reduced to a small scar. My chest, once marred by Monet's attack, was now smooth and healed. The bite marks on my right thigh had faded, leaving only some bruising—a small price for the healing process.
After tending to my wounds, I gathered my essentials and took a refreshing morning bath. The warm water eased the tension from my body, preparing me for the day ahead. Once I was done, I returned to my room and noticed a small white box placed neatly on my dresser. Curious, I opened it to find a delicate heart-shaped pendant nestled inside.
“Now, who could have given me such a thoughtful gift?” I wondered aloud.
Inside the box was a note that read: “You truly do have my heart, and here’s a little something to always remember me by. Love, Law.” My heart fluttered at the sweet sentiment.
“This is such a sweet gift,” I murmured, touched by the gesture. I decided to wear the necklace, letting the heart-shaped pendant rest gently on my chest.
With the necklace in place, I chose a simple outfit and grabbed my sword. The sun was shining brightly as I stepped out onto the deck, ready to embrace the new day.
As I descended the steps, I heard the familiar sound of news coo birds fluttering over the ship, dropping the latest headlines. I made my way toward the deck, where Sanji was already waiting. He spotted me first and greeted me with his usual charm.
"Oh Y/N, my dear, you're looking radiant as always!" Sanji said, his eyes sparkling with admiration.
“Thank you, Sanji. You don’t look too bad yourself,” I replied with a playful wink.
We walked over to the newspaper, which had already been laid out for us. The headlines were bold and dramatic, capturing our attention immediately.
"Donquixote Doflamingo resigns as one of the Seven Warlords."
My eyes widened in surprise. "He actually did it," I thought, feeling a mix of astonishment and curiosity. Law seized the transponder snail, and the crew gathered around, their faces etched with concern.
“I resigned,” came Doflamingo’s voice, his tone dripping with nonchalance.
“He picked up!” Brook’s eyes widened.
“Finally!” Chopper exclaimed, his voice full of relief.
“Now what?” Usopp asked, his anxiety palpable.
“Mingo? Woah!” Luffy said, grabbing the snail with his usual enthusiasm.
Despite Usopp’s urgent shushing, Luffy, ever the rebel, snatched the snail from Law’s hand. “Hello?! This is Monkey D. Luffy, and I’m going to be King of the Pirates!” he declared proudly.
I slapped my forehead in frustration, my patience wearing thin. “Luffy?!” I whispered-yelled, hoping to salvage the situation.
Usopp’s frustration was evident as he thumped Luffy on the head. “Damn it! You do this every time!”
Luffy, undeterred, continued, “Hey! Mingo, are you Caesar’s boss? Because that guy really sucks!” He went on, “He did bad stuff to kids! We’ll give him back because that’s what we promised, but if he does that again, we’ll kick his ass twice as hard, and yours too!”
Doflamingo’s voice remained darkly calm as he continued, “I’ve been quite eager to see you,  I have something that will interest you. Something you’ll want very badly, I’m quite certain.”
“Something I want? Like what? Meat?” Luffy asked, his focus still drifting. I rolled my eyes, irritated by his distraction.
“This isn’t the time to be thinking about meat!” I said sharply.
Doflamingo chuckled, his amusement chilling. “My second question: Is Y/N there with you?”
Law and Sanji’s voices cut in immediately. “She’s not part of this!” Law snapped. “You won’t lay a single finger on her!”
Sanji echoed Law’s anger, “Stay away from her, Doflamingo!”
Ignoring their protests, I took a step closer to the transponder snail, determined to handle this myself. “So, Doflamingo, why the sudden interest? Last time I checked, you weren’t exactly on my radar.”
Doflamingo’s laugh was smooth, almost seductive. “Ah, Princess, it’s delightful to hear a voice attached to the name. When Vergo spoke of how feisty you are and how attractive he found you, I couldn’t resist finding out more for myself. And I must say, your wanted poster is quite the catch.”
I raised an eyebrow, trying to mask my unease with bravado. “So, what exactly do you want? You think you can intimidate me with your games?”
Doflamingo’s voice turned darker, dripping with menace and intrigue. “It’s not just about games, Princess. It’s about the thrill of the chase. It’s about seeing someone who thinks they’re untouchable brought to their knees. And I must admit, the idea of breaking someone as captivating as you is irresistibly tempting.”
I could feel the weight of his words, each one designed to unsettle and provoke. “Is that so? And what makes you think you can handle someone like me? You’re just another threat I’ll deal with.”
Doflamingo’s tone became more dangerous, his interest clearly piqued. “Oh, I’m not just any threat. I’m someone who takes pleasure in seeing how far I can push. And from what I’ve heard, you’re exactly the kind of challenge I enjoy. The kind that makes it all the more rewarding to conquer.”
I squared my shoulders, trying to stay composed despite the unease. “You think you know me, but you don’t. I’m not easily broken, Doflamingo. If you think you can make me submit, you’re sorely mistaken.”
Doflamingo’s voice took on a darker, more taunting tone. “Is that so, Princess? I’ve heard from others that you’re quite stubborn. I like that in a woman. It makes the eventual submission all the more satisfying. And I have no doubt you’ll be just as intriguing in person as you are in stories.”
I met his gaze through the transponder snail, feeling the weight of his dark promise. “Keep dreaming, Doflamingo. I’m not going to be your toy. If you want to mess with me, you’re in for a rough ride.”
Doflamingo’s smirk was audible in his voice. “Oh, I’m counting on it. And when the time comes, Princess, I’ll be waiting. Until then, enjoy your little adventure. I’ll be watching.” 
Before I could respond, Law yanked the transponder snail from my hand, his expression a fierce mix of anger and frustration. “Cut the crap! She’s not part of this!”
Doflamingo’s laugh was a chilling sound. “It’s for your own good as much as mine. We both know what will happen if you try to run away with Caesar. It won’t end well for anyone, though it would be quite entertaining if I could take Y/N from you.”
