Work Perks (Homelander x Reader)
You’re Homelander’s new favorite worker bee. It’s a mixed blessing.
NSFW. Warnings for dubious consent, coercion, toxic workplace power dynamics, oral, anal, and it’s the Homelander we all should be running.
Tumblr media
Some perks came with having caught Homelander’s attention. One of them was moving from a cubicle in the trenches of Vought Tower to your own private office. Another was that an offhand comment about knee pain resulted in a state-of-the-art convertible standing desk, accompanied by a bouquet of roses next to your keyboard. He even left a note.
Need to make sure those knees are in working order, right? ;) - The Homelander
You don’t know why he felt the need to write you a signed note. He’s the only one in your life with such a frivolous grasp of an insurmountable bank account.
Keeping the positives of this “relationship” in mind was important. When Homelander’s advances started becoming obvious, you thought your coworkers would hate you. No one else at Vought rocketed to importance as quickly as you had, and you wouldn’t fault anyone for seething at the favoritism. Instead, whenever you passed an old office buddy in the lunch room or the halls, they gave you nothing but sympathy. Homelander had kept up his shiny reputation with the world for decades, but the inner sanctum knew better. Each shiny toy bestowed upon you came with a cost. They knew a contract with the devil had been signed, and you weren’t the one holding the pen.
So, with little other choice, you focused on the good parts. The desk cost more than two months’ rent, and it kept your knee from locking during your insane hours. Your productivity soared to the point that you were smiling to yourself when the door opened.
“Oh, look at you,” Homelander coos as he struts towards you. “My little worker bee in her element.”
There goes your productivity. Still, you smile at the hero as he saunters closer. “Hi, Homelander.”
“Hi,” He stops to run his gloved hand over the desk’s outer edge. “So, what do you think? You like it?”
“Very much,” You tell him honestly, your fingers still typing away at your dozens of e-mails. “Thank you.”
Homelander waves his hand in mock modesty. “Oh, come on. You’re the one making the company run, right?”
A huge exaggeration, but that’s his specialty. He slowly takes off his gloves and leaves them by your monitor. He then saunters over to the desk controls on the side of the wood. With a quiet hum of intrigue, he presses the button to raise the desk. He keeps hold until it’s as high as it can go, leaving the keyboard in line with your neck. He then lowers it all the way down so the keyboard aligns with your knees. He then repeats the process, not minding that you’re still trying to do your work. He does it again. And again. Up. Down. Up. Down.
“Please stop that.”
He laughs, but obliges. You feel him walk behind you to stand behind your back. One hand settles on your waist. His chin comes down to rest on your shoulder. He says nothing for a while and watches your attempt to continue working, his fingers lightly drumming against your waist. Finally, he chuckles. “Your blood pressure’s awfully high. Tough e-mails?”
You swallow heavily as your typing rate continues to decrease. “Yeah. Very tough.”
Homelander chuckles again and gently kisses the side of your neck. “You’re so cute.”
You have no reply to that, and he allows you to work for a few more minutes. You manage to get two more emails sent. As usual, it doesn’t take long for him to get bored. He starts brushing soft kisses along your neck, soft kisses that evolve into sucking against your skin, sucking that turns into little nibbles along your collarbone. One hand stays on your waist while the other trails down your skirt. He grabs a handful of your ass. You let out a sharp gasp. “Homelander-”
“I don’t like this dress,” He mumbles against your skin. “It’s not flattering.”
You’ve had this dress for years. Prior to Homelander kicking down the door into your life, you had a very average living. An average living didn’t afford you the luxury of buying the lavish outfits Homelander prefers.
“We’ll have to replace it,” Homelander says, emphasizing his point with another full squeeze of your ass.
“I like this dress,” You murmur. He’s begun taking over your wardrobe, but you have been more resistant to losing your personal style.
As if reading your thoughts, he breathes a dark chuckle against your neck. “Aw, my little doll doesn’t like dress up? What’s the problem? A million people in this building would kill to be in your pretty little shoes.”
There’s an edge of a warning in his final words, but you don’t dare take the bait. You don’t want to tell him what he perceives as envy is horror. Maybe a few poor souls haven’t seen through Homelander’s porcelain grin, but you remember your coworkers' sympathetic looks with each new “gift.” You didn’t offer yourself to the wolf; he found you.
Homelander’s hand slides underneath your skirt. He growls against your neck as he feels the soft fabric of your underwear, dexterous fingers wrapping around them and pulling down. You gasp quietly, your fingers finally pausing in the frantic typing. “Homelander, I have so much work to do today.”
“Okay? I’m not stopping you.” You feel his eye roll as he lets go of your waist, but only to continue pulling your underwear down your body. It ends with him kneeling between your legs, his hot breath too dangerously close to your sensitive skin. “Fuck, I love the smell of this cunt.”
There’s a window on your office door. If anyone passed by, they would see this. That doesn’t stop Homelander from pushing his face up your skirt and licking a slow line up your pussy. You gasp, your hands flying forward to grab the edges of your desk. He chuckles against you. One of his hands grabs the back of your thigh to hold you steady, and the other moves to grab a handful of one cheek, squeezing and spreading you wide. When he’s decided you’re steady, he licks you lazily. The Homelander loves to eat you out. He does it whenever and wherever he can. He’s loud and unabashed, growling and sucking on your lips like you’re his favorite meal. It leaves you shaking every time. His hold on you and your white-knuckle death grip on the desk - the desk he gave you - keep you from turning into a puddle. He barely touches your clit until little moans of pleausre start escaping your lips. Only then does he angle his tongue down to flick at your little bud with a practiced precision that makes any remaining good sense flee your body. “Fuck, Homelander...”
“That’s my girl,” He growls in approval, pressing his face impossibly closer against your cunt. His hand on your ass travels around to thumb at your clit lazily, his tongue pressing up inside you. The gentle fucking of his tongue is so distracting that you nearly miss how his thumb travels south, rubbing slowly over your ass, and then presses against your asshole. You gasp, unconsciously bucking back into him, and his thumb slowly slides inside of you, and you moan. Homelander’s low chuckle against you is sinful. “I knew you’d like that.”
You can’t form a reply by his design. He goes back to sucking your clit, his thumb slowly fucking your ass, and your orgasm takes you by surprise. You hear him growl as your juices drip into his mouth, a meal he eagerly takes, and the pleasure rolls through your body. You bury your face against the desk to stifle your moans from alerting the rest of the building just what the leader of the Seven is doing to you in your office. You’re still recovering as you feel him pull away. Homelander lifts one of your legs onto the desk, your shin resting on the cold wood. “Up we go,” He murmurs, then reaches over to lower the desk so your hips are in line with his. “Damn. This thing really is multi-use, isn’t it?”
Your legs are fully spread, your skirt tossed up. It sends the gifted roses to the floor, but Homelander doesn’t spare them a glance. Your raised leg leaves you little mobility, but he seems to get a real kick out of leaving you at his mercy. You hear the familiar sound of his belt - that ridiculous eagle - coming undone, and then his hard cock is pressed against you. He feels hot, and your fingers curl to fight an arch back into him. Then, he slowly presses his cock against your ass. You jolt; you haven’t done this with him before. “Homelander…”
“Oh, come on,” He growls, need and impatience heavy in his voice. “You came like a faucet at just my thumb in your ass. You telling me you don’t want this?”
You’re not rejecting him; you’re not even sure if you could. But he turns sex into a marathon and leaves you a mess every time. You don’t know if you could handle him fucking your ass over your desk. The thought alone makes you shake, but that gives you your answer. You let out a shaky breath. “Just…just be gentle, please.”
He surprises you by leaning forward and brushing a kiss on the top of your head. “Of course…gonna stretch my doll nice and gentle,” He murmurs against your hair. He takes himself in his hand and slowly, achingly, pushes inside. His hands both move to your hips when he bottoms out. The moan out of his mouth is filthy and loud. If you could think straight, maybe you’d be concerned about the whole floor hearing you. But even if they did, they’d know exactly what was happening and who was doing it. No one in their right mind would interrupt the Homelander now.
He fucks your ass slowly at first, giving you space to adjust, but never stops moving. His grip on your hips will leave bruises, and you remember how much he’s holding back. This man could tear you apart without even trying. In a way, he already is. His cock has a way of fucking the most difficult parts of this situation out of your mind. The more your body adjusts to him, the more heat tingles along your spine. Your eyes roll back, your moans getting louder to match his own.
“That’s it. Knew you’d like this, you slut,” Homelander growls, emphasizing his words with rougher thrusts. “Been wanting to fuck this cute ass for so long.”
One hand deftly moves around to rub quick circles at your clit, and then pinches it between his fingers. That’s it for you. You whimper through your orgasm this time, the pleasure sending the energy out of your body, and he follows right after. He almost sounds pained as he comes inside you, his hand on your hip shaking against your skin. His face rests against your head, and for a long moment, he says nothing. Finally, he curses under his breath. “Fuck.”
You shift, his softening cock still inside you. “What?”
“I really wanted to fuck your tits,” Homelander complains. He reaches around to give one of your breasts a squeeze. “They look so good in this blouse.”
You can’t help a quiet huff of laughter. “You got really sidetracked, then…”
He snorts and leans down to kiss your exposed collarbone. “Can’t say I’m disappointed,” He kneels down and finds your panties, pulling them back into place. When you squirm, he chuckles. “Relax. You won’t be wearing them for long.”
That only means one thing. You’re getting no more work done today. You’re getting whisked away to Homelander’s penthouse, where your only job is to please him. To survive him.

