"What exactly do you think you're looking at?" You hear moira call from across the room. Your eyes lock with hers as she turns around - and you can't help but grin at her. She rolls her eyes at you, returning to her work - though still being able to feel your eyes on the back of her head.
"You look good in that lab coat~" She gives no response to your words, though you had an idea of what her reaction was. You were aware that she wasn't into you - but oh were you into her.
Ever since you had joined Talon, you had only had eyes for the geneticist. She was aware of it - as were everyone else in Talon. The rest of them didn't find it half as annoying as she did though.
Moira O'deorain was not interested in anything other than science, there was no doubting that. In fact, the only reason you were even allowed into her lab was because you had agreed to her doing her science stuff on you.
Well, now Moira was probably wishing someone would whisk you away to do the work she knew you had yet to complete.
"Do you ever cut your nails?" She hears your voice again, slightly muffled as you rest your chin in the palm of your hand.
Even if she was turned away, you could still see the nails on her decaying hand were a lot longer than those on the other. It had to be uncomfortable. Then again, Moira wasn't exactly the type to favour being comfortable.
"Do you ever close your mouth?" Moira grumbles back, moving to take a look at the screen that was positioned beside your chair - the wires connected to it were attached to your temples in the form of sensors - monitoring you.
"I just like talkin' to you" Moira can't help but rolls her eyes at your words, but she does notice something on the screen. Obviously, she had to test the theory.
"At me" She responds, noting down the spike that happens on the screen. Moira seemed to be right about her hypothesis here - whether or not that was good was another question.
You laugh at her words, but nod in agreement. "I enjoy talking at you" You concede. It was rare for the scientist to respond with more than a few words, but you were happy with whatever you could get out of her. She wasn't the most talkative person - though honestly most Talon members were like that. And.. You'd really rather not talk to Mauga...
"Look at this" Moira spins the screen around to show you after a moment, pointing to the high points in the wavelength. Another one shows up on the screen after a second, though how science-y the screen looked made you very confused.
"This-" She sighs, annoyed that you didn't seem to understand something you weren't even qualified for. Her finger moves to the newest wave, and you notice how she grimaces before continuing. "Is your Gamma waves - or your concentration" The idea of having to dumb it down seemed pretty inconvenient for her, but she powered through. "It seems as though you're more attentive when I am talking" It was clear that the whole idea was almost unbelievable to her - if the evidence hadn't been in front of her.
Though, you can't help but chuckle - maybe not at her, but at the idea. "I could've told you that, doc"
The ginger scowls slightly as she turns the screen around again. "Maybe you should listen when I'm telling you to be quiet, then" Her words always had a way of making you laugh, even if you knew that she was being deadly serious. You have to lean a little to your left for her to rid your head of the sensors. She does it rather harshly, but who are you to complain?
"Admit it, Moira. You like me a little~"
"Get out"

This wasn’t the way you expected your night to end, not at all. The words you’ve exchanged, the things you’ve promised, was it all just from the heat of the moment? Even now, he’s asking you to say it, telling you to say it. And you know when you do, it will give a whole new meaning to your relationship.
“Daddy…”
“Fuck me,” Dropping his forehead to your shoulder, his hips stop their brutal pace, choosing to grind into your pelvis instead.
“Daddy,” You repeat more passionately, holding the back of his head while rolling your hips up against him.
The way he’s been speaking to you has your mind spiraling, your heart pounding and limbs shaking. He really loves you?
“Baby,” Hands sliding down, you hold either side of his face, bringing his lips back to you.
David meets you, the kiss deep while he exhales a strong breath from his nose. Those warm, brown eyes are shielded by his lids as he moans quietly from above, mumbling against your mouth, “I’m gonna cum, baby.”
All you can do is nod, laying your head back while trying to catch your breath. Lovingly, Dave stares at your neck, coming down to press heated kisses to your skin. He isn’t sucking or nipping, not at all being rough. He’s mouthing at you, moaning from the sensations you’re giving him and basking in it. There hasn’t been a time in his life where he’s had sex as passionate as this. He doesn’t know what it is, doesn’t know if it’s because you’re so much younger or because you’re so goddamn beautiful; maybe it’s because of how amazing you are to him. When he saw you, something just clicked.
“Please, h - harder… baby.”
Your soft, warm, tender touch then slides down his side, curling around his lower back and pressing on his ass. Pinching his eyes shut, he lets out an airy gasp, shoving his face into the space beside your neck.
He uses everything he can, but he knows it won’t last. Shoving himself between your legs about a handful of more times is what does it, now sitting inside you to the hilt. The hot breath of David’s groan fans over your ear, his body stilling above you, but only just for a moment. It’s almost like he’s floating, that sensation short lived before he comes crashing back down. It shivers through him, the euphoria of his release, his chest heaving desperate breaths while he tightens his grip on you. And you let him, enjoying the feeling of being surrounded by him, consumed by him.
“F-Fuck,” He’s shaking lightly, keeping himself between your thighs.
In between your own heavy breaths, you smile, fingers lifting to brush his hair back. Turning your head to the side, you sigh, kissing his cheek while he begins to relax. “You really love me?”
Shaking his head in disbelief, he swallows before responding with, “I don’t know how it happened so fast.”
Grinning brighter, you kiss his cheek again, watching as those beautiful brown eyes return to you. “I love you, David.” While cupping his face, your thumb strokes his skin, the stubble slowly growing in. “I really do.”
You’re not sure what you expected from him, but you think it’s humorous how lazy he becomes. It’s only after at least ten minutes that he gets up, pulling himself from you, but not before giving your face and body a flurry of kisses, too. He seems so enamored, so enwrapped in the tender love he has for you. It’s like the two of you have been waiting your entire lives to connect, and now, you finally have.
Plopping down on the bed beside you, he watches you get to your feet, making your way over to the ensuite. The air feels so natural and warm between the two of you, coming back to climb over his broad body when you’re finished in the bathroom.
“You wanna stay the night?” Settling over his chest, you grin, staring up at him. And he smiles.
“You know I do.”
“Maybe we could order some food?” Sliding your finger over his skin, he grins, reveling in your closeness. He can’t remember the last time he felt like this.
At this point, it’s late in the night, and you’re assuming you’ll be able to relax together until the morning. And Dave assumes the same, until your doorbell rings.
Immediately, he looks up, with you sitting upright to turn your head, too. “Did you already order some?” It’s a joke, despite his skepticism of this stranger’s arrival.
“No.” Scrambling off his lap, you slide on some sweatpants, alongside one of David’s shirts. “I’ll be back.”
Internally, you’re praying this isn’t one of the frat guys. You knew that some of them were interested in you, but if they were going to make a move, shouldn’t they have done that at the party?
“Hello?” It’s said as you’re opening the door, your unsure expression quickly growing happy. Well, happy and confused. “Oh, h-hey.”
Hearing your nervous voice startles him slightly; he’d been listening. Hopping quietly off the bed, he finds his boxers, slipping them on before stepping lightly into your hallway. But he doesn’t make himself known yet.
“Hey,” She smiles, fiddling with her fingers. “I, um, I just wanted to make sure you were okay. You didn’t seem like yourself when you left, and… well, you weren’t answering any of my texts.”
An electric shock shoots right through his body. That’s Molly.
“Oh, shit. I’m so sorry!” Checking your phone hadn’t even been a thought in your head. But you can’t really blame yourself; you were clearly distracted.
“It’s okay, I just wanted to make sure everything was alright.”
Immediately, he spins around, darting back into your bedroom. And apparently, his feet aren’t so light when he moves this time.
Frowning, Molly leans to the side, hearing the small noise. “Is… someone here?”