Law’s eyes flared with fury. 
“I want to speak with my business partner now. I need to confirm he’s unharmed.”Doflamingo’s voice took on a mocking tone. 
“Ah, so you care about your partner after all. How touching.” said Law. 
As Caesar moved closer to the transponder snail, I clenched my right fist and subtly connected it with my left palm, feeling electricity crackling at my fingertips. “Oh, Joker, I’m so very sorry. You resigned from the Warlords, all because of…”
Law cuts in. “He’s fine, don’t worry. We’ll meet eight hours from now. The island just north of Dressrosa, on a beach on the southeast side of Greenbit. We’ll have Caesar waiting for you at three in the afternoon. Pick him up, and this little game will be over.”
Doflamingo’s voice turned sultry as he added, “Don’t say that. I wish we could sit down for a drink. Although my mind keeps drifting back to a certain someone.”
I decided to take matters into my own hands. I made my way toward Caesar, who was visibly tense and apprehensive. “Hey, Joker, here’s a little something for you.”
I unleashed a bolt of electricity directly at Caesar. His scream of pain reverberated through the transponder snail, cutting through the tension in the room.
Luffy, noticing the situation escalating, shouted at Law. “Hang up! Now!”
With that, Law hung up on the transponder snail. My breathing was ragged, my heart pounding in my chest as the rage I felt still coursed through me. The room was tense, the weight of the situation pressing down on us.
Luffy broke the silence first, his voice a mix of embarrassment and deflection. “Sorry guys, he almost had me wrapped up in his meat spell.”
I couldn’t help but chuckle lowly at Luffy’s comment. “Yeah, you think?” I said, trying to lighten the mood.
Usopp and Chopper looked confused. “We have bigger issues now!” Sanji interjected, his voice urgent as he made his way toward me. “Also, he didn’t specify how many we should bring to the meeting spot.”
“I don’t get it?” Chopper asked.
“Come on, Doflamingo is a big shot,” Sanji explained, rubbing my back in an attempt to calm me down. “If he brings a whole army to the meeting point, then we’re screwed.”
“Ohh, I see now,” Usopp said, his face showing concern.
Law, still standing next to me, finally spoke. “No, it’s fine. Don’t worry. Handing over Caesar is just a distraction. If he draws more of his resources, it might actually benefit us.”
I took a deep breath, trying to steady myself. I turned to Sanji, feeling grateful for his support. “Thank you, Sanji, for calming me down.”
Sanji placed a firm hand on my cheek, and I leaned into his touch. “No problem, Y/N,” he said softly, his gaze lingering on me. “Although... you angry is very sexy!”
“Focus, curly brows, now’s not the time!” Zoro interjected, his voice cutting through the moment. His stern look made everyone chuckle, easing some of the tension in the room.
Law sighed, trying to gather his thoughts. “Unfortunately, I have intel on everything but the factory. We need to figure out how to deal with that.”
“No surprise there,” Nami said, shaking her head. “The SMILE factory is their biggest asset. It’s not going to be easy to take down.”
“We might need to think outside the box,” Nami suggested.
Just then, Kinemon stepped forward, concern etched on his face. “Are we still docking in Dressrosa?”
Both Kinemon and Momo looked relieved when Law confirmed that we were indeed heading there.
“Traffy, have you ever been to Dressnona?” Luffy asked, his excitement bubbling over. “What’s it like?”
“Dressrosa,” Law corrected, his frustration evident. “And no, I’ve never been. Doflamingo controls the place.”
“Not a problem!” Luffy declared confidently. “We’ll just make it up as we go. I bet Doflamingo’s kingdom is going to be crazy! After that, we should swing by Wano!”
The crew shared a collective grin, Luffy’s enthusiasm clearly infectious.
“Just making it up as we go? If we’re going in blind, we need a plan!” Law said, his tone serious.
“Ohhh, sandwiches! Did you make my favorite ones?” I asked, heading towards the kitchen.
“Actually, I did. I made them just for you,” Sanji said with a proud smile, his eyes practically sparkling. He added with a swoon in his voice, “I went all out, just for you, Y/N.”
“Aww, thank you, Sanji!” I said, wrapping him in a warm hug. “You’re the best!”
Sanji’s cheeks flushed slightly as he basked in the appreciation, his swooning smile growing wider.
“I’ll have tea,” Robin said, following us up the stairs.
“Sanji’s sandwiches are the best!” Nami added, also heading up the stairs.
Law watched the crew with a mix of disbelief and exasperation. “Sorry, but I don’t like bread,” he said, shaking his head.
Law, still bemused, followed us up the stairs, trying to adjust to the crew’s chaotic charm and unorthodox methods. 
Minutes later, we were all seated around the table. Robin and Franky were lounging comfortably on the sofa across from us, while Brook sat behind.
I took a bite of one of Sanji’s sandwiches and let out a contented sigh. “Sanji, these sandwiches are absolutely delicious. They’re my favorite!”
Sanji beamed with pride. “Anything for you, my darling!” He leaned in closer, eyes sparkling with adoration.
Chopper, noticing the necklace around my neck, tilted his head. “Hey, Y/N, that necklace is really pretty!”
“Thanks, Chopper,” I said, adjusting the heart-shaped pendant. “It’s a small heart.”
Brook’s curiosity got the better of him. “Yoohoohoo! That necklace is lovely. Who gave it to you?”
“Actually, it was Law,” I said, glancing over at him.
“I came back from my shower and there it was, a white box on my dresser. Inside was this heart-shaped necklace and a sweet note.”
Law, casually eating his rice cake, smirked. “Bepo had the idea. When I picked out those flowers back in Sabaody, he thought adding a necklace would be a nice touch. But I decided to hold onto it… didn’t want it getting lost in the chaos.”
I smiled softly. “Well, it was a very nice touch, Law. Thank you for that.”
