Just watched the music video animatic (Storyboard) for life is sweeter
Here is the link lol
If you don't want "spoilers" you can watch it now and read later idk.
First of all the thing that made me write this.
Is Zellie, Rapunzel or Rapunzel's daughter? And Chloe was definitely hitting on her! SHE LITERALLY HAD HEARTS IN HER EYES!
She stuttering "i-i- I think your hair is really great!"
AND RED REACTS WITH "smoooth"
CHLOE IS GAY. SHE'S A LESBIAN. LETS GOOOO LESBIANS LETS GOO!
(Of course this doesn't make her a lesbian, she could also be Bi or pan or whatever else but definitely sapphic. that's just my headcanon)
ok. Like I was shocked. Ofc Disney didn't stick with it tho
Second.
Tiana! Love her verse.
Why didn't they leave her in the movie.
She's an icon.
Third
Zellie again. Loved her verse too! But who is she?? Is she Rapunzel or is she Rapunzel's daughter? I mean it would make more sense if it were Rapunzel herself.
I NEED ANSWERS
Also her hair turning pink from the cupcake? Nice
Fourth.
Chloe again.
Not her crushing on a girl from the past 😭
That wouldn't work out. 😭
But like Red was also checking out Charming lol. (Chloe's face in that frame 😭😭 lol)
But she was just checking not really crushing.
Honestly I'm just rambling right now and trying not to repeat myself.
Idk if it makes sense.
But also Imagine if it is Rapunzel and then meeting her in the future. Awkward. But also I feel ya Chloe.
Fifth
The designs.
Most were cool. Some were creepy lol.
Like I found Chloe's hair cool! But I love her curls and locks more.
Also was the one person Ella? Why she look so depressed? Damn. Like the zoom in at her when Charming's part came.
Actually makes sense with her living conditions nevermind. Valid.
Also charming looks creepy.
Hades looks okay.
Morgie became He-Man.
Hook was fine. Reminds me of Harry. But the way they moved him was funny and His voice 😭 slay 💅🏼
And Maleficent was maleficent.
I LOVE THEM ALL. I'M NOT HATING ON THEM! it's just my thoughts! And it's also the storyboard. Which slay.
Also funny little mention.
I laughed at how Aladdin just flew in, took a cupcake, and flew away again. They probably would have talked in that scene? Idk but it was just funny. And the way he flexed 😭
Sixth
The left out/changed verses
Idk WHO said "Hey princess" but that was hot. and it was probably Bridget since it zoomed in on her. but idk the actual Person that said that
(Reminds me of Catra's "Hey Adora")
Also If Tiana is a Princess that means her and Prince Naveen are already together. Slay.
🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
CALL ME TIANA! I GOT THAT something water? RUNNING SO DEEP IN MY VEINS! 🤸
I CAN JAZZ IT UP ✨
DON'T YOU PASS IT UP 🫣
WHEN IT COMES TO MY BEIGNETS 🤤
🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
I would never pass on your beignets 🫡
I like it more than "CaLl Us jAlAdDin" even if it was kinda cute and funny.
Would have been fire in the movie.
(if this would be in the movie and the jaladdin part would be the other idee, I would not want to change it)
Next.
"Oh look 👀 there's Zelly 😒"
Why does it sound like that. Is it only me? Idk.
🎼🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
I'm just like my hair 🤫
Don't fit in anywhere 😶‍🌫️
And I can't say I mind it 😙
NoOoO I don't 💁🏼
🎼🎵🎶🎵🎶🎵🎶
Go off, girl! yeah! Speak your mind ✨🤸
Beautiful voice, I mean for the whole song really. Don't know who that is tho.
After that is the iconic gay panic from Chloe 😭😭😭
Why did they cut it 😒😭 not slay
We need Sapphic Chloe! 🫠
"Looking Good Zelly! The sun shines a little more- *enter the VKs music*"
Very funny. Would have loved that cut off.
Next.
