Domaystic is the combination of “domestic” and “May” and it's a prompt event run on May based on the domestic trope: anything inside, outside, beside the house or that has that normalcy flavor of everyday life.

As last year, feel free to mix the domestic prompt with anything you like: more drama and lots of crying? YES! The thrill of an investigation for the disappearance of your characters’ fave socks? YES!

There's one prompt for each day for a total of 31 prompts + 5 alternatives with an exclamation point at the end (predictable!).

You can share your work on any platform you like. If you share it on tumblr and tag the blog, I’ll reblog it.

Combine more prompts together? That’s fine but I will reblog the entry only once here on tumblr.

Combine these prompts with another event? Fine too.

You don’t have to do all the prompts to join the event. Do the ones you enjoy.

The event is consistently checked upon during the month of May, but in case you want to share your creation at a later date, you can. I just reblog on a lower pace after May is over.

As for the reblogs, last year I gave myself a bit of an headache, so this time I’d like to try it this way: once the day of the corresponding prompt comes, people will post their work and then I’ll reblog it when that day comes for me too. Does it make sense? I hope so. I’ll miss the world clocks but let’s just trust each other.

Hanabi anon! I'm afraid I don't have much specific genshin fics as I tend to binge read certain authors instead. If I do like a fanfic, I usually just reblog.

Plus most of the fics that I do remember are for general yanderes or oc's for specific prompts. And I don't read much genshin on ao3 so nothing there either.

I can give you a list of my fav genshin authors. Most of their work is yandere genshin fics. Some have sagau and some are just yandere. And they do have full length fics and head canons in it.

Quite a lot of them have a tagging system in place so you can just use that to be shown their writing specifically. Oh and warning a lot of them have nsfw.

@yandere-daydreams - has a lot of full length yandere genshin fics. They got all kinds of au's that are amazing.

@ddarker-dreams - has quite a lot go genshin (Scara is the most) but also characters like Chrollo

@yandere-romanticaa - lots of full length fics/requests. Plus her if you like that.

@sagau-my-beloved- Venti centric with sagau and lots of fics! They got their own world building in certain posts too.

@yestrday - you need to use the tag system since they go into a lot of fandoms but the genshin ones are really good. Not full length fics but it's more than head canons. Like imagine sized.

@ventisslut - Another Venti centric. It's a mix of yandere and normal Venti. They don't write that much but they do reblog many wonderful fics.

@writing-genshin-obsession - the yandere genshin of yandere genshin. Yandere, sagau are both in their blog. But not many full length, more like brain rot.

Now @flokali - does not have many yandere genshin so you'll need to use the tags to find it. If you don't wanna then I'll rec a certain fic of theirs. Called Worship - Zhongli. If you just google their username and Worship, you'll find it.

@throwaway-yandere - warning they are retiring! But they have so many good fics to read too. The danganrompa themed was their going away (it's really freaking good). But I remember following them for their full length fics that almost always has a art cover. They write amazing yandere Alhaitham.

@chococolte - is sagau centric. Huge Zhongli fan and if you want to feed a god complex. Her fics are where to go. Just amazing choice of words in her fics.

First of all, thank you very much for understanding and being polite about stuff that you don’t like. I am very happy you could enjoy this blog despite the fact that there are some ships that you are uncomfortable with. I also absolutely agree with you that there is no reason to do anything when a person isn’t hurting anyone, and that goes for relationships too.

Second of all, while I can understand where your friends are coming from, I kind of have mixed feelings about the idea that proshippers don’t make clear that they don’t support this stuff irl. You said yourself that it’s obvious, and yes it is absolutely obvious. No one owes anyone an explanation or a declaration of not supporting this stuff irl because it’s the very foundation of proship/dead dove/anything related to this type of fiction: as long as it’s fictional, it’s okay. Fiction is not reality. This idea (that keeps being repeated by everyone all the time, including conversations proship people have with antis) pretty much states “I love this as long as it’s fictional and because it’s fictional, I would not be doing it irl. This is fiction, reality is reality”. It’s the default condition.

I think it’s unfair to state that all proshippers have to explain themselves because there are people among them who support this kind of stuff irl, because yeah there are, and there are people like that among the antis too. There are hypocrites who groom kids and cover it up by making it feel like they’re teaching them something good and unproblematic. There are bad apples everywhere, and thinking by default that a group of people is a bunch predators unless they specifically state “I don’t’ support irl incest” is kind of… not nice? And while this is probably not what your friends are doing, it sounds like a very convenient excuse to harass someone. “Well they didn’t make it clear enough that they are not a creep” type of thing. And it’s not like actually saying that you don’t support it irl helped anyone to avoid harassment. It surely didn’t help me at all, and I believe it worked exactly the same way for every other soul.