I worry about my friend sometimes. I mean we're both nerdy guys and aren't exactly big but even still he's very skinny. I mean he eats perfectly fine, he's very healthy and all that but he always remains just as skinny. He even said himself he's tried and wants to get bigger. Maybe I could help his with this BoGo offer thing.
Subject: Order #10108
Dear (REDACTED),
Thank you for your recent purchase from The Spiral, home for all your transformation needs! Your order #10108 has been received and is on its way as we speak. Your order includes:
(1) Thick_From_Thin(Nerd)
(1) Mystery(Self)
Expect delivery in 3-5 days.
Sincerely,
The Spiral
We knew you’d come around and round and round and round…
A few days later, an email came through from the Spiral. Included at the top was a photo. You hadn’t seen your friend in a few days, but even then you hardly believed it was the same guy:
Tumblr media
They went on to detail how they caught up with him while he was leaving work one evening, caught him completely by surprise, and tossed him in the back of their van, peeling off into the night. He was quickly stripped and had his hands and arms strapped down so that the processing could begin. They administered a pretty standard concoction of hormones, numbing agents, and accelerants mainly focusing on muscle growth. Of course, to keep up his rate of growth, he needed to be pumped with an almost constant stream of protein shakes. Each muscle swole larger and larger, forced to its limit through chemicals and pure calories. Not to worry though, any and all extra fat was carefully suctioned out to be saved for later purposes. He fought like a tiger the whole time, and towards the end of his processing he did manage to snap a strap and made a grab for a technician. So, apologies, but an additional service fee for a personality change will have to be added. A quick prick and his rage was quickly converted to exude cockiness and vanity. Do not worry, a full personality replacement was not selected, so your friend will have many of his same quirks and interests, with just a layer of ‘bro’ layered on top. Finally, we made a few minor mental adjustments, overwriting the last two years or so to line up his current state with his memories, and before an hour was up he was dropped on his front lawn, new gym bag with supplements in hand to ensure consistent, continuous growth.
You were pretty shocked by the results. But looking at his after pictures, damn. It was hard to argue with results. You doubt he would consider himself small now. Mostly, you were worried about how tough his transformation ended up being. Would yours be that severe?
You wouldn’t have to wait long to find out. As you scrolled on your phone that night, a video of a spiral came across my feed. You knew you should ignore it, but something about the visuals and audio made you want to keep watching. The loop was short, and a blast of color and text swam in my vision as you stared blankly ahead, letting it pull you deeper. It felt so nice to just zoooone ouuuut….
And then my phone was gone.
You glanced around. You were in a building you had never seen before, high ceilings and concrete floors. It was nearly empty besides two men stood over you, fiddling with some machine. One had slipped my phone into his pocket. You tried to protest, but the shorter man just said “Quiet” and you could no longer speak. You debated running, but he said “Wait” and your muscles froze in place.
“Thank goodness the last one gave us the excess we needed” the taller of the two mumbled as he placed a mask over your head, and connected it to a tube attached to the mysterious machine.
“Let’s see, really a dealer’s choice. Let’s go… 4’8”, 235, a bit of muscle, full beard…”
“Do you only do cubs?”
“Shut up, he’ll love whatever we do.”
You heard the machine click on and there was a sudden pressure in your mouth. The liquid the soon filled you was creamy and sweet, with just a little tang. You tried to spit it back out, but were quickly foiled. “Suck” was all they had to say, and your body complied. As you chugged the sweet liquid, you felt your muscles grow heavy. Your body was warm, belly full, and mind so sleeepppy…
And everything was black.
When you woke up, you couldn’t tell that anything was different. You were as you had always been: a sexy, self-obsessed cub. It was a few days later, while you were spending time worshiping yourself in the mirror, when you finally saw you had missed an email:
Subject: Order #10108 Fulfilled
Dear (REDACTED),
Your order has been fulfilled. We know you have many options, but thank you for supporting The Spiral.
Sincerely,
The Spiral