🎵🎶🎵🎶
All I have to say is 😀
Stay out of Ursula's sister's way 😄
🎵🎶🎵🎶
Maleficent 🤠 what. was. that. 🤠
I mean I love that you have more lines and also it's very funny. But like. Personally, I like that they didn't keep that. But also, like I said. Funny.
I mean if it were
'stay out of Uliana's way'
Wouldn't be funny
Wouldn't have minded if they kept it like that either, now that I think about it. Anyway.
Next.
I do like that Uliana already snatched one cupcake. But the way it is right now is great too.
And that they got hit with the cupcakes. But then again. It would be annoying to clean.
"Wait, that's too many!" From Brigdet. I like that.
I liked them chasing Bridget more but
Uliana just running at her and Ella pulling her out of the way which makes only Uliana fall into the Fountain that was behind them was also funny.
The End
Thanks for listening to my rambles! ✨❤️
Byeee
Well reading.
If I forgot any changes (probably) or you also notice something fun or interesting I would love to hear it!
Imma watch the other storyboards later.
Here the links if you haven't seen them
Red
Love ain't it .
Don't spoil me for those two please 👀.

Rewatched the episode to organise my thoughts and I really wanted to share my understanding of the emotional journey Pat is going through this ep. I do feel, like @lurkingshan and @ginnymoonbeam in particular have been saying to me, that Pat's journey is sliiiiiiightly harder to follow, and it hinges on the conversation on two levels that he and Jeng have near the middle of the ep (which, more on that in a moment). Like always, this ep could have used a little nip/tuck, and maybe a montage to show the passage of time, but I'd like to present to you...
PAT'S EPISODE 9 EMOTIONS: A STORY
First movement: absolute cringe, totally embarrassed. He was drunk and weeping, hanging off his boss who had to answer his MOM's phone call and get him home. Said boss is also gay which...we're not processing that right now because it adds an entirely new cringe level.
Second movement: starts to think about the fact that JENG IS GAY AND ONLY JUST TOLD HIM which feels like maybe Jeng has been laughing at him a bit and messing him about. Because he thought they were bonding somewhat all this time but Jeng didn't share this when he knows Pat is also gay. Shoves the stuffie in the drawer because he feels betrayed.
Third movement: Here is where things get wibbly because time is clearly passing between the day after the bar and the day Pat's dad shows up, but we don't really understand how much. Pat is actively avoiding Jeng. Jeng is asking Chot where he is, Pat is taking (multiple?) days off...but no idea of when this falls in the timeline so hard to follow the throughline.
Fourth movement: Pat is back at work and clearly DEEP in his feelings, he has been stewing over this for who knows how long at this point (feels more weeks than days or months). Chot is noticing (and likely misunderstanding the source of the churn as a lovers' tiff rather than a not-lovers' tiff). He thought he wouldn't have to see Jeng because Chot is standing in for him at the screening but Jeng shows up and he kind of panics. So he's feeling embarrassed, a little betrayed and like Jeng has been toying with him.
Fifth movement: This is where they have the convo on two levels. I say that because Pat was clearly saying one thing while Jeng was hearing another. Pat is saying: 'stop doing these things because I can't say no when you're sweet to me.' Jeng is hearing: 'stop doing these things because I can't say no when you are my boss.' The language is deliberately vague, and the idea of two meanings could get lost, but the show makes it clear in the two follow up scenes where Jeng and Pat have separate vents about what's happening. Jeng is crying to Jaab that Pat only sees him as a coworker, while Pat is fuming to Jen that Jeng is playing with his feelings. Pat said 'I don't want to misunderstand' and Jeng said 'you're not misunderstanding' and Pat said 'no I must be misunderstanding because it don't even make sense, so leave me alone please.'
Sixth movement: Pat exposits those feelings of being toyed with to Jen, who is like 'solidarity sister, these brothers be doing that.'
