#Gakushuu IS big brother

I just read your post about karma and asano being brothers I just wanted to add That asano is most likely older than karma (karma can't be older if he was they would been in different grades) and I can see him try to be his older brother
Yes you’re right! I had to double check their birthdays and Asano is technically older. His birthday is January first while Karma’s is December 25th which makes Asano the older of the two. I can definitely see Asano trying to pull the “Well I’m the older one so there!” card during an argument 💀

What kind of important lessons/assassination skills could the five virtuosos themselves teach E Class?
Interesting question, never thought much about it.
When it comes to assassination skills, I don't think the B5 can offer much; they're inexperienced compared to their new classmates. Sure, Gakuhsuu can teach them something about martial arts, but they're already learning how to fight in P. E. Ren may give seduction tips and tricks, but they're nothing better than or different from Irina's lessons. The remaining three don't have anything to offer in this department, so all the B5 just stick to teaching their favorite subjects.
For life lessons, I can see them influencing some E Class students to be better versions of themselves.
Araki and Gakushuu for example, can make Isogai a better leader. He's already a good leader, but there are times he when he's not assertive enough. I mentioned the drone incident in the "B5 in E Class" post and how Gakushuu called him out on it. After that an embarrassed Isogai decides to set his foot down more often.
Isogai has a nasty habit of putting others' needs before his own and not asking for help. Gakushuu's also guilty of the latter, and Araki knows it, so after warming up to Isogai, he offers to help him out. I hc that Araki is also a leader-type, so he convinces to let Isogai put him in charge every now and then. Sure, Megu's there, but the more hands on the deck, the better, right? Araki can also offer his experience and views on what makes a good leader.
Now if only he could get through a certain stubborn strawberry blond
There's Ritsu and Seo. It's canon others use her for their own amusement, whether that be Takebayashi and Terasaka turning her into a maid, or Irina having her turn into some Karasuma dating sim game. Ritsu believes she's just helping out her friends as always, but after listening to Seo points out how stupid it is to use an AI meant for assassination to goof around, she starts to see his point.
While they're on the subject, she innocently asks Seo why it's difficult for Seo to just do as others say. Seo talks about how you shouldn't always do what others tell you, especially when it goes against your views/morals/etc... You gotta learn how to say no.
Ritsu starts to understand the concept of free will a bit better. She'll continue to indulge Irina and the Maid gang, but there's going to be a limit. She'll prioritize her studies and the assassination over every thing else.
Koyama may have a minor influnece in comparision. One day, Nagisa approaches him and asks about his hair length and if it's uncomfortable. Koyama doesn't think so and he likes how he looks. He doesn't know how relieving his words are to Nagisa, who was being forced to let his hair down at home and be reminded of how feminine he looks. Seeing Koyama willingly keep his hair long makes him feel a little less insecure about the length of his hair. In a way, it gives Nagisa some sense of control over his miserable situation if that makes sense. This is alos one of the many factors that push him towards accepting his looks during the school festival.
Now, imagine after the Hiromi disaster, Koyama recalls that seemingly unimportant conversation about hair and puts two and two together. He's not good at comforting people, so he doesn't really say anything to Nagisa. It's Seo who kinda does that since him and Nagisa are "Sonic Ninja buddies" It's awkward, but Seo asks if he's okay, then about his crazy mother, which leads to Seo pretty much trash talking her and telling Nagisa to ditch her. So now you have Korosensei and Seo urging Nagisa to tell his mom off, albeit in different styles. (Seo's just being a good friend, okay?)
Back to Koyama, when he sees Karma and Rio playfully dress Nagisa in a maid costume, he just goes off on them. Think back to how he yelled at Okuda at the library and multiple it by ten-- this guy's like a Seo 2.0 😰
As always, Nagisa tells him it's fine, but Koyama just yells at him to shut up and proceeds to drag him away from the other two. Koyama pauses after realizeing what he's doing and lets him go. He starts walking away, then suddenly turns around and tells Nagisa to "man up and stop letting those two clowns tease you!" He tried sounding tough, but it came out pretty awkward and unsure. Again, this guy sucks at comforting others.
(Meanwhile, the demon duo are being chewed out by Seo, who witnessed Koyama's spiel. Imagine Korosensei has a picture of that and it shows up right after the one where Karma and Rio are dressing Nagisa up.)
Still, that's not stopping Yada from pretending she and Gakushuu are siblings because of their freaking eye color!
Then, there's Fuwa. I hc Koyama loves fantasy, it wouldn't be hard for Fuwa to get him into manga. However, he starts to see how easily distracted she tends to get, or how she neglects her studies in favor of manga. So, it's up to him to keep her from falling behind, and what better way of doing so than writing fanfictions of her favorite manga that's littered with chemical formulas? Or studying biology to theorize about a non-human character's physiology?
Araki decides to help out, too....by comfiscating her manga and teaching her about time managment. And Koyama, her so-called friend, just sits there and laughs at her melancholy.
