What modern-day ethnic groups have the most Semitic ancestry?

There is no such thing on Earth as Semitic ancestry. This is a common misnomer and one of the oldest and most ignorant of our century.

Semitic is about LANGUAGE, not ethnicity just like Bantu is about language not ethnicity.

Ethnicities who have native Semitic languages are

Arabs many Ethiopians and Native Hebrew speakers. The continent with the most number of Semitic languages is Africa! The greatest number of speakers of Semitic languages is Arabic.

should there be personifications for ethic groups living in countries? assuming that country personifications are the majority ethnicity. e.g. china/wang yao being han chinese.

A Dream About Macaques

This morning I am dreaming, and in my dream I stand at my backyard fence.

I live next to a secondary school. My backyard abuts the school's assembly ground. There is a commotion in the assembly ground. A group of hooting, whooping students, a laughing teacher -- and six macaques:

Dressed up in six red shirts and slacks, six black sampins, six black songkoks.

The whooping students and laughing teacher surround the macaques. They drag the animals across the assembly ground, towards the stage.

The macaques look terrified. Some of the boy students mime backhands and punches at the macaques. They flinch. If they let out a screech they get slapped, bodily shaken.

The teacher watches and laughs.

I open my fence gate, hop the ditch, and walk over to this group of students, teacher, and monkeys.

I approach the teacher and I say: "Excuse me, selamat petang, I am your -- "

"Ah ni ni ni, ni ni ni," he replies, mocking my tone and laughing.

I guess he is caught up in the tomfoolery of it all, and doesn't quite register I am not a student, and maybe I did use a querulous, apologetic tone. So I correct that.

"Oi, boroi. Bo-roi."

As I do this, the group of students are shushing themselves. They realise there is a stranger among them, somebody outside they established hierarchy --

"Senyap boleh tak? I cakap baik-baik you tak nak dengar."

Not teacher-overseer, not student-underling, not monkey-victim. For now.

The teacher looks taken aback, momentarily blindsided. He insists on replying in English:

"You! You know what is 'boroi'? How can you talking to me like that? 'Boroi', you know?"

He mimes being fat. He has a bigger belly than me. Shamefully, that was the first insult I could think of. A milquetoast one; not bad enough I'd get hit.

"I tahu. You cakap tak baik kat I, I cakap tak baik balik kat you. So kita settle. Try again. Hello. I am your school's next door neighbour, resident kat taman sebelah tu. I nak tahu you sekarang ni buat apa?"

He looks at me, then looks at the six macaques in red baju melayus.

"Oh nothing. Project, just school project."

A student says: "We do Tik-Tok! With the monyet!"

He mimes hitting one of the macaques. It cowers -- its songkok falls off. The student grabs the songkok and stuffs it back onto the macaque's head.

"You!" the teacher glares at that student. "Senyap!"

I ask: "Ni project atas arahan siapa? Nowadays project sekolah main dengan kera buat Tik-Tok ke?"

My bluster has given me the initiative. For now.

Soon they will realise I am a nobody in these school grounds. This is their place of power. I am an interloper, here -- I have as much place in their hierarchy as the macaques.

What can I say to these teachers and students? How can I say it? To stop them messing with the macaques?

An appeal to their humanity would not work. Why would they care about cruelty to animals? School tells them that they should be cruel to everybody -- headmasters bullying teachers; teachers bullying students; students bullying each other.

It's good to have the macaques: victims more wretched than yourselves.

I say what comes to mind:

"I think you all should stop. Bukan la I care about these kera, but they are wild animals, kena gigit kena rabies. One of your students kena then how?"

The teacher sense some of his authority returning. "No no, I know how to jaga, these monkeys no rabies. I tahu." He taps his chest.

"Lagipun, you want to post on Tik-Tok? Idea student you ke? Have you thought this through? Post kat socmed, how you know how it is going to go viral?"

The brows on the teacher furrow. He looks again at the macaques: waddling in their black sampins, ducking in their black songkoks. Cowed and lowly persons.

I say:

"You tak rasa hina ke? Monyet pakai baju Melayu? I don't know la, I'm not Malay. But even I rasa macam hina. What is this saying? Orang Melayu monyet ke?"

I don't actually think this -- but the racial thing is always a visceral thing, a live wire. I see electricity in his eyes.

"You cannot say that!" he says.

"I'm not saying that. I'm saying what I am seeing. And if I can see that, you think netizens won't see that also? You nak viral macam tu? 'Cikgu sekolah hina bangsa'?"

"Mana I hina," he says. He sweeps his arm at his students, to get them to back off. One of them let's go of a macaque's arm --

It bolts, dashes across the assembly ground. Its songkok falls off. The other monkeys screech. The students whoop.

The teacher stops his student from chasing after the escaping macaque.

"I know you tak hina. But all it takes is one person saying that. And then how? Was this a student's idea? But you bagi permission, you yang responsible, tau."

At this, I notice the students flinch. One of them pulls a songkok off a macaque and puts it on his own head.

"And this project is not arahan from pengetua, right? So you think the school going to backup you?"

The teacher looks at me.

Then he looks at his students -- they look down, they look at each other.

Then he looks at the macaques, showing their teeth, in red shirts and slacks, in their black kain and black songkok -- and one of them bites a student's arm.

The student screams, and I wake up.

I no longer have any hope of survival like I had at the beginning of this genocide, and I am certain that I will die in the next few weeks or maybe days. I have been sick with severe viral infection for days and cannot move from the mattress!

I suffer from nightmares that are so closely resemble reality that I no longer differentiate between reality and dream.

I live in a world other than the one I claimed to be building! I am a community activist who lived on the fantasy that the world was free and just, and I sought to bring rights not only to my people, but to many men and women in third world countries!

I was shocked that I was not from the third world! Indeed, we are the most humane and moral!