It’s one thing not to trust these kinds of people personally and to avoid them because you get bad vibes from them that make you uncomfortable, but in that case one would just block. It’s the mature thing to do. You shouldn’t fully trust people on the internet in general because you don’t really know them. But then again, not vibing with someone while ignoring them and harassing are two completely different things.

I can't help but wonder if Paul and Andrew would be flirting so much or even on this press tour together if something had happened. So I think either nothing happened between them (I am going to ignore almost everything Paul has said), or something is continuing to happen and we're watching it play out in real time.

Personal favourite insane press tour moment is the 'I could get you into dauphinoise potatoes' moment. Two Irish men flirting over potatoes feels too on the nose, but good for them.

listen, i fully acknowledge that all friendships are different. however, looking back at all of the different friendships i’ve had in my life not one comes even close to whatever these two have got going on lol. the fucking innuendos, my dudes. like???? ‘it was hot in many ways’ ‘ayyyeee’ & that weird slapping thing andrew did & paul was like ‘what were we doing?’ & ‘unsettled in a good way’ & that’s just to name a few. but as i said, just because i haven’t had friendships were we compliment each other’s arms doesn’t mean that friends can’t do that. & maybe that says more about me & my friends lol.

yeah, i’m still impressed how they managed to turn a discussion about potatoes into something sexual, however, that whole shower exchange in the same interview was way more side-eye worthy in my opinion. the way paul was looking for andrew’s validation there — ‘okay, great’ — like why do you care if your friend finds showering together sexy/romantic or not lol. & it’s also the fact that they don’t end up making it awkward, y’know?

About blocked anon. In general i agree with merms. Howevre. Ok im a silent reaer too for the most part. Tried a sideblog, but i get sidetracked and end up not using it. If the writer has an ao3 i try to leave a comment there but i have more trouble reblogging and interacting on tumblr fro some reason. I have been blocked too for not reblogging fics! But honestly I don't feel particularly bad about it cause I feel like I can't really blame a writer for blocking ppl who don't support their fics.

Like, it's not about talking to the writer, it's about reblogging their fics and show appreciation to the work they put in them and posting them for others. If that's important to that particular writer and they don't feel good with ppl who just lurk (like me) then it's their right to deal with it however they see fit.

I still look at their blog thoughthey just don't show on my dash. If anon wants to put the work and reblog and comment fics on a side blog if they don't want to do so on their main, and ask the writer to unblock them i'm sure they will (unless there's a different reason, like maybe the writer saw soemthign on anon's blog and was like "hmm don't like that". Can't do anything about that.)

I just don’t vibe with it, LOL. I don’t vibe with sniping people for being lurkers. 💅🏽✨ I don’t respect it, actually, if we’re going to get serious—yes, people can (and should!) curate their followings as they need to. If someone decides to deny you access to their online space then, no, you can’t do anything about it. I just also happen to think it’s one of the more stupid reasons you can block someone lmfao.

I know that the general (touted) thought process behind blocking lurkers is generally a parroted, “it’s about supporting writers”. And to be honest, I would respect the push more if people just admitted they wanted more comments LMAO. Because!!! I think that’s perfectly fine!!! It’s okay to be like, “hey I worked hard on this, and I would like to see a big fat number of notes or to have people in my inbox”. We are real people—real people taking the time and effort to create fun things for free, and it can be bitterly disappointing to have that met with silence or entitlement.

The solution to that though isn’t blocking people for being silent readers. Because that’s turning around and doing to them exactly want we don’t want done to us, as writers—it reduces them from being living human beings to numbers who are measured by how they can best serve (or “support”) you.

I can hear the “Merms this isn’t this serious, we just want more people to reblog fics” already but tbh… it is. I think it is because it lets the worst of us get away with treating each other really, really appallingly. You are absolutely allowed to deny someone access to your online space. But if you’re denying them that access and also making them feel bad (“you haven’t reblogged enough fics/you haven’t liked enough of my posts to fill the weekly quota/you’re not doing enough for me to be allowed to see this content I provide online publicly and for free”) then idk… sounds like ur the problem to me.