“What? No.” You answer too quickly, it’s obvious. But you heard Dave’s movement, too. What the hell is he doing back there?
Molly grins, raising a brow. “If you wanted to go home to fuck Anthony, you could’ve just said so.”
“Oh my god, no. No. It’s definitely not Anthony.” Fuck, I should have worded that differently.
“So someone is here?”
Yeah, your fucking dad.
“No, no one is here.” Now, Molly’s shifting her weight and crossing her arms, giving you a disbelieving stare. And that’s when she notices your shirt.
“Since when did you start wearing marine shirts?”
Your face runs white-hot, eyes darting down to your shirt. Fuck. “W-What?”
“That marine shirt.” She gestures to you, staring right at it. “It’s old too…” Leaning in, she squints. “Nineteen ninety-three?”
“Oh, um, I… I just thrifted it.” Happy with your response, you nod, looking back up at your friend. “Yeah.”
Honestly, you’re not doing a very good job at hiding this from her; the guilt is written all over your face, and she can see it. Thing is, she doesn’t know it’s guilt, just yet.
“Oh my god!”
“What?! What?!” You’re so jumpy it’s starting to get on your nerves. Calm down.
“That’s the year my dad finished boot camp!” Now, your eyes are as wide as saucers. “Do you think that could be his?”
“What the hell? No! I mean, pfft, why would it be his?”
Again, Molly eyes you, taken aback by your jittery response. “I don’t know, he could’ve donated it or something.”
“Look,” Releasing a nervous breath, you brush some of your hair back with both hands. “I’m fine, Goof, okay? I promise.”
She keeps her brow raised. “I don’t know… something’s going on.”
“I’m fine.”
Molly knows you’re a grown woman, and she knows you can take care of yourself. If anything, you’re the caregiver in your relationship. You’re older, you’re more responsible, and you could probably have a nice night without her in your hair.
“Okay,” She finally gives in, nodding. “I’m sorry, I just wanted to check.”
Offering a soft smile, you step forward, holding out your arms. Molly mirrors you, happy to receive your hug.
“Thank you for checking on me, babe.” She holds you tightly; you have no idea how much you mean to her. “I love you. I’ll talk to you in the morning, okay?”
The hallway in your apartment is so short that even from behind the bedroom door, Dave can hear what you’re saying. Internally, it warms his heart. He knew the two of you were close, but he never knew you spoke to each other like that.
Shortly afterwards, you’re closing the door and locking it for the night. But Dave doesn’t come out, continuing to hide until he’s given the all-clear.
“Dave?” He doesn’t answer, not until you walk into your bedroom. “Jesus.” Your entire body jumps, now seeing him in the corner of your room.
“Is she gone?”
“Yes,” Comes your quick sigh and roll of your eyes. “She was just checking on me.”
Stepping forward, he smiles, reaching for your hips. Glancing down at you, he says, “I didn’t know you said that to each other.”
“What?”
“I love you.”
Shrugging, you return his grin. “Well, yeah. She’s my best friend.”
For a split second, the thought crosses Dave’s mind that the two of you shouldn't be doing this. He knows how much is at risk. But he shoves it away, pulling you into his chest. He needs you.
“I love you.” He expresses, kissing the top of your head.
Smiling, you wrap your arms around his midsection, releasing a dreamy breath. “I love you, too.” You honestly don’t think you’ll ever get tired of saying it, not to him. But what does this mean for the two of you? David has other questions.
“How are you feeling?” It’s as if he’s compelled to ask. Now that the two of you have done this, have said this, it’s all so real now.
“It’s… a little hard, weird, keeping something like this from her.”
He had hope in his heart but now… your words are guilting him. He doesn’t want to hurt anyone in this, let alone his daughter and you.
“Come here,” That deep voice insists, bringing you over to the bed.
Situating himself in the middle, he pulls you into his lap. It’s almost too easy, getting you onto him, straddling his legs until you’re pressed against his chest.
“I know it’s… strange.” He says, trying to be understanding. His hands stroke your sides, fingers finding the skin beneath the shirt you’re wearing. “Do you… should we not…”
“No,” Leaning in, you shake your head frantically. “Nonono, I want this. I want you.”
Sliding your hands up, they rest gently on either side of his neck, eyes flickering between his own. Rising to his cheeks, you bring him in, resting his forehead on yours. “Do you not want this?”
The deep breath he takes worries you, retracting your hands. But he grabs them mid-movement.
“It scares me, how much I want this.” Before you realize what he’s doing, his hand is on the back of your neck, bringing you in for another kiss. “I don’t say these kinds of things to just anyone.”
Grinning against his lips, you hum curiously. “What kinds of things?”
All you get is a smirk, the short remark of don’t be sassy, and another quick kiss. And then he’s picking you up from his lap, placing you on the bed so he can stride into your bathroom.
Now this, this is more like it. Almost naturally, David strips, feet leading him into your bathroom. There’s no stiffness to him, no uncertain feeling stirring inside either of you. The situation feels normal, normal and calm and honestly, everything he’s ever hoped for in a relationship. Around Carol, he always felt subconscious; it was rare for her to see him completely naked, especially when they weren’t in bed. Her comments were seemingly never-ending and always judgemental and just… mean. It was like she could never say anything positive to him. But the second he’s out of the shower, you’re already speaking words of admiration into existence, the outward and unexpected affection prompting a soft, rosy glow to color his cheeks.
Dave is very clearly a shower, not a grower. And as soon as he’s in your view, he can see your eyes move. Truthfully, it flatters him. He can’t remember the last time a woman was so interested in him.
“Baby,” You coo quietly, walking over to where he stands. “You’re so handsome…”
Lifting your hand, he assumes you’re bringing him in for a kiss. But he’s wrong. All that hand does is rest on his chest, the other falling to the space between his legs.
Leaning in, you kiss his cheek, whispering, “You know how sexy you are to me?”
With his face heating up, he pulls you into him, keeping you against his body when he moves to the bed. Giggling, you settle on his lap, pressing your lips to his cheek once again.
“It’s cute, seeing you all shy.”
“I’m, I’m not… shy.” Looking away, the corners of his lips quirk up just a bit.
Your own tiny smile meets his again, David’s eyes closing with his arms wrapping around your midsection. He’s damp from the shower, your naked skin sticking to his while you cuddle him. Tiny kisses all over his face make him laugh, or dare you say giggle.
For the first time in what feels like forever, David is happy again. He feels attractive, wanted, loved. How the hell did he find all of this with you?
“You’re beautiful, David.” And then he sighs, a large palm sliding down the expanse of your hair. “You don’t ever have to be shy around me, baby.”
Tumblr media
He knows you can’t feel it, not really. You’re still asleep, snuggled up in his arms. If you were awake, he knows you’d feel his small kisses, the gentle press of his lips along your shoulder and neck.
As soon as his alarm went off, he stopped it, hoping the shrill noise didn’t wake you. And it didn’t, allowing him to hold you for that much longer. If you did wake up, he has no doubt that you’d let him hold you, but both of you being awake means the day would have to start. It means that he’d have to leave for work, and you for school, and right now, he doesn’t want to do that. He wants to stay in this lull, in this space without time.
After spending a handful of nights with you now, he knows you’re a pretty heavy sleeper. So he doesn’t hesitate when he brushes your hair to the side, when he intertwines his legs with your own. But he jumps slightly when he feels you move, sleepily reciprocating, snuggling your legs against his. Dreamily, you sigh, and it fills his heart with an indescribable amount of joy.