A very late addition to the summer series, this one was, say, lost in transit somewhere in the drafts. Finally pushing it out for you all to enjoy. Thank you all for all the love on my first story back. I hope to post a bit more consistently for a bit to work through some backlogs.

bang chan
The balmy summer air was not making it any easier to stop yourself from peering stealthily at Chan in the driver’s seat of your rental convertible, wearing a casual outfit of a half-buttoned linen shirt and swimming trunks. He was drumming his fingers on the steering wheel to the music playing from the speakers as the car slowly moved up to the north side of Jeju Island.
You had made plans a long time ago to spend a weekend away together, and given Chan’s love for the ocean, you had agreed to go for a beach trip. So you found yourself parking right by Hamdeok Beach, which was proving to meet your (high) expectations – clear water, blue skies, small waves brushing up against the shore. It was stunning.
Before you had taken it all in properly, Chan had already set up a parasol and was currently fighting to put down a large beach towel against the wind. You rushed over to help him with the towel and looked for your phone to take some pictures.
After a few obligatory landscape photos, Chan came up behind you and offered to take some of you (“to send to your mom, she kept saying the other week you aren’t getting enough sun”). He was grinning behind the phone camera as you posed in a flowy sundress, squinting slightly in the bright light.
“Looking great, angel,” he called, and you walked back to him, your flip flops digging up the fine sand with each step.
“Don’t you want to take some with your phone as well?,” you asked, smiling at the photos Chan had taken. He was a pretty gifted photographer, but the scenery was definitely adding to the pictures.
“I’m alright, I don’t have my phone on me, actually,” he said, already digging for sunscreen in your bag.
You frowned, surprised. Chan was usually the first to admit he was a workaholic and it was pretty rare for him to be anywhere without his phone, if not an entire travel-friendly recording setup. “Really? You left it at home? What if there’s an --”
“I’ve left Changbin and the staff with very clear instructions that I won’t be reachable for any reason this weekend,” he interrupted you lightly, sunscreen now in hand. “They can handle it.”
You joined him underneath the parasol, feeling rather touched. “And you’re fine with that?” you asked softly. “I mean, I really appreciate it, but I don’t want you to feel restless or uncomfortable or something while we’re here.”
He seated himself a little closer to you, shaking his head, though there was no heat behind it. “Please, (Y/N), I’m more than fine with it. I’m very thankful to have this time with you and want to enjoy it as much as I can before we go back on Sunday,” he said, gently pushing some of your hair out of your face. “Now, let’s get some sun protection on that cute face of yours before we both burn to a crisp.”

lee know
“Yes, by end of day, please. Yeah. Yes, thank you.”
You sighed, hanging up the call.
Today was not your day.
You had gotten a run in your tights on your way to work basically as soon as you stepped out of the subway, spent all morning in back-to-back meetings that should have been emails, and had been forced to skip your lunch break to rectify a mistake a coworker had made in a report you were signing off on. And now, you had found out right before you were about to head home that you were missing signatures on an important budget proposal.
Normally you wouldn’t really mind too much, but you wanted to leave early today since you were supposed to meet up with Minho right after work. You anxiously eyed the clock as you waited for the necessary emails to come in.
By the time you wrapped up for the day, you had already sent an apologetic running-late-text to Minho and scored another run in your tights as you speed-walked through the subway station.
As soon as you walked into the hallway of your apartment building, you heard music playing faintly – it seemed like it was coming from behind your door. You were supposed to meet up at Minho’s place and go out for dinner, but you figured you had enough time to at least touch up your makeup and find some new tights to wear. Maybe he had gotten impatient in the extra time you had taken.
You unlocked the door and stopped in your tracks. Not only were you right – Minho was standing in the kitchen, back turned towards you – but he had probably arrived at your apartment before you had even sent your last text. He was in the middle of stirring a pot, a cutting board with chopped green onions beside him. The smell of seafood stew was immediate and comforting.
“Minho, you’re here? I thought you wanted to go out?” you asked, kicking off your heels and leaning over to him by the stove, kissing him on the cheek.
He turned to kiss you properly, murmuring a greeting, and raised an eyebrow at you. “I figured you probably weren’t feeling up for heading out again when you told me earlier about the day you were having. So I thought we would do dinner here instead.”
Your heart ached with affection, not only at the thoughtfulness, but also at the familiarity he showed with your living space – he knew where you kept your vegetable peeler, where the clean dish towels were. “You know me too well, you know.”
He smirked. “It’s part of my job description. Go get changed, dinner’s almost ready.”
Soon enough, you were sitting at your dinner table in sweatpants, one leg tucked under your body as you took a careful bite of the piping hot stew. You let out an appreciative noise; Minho knew exactly how spicy you liked your food.
With him sitting across from you barefaced in a T-shirt, you knew then that no restaurant could really come close to replicating this feeling of home.
Tumblr media
changbin
People would have to pay you a considerable amount of money to go the gym with Changbin. You didn’t hate working out, and you certainly didn’t hate spending time with your boyfriend. However, as you explained to him, it was healthy and more sustainable for couples to do some activities separately, and you were happy to try out the odd group class on your own from time to time. It was also, as you muttered, really hard to stay focused on your own exercises when Changbin was working out within your immediate vicinity while wearing a compression shirt. This explanation usually satisfied him, you found, a wicked little smile appearing on his face.
One part of his routine that you would more readily agree to was visiting a sauna afterwards. Changbin usually made a wise comment about the importance of recovery here, but you did not need much convincing to get a massage or soak in a near-boiling pool for a while.
Today was one of those days; Changbin had picked you up from work and you had gone to a spa you both liked together. You were happily submerging yourself in the hot water, steam rising in the darkening sky. Changbin also sank in the water next to you, squeaking at the difference in temperature from the cool outside air.
“How was your day, baby?,” you asked, sidling up to him.
He closed his eyes, leaning his head back. “Good. Busy, though. Didn’t have time to text you,” he said, pouting.
You laughed and splashed some water on him. “Don’t be stupid. I won’t wilt like a dying flower without it. I’m happy to see you now,” you smiled.
Some of the cloudiness remained in his face, and you moved to gently push at the tense muscles in his shoulders. “I don’t want you to feel like I don’t have time for you. Like you’re not as important as other parts of my life,” he said quietly.
You moved away from the seating edge of the pool and got in front of him, both of you up to your shoulders in the water.
Looking at him more seriously now, you said: “Bin, if I do somehow ever end up feeling like that, I will tell you. I trust you to do the same. I think you’re being too hard on yourself right now.”
A smile came back to Changbin’s face as he pulled you back to him, back to his firm chest. He placed a kiss on the top of your head. “Thank you, sweetheart,” he muttered. “And thank you for coming here with me.”
“You say that like it’s a sacrifice on my end,” you shot back.
He laughed, and you felt it reverberate in you against your back, a sound of not just amusement, but real tenderness.