As for Gakushuu, I can see him teaching Yada self-defense to ward off unwanted attention. Now, Yada dislikes violence, hence why she focuses on negotiations. Gakushuu points out she can't always talk her way out of danger, whether she likes it or not. So, Yada begrudgingly lets him train her. This was a request from Ren by the way, even if he also dislikes violence.
Gakushuu: I taught you how to fight.
Yada: Doesn't mean I have to.
Gakushuu: *sigh*
Yada: Come on, baby brother, you don't want a bad guy bothering your sister on her way to bus stop, right?
Gakushuu: You are my worst student yet.
Gakushuu: And don't call me baby brother! If we're going to pretend to be siblings, why can't we pretend that I'm older?
Yada: Because you aren't?
Gakushuu: And you aren't my sister!
Yada: So?
Gakushuu:...
Don't worry, Yada does eventually put her training to use, and makes sure to tell Shuu about it later. The guy has this giant smug on his face, clearly proud of himself (oh, and Yada, too)

Fandom Saturday, Assassination Classroom part 2
Something just occurred to me. Something that we all knew, but didn't really focus on about Assassination Classroom. The main character.
Like many, I believe that Assassination Classroom is perfect as is. Sure, it'd be nice to flesh out some of the minor characters a bit more, but as for the timing, the length, the plot, the climaxes, it was perfect. Four semesters, spring, summer, fall, and winter, and an opening for each one. It begins the day Korosensei became a teacher, a yellow octopus, and ends when he dies. It is complete, well rounded, and everything times out perfectly, but here's the kicker.
We always assumed Nagisa or Karma or maybe even Isogai were the main characters. We wished we saw more of Gakushuu and the Big 5. Here's why I think we don't have it, and maybe even why the 365 movie was simply a recap. (Haven't seen it so I'm trusting @bismuthwisdom's thoughts on it because it matches what many others have said about it as well.)
It had nothing to do with the main character.
It's obvious this story is about Korosensei, but we're thrown off by the fact that Nagisa is the narrator in the beginning, and in many places throughout, but he's also not the main character.
Some wish for a more thorough time skip, but just about everyone ended up doing what they said they would to Korosensei. Karma is a bureaucrat. Nagisa is a teacher. Nakamura is probably a diplomat or interpreter. All the things they told Korosensei they would be.
The main character was Korosensei. And if it wasn't something in his scope, it's something we wouldn't have known. It's even in the names of the episodes, his focus.
Let's take one of my favorite episodes as an example, Karma Time. It's called Karma Time. Who was Korosensei's main focus during that entire thing? Karma's past was noted in the student file, something Korosensei had access to. It ended when he finally had a good grasp on who Karma was and his attention went back to the classroom as a whole.
Last time, I talked about how fleshed out the characters were, but how closely was Korosensei paying attention to them? That's why they're fleshed out and none of them focused on their home life even though it was mentioned. It wasn't mentioned in all cases because not everyone decided to talk about it at school.
And Gakushuu. Gakushuu was never Korosensei's student, hence, he was never focused on unless his students were somehow interacting with him, like during midterms or festivals.
We also learned about Gakuhou because at one point, Korosensei had to face him. Their teaching methods were at war, so we learned a little about that, but nothing about Gakuhou's personal life because, again, it wasn't any of Korosensei's business. It wasn't something Korosensei needed to know to get the job done.
Everything we see in the anime is through Korosensei's scope and yet, he's rarely the actual narrator. Nagisa usually is. But my theory stands true. In episode 1, something Nagisa wouldn't know that Korosensei did was that flashback of why he became a teacher, something only Korosensei would know. Even though he wasn't the narrator at the time, nothing was actually done that wasn't out of his scope, but it certainly wasn't Nagisa, so why was Nagisa the narrator? Probably because Kaede put him there so she could hide from Korosensei's scope. Think about it.
If it surprised us, it surprised Korosensei. Akari's betrayal. Itona's existence as a "brother". Reaper 2.0 becoming a monster. Sorry, I have to say it again because, Akari's betrayal.
A lot of the hints about her betrayal lied in between the lines of gossip between students, something brushed off as unimportant by the teacher and as an after effect, the audience as well. I'm telling you, this shit is genius.
So the focus on the characters is not as simple as choosing who's in the spotlight at any given time. It is entirely dependent on who the main character is focusing on. And the reason the characters are so fully fleshed out, even so far as mistaking them for the main characters in the anime, is because the true main character focused that much on them.
He was a wonderful teacher and we, the audience, were also being guided by Korosensei throughout the entire anime.
And then he died and all that was left was this open potential for all the characters and, more importantly, for us as fanfiction writers and fanart artists to really go all out with what he left us. Think of it. I wouldn't dream of getting another season from Matsui, but man do I have ideas for fanfics. I mean, I've currently got 28 and counting and I only started a year and a half ago.
Anyway, that's it for this week's Fandom Saturday talk. What are your thoughts? I'd love to hear them. ^^ And if you have a suggestion as to what I should talk about next week, send an ask or a message and I'll do it. Have a good day!

Something else was supposed to accompany this post, but it’s taking longer than I thought. So, have this for now.