Seventh movement: Chot tells Pat Jeng is quitting and that's when Pat starts to realise that maybe the man was Not Fucking Around, but the WHY ME? is strong because Pat is aware that Jeng is An Adult and he is The Hot Mess Express. Then the man plans him a damn birthday celebration but stays away like he asked.
Eighth movement: At this point, Pat is the SpongeBob crab meme. THERE IS JUST TOO MUCH HAPPENING AND HE CANNOT PROCESS IT HE HAS SOMEHOW GOTTEN LOST IN THE SAUCE. He breaks the fuck down and cries to his mommy and daddy, because it's all too much.
Ninth movement: Pat experiences the miracle of birth up close and fucking personal and like many of us cannot believe that a human can actually do that and what the fuck is he actually caught up about. His good sis MADE A PERSON IN THE STREET and then posted it on Instagram like it was light work, and he is skressed because a gay man likes him, another gay man.
Tenth movement: And then Pat gets home and said gay man has sent him a BOX of snacks just because he said he liked them once, and then sends him a text that basically says 'I LIKE YOU DUMMY, SO MUCH, BECAUSE YOU'RE YOU.'
Look, all I'm saying is my man Pat went on a journey ok?

Chapter 28 of Nona the Ninth
A broken Sixth skull this time, but I'd guess probably not for any kind of deception
Tumblr media
Honestly curious about who Gideon thinks Nona is at this point. I guess it's plausible that she does know Nona is Alecto since she did think Harrow was in love with Alecto
Tumblr media
Are we ever going to find out what happened? Because I would like to know
Also, this kind of raises the question of why Alecto forgot she was Alecto here? Did she forget when John put her in the tomb? But even if she forgot who she was at that point, she spent all of Harrow the Ninth interacting with Harrow and even giving her advice (and her advice to lie to Mercy about her age indicates that she remembers something about who she is, at any rate) and Nona doesn't remember anything about Harrow here. So did something that happened at the end of Harrow the Ninth cause her to forget?
Tumblr media
A ward of some sort, I guess
Tumblr media
This reminds me of the whole "why does Ross, the largest friend, not simply eat the other friends" thing. Maybe this isn't just because Alecto has a resurrection beast perspective but also because this story is actually full of people eating each other, also, can you really blame her for making this assumption?
Tumblr media
So the resurrection beast doesn't just drive necromancers mad, it also makes doing necromancy dangerous, at least for regular necromancers anyway, this didn't seem to be an issue for the Lyctors at the end of Harrow the Ninth
Tumblr media
Camilla is like, half-dead in this scene, but she's still making jokes
Tumblr media
So if I understand this correctly, they're making plans to somehow travel physically through the River in this BOE truck to Pluto, which for some reason isn't going to be dangerous the way it usually is, but no one has explained why yet
Something that's slightly confusing to me here is that they're talking about Gideon telling them things, and We Suffer is part of this conversation, and I think later GIdeon is outside the truck and sitting up and all, but at the beginning of this chapter Gideon claimed she was still pretending to be dead. So does We Suffer and the rest of BOE know that Gideon isn't really that dead right now, or what?
Tumblr media
I think after the last John chapter, it's been sort of established for me that there isn't a right way to do Lyctorhood and there was never any kind of "perfect" Lyctorhood like whatever Mercy and Augustine though John was hiding from them. I guess Pyrrha wouldn't know, though, even if she does somehow remember the story John told, she wasn't alive at the time that John ate Alecto
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I guess this is the gay sense and not the political sense?
This is mouth-to-mouth kiss #2, and so far neither of them have been between characters who actually have any kind of romantic hinting
Tumblr media
Who is "she"?
Tumblr media Tumblr media
I guess Camilla saved some of Palamedes' bones just so that she could eat it to fulfill the cannibalism part of the Lyctorhood ritual?