hyunjin
Sometimes, you weren't sure how this had ended up being your life.
You were waiting for Hyunjin to finish up in the enormous bathroom in your suite at the Relais Christine, it being your final day in Paris to accompany him to a Cartier shoot on location. Although the trip had been amazing – great food, the weather had been cold but sunny, you’d convinced Hyunjin to ask the brand reps for an extra set of PR goodies for you to steal – you were both tired, worn out from the packed schedule.
Today was your last day in Paris, though; you were catching a flight so early tomorrow morning that it should be illegal. You had been racking your brain for something to do together, a museum he had not been to yet, a gallery that he wouldn’t already know. Would he think it’s corny to go on one of those boat tours?
You shook your head to yourself, starting to pack a few essentials to take on your outing. Before long, Hyunjin emerged from the bathroom, free of make-up but looking as statuesque as he had during the shoot, and he seemed excited for a last outing. “You ready for a last hurrah, baby?” he said, grinning widely.
It was a nice day to be out, at least, you thought as you walked to Montmartre together. It was incredibly busy, and you stuck close to Hyunjin, his face half-covered by a (hilariously) large pair of sunglasses and hair unstyled. He was nothing if not used to navigating crowds, though, and he easily weaved through the throngs of tourists to grab sandwiches that you split, sitting on a bench covered in stickers.
Finally, something caught your eye as you looped back around to the main square: a side of the street full of stalls displaying artworks, mostly paintings.
“Hyunjin, look,” you tugged on his sleeve, “there’s the artist market that they were talking about in the guidebook!”
His eyes shone with interest as you got closer, even though your head was spinning slightly from the sheer variety of art to look at. From soft watercolors of flowers to realistic portraits of elderly people in a park or abstract prints, there was no shortage of things you could see yourself putting up in your apartment.
Suddenly, the gears in your head started turning. “Hyunjin, wait, I wanna split up.”
He wheeled around abruptly. “God, (Y/N), please don’t scare me like that,” he whined, clutching at his chest dramatically.
Suppressing a laugh, you continued: “How about we each start at one end and pick out one painting for each other? We’ve been looking for something to put in the hallway by the bathroom for ages.”
Hyunjin smiled. “What’s the budget?”
“How about 25 euros each, Mr. Cartier,” you rolled your eyes affectionately, squeezing his hand.
He squeezed yours in return and practically ran off to the opposite end of the market.
---
A month later, a watercolor of apple blossoms and a tiny ink drawing of the Seine in the morning sun hung proudly in your hallway, with a slightly blurry Polaroid of the two of you in front of the Sacre Coeur taped to the frame.