And look, I don’t say that easily. Tumblr has always been a site where mass hysteria breeds like mould; it tends to happen when online spaces become our Third Place for socialising. We don’t have the normal, social safety-rails that like, actual real-world Places like work or school have for us—we’re unleashed here in our downtime and feel protected by the anonymity of a screen. By the fact that we can’t see each other’s faces when we say things like, “you don’t do enough for me” to random strangers. I don’t like that! So I don’t police it on my own blog. 🫡

Fandom is one of the precious few spaces we have where anything goes. You can create whatever you want, however you want, and it’s all done purely for the love of it. It’s indulgent and silly and fun. So to come into this space and then directly make demands of the other people in it (“reblog x number of fics or else you’re not a real member of the community”) goes against the spirit of why we’re all in this shared space in the first place.

We can absolutely have a conversation about how to support each other—writers and readers—without fear mongering about lurkers being why “omg the community is dying”. I think the community is falling into a lull because people get obsessed with new things; a new show or game. New technology, like ChatGPT for instance, which gives maybe otherwise passive readers a chance to create their own fiction or pocket boyfriend, instantly. Maybe it’s even a generational thing—a change in how people socialise. We are in constant contact with each other, with constant availability—controlling what little we can, what we spend our energy on or how we engage with things in our third space is sometimes only control we have. I’m sure we could even dig digger about like, the consumerist behaviour and entitlements so many of us subconciously take on now—wanting instant updates or reading completed fics only or taking it for granted that we’ll be given an entire season to binge in one go.

I appreciate that writers want to push back against the audience entitlement that can come with creating readily available smut about popular characters. And yeah, reblogging does help showcase art and writing! But it can’t be demanded. It just can’t. Just how no-one has the right to demand you write how they want you to, or upload when they want you to, you don’t have a right to dictate how engage with your work (beyond not being dicks to it!!!!!! underscore!!!!!!).

Should we try and support each other, even through a small act like a reblog? Yes!!! It’s so so so good!!! Despite the essay I’ve just written, I am all for support being shown in whatever small way it can be!!!! But—there’s no entry fee, to being in a fandom. Not for lurkers, not for active readers, not for writers and not for artists. Demanding a fee like that just pushes people away and feeds them into traps like ChatGPT, which, while I understand and emphasise with it’s popularity (especially for younger readers), I will never support it. It’s using it’s current popularity as free training and when it’s learnt enough it will be monetised, but only after it’s stolen so much from all of us. And this is why we should protect the freedom of things like fanfic, and why we should say no to trying to turn each other into numbers or updates—we’re already products that are being sold, in so many other aspects of our lives. We desperately need spaces where we are free to be unhinged about little kissy stories and the characters they’re attached to.

chaeya has always been my #1 since i first got exposed to it, but honestly... zhongkae, dainkae, and albekae/kaebedo are QUICKLY making it a four-way-tie fr :') i'm kinda obsessed with those "doomed by the narrative" ships yfm?

What are you willing to RP when it comes to shipping?

pretty much anything? as long as there's nothing involving the usual icks. yknow. all the -icsts and -cests as well as SA and shit are a no-go for me! as for themes, i'm 100% okay with dark themes since. yknow. yaya can be a Pretty dark character. just no unplanned character deaths.

How large does the age gap have to be to make it uncomfortable?

hard line, no minors. absolutely not. as for kaeya, he's a fully functioning adult (mid to late 20s) that can make his own decisions. since there are people (and beings in general) in teyvat that are virtually immortal and well over 100+ years old, he's not adverse to them at all. now, in a modern world/setting/verse, the same still applies with minors but he wouldn't go for anyone in theirs 50s+... romantically. 30s-40s are still free game to him though :')

Are you selective when shipping?

not... really? what matters most to me is if 1) our characters have chemistry, and 2) i vibe with the mun OOCly. i don't want to ship just to ship, but i'm also not terribly picky when it comes to it. i'm fine with cross-overs, fine with multi-verses, OCs, etcetc. however, what i won't enjoy is, y'know. harem shit. i literally DO NOT care if someone has another rp partner or two that rp the same muses i do and also ship with those muses, but it starts to become a problem if there's a collection going on and they all have the same exact dynamics.

How far do steamy moments have to go before they’re considered NSFW?

the moment those mfers start touching certain spots or doing certain things (like grinding), i put the usfw/nsfw tag on and put pretty much everything under a read-more. if they're just heavily making out and feeling each other up without touching between then legs, then i leave it as suggestive.