Before he’s late, he decides to get up, slowly sliding out of bed. He’s quiet as he moves, getting dressed and freshening up in your bathroom. Being that it’s the weekend, he doesn’t really have anywhere to be, but he knows he should go home. He doesn’t want Carol feeding the girls some bullshit about why he’s not there.
“Shit,” He hisses, fumbling with his now-buzzing phone. Quickly stumbling into your hallway, he closes the door, not wanting you to hear this call. “Hello?” Dave whispers, treading lightly into your living room.
“Hey, you free today?”
“I don’t know, maybe. Why?”
“We need to talk.”
“I don’t know if I have time to talk to the guy that ratted me out to my fucking wife.” He snaps, tying the strings of his sweatpants.
“Dave, that wasn’t my intention, and you know it.” Resnik returns, clearly annoyed with Dave’s aggression. “I didn’t know where you were, and you weren’t answering me.”
“Don’t ever fucking call Carol again. She wouldn’t have known where I was anyways.”
“Well, where were you?”
“None of your business. What do you want?”
Scoffing, Resnik rolls his eyes. “We need to talk about our current client. Just me and you.”
“Where?”
“There’s a cafe about fifteen minutes from your house if you can make it.”
“What time?” Lifting his arm, he lowers it quickly, glancing at his wrist.
“Noon?”
Right now, it’s eight o’clock. He can swing that. “Fine. Send me the address.”
With that, he hangs up, still frustrated with his colleague. He should probably get home as soon as he can, freshen up there and get some papers together for their meeting. Running a hand over his face, he sighs, not wanting to start this annoying day. But he knows he has to go, so he sneaks back into your room to say goodbye.
“Baby?” Smoothing a hand over your forehead, he kisses your temple, whispering to you. “Sweetheart,”
“Mm?” Scrunching your brows, you murmur sleepily to him.
“I’m leaving.”
“No,” It’s a small whine, your eyes barely opening as you reach out to him.
David grins, leaning into your arms. “I have to. But I’ll see you soon, okay?”
“When?”
“As soon as I can.” He promises, and you know he’ll stay true to it. “I’ll text when I’m home, sweetheart. I love you.”
His feet feel like cement when he finally leaves your apartment, his brain having to actively tell him left foot, right foot, left foot, right. He still does his best to not blow his cover, watching his surroundings while climbing into the car. With another look at your apartment, and another sigh, he starts it up, and leaves.
Damn, I’d live there if she let me.
For some reason, the driveway is empty. He doesn’t see Carol’s car when he walks in through the garage, either. Carol never works on the weekend, so… where the hell is she?
Inside, everything looks normal. It’s clean, clutter-free, dishes put away and countertops wiped off. He doesn’t hear the girls, doesn’t see them in the backyard or in the basement. Strange.
Tumblr media
With everyone gone, maybe he’ll finally get some alone time. He’s still in the basement, choosing to now wander into his office to collect a few papers for his meeting with Resnik. But after that… he’s pretty much stumped on what to do. Dave wasn’t the kind of person that liked to relax, he always had to do something. And he thinks, maybe with his current upbeat mood and surprisingly high energy, he can start working out.
It’s a warm day, so he figures he’ll workout in just his sweats. When he’s in the garage, he keeps the door closed, not exactly wanting to show himself off. But he’ll get there eventually.
After only a few reps of bicep curls, he’s starting to feel even better. His stamina is stronger than he thought it’d be, allowing him to do more than he originally planned. Push-ups, pull-ups, leg presses, and lunges are what he decides on, continuing to work himself for about an hour or so. But in the middle of his last set of pull-ups, Carol comes home. He doesn’t stop when the garage opens, though, he just tries to ignore her.
When she walks inside, she’s clearly surprised. Brows raised, she eyes him, having not seen him workout in more than a year. And honestly, she hasn’t seen this much of his skin in months.
“You’re looking nice.” She comments, the words immediately catching his attention. But still, he ignores her.
She’s probably just trying to start something.
Carol’s eyes travel down Dave’s chest, his stomach, and the small trail of hair leading down to his pelvis. And that’s when she sees them, the periwinkle boxers you bought him.
“When did you get those?” She asks, her tone laced with annoyance.
Now, David sighs, hopping down from the bar. “When did I get what?” He’s sweaty and out of breath, using the back of his hand to wipe his forehead.
Now looking at his wife, he realizes she’s holding a multitude of shopping bags. He briefly wonders why she went out in the first place, but is distracted when she waves a finger at him.
“Those… boxers.”
“Oh,” Looking down, he sees the small bit of light purple sticking out above his sweatpants. “My baby got me those.” It’s an easy answer, coming out naturally. But immediately shifts the mood in the air.
Carol’s frown is instantaneous, her scoff audible. But it just makes him smile.
“She’s going to get bored of you so quick, you know.”
All he does is shrug, remaining unphased. “She hasn’t lost interest yet.”
“Well, you feeling the need to workout just to keep her around says a lot.”
Now, he laughs. “Carol, I’m not doing this for her. I felt good today, I’ve been wanting to get in shape again.”
“Sure, just keep lying to yourself. You’ve never even had Calvin Klein boxers before, she obviously doesn’t know you.”
“She bought these for me because I don’t have any.” Dave corrects her, glaring from across the room. “Besides,” Shrugging, he glances down again. “Feels pretty good on my cock.”
This makes Carol fucking short circuit. Dave never uses that word; she finds it pretty crude, and always considered it a curse word.
“What did you just say?”
He’s pretty much done with this conversation, so he turns, making his way back into the house.
“I’m talking to you!”
“I don’t care.” He doesn’t even keep the door open for her.
Tumblr media
Obviously, you have to wash it, but you almost don’t want to. It still smells like him. Regardless, you shovel your clothes into the washer, turning it on before going about your other tasks. Cleaning up after David left makes you sadder than you’d imagined, but you know you’re just being dramatic. You’ll see him again soon… hopefully. Realistically, you’re not sure when you will.
Glancing down at your phone, you consider sending him a text. You don’t want to bother him, but… you’re his baby. He loves you. He’ll be happy to hear from you.
When his phone rings, he immediately assumes it to be you, your little message making him grin. And the thoughts that float into his head are exactly what you’d imagined. That’s my baby.
Tumblr media
Grinning, you shake your head. Thinking back to the previous night, you squirm in your seat, feeling the slight burn between your legs that he left. God, you’d do anything to experience that again.
Tumblr media
Already, he wants to make his way back to you. He really meant it, he’d live there if you let him. Maybe after he sees Resnik he can stop by again, if you’re not too busy. Even if you are, he doubts you wouldn’t ditch your plans for him.
After a quick shower, he’s picking up his phone again, but he doesn’t even get to open the screen before dropping it.
“Jesus Christ!” Busting into his room, Carol crosses her arms, glaring at him. “What the fuck, Carol?!”
“We need to talk.” She states, eyeing him once again.
Before he can reach for a towel, she gets a pretty good look at him. Honestly, she came in so quick so she could see him like this; she’s missed him. But she notices something… different.
“When was the last time you fucking shaved, David?!” She sounds disgusted, staring wide-eyed at his longer pubic care.
Wrapping a towel around his face, he groans. “Why the fuck do you care?”
“It’s gross, David.”
“Not to her.” Again, that shit-eating grin crosses his face. Looking up into the mirror, he lifts a hand, stroking his chin. “Likes my stubble, too. Think I’ll start growing it out again.”
“You’re such an antagonizing piece of shit.”
“Me?! I’m not the one barging into people’s rooms!” Voice booming, he takes a step towards her. “Why are you even here?!”
She disguises her flustered breath with an outright scoff, rolling her eyes. “I need you to get some chores done.”