@wolfstarmicrofic April 18, word count 991
Remus Lupin had one asset, and that was his parent’s house. It was in the middle of the Welsh countryside. It was a mile walk to the little village, and the only thing it had going for it was the barn. It was light and airy and smelled of wood.
Remus had spent a lot of time and effort converting it into a liveable space. The idea had been to sell it, but no one was interested in living so far away from the major cities. So, under the advice of his estate agent, he rented it out for short holidays.
So far, it had been quite lucrative. With the money he made from that and his own job, he could afford chocolate whenever he wanted.
The holiday season was coming, and he already had two weeks booked out. He tended to get a lot of city dwellers looking to get away from it all or families trying to get back to their roots.
He checked his emails one morning with a fresh cup of tea and a plate of crumpets. HE filtered out the junk and found an inquiry email in his barn folder. He opened it.
A man was looking to hire the barn for the full summer and all of September as well. He was looking at three months of solid booking. It was a shame he couldn’t offer it, having already booked those two weeks. And he refused to let down his other guests. He typed a reply stating as much. He got a reply back almost instantly, asking if there was somewhere he could pitch a small tent. Mr Black said he would gladly still pay full price while his other guests used the barn. Remus couldn’t believe what he was reading. It seemed too good to be true. He sent a couple of pictures of his personal garden. The views weren’t as good, but it would be sheltered from the worst of the wind, and he could use Remus’s garden furniture. Again, the reply was quick. The man agreed and said he hoped he wouldn’t be any bother.
Remus sent an invoice and got Mr Black to confirm he agreed to the price, and with the confirmation, he booked out the three months. He sat back with a pleased look on his face as he finished his crumpets. He just hoped that Mr Black would be a good neighbour as it was a long time to deal with a terrible guest.
July arrived, and with it, a sleek black motorbike and an equally sleek owner. Sirius, as he demanded to be called, settled in instantly. He played his music a little loudly, but as it was to Remus’s taste, he decided to enjoy it.
Remus found he quite enjoyed Sirius’s company, and they spent nearly every night in Remus’s garden drinking beers. Remus had even started making enough dinner for Sirius, though Sirius had told him he didn’t expect it but did appreciate it as he was useless at cooking.
It turned out that Sirius needed a break from his high-pressure job, which was why he’d come to Remus’s.
“I hate it. It’s been my life since my mother found out she was pregnant with me. They own the company now, but my brother and I run it. He’s so much better at it than I am, and I swear he’d have such an easier time at it if I quit.” Sirius had admitted to him one August afternoon.
“Then why don’t you quit?” Remus asked as though it were an obvious solution.
“Everything I own is tied up in the company. If I leave, I lose everything.” He shrugged. “My parents made sure it was that way after I went through a rebellious streak in my teenage years.”
“That’s terrible, Sirius. I wish I could help.” And Remus found he meant it.
“Don’t fret about it. I’ll muddle through.” Sirius beamed at him as he patted Remus’s leg. “Right, enough feeling sorry for myself. I’m off for a walk. Care to join me?” Remus couldn’t think of any reason not to, so he took the proffered hand, and they strolled towards the village.
Remus showed Sirius some of his favourite childhood haunts just off the beaten track, and they spent a wonderful afternoon in the thick foliage.
Soon, the first week came around when Sirius would have to sleep in his tent. And, of course, the worst storm to hit Wales in over a hundred years decided to arrive that night.
The trees were whipping back and forth, creaking and groaning. The fence surrounding Remus’s garden swayed dangerously. Remus refused to let Sirius stay out in this. He flung open the back door and yelled into the downpour.
“Sirius! Sirius!” A face popped out of the zippered entrance of the tent. “Get in here!” Sirius shook his head.
“I’m all good. Don’t fret.”
Lightning cut across the sky, lighting the dark ground with its answering thunder not far behind.
“Sirius, please! I won’t be able to sleep knowing you’re out here!”
Suddenly, Sirius was streaking across the lawn and ran straight into Remus’s arms, knocking the lanky man back a few steps. Lighting flashed across the sky again and then another and another. The last bolt hit the cherry blossom tree in Remus’s garden, and a huge branch fell off and crushed the tent Sirius had been in moments before.
“Yeah, probably a good call that Remus,” He joked. “Shall I put the kettle on?” Remus decided, not that he had much choice, that Sirius would be staying in his spare bedroom for the remainder of the two weeks. Maybe longer if the look Sirius was giving him meant what Remus thought it did. That night, they sat, snuggled up together on Remus’s tiny sofa in front of a roaring fire, sipping mugs of hot chocolate and listening to the storm wailing around them.

Okay so this is extremely irrelevant, like you don’t even have to respond. But I got my bf completely hooked on this fic and he loves it so much. We literally have a sleepover every Sunday, stay up for the update and take turns reading the latest chapter aloud like a bedtime story.
His friend called me the other day, full on geeking out over the sick as fuck upgrades on Ed’s guns. Turns out my bf talked about it so much his mates decided to read it. I used to be terrified of them (they’re all around 6 foot, muscley ash, footy players) until they invited me to a hangout to chill and talk about SSSBMTY, they even had a wall of theories, busted out some red string and everything.
I didn’t even know they watched one piece, I’m pretty sure some of them had never even heard of it before this.
So congratulations, you have successfully infiltrated a group of popular college boys from Australia.
Genuinely I’m so thankful for you and your writing. Idgaf how stupid it sounds but I’ve made friends and my relationship is genuinely better off because of it.
Bae idk how you do this but if you ever get sad just remember there’s a bunch of big ass NRL players on the other side of the world who idolise you.
Srsly you’ve converted them all, one dude just emailed me his fucking ZOSAN COFFEE SHOP AU to proofread. Keep in mind this is an extremely straight, one piece dude bro. I have to teach him about paragraph breaks but it’s very sweet.
Sorry this is so long lmao.
Ok first that's fucking adorable couple activities and I am jealous beyond belief. More than that I'm fucking ELATED you have people to bond with over this fic, words fail to describe how damn happy it makes me to hear about the people who read my work connecting with each other irl. Whether it's you chucklefucks somehow managing to find each other in the wild or infecting people with SSSBMTY like a virus, I just fucking adore you.
I am my own target audience when I write so the fact this fuckin' thing is so far reaching BOGGLES MY MIND. I would give nearly ANYTHING to see this red string theory wall you have no IDEA—
The shot of straight crack to my god complex knowing a bunch of tall buff NRL players think I'm cool is immeasurable and insane. I have a confidence high that will last until I'm dead. I don't know if I'll be recovering from this one, emotionally.
TELL HIM TO DROP THE ZOSAN COFFE SHOP AU WITH PARAGRAPH BREAKS AND MY LIFE IS YOURS—

