Alright, ya’ll, i need suggestions.

So for my world/au, i want to have the silvans have close relations with the avari (well, closer than with the noldor/sindar, etc)

But i don’t want to refer to the avaris as “avari” because that’s really lumping all the different elfs together just because they were the ones to decide not to come to valinor, not because of their cultures or beliefs. It would be like refering to the Noldor, Teleri, and Vanyar elves solely as “Valinorians” despite them all being very different groups, even when you’re only talking about the noldor or the teleri, etc.

So i was thinking, in addition to the silvans (the wood elves) i would have 5 main avari clans/groups (because for me it makes more sense for more elves to have stayed in middle earth rather than go on the great journey bc i really don’t see that many elves leaving their home just based on the words of 3 elves and a valar AND because middle earth is a lot bigger than valinor (from what i understand) so for me it would just make sense, geographically, if there are more alves that stayed in middle earth at the start) and some minor groups that don’t have as much influence.

So, taking the trend of the wood elves being refered to as the silvans (in this case specifically refering to the silvans of Greenwood), i would like to come up with “official” names for the other 5 groups based on similar discriptors.

The 5 other groups would be:

The arctic elves (they live basically in the far north, they even had some settlements on the grinding ice before beriliand sank)

The mist elves (they live in swamps, mangroves, jungles, basically anyplace where it gets misty and foggy and wet)

The isle elves (they live on islands, basically an archipelago, and their main way of getting around is boats)

The desert elves (they live in the sandy deserts, some of them are nomads, thought they don’t leave their domain, some of them live in the same place)

The animal elves (the only ones that are all nomads, they travel from biome to biome, they have regular routes and don’t really stay in the same place for long. Don’t let the name fool you, they are not cute and cuddly)

And i need official names for all these elven groups, like how the wood elves are Silvans.

So, any suggestions?

(Btw, the elven groups all live to more or less to the east of the noldor/sindar elven settlements, with the silvans living the closest to the noldor/sindars, so the noldor/sindar elves are more or less oblivious to their existance.)

How come I've never seen a version of Aurora where they recognize she's a farm girl? She ran barefoot through mud and caught frogs in the river. She picked blackberries and swam in the creek. She made up imaginary armies to fight in her little imaginary kingdom in the woods. She cut firewood and made her own clothes and soap. She raised chickens, cooked stews and built fires. Aurora was raised in a cottage where these idiot fairies didn't know how to take care of a child, so she rolled up her sleeves and taught herself. Aurora deserves to be a wild hillbilly child who meets the prince with mud on her feet and rough hands from hard work. Aurora deserves a prince who is enraptured by her independence and wild spirit and kindness to animals around her because they were her only friends. Aurora deserves to be relieved at the sight of a spinning wheel for it means she can do something with her hands sitting in her cold marble castle bedroom. I want to see more wild hardworking Briar Rose, with her golden hair tucked up so it doesn't fall in her face while she digs a new garden in the back yard.
