Friday nights = your date night. None of you skips it for nothing. you’re sick? Eddie comes over and takes care of you. You have to work longer than usually? Eddie comes to your work and waits until you’re finished. Your parents said no? Eddie sneaks inside. Yep. You‘ll definitely meet.

Mostly movie or game nights with a shared blunt and sweets which lead to hot Make out sessions and at least 2 good hours of you screaming Eddie’s name (I said what I’ve said)

He always wants to join you when you’re about to take a shower but sometimes you say no, so he just stands in the door frame like a creep and watches you , you didn’t say anything against that right?:D

"Ed‘s stop! I said I wanted to shower alone today love!“

"And you are! But I also have to go inside of there!"

"If you need to take a shit just do it!"

"Are you sure 'bout that y/n?“ he smirks and raises an eyebrow

"No no! But it’s getting cold because of the opened door!"

And with that the door is closed from the inside and Eddie leans against the sink with crossed arms and a grin on his lips.

When you finally agree on joining hellfire, it doesn’t take him 2 seconds to give you your own shirt (because you always wore his) and will explain your whole game character to you because he‘s planned it since the first day you‘ve met

No matter how many times Eddie tells you to come to him if you feel bad so you can talk about it, he‘ll never do it himself. He always hides that he‘s also breakable. That he’s a human.

This is the reason you two have some small arguments sometimes, you just want that boy to know that he‘s safe and that you love him no matter what :(

Eddie is traumatized. That’s a fact. He needs a lot of love and attention and just needs to get reminded of it every day (what you love to do really!)

Mostly needy 1-2 blunts until he talks about how he really feels, will even start crying and shaking like a leaf in your arms sometimes because he‘s so overwhelmed with everything. He grabs you and holds you so close to him because he’s scared that you’ll be gone if he opens his eyes again.

You hold him close and support him just the way he needs and deserves it. Gosh that boy loves you so much for it.

Barely falls asleep first because he likes to admire you in your sleep, while you lay in his arms, he also loves playing with your hair softly, smiling like an idiot in love (he is an idiot in love xoxo)

Unpopular opinion rant incoming:

I did not enjoy Baldurs Gate 3

Before anything else I will admit I am biased, as strategy turn based games aren't something I'm usually into to begin with. I mostly ended up playing it because my partners and a friend are SUPER into the game and wanted to do a 4 player run. I do have 30 hours on a solo run I tried to get used to the game with, so I have a decent bit of experience with how it's supposed to run as a single player but I'm not judging companion stories or anything because I haven't completed them.

I do understand why people like BG3, and I don't wanna rain on anyone's parade for a very critically acclaimed game, but I do have some thoughts that I just need to get out of my head, so if you like the game and don't wanna hear me complain about it just scroll on ahead. If you do want to hear me complain, I'd love to hear if anyone else has had the same thoughts, because genuinely I've not really had anyone to talk to that hasn't been head-over-heels for it. (Actual thoughts under the cut)

With that out of the way, for starters BG3 is a very impressive game. From a technical perspective, from a voice acting quality perspective, the sheer amount of tiny tiny details, etc... it is IMPRESSIVE. Too impressive, I'd almost have to say. Because, despite being impressed by it, I did not have FUN playing the game. For all its details it doesn't draw me in. For all the technical marvel, it's just too janky. It's all of the rules of DND and none of the immersion or fun

I would love to have had a functioning camera position that didn't give me whiplash whenever a new character in the combat of 20+ NPCs decides to do so much as shuffle to the left. It feels like pulling teeth when trying to select/interact with anything, god forbid a reaction happens while you're trying to attack and you just completely lose the action bc the interruption to movement pauses everything and screws u up. I'd love to be able to jump without going through two menu screens and a map to just hop over a gap(I'm never complaining about the Dark Souls jump being too complicated ever again). Also everything moves so slow, I would kill for a fucking Sprint button.

I would have liked anything approaching a streamlined combat system that didn't take a long ass time to set up a move that takes six seconds to play out, and then wait for ten minutes literally doing nothing while the rest of the NPCs in initiative whip the viewpoint around and get it stuck in walls and corpses so I can't even see what's happening while I can't do anything for the rest of the round

A lesser gripe, but just a bizarre choice to not do: Id like to hear the character voice I chose in character creation for cutscenes, instead of just background ambient lines. Like, if the last dragon age game (from 2014 mind you) can have a voiced main character with multiple voice options, this new game that has unique voice lines for every goddamn squirrel on the map and ALREADY PAID VOICE ACTORS TO VOICE THE MAIN CHARACTER TO BEGIN WITH can probably afford to do so. Hell, I'd like some background music that isn't just the tenth rendition of Down By The River in a different key. The bard music is all gorgeous, why couldn't they have reused some of those compositions as ambient music for different locations?

This is a MASSIVE game, and what they've put into it is definitely admirable, but like. Not in the ways that make a game breathable or immersive? The choices in where they've decided to dedicate the anal level of detail seems misguided from a just general player standpoint; There's some gorgeous settings in the game, but I was distracted every time by getting frustrated that I couldn't even get a more-than-vague look at any of the scenery I actually enjoyed because the camera is so limited in its angles. So I can't take a good look around what should be a beautiful temple that I'd love to see closer, but I can individually inspect every moldy apple and tax form on a random dinner table instead. It's a vast open world, but the character models have very clearly defined paths they have to stay within. The amount of unique NPCs is insane, but the mechanics themselves TREAT them as NPCs(i.e., resurrection rules), and they don't react to PCs unless ur doing Violence or Crimes (even og skyrim had NPCs have comments on if u weren't like wearing clothes, for instance). Every shelf and bag and nook and cranny are searchable, but that gets overwhelming very quickly as you have to choose between taking like an hour of real time to clear a cluttered area and possibly find something important but more likely just end up with a bajillion rotten carrots, or move on but have the anxiety of knowing you've possibly missed something vital. There's a million options you can take at any moment with any object or character, but there's rarely anything indicating what will be vital later for general world stuff. But then with the main plot (the Emperor, Raphael, the crèche) it felt very railroaded in the sense that TECHNICALLY you could try and choose between outcomes, but your choices don't actually matter because you die if you choose The Wrong Option (or end up in effectively death sentence combat) and will end up where they want you to go regardless.