“Fine.” Turning, he grabs some clothes. “Make a list and I’ll do it.” Anything to get her out of his hair.
“Are you… is that a marine shirt?”
“Yeah, so what?”
“You haven’t worn your marine stuff in years.” She says it somberly, like she’s missing out on his life. And she’s right.
“She found out I was a marine the other week.” He explains, sliding the shirt over his head. “She makes me feel proud of it again.”
Carol never saw his service as something to be proud of. She came from a military family, and she always saw it as something you should just… do. Funny she never served, though.
“I guess you really like her then, huh?” She sighs, eyes falling.
“Honestly, Carol,” Finishing pulling up his pants, he takes one last look in the mirror before fixing his gaze on his soon-to-be ex. “I love her.”
His words are both shocking and heartbreaking; she can’t believe he just said that, especially to her. When she doesn’t respond, Dave nods to her hand.
“It’s time you take off your ring.”
“I, I don’t think…”
“I don’t care.” Walking over to his door, he opens it. “Get out, and take it off.”
Tumblr media
“What are we looking at?”
“Another trip, two weeks this time. Overseas.”
“Usual.” Dave shrugs, having expected this.
“Some slip ups were made, we need to play cleaning crew.”
“God dammit.” Dave rubs a hand over his face, groaning quietly. The trip, he expected, not the task. “Who fucked up?”
“The names don’t really matter, we know where they’re at. A few bankers, two attorneys.”
Pondering his next words, David tilts his head to each side, thinking. But while he’s thinking, the bell above the cafe’s door dings, prompting his attention. And just like that, every ounce of his attention is given to you.
For just a moment, you stop in your tracks. Why is he here? But then you see the man across from him and assume it must be his colleague. Your relationship is very clearly a secret, and you intend to keep it that way. So, you take your surprise in stride, moving to find a booth further away.
The cafe is fairly empty, considering it’s a weekend. You’d packed up your school supplies, intending to have a quiet study day. But now that you know he’s here, there’s no way you’ll be able to focus. And he’s feeling the exact same.
“Dave?”
“What?” He says, redirecting his eyes back to Resnik. “What?”
“We need to leave soon.”
“Like, the cafe?”
“For the trip.” Squinting his eyes, he shakes his head. “What are you looking at?”
“No, I -” He tries to stop him, but it’s too late. Resnik is already turning around. “Holy shit, Dave,” Spinning his head back toward his colleague, Dave can very clearly see his delighted expression. “That’s the girl I told you about!”
“What?”
“On Only Fans!” He whispers, almost giddy. Turning back in your direction, you’re now aware of their collective gaze, shooting them a grin. “I’m gonna go talk to her.”
“No, Resnik!” But he’s already standing and making his way over to you.
Absolutely shocked, you raise your brows, watching him approach. Why is he coming over to you? Why not David? Briefly, your eyes flash to him, and he’s shrugging at you, a frantic look on his face.
“Hi,” This random man says, now at your table’s edge.
Looking up, you meet his eyeline, unsure of what to say. Why is he here?
“Hi…”
“I, um…” Sighing with a grin, he takes a seat across from where you’re sat. “I’m a big fan of your work.”
“Excuse me?”
Placing a hand on his chest, he leans in. “I’m a subscriber.”
Raising your brows, you feel slightly… offended. This is how someone who’s seen you naked approaches you?
“To your Only Fans.” He clarifies further, dropping his voice an octave.
“Um… thanks.”
“I was wondering, um…”
The entire time this man is talking, your eyes are flickering from his to David’s. And Dave is watching intently, fingers curling into fists. He can tell you’re uncomfortable.
“Could I get a picture?”
“A what?”
“A picture. You know, of…” And then his eyes trail down to your chest, quickly flicking back to your own.
At this, your jaw drops. “Are you fucking kidding me?”
Clearly, he didn’t expect this reaction. Raising his brows, he sits up, leaning back from you. “I, um…”
“That’s what you choose to say?”
Dave’s voice prompts both sets of eyes to snap up to him, languidly stepping over to your table.
“Get outta here, man.”
Twisting your face up at this random man, you scoff, quickly scooping your school supplies into your bag. “Go fuck yourself.”
You don’t want to avoid him, but you feel like you have to. And for some reason, Dave takes offense to this. Is she mad at me?
Following you into the parking lot, he calls after you, hoping to talk. Surprisingly, he watches you walk over to his Tesla, standing by the side door. Is she… waiting for me?
“Baby, I’m sorry about him. He can be a fucking prick.”
“Just please get in the car.”
“What?”
“Open it!”
Slowly, he does, unsure of what’s going on. Are you mad? Upset? Do you want him to drive you home? But as soon as the back door is open, you’re grabbing onto his shirt and shoving him towards the door.
“Baby, what -”
“I’m so glad you came over to me.” Sighing, you slide in beside him, closing the door. Easily, you climb onto his lap, and he welcomes it.
“Yeah?”
“Yeah.” Nodding, your hands find his face, dipping down to kiss him. “I missed you, I feel like a fucking kid but I do. Daddy, I missed you.”
“Oh fuck,” He sighs, leaning up toward your lips. “Baby…”
Dave’s hands find your hips, quickly sliding down to your ass. You’re wearing an oversized sweatshirt and yoga pants, your hair tied up in a messy ponytail. But he swears you’ve never looked more adorable.
“I can’t believe I ran into you there.” Breaking away from his lips, you lower yourself, pressing frenzied kisses to his throat.
“Why were you there, anyway? Having yourself a little study day?”
“I tried to.”
“Hm,” David hums, smiling. “My smart girl.”
Hearing his gentle praise makes your body light up with excitement. Already, your fingers are trailing down his chest, pulling gently at his waistband. He’s in a pair of jeans and a long sleeve t-shirt, a simple outfit and one you’ve never before seen him in.
“You want me?” He asks lowly, the corners of his lips quirking up into a grin.
“Yes, please.” Nodding, you press your face into the slope of his neck, leaning on him. Glancing down, you watch yourself undo the belt and button of his pants, sliding down the zipper to be met with that familiar, purple color.
“Baby! You’re wearing them?!” Your head snaps up, eyes quickly finding his. It only makes his grin widen, seeing the elatement coloring your face.
“Of course, I am.” One of his hands then leaves your body, brushing some of your hair aside to cup your cheek. “I always want to be reminded of you.”
“Baby…”
“Daddy wants you, sweetheart.” Hearing David refer to himself like that makes you audibly moan. “Can’t you feel me?”
But you don’t answer him, you just work on shimmying down your pants. Crawling back over his lap, he lifts his hips, sliding his jeans down until they’re around his ankles.
“Fuck me, honey.” He urges you, hands finding the bare skin of your ass. Squeezing you tightly, he gives you a small spank, watching you yelp. “Come on.”
“Baby…” Lifting yourself slightly, you join him in glancing down, watching while the two of you connect. But just as you begin to sink down, some kind of movement catches David’s eye. It’s Resnik.
“Shit.”

Voyager rewatch s3 ep1: Basics pt 2
I don't think I've seen this one in a long time, maybe even since it first aired, because it's actually a bit different, and slightly better, than I remembered.