I’ve been listening to a lot of Missing 411 cases right now—well, forest/camping/cabin stories in general, and it had me thinking of Until Dawn. Then, I thought, what if I put the AC cast into a similar scenario . So, I did.  Yes, I make too many AUs, I know…
Premise: Karma invites his friends to his family’s winter cabin for a fun 1-week getaway. His brother, Gakushuu (because of course I’d make them brothers in this AU. Am I predictable? Yes), has somewhere he needs to be that’s closer to the cabin than their home (still pretty far, though), and he’s not on a tight schedule, so he decides to tag along for a couple of nights. There’s some stuff there that he needs to collect, too, so it works out. So while the group’s having fun and enjoying their time at the cabin, they’re unaware they’re being stalked by a cryptid. The fun doesn’t last for long.
I imagine they’d be in their late high school years or college. As such, I gave them their adult heights and I cut Nagisa’s hair.
I would have liked to add more people in, but that would’ve made such a big group. In fact, Nakamura wasn’t originally supposed to apart of this, but, well, I couldn’t resist adding her. Besides, the main cast of Until Dawn is 8 characters, 4 girls, 4 boys, so the addition was fitting.
I’ve only gotten a concept for this AU rather than anything substantial. I don’t know how much I’ll do with it or if I’ll even touch it after the next post. But I listen to these kinds of stories all the time, so there’s a good chance I’ll get into a mood sometimes.  I haven’t even decided if this takes place in Japan or Canada. I thought about switching it to Japan, as that might make more sense for them. I could switch the wendigo out for some sort of snow yokai—which one? I haven’t a clue. I’m not the most clued-in when it comes to most yokai.
But I think going with Canada is more…terrifying? First of all, Until Dawn introduced me to wendigos, and my God, they are frightening. I don’t believe in them—I don’t believe in supernatural cryptids in general—but I do believe that they are the scariest (As such, I find them the most fascinating and like consuming media about them).  Secondly, the group wouldn’t just be miles and miles away from their homes—they’d be in a whole other country that’s on a whole other continent. A cabin in the woods can already feel pretty isolated, but I think this just adds to that (Also, going on a trip to another country just sounds exciting. It might help set the mood for their trip before it gets dashed away. Also, the Asanos are rich—I can imagine them having oversea vacations spots. Oh, also—for some reason, this AU of all AUs made me think about Karma being referred to as an Asano. Like, he’d be called Asano/-san/-kun, and that’s…that’s a weird thought, haha).
(If I ever get to those parts) this AU would definitely include traumatic events and injuries, but I’m undecided if I’m gonna kill some of the group off. On one hand, ✨angst✨. On the other, I’d like them all to survive through this. There would definitely be a close call or two. For now, I’m leaning on the latter, but, well, we’ll see.

ASANO GAKUSHUU X READER HEADCANNONS
Before you ask......don't ask. Yes I like assassination classroom too.
This is a HC about Y/n and Gakushuu attending the same high school.
Tumblr media
Ohh boy do I tell you this boi fell hard for you.
And by 'fell' I mean literally fell.
It was one of those rare occasions his father being the disciplined father he is made Gakushuu walk home from school just because he didn't eat his roasted asparagus in dinner last night.
He didn't really mind tho. His home wasn't that far and he liked to see what's going on in the outside peasant world sometimes.
As he was passing a convenient store, he heard some commotion in the alley behind it.
He ignored it and started to walk his way, but he saw a glimpse of a grey uniform skirt and snapped his head towards you.
He saw you, clad in Kunigioka's grey uniform and surrounded by three tattooed bulk men.
"Come on little girl, just keep us company for some karaoke. You see my friends and I we all are really bad singers and would love some help."______"What makes you think I'm good at singing?"________" Oh I can tell you are naturally good at it little bird! Your angelic voice is like as sweet as honey to my ears."________"Back off."_________"What?"________"I said back off you pathetic excuse of a human being before I break your willy and shove it down your throats."________"YOU STUPID BITCH!!!"
He raised his hand, but before he could even swing you neck sliced him in the throat and kicked him down there. He clutched himself as you once again kicked him in his ribs and hope that the blow was enough to keep him down for a bit. You grabbed your heavy aluminium water bottle (those things hurt guys😭 not that I've been hit by one but I accidentally hit myself. it's a great, heavy yet non-obvious self defense tool so carry one around👍) and swung it towards one of his friends. A sickening clang could be audibly heard as you hit him in the head and Congratulations!! You eliminated one more player.
You turned around and swung it towards yet another person who skillfully twisted and yanked your aluminium bottle away from you. This person was similar to your build and was standing in a defensive position, so you kicked the only thing available to you, his shin.
You were surprised as you heard a rather boyish yelp as your victim fell to the ground and grabbed his aching leg. Only then you realized......
Shit it's the previous headmaster's son.
"Oh no!! I didn't mean to kick you are you okay?"_________"I'm fine thank you."
You moved your hand towards the part of his leg which was sprained and saw that he flinched. Clearly he was in pain and seeing that he took care of one of the guys who was hitting on you felt bad so you took him to your house to treat his injury no matter how much he refused.
That was it. That's how he fell for you.