BG3 isn't a game I want to spend time playing; it's not a world I can wander around and appreciate the beauty of and get lost in the soundtrack or the environments. The whole combat system is incredibly frustrating to manage, and just feels like Hurry Up And Wait. I'm not gonna knock the romance parts of the game, I've heard good things and haven't gotten far enough in any of em to have an educated opinion on, so really the only thing the game has to offer in spades OTHER than romance is replayability. Which normally I would say is a good thing, but for how long of a game it is and how non immersive the gameplay and world feel, it really just ends up being a game of fucking around and seeing how many things you can get an alternate dialogue for or create new stats around. Like, this is great for completionist folks who love collecting achievements and making the most busted crunchy math-based builds possible, but Baldurs Gate 3 to me just isn't a game I can sit down and have Fun(TM) relaxing and playing.

It's a game that I feel absolutely missed the forest for the trees.

So anyways, essay complete. I've only slept like 6 hours total in the last three days so a lot of this may or may not even make sense. But on so much sleep deprivation finishing this game and realizing I was just frustrated with it instead of actually feeling accomplished for having finished it, it was the final straw and I just needed to get the thoughts down somewhere

For those of us who've not touched bg3 but are a fan of sexy vampires...Could you give a quick rundown on Astarion? Or is his lore too extensive?

Sure enough.

I will put this under a cut, though, for those who do not want to be spoiled. (Now I? I totally spoiled myself for the part of the plot I have not reached because with work my plaing has gotten slow.)

So, Astarion is one of your main companions in the game. The very, very short of the game set up (in terms non-DnD-players can understand): You got kidnapped by tentacle monsters who put a tadpole into your brain that is gonna turn you into a tentacle monster as well. Through circumstances you escape the tentacle monsters though before you can be turned and now try to get the tadpole out of your brain before you can grow said tentacles.

Now, your main companions all have the same issue. So does Astarion. You meet him soon after escaping the tentacle monsters. He appears to be an elf, some of your companions note he is a bit pale, but at least my very stupid bard was like: "He looks perfectly fine to me."

But of course you are gonna find him nibbling on your neck sooner or later. And from there on you find out a bit about him.

Now, this sad, sad vampire has been stabbed 200 years ago on the streets of Baldur's Gate, upon which he was found by a vampire. Cazador. Cazador was like: "You can die or you can allow me to turn you into a vampire." And Astarion wanted to live. So he allowed himself to be turned.

But Cazador only turned him into a vampire spawn. (Explanation: In DnD it is a weird mix. Vampires can turn you by just biting you, but until you drink their blood you are only vampire spawn, giving your vampire sire a lot of control over you.)

Cazador is the most horrible, shittiest asshole to ever have walked under this sky. He proceeded to take this poor vampire man who was now under his control and tortured him, raped him, prostituted him, abused him, and at times even used mind control to make Astarion torture himself. According to Astarion Cazador liked his screams so much.

Boy, I am looking forward to killing Cazador. (Or rather letting Astarion do the deed.)

Now, Astarion's character quest mostly involves the fact that Cazador carved something into his back. You will find out, that it is basically a spell that is meant to sacrifice Astarion and his vampire spawn siblings in a ritual so that Cazador can through that gain powers no other vampire has ever had before.

And boy, Astarion is so sad and traumatized and I just wanna hug him and tell him everything is gonna be alright, okay?

The game really managed to gut punch me, before I got spoiled.

See, if you do the romances, it is very dependend on the character how quick you get to a sexy time scene. In the case of Astarion the romance quest starts with him offering you sex. So me, horny as I am, was like: "Yay, let's fuck the sexy vampire." Only to then later learn of his tragic backstory and figure out that the reason he offers you sex that early is, that he never had anyone look out for him before and had thought it was conditional on him offering sex. And I was like: "Oh. Oh baby. Oh baby. I am sorry. Q-Q"

But he is really well written.

Not to spoil too much here, but for the first two acts he is like a very abrasive asshole. Because he is in full survival mode and he does not understand what is going on and all that. And all he ever knew was cruelty and violence. So he thinks that it is the only way to act. But if you are playing a good, heroic character he is slowly gonna come around to you. And he slowly is gonna start to believe that indeed you are being good because you are good and not because you have some greater goal. And then in Act 3 the sweetest thing happens, when you are nice and he suddenly... is also acting nice. It is just so sweet.

But yeah, I wanna hug him and hold him and kiss him and make everything alright. And I will probably spend a good while writing healing fics for him.

Roll a Natural 20

Summary: You’re hanging out with Eddie and getting high when you two decide to play a little DnD take on Dare or Dare.

Characters/Pairings: Eddie Munson x Female Plus Size Reader, Steve Harrington

Warnings: It’s mostly fluff, a little bit of PG13 smut, drug use

You haven’t been this high in awhile. You normally only smoked on special occasions, but lately you’d been hanging out with Eddie more and anytime he offered you a joint you accepted. Being high made you feel more confident around him.

