Netflix released, well, not a ton but some data about viewership recently and I couldn't help but look up the performance of my fandoms. They released the top 18,214 titles based on hours watched from Jan to June 2023.

ATLA: Avatar the Last Airbender (Not available globally - what countries are missing? IDK)

Woot woot! Avatar in the house. 45.5M hours for book 1, giving it a rank of 342.

Book 3 has more views than book 2. I'm gonna credit that to Zuko.

Teen Wolf (Not available globally - what countries are missing? IDK)

The top season is season 3, oddly enough, with a rank of 361! It got 43.9M hours streamed. What are you all rewatching?

Season 1 is the third most watched.

Jurassic World (Not available globally - what countries are missing? IDK)

A healthy rank of 536 with 34M views.

Yu-Gi-Oh (Not available in the US)

Season one is ranked 1,843, with 11.4M hours watched in the first half of the year. Wow! That's impressive for such an old show.

Only 54% of people moved on to the second season. Sad😢

Season 5 had more views than Season 4 or 3. Stop torturing yourselves with rewatching the ceremonial duel, y'all. It's not healthy.

Season one saw 5.9M hours watched, giving it a rank of 3,133! Not bad for a show from 2019. (How does YGO out rank this? And how is this show more popular than She-Ra? She-Ra is better imo)

I'm impressed the Steal or Not to Steal interactive story did as well as it did. (1.3M hours). But I also know there were some good JuliaxCarmen scenes that 100% inspired fics.

She-Ra (available globally)

Season 1 is ranked 3,213 with 5.7M hours viewed.

People then went on to watch Seasons 5 and 4. We're all rewatching the angst bits, aren't we? Or maybe it's the redemption arc.

Least watched season? 3.

Voltron

Season one is ranked 4,140 with 3.9M hours watched.

Why is season 2 the only one not available globally? Odd. 62% of people go on to watch it after season 1 anyway.

Season 8 is not the least watched season, season 5 is. However, season 5 is totally the one I rewatched twice when it first came out.

Fullmetal Alchemist (movies are global, anime are not)

It is an absolute crime nothing here is ranked high. The highest is the movie, The Revenge of Scar, with a rank of 5,666. 2.2M hours watched.

Only season 1 for both the 03 anime and Brotherhood is available, but the 03 anime is winning. It had an extra 200K hours viewed.

All of the movies had a higher hour watch count than any of the anime seasons.

List by StayDandy Synopsis : In an alchemical transmutation gone wrong, Edward Elric lost his right arm and his left leg, and his brother Alphonse lost his entire body, ending up as nothing but a soul in an empty suit of armor. Equipped with mechanical "automail" limbs, Edward becomes a State Alchemist of the military and starts a journey across the nation with his brother, trying to restore their bodies to their original shape by finding the so-called Philosopher's Stone, which is said to give an alchemist the ability to overlook the law of Equivalent Exchange. At first the Elric brothers have that one goal in mind, however, as their journey continues they find themselves fighting for something that is much, much greater than they could have ever imagined. Saw u posting about Arcane and wanted to share a HC about Jinx and Caitlyn where Cait bandages Jinx's wounds instead of firing a shot with her rifle, bcuz it's what her dad taught her (he's a doctor right?)

Reminded me of the scene in Fullmetal alchemist brotherhood where Winry patches up Scar instead of seeking to kill him bcuz that was what her parents did before he killed them. They saved his life cuz they were doctors.

Idk it might be interesting???

HMMM, as nice as this image is, unfortunately I don't think it has a good chance of working out, for a few reasons.

1.) Winry was never a soldier, but Caitlyn is. Well, more specifically, Caitlyn's a cop. Caitlyn has been trained to use her gun and to fire if necessary, and it's been shown repeatedly that she recognizes Jinx as a threat. I saw someone say that in a preview for s2, Caitlyn tells Vi that if she and Jinx encounter each other when Vi's not around, it's very likely one of them will end up dead. (I haven't seen this preview myself though, so I can't confirm if that's true or not.) That's acknowledging that Caitlyn is prepared to kill Jinx if necessary, and considering what Jinx has put her through personally (the assault, the kidnapping, trying to make Vi kill her, killing her mom, etc) I can't blame her.

1a.) On that note, on top of Winry never being trained to handle guns or shoot anyone, Winry does actually have experience in the medical field already, having helped deliver a baby and also assisting Pinako in attaching Ed's automail, which is surgery. While Caitlyn can do triage on the field (presumably at least a little, though she had to seek help for Vi's stab wound), she doesn't have any experience in the medical field or, as far as we can see, any inclination toward that.