Who are other muses you ship your muse with?

i... pretty much ship every character with kaeya except, yknow, his BROTHER, the kids, and lesbian-coded characters (yae miko, ei, navia, clorinde, ningguang, beidou, shenhe, ganyu, dehya, sara, arlecchino). characters that i DO ship yaya with are rosaria, albedo, ayato, thoma, alhaitham, kaveh, itto, wriothesley, neuvilette, kazuha, lisa, chiori, emilie, jean, mona, scaramouche, xiao, candace, kokomi, baizhu, shinobu, gorou, heizou, tighnari, cyno, layla, xianyun, sethos, yoimiya, sucrose... uh. lmao. help.

oh absolutely. i want us to be on the same page and understand each other's plans & wants for our characters. if there's no discussion over shipping, then it just won't happen at all. i need to have things plotted.

oh i love shipping! but it's not a priority, whatsoever. i like smashing my barbies together as much as the next person but i just want to get some good plotlines/stories going that both our characters can benefit from, and if shipping is thrown into the mix, then hey! cool. if not, also cool!

UHHHHH... like. idk. if it's with someone i vibe with and our characters mesh well, then i become kinda ship obsessed? but it doesn't take over my life or anything. i just get excited and maybe even a little emotional over them depending on the context, but like i said, it's not a priority in my life. i just love the little blorbos and flap my hands excitedly if something cute or sweet or whatever happens

honestly if we vibe OOCly and our characters get along well and there's just. For rules, fandoms I write for and etc, etc read below--they will be updated from time to time as I see fit!

I won’t write : Matchups, anything regarding rape or explicit self-harm (ie: X reacting to the reader cutting). Explicit NSFW (ie: sex scenes, gore is fine)

I will write : Yandere, AUs, fluff, platonic and romantic interactions. Continuations of previous works, short scenarios, headcanons. In-depth analysis of characters. Basically free real estate, don’t hesitate to ask if you’re unsure about your prompt!

For Reader based requests, I’ll always use gender neutral pronouns and keep things as vague as possible. The only exception to this are LGTB+ prompts (ie : X comforting a dysphoric S/O. Y reacting to the reader coming out. Etc). Requests asking for general fem!Reader/male!Reader will be ignored.

Please, refrain from using characters from other media as reference when requesting a specific type of reader insert (ie: a reader who acts like Strategos Six from Ava’s Demon). I’m not in every fandom nor I know every character ever or what exact traits you’re hoping to see, so simply describe what you’re looking for! Don’t be afraid to send two asks if it gets too long. That helps me a lot when writing!

The max of characters per ask is 5 for now. When sending a prompt, please make sure not to mix fandoms, just so it’s easier for me to organize things. Thank you!

hmm so last week i was trying to think of why it might be that ppl suddenly started shipping Rise Leo and Yuichi Usagi (a "never met" crossover ship) when the Usagi Chronicles series was teased in 2021* and I think it might just be because it's so easy to change this iteration of both the ship and characters - a lot of the appeal of fanworks these days is full bespoke fan AUs and redesigns.

so I think this Usagi was just easier to sorta project new ideas onto, since he doesn't come with 35+ years of comics history. He's like a clean slate. especially if folks don't watch/don't care to look into the series.

which I kinda get, from an artistic perspective, creative endevours are always more fun if they're new and something you can make your own, right? or at least that's one possible aspect (of both this and fanworks in general)

but from a fannish perspective, my brain is also going like, "oh noo, my blorbo..." xD

and it's also a bit sad that folks ignore the og comic completely in some cases or just, don't look into it out of interest at all lol. I guess I kinda get that too, sometimes in some areas of the world, comics are really hard to get by and maybe some are like me, who want to read them on paper. It might also just be that older comics are unappealing to younger fans (?) but that would wholly be an assumption, since we don't really know all the reasons other people don't get interested in things like comics. I doubt many Rise fans have read the og TMNT comics either (it's fine, cuz again, younger audience + that's sorta the point various animated series sometimes - to get the new audience into the old comics - and sometimes it doesn't go like that)

the other thing is also that technically, Yuichi Usagi seems to be like the Gaumont/Netflix crew's way of making like a fun fanwork in the form of Samurai Rabbit: the Usagi Chronicles. Many of the project leads were fans of Usagi Yojimbo and even some of the voice actors had read the comics as kids or had seen Usagi in the old TMNT series (from the SDCC interview with Stan and crew). Boy even has the Stan Sakai signature under his shoes, lol x3 So he is in some way already a fan-character and has a lot of those "new character" features that might be appealing to some (the hair and clothes are very "generic modern boy") and appealing to change drastically as well.

but anyway, yeah like... I've been around fandoms for a long while so I don't mind much that people are gonna have different tastes abt fanworks and how to write characters, etc. Everybody ships their niche ships differently. it's just interesting to think about, cuz there's so many ways to make fanworks in general and so many ways to define fandom or fandom ships and so on. like it's just something interesting I realized while having a bus ride.