You sprawl out on Eddie’s bed, laughing softly to yourself.

He chuckles and flops down beside you. “You’re a mess, you know that?”

“Mhmm. A big ole dumpy mess.” You giggle.

He snorts. “What?”

“You heard me.” You laugh again.

“You’re an idiot. Nothing dumpy about you.” He mumbles.

“I’m so bored.” You sit up and sigh. “I think my high is already wearing off.”

“No refunds or exchanges.” He reminds you with a grin.

“You suck, Munson. The least you could do is keep me entertained.”

“Fine. What do you wanna do?”

You glance around his room for inspiration. “Wanna play a game?”

He snorts again. “Sure, let me get out my Parcheesi box.”

“I mean something else, smart ass.”

“What, like truth or dare?” He lifts his head to look at you.

You spy some dice on his nightstand and pick one up.

“How about this? If I roll a natural twenty, you have to give me another joint. For free.”

He sits all the way up.

“You’re so on. Roll the dice.”

You toss it on the bed. “Shit. A seven.”

He grins gleefully. “My turn. If I roll a natural twenty, you have to do my homework for an entire week.”

You roll your eyes.

Eddie throws the dice. “Damn. Thirteen.”

“Okay, if I roll a natural twenty you have to actually study for the history test.”

“Ugh.”

You roll the dice. “Fuck. Four.”

“You suck.” He teases, scooting closer to you. His thigh rests against yours and you take notice of the rough fabric of his jeans grazing against your bare skin. You were thankful you wore shorts today.

He takes the dice. “If I roll a natural twenty, you have to make fun of Steve’s hair.”

You giggle. “So you’re trying to get me killed?”

He laughs and rolls. “Fuck yeah! Twenty!”

“You’re kidding me. Steve is gonna kick my ass.”

Eddie slings an arm around your shoulders. “Don’t worry, I’ll protect you from big bad Harrington.”

You roll your eyes. “Give me that damn dice.”

He places it in your hand.

“If I roll a natural twenty, you have to perform a Madonna song at Corroded Coffin’s next gig.”

He groans. “Oh hell no, the game’s over. Gimme that dice!" 

You hold it out away from him.

"Uh-uh, you can’t just end the game like that.” You tease.

He tries to grab your hand but you move it back. He leans in further and you lean backwards, laying on your back.

Eddie stretches out on top of you, still reaching for the dice.

Oh God.

He smirks as he easily takes the dice from your hand. His smile fades when he realizes that you’re underneath him and he’s nestled between your thighs.

“Eddie-”

“If I roll a natural twenty you have to kiss me right now.” He blurts.

What?

“It’s not your turn, dummy.” You protest.

“Don’t care.” He tosses the dice in the air. “Oh look, twenty.”

“You didn’t even look at it-”

He cuts you off with a searing kiss.

You gasp. He’s kissing me. Eddie is kissing me.

He cups your chin with his fingers and tugs gently, opening your mouth. When his tongue sweeps inside, you kiss him back. He groans and shifts between your thighs.

“Can’t believe I’m just now getting around to this.” He chuckles as he breaks the kiss.

“You’ve wanted to kiss me before now?”

“Oh, yeah.” He starts trailing lazy kisses down your neck.

Oh, that feels good.

“I, um, I didn’t think I was your type.”

You feel him frown against your skin. “Hmm?” He mumbles, still planting kisses.

“Well, the last girl you dated was kinda skinny.”

He stops and looks up at you. “What?”

“Not that there’s anything wrong with that! She was really pretty.” You hurriedly say. “But I just took that to mean you like smaller women. Smaller than me, I mean. I thought that was your preferred size or whatever.”

He rolls his eyes. “I couldn’t give a single fuck what size you are, Y/N. You’re gorgeous.” He runs a hand down your side and squeezes your hip.

You blush. “That’s sweet.”

“Mhmm. Now, can I please get back to kissing you?” He sighs impatiently.

“Oh, for sure.”

He trails more kisses on your neck, pushing the neckline of your t-shirt down as he goes.

Mmm, I could let him do this all day.

“You wanna take it off?” He asks, sucking a small red spot near your collarbone.

“Hmm?”

“Your shirt. You should take it off.”

No way. If he sees my stomach it’s all over.

“Actually, don’t worry about it.” He mumbles, and scoots lower on the bed. He pushes your shirt up and kisses your belly.

You fight the urge to push him away, to cover your stomach back up. You flinch as he kisses your bare skin again and he notices.

“You okay?”

“Um, yeah. I’m good.”

He studies your face. “We can stop.”

He rolls off you and lays beside you in the bed.

“Sorry.” You whisper.

“Don’t apologize. You weren’t comfortable. It’s cool.”

“It’s not you. Or anything you did. It felt really good. I’m just kind of shy about my body.”

He frowns. “I don’t see why.”

“It’s just me being insecure. Super sexy, right?” You attempt to joke.

“You’re sexy as hell. Insecure or not.”

You blush and he rolls over to look at you.

“I mean it, Y/N. I’m always staring at your tits or your thighs. Those shorts you wear, they make me feel things." 

"Eddie.” Your face is getting redder by the second.

“I’m just saying. I’m surprised you haven’t noticed. I’ve got it bad, girl.”

So do I.

“Well, you haven’t noticed me staring at you either.”

He grins. “Oh trust me, I’ve noticed. That’s why I kissed you.”

“Oh. I thought I was hiding it pretty well.”

He laughs. “Y/N, you moaned in my ear the other day when I hugged you.”