I did remember lots of redshirts getting killed off, and aside from wondering how they'll have any crew left when they keep dying, it was so much worse now that I've actually been paying attention to the background crewmembers and recognizing them and learning their names and the actors who played them this time around. I was absolutely biting my nails when I realized they were setting up Hogan to be the next to die- he's been in most of last season's eps, and I really did like him, and his death was sooo overtly telegraphed, like oh my god, don't be that stupid you guys! Don't kill him off that stupidly! But they did. At least everyone was properly horrified and saddened by his death, but yeah, Neelix, you should blame yourself! Who the heck tells someone to stay and pick up bones at the mouth of a cave on an alien planet where there could be unknown creatures?! Did he not think, hmm, I wonder what killed the person whose bones are sitting at the mouth of a deep dark cave?? Hogan sure did, but he listened to Neelix, and now he got eaten by a giant worm dragon. Great work Neelix, that'll boost morale! (I want to not hate Neelix, really I do, he wasn't trying to get him killed, but oh my god, this stupid writing is not helping me like him at all.)
I also remembered the badly thought out aliens on the planet. Even though it's not Earth, and they're not supposed to be cave people technically, I still hate whenever sci-fi or fantasy shows try to depict 'primitive' cultures. They always end up being violent and superstitious and having grunty 'uga buga oo' type language, and it feels too close to old timey racist caricatures of actual tribal societies for comfort. Having them kidnap Kes, the beautiful blonde girl, presumably because their men find her more attractive than their own women(!!) and must have her for themselves, is just another awful, racist, sexist trope that upholds western colonialist beauty standards, which we should not have been doing anymore, even in the 90s.
Aside from that, seeing the crew try to make do on the planet without their technology was interesting. I loved that we found out that Tuvok taught archery and made a bow, plus he looked super cool with his archery gear. Using the crew's hair to kindle fires was a nice touch- all those women crewmembers with their long hair that men usually consider frivolous just saved them all, ha!
And of course, Tom's shuttle survived, and he gets to do some major hero stuff- he's repairing the heavily damaged shuttle, while fending off Kazon attacks, and actually manages to destroy a Kazon scout ship that's twice the size of his little damaged shuttle! And he gets to the Talaxians, convinces them to come help, and comes up with a plan to retake Voyager, on the fly! And it works! Chakotay better be nice to him from now on, because he totally saved everyone's ass here, with only the Doctor and Suder for help.
Suder was the character with the arc that really surprised me here. I always remembered disliking his character, probably because Meld was such a bad episode, but actually, they gave him some very thoughtful material here. Seeing how desperately Suder actually does want to get better, and how close he is to finally overcoming his desire to kill people, and get close to a normal life, only to realize that he's going to have to kill people again to survive, is truly heartbreaking. Brad Dourif gives a very fine performance as we see Suder struggle with knowing that the only way for him to help his crew will be to lose himself again, and everthing he worked so hard for. The Doctor's attitude towards him feels rather insensitive and dismissive considering the utter devastation the situation presents to Suder, but in a way, it just adds to the tragedy. At the very least, the Doctor gives him some actual positive words of encouragement and belief in him when he leaves him with the task of carrying out Tom's plan. Suder's final scene is almost Shakespearean in it's sense of inescapeable tragic fate. He has to kill all the Kazon to save the ship, and it kills him inside, and he has to die while redeeming himself with his first and final act of selflessness. It's an unexpectedly moving scene.
Suder's sacrifice enables Tom and the Talaxians to retake Voyager, Seska dies from the system overload, and the surviving Kazon flee. (They took some escape pods though, which I'm sure they never return- how do they still have any left later??) They pick up the rest of the crew, and Tom tells them how Suder saved the day before he died. (And hopefully someone tells Chakotay that Seska's baby is actually Cullah's! Which honestly, thank goodness, because you know they'd have been chasing that kid around the quadrant for another season at least, and then what would they do with it? There's already one baby on the ship to have baby plots with, we don't really need another one, nor do we need all the Chakotay angst that would have gone with it. Thank heaven they tossed that plot thread out the window!)
Overall, this one was actually better than I remembered. I wasn't fond of the 'primitive' aliens, or the gratuitous redshirt deaths, but Suder's death was a meaningful conclusion to his story arc, and Seska's death brought her arc to a fitting end as well, with her hubris in thinking she could outsmart the Federation crew bringing about her downfall. Though tbh, it wasn't even the whole crew who outsmarted her, it was literally just Tom Paris. Lol get wrecked Seska! But actually, her death scene was pretty sad, how she tried to get to her baby- even though she's a terrible person, she's still a new mom who won't get to see her kid grow up. And they even gave Cullah a small moment of humanity when he was genuinely upset by her death. (Now let's be done with the Kazon forever please!)
Tl;dr: a fast paced adventure story that brought some of last season's story arcs to a fitting conclusion, with an unexpectedly heartbreaking turn from Brad Dourif as Suder.

I can't stop thinking about the white/suburban American persecution complex today. I swear to God all these people live their lives paranoid that they'll be shot, stabbed, or robbed just by existing near poverty or foreigners. I just keep cycling through various personal incidents in my head like...
We wanted to try a new Chinese restaurant that just opened up. It happened to be on the edge of a highway in a strip mall that was entirely out of business. The entire time my friends are complaining about feeling unsafe and about how we're going to get shot, even though there's never been reported crime in the area.
I think about how multiple instances in high school I wanted to go into Chicago for various events only to be shot down because my parents were terrified of the city as if you go anywhere in Chicago and you'll be shot.
I think about not to long ago how a girl was killed at UGA by an immigrant and suddenly every white girl at my school a whole 5 hour drive away is quaking in their boots about not feeling safe or trusting anyone, and calling for anti immigration bills.
I think about how I travelled to Japan alone in 2019, staying in group hostels and backpacking around everywhere I went. I met a wonderful middle aged woman at a hostel and we went to a few major landmarks in Tokyo together. And how almost everyone I've told about that experience mentions how dangerous it was and how brave I am, and how they could never because they'd get raped or stolen from.
And there's so many more instances and it's like... How many of these people have actually experienced harm or threats to their lives or been stolen from? Why are you so convinced that the world is out to cause you specifically harm? Why are you so terrified of other people?

Decided to translate stuff about Purge and Pudding from the UGA diaries kldsjfios
(i know that everyone most likely already know their content but i just haven’t seen the full translation of these posts yet, apologize in advance i have no idea how to properly format text posts)
Purge
Hmmm...
I was putting up together the material for the guidebook and publicity.
It is not the NG version, but there are many parts that are not fully depicted in the game.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
【Paji/Purge Leader of the Rhythm Rogues (Odori Dan・ Dancho)】
※Purge – to purge, to exclude impure things
Gender: Male
Age: 18
Blood type: A
Traits: Intelligent mind, immature spirit, extraordinary hubris.
Background: At a young age, he achieved success in the field of radio mechanics, a good social status and financial power. "My life's mission is to lead the "foolish and unhappy people of the galaxy, who are filled with daily troubles and trivial hesitations," to a paradise by my excellent hands. "
Appearance: A bit out of the ordinary and exaggerated. (On the contrary, it brings out his mischievousness). His eyes show his arousal.
Movements: Intimidating and affectionate. Narcissistic. (He is artificially powered up by dance energy extracted from people who were kidnapped and gathered by the monstrous robots.)
Hobbies: Delusions.
Personality: Extraordinarily strong self-esteem. Smug, single-minded, and highly egocentric. Grandiose.
Motto: I am amazing. (self-produce your own visuals and image)
Goal: "To make everyone in the galaxy dance." = "To create a perfect paradise with my own hands."
Relationships:
Peace – wants to harness his singing energy.
People – thinks they are "stupid and unhappy".
Protagonist – knows about her, wants to use her dance energy.
Pudding – doesn’t really care about her.
Pine – doesn’t know much about her, not really dealing with the space police.
Jaguar – abducts him with the entire Pirate Broadcasting Station vessel and uses it for the initial stage of "sending out dancing monstrous radio waves". Also brainwashes Jaguar to use him to lead the Rhythm Rogues.