oh sure i'll do a writing meme. ty @ohtemporas because i did not want to open the gdoc. ellipsus doc. that does NOT roll off the tongue. hooray procrastination.
What's one story you've written, you're the most proud of?
im proud of a lot of stories but two that i think really demonstrate like, committing to the bit (and by bit i mean tone) are only fools rush in and linger. i think it really shows that i followed these one after the other too, because like, marriage bets was about delivering a Rom-Com in the rom-commiest of fashions, where everything is driven by like, the contrast of low life stakes to high personal stakes (it's silly! but through the silliness we find an emotional core that MATTERS) and linger aka omega matthew is like, well what if we went totally opposite tonally. i really wanted to stretch myself doing something that wasn't a lot of rapid-fire jokes or light-heartedness and really spend some time in the emotional wallowing and i'm glad i did even tho writing it kinda sucked sometimes.
What's one story you wished you had expanded on, or spent more time writing?
hmmmm i think like, i'm really proud of the soulbond au for what it is while also being like, damn i could write it so much better now? but also it's such an artifact of when i wrote it and who i was when i wrote it. i think for literally anything i posted, after three years i'm like, man i can see all the ways that i changed as a writer and all these flaws and crutches and wow, it could be a lot better. but that's definitely a "wrote it in a two month fever dream" fic so maybe could've benefitted from a month of thinking on it? or maybe not.
What's your favorite trope of all time?
gosh i love so many. marriage of convenience obviously. i'm a HUGE sucker for soulbonds and things of that nature because you can get into the free will of it all. anything that allows for some world-building is delightful to me. i LOVE fake dating. i LOVE many classic dynamics. i LOVE pining. the best and greatest emotion of them all!!!
If you could be the main character in one of your stories, what one would it be?
absolutely not, i want my brain to work when i'm 50. tho i could fuck with being fen from proper english and being a rich lesbian who just swans about at house parties and exclaims over corpses. i'd be GREAT at that.
Do you think you'll ever stop writing for the fandom you're currently most active in?
yeah probs! everything is seasonal, everything is cyclical, and i have SO much tv to catch up on and potentially doctors to make kiss on the mouth i hear
You've been given a book deal. What story are you publishing from your collection?
uh none because i don't believe in converting fic into original fic lol. if it works outside of the context of the fandom then that has implications about it as a fanned fiction!
that said i would love to write a rom-com! we the people deserve more of them. not enough romance novels indulge in hijinks, shenanigans, things of that nature.
Top writing tip for others?
copying prev but seriously the filtering for words you use all the time (just, a little, feels like, etc.) and cutting them, as well as having an awareness of your crutches (mine are like three adjectives i love, em-dashes, and a certain kind of sentence structure) and addressing them, will save ur life and ur bacon. i also think it's a really good idea to, once you finish a draft, take a break from looking at it and send it to someone else so you can come back to editing with fresh eyes. don't even check the email notifications from beta comments. it's good to reset! finally just like. write the thing. if it's bad you'll figure out how to do it better next time. cringing at the past is a part of life.
tagging @hopetorun, @postoperation, @astronomical-light, whoever else wants to!

Since you're a college student, how do you ask for religious accommodations for Jewish holidays? Also when requesting it do you mention that you're Jewish or just that you're converting to Judaism, or something more vague? I'm also a college student converting and took online classes this semester, so I didn't have to worry about it. Next semester however, ohhh boy. I'm super nervous because I'll probably have to miss some heavy stem classes that I definitely wouldn't want to miss otherwise, but I think having to miss the high holidays especially would suck a lot worse. Plus it's pretty nerve wracking to have to tell multiple professors that I'm Jewish/converting with yknow... the heavy antisemitism on a lot of college campuses. I go to a small school and their website says nothing about religious accommodations that I could find so I'd really appreciate your perspective if you've gone through this process!!!
I feel you on that - most of my classes have been online, and if I'm honest... I kind of just didn't show up to my in-person classes for any holiday, which I was able to get away with because they were generally chill. I understand that this isn't necessary feasible for STEM - I'm in the psych department so I feel like I've been able to get away with a lot
I would say, though, that it's best practice to get your request in writing - make sure to email your professors even if you talked to them in person. This will ensure that there's concrete evidence that you did ask for an accommodation. G-d forbid that a professor acts maliciously, but sometimes, people do forget things in good faith.
You don't even have to give a background as to why you need an accommodation. Let's say you want to go to Rosh Hashanah and you want an extension for an assignment. You could leave your message as, "I would like to request an extension on [assignment] due to the holiday of Rosh Hashanah." I myself am a very private person, so I typically don't want to give people a whole spiel about who I am an why, and it's also my belief that you don't need to know the ins and outs of a person's life story to show grace to them and accomodate them to the best of your abilities.
I definitely understand being nervous, and I truly hope that you will have accommodating professors. Your academic life and judaism don't have to conflict, even if it means tweaking a few things.
If you have a shul, I would also talk to them! I've been very open about being a college student and being in conversion classes, and it's been very helpful for my peace of mind to know that my shul already knows my situation. I doubt anyone at shul would begrudge you if g-d forbid you had to miss something because of college, but I know for me, sometimes I'll just feel like they are, anyway (even if that's irrational - humans are irrational creatures).