“Oh my God, I did not!”

“Well, it was more like a little breathy sigh. Still, I heard it. Made my dick twitch.”

You hide your face in your hands. He pulls them away, chuckling. “Don’t hide that pretty face from me.”

“I can’t believe I fucking moaned. From a hug. I’m so embarrassed.”

“Don’t be. It was hot. Made me wonder what other kinds of sounds my Y/N makes.” He winks at you.

“Your Y/N?”

“You heard me.” He kisses you.

You kiss him back happily.

Eddie shifts closer, wrapping an arm around your waist and pulling you to him.

“Hey, Eddie, man, you decent? I was wondering if-” Steve comes through the bedroom door and gasps when he sees the two of you sprawled out on the bed together. “Oh shit, my bad!”

You bury your face in Eddie’s chest. Oh Jesus.

“We’ll be out in a minute, Harrington.” Eddie’s chest rumbles as he laughs.

“I’m officially never leaving this room.” You tell him.

He pecks your lips. “Hey, no complaints here. Although everyone else might object. Come on, let’s go see what he wants.”

A few minutes later you both head to the living room.

“What’s up, Steve?”

“Hormones, obviously.” He teases.

“Shut up.” You sit down on the couch beside him.

“No, for real, I’m seeing this girl tonight and she mentioned she likes a band called Judas Priest? I figured you’d heard of them.”

“I got you, dude.” Eddie disappears to his room and comes back with a cassette. “Here. Play her Turbo Lover.”

Steve smiles gratefully. “Thanks, man.”

Steve and Eddie chat a bit more about music. You notice Eddie occasionally glancing at you, then tilting his head toward Steve.

Oh yeah.

“You better wash your hair before you take her out. It’s been so greasy looking lately.” You pipe up.

Steve whirls in his seat to face you. “Excuse me?”

“Yeah, I’m surprised you aren’t working at McDonald’s. They could use the oil from your hair to cook the fries.” You continue. Eddie chuckles.

“I’m gonna kick your ass!” Steve yells and you yelp as you jump up from the couch and duck behind Eddie.

“He’s not gonna protect you!”

“Eddie, help!” You giggle and jump out of Steve’s grasp.

“You better get your girl, Munson.” Steve threatens, but laughs.

Eddie snakes his arms around you and holds you still. “Get her.”

“Traitor! Deceiver!” You accuse, giggling and trying to get free.

Steven uses his knuckles and rubs your head. “Noogie!”

“Oh, I hate you guys!”

Eddie releases you and you shove him playfully.

Steve chuckles. “Honestly though, I could go for McDonald’s right about now.”

Last Song? I got into Sabaton recently (like, two days ago 😂) and went for a greatest hits playlist on spotify yesterday to check more of their music, so the last song there was "In the Name of God". A really good listen, y'all definitely give it a go if you like heavier sound! I sure missed it.

Favourite colour? Violet! Or, I guess most people say purple, but for me it's the more blue-ish shade I associate with violet, and that's the one ^^

Currently watching? Nothing much, I'm not exactly a tv shows person, and if I end up watching one, I usually binge it (which hasn't happened since Kinnporsche: the series tbh), so for now it's mostly gameplays and let's plays on yt or streams of games Im interested in ^^

Last movie? Oh, I can finally answer this! 😂 I actually caught up on three movies I wanted to watch for quite some time last week. The last-last was Puss in Boots: The Last Wish, which hasn't sucked me in quite as much as I was expecting until the back half of the movie (tbf I usually watch animations with polish dub and this I watched in original, so maybe that had smth to do with it too?), but overall a very lovely movie and the ending was *chef's kiss* and two days earlier I caught up on John Wick Chapter 4 (Hiroyuki Sanada's parts were Amazing and absolutely my fave in the whole movie 💗💗 yes, Im biased, sorry not sorry xD) and I Finally watched Dungeons & Dragons: Honor Among thieves too and y'all... Y'ALL, it was so good 😩👌 I LOVE IT! You can feel so much heart went into it, the humor was super fun, the characters Lovely, it Really felt like a DnD session in play and Holga my absolute beloved 💗 It actually managed to jerk a few tears out of me too 😂 Overall such a lovely movie, absolutely give it a watch if any of y'all hadn't already, it's definitely worth its time 💗 (Also, I'm surprisingly in the mood to catch up on some more movies, any recs anyone? ^^)

Sweet/spicy/savoury? Hm, out of these options, probably savoury. I've been trying to accustom myself to more spicy dishes too and it's slow going, but so far I'm liking that more and more too ^^

Relationship status? Single. Have been for years, unfortunately 😔 I miss having that sort of connection with someone terribly, but so far, no luck.

Current obsessions? Sad to report Im lacking a proper brain rot rn 😔 It was Astarion from BG3 for a while, but I kinda fell off the game after making a 100h in a couple weeks and now Im searching for a proper obsession again. There IS this new survival-building LotR-themed game but I Really don't need another one I'll play for a week or two and abandon forever, not to mention I shouldn't chip away at my savings any more than I absolutely have to now that I'm not working. So... We'll see if I'll cave in or not 😂 (for now I got Shadow of Mordor on sale so I might finally check it out tonight, who knows!)

Last thing you googled? Sabaton - 40:1 'cause I wanted to check the lyrics (and it's currently among my faves from Sabaton and no, not only because it's about polish history! it's just that good ^^)

Really dumb thing I've been thinking about is what classes and races the MHI Crew would play in DnD/Pathfinder.