Shadow – an ideal subordinate for him, the moment he says "Shadow★", he feels a little sexual arousal.
Robo – created them more like his children than his minions.
--------------------------------------------------------------------
We are asking the related parties to make the other characters available on the official website.
Pudding
Well, this is something I compiled as a material for publicity and the guidebook, even though you don't need to know anything at all to play the game (although that would be good if you know)
--------------------------------------------------------------------
【Purin/Pudding Channel 42 Reporter (Chaneru 42・ Ripota)】
Gender: Female
Birthday: 2450.09.05
Age: 19
Height: 157 cm
Basic size: B80/W56/H82 (all estimated)
Blood type: AB
Special skill: Skipping (taken from the resume)
Background: Five years ago, she changed her career from idol to reporter. Recently, the rival relationship with the protagonist has been in the spotlight. She started to play the guitar not a while ago.
Appearance: Cute with a hint of dignity.
Movements: Mainly cute, sometimes punkish and intense.
Hobbies: Music, dancing, mid-size starbikes.
Motto: "Aspiration is detonated by pride."
Personality: Prideful and competitive. She has a strong sense of rivalry with anyone she thinks is (or may be) better than her. At first glance, she seems to be a broken person, but in fact, all of her actions are based on her own pride, and she is always full of initiative. (Her pride (which is by no means a disorder) is often an obstacle to her honest expression of her feelings.)
Relationships:
Protagonist – still thinks of her as a rival, but at the same time, greatly admires her abilities. People around them sometimes wonder if they have become good friends. Although they sometimes become friends, Pudding has not changed his position toward her as just a colleague. → In the previous report, she ended up doing the "Channel 5" pose, which is one of the biggest regrets of her life.
Jaguar – really likes his behavior and appearance. However, she has not developed her feelings further because there’s not so much information available.
Peace – likes his singing and dancing, but she is careful not to be unconditionally impressed. → Anybody who has "immense influence over the people" is a competitor for her.
Purge – not really an enemy to her, just a "competitor" in a larger sense.
Pine – doesn’t like her much. She can't understand Pine's behavior style, which only follows the rules (abandoning her own independence). Nor does she intend to understand it.

hi, thank you for your work in trying to help keep gay awakening updated! Question: is there any way for someone to individually remove specific support options from the mod? I’d like to use it but would very particularly like to remove the chrom/Frederick option for my own playthroughs because Frederick is canonically stated to have helped raise chrom and lissa according to the drama cd so it makes me uncomfortable :’) if it’s not something that can be done I understand, but if it is id very much love to know how to do that!
Hey there, sorry to hear that Chrom/Frederick makes you uncomfortable! This is the first time I'm hearing about this part of the drama CD-I should really listen to/read that one of these days.
It's actually really easy to add/remove support options nowadays, you just need a program called Paragon and a full dump of the vanilla game's romfs (what the folder containing all of the game's files is called). I'll include instructions here below the readme. If you get stuck or can't get things working, feel free to join the discord and we'll be able to help you more directly!
Step 1 - Get a clean dump of your game's romfs.
Citra users: Right click on your game and select 'Dump RomFs'
Luma users: Launch your 3ds while holding Start to run GodMode9. (note: this guide was written for version v2.1.0 of GodMode9 and any older or newer releases may have different wording) - Physical: Select 'GAMECART' - Digital: Select 'SYSNAND SD' and go into 'title' folder. Open the '00040000' folder to find your games and select FEA's title ID. NA: 000A0500 EU: 0009F100 - Open 'NCSD image options…' and select 'Mount image to drive' then press A. Open 'content0.game' and press R+A while hovering over the romfs folder. Copy to 0:/gm9/out. This is the filepath you'll use to find it when you move to your computer.
Step 2 - Now that you have your romfs dump, you're going to download Paragon and start a new project. The project name can be whatever you want it to be, but make sure you select the right language and game. Your Extracted RomFS Directory is the vanilla romfs dump that you just grabbed, and the Output Directory is going to be UGA's romfs folder. The filepaths will be different when using Luma or if you move anything around for ease of access, but it should look something like this when you're done:
Tumblr media
Step 3 - To remove the support options itself, you're going to open the Characters module in the section labeled "Core Data". From there, go to Chrom's name and switch to his Supports tab. Scroll down until you see Frederick's name, and change the Support Type from Fast to Non-romantic. Do the same thing for Frederick- select him and look for Chrom in his support tab to change the Support Type from Fast to Non-romantic. If the support type doesn't match for both characters, they won't be able to gain any support ranks at all, so make sure you change both of them!
Step 4 - The previous step removed the ability for them to support, but you probably want to remove the S support from the support log as well. In the main Paragon menu, you're going to look at the left side where it says "Nodes" and look for the option called "Support / Reliance List". From there, go to both characters and delete their last support (the one that says Support Level 4, with 0 as the Support Number). Make sure to select the correct Delete button as shown in this image:
Tumblr media
For Frederick, you're also going to want to delete his PC supports with Lucina, so scroll down and delete all three of the Fredrick x Lucina posts that have the Support Type set to Parent/Child. Now, make sure you also go to select the first support in these lists (the first support with male robin) and select the Regenerate IDs option furthest to the right (not the one on top!). The automatic 0 it gives you is fine, this step is to ensure the game reads the edited support log correctly- failing to regenerate IDs may cause issues. Now that that's been done you're finished in Paragon, so you can go to File > Save to save those changes!
Step 5 - The last thing you can do (if you so desire) is delete the actual supports themselves. You can find the support files in romfs/m/E, where you'll see a ton of files named with Japanese characters. Chrom and Frederick's modded supports are named "クロム_フレデリク.bin.lz" while Lucina and Frederick's PC support is named "マルス_フレデリク_親子.bin.lz"
Step 6 - After that, just make sure your romfs folder is where your mods go and you should be set! You should be able to see the changes both in-game and in the support log now.
Lastly, here are a few things you should know when it comes to updates:
The two files you've edited are the static.bin.lz (this controls many things in the game, including support options) and the RelianceList.bin.lz (the support log)
Unless the support options in the latest update change, or there's a bugfix regarding support gain, you will not need to replace your static.bin.lz! Just keep the one you edited when you update, everything will work perfectly fine. I don't expect the static.bin.lz to be updated frequently, but I will be tweaking support options for the Spotpass characters later down the line so you will have to redo Step 3 when that happens.
The support log for UGA has not been finished yet, so the RelianceList.bin.lz WILL get updated in the next major release, so you will have to replace your own edited one. When that happens, you'll have to repeat Step 4 again, but that doesn't take too long so hopefully that's not an issue! When I finish the support log, you won't have to do this ever again.
And that should be everything! I hope it wasn't too confusing- after you set up Paragon for the first time it's honestly really easy to make changes to the game. It's a super friendly program, and you can do all sorts of silly things with it. Like I said though, you're welcome to join the discord for more direct help from us! We're friendly, I promise :P

i just deleted instagram. i want to get off of the internet. i want to use my time for something that makes me happier. i just am unsure if i am able to. i wish that i wrote here more in the past couple of days, but recently i've felt drained - i havent been busy - i just FEEL drained. today was... interesting? saw H. went well. but ive had a serious case of dread concerning the upcoming return to school. i do not anticipate it. im failing public speaking; and theres little i can do to fix that. i pulled my math grade up, im proud of myself. yesterday felt like a good day at work.
this whole president's day break has been weird. spent all of it in dahlonega. visited colleges (UGA n UNG), went on a hike - which i enjoyed. the UGA tour thoroughly impressed me, sucks that i wont be able to go probably. UNG was extremely underwhelming.
i wish i got to spend more of that break with myself instead of fulfilling other peoples prerogatives - oh well. i need to schedule the SAT. i have work tomorrow. i have a weird condition (rash?). its on my arm, its not a visible rash, feels like a burn, very tender to the touch. i put some liquid benadryl on it, i woke up with it. i also have an ulcer, but last week i had three, so i cant complain. reminds me of a john prine lyric. listened to jason isbell recently - "southeastern" - new favorite album of all time. full stop. period.
i dont feel like i really got anything out of me, which is usually how i feel when i write these. brain is still just as crowded as before.