A 24-year-old Irish-American man with a military record was indicted on terrorism charges for traveling to Lebanon and Syria in an attempt to join Hezbollah, the Justice Department announced Thursday.
Jack Danaher Molloy was arrested in Chicago in early December for lying to FBI agents while being investigated for his effort to join the Lebanese terror group, the Justice Department said in a statement. When FBI agents questioned whether he had ever had any intention of joining Hezbollah, Molloy said he had no plans to do so and had had no business or plans in Syria.
In fact, according to the department, Molloy traveled to Lebanon in August 2024 in an attempt to enlist with Hezbollah and, after being rebuffed, ventured to Syria to try his fortunes with the terror group there. At the time, Israel and Hezbollah were in the midst of a yearlong, escalating conflict on Israel’s northern border.
When Molloy eventually returned to Pittsburgh from the Middle East in October, he was questioned at the airport by FBI agents.
According to an unsealed affidavit, Molloy declared “a very fierce hatred of these Zionists” and was excited by the prospect of fighting them.
Molloy frequently employed antisemitic and violent names and references in usernames and social media posts, according to the affidavit, which said one of his email addresses was glassofjuice88@[REDACTED].com. The first phrase is sometimes used by extremists as a homophone for “gas the Jews,” while 88 is a common white supremacist code for “Heil Hitler.” The affidavit also said that around Oct. 7, 2024, the one-year anniversary of Hamas’ invasion of Israel, Molloy created the email kikekiller696969@[REDACTED].com and googled how to join Hezbollah.
Molloy is a dual citizen of the United States and Ireland who served about a month of active duty as an American soldier in 2019 and later sought to join an Army training program at the University of Illinois Chicago.
He converted to Shia Islam in February 2024 and was known among his contacts as “Yahya,” per the affidavit. (Yahya Sinwar, Hamas’ leader in Gaza, was the architect of the Oct. 7 attack and led the group until Israeli troops killed him in October.)
Molloy allegedly revealed to his mother in a Whatsapp message that he intended to join Hezbollah to kill Jews, and was also considering fighting for Russia, an ally of the recently ousted Syrian regime, against Ukraine in order to eventually join Hezbollah. When his mother asked him if his “master plan was to join Hezbollah and kill Jews,” he answered that it was.
As documented in the affidavit, communication between Molloy and his contacts also shed light on Hezbollah’s recruitment and training practices and indicated that they were in disarray during the time he sought to join the group, as Israel ratcheted up pressure through a mass pager detonation in advance of a ground invasion. At one point, a contact urged Molloy to leave, saying that Hezbollah was “not accepting anyone and due to the high number of Mossad agents, and moles, appearing inside.” She told him that he should consider other ways to achieve jihad.
“Sometimes a voice is far more powerful than a weapon and sometimes a pen is far more powerful than a knife,” the contact told Molloy via WhatsApp, according to the affidavit.
Upon their confiscation, his cell phone and laptop were reportedly found to have multiple violent antisemitic memes, Hezbollah propaganda, and images that appear to show solidarity between a Nazi SS soldier and a generic jihadi soldier.
In mid-November, Molloy also allegedly visited a website that said where Robert Bowers, who committed the 2018 Pittsburgh synagogue shooting, was imprisoned.
“As alleged, Jack Molloy, an avowed adherent of Hizballah harboring deep-seated animus against Jews, took many steps over a period of months — at home and abroad — in his effort to join and fight for this deadly foreign terrorist organization,” U.S. Attorney for the Western District of Pennsylvania Eric G. Olshan said in a statement Thursday. “This case is yet another sobering reminder of the threat of radicalized violence against Americans.”
Molloy faces a maximum sentence of 20 years in prison, a fine of $250,000, or both for the charge of providing material support for a foreign terror organization. Each charge of making a false statement to the FBI carries a maximum sentence of eight years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both, according to the Justice Department.

Organic growth fosters authentic connections, boosts long-term engagement, and builds trust. Below are some essential social media marketing tips to grow your audience organically:
1. Create Share-Worthy Content

How to create share-worthy content:
Use eye-catching visuals like infographics, videos, and memes.
Evoke emotions — funny, inspiring, or thought-provoking content performs better.

How to leverage UGC:
Run contests or giveaways encouraging followers to tag your brand.

Create a branded hashtag for followers to use.
Combine broad and niche hashtags to reach different audience segments.
7. Collaborate with Micro-Influencers