Law’s smirk widened. “Not a problem, Princess. There are plenty more surprises where that came from.”
Sanji’s eyebrow twitched as he overheard, and he quickly jumped into the conversation. “Plenty more surprises, huh? Tch, I doubt anything you do could ever match the kind of romantic gestures I have in mind! A necklace is just the start, but real affection is shown with more thoughtfulness!”
Law leaned back in his chair, still smirking, completely unfazed. "Like I said, curly-brows, a simple gesture can go a long way. No need to overcomplicate things."
Sanji shot him an irritated glare, clenching his fist. "Simple gesture? You're lucky Y/N appreciates it, but don’t think for a second that it’s enough! A necklace is just a shiny thing. I put my heart and soul into everything I do for her! It's called dedication!"
Law lazily raised an eyebrow. "Yeah, because a sandwich really screams ‘dedication.’"
Sanji slammed the table again, leaning forward, nearly nose-to-nose with Law. "It’s not just about the food! It’s about care, effort, and attention to detail—something you wouldn’t understand, Mr. Cool and Detached."
Law smirked, glancing at me. "Seems like she’s still wearing the necklace though, right? Must’ve done something right."
Sanji scoffed, crossing his arms. "Just wait. My next meal will blow your little trinket out of the water. You won’t stand a chance, Trafalgar."
Law chuckled softly. "Good luck with that, Ero-cook."
I shook my head, laughing. "You two are impossible! I appreciate both the necklace and the meals. Can we just enjoy the sandwiches without any more bickering?"
Sanji sighed dramatically but winked at me. "Anything for you, Y/N."
Law, still smirking, took another bite of his rice cake. "Looks like I win this round." 
Kinemon began talking about his destination. "Zou?" Law questioned.
"Do you know of it, Sir Law?" Kinemon asked.
"That’s quite convenient. Once we hand over Caesar and destroy the SMILE factory, Zou is my next stop," Law said, casually helping himself to more of Sanji’s rice balls.
"Is that true?!" Kinemon stood in surprise.
"Yeah… my crew is there, waiting," Law replied calmly.
"You must miss them dearly," I said, reaching over to grab his hand. "And I bet Bepo will be thrilled to see you."
Law smirked, "Actually, Bepo wouldn’t stop talking about you, Y/N. He even asked me to give you a hug on his behalf."
I chuckled. "Did he now?"
"Yeah," Law continued, a mischievous glint in his eye. "So, in the spirit of fulfilling his request…" He casually wrapped an arm around my shoulders, pulling me against his chest.
Sanji’s face instantly soured. "HEY!! Hands off, Trafalgar! That’s not a ‘Bepo hug!’”
Law raised an eyebrow, completely unfazed. "I’m just delivering a message from my crewmate. Bepo sends his love."
"Love?!" Sanji shouted, veins practically popping out of his forehead. "Bepo might’ve said hug, but this is too much! Let go of Y/N!"
"Jealous much, curly brow?" Law teased, tightening his grip just slightly to irk Sanji more.
Sanji was now fuming. "You bastard, you don’t even know how to properly express affection! I’ll show you what a real man does!"
"You're more than welcome to try, but good luck outdoing a captain," Law said coolly, clearly enjoying the standoff.  Just as I was about to pull away from the 'Bepo Hug,' Kinemon, seemingly unfazed by the tension, asked, "Is it alright if I accompany you after your current mission, Sir Law?"
"Me too! Let’s all go to Wano! That’ll be cool!" Luffy chimed in, his mouth full of sandwiches.
"Enough!" Law snapped, banging one hand on the table, while the other remained firmly securing me in place. The sudden intensity made everyone pause for a moment.
"Oh, thank you, Sir Law!" Kinemon bowed gratefully, then turned to thank Luffy, followed by a bow from Momo as well.
Kinemon began sharing the story of his friend Kanjuro, explaining how Kanjuro had sacrificed himself so that Kinemon could escape and protect Momo. As he spoke, Franky and Chopper were moved to tears.
"You're a real bro, Kanjuro!" Franky cried out, his eyes watering.
"Kanjuro!" Chopper echoed, sniffling.
"Alright, we'll help you save him!" Luffy declared, his usual enthusiasm unshaken.
This only served to annoy Law even more. He released me gently, his patience wearing thin. "That's enough! Stay focused and stick to our plan!" he yelled at Luffy, his frustration evident.
But instead of calming down, the situation escalated as Franky, Chopper, and Luffy all yelled out, "KANJURO!!" in unison, their voices echoing through the room.
Law pinched the bridge of his nose, clearly realizing that he was fighting a losing battle against the chaotic energy of the crew.
Hours passed, and we found ourselves outside on the deck, enjoying the calm waters and the rare moment of peace.
The sun hung lazily in the sky as the ocean breeze washed over us, and for a brief time, even the most excitable members of the crew seemed to relax. Robin, who had been gazing out at the horizon, broke the silence. "We’re getting closer to land," she said calmly, a hint of intrigue in her voice.
Everyone turned to look, and sure enough, the silhouette of an island began to take shape against the azure sky. 
Finally, Dressrosa!" Luffy shouted, practically bouncing with excitement. “Hope your ready for us Mingo!. 
.
.
We finally docked on the edge of the island, taking care to stay hidden from any potential threats. Luffy, brimming with excitement, was the first to leap off the ship. “Dressrosa! Let’s party!” he yelled, causing Usopp to quickly shush him. “Keep it down, Luffy! We’re deep in enemy territory!”
One by one, the crew disembarked. Just as Law was about to address the group, Luffy bounded over to Momo. “Momo! Fly me straight into town!” he demanded with unrestrained enthusiasm.
Momo, in his dragon form, looked exasperated. “I can’t carry you, Luffy! I can’t fly!” Momo retorted. The two soon began a bickering match that had the crew watching in disbelief.
“What the hell are those morons doing?” Sanji asked, standing next to me with an incredulous expression.