He expected himself to fall for someone who was at the same level of genius as him, but apparently he was wrong.
Why you ask he fell for you? Because you were the only one who can kick his ass purple and speak sweet words to him at the same time.
Seeing that you were an average student, not too good not too bad, he didn't really have a problem with sharing his feelings for you with someone.
The first one to notice it was not Ren, but Karma. Or you could say that Karma found his theory to be correct as he eavesdropped on Gakushuu telling Ren about how he felt for you.
Ren, knowing his manipulating skills encouraged Gakushuu to manipulate one of the teachers to transfer you from class C to class A.
And so you did.
Gakushuu, Ren along with Karma and you. This was a particularly chaotic classroom.
You weren't really complaining, as your grades got better the day you stepped in the class. But you can't shake the feeling that ten pairs of eyes were watching your every movement.
(And lol that was so true😂)
Gakushuu only respectfully watched you and your subtle movements. The way you'd chew on your pencil or nails when you were stuck, the way your eyes turned big round and innocent every time you didn't understand a concept, the way you'd pick on your peach fuzz on your face when you were anxious. Every single habit, every little thing he loved about you, he would have it memorized. Heck when he was feeling stressed out about his future company finances (yes he's planning big) he would pick on his own peach fuzz and smile like an idiot as his heart relaxes and flutters at the same time.
Ren however, watched for your responses to guys. Every time the handsome professor walked in, (admit it, we all have one at some point in our life😏) you would sit up straight, your spine rid of any slouchiness from studying. The way you would cross your legs so your skirt rides up just a bit, and the way your gaze turned sly and your smirk naughty, yes this boy is serious about helping his best friend. Heck he would even come up to you and talk to you to get some type of reaction towards him, but figures out you didn't really like him (ouch!😢)
But Karma stared. And by stared I literally mean stared. Bore holes in the back of your head by staring at you too much. He didn't understand that a guy as corrupt as Gakushuu would fall for a disheveled angel like you. It's not that you weren't beautiful, but the combination of scary principal's son and a smol fluffy bean didn't seem very safe. At times you would even find Karma behaving as an older brother to you. And you weren't one to complain but rather happy that someone in here truly cares for you than judge you for your grades.
Add 7 other girls who were suspicious of you and that's all the people who keep staring at you during the time you're in class.
Every morning you hand in your homework, it was always Gakushuu. You would hand in your homework, he would scan it once and turn around to check others'.
But you knew better than that.
After school was over, you would make your way to the hallway but a strong grip held you back.
"We need to work on your Social Studies. You suck at it."______"But shuu!!!"_______"No buts. Get in the library and wait for me there."
He would drag you to the library and make you study your worst subject (which isn't fun at all🤢) but he would make it a LOT easier for you to understand.
Of course Ren gave him some tips to flirting. Hold her pinky, look in her eyes, compliment her and yada yada yada yada yada......
He did try one of them, but he almost had a heart attack from his heart beating so fast that he decided not to listen to his minio- I mean friend anymore and do it his way.
And honestly he loves his way!!
He loved the cute nicknames you made for him while you whined for him to release you. He loved it the way your face lightens up when he explains there was an easier way to solve an equation.
All the nervousness is his system had vanished.
He also got to the point where when you got an obviously easy question wrong, he would pinch your cheeks while grinning wide.
This made study time a lot easier for you.
You weren't aware that he was like that for and with you only. Only you made him feel that way.
But you found out soon when he got TOO comfortable one day and let it slip out.
"Y/n I think I have a crush on you."
As soon as he said it, blood rushed to your cheeks and drained from his.
Both of you were staring at each other for a hot minute before you broke the silence.
"You're kidding aren't you? I'm not even that smart or that much of a genius in anything. I- but-"
"Y/n I know that. But it's just something about you that I love. I- I can't express in words how much I adore you."
You were starstruck.
Asano Gakushuu. THE Asano Gakushuu likes you!!!!
But you still refused to believe yourself AND his words. Wondering if he was turning into a playboy like Ren.
All you could say was "Then show me."
The library was quiet and you two specifically picked up a spot away from other students, the librarian and surveillance cameras so both of you can goof off. Who knew that this was also the perfect place to kiss?
He gently took your hand as he first stared at your eyes and shifted his gaze to your lips. You acted confident as if you knew how to kiss but god knows you kicked the ass of your first boyfriend before he could even hold your hand.
His gaze stayed on your lips as he licked his and visibly gulped. You wanted to throw a snarky remark but seeing the boy was as edged as a cat you wouldn't dare.
Bringing one of his hands up to your cheek he slightly tilted his head as he came near you before stopping right where your lips weren't touching his but you could feel his minty breath. Obviously waiting for you if you were okay with this, you decided to close that painful space between the two of you.
As soon as your lips touched his, he was in charge. This wasn't a particularly deep or fast kiss. You weren't digging your tongues in each other's mouth but rather just moving your lips to each other, as if giving silent yet intimate messages to each other. His lips slightly glided over yours, and you definitely knew that the way he was kissing you, he was an expert hidden within an amateur. The kiss wasn't heated or passionate in any way, but it was sinfully sweet.