Rez on Dengeki Playstation Vol.182 (Videogame Magazine) (27/07/2001)

PS2  STG
Autumn Forecast:
SEGA/UGA underpriced MC2 (KB number not yet added)
A new dimension game experience created by sound and light!
Sega's first PS2 title has finally been revealed. We take a closer look at the contents, along with an in-depth interview with producer Tetsuya Mizuguchi.
Interview - Tetsuya Mizuguchi
Aiming for a "good-natured game"
<I wanted to express the pleasure of manipulating music and images in the game>
At the PS2 software presentation "PlayStation Party" held on June 27, Mr. Mizuguchi, who demonstrated while actually playing "Rez", said, "The pleasure of musicians and DJs may be like this. I thought." That feeling is exactly what Mr. Mizuguchi tried to express in this game. "I went to Switzerland and witnessed a music festival attended by 400,000 young people. When people gathered to listen to house or techno music, they danced crazy. I was amazed. They are also very particular about the lighting, and when they see it moving in sync with the music, what if I could become the player and be able to control the sound and light? I thought it might make you feel better."
<Because it is simple, you can forget the time and be immersed>
Mr. Mizuguchi chose 3D shooting as the game system to experience this feeling. “I wanted something that could be played physiologically without thinking, with simple and clear rules, and something that everyone could play intuitively. I wonder if I was just thinking, "Is it too difficult?" "A long time ago, there was a 3D shooter called "Star Wars" in Atari's game. It was a simple screen composed only of wireframes, but I remember being so absorbed in it that I lost track of time. That kind of feeling. I also want to evoke the feeling of excitement.I think the excitement I felt 20 years ago is still valid today.”
At the start of the project, Mr. Mizuguchi said to the staff, "If there was a shooting game in which the music is composed when you successfully defeat the enemy, and the visual effects construct the world at the same time, it would be great. Don't you think it's good?" and the development of the game seems to have started.
“In conventional shooting games, all you have to do is think about how to make the enemies appear, but this game has a different trick that uses sound and light to create a pleasant feeling. It took an enormous amount of time to complete the program.”
<People who think they have no sense of rhythm should develop a sense of rhythm>
There have been many games in the past that use sound to create a pleasant feeling. But how are they different from the so-called rhythm games of the past?
I think that the traditional rhythm game was "forced". There is a certain point at which you have to play a note at the right time or you will make a mistake. Of course there is such a fun aspect, but in "Rez," there is no "compulsion," so you can play as you like, which is liberating. If you defeat the Enemy with your own timing, various sounds will come out and become music. I think there are quite a lot of people who shy away from playing sound games because they think they don't have a sense of rhythm." I think there are a lot of people who think they don't have a sense of rhythm and shy away from playing music games. However, this is a game that I want those people to try. First of all, I can tell them to try it without worrying about their sense of rhythm. Besides, the game is also fun to play as a shooting game. But when you get good at the game, you will realize that you have a good sense of rhythm. In fact, it was the same for me.
↑ Mr. Mizuguchi playing "Rez" at "PlayStation 2 Party". Mr. Shigeo Maruyama, the chairman of SCE, received a lot of attention.
3D shooter?
Basically, it's a 3D STG where you shoot the enemies that appear with lasers. However, according to the timing of the shot, the music playing in the background is further overlapped with the sound, and bright lights fly around the screen. A major feature of this game is the effective use of music and images.
(Page 165)
Pleasure created by simple operation
Hold down the missile launch button and move the cursor to lock on the enemy. Release the button to fire a laser that hits the enemy. The operation is very simple, so you can fully enjoy the STG-like pleasure of shooting.
Create your own "Rez"!
For example, if multiple enemies are destroyed individually, or if they are destroyed after being rocked together, the way sound and light are created will be different. How to shoot enemies and what kind of music and images to create. It's up to the player's preference.
Trance-like gaming experience
As you progress through the stages, enemies will appear continuously, so the sounds and lights that are generated will be dizzying. You'll feel a "high" that you've never experienced in a game before, with a brain-numbing intensity.
ABOUT TETSUYA MIZUGUCHI
Profile of Tetsuya Mizuguchi . Born in Otaru in 1965. Joined SEGA in 1990. Produced hit titles such as "Sega Rally Championship", "Sega Rally 2" (both arcade), and "Space Channel 5" (Dreamcast). In 2000, when Sega was spun off, he became the representative of United Game Artists.
↓ Mizuguchi's masterpiece
← "Sega Rally 2" (left) and "Space Channel 5" (bottom).
Finally, we asked them how they felt about entering the PS market. I have a very good image of PS users.I think they will thoroughly ignore anything boring, but if we do something interesting, I think they will respond very well to it. So I have high hopes that they will be into "Rez".
*The full text of the interview with Tetsuya Mizuguchi introduced here is available on Dengeki Online (URL http://dengekionline.com). Check it out if you want to know more about the world of "Rez"!

just finished my applications to UGA and KSU, now I just need to work on my essays for my Georgia Tech application. I love how each application costs money, and how it also costs money to send each of your transcripts to each school. This whole thing has set me back like $200 and I probably won't get accepted anywhere, and if I do I'll probably fuck it up like I always do. I havent brushed my hair or my teeth in 2 days and I all I really want to do is a bunch of opioids in bed in a dark room alone for the rest of my life. But I guess I can't do that because "people care about me" even though I've never felt so alone and purposeless and defeated. I feel so depressed and lost and like the future is shitting all over my balls and the past is holding me down sawing off my tits. But it's all good.

– TOKYO FM "Nippon Yūbin SUNDAY'S POST" (17 October 2021) –
Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media Tumblr media
[𝙏𝙧𝙖𝙣𝙨𝙘𝙧𝙞𝙥𝙩]
Uga: What did make you take the Nogizaka's audition?
Seira: My big brother has always been very fond of Nogizaka and he told me, "Why don't you give it a shot?" Then I felt like taking it.
Koyama: Did your big brother tell you like, "Go get someone's autograph!" when his little sister joined?
Seira: It's nothing like that! He got irritated after it was decided (that i made it). He was like, "My little sister will be a bother, won't she?" It was like as if he could no longer support (the group) with an unmixed feeling (LOL). Now he only supports me from a parental point of view.
Uga: I see! (LOL).
Uga: This time, we have Hayakawa-san here because you often write letters, right?
Seira: I write (letters) at milestones, I like to receive them, and I often write in response to people too.
Koyama: Is there any trigger that made you do that?
Seira: I have loved writing letters since I can remember. I wrote so many letters to my mother that she even set up a letter box in our house.
Koyama: Even now, do you still write letters to your mother?
Seira: I no longer write that many, but I do write to her on her birthday and when I give her presents.
Koyama: Your mother must have all the letters you have written to her up until now.
Seira: She said she keeps them in a big box.
Uga: Do you have a favorite letterhead, or envelope, or maybe postcard?
Seira: I like slightly retro postcards. If I find myself in a general store and get attracted to it, I would buy it even if I don't plan on writing. After buying, I would start planning what to write on it.