“Luffy… he’s only a kid,” Brook said, placing his tea cup down with a sigh.
Kinemon stepped in to break up the commotion. “Enough, Momonosuke! We owe him our lives!”
“Sir Luffy, please forgive him. He is a Samurai, but he is still young and lacks restraint,” Kinemon added, trying to calm the distressed Momo.
Momo shuffled over to me, seeking comfort. “Aww, Momo, it’s okay,” I said, giving him a reassuring hug. “Why is he picking on me?” Momo sobbed.
“It’s okay, Momo. You’re fine,” I reassured him.
“No, you don’t! Get off of her!” Law, Sanji, and Kinemon all shouted in unison.
“What’s their problem?” I asked, looking around in confusion.
“I don’t know,” Nami replied, equally puzzled.
“Aha, like father like son. You samurai are a bunch of hotheads, aren’t you?” Law quipped at Kinemon.
“Where I come from, if you want to be held, you ask politely!” Sanji added, irritation clear in his tone.
Kinemon blushed at the remarks and said, “Mind your tongue. We need to wear disguises to avoid standing out.”
“If that’s the case, I’ll have to leave my sword behind, or it’ll attract too much attention,” I said, heading back to the ship. I left my sword near the bed and grabbed the two smaller blade weapons King had given me from my backpack. “You may be small, but boy, do you do damage,” I muttered, recalling our training sessions. I also picked up the thigh halter to conceal the weapons.
When I returned to the crew, Zoro noticed the change. “Why’d you leave your sword behind?” he asked.
“I can’t carry it with me since it’ll draw too much attention,” I explained. “So, I brought these new weapons King gave me instead.” I lifted a bit of my skirt to show him where I had hidden them.
Zoro’s eyes lingered on the concealed weapons for a moment before meeting my gaze. “Nice setup,” he said with a smirk. “Those will definitely come in handy. And I must say, you look pretty capable with those tucked away. Makes me glad to have you around.”
His flirtatious tone made me blush slightly. “Thanks, Zoro. I appreciate it,” I replied, trying to hide my smile.
Zoro leaned in a bit closer, his gaze focused on me. “You know,” he said with a teasing edge, “I always thought swords were impressive, but seeing you handle those smaller weapons with such confidence is pretty attractive too.”
I felt my cheeks warm at his comment. “Well, I have to be versatile,” I said, trying to keep my tone light.
Zoro grinned, his eyes twinkling with mischief. “Looks like you’ve got everything under control,” he said, his tone light. Before Zoro could continue, Kinemon began explaining the disguise situation.  
“The men wear suits, and the women wear as little as possible,” Kinemon said, holding up a sketch. “In Dressrosa, fashion is crucial for women. Allow me to create appropriate disguises so we can blend in.”
Sanji’s eyes sparkled with interest. “Wow! I think I’m going to like Dressrosa,” he said, swooning.
“Me too!” Brook agreed, equally excited.
Nami rolled her eyes and thumped all three of them on the head. “Give it a rest!” she commanded, as the three groaned in pain.
Law then approached Nami and handed her a Vivre Card, which was meant to guide them to Zou. “If anything happens to us in Dressrosa, head there,” he instructed.
Nami and I exchanged surprised glances. “Wait a minute…” I began. As Law finished giving Nami the vivre card and laying out the plan, the crew began to process what he said.
“The Sunny’s security team will act as decoys,” Law explained.
“Wait! What?!” Chopper exclaimed, his eyes wide with panic. “Does this mean we have to fight?”
“I thought we wouldn’t do anything,” Brook whined, his voice filled with dread.
“So… does this mean we are in enemy territory?” Momo asked cautiously, his brow furrowing as he looked around, trying to gauge the gravity of the situation.
“But don’t worry, guys! We have Sanji!” Chopper said with a sudden burst of optimism, lifting his little hooves in confidence. Everyone turned to look at where Sanji was supposed to be standing, only to realize he wasn’t there.
“Wait, where did he go?!” Chopper asked, his voice rising in panic once again as he looked around frantically for Sanji.
Law sighed in exasperation, clearly losing patience with the crew’s scattered focus.
Law continued, pulling out a map and pointing to various locations. “Here’s where Doflamingo’s palace is. The SMILE factory could be anywhere. Just lay low and ask around. My team will handle Caesar and pass through Dressrosa until we reach the northern shore. From there, we’ll cross a long bridge to the island of Greenbit.”
“Why not take the ship?” Usopp asked, puzzled.
Law sighed. “I was told we couldn’t do that.”
Robin and I exchanged a knowing look. “Fine, sounds like fun,” I said.
“Wait, Y/N, you’re not going. It’s too risky,” Law said firmly.
“I’m going, Law, whether you like it or not,” I said resolutely.
“Come with us, Y/N, it’ll be fun!” Luffy chimed in, offering me a bright smile.
I turned to Law, my eyes softening. “She’ll be more at risk!” Law argued, his voice tinged with concern.
“Law, whether I stay or go, I’m still one of Doflamingo’s targets,” I said, meeting his gaze. “Being with Luffy’s team is the safest option for me. Besides, Luffy’s group is less likely to attract unwanted attention.”
Law’s frustration was palpable, but his expression softened as he stared at me. With a deep sigh, he pulled me into a fierce embrace, his arms wrapping around me protectively. The intensity of his grip and the warmth of his body conveyed a depth of emotion that words couldn’t fully express.
“Just stay close,” Law murmured into my hair, his voice low and fervent. “I don’t know what I’d do if anything happened to you.”
I hugged him back, feeling my heart race. “I’ll stay close, Law. I promise.”
He tightened his embrace slightly, his hands resting on my back with an almost desperate need to keep me safe. His breath was warm against my neck, and I could sense the depth of his concern.
“Alright,” Law said softly, pulling away just enough to look into my eyes. “But remember, if things get dangerous, don’t hesitate to back off. I don’t want to lose you.”