It lasted for about a minute, but felt like an eternity.
Pulling away he stared at you again softly before saying "Thank You" and intertwining your fingers with his.
You were too shocked to react to anything. You were an average student. You got into fights. Your mom always yells at you to behave. Your dad keeps telling you to improve your temper. Why the hell does this boy like you?
He noticed you were staring at him the same way you stared at the blackboard during class when the professor was teaching the quantum theory for the first time.
Now that this boy had finally kissed you, he was bold enough to reach out his thumb and running it over your lower lip before popping it in his mouth.
"Pineapple flavoured lip balm, huh? I thought strawberry was the preferred choice when it came to anything for girls. Including......" his eyes lowered to your legs which felt like they were bare naked in the tiny skirt.
"Shuu!!!! Don't stare at me!!" You shoved him away as he laughed and you covered your face with your sweater paws.
"I'm sorry dear. You are just so adorable I couldn't help myself." He said while stroking your hair.
Little did they know a certain playboy on the other side of the library was paying attention to them the whole time and a redhead was poking his head from above one of the bookshelves.

Karma decks Gakuhou (or: the moment we’ve all been waiting for)
Haha, yeah, you know that time Gakuhou hit Gakushuu and sent him flying into a wall?
Yeah, Karma kinda has a problem with that.
TW: discussion of child abuse. Not super graphic, but be aware.
As a kid, Karma always thought he would be the one to first know the feelings of his father’s hands against his face. He’d longed for it, almost - that sign his father cared about him enough to get angry, to be angry enough to hit him. He’s constructed the entire scene in his head and played it on a loop: Karma, saying the wrong thing or moving the wrong way as he always seemed to do in his father’s presence; Gakuhou, frustrated and empty of patience; the sight of his father’s hand rising in the air; the helpless knowledge of what was to come; the numb acceptance of the blow; and, finally, the loud smack! and sting of flesh. Karma knows this fantasy like he knows the scars on his hands. Gakuhou never needed force to hurt him, though; his words and the ever-present look of distant disapproval was more than enough to leave lasting, if not physical, scars.
Still, if his father ever was to hit one of his children, Karma would have bet on himself. The idea of his father hitting Gakushuu - his precious, perfect golden child who mastered every lesson taught with haughty ease - has never even crossed his mind. Until today.
Karma stares at the bruise blooming ugly across Gakushuu’s cheek. He thinks he knows what it’s from and who caused it, but he doesn’t know. Gakushuu is staring right back, eyes hard as steel, and he wonders if this is how Gakushuu felt when Karma was showing up to class bruised and angry.
“Was it him?” he asks, and he doesn’t need to clarify who him is; they both know who he’s referring to.
“Yeah,” Gakushuu says. “Guess he finally got tired of using his words.” He smiles too, like this is funny. Like this whole situation - like the purple and green mark on his face - is one big, funny, ha-ha, hold-your-sides-until-you’re-crying joke. Karma wants to strangle him.
No, actually, he wants to strangle Gakuhou. Karma turns on his heel and moves to do just that, but Gakushuu grabs his wrist and drags him back.
“Stop,” he says, exasperated, as though talking to a child. “I’m fine. I’ve taken harder hits when sparring.”
“You think that makes it better?” he asks, incredulous as he tries to free himself from his brother’s iron grasp. “You know the difference between being hit while sparring and being hit by your father? One of them is illegal.”
Gakushuu frowns. Karma, sensing the waver in his brother’s certainty, takes full advantage. He twists his wrist away and breaks the hold, but immediately seizes Gakushuu’s own wrist, holding him still and demanding his attention.
“Gakushuu,” he says. He taps a gentle finger against the bruise marring his stupid, perfect face. “This is not okay.”
Gakushuu breathes - a long, slow inhale he holds for a few seconds then releases in a gusty sigh. “I know.”
Karma chews at his lip, hesitating, before asking, “Has he ever-”
“No,” Gakushuu denies, quick and firm and leaving no room for argument. “He’s never done this before.”
“You’d tell me?” Karma presses. “If he has, or if he does again?”
“Yes.”
“Promise me,” he demands.
“Who’s the older brother here again?”
“Promise me.”
“Okay, okay,” Gakushuu relents, cracking a tiny grin that looks more real than any of the smiles he pastes on for his lackeys. “I promise I’ll tell you if he hits me again.”
Karma, solemn as a funeral, holds up a single pinkie.
Gakushuu eyes it. “Seriously?”
He nods.
Gakushuu sighs again. Rolling his eyes, he wraps his pinkie around Karma’s. “I promise,” he repeats.
Karma releases his pinkie, mollified for the moment. “Okay,” he says, then abruptly changes the subject. “So I was planning on making you buy me ice cream since, you know, I scored the highest on finals.” He flashes a smug grin at his brother’s groan. “But now I feel bad for you, so I guess I’ll buy you ice cream. I am the kindest, most loving and adorable little brother in the world, after all,” he preens.
Gakushuu stares at him. “You’re insane,” he says flatly. “You have so many screws loose, I’m surprised your head is still attached.”