Tumblr media
I don't think we've actually seen what happens during the standard Lyctorhood process looks like - we didn't see Ianthe's, we didn't get a detailed description of Harrow's, and everyone else's happened 10,000 years ago, so I have to wonder how this differs from the others, other than obviously they would usually wind up in the necromancer's body
Also, this seems like possibly a worse or at least not better version of what happened to the other Lyctors, since it seems like both Camilla and Palamedes died and they have become someone new instead
Tumblr media
I mean, maybe for Ianthe, but I think Babs is long gone at this point, no?
I guess Ianthe noped out because she realized that there was no way she was going to be able to get back to the shuttle and therefore return with either Gideon or Pyrrha or the Sixth House, and she's obviously been aware of what's going on. But this also means she knows the approximate location of the Sixth House and what their plans are for Gideon's body, which I'm sure will be of great interest to John

I noticed that too :( when Dillon said they’d still all be at sixth form even though they’d finished school it felt like he said it for Lucas benefit because he knew he didn’t have any friends. When do you think he actually became proper friends with Lucas?
I think Dillon started to like Lucas as a friend sometime in their hiatus before the phone stealing mystery. We see them play fighting in the football scene & they are mischievous together with the fire extinguishers. I think we've been missing some of that lighthearted hayray with all of the dramatic intense feelings and trauma, that we forget the other side of them that led to them falling for each other in the first place. They laughed together. That moment where Lucas is telling John Paul what he likes about Dillon is very indicative for some of that. Like, they like the same sport and they have the same humor. In the early stages they were pure mischievous unrealized boyfriends seriously, I miss that aspect abt them. And when Dillon started to sense things going on with Lucas, that's when it became deeper. Like he was calling Lucas his friend then when I'm sure Lucas would've denied any part of that. Dillon is compassionate and he naturally has care for people/his friends, that's heightened because of the fact that he sees himself in Lucas even if he didn't know he's gay back then. Dillon knows what it's like to feel alone and to not fit in, even if he had the strength to stand up against it on his own (+the love of Misbah) & know he deserves better. His struggles with his mom not accepting him, the heartbreak with his friend who was homophobic... And he senses Lucas is not being himself, regardless. Then, the sensing of the James stuff/trouble at home, Lucas' tendency to hide himself; like he relates! So, he started looking out for him more as a friend/truly caring, because he can see he's struggling (and this is all before his indication that he's gay-I'm thinking abt the stealing pills scene (I think that's what it was), etc..). And he doesn't want to see someone, who he's now gotten a sense of the real them that is cool and kinder than they let on, hurting.

Season Finale Spoilers
MINOR SPOILERS
Can we just talk about how hot the woman this season were?
FIRST: I don’t know if I just see gay, but you can’t tell me Monica and Charlie would be hot…
SECOND: Laura?!? Her hair cut🥵
THIRD: Lucy and Angela in the vest🥵 that whole laundry mat scene. When Lucy jumped! 😭 hot
FOURTH: Monica is so hot I just wanna say that again
FIFTH: Nyla is just so hot this week!
SIXTH: Can I just say Angela is hot even when she’s covered in dirt?
Okay I’m done
Major spoilers ahead
JOHN
John getting shot…I just didn’t care. Like I hardly reacted. But once again, can we just say how he’s been more of a hero than a cop. I feel like he keeps making choices that are more considered to be a hero choice than a cop choice and that’s why I don’t think that he should be a TO. Yes he’s doing the right thing but also he’s gonna end up getting, Selena killed because he’s showing her to take the risks that aren’t worth it.
I get that Blair’s life was practically up in the air, but he’s not only could’ve ruined his career but also Nyla’s career. And got himself killed. I just think that he likes to make choices without thinking and I think that’s my problem with him being a Tio comes from.
Glad he’s alive and all but I really wish they’d actually make him a good TO. I’d much rather of had Tim be her official TO because she thrives with him and Nyla. She needs strict.
EPISODE IN GENERAL
I think a lot of people are gonna have an issue with this season finale just because it’s focused more on the so-called villains of the show rather than the main cast. I quite liked it as an episode. I don’t know if I liked it as a season finale. I feel like they didn’t leave it open enough to. We’re not left in suspense like season finale do.
