I have always gravitated to the Hermit card. While working on Pastoral Tarot, I spent long hours in the studio in quiet contemplation and creative reverie. While painting The Hermit, thoughts of days living in New England surfaced and played a part in the painting process. I've been in Florida for half my life, but I can still remember how enchantingly quiet the woods were after a snowstorm. I can almost feel the cold crisp air as if it were yesterday. The beauty of a winter landscape came through my paintbrush and fed a narrative of solitary reflection. still workshopping it but heres a deck that i use! alot of times i have dogs instead of armor because it always erases my decks :( (iguess thats what happens when you play on a school computer gtjfdiuhfds) anyway! i dont really make use of any. actual mechanics. the entire idea of this deck is idont wanna be stuck w/o an item card, and all of the hermitcards are pretty decent

i actually call it hermitgals (<- FALSE thERES NO STRESS) and its funny because its hermitgals minus false and stress

Healthy and unhealthy isolation. Anxiety, fear, shame pain and deep helplessness can describe how loneliness can make a soul feel. “Some people can go for a walk or listen to music and feel that they are deeply in touch with themselves. Others cannot.” Many great thinkers have championed the intellectual & spiritual benefits of solitude, Lao Tzu, Moses, Nietzsche, Emerson, Woolf, but many modern humans seem hell-bent on avoiding it. 

“Every single time we have a chance to go running we plug in our headphones. Every time we sit in the car we listen to the radio, I mean, my students today tell me they can’t go to the bathroom without their phone on.” - the Atlantic. That is where solitude comes in. Such a separation requires what psychoanalysts refers to as the “capacity to be alone.” You have to have that capacity, the ability to know that you’re going to survive, that you’re going to be okay if you’re not supported by entire group. Put another way, a person who can find a rich self-experience in a solitary state is far less likely to feel lonely when alone.

Whosoever is delighted in solitude is either a wild beast or a god. Solitude vivifies but isolation kills. There is a different between some time and space out, VS exile, being anti-social, a misfit, sadness and dangerously withdrawing from loved ones. “The monotony and solitude of a quiet life stimulates the creative mind.” – Einstien. “Silence is only frightening to people who are compulsively verbalising.” – William S. I love the Hermit card for many reasons. Here’s the first reason, my birthday (month, day, year) adds up to the number 9, which is the number of the Hermit card. I’ve often felt like this Hermit, alone and searching. Searching has become my life’s work. This beautiful life I created for myself, was created due to the inner work I’ve done. So is it a co-inky dink that this card reflects my birthday number ? I don’t think so! I think I came to this earth to be a seeker of inner truth. Traditionally the Hermit card is about introspection, going within so deeply that you can emerge with meaningful awarenesses so you can share them with others. It’s that meditative phase of our lives where we are trying to figure it all out. For me, this card has always represented the art of going within over and over again. To see the shadow side and do the actual work with it. Ya know what I love about going within and dealing with the shadow and fear and sadness, and insecurities? Once I walk through them, they can never own me again. Do I still fall back into old patterns once in a while? Yup. But they don’t own me or run my life anymore. It may be that you are somebody that feels isolation to the outside world…

The magick you use will start to rapidly increase what they call coincidences and what you believe will attract way beyond what law attraction states what is a universal law because you have always been the creator…

You may feel that is if your not bound by the physical plane but have to wear a mask just to be normal in there eyes in order to lower your vibration back to your regular character…

This is what I call your first step into your Initiation into the ascended mastery awareness of the godself….

Mastery is just a word here when in comes to true adeptness…

Mastery does not stop with your ascension because there are always many lessons to learn that are hidden…
