Hey! I was used to dealing with unreciprocated feelings before I realised I was poly, but now it surprisingly became harder. The crushes just kinda stack up since there's no more inner pressure to move on (I'm already in a relationship and I don't have to suppress my feelings for others), I feel like I can outstubborn any external circumstances. And even if I have no luck, I can't figure out how to deal with this. Waiting for it to pass is, of course, an option, but do you maybe have some advice?

If you need to get over a crush for another person, why not just do it for the object of your affections? 🤷 Like, get over it for the sake of the crushee rather that your current partner. Seems a simple enough swap.

Failing that, could you ask your partner to prod you about it if you get a little too down bad? Would a "babe, you gotta let this one go" help you?

Frankly, I don't typically "get over" crushes while I still have good relations with a person. My line between friend and lover is nebulous at best, and I'm okay with that. To not mince words, I'm fine with existing in a constant state of "if they'd be down". I somehow haven't actually needed to put it in words before, but now that I'm thinking on it, I suppose a lot of times (though certainly not all!), I interpret the feeling of crushing not as a longing for something more, but an acknowledgement of a closeness and/or comfortableness that's already there. So perhaps a mental reframing like that would help you?

When I've actually had to quash crushes🥀, the only thing that's helped me is making a mental list of all their worst/least compatible attributes 😡📃 and running it through my head any time I caught myself getting dreamy. This could probably mess some people up though if its someone you're staying friends with. I personally have always navigated it okay? But TBH, I'm not sure how because it seems mildly unhealthy 😅 maybe I'm just naturally so over-loving this practice only keeps me reined in to normal levels? The world my never know~ I got off track a little. Anyway.

If all else fails, take it on the chin. Life is often feeling a lot of feelings we wish would could dodge. Try to see this as a "wow, there's so much in the human experience~ 🤩isn't that amazing???" type of way, it makes it a nicer time if you can enjoy the ride🍻. And there's something to be said for being appreciative of having this opportunity! You get to have as many crushes as your sweet little heart can carry! That's, sick as all hell, you gotta admit. Admit it. Admit iiiiiiiiit. You like Krabby Patties, don't you, Squidward?

And of course, it's Beauty And The Beast, sooooo another reason for me to love it😌✨🌹 The author is doing such a good job in portraying the feeling of the Beast (she's writing from his POV), which is also very important to me in books. I want feelings, many many feelings of characters expressing struggles, but succeeding in the end. And this book is giving it to me, I love it here😭😭💖💖💖💖
