Okay so anyone who reads this gets to hear my convoluted Mashup of trigun stampede/bsd. (This is more notes than anything but you can still look at it)

The setting is the same as trigum stampede- so a barren world that takes place in the future. Abilities won't exist in this world, but there are weapons and tools that will act as their abilities in some cases. The plot will pretty much follow trigun stampede too a t but with a personal spin on it and it'll fit the characters a bit more.

Dazai would definitely be Vash. Everyone thinks he's a demon, one who can no longer be human, etc but he's actually just a womanizer and a professional suicidal maniac. (With an excessive amount of trauma of course. I'll make him not human too. Maybe it can correlate to his bandages somehow?)

Chuuya would be Wolfwood. He wouldn't have an ability, but he gets to have a gun that'll manipulate gravity for him. He keeps his same backstory from stormbringer. Instead of Livio he has to fight one or maybe all of the flags?

I think Atsushi would be Meryl? I'm uncertain about this one but it makes the most sense

Kunikida would be Roberto and Atsushi's partner. He'll face the same fate as Roberto did.

Million Knives would be Fyodor. He'd see normal humans as sinful and wants to eradicate them all (Dazai felt the same at some point)

And then Nikolai would act as either Zazie or Legato. I haven't really figured out his role yet bit he's definitely working with Fyodor in some way.

I'm getting into reading and writing fanfic for the first time and I've noticed a lot of dialogue heavy pieces. I'm curious to know if this has to do with readers' preferences, especially when it comes to smut. Maybe my impressions are incorrect and both exist in equal amounts - as I said, I'm new to this.

So as a white European I do struggle with telling Asian people apart. But I do know that Vietnamese don't look anything like Chinese, tho don't ask me to tell who is from Vietnam and who is from Philippines, I can't. And while it's not at glance, I can kinda get the general idea of what makes Japanese different from Koreans.

So it baffles me to no end when white people can't tell the difference between like.. ikd, Russian white and British white? Or Polish and Swedish? Because, it's usually obvious? I've lived about 20km from the Russian border at one part of my life and I could usually tell if someone was Russian, even without hearing them speak, even with such a small distance. The differences between east, north, and south are pretty clear. And central Europe is the vague one but also, they do have their things.

But then again, these people who don't see that with white people are usually USAmericans so they live in a melting pot, which means they're exposed to so many ethnicities in blended ways. I, as a Nordic person am not. A Vietnamese person in here is Vietnamese, not part Vietnamese, part white American, part something else. And Latvian is not Latvian anymore when they're in the US, they're American. White is white in so many places, so no need to think about it more but here it's clear who is Eastern European and who is Scandinavian, for example.

And since I don't have much exposure to people from different African regions, I don't usually know what part they're from, so that is fair and I need to work on exposing myself more to that. But also, I do think being used to seeing those differences in people is a thing and it's not a useless thing. In fact, being unable to see ethnicity and culture, being blind to those things, might in fact be more harmful in the long run. But also, yes, being aware and watchful of that is a tool for racism. Yet I don't think being colour blind has helped much anyone.