Karma squawks indignantly, poking his brothers harshly in the ribs while crying mean! mean! while Gakushuu tries to fend him off. The tense atmosphere has faded, for now, and they’re both happy to see it go.
The conversation isn’t entirely finished, though. Later, Karma will probe into what life was like with just Gakuhou as a parent, and Gakushuu will ask pointed questions about the origin of the injuries Karma would always show up to class with and brush off. They will both get angry, they will both shout, and they will both part ways frustrated and hurt and so, so scared. Even later than that, though, they will both apologize (with a hug) and all will be forgiven, but not entirely forgotten.
They both learned a long time ago to always look after each other, even when no one else would, and those instincts, while rusty from misuse, still hold as strong as when they were little boys whispering promises through the sound of their parents screaming.
****
Later, Karma knocks on the front door of his childhood home. He hasn’t been there since he was eight years old, and maybe if he could feel anything other than the ice cold rage flowing through his veins he would be afraid or lost in the melancholy of past memories, but he can’t and he’s not. He pounds on the door again.
He expects a maid to answer the door, but when it opens he’s greeted with the sight of his father, barefoot and dressed casually, blinking at him in surprise.
“Karma?” he says. Maybe he was going to say something else too, but that’s all he gets out before Karma punches him in the face.
Karma has had a lot of practice hitting people. He’s good at it. He knows how far to pull his arm back, how to keep his wrist locked against impact, how to twist his hips for more power, and how to pour his whole body into a punch that leaves his target breathless (or, once, unconscious). He was good at it when he was fighting thugs on the street, and he got even better when Karasuma drilled proper martial arts concepts like form and technique into his head. Karma is naturally strong, and a year of hardcore physical training only added to that strength.
The point of this being: when Karma slams his fist against his father’s face, Gakuhou, unprepared for such an attack and faced with a trained, rage-fuelled combat assassin, goes down like a sack of rocks.
Karma doesn’t follow him. He stays standing in the doorway, chest heaving with barely-contained fury. His father pulls himself up so he’s sitting rather than sprawling across the floor, staring up at Karma with wide eyes as though he’s never seen him before. He hasn’t, really - not like this, anyway. In his father’s presence, Karma had molded himself into the perfect child; he was quiet, and sweet, and well-behaved. He said please, thank you, excuse me, I’m sorry. He was everything he thought his father wanted, but it didn’t matter because it still was never enough.
Karma hasn’t been that kid in a long time.
“That,” he says, flexing his hand and ignoring the sting of split knuckles, “was for Gakushuu. Maybe he won’t punch you back for your crap, but I will.” He crouches down, then, so he can stare his father right in the eyes. “This is your only warning. If you ever, ever, lay a hand on him again…” He flicks his wrist, and his switch-blade makes a brief, grim appearance before disappearing up his sleeve again. He looks directly into his father’s eyes, and he lets him see the resolve burning in his own. “I swear to God, it’ll be the last thing you do.”
Gakuhou nods, both an acknowledgement and acceptance. Karma smiles the cold, satisfied smile of an assassin and stands, knocking his knuckles against the door-frame as he leaves.
He shoves his hands in his pockets as he walks off down the street, whistling merrily to himself. Gakushuu will probably be mad at him later - if he finds out, of course - but Karma refuses to regret his actions. No one, not even their father, is allowed to lay a hand on Gakushuu and get away with it. That is Karma’s promise, made to himself and sealed with his father’s blood spilled in retribution.
He’ll keep it until the day he dies.

hey hey you’re one of my favourite assclass pages, so i was wondering who are your top 5 characters and why? sorry if you’ve already answered something like that hehe
heyyy 💜 omg stop im so flattered 😭 you’re one of my favorite blogs here too!!!! 💗 Your art and takes are always 🔥
Ahhhh this is a tough question haha! I can never make up my mind, but ig currently it is:
Sugino - always gonna love this boy, he’s just so funny, kind, and chaotic. Would 100/10 love him as a best friend/big brother type.
Irina - I think I just relate to her a lot, personality wise. I think she’s hilarious and adds so much to 3-E. Her story makes me sob tho and that’s a bonus.
Terasaka - if you don’t like him to some extent, I don’t trust you /j. He has the best character development and arc. He’s just such a lovable kid with a big heart.
Ritsu - my baby 💕 I feel so much affection for her, I can’t really explain it. I think about the potential her arc could’ve had. And idk she’s just so endearing UwU
Kimura - best gremlin lmao. He reminds me a lot of guys I went to school with, and I just have this fondness for him. He also reminds me a lot of my sister. I think his story is very interesting and sad in terms of what it provides as context for who he is. I just really like the funny, random persona I’ve given him in my writing 💕
Honorable mentions to Kanzaki, Gakushuu, Aguri and Okano who will eternally be some of my favs💜 either I personally resonate with them or I just simply like them lolol
ALSO I think you might agree with me on this one, but I have a huge soft spot for 2.0 and Reaper Koro 😂😂 Those two, plus Aguri, were my first fav characters when I got into AssClass
Thanks for asking!!! 💕💕💕

Big Five General Headcanons:
Because it's been a while since I've last talked about my boys <3
They're a one big, sometimes happy, sometimes crazy family. Gakushuu and Araki are like the parents since they're the most mature out of the five. Yes, Araki has had his fair share of shenanigans (usually he goes along with Seo), but he can act responsible when he wants to or when the situation calls for it.