Earl wouldn't because the only board game he'd be interested in is Monopoly, cause that's when money made sense (I genuinely think he finds video games and TTRPGs silly)

Tanya wouldn't cause she would try to use real elf magic in the game and would get frustrated when Tripp, the DM, says she can't do that.

And Edward wouldn't simply due to the fact that there's way too much talking and numbers involved.

Tripp is obviously the DM, playing either Pathfinder or a more homebrewed version of DnD

Owen would play after Tripp tells him it'll be fun (even though he says that it's a nerd game. As if he isn't a giant fucking nerd himself. My mans, your an accountant, this is a numbers game, and you don't even have to factor in taxes, it was, like, made for you), so he decides to play something he thinks is funny: A Dragonborn rouge who is way too good at sneaking around. He's not edgy, and doesn't have a tragic backstory or anything like that, he's just a shit stirrer. Only later realizing "Oh... crap this is actually kinda fun", turning his character into the best part of the campaign.

Julie would play a gunslinger Halfling, mostly cause I think she would play something she knows (and Tripp would definitely change some gunslinger rules to make them more realistic), and I think she really likes the trope "cute, but deadly". She'd 100% play the sweetheart of the group, and play the character closest to her personality.

And while Owen and Julie try not to have their characters fall in love, it kinda happens on accident cause the two idiot lovebirds won't stop jokingly flirting with each other, and whoops, how did they end up in the same bed?

Holly would play a male Goliath barbarian, and would be the only person playing someone of the opposite sex. She doesn't care about the roleplaying or anything like that. Her characters entire personality is: A'm only 'ere t' crack skulls, an' fuck bitches... and a'm all outta bitches t' fuck". Girl doesn't care at all about the kingdom they need to save, she just wanna roll dice and swing her axe around.

"I would like to rage" is her favorite thing to say.

This is all mostly headcanon that I have no proof for other than "yeah, that feels about right", but it's fun and i think fit's their personalities... I... might have to draw these characters now, lol

a few friends and i are participating in a 26 week challenge called the ✨ Alphabet Superset ✨ where we do something creative each week with a prompt starting with a letter of the alphabet, one letter each week!

description: Aether is an air genasi wizard who was abandoned as a child and raised by night hags. One of his eyes was replaced by a hag’s eye, which the coven uses to spy on him and influence him even now that he’s escaped. He learned magic from a kind old wizard that took him in after finding him alone in the woods. Disturbed by the thoughts the hags would channel into his mind, he ran away shortly after beginning to learn magic, resolved to teach himself everything he needed to know on his own.

present day notes: Aether was a lot! His entire backstory was inspired by taking one look at the “Haunted One” dnd background and saying “oh I could work with that.” The more I play bg3 the more I wonder if I should’ve just made Aether but as a half elf or something for the dark urge play through. I haven’t thought about him in quite awhile, but he still holds a special place in my heart. If I was to rewrite his backstory again, I’d probably change a lot of things around, but this whole challenge for me is about embracing the choices I made in years past, so we’re sticking to the backstory, agnst and all.

my only character thats actually from dnd (my online group plays other ttrpgs) and "active" (we played two sessions 3 months ago ;w; but! might play again) Is Yeshe :3

Its a mdzs inspired campaign... im pretty sure, i havent watched it... so i based her off of tibetan folk clothes and ofc off of a pallas cat. She hadnt had time to shine as a character yet and her backstory and motivations are bit murky =w= but the gist is that she takes care of her magically gifted little sibling (another player character, my sketch attached), they were raised in a remote commune and are now going to the big city.

Now, the character from a finished campaign of City Of Mist (really cool system!!!) thats been on my mind a lot recently is my beloved Theooooooo

He was originally an oc completely detached from any specific setting, then I put him with my beloved Rochelle (in the blue dress, she started out as a dnd character but got only like 2 sessions back in 2020 :'3) in my own version of feywild (ill get to it later).

And then!!! I decided to play him in that CoM game and it was the best decision everrrrrrrrrr he was so so so so sos ososoosososos fun :3. CoM is urban fantasy where people become "rifts" for mythical beings and are able to use their power.

Theo was a Detective and a Fey and i really enjoyed playing an absolutely devious, controlling and charming guy =w=. His main motivation was power, he thought most people (except for his wife rochelle altough they have a tomshiv thing going on) are beneath him and mostly there for him to order around like chess pieces. And something that made this campaign insanely fun for me was that in order to get more powerful he had to do a task for the fey queen - kidnap and deliver a singer to her. A singer which also happened to be the person we had to protect during our investigation... dm and me kept it secret.

It was so insanely fun to walk into every scene thinking of how to find an opportunity to do that... in the end I managed to, in a very tense scene (the greyscale sketch at the top, the girl smiling behind theo is one of the fey messangers). The other PCs didnt stop him because they had some trust in him... got away with it completely :3. Tho I agreed not to play him in the next campaign (even tho id love to >_<) bc his jig was kinda up. Great character tho, and thanks to my dm i finally get warlocks, i might play one sometime!

Now, still in the city of mist im playing Valerie :3

Her mythos is "Vampire" but she refuses to drink blood... she gets all sorts of issues bc of that, has trouble keeping down frineds and jobs ect... Still very early in the campaign but shes pretty fun :3 tho i prefer chracters who are a bit more commanding, i made her more of a follower to let my group breathe after theo but i kinda naturally fell back into organising the party again last session so i think i just need to stick to making charismatic characters next time sidugfsd. shes a nice change of pace tho, im excited for whats in store for her.

My feywild!!! It's a setting ive had in my head ever since i made Rochelle, Its sort of an early modern france mixed with Jonathan Strange and Mr Norrell which sounds pretty lame and ig it is isudgfsd.