I gave him a reassuring smile. “I won’t let that happen. We’ll face this together.”
Law’s stern demeanor melted into a mixture of frustration and affection. He leaned in closer, his lips brushing my ear as he whispered, “You know, if you keep making me worry like this, I might have to come up with a few more ways to keep you safe.”
I couldn’t help but smile at his flirtatious remark. “I’ll keep that in mind,” I replied, my voice warm with amusement. “But for now, let’s focus on the mission.”
Law’s gaze lingered on me for a moment longer before he released me from his embrace. “Fine,” he said, a small smile playing at the corners of his mouth. “Just stay alert. We’re not out of the woods yet.”
As I turned to join Luffy’s team and we made our way toward Dressrosa, I felt Law’s intense gaze still fixed on me. His eyes were filled with a mix of concern and something softer, a quiet determination that seemed to underscore his feelings for me. The weight of his gaze made me feel both reassured and determined to carry out the mission.
“Please be careful, Princess,” Law called out, his voice carrying a tone of genuine worry. The nickname felt both endearing and significant, a reminder of the depth of his feelings.
I turned back to catch his eye one last time, giving him a warm, reassuring smile. “I will,” I promised, feeling the warmth of his gaze even as I walked away.

I find it so funny that Ceroba has to literally stop Clover from eating Gunpowder (Idk where they'd get Acid from tho lol) while Kanako was just confused by this strange human who her Mom says has a monster soul's behavior. But she guesses everyone's quirky in their... own unique way.
Ceroba, Starlo, Martlet, and the others will protect them as their own, because Clover has made an impact with those they meet. Royal Guard and Asgore be damned, killing Clover would be like killing a monster child.

Game Feel and How It Can Make or Break an Experience

What's up. I'm Jimmy, also known as JCJimmy, also known as "shitty Ridley", also known as yet another douchebag on the internet.
Things I hate about the essays I see online: meandering, summarizing, and barely-supported theses. It's my goal with this blog to avoid these pitfalls, or may God or Allah or whoever strike me down with a flaming, nuclear anvil like the proverbial Looney Tune I am.
With that out of the way, today I want to talk about "game feel", and particularly how it can strongly affect one's ability to enjoy games regardless of their other qualities.
Let's start from the top: what the fuck does "game feel" even mean? Video games are usually on screens, right? Is game feel the sensation of a cold, Dorito-smeared screen against your equally-smeared hands? No. Is it the Dorito-smeared controller in your hands? Partially, but also no. Believe it or not, what I call "game feel" has nothing to do with Doritos at all!
When I say "game feel", I'm actually talking about a few different things — all bunched together like three kids in a trench coat. The elements of game feel are "controls", "pacing", and "feedback". Let's explore each of these one at a time, starting with controls.
So obviously, what makes video games stand apart from movies is that you have the ability to play them — to control them, interact with them, influence the events within to produce various outcomes. A movie will always go through the same series of scenes at the exact same pace, every single time. Video games are the exact opposite: there are infinitely many ways that they can play out depending on the unique series of command any given player inputs. That's the core of games as a whole, even beyond the digital realm. What you do matters.
But games are as varied as the people who play them, and every game controls differently, has different ways for you to interface with them. In Pong, for instance, you can only move your paddle up and down, and that movement is instantaneous the millisecond you move your joystick. Then you have something like the original Super Mario Bros. Compared to the titles that came after it, the very first Mario is ludicrously simple; yet compared to Pong, it might as well be a leap into a new dimension. Pressing the arrows on the D-pad doesn't just move Mario any which way instantly. First of all, you can only move left and right; vertical movement is controlled by the jump button. Beyond that, unlike in Pong, Mario is governed by a set of physics. Just like in real life, he has to build up to his maximum speed and ramp down when he wants to stop. Jumping has a distinct arch and is affected by the speed at which you were travelling. Running and jumping are ostensibly Mario's only mechanics, but you can see just how complicated his control is versus what came before, yeah?
Well, as we all know, just as there was a leap from Pong to Super Mario Bros., video games would only become more and more complex with time. Third-person action games like Resident Evil 4 and Dark Souls make the NES look like a toy for infants with how many inputs there are to learn and master; and the less I say about DOOM: Eternal's trillions of inputs, the better.
What I'm trying to say, though, isn't that simple controls or complex controls are better or worse than the other. I simply want to emphasize just how varied games can be on the basest of levels, and why it's important to consider how a game controls before anything else — because the ease with which you can pick up a game and start playing is often what makes or breaks an experience altogether.
This is why I, personally, can't stand playing Super Mario 64. To me, the controls of that game just don't aren't fun to interface with. The physics of the original Super Mario Bros. are already rough enough to get used to, but put that same hefty gravity and momentum into the third-dimension, and it goes from being something to get accustomed to to a wet blanket weighing down the overall experience. I don't like making jumps in Mario 64; I don't like the wall-jump and how finnicky it is; and I really don't like it when the game expects precision performance with such clunky movements.
Super Mario Sunshine, on the other hand, controls like a dream to me. It's as if the iron ingots in Mario's underwear were extracted, giving him the freedom to fly through the air with agility that 64 Mario could only dream of. Couple that with FLUDD and the number of different techniques like the spin jump, and Sunshine is about as "fluid" as a 3D platformer can get, to my estimation. When I boot up Sunshine, I can hop right in and get to having fun in the various jungle gyms the game has constructed for me; when I boot up 64, I feel an exhaustion overtake me before I even get off the main menu, knowing that I'll have to take some time to reacclimate myself with Mario's gelatinous jumps and acrobatics. And don't even get me started on the actual Metal Mario you can play as.
Like I said earlier, however, control is only a third of what makes up "game feel"; another element of it is the game's pacing.