2.) Perhaps most importantly, Jinx sees Caitlyn as a MAJOR threat. Not only is she intensely jealous over her presumption that Vi has replaced her with Caitlyn (as a result of her insecurities over her relationship with Vi), but her psychoses makes her literally see Caitlyn as an enemy, as someone who would take glee in hurting her, as we see from her hallucinations when Singed was using the shimmer to save her life. (We also see this in a few other scenes I think, such as I think on the bridge? But the ones during the surgery were the most notable since Jinx was screaming / begging "Caitlyn" to stop, but "Caitlyn" continued to smirk while "Vi" let her do it.) Jinx not only harbors hatred for Caitlyn out of jealousy, but also out of paranoia and fear. No doubt due in part to Silco assuring her for the past eight years that everyone was out to get them (something he hammered home again at the dinner party), but as far as Jinx is concerned, Caitlyn would take the first opportunity presented to kill her, and make it painful. What this means is that even if she was injured and Caitlyn did try to help, Jinx is far more likely to see that as a threat and lash out / try to attack rather than let Caitlyn get anywhere near her. Contrast this with Scar, who although he knew that Winry hated him for valid reasons (given that he killed her parents, although he didn't do so on purpose exactly, but he knows she doesn't know that and he also knows that his own feelings of revenge stem largely from the death of his own family, etc etc I assume you've seen the show / read the manga), never really saw her as a threat, even when she was pointing a gun at him, and was prepared to deal with that head on. Like Scar wouldn't just let her kill him, but also he was never afraid of her. He was more like, "You hate me, and that's fair, we can settle this if you want, but otherwise I have no issue with you since you're not a State Alchemist." So while Scar would let Winry bandage his injuries, Jinx would never afford Caitlyn that opportunity because she is, tbh, far too afraid of her to take that risk.

So while it's a nice though, especially since I would love for Jinx to get a redemption arc and be a happy family with Vi again (and thus have a nice sisters-in-law relationship with Caitlyn), it's not one that I can see happening, unfortunately. At least not at this point in time. :(

- my fav anime girl so was the first thing that came to mind as an inspiration to create a warrior blonde OC

- combat prodigy despite young age

- sent into battlefield while still very young, forever scarred by war

- no superpowers - still can kick your ass

- loyal af

- smart, can see through deception

- pragmatic, gets frustrated when people don't follow the plan

- unhealthy su*cidal tendencies when facing tragedy and loss (episode 19 anyone?)

- witty, kind and warm towards those few people she cares about (but she won't coddle them), professional and private towards others

- subtle display of affection

- has a dog

2. Olivier Mira Armstrong (Fullmetal Alchemist: Brotherhood)

- aesthetic (blonde long hair, blue outfit, sword)

- a patriot

- gets the shit done

- despises people in power who hide when they ask other people to fight

- judges people by their deeds, not opinions of others

- can be patient but will rather act than talk

- if she dislikes someone THEY WILL KNOW

- you would rather fight a bear than her

(generally Rein gives more Olivier-vibes in court and other official queen/warden commander business, much less with close friends)

3. Tsukuyo (Gintama)

- a cheek scar that started a new chapter in her life

- acts cool, actually cares too much

- really cares about her own dignity and will get defensive and awkward when caught on something embarrassing

- not really sure what to do to make herself fit to most of the traditionally feminine roles (or if she even wants to)

- loud when drunk

- will rather battle an army than admit she has a crush on sb and everyone need to help her open up.

4. Mikasa Ackerman (Attack on Titan)

- dual wielding

- too competent for this world

- great fear of losing her (found) family again

- usually stoic, will enter a reckless rage mode if her loved ones are in danger

- very private

5. Queen Meve (The Witcher, especially Thronebreaker game)

- blond badass queen aesthetic

- a painful treason makes her a fugitive in her own country

- picks up strays along a way and they fight bad guys and monters together

6. Lagertha (The Vikings)

- oh look, another blond badass queen

- you REALLY don't want to hurt people important to her

- holds grudges and can take revenge after years

- if she loves someone it is for life, even if time and circumstances may tear those relationships apart

- loved and respected by her people, but men in power would like to control her (they fail)

7. Mary Crawley (Downton Abbey)

- privileged girl who is used to winning and getting what she wants but is not cruel or using her position to drag other people down.

- dedicated to protecting her family and their good name.

- other often see her as an ice queen but she loves deeply, even if it difficult for her to embrace her own feelings.

- not afraid to get her hands dirty (literally)

8. San (Princess Mononoke)

- warrior girl who will fiercely protect her home

- tends to divide people into clear groups of allies and enemies and will not easily change her mind

- also, friends with big doggos <3

9. Adora Belle Dearheart (Discworld)

- resting bitch face

- not easily impressed by fancy words and gestures

will fight for her cause even if she is left alone in the battlefield

- story arc includes getting back her family business and finding juistice for people who ruined her family.

Do you know what this specific scene reminds me of?

Scar from fullmetal alchemist has a deep past. He searches for revenge when the State alchemists kill his whole family, this case is similar to Jasper's case.

In the rebellion you all know the diamonds corrupt every single gem on earth, and as you can see in season 2 and 3 she tries to kill steven, not knowing the whole plot behind those loses.

It wasn't their fault, they caused damage to everyone in their road and people who wasn't part of the situation.

Now, this specific scene reminds me of how scar crossed the desert to Amestris, thinking about his past, his memories. Maybe Jasper will do the same at some point: go to the desert, think about all the new information they gave to her and analyze the situation.

Then, she is going to come back to Beach city and keep the revenge promise until Steven uses his talk powers and she gets to redeem herself :)