Note
(there’s something about sending ppl stuff when they’re. not online. makes my doom less imminent or something idk… I just enjoy leaving little things and then freaking the hell out when I get an email like “X answered your ask!” and. dying lmao)
Anyways! Rani’s Character sheet!
Species: Exact details unknown. Speculative demigod.
Height: 5’4
Orientation: Stares at you disapprovingly… (Poly asf. Biromantic Demisexual. has a soft spot for “losers” of both genders and will mommy them, should they ask)
Vibe: Dominance. There’s just something about her everything that speaks to how much of a higher being she is…
Pronouns: She/Her (if you call her they she will cry. for reasons.)
Voice: Somewhat Japanese accent, gets high when she’s pissed, usually low and permanently authoritative
Laugh: Loud and reverberating, the kind that makes you super happy you were able to earn it
Personality
Exhausted and nearing middle age. Inner mind is a mess of trying to crunch numbers and parse negotiations and not another migraine and I miss my husband.
Outwardly she’s nothing but damn near suffocating every room she walks into with her grace, intentionally. Not condescending but worthy. Not arrogant but proven. She refuses to take shit from anyone because if one more gets added to her plate she’ll have to wait another ten years before she can retire.
Emotionally distant and mentally reserved… until you get through the defenses and start to close the gap… then she’ll love you and cherish you and treat you however you like.
Very rarely anxious, even in private. When she is, she’ll bite her fingernails
Great at long cons. Plots revenge and litters the path with infinitely many little inconveniences.
^ Unfortunately doesn’t get to scheme much anymore, though.
Does not panic. Just doesn’t.
Low empathy but practiced sympathy and will let you lay your head in her lap and gut yourself, if you need.
Horrible at comforting people, but good at listening and providing physical support.
Can only roll out Life Advice she lives by. Feels wary of saying things she doesn’t mean with her whole chest.
Enjoys teasing people she knows fluster easily. Will be flirting and watching to figure them out all the way… and then sit and wait for the crush to develop…
She’s quite a chaotic poly— to the point of picking up dates like stray cats— but she’s pretty abstinent and prefers romance with most.
Likes to romance but doesn’t take well to being romanced— alas, if you try to initiate any sort of emotional intimacy with her she will deflect it
Can be caught muttering to herself when stressed—
—that and constantly touching her lips when in thought
Has a tired singing voice, sings very well
Has a need to be productive at most if not all times. Doesn’t enjoy being idle or having her hands tied
Is very indulgent of those she likes. She will put you in her convertible and drive you to all your favorite stores on vacation, then take you home and spend the evening with you, doing what you like
Virtually uncrackable to the general public and even most of her business partners/rivals
If you look, though, you’ll find her weakness is mostly the people around her
…but if you target any of her loved ones, say your prayers.
Names & Nicknames
Full Name: Rani Summerstar
Nicknames: Annie (hates it), Summer (hates that too), Star, Nee-chan (by one person), Mommy/Mom/Mother, Your Hallowness
[Again, not a lot of nicknames at Hallow Star…]
Appearance
Head: Tanned brown skin, sharp golden eyes, short nose and round cheeks…
She has long black hair— with a sparkling golden underside!!
Body: Chunky. Pear-shaped with a healthy roll of pudge.
Clothing
Has a set outfit she wears as part of her character design and feels sort of… wrong without it on.
Outside of her default, though, she likes glittery clothing.
Likes to wear multiple belts…
absolutely rocks a baggy pants + tight top outfit.
permanent heels. They don’t seem to make her any taller, though…
Enjoys showing off with her floor-length dresses and the like… has a lot of vintage clothing, for some reason
Smell: Depends. In the office, she smells cold— spearmint and pine. Somewhere homely, though, she smells like warmth. Cinnamon, rose, love and safety.
Other: Has a perfume on her desk called “Star’s Embrace” but it’s up to debate whether or not she actually wears it. the scent isn’t listed.
Secret Facts (she really wouldn’t want you to know!)
Deeply grieving her husband. Still.
Somewhat grieving her dead child. Took a test and one month, the results were positive, she could feel the life within her— and then, the next month, it was gone. The star inside had died.
Would be overjoyed to be taken out and treated like a queen just for a day.
Craves all manner of massages.
^ Deals with Weird Muscle Things on the day-to-day.
Used to be extremely strict about relationships and the workplace. Now can’t give a shit as she’s breaking her old rules…
Subconsciously believes her polyamory stems from deep-seated issues with commitment due to her lack of empathy. She’s extremely aware of every ongoing “relationship” but also very much questions the definitions of ‘love’ and ‘dating’ and all that…
Wishes someone would sing love songs to her so she could sleep at night
Is an extremely emotional drunk— the intricate defenses come down and she’s spilling all her lore because someone needs to know how much I hurt before I die
Thinks the following about the main troublemakers of her company
henry is an ass who abuses the fact that she can’t find someone else to replace him far too much
maddy is a sweetheart but a totally hopeless loser unless she gets an amazing therapist
brynn is adorable but… well she’s brynn
mr. dino aight
Thinks of herself as very cynical… spirals over the specificities of her ethics and morals while clutching both sides of the sink in her bathroom
if you feed her a fishy she doesn’t like she will literally vomit
Fun Facts ([a number]+!!)
Insanely strong. Stronger under the stars
Star magic. Can create small stars and generally manipulate light
sort of (very much so) likes to show off her abilities
Likes to blind people if they’re pissing her off
Learned how to make light just. Not hit her and can thus turn invisible when she wants to
Can glow and/or make the space around her dark
If she tries to manipulate the light in a light bulb, 9 times outta 10 it will shatter. she could never get the hang of it for some reason…
Doesn’t hate her job… but lowkey hates her job…
Thinks all her business rivals should just get fucked and leave her alone
Has been running ”underground operations” since before Hallow Star
Does most of her funding independently and illegally
Takes a lot of pride in her company, though. She believes Hallow Star carries the energy of her unborn child and has the blessing and protection of her late husband. (Would never admit this to anyone.)
Her actual job is mostly paperwork. Most positions she can cover with those under her but still has to oversee the dealings with her company and sign things in her name…
Gets chronic migraines and, in turn, is a chronic ibuprofen taker
Has connections in high society through not much but her charms. Sweet talk and good deals
Die hard Mitski fan
Once dated a vampire. has a thing for having her neck bitten, now.
When she was younger, she wanted to be a warrior. She was! and then the war ended and she was sorta unemployed
so she went to college
and started a business
Enjoys all soft things. soft chairs, soft blankets, soft skin, soft clothing…
Takes scalding hot showers/baths. Boils water on the stove not because her house doesn’t have it but because. It isn’t hot enough.
Is particular about her scent and appearance. Not to a detrimental degree but has gotten into the habit of alwaysbeing presentable from the moment she wakes up to the moment she wraps up her hair and goes to sleep.
can spend hours on her hair. like by accident.
Finds any kind of shaming as evidence that the shamer was not loved enough as a child
Has pretty strong reservations against the abuse of innocents
But if they’re bad by her standards please do murder
needs a lot of oral stimulation? always chewing the inside of her mouth but hates gum. touches her lips and chin when she’s stimming.
Hobbies
Not a lot, with her occupation, but she does like to…
Watch movies. Not productive but given her high mental operating she likes to dissect good stories.
Try new recipes! Can throw down in the kitchen— just wants to throw down more than burgers or sushi…
Singing. She loves to sing…
Weaving. A newer hobby picked up from a newer friend. Was frustrated by it at first but finds it comforting, now.
Writing. Just a wee bit. Does enough of it on the clock but is fond of journaling her day-to-day when she gets a chance.
Fears
Henry taking shit too far one day and breaking the news. (Or breaking Maddy…)
Any of her illegal activity coming to light and utterly ruining her company.
Her husband disapproving of her from the grave.
Thinking too much and coming to some sort of epiphany that ruins her current way of doing things.
Is sorta scared of places where there’s no light for her to manipulate.
Strengths:
Commanding presence and aura she can genuinely back up
Extremely productive and good at Doing Work
Resilient and perservering
Knows how to project upstanding morals and values onto others
Maternal sense about her. Extremely protective, supportive, and loyal to the people she develops strong connections to.
Amazing secret keeper. You can literally tell her anything
Is rich and controls and multi-billion dollar company??
Weaknesses
Bad at opening up to folks/emotional intimacy
Sometimes detrimentally self-aware
Can be extremely short-tempered regarding Hallow Star and how she runs it. Don’t catch her on a bad day when she hasn’t had her pills.
(Hers is the shortest by far… cuz she’s kinda… not as young and still forming as everybody? Like her personality n stuff is more rooted and solid to me she’s not constantly contradicting herself like the rest of those dumb fucks…)

(Pfff... Reall. But I overthink about. How is the writing?? Is it good.. Is it bad?? Did I send the wrong thing.. Did it go through!?!?!)
I feel like her and Flowz would really get along well. Not just business partners, like. Close friends.
And. I feel like Thorin would also be a good friend to her too honestly. Two kinda grumpy oldies that really need a break, and both lost a partner..
Thorin is just like her fr.. Hes the dad/granddad of everyone in the Vez family. He has and will do it again, spend thousands of dollars to cheer up his kids just because they were even the slightest bit sad.
