Crepictober Day 9&10: Tradition & Makeup

Ugh was sneezing the entire time making this but gotta persevere.

I decided that the tradition would be them wearing traditional Indonesian clothes, which is kebaya (BUT MODERNIZED.) and... Glitter make up, I guess.

(sorry for skipping about 4 days i'm throwing shade at art block) expect more holes and gaps inbetween days tbh 😔

If you guys have been following me for a while you would know that a while ago me and my friend drew the Dreamtale Twins together in kebaya. Now this is also based on that, but it's crepic.

In fact I took the time actually designing and picking out patterns for them (what if I draw more AU Sanses in Kebaya-)

Batik is a traditional technique to create these unique patterns on fabric, each pattern has its own story and philosophy. In here I demonstrated them wearing the fabric as a skirt, but it can also be used as a scarf or a shirt.

Do note that I am not an expert about Indonesian culture so info might be inaccurate, shame I know.

I don't think I'd be thinking this much about Viggo & Orlando now (25 yrs later) if it weren't for the fact that Orlando regularly seems to get inflicted with, some quite intense attacks of love and nostalgia and feel the urge to do some serious rainbow farting (as some has so loving called it) over Viggo.

For instance, I think the very first thing I came upon, as I googled the two for the first time in years, is this facebook post from Orlando.

That "LOVE" he put over the pic... Well, he's obviously the most adorable and most dedicated fanboy for this "human legend". Seems he can't get over the past either. I wonder what brought about his need to gush over his beloved former co-star and superhero at this time? Maybe it was that minor reunion they had earlier in 2017, with the crew of Captain Fantastic. He met Viggo, and was in awe again?

And then mustn't forget this amazing instagram post with an epic ramble of love.

I wonder where did this sudden extreme burst of love for Viggo come from? Did Viggo send him a poem or what? Something made Orlando lay down at the Viggo-altar and surrender completely to his superhero. He doesn't send public HBDs every year. I think maybe this is the only time, actually. And he did go a little off rails with this superfanboy post. (I mean "the benevolent king of our hearts"? "the greatest human"? And also "leggy". Aww!)

Viggo really seems to be the ultimate man for Orlando, it's really quite touching. I wonder if the post made Viggo contact Orlando to tell him he's nowhere near perfect, in that slow drawl which seems to make people want to follow his lead. And let him be the king (of their hearts).

It's been a long time since Viggo said anything more about Orlando than "the elf prince Orlando Bloom" or "the magical elf" or whatever he says. And the discrepancy, over the past two decades, between the number of photos and such we have of V&O (so few!) and the level of worship Orlando has displayed in these posts and elsewhere is quite curious. Is Viggo such an elusive man-king? Leaving his love-lorn subjects to pine from a distance?

Again, I hope someone will manage to unite the whole fellowship soon, so the love can flow freely.

Finally home.

The last five weeks have been quite the adventure. Not always for the best reasons, but hey-ho.

The journey back from France was a long, rather arduous one. An extra two hours on the road. Stuck in awful traffic in the early hours. Home at 4am. A couple of hours sleep, maybe.

So I got out on my bike after we spent a couple of hours transferring things from the motorhome back into the house.

Short ride to Costa. Massive cappuccino.

Also got a few extras on top of the normal grocery list. I'm starting on the HBD ("Human Being Diet" - by Petronella Ravenshear) programme tomorrow. First two days is nothing but veggies, water and black coffee if you want it. Ugh. For some reason that feels worse than two days with nothing but veggies to eat 😋.

I am trying new things. Desperate for a cure for the chronic inflammation (the mucus thing) I'm suffering.

This is my new attempt.

So yeah, I went out with a bang, and relished my last very milky, very strong, enormous coffee for a while!

And you know what? Not long after that, I started with an epic flare up. Hmm......

All to make Asia Vieira—yes, the actress from Omen IV: The Awakening, who’s forever in our hearts like a warm, nostalgic VHS tape from childhood—feel like the true queen she is. Because honestly, who else does something like this? Hollywood? Pfft, let them be jealous.

Our tribute is called The Omen at the End of the World. Why? Because it sounds cool, and also because inspiration works in mysterious ways. Just like our budget, which could generously be described as ��nonexistent.” But hey, it’s all about the passion, right? We’re pretty sure we managed to capture at least a fraction of the magic Asia brought to the world with her talent.

The story revolves around Agent Clue, who’s basically a guy hanging on by a thread, trying to save the world while throwing out sarcastic one-liners and dreaming of a vacation. His boss? The brilliantly insane Juan Pedro Bandero. This guy doesn’t just bend the rules—he breaks them, burns them, and laughs while doing it. In the opening scene, he manages to shoot one of his own team members. Why’s he holding a banana in his other hand? Well… we’re not entirely sure, but it’s funny, and it was a lot cheaper than proper props.

Some might call this “trash cinema”, but don’t be too quick to judge. This isn’t just trash—it’s trash with a hint of arthouse. Instead of the expected rock soundtrack, we went with a full symphony. Imagine Mahler’s soaring melodies paired with shootouts, screaming matches, and moments of raw emotion. Sure, some might call it chaos, but we say it’s art. Both are right, honestly.

And the filming process? Oh, that’s a story in itself. Locations? Easy. Need an epic opening shot? Let’s head to the train station. Final battle? Why not our own apartment? Elf costume? Grab some pillows and socks; done. Yep, we have an elf. Nope, we’re not telling you what role he plays because it’s tied to the big (okay, absurd) plot twist. We did what we could with what we had—for the art. And, of course, for Asia Vieira.

So, did it work? Well, that depends on what you’re expecting. It’s not a Cannes contender. But it’s a film that’ll make you smile, laugh, and maybe even tear up at the sheer dedication. Every frame is a love letter to the actress who inspired us.
