I actually opted for a dark gray wool instead of black this time and airbrushed in the shadows during weathering to create more visual depth than you typically can get with black fabric.
The feathers in the cape are a mix of strips of painted black gauze with some added real feathers for visual interest. I'd be down to make a tutorial for the gauze feathers if that was something people were interested in!

I DID!!! I'm currently using one of the detail shots as my icon. I finished it October 2021, I've posted a lot of pictures on twitter since that's been my main media presence in the past but for some reason the tumblr mobile app is being kind of weird as far as what photos it's letting me access to post from there. I'm terribly disorganized when it comes to my photo organization, so it's going to be a bit of a process while I work through re-collecting the pictures I want to post of various projects I've finished since I was last cross-posting them here.
(here's the picture I took when I first tried everything on together, but I'm planning on posting photos from the photoshoot I did sometime soon!)
I actually never really left tumblr, I just kind of stopped posting my sewing here and was hiding out on my personal sideblog, @sizzleitupwithtaako where I mostly just reblog stuff.
A little different from my usual posts... But I made a headcrab zombie cosplay for my local comicon and I wanted to post about it :) it was a very last minute thing so he was made from cardboard, aluminum and caulk! Really happy with the result
@dorian-mode and I were in a cabaret this weekend where we sang “Good Riddance” from Hades! I made our costumes because nothing in my closet yelled Orpheus and Eurydice to me and I’m so glad. We sounded fantastic and even had one person recognize the song! Everything turned out exactly how I pictured it and I’m very happy.