Theres a lot of ideas and a lot of characters that i dont really have time to develop and am prolly gonna rework a million times =w= but its fun, and its fun to make plalists for random archfey.

Last character I'll mention =w= even tho i never got to play him because the campaign fell apart before the fist session, as they often do, I really love Byk and I wanna show you guys...

Tadeusz Byk born in 1880 in Poland, Emigrated to the usa (boston then moved near new york) with his mother and grandma when he was 13... Operates a temporary house for immigrants that his mother started. Now 40, works as a tailor and sells moonshine on the side. Depressed, repressed and with a big heart... hope i get to dust him off for something someday...

level one, prep, and tpk; secret and heart for sigrun

Level One: What was your first experience with D&D? How did you hear about it? What was your first game like?

My first experience was DMing a one shot LOL

I had just gotten really into critical role in 2016, and was nearly caught up, when some of my friends (who didn't know I was currently Hyperfixating On DnD) actually casually brought up that they'd never played dnd before but it sounded like fun. They just needed someone to run the game since no one there really knew the rules. Cue me jumping into the conversation being like, "HAHAHAH HeyyyYyy you guys wanna play some dnd and need someone to run it? as it JUST SO HAPPENS, I know the rules and would LOOOVE to try running a game hahahaha..."

So I prepped more for that one shot than I ever did for any session ever, it was a level 1 4 hour game where I made everyone character sheets, bought dice sets for everyone, and had them clear out a wizard's basement filled with giant rats. It was REALLY fun, no one seemed to catch on that i ALSO had no idea what i was doing, and afterwards I asked if they would be interested in a Longer Campaign. I had a couple takers, and that first campaign ran for probably about five sessions before the school year ended, so nothing too wild happened, but after that I got some real games set up and ... here we are several years later :)

Prep: How much prep work do you do? How far out do you prep?

I do like... 1-3 hours of prep work before each individual session. And even then, it's mostly like... finding maps and stat blocks for NPCs. I go into each Arc that I run with a general outline in mind for what big beats I want to have happen, but otherwise I let each session progress based on what the PCs decide to do. It's definitely a combination of laying down tracks vs improv on the fly, but so far it's worked out for me! Having a really loose style has definitely helped make the story feel organic and player choice-oriented while still keeping things moving in the direction I'm hoping it'll go. And it gives flexibility for when players do things WILDLY unexpected!

TPK: Have you ever had a game go completely off the rails? TPK? How did you adjust?

I've come CLOSE to some TPKs but the players juuuust managed to squeak by, which is always my favorite kind of vibe. It's way harder to plan for that than you'd think when you've been DMing for 7 PCs for so long LOL

Honestly I don't think I've had anything go completely off the rails, or even really come Close to being that out of control? I've definitely had players make WILD choices that altered the course of FUTURE sessions, but my DMing style allows for a lot of flexibility I think, so I've never really been. THROWN by anything if that makes sense. I always LOVE it when the players make choices that Alter The Narrative Entirely.

My favorite example is when a friend of mine playing a cleric who was devoted (by accident) to Chaos, decided at the last second, in game, to NOT accept the help of their Chaos God and decided to just DIE instead. We had worked out a plan for her corruption arc!! It was going to be sick!! But apparently in the moment, during a big fight against a really difficult Boss, she looked around at her friends and decided her character would actually rather die than become corrupted and potentially break the world/hurt her friends. it was INSANE and COMPLETELY changed the next arc of the campaign since Ethros. DIED and couldn't be revived. And I loved it and we worked out a whole new arc for Ethros later :)

Secret: Is there anything that you know about your character but your character doesn’t know? What is it? How did you come up with this secret?

AUGH YES -- this was actually something that happened in game. From her backstory, Sigrun's village was attacked by raiders and she nearly died in the assault. She was healed by a strange figure she didn't recognize, swore an oath to what she Believed To Be the old gods to get revenge for them, and then this figure gave her Daisy and sent her off to safety.

NOW SIGRUN DOESN'T KNOW THIS... but that figure was actually her dad Osvald. who was sent forward in time by the Old God of Negentropy. to fulfill his wish to protect her. So I was playing Osvald at the time in a mini campaign, got this wish, and wished to Protect Sigrun. Then the DM narrated Osvald getting sent into the future, and I realized it was a scene from SIGRUN'S backstory, and I promptly lost my mind casting cure wounds on her and find familiar to give her Daisy. it was SOOOO GOOD

Heart: What drives your character? Do they have a theme, question, mission, etc. that they’re holding onto? How did you pick it for them?

Sigrun's character absolutely revolves around the theme of Family, in all its messiness and love. What do you do when the people who raised you tried their best but couldn't give you what you needed? How do you feel about them? How do you deal with people leaving, with being alone, with them going off without you? What do you owe family, if anything?

She has this mission to rescue her family members (yes I do this backstory in different variations for like. all of my PCs. dont worry about it) who have all been taken by this interdimensional raiding group, but something she doesn't admit to herself is that she's somehow trying to rescue her Dead Father too. And maybe she's trying to rescue herself? She's got insane abandonment issues from the various family members Leaving (by choice or by force), and I think there's a part of her subconscious that desperately wishes someone had come back for her when she was little, so now she's trying to act out that wish by Rescuing Everyone Else.

