In the 1960s, NASA had a bunch of dummies working to bring humans to space. Well, it was just two dummies, really. Each ‘Power Driven Articulated Dummy’ was a 230-pound robot that NASA engineers designed to test space suits. One of the dummies now resides at the Smithsonian National Air and Space Museum, and the other was auctioned off.
Popular Science wrote about the dummies back in 1967. Controlled by an operator and driven by a circulatory system of oil inside tubes, each android could mimic 35 human movements, from arm and hand flexing to twisting at the waist. [x]

Spotted this cutie in Highly Illogical Fanzine #9/10 (artist: Julie Cesari). It came out in 1988, the year after TNG's first season. So sweet to imagine these dedicated trekkies getting new television content after almost two decades and accepting Data with open arms :')

Finally returning to Operation: Annihilate
Kid me was extremely freaked out by Kirk's brother dying and Spock being blinded and never touched it again
Coming back as an adult, yeah this is really dark. Not surprised ten-year-old me couldn't handle it, and that comes from someone who always loved angst and would delightedly replay episodes with fakeout deaths since at least age seven.
The aliens always made me think of D&D's cloakers for some reason.

So I started watching Trek for the first time in June of this year. In that time I've watched all of TNG and DS9, 3 movies, 13 eps of TOS, and 4.5 seasons of Voyager.
That's over 360 hours of pure Trek in 6 months.
It occurred to me today just how much lore I've digested in that time (get your head out of the gutter) and I wonder...
Just what all information did my brain purge to accommodate new vocabulary alone? 🤣

Google Docs, I have such a strong love/hate relationship with you right now.
I love how I am able to use you seamlessly between multiple devices, and that has been your one saving grace at this point. I love the part where you had a saved history section that saved my changes so that if I deleted a section and changed my mind again later, it wasn't lost forever.
I absolutely hate the whole AI scraping bullshit (I hope that lawsuit case that's in the works for not paying the creators of the work you are scraping, wins), and I hate this more recent development of locking some writers out of their work just because they shared with a beta/editor (from my understanding, non-shared work is still 'safe'...for the moment).
So here I am, backing up ALL MY WRITING into LibreOffice. Which of course likes to switch my font (despite the number of times I've switched the default font to match what I was using in Docs), and anything that was in italics or bold, I have to manually go through and re-italicize/bold (guess who likes their italics?).
I HAVE SO MANY DOCUMENTS TO BACK UP (this will take forever)

i need to do like low effort doodles to organize my thoughts on the Things
like how do i eloquently elaborate that the "God" and watchers from Drakenier would absolutely send a plague or disease that turns people into stone and then inadvertently have said humans discover and use the energy from the human soul "ergo" to advance the speed of their own destruction.
What I like about both said games and stories of that world is that its a story about pain, misery, hope, secrets and lies are all such human things. I often think about the protagonists in Yoko Taro's works and how you don't necessarily have to be good or bad you just have to think you're right. I feel so excited thinking upon these scenarios that can be applied to P and his own dilemma on being "good" and the choices the player can make telling lies or the truth in any given scenario, I feel like what makes this really effective in the setting of Krat is that all of the cast and characters have a secret, withheld information is kept away from the player to be discovered. An end to justify the means. Meanwhile the whole world seems to be falling apart.

Ranking Super Saiyan Transformations
Number 5: Goten
Nothing special about Goten's transformation. It just happens. As Vegeta said, it's a super saiyan bargain sale. Props to Goten for being the youngest super saiyan though.
Number 4: Vegeta
Vegeta is such a drama queen. His monologue, while funny, kind of ruined the vibe for me. But Vegeta is a nice case of getting something when you stop caring about it. As much as I love Vegeta and his arc, his super saiyan transformation was kind of meh.
Number 3: Gohan
Now things are getting interesting! I love how Gohan's thoughts reflect the idea of the transformation being a response to a need vs a desire. It fits Gohan's character so well. Also, his inner monologue felt more emotional and impactful than Vegeta's. Plus the prelude where Gohan egged his dad to attack him at full power is so badass. Gohan is going big or going dead. Too bad his super saiyan transformation was merely a stepping stone for SS2.
Number 2: Future Trunks
Future Trunks' transformation is honestly the most heartbreaking one. The rain, Gohan's dead body, the devastation. They paint such a bleak picture. The moment is bittersweet (way more bitter though) because Trunks finally achieved the transformation but he lost Gohan. His transformation is intense from beginning to end. My favourite part is when the scene is shaking after he transforms and then the camera stills when Trunks slams his fists against the ground. Almost like pressure is being relieved. I can't get over Trunks transforming while crying :'(
Number 1: Goku (who else???)
This transformation is so iconic that it's hard for it not to be number 1. The whole set up is so epic. Goku has run out of techniques and aces. Most of the group is dead or near death. There's literally no hope left...then everything changes. I love the build up of Goku's transformation: the lightning, the darkening sky, the hair flickering. Few other moments in DBZ can top this moment. Goku's transformation changed DBZ.