Pacing, put simply, is the flow of events from one to another. Think of how long movie scenes last before there's a camera cut to a different shot. The amount of time it takes for each cut is part of the pacing; the general progression of the narrative is the other big part of pacing. Both of these factors apply to games as well.
Just as every game controls differently, every game is paced differently, as well. There are fast games — Super Meat Boy, Ultrakill, and of course the likes of Sonic. There are slow games, too — puzzle games like Portal, text-heavy games like Disco Elysium, and even platformers that require more deliberation from the player, like Castlevania. The overall speed of a game can be either appealing or unappealing depending on what you like, or even how you feel at any given moment. No game is inherently flawed from its general pacing alone.
That said, games can be paced poorly, regardless of the speed at which they play. Let's pick on Sonic, as I am wont to do. Most of his games are blistering from start to finish, but there are a few outliers that really shit the bed. One of the most infamous examples is Sonic Unleashed, where half the game is spent running around like a coke fiend at a hundred miles an hour... and the other half is a half-baked God of War ripoff beat-'em-up that moves at a fraction of a snail's pace. That wouldn't necessarily be a bad thing if the two gameplay styles were integrated more cohesively. Instead, most of the time, you get to play one super-fast level before being thrown headfirst into a series of brawler stages that each take upwards of twenty minutes to complete. That is poor pacing, and if it's poor enough, it can easily be a reason why someone would drop their controller and go off to do something like pay their taxes, because even that's more entertaining than another half an hour of Sonic x DMC stuck in a brick of molasses.
On the contrary, when a game is paced really well, it can be downright hypnotizing, and you can kiss many hours of your life goodbye before you even start playing. Ultrakill, for instance, is broken up into levels that can be cleared sometimes in under a minute. This makes it appealing to go through stages again and again, grinding your times down; and because the game is just so fucking fast, it never feels like you're stuck doing one thing for too long. An hour of playing Ultrakill barely feels like any time at all. Again, though, even games with lower speed can have intoxicating pacing. Disco Elysium gets sucked off every day between my friends and I, and I'm about to give it another round of sloppy dome for how well it's paced. While it's slow to go around, talking to people, wading through mountains of text, there's always something interesting for you to do in DE. You can help solve local mysteries, try and recover pieces of your missing identity, learn about the history of the slum you're stuck in, or even, if you truly must... try and deal with that pesky case that your partner keeps telling you is sooo important.
Good pacing makes it easy to slip into a "flow-state", a kind of zen where you and the game are like lovers, entwined in a waltz of fun and frolic that can only be broken by realizing that it's nine PM and you have work tomorrow and oh god I haven't eaten yet and-
Bad pacing is a dance where neither you nor your partner know the moves and so you kind of just bumble around until you end up falling on your face and wishing dearly that you were anywhere else, doing anything else.
Lastly, an often overlooked aspect of a game's feel is its "feedback". The exact definition of "feedback" as it pertains to video games can be a bit nebulous, but if I were to try and describe it the best I can, I would say that feedback is how a game responds to your actions.
Donkey Kong Country Returns is one of my all-time favorite games, and it masters game feel in many ways. One such way is how the game responds to what DK does in the world. When you jump on an enemy, for example, there's a loud, satisfying bop that plays both from the game and from your Wiimote, emphasizing just how well you gave that baddie a righteous smackdown. DKCR puts you in the shoes of your player character masterfully; every jump you make, every enemy you kill makes you feel like you're actually a five-hundred pound gorilla, mercilessly bulldozing your way to reclaim what's rightfully yours.
But when a game lacks feedback, it's just kind of... underwhelming. Imagine if you stomped on a Goomba in Mario and there wasn't a nice little ba-boop in response to the impact. Imagine if you didn't bounce up either, so you just kind of fell down on top of the Goomba, silently flattening it. That would be so fucking lame, right?
I wanted to try and keep my examples diverse here, but since he just has so much relevant material, I'll talk about Sonic again. Particularly Sonic 2006, that notorious stain on the franchise's record that I am honestly surprised it survived. 06 has enough problems to fill a book, but in relation to the topic at hand, one thing it did wrong was feedback. In most other Sonic titles, when you homing attack an enemy, there's a crunchy wham, accompanied by the enemy you just blasted going flying off or outright exploding. It's fast, it's satisfying, and it reinforces the power that you wield while playing as this character. In Sonic 06, when you attack an enemy, there's usually just a little metal... bonk. And that's about it. Most enemies in 06 have large health bars, so don't count on them going flying after only a single hit. Instead, you have to repeatedly hammer them like a bent nail, and when they finally go down, they do so literally, ragdolling as if you were playing Garry's Mod and not a Sonic game. Instead of making you feel strong and giving your actions tangible weight, it makes you feel weak — flaccid, even. You aren't a blue cannonball of death; you're a wet stick slapping around your enemies until they lie down in sheer pity. In any other game, this would be a glaring flaw, but as far as 06 goes, it's just another problem for the pile.
Sonic 06 actually encapsulates all three of the things I've talked about today: it controls like ass; the pacing of its gameplay and story are agonizing, especially if you're a fan of Sonic's usual speed; and it barely reacts to the things you do, making it seem more like you're clacking action figures together rather than controlling a real character in a real, physical world. It is pretty miserable.
As for games with great game feel, I can think of a few examples... DOOM: Eternal, mentioned briefly before, is a pretty stellar one. It controls well (despite the amount of inputs you need to keep track of at all times), it's paced so that any stage never overstays its welcome, and the way demons blow apart into meaty chunks when hit by a Super Shotgun blast says more about its feedback than I ever could. I still haven't fucking finished s2 of good omens but I have some Big Thoughts about something that happened in the first episode regarding Aziraphale and the Shostakovich symphony he picks up.
To start, I love Shostakovich. I think he is one of the most powerful, moving, artistic composers we have ever had the pleasure of experiencing. He is well known for political tensions and commentary, especially since he was operating under a repressive regime that took it upon themselves to determine what he could and could not produce.