What were your first ideas like as you were coming up with Dandelion? :D

His genesis was really barebones at first because he was my first DnD character. It was:

I wanna play a drow warlock! A gambling, drinking smooth talker! Even deeper lore: I took a lot of inspiration from the song Honky Cat by Elton John but mostly the sequence of that song in the Rocketman movie

And he's got amnesia because he, uh, was kicked out of the Feywild for doing something bad (gambling away an engagement gift), so he forgot everything from there due to the Feywild magic. But mostly he's got amnesia because I both have never played DnD before and want a reason to be reasonably clueless, and he's an old elf so I need a reason for him to be Level 1.

What does he want? I always give my character's one thing they want more than anything when I make them to inform their character, give em drive, and most importantly make them an Active character rather than a Reactive character. So for Dande, that thing was Home. He just really, really, really, wants to go back home. It's been a century since he's been kicked out so he's got decades of wanting, wishing, and waiting.

His mom's a hag (because I love evil women and especially messed up moms).

He's a drow in a world where that aint so cool all the time, so he's gotta be in disguise! At first the disguise was just him color-swapped, but right before we started playing I wanted something more so I came up with this happy-go-lucky, airheaded woman named Robin that he pretends to be. AND THEN HE STAYED ROBIN FOR 60+ SESSIONS/OVER A YEAR AND I WAS SITTING AROUND LIKE "MAN I WOULD REALLY LOVE TO SHOW WHAT HE LOOKS LIKE! WOULD REALLY LOVE TO DRAW HIM! BUT I CAN'T!!! (word of advice: if you're an artist that wants to obsessively draw your oc do NOT give them a disguise they maintain for that long).

I was really fortunate to be playing with a group I've known since an RP group we were in years ago, so I felt comfortable with doing some long-term RP shenanigans like maintaining a disguise.

But that's about it! I learned waaay more about him as I played. The What does he want? thing informed has informed soooo much of his character throughout the game (and now I am obsessed with him. crap).

Im always a bit on the fence about getting into new systems bc my players LOVE dnd and like prefer that to everything else even if we do play other systems every once in a while for one/twoshots and since I'm the forever it feels a bit bad to learn a new system and read the entire book and dumb it down with notes for my players but

Oh god. Firstly I'm so sorry but Shadowrun is such a confusing system that your players might immediately hate it and you might too. I got lucky getting a GM who has been playing Shadowrun abt as long as I've been alive but even then there are times we both get confused by the books and what they say. A lot of this is just because the writing of SR is. Well. All over the place. It gets tossed around a lot and ppl write the books without knowing stuff or they change stuff and it doesn't make sense so really. If you do look into it. All I can say is just do what makes sense to you.

As far as NPCS go, it's also difficult to recommend any cuz. Shadowrun NPCS come in two flavors: Your average Capitalist Corporate Some Guy (probably doesn't even have any art/hasn't had any new art in abt 15 years) or the most insane mfer on the planet but theyre one of the MAJOR players in the world. Which those guys are pretty cool. A lot of them are dragons tho. A few dragons do have "canon" human disguises tho. Like Lofwyr, hes cool as fuck.

There's also Harlequin who is fucking deranged but he's an important NPC who's been around a long time

Worst part is that most named NPCs just do not have a lot of appearances because they're SO important in the higher up schemes they mostly exist for lore. And again these two only have these images from the video games that exist. Which those are fun those are a great time and if you don't wanna jump into sourcebooks, Shadowrun Returns is a great starting point to get to know the world and lore. But I love Shadowrun! Very hard to recommend at times! It's a difficult system and the lore is a mess and if you wanna look for someone that's prime kissing material good luck finding info on any existing characters! JHGJLDSG It's great tho please don't let all of that deter you-

ohhh!! heyyy chipperino been a while :D ty for the ask Hmmm, I guess I'll talk about my FFXIV character cuz some of these are dnd character spoilers for a follower 👀

Its kinda long so...

A bit of context: Kaz is my character in Final Fantasy XIV, Miqo'te are FFXIV cat-people, split into Sun and Moon tribes. Kaz is a Moon catboy, saviour of the world, praised by (mostly) all because FFXIV story makes you overpowered af and its great.

1. How does your OC feel about their full name? His name is Kazdr'a Tayuun, a fairly standard name for his clan, he has no particular attachments to it, it's just his given name. Most people just call him Kaz

3. How does their social personality differ from how they act when they’re alone? Depends on the company, if its with world leaders and stuff he does do his best to sit upright and look proper and polite and serious, all of which he is definitely good at /s. With friends hes more mischevious and smug about causing problems on purpose if hes in the mood for it. Alone hes rather quiet and contemplative, enjoying the silence.

5. Do they have a “tell” for when they’re lying? Oh his expression and tail swooshes give all of his emotions away, he doesnt even try to hide it. He rarely lies, he doesnt often have reason to, but his ears and tail would probably twitch or droop when lying.

7. What is their hair texture like? Soft like cat fur when it isnt caked in blood or just a mess from being out adventuring for a couple weeks.

9. Do they have a word or phrase that they tend to overuse? Not particularly, he doesnt speak often, hes generally a pretty quiet guy.

10. What is a weird quality that they have (ie their hands are always cold, they’re always hungry, they snort when they laugh, etc)? Hmmm. He is strangely pale. I've dabbled in the idea of him being undead, having died in the 7th Umbral Calamity but coming back somehow. Kaz wouldnt be aware of it though.

15. Are their greatest flaw and their greatest strength related and in what way? (ie very caring and helpful but a doormat, or very observant and shrewd but often paranoid) His greatest strength is his combat prowess, undefeated in any battle (so far). His greatest weakness? Probably his love of combat, it'll get him killed someday for sure. His other weakness is literature, he cant read, but thats not related in any way to being really good at stabbing things.