And Gakushuu can't claim to always be the brain cell of the group because he's had his fair share of petty, immature moments. Most of the time, it's because he let Karma and Seo get under his skin.
Ren's like the cool older brother, which is ironic since he's the youngest.
Meanwhile, Seo and Koyama are the annoying younger siblings who can't not get in trouble.
So yeah, they're all idiots, but on different parts of the "Stupid Spectrum"
Yes, Seo actually invented the Stupid Spectrum for their stupid group, and placed himself on the "Not Stupid" side, above Gakusuu!! >:O
This lead to an argument between him and Gakushuu, which resulted in the other three adding their own two cents on how they should be ranked on the "Stupid Spectrum" which resulted in a full-blown debate between them all. Ren was the only one who wasn't yelling. How he maintains his composure is a mystery.
Gakushuu secretly envies Ren for his height. Why does he have to be the second tallest of the group?
The Big Five are well aware of this as well as Gakushuu's general disdain of being 2nd place, but Seo's the only one who brings it up to tease the hell out of his leader.
Seo has a death wish, okay?
Despite all that, the Big Five is still an organized and functional and, especially when it comes to studying.
However, after Gakushuu loosens a little in high school, things get chaotic little by little, and Gakushuu finds himself entangled into various crazy schemes prepetruated by either Seo, Koyama, or both.
After every study session, they hang out to destress. Gakushuu is not allowed to say no.
If he tries making excuses, Seo, Araki, and Koyama stare at his eye bags with matching looks that basically say "go on, I dare you to skip out on relaxing with your best buds."
And what does Ren, his best friend, do? He just stands there smiling before patting his shoulder and getting him to walk with them.
They usually chill at cafes or family restaurants. Sometimes, they go to Karaoke bars where Seo and Gakushuu have a singing competition. Ren'll join in if he feels like it, but his lack of competitiveness ticks the other two off.
While Gakushuu envies Ren for his height, the other three, especially Araki, envy him for his popularity with girls.
Araki has a romantic side and really wants to get a girlfriend so it really ticks him off when he sees Ren change girlfriends faster than his underwear. (Yes, he once said that and everyone laughed except Gakushuu, who shot the flustered Ren an amused smile)
Honestly, if these guys start giving Gakushuu grey hairs, he'll murder them! Of course, he'll hire hitmen to do that; wouldn't wanna get his hands dirty at the tender age of 16.

Until the Day I am Forgiven
Until the Day I Am Forgiven by Radianbow
At 10 years old, Gakushuu Asano committed suicide by overdosing on sleeping pills, laying in a forest, surrounded by nature.
When he woke up, he became a Grim Reaper- someone whose duty it was to collect and review souls, to judge if they go to heaven or hell when they die.
And now he's in the End Class

Do you have any headcannons as to how the Asano's would react if Lady Asano had an unplanned pregnancy while Gakushuu is in highschool? Do you think Gakushuu would be a good brother? Would Gakuho raise this baby differently?
Hi anon! Mwa ha ha, more fluff ! ヽ(^◇^*)/  Although, this also has a sizable portion ofangst along with it.
While the new memberof the family was certainly not intentional, Gakuho would be quite welcome to the idea of having another child. He missed his chance of being anything more than a teacher toGakushuu for much of Gakushuu’s early life, so he’d greatly appreciate thechance to learn what it means to be a ‘parent’ for a young child. He’s alwaysgoing to be a teaching nerd, and he’s still a very logical person, but judgingby his willingness to admit that he’s still learning what it means to be afather, he’ll definitely make attempts to balance those two qualities of his andadjust his parenting style to be more well-rounded.
As for Gakushuu, when he first hears about the new sibling, hewould be rather unhappy. He grew up starved of any fatherly affection, and hehas only been able to start bonding with Gakuho as family very recently. Havingsomeone else around who is guaranteed to steal away that new found attention wouldseem like a sick joke to him. He’d view the new kid as yet another competitor heneeds to keep below him.
It would certainly be a worry for Gakuho as well. After all,he has only just started trying to improve himself as a father, and he knows he’s only alevel 5 parent when being able to effectively deal with a teenager and a babyrequires a minimum level of 50.  He doesn’twant to destroy the progress he has made as ‘Gakushuu’s father’, but balancinghis various duties at his new cram school with spending a proper amount of timewith two kids is a challenge that no amount of book knowledge can rectify.
At first, it would seem like Gakushuu’s fears wereconfirmed. A baby takes a lot of time to take care of, and they tend to needcare rather abruptly as well. He’d be irritated every time the baby’s cries interruptshis and Gakuho’s “I’ll sue you for XYZ” sessions (or any other weirdconversations they might have). Moreover, he’d likely be expected to take careof or play with the baby a little bit, too, and he most certainly wouldn’tappreciate having his study time depleted for any reason. Plus, THE CRYING OHGOD. He probably doesn’t get enough sleep as it is. Hearing a baby’s cry at3:00 AM is certainly not going to help.