Prior to writing Symphony No. 5 in D (our good friend Aziraphale's pick), Shostakovich had all stage performances of his work banned by Stalin for an opera that was sympathetic to someone who had committed crimes under the pressures of the bourgeois society.
Under the threat of arrest and exile to labor camps, Shostakovich was determined to write music that would fall within Stalin's expectations without his true thoughts being silenced. He laid the groundwork of the piece, saying, "The theme of my Fifth Symphony is the making of a man. I saw him, with all his experience, at the center of the work, which is lyrical from beginning to end. In the finale the tragically tense impulses of the earlier movements are resolved in optimism and joy of living." This was technically, what Stalin wanted. Technically, it fell in line. Technically, it could be used as propaganda.
But here's the thing. Shostakovich is a god damned genius. There are many interpretations and arguments over the exact meaning of his work but the general consensus seems to be that this work was making a mockery of Stalin, a hollow show of someone who was supposed to have found this freedom in his own happiness but is in reality only being forced to go along. There are entire theses dedicated to examining the artistry this symphony is brimming with that allows this to come across, but suffice it to say that Shostakovich had not given up his voice.
Here comes Aziraphale, spending most of his life under the thumb of a strict, heartless governing body that expected conformity and nothing less. Aziraphale, who has rebelled quietly for centuries, who faced his higher ups with forced smiles and polite nods that allowed him to slide under the radar and do what he knew was right.
So, end of season 1, he's caught. Called out by the oppressors, threatened, reminded to conform, conform, conform even as they abandon him. Aziraphale is digging this little niche for himself to find the joy that could come with perhaps, maybe, not being held under such stringent guidelines as long as he keeps his head down, and here comes bare-ass Gabriel, dragging with him right back into the mud.
It's important to note here there are two warring opinions about the performance of the very end of the symphony. One pushes and pushes, ending in something that could be, while frantic, truly joyous. However, some artists' interpretation pulls back, the same notes but menacing and monotonous. Did our hero truly find the light? Or did he fall, once again, under the boots of those who seek to control him?
It sets a tone for the rest of the season. These paths are just as readily available to Aziraphale as well, but both of them have consequences. Both have loss. What is the appropriate balance of loss and life?
TL;DR, yes, I have taken the 14 seconds Aziraphale goes "oh goodie shostakovich" and extrapolated a whole ass narrative about war and duality and subterfuge.
Go listen to Symphony No. 5 in D minor, Op. 47 by none other than Dmitri Dmitryevich Shostakovich for a good and/or bad time.

Had a dream and it goes like this.
I forgot the first bit but then I remember the middle bit.
So it was like just me being really hungry for Wendy’s and going to Wendy’s before school then for some fucking reason it time skipped to middle of day then I was in like a art studio thing with that one teacher from me ye old school with @bananabreadcroissant and we were making some really sad tiles like very sad, and there was this other person no one in real life but was like a mix of Wendy from Gravity falls and probably Bill. Then it was just going back and forth with this teacher until lunch were me, @t0ast-the-gh0st, @space-spoon were all going to Wendy’s, spoo stayed behind and me and the other went to Wendy’s but it was like a strange ass Wendy’s. It was in this weird like parking lot but the parking spots were sand and when you got over to the place it was like I don’t remember but we didn’t get Wendy’s.
Then that Wendy clone from before was like a demon apparently and had like a spell on all of the aforementioned d people but now there was @gaepokemon and @hfjairy4289 And we were like being tracked and then I just like confronted them and then poffed back to our grope then went just running around and theses like weird ass like orb thins that had two little purple ends were changing me and making cool shapes. And then we all got captured and put in this couch things and just watched as the Wendy’s bot fucking absorbed in a little fucking black hole and then we were all fighting the black hole other then the Wendy clone and new old man with robot sacrificed himself and THEN THE DREAM CHANGED.
It changed to like a weird old fnaf roleplaying game I used to play like all the time but it was like way better and you could play as a security guard. And get hunted like a mini game and I was a guy security guard and I accidentally nailed the door shut when trying to escape and then I woke up.
Very fun dreams not scary at all.

Tadadada! Here's the epilogue to my 'Overanalyzing beach Maiko' series.
Firstly, let's list some main conclusion theses:
1) Mai became interested in Zuko's problems after he directly mentioned his scar and his relationship with Ozai for the first time, so her final change of attitude does make some sense.
2) The basis for Zuko's irrational jealousy was Mai's annoyed facial expression after he criticized Ruon-Jian.
3) The context of Zuko's jealousy rampage actually leaves a loophole for not-possessive interpretation (yay).
4) Despite how badly Zuko screwed up, Mai somehow managed to screw up even more (yep, still sounds contr-intuitive).
5) Mai actually expresses herself all the time and her "childhood trauma" is a big bullshit.
6) Apart from his inner crisis, Zuko has to fix many problematic attitudes and personality settings before he'll become a decent romantic partner for anyone.
7) So does Mai.
Something like this.
And now, a bit of old good boring and inaccurate psychology lecture mistake correction.
I think that I misinterpreted Zuko's side of "bring me food" scene, actually. You see, I saw it as conscious submission in order to avoid conflict with Mai, but...
It actually looks more like Zuko genuinely didn't realize that Mai's demand was not okay. He wasn't exactly eager to please her*, but he also didn't see her attitude towards him as problematic.
(*Not catching Mai's "I'm hungry" initial hint is kind of an indicator of Zuko's cool-off towards her. I mean, acts of service is his typical way of showing affection, which makes his sudden cluelesness pretty notable.)
Basically, Mai and Zuko in this scene demonstrate opposite facets of locus of control problem. Simply put, they both believe that Zuko is responsible for something he really isn't - in this case, satisfying Mai's hunger.
Later, though, it's Zuko who believes Mai owes him something - namely, to give him affection and meet his emotional needs. In his head, he gives responsibility for his emotional well-being to Mai and scolds her when she "ignores her duty" by not being "passionate" enough.