16. How has their childhood affected the way they view an aspect of their life (people, education, society, themselves, etc)? Moon Miqo'te are a tribe of hunters so he grew up learning how to hunt and kill which definitely influenced his goals of just finding tougher more interesting prey. Thankfully the whole misandrist society didnt affect him at all, totally blind to this whole gender thing, what's a gender and can I kill it?

NO OMG IM SO EXCITED!! I'll be answering for Corian, my homebrew artificer from Kibblestasty's Inventor/Revised Artificer class, because he's the one I'm playing currently. Otherwise I have a long-term bard named Rhys who has many many different alternate selves who some of you may know from my other posts or rp videos.

✨ CORIAN'S DND ASKS ✨

What is your character’s morning routine?

I answered this one before so I'm going to copy and paste from the other one (forever ago!! it 's ok if you didn't know) because it hasn't changed much.

Corian is very messy and not a very consistent person, so his morning “routine” varies widely. When he manages to wake up early and is feeling like a morning person, he goes down to the bakery in his hometown, Leviathan, and grabs some pastries and coffee for breakfast. He might have classes to teach at the wizarding school or other important uhhh business in town don’t worry about it (he is/used to be a spy for an evil organization in-game shhh).

Most of the time though he just wakes up any time between 10am and 12pm, slaps himself in the face a little bit, downs some shitty instant coffee or any leftover alcohol and eats whatever breakfast he can scrounge together while he’s already working on gadgets for the day. Theoretically he reads the paper in this time too. That’s a very civil and professional thing to do, right? His mechanical familiar, Cogs, holds up whatever he’s reading and turns the pages for him if his hands are busy, or Corian uses his mechanical third arm he straps to his equipment to turn the pages himself and assist in the drinking coffee.

3. Do they eat breakfast? What’s they favorite?

I kinda answered this one with the morning routine post, but Corian has a pretty big sweeth tooth and loves going to the Leviathan bakery!! For any kind of pastries really but he got kind of a reputation in-game for bringing "apology donuts" to the party for 1. spying on them and 2. accidentally on purpose showing them the dildo room in his house.

So.. donuts??

But also any food that his mom used to cook for him. He really misses his family and anything she cooked was probably amazing bc she's one of Those Moms™️

9. How do they like their mornings? Rainy and chilly? Bright and sunny? Not at all because they don’t wake until noon?

Yeah Corian is a late riser so mostly up at noon when he has the luxury of it. (But he was also a middle school teacher at a magic school so...)

However he does like a good, quiet, rainy morning. Corian has an... interesting... relationship with the rain and thunderstorms. (His gun is powered on storm energy, and the gun as a.. loaded... backstory).

However he hasn't experienced a good non-sleety rain in a long time, because when he was "exiled" (for lack of a better word) to his current hometown, Leviathan, by the evil org he worked for, Leviathan is really far north and so it's always snowy. (I jokingly have called it dnd alaska). He's grown to love the snowy mornings too, as long as it's light snow and not like a blizzard or that horrible sleet shit.

15. Do they prefer warm days or cool ones?

I think Corian used to prefer warm days, but he's lived in Fantasy Alaska for so long he likes the cold now. He's made peace with it and decided he enjoys it. We'll see what happens when he gets back to a sunnier climate.

22. Do they like to share meals with their party?

YES. YES OH GOD YES. Corian LOVES getting to eat meals with his little found family because it reminds him of his huge family back home. (He's one of six siblings). One of our other party members, the rogue/monk name E'kayah, is an excellent cook and always making the nicest, cutest meals and Corian genuinely thinks it's so sweet. The other party member is also his current girlfriend (maybe too strong a term for either of them, but he still cares about her alot) so that's nice too.

25. What is their comfort item/habit?

TINKERING. Corian is an artificer and a big component of my particular subclass (Gadgetsmith) is that he's constantly coming up with new inventions. So in any downtime or when they're just sitting around chilling (and sometimes even at dinner) he just has stuff out and is tinkering. Corian has a mechanical familiar, Cogs, that's a tiny modrone that was a result of said tinkering, and he also has a Clockwork Amulet given to him by his father (also a clockmaker/artificer) that he always keeps close to him.

29. Do they use napkins when they eat?

Only if absolutely necessary.

38. Do they remember their dreams?

Yes. Corian has a really vivid imagination so he is constantly having bizarre dreams that he probably rants to the party about at breakfast. ("Lena I had a dream your hair was made of glue!") And some of these dreams have probably inspired inventions. Corian's also had his fair share of recurring nightmares due to things in his backstory, which were exacerbated during their stint in the Shadowfell, but they're out of the Shadowfell now so those should be getting better!!

status update? for the curious

*squints* uhh boy howdy I guess it's been a hot minute since i was like, active here

....how about I. uhh

ok so mostly what ive been doing is playing The Doctor in D&D. kinda.

lemme just, ,, context? ok so there's this dnd kinda homebrew thing called Toonkind which basically introduces cartoon races which can do wild and wacky things that your average human/teifling/elf whatever can't, and they're extremely super cool

and there's this discord for like, playing dnd games that center around this Toonkind homebrew that take place (mostly) in a particular world where Toons live and it's like living in a cartoon there, literally one of the locations is called Toontown i adore it

and I joined up like a year ago and started playing an expy (short for "exported character") or "bootleg version" of the Doctor from Doctor Who because miraculously nobody had claimed them yet

so! yeah! I've been playing "The Professor" for nearly a year now, with a bunch of cool and awesome new friends and fellow players, and that's part of the reason I've been on tumblr less. can only split my time so many ways, yanno?