CHENFORD
Unpopular opinion, but I don’t think that should have gotten back together the season. I feel like it would’ve been rushed and they’re just not ready for that. I think that Lucy needs to figure out how to do things for herself and consider herself the choices that she makes and I think Tim needs to gravel. He needs to show her that she can trust him again. Trust him not to leave when things get tough. I’m so glad we didn’t see them kiss or anything. Come next season I want to see Tim continuing to work on himself.
Besides if they had gotten back together, it wouldn’t have made sense. Because I don’t think they’ve had a chance to talk about what actually happened between them and it just would’ve been rushed and I’m glad that they didn’t and since we know that they’re coming back for season seven it’s all gonna be OK in the end so y’all just need to be patient and willing to wait it out.
FEDS
I loved seeing them. I hope they have a few appearances next season, I’d also love to see them close there stories up. Wrap up stories that they didn’t have the opportunity to. Also again- Laura’s hair😭🥵
BLAIR
I fucking hate that we might have to see her again. I hate her so much…. Ugh 😑 I’m glad Aaron stuck it to her. He deserves a hundred times better than this asshole. To find out she killed someone?!? Nothing I hate more than drunk drivers. Like if she was truly remorseful she wouldn’t have had someone get rid of the body. Like wtf ?! I hate her sm
WOPEZ
I just wanted a baby name reveal 😭

'Is it possible to look forward to something that you know is going to emotionally destroy you? That’s the un-namable feeling that was stirred in many upon watching the trailer for Andrew Haigh’s All Of Us Strangers; which features Andrew Scott and Paul Mescal in a haunted love story.
As it turns out, watching the full film is an even more white-knuckle assault on the soul, and long after stepping out from the cinema, All Of Us Strangers will haunt you like the spectres that appear in the story. But once you’ve picked through all the emotional rubble, what happened in the ending, and what does it all mean? Spoilers, obviously, ahead…
Adapted from the 1987 Japanese novel, Strangers, by Taichi Yamada, Scott plays Adam, a gay scriptwriter who lives – almost – alone in a Ballardian high-rise building in London. As he struggles to write a story, based on his family, he revisits his family home in the suburbs near Croydon (actually Haigh’s own childhood home), only to find his deceased parents (played by Jamie Bell and Claire Foy) – who died when he was 12 in a car crash – still living there, stuck in the ‘80s era in which he last saw them. They invite him in to catch up on the years past between them.
Running concurrent to these apparitions, he then meets Harry (Mescal), a man who lives in the same apartment block, and who, once Adam lets in, both literally and emotionally, they go on to have a passionate yet nurturing relationship. Both men address their sexuality: Adam lets his guard down, and Harry appears to be an antidote to his insecurity about his queerness, the loss of his parents and his loneliness.
Ending explained
After the clubbing scene – one of the most realistic on-screen depictions of a hedonistic night out in recent memory – Adam’s reverie in having his parents “back” and being secure in a loving relationship with Harry all starts to unravel.
He’s told by Harry that, while high on ketamine in the club, he had a meltdown, screaming out for his mum and dad, and that Harry had to take him home. Adam then decides to let Harry in on his visits, taking him home to see his parents. Though Harry appears to catch a glimpse of them, he tells Adam that it’s all in his mind.
The crux of the film comes when Adam’s parents tell him that he can no longer visit him, that he has to let go and get on with his own life, stressing in particular that he needs to take care of Harry, who his mum points out, has a sadness in his face.
Adam returns to his flat in London, but for the first time, heads to Harry’s apartment on the sixth floor. When he enters, he’s greeted by a stench, and he goes in to find Harry, dead, in his bedroom, clutching the same bottle of Japanese whiskey that he was drinking the first night he came to Adam’s door, and was rejected by him.