(But while Mai doesn't owe Zuko anything formally, she made a mistake of severely underestimating Zuko's contribution into relationship and his real value for her. This resulted in her coldness and lack of gratitude in response to his affection, which is quite a big relationship screw-up.)
Okaaay, and with that part out of the way, it's time for my final personal reflections.
In general, I have no doubts I made lots of other mistakes during my analysis. I tried my best, but to dissect relationship conflicts correctly, you need to have good feeling of personal boundaries and empathy of your own. And... Well. It's not exactly my forte.
I compensate for some things with theoretical knowledge, but my mind is a mess, so... Yep.
I feel like I have to go and read more psychological theory after this.
Also, I kinda tried to do an entertainment out of this, and roasting format doesn't exactly mix good with being objective. So, yep. It seems I got some kind of useless Frankenstein monster in the end, lol.
And finally... Perhaps I had to make it clear much earlier, but...
I have nothing against Maiko shippers or Mai fans. Ta-da!
I'm sure they have a lot against me now though, pffft.
I realize what I wasn't exactly restrained in my roasting, so it's natural for you to dislike me. But my goal wasn't to tell you what your preferences are inadequate or something. I mean, I myself ship much more toxic problematic shit (and have a weak spot for all sorts of flawed characters). It isn't supposed to be about being rational. You like it, I don't, it's ok.
Dunno, maybe someone needed to hear this.
That's all, I guess. If you were reading this series - thanks for your attention. Despite everything, it was a rather interesting experience for me, and I hope you found something useful for yourself too.

(The Long Awaited) Omega strikers head cannons!!! (PART 3!!)
sorry for the hiatus, but I needed time to recollect headcannons just to keep theses posts long. Anyways, let’s go!
Finii owns a clown car. Like, a legitimate clown car. Like, the ones that are way bigger inside than what they look like outside and are filled with a bunch of random trinkets and stuff. Those clown cars
Talking about Finii, she has broken MULTIPLE times already into the Clairon Corp.’s research and development department. Not even sneakily. She just actually launches herself trough a window, probably breaks said window, and makes it in there. And when she does break in, she always demands something, most likely Candy. The R&D workers are just SO done…but she does bring them presents for when she breaks in during their birthdays (she always, for some reason, knows when their birthdays are), which is nice. (Except that she (purposely) forgot to bring Rasmus a present that one time…not fun I’ll tell you)
The R&D department is filled to the brim with people that cry super quietly…except for Rasmus
Sometimes, Era will do Kai’s eyeliner for him. this might seem silly but I think it’s wholesome.
All of the ember monarchs are my little pony fans. They cried when the old gen of twilight sparkle and her friends was over and the new gen rolled around.
Kazan was such a gremlin during school and had a clear system on how to (not-so) subtlety tell the teacher if he liked them or not. It’s just simple. At first, he would take normal notes, but over time, teachers he liked got the prettiest most aesthetic looking notes that could ever be granted by a student. Teachers he didn’t, however…let’s just say that the notebooks for those classes looked like war zones
Also, being a calligraphy nut, Kazan is actually VERY picky on what writing utensils he uses, because, you want to be comfortable, so you only use the stuff you like, duh. If you give him one of those trashy disposable bic pens and expect him to live trough it, think again.
VIGIL was equipped to have the best highest grade of cameras ever so it always records at the highest crispiest qualities. It has better footage that literally everything else, even CCTV footage. Why? Cause Nao’s a photography nut and cares about quality.
Nao keeps 138366264 tabs opens, some of them being just duplicates of other tabs, so that if Rasmus were to look through her tablet, he would never find the super secret plan to get rid of him and just tell her to “close some tabs”. Other ways she writes down her plans to get rid of him is via Spotify playlists and gacha life charather profiles.
AiMi can make screens appear around her, where she can open new tabs and do anything that an electronic device can do, really….she can also look at some of her fellow strikes personal information, If they used the AiMi app before she rolled around(which is probably almost every one)
And last but not least, just a short, kinda obvious headcannon, my man rune is a HOMOSEXUAL. Need I say more.

Continuing on 22 May 2024. Exclusion is what? How does it work in 1Space? Take ½. current vibes on the last days of April... and the last days of my 27th trip around the Sun. Entering the season of taurus, my birthseason. Ive been feeling so intense downloads (and still am) esp in the first half of this month...when the Sun was out and it was smoking hot for the very first time of the year! Everything is already blooming and radiated the brightest colors. I captured so many flowers <3 And then suddenly winter came back and is still here lol. Temperature has dropped around 20 degrees celsius. But tbh it still gives me power tho. The sudden shift of seasons alwas reminds me of human nature, of myself, how I can be supperhappy in one and sad in the next moment right after. And as I am living not that far away from the mountains (ca. 80-100 kom) and the Alps , the weather can change instantly and drastically here lol :D Guess id never get REALLY used to it but at least I started taking always a jacket with me , because it can change from warm to cold within days :D. The Sun has activated so so much movement within and so I went outside and connected with the local river and the foresty areas not far away from my appartment. It felt so so good and gave me a lot of energy. Now, that it is freezing cold, I have the urge to get more stuff done at home, to create warmth within (and in my homespace) and to diver deeper into creativity and my writing process. Physically, i am still feeling somehow ,blocked' or numbed to really start getting into the Yoga Flow again ; same goes for hooping. Guess it's because I am still not fully on my own (although the living situation has changed but still not fully) and go through breakup-related pain and grief. All of theses phases are necessary and contributing to my healing. Step by step, I am finding the courage back to socialize with people properly again. I have been in my shell for too long...and my past relationship didn't do me ANY good with this over the past years. Coming out of the shell feels like awakening and facing all the pain, hurt and grief that there is. To let all of this feelings smoothely flow out of my life and letting healing energy flow into it.