*you can correct me on when the leochi/leochi ship became popular and when people started properly watching the SRTUC series, at least going by tumblr tags (more reliable than twitter, for tags at least) and I'll make any corrections about the timeline of tags here on tumblr xD Going back through the tumblr tag for "leosagi" and "leoichi" you can see a sort of a sharp drop in old leosagi "content" (fanart, fic, posts etc) and then the new stuff, mixed in with various fan designs for a Rise!version of Miyamoto Usagi and other designs and ideas. but I think there needs to be some sorta archive blog for this cuz honestly, going through the tumblr tags without a pages system is... so annoying xD Like I am not in university anymore so I don't feel like doing this sorta stuff (archiving by screenshots or by reblogs) but dang.... sorta feels like this would be nice to have lol

I actually have more than I'd like to have. They're a mix of canons and ocs, but because I was hoping to avoid spending too much time online I've limited myself to Jade. I miiiight be open to writing them on discord, however.

I can't stand big icons, gifs, oversaturated aesthetics, or overly formatted text. Anything with more than three colours in general makes my head spin, and there is a reason why I never make my graphics too flashy/fancy. for the same reason I can't play games with a lot of light or games that are overly bright for more than an hour. I think I'm one of those people the warnings in certain games pop up for. 😔 It's unfortunately not just "I dislike it" but it just gives me a headache and nausea to stare at them for long periods of time. Muted colours or monochrome is nice to my eyesight and I use my ears whenever possible to lift some burden off my eyes. Small text are just the right size for my eyes, but small small text are nigh unreadable I have to copy paste them onto another text editor and tweak them back to a normal font size.

Hmmm. This is a bit hard to choose because I've had good memories of all of them. Gens//hin was probably the only fandom that I've ever had a bad experience with. But it's also probably because the other fandoms I've been in are very small there was hardly any room for discourse or drama. The Fate fandom.. though... I apologize in advance to whoever is still into Fate, but because I have a few friends in Fate and Fate itself is a very flexible fandom, I tend to follow the same friends across my blogs and follow their friends by extension. Throughout the years I've seen wild stuff going on there and not having context feels like watching a house in the opposite street caught fire and you're fine until it decides to burn its way to your door.

if i seem disinterested i think it’s partially life getting in the way and partially me realizing i need to not burn myself out keeping up with fandom stuff and trying to have something to say all the time. not that i've lost my interest or that i don’t want to still do analysis but rather my thoughts about it would get too mixed up in discourse that sometimes it gets in the way of me just enjoying what i enjoy about it and generally when i do some kind of analysis post it’s either because i’ve been prompted by an ask or it’s in response to something i saw other people say but i’ve kept myself increasingly insulated from the fandom so i end up feeling like i don’t have much to say. and tbh sometimes i just get a little bored during big ensemble arcs like the war arcs lol BUT!! i assure you if i no longer had any interest in bnha i wouldn’t be bothering to keep up with the manga

now a bit of a rant to answer your question:

in the broad strokes of the story i'm impressed with how much compassion bakugou's character arc gets handled with. he's still responsible for his own actions of course but at the same time there's a lot of emphasis put into showing how much of his behavior and the things that happen to him are the result of how the adults around him have failed him and yet on a micro level so often are bakugou's feelings invalidated or played off as unreasonable for the sake of comedy or is adults disrespect for him glossed over for some cheap appeal to emotion

like that little bit in the middle of the paranormal liberation war arc where snapshots of deku, bakugou, and todoroki's families are shown and mitsuki's looking through a scrapbook of pictures of bakugou feels especially egregious to me. i in no way doubt the sincerity of her love for her son but it's just a teeny tiny bit difficult for me to care about their relationship when their one singular onscreen interaction involves her mistreating and belittling him, y'know?

when it comes to best jeanist, personally i'm still not over how he treated bakugou and i wish there was more acknowledgment of that but i can maybe take the whole hero name reveal as a sign that he understands he didn't Get bakugou and it's not like i'm mad that other characters care about bakugou's wellbeing lol but that being said, when the narrative tries to frame it like bakugou and best jeanist have some significant bond on par with other mentor/mentee relationships in the story it just feels hollow imo

TL;DR have my feelings toward best jeanist changed? not really lol