Koyama: You obviously receive fan letters as well. Do you read them all?
Seira: Yes, they are in the office. And I read them from end to end, even though there is a little time lag (since the letters were written).
Koyama: Is there any fan letter that left a lasting impression on you?
Seira: Nogizaka has a talk session (with fans). We're currently doing it online, but there was a time when I was told, "I want to work hard in job hunting, so please cheer me up!" by one of my fans. I told them, "Do your best!" and then they wrote me a letter, telling me that they found a job. I think it made me really happy in doing my work.
Koyama: So you sent a yell of encouragement, which cheered that person up and got them into the company of their dreams. That's great, a job that creates a turning point in someone's life!
Seira: For real, I'm incredibly happy!
Uga: Do you exchange letters with people you actually know?
Seira: Yes, with friends, family members, and also the members, and so on.
Uga: You meet them, but you go out of your way to write for them.
Seira: I do it on their birthdays, or at the time of my senior's graduation. Also one of my seniors, Ikuta Erika-san has been having a theater stage performance. And since I have been unable to visit her these days due to the corona outbreak, I wrote her a letter on the spot after (watching) the performance and handed it to the manager to deliver it to her.
Uga: That's a great idea, since it's impossible to meet and greet her at backstage now.
Seira: I really wanted to convey the emotion I felt right after watching the performance. It was like my brush ran fast.
Uga: I will copy you on that (LOL).
Koyama: Is the relationship between senior and junior members kind of rigid?
Seira: Basically, they treat me kindly. But after all, they also give me a lot of attention when it comes to important stuff. I really depend on them.
Uga: Say, Hayakawa-san, what's the most memorable letter you have ever received?
Seira: I once received a letter and a book together from my mother when I was 15 years old. And the letter said, "I think you are at the turning point between a child and an adult, so why don't you read this book to organize your feelings and cultivate your way of thinking?"
Koyama: What was the book?
Seira: It was a book called "Nishi no Majo ga Shinda" (The Witch of the West is Dead).
[The book has been adapted into a movie with the same title.]
[Next corner: Seira reads a letter she had written beforehand]
Seira: I wrote this to my grandma who lives in kyoto ... I'm getting embarrassed.
"To Grandma.
Recently, I often think of Grandma and the trips we used to take together. Whenever I feel a little down at work, or when I have a painful time, I remember the good times we used to have. I feel very much better when I remember the good times we had in the past.
The buffalo we rode on taketomi island, the sea grapes we ate at the Kokusai-dori Market, the corn we ate every year in the lavender fields of furano—Grandma's favorite place, the rafting and hot air ballooning, and the potato chips we ate on the ropeway. Our memories have no ending.
I heard from Mom that you have been feeling unwell lately. Are you alright? I have been missing you so much because of my work and the corona outbreak that it's very lonesome. I heard that your store has fewer customers than before because of the corona outbreak. I know it's a lot of hard work, and sometimes things continue to be difficult, but I am most happy when Grandma is healthy.
Take lots of rest when you can, rely on mom to take care of the store, take it easy and get well soon. when you get well and the corona outbreak settles down, let's take lots of trips together again. This time, I'd like to be the one who takes you. I hope you live a healthy and long life. I love you so much.
From Seira."
Koyama: You sure travel with your grandmother to lots of places!
Seira: My grandmother loves to travel very much, but she can't go very often due to the corona outbreak and I can't go either due to my works. Also she's not in a good shape right now, so she can't go as much as she would like to. I've been really concerned about her lately, so I took this opportunity to write (a letter) to her.
Uga: That's very kind of you.
Koyama: When the outbreak settles down, if you were to travel together, where would you like to go?
Seira: I want to take her out of the country. It seems that my grandfather and grandmother met in Rome ....
Koyama: ROME!?
Uga: How romantic!!
Seira: Hence I would like to take her to Rome for a bit.
Koyama: How did they meet in Rome??
Seira: I heard they met while traveling.
Uga: A true Roman holiday, isn't it?
Uga: Hayakawa-san, i guess many young people have not written so many letters, do you have any advice or that would make them want to write?
Seira: It's not an unexpected pleasure when I receive a letter or find one in the mailbox, but the day suddenly becomes brighter (when I receive it), so I think delivering such feelings to others will brighten my own day, too. Everyone, why don't you try writing letters?

Conker's Bad Fur Day (N64)
First time?: Yes.
CBFD has been on my backlog for like ten years and a couple days ago I was like "fuck it. Why not now?"
I knew certain things about the game already, like the blood, poop, and swearing. I also knew how the game ended, though that honestly just made me more interested to play it to see how that came about.
First impressions, I'll be honest, weren't good. The controls took a while to get used to. They weren't as tight as something like Super Mario 64, nor do you have quite as many ways to manipulate your momentum as something like Banjo-Kazooie. It feels weighty and slippery, and fall damage seems to happen at much shorter heights than you'd think. It doesn't help that your main attack, the frying pan, is fairly slow with less range than it looks.
Fortunately, the game isn't really about the platforming so much. There's platforming segments, but really the game feels more like a linear puzzle-adventure that happens to use platforming mechanics simply as your means of navigating around the world. Instead of the progression being locked behind collectibles like some other platformers of the time, I would say Conker is a more story-driven platformer. Events that happen in the game's plot are the main thing that drive progression.
The game's tone and humor are the main selling points of the game, and as the M-rating suggests, there's a lot of toilet humor, black comedy, and swearing. Often, there'd be a joke that felt too mean-spirited to laugh at, or something particularly cruel that you had to do to progress. Also, the gross-out humor got to be a little much (there are TWO whole levels made of poop). At the same time, the dialogue is almost entirely improv, and there were a few moments that I thought were actually funny.
The visuals and soundtrack are both gorgeous. Given that this was one of the latest N64 games, Rare had gotten quite good at making levels look detailed and aesthetically pleasing. And the soundtrack by Robin Beanland is fantastic; the overworld theme is infectious and I was actually taken aback by how beautiful the Uga Buga theme was and how hard Rock Solid goes.
Final thoughts before going into spoilers: I think the game really won me over by the end and I think the last three or four chapters are were the game is at its strongest. It's definitely an interesting game, and I think even if the subject matter doesn't interest you, it's worth experiencing at least once. Fortunately, the game is so story-driven that you could get 90% of the experience from a cutscene compilation on YouTube (95% if you watch a Let's Play).
Spoilers below the cut.
The last three levels are what sold me on the game, and where I feel like the game used its Mature rating to something actually mature.
The Count Batula level is dripping with spooky atmosphere, the zombies are actually genuinely scary to fight (well, at first. Once you get to the point where you don't actually have to kill them and you realize you can always outrun them…).
The War level is also genuinely unsettling, in a very different way. The whole thing is an homage to Saving Private Ryan, but played mostly straight, showing the horrors of war in the context of cute fuzzy animals. The difficulty of this chapter, frustrating as it can be, just helps sell the idea of fighting for your life behind enemy lines. I finished this chapter right before bed and it actually made me uneasy trying to fall asleep. It's going to stick with me, I think.
Side note; I love Rodent so much. He's adorable and I was so happy when he survived.
And also, gotta talk about the downer ending. For all the asinine things that happen in this game, having Conker lose the one person he cares about most, have the opportunity to bring her back, and getting so caught up in a power trip that he forgets to do so and now has to live with his regret for the rest of his life despite getting everything he's ever wanted. I love a good phyrric victory ending and somehow this goofy game about an alcoholic squirrel sells it for me.
To recap: I went into the game not even sure if I wanted to finish it but came out of the experience really liking it. I'm glad I finally decided to play it. I don't know if I'll play it again.