However, the new baby would end up being a bondingexperience. Every once and a while, while taking care of the baby,Gakuho might make a small remark about how the new baby reminds him of Gakushuuwhen he was a baby. He might tell Gakushuu that he slept in the same positionthe baby does now, that he liked the same stuffed dinosaur, or that he had thesame exact expression when he would cry. Slowly but surely, Gakushuu wouldlearn about what he was like when he was younger. Wanting to learn more,Gakushuu would ask his father questions in turn, so they would have manyconversations that never would have occurred if the baby had never been born.Realizing this, Gakushuu would begin opening his heart to his little sibling.
He would also begin to appreciate the guilelessness of thelittle fellow. Gakushuu’s so used to interacting with people who are only beingfriendly because they want something from him, so the fact that the babyliterally only wants him to hand him the dinosaur or play peek-a-boo would be arefreshing change. That candid happiness is a rarity in his life, so he wouldn’tmind playing the part of a good big brother if it means he gets to be his sibling’sunparalleled hero for a bit.
The kid’s so young compared to Gakushuu that it’spractically his baby, too, so I think a lot of things I listed in my headcanonsfor Gakushuu having a baby would be valid in this situation, too. For example, Gakushuuwould make an active but embarrassing attempt to be friends with his new siblingby singing along with the nursery rhymes, and Gakuho would take the new baby onwalks once old enough and teach them about the various wildlife living inKunugigaoka.
In the end, Gakushuu would be a little sad when he has toleave his new sibling behind for college.
Thanks for the ask, anon!

How about Yukiko Kanzaki for that ask meme you did? :)
hella rad ヽ(⌒∪⌒)ゝsure, why not?
what i like about them: she’s straightforward + calm, holy shit - for someone who looks so prim and proper, she actually smiled while she flipped the bird at her father + openly disagreed with takaoka. she’s got some spunk in her despite being such a yamato nadeshiko - bonus points since she’s a gamer chick lol
what i dislike about them: ??? i honestly can’t place anything here, and it’s not because of my bias to her - it’s more of because as much as she gets more spotlight compared to her other classmates, the scenes that show her still don’t really focus on her that much, so i honestly don’t have a clear picture of her character. heck - the other bits and pieces of her personality (and the rest of the cast) you only get to learn through the additional materials!
favorite moment: the civil war arc, hands down. i think i wouldn’t have paid much attention to her if this arc didn’t happen! it’s kinda a shame that she got eliminated quickly after her 3-kill combo, but i think it’s amazing that she was able to get to 3 people by just moving quickly as compared to nagisa’s 4-kill combo done in one sweep through good timing.
least favorite moment: uhhh… nah??? same reasons as the dislike portion.
a situation with this character that i want to see explored more: i want to see more of her juvenile phase, but maybe her daily family situation i want to see??? maybe when her grandmother was still around, or maybe something with her older brother? i still find it funny that her bro’s such a mama’s boy tho lol
an interesting au for this character: an au where everything remains the same even in the future except that… nurse yukiko kanzaki secretly sidelines as an assassin by night - nobody of class 3E knows about this, but her increasing reputation in the shadows eventually gets karasuma + irina’s attention, and eventually their pursuit. somewhere along the way, class e gets into the mix and the big question is: what made someone like yukiko continue the path of an assassin??? this is this is literally impossible considering how yukiko actually is, but heeey it’s an au!
a crossover: i struggle at thinking of crossovers… huh, but a persona 5 crossover would definitely peg her on the priestess / empress arcana.
otp: karma - to be fair i shipped this before the civil arc panels came to be, i’m crying
other ships: isogai // gakushuu
brotp: kayano // okuda // rio
notp: none that i can think of.
assortment of headcanons:
her being good with games is no joke??? like it only takes her a few seconds to get into a game and she can smoothly maneuver herself without problems + walkthroughs??? but she isn’t the type to rush through games either, she also takes her time playing and appreciating game mechs + bonuses + art & bgm + all that.
it was just shown for kicks during the exam but she can actually wield a naginata well thanks to her granny - tbh granny’s probably the one who brought video games into yukiko’s life bc she’s awesome that way
while she won’t be using them ever anyway, yukiko’s one of those class e students who still kinda retain their assassination skills - it’s probably bc some of the skills they learned are still practical in nature, so she still practices them as a result. she still also keeps a anti-koro gun with her - sometimes its just kept in her drawer, sometimes she tags it along for... reasons
she tells her patients stories about koro-sensei to cheer them up sometimes and its surprisingly works - those stories were meant to make them feel better but boy does she feel really happy herself when she tells tales about a damned yellow octopus
her brother asks her sometimes for love advice... and surprisingly, it works??? she also helps her brother out with his wardrobe bc he has no idea how to dress up, honestly - on shopping trips, they even end up buying more stuff for her brother than herself lol