And here’s the plot twist: Harry died that night, and the entire relationship between him and Adam was all a figment of Adam’s imagination. Adam has been Sixth Sensing throughout the whole film, either as a mental breakdown, disassociating, or a coping mechanism for the deep-seated trauma he still feels from the loss of his parents as a child. The almost maternal way Harry cared for Adam when he had a fever, for example, was wish fulfilment on Adam’s part: he wants a partner to care for him how his mother did, and he projected this role onto a fantasy version of Harry.
But it doesn’t end there, as Harry reappears, in the same pink jumper he wore when he first visited Adam, and confirms that he’s dead (“I was so lonely that night”, he explains mournfully). The pair head back to Adam’s apartment. If this is the reality, Adam appears to reason, he wants to continue the delusion and live in his fantasy world. He has had to say goodbye to his parents – again – but he’s not letting go of the ghost of Harry, who never truly existed in the real-world relationship with Adam, and who seems to represent Adam’s inability to move on in life, and let people in.
The past is where Adam wants to stay – or is he stuck in purgatory, as he’s also dead, as perhaps he has been right from the start? – and as he cosies up to Harry on his bed, the ending gets cosmic. As the pair form a heart formation, cuddled up to each other, a light begins to shine between them, which gets brighter as they recede into the blackness, and other stars begin to shine beside them. As Frankie Goes To Hollywood blares out, it’s “The Power Of Love” indeed, a force from above.
What does the director say about it?
Andrew Haigh spoke with the journalist Evan Ross Katz about the ambiguous ending in his newsletter, Shut Up Evan: “I kind of go back and forth with all of that. I certainly knew that I wanted this film to feel like when you wake up from a dream and you think you understood it but you’re not sure if you did, and you find that the more that you pick at the dream, the more it raises new questions.
“And on the logical front, your sense of the film is correct, but everyone has different interpretations. People have come to me and said, ‘Is Adam dead all along?’ and ‘Is this purgatory’ and ‘Is any of it real?’ I mean, it's a film, so none of it's actually real, but it’s all the manifestation of a feeling, so if people see different things in that, they should. And I'm aware that some people will want a much happier ending and I'm aware of the things that people instinctively want — including myself.”'

hot take no one asked for: atyd is way too canon compliant for the marauders fandom
ok first of all i'd like to clear up some things. i know many people love it, it's a very very important part of the marauders fandom and it's very well written. no hate to enjoyers OR mskingbean89 (whom i respect very much, thank u). the wolfstar is definitely GOLDEN and the jily is adorable. this is a very personal view that i have been thinking about, and felt like sharing. also note that i dropped the fic and only got up till, like, fifth or sixth year
there are multiple things which id like to list from the fic that makes me not like it very much as a person with a lot of marauders hcs that are very much not canon compliant, and that feel like the author is writing from a very 'just entered the fandom cuz of wolfstar lol' understanding. again, absolutely NO hate intended, and ik the writing does NOT indicate how much the person understands about the fandom. also, understanding doesn't matter!! everyone who's part of the fandom is part of the fandom, and that's that.
keep in mind that these are things that I PERSONALLY hc. nothing is canon here in the marauders era fandom and if it is, it smells terrible and as such, everyone will have different ideas
also, while i'm at it, i'd like to compliment some things rq. remus portrayal and character development - PEAK. beautifully written. explanation and portrayal of mary (who's character i didn't really understand before reading atyd) - AMAZING. the relationship between the black brothers also made me cry (THE LETTER SCENE?!?!?! YALL KNOW WHAT IM TALKING ABT). also grant is my bbg
here's the list:
hufflepuff dorcas (who also dated pete???) (i hc her to be slytherin and also part of the skittles)
no dorlene (a ship that's basically slightly less popular lesbian wolfstar in terms of how many ppl add dorlene to their stories (a lot))
shy marlene (whereas marlene is usually depicted as very bombastic and explosive and also very much gay). actually i liked this portrayal of marlene which was very well written and also adorable but... idk i don't see marlene as a shy girl
no evan rosier/pandora rosier/(slytherin) dorcas? only barty and regulus (so basically, no slytherin skittles/royal court/pantheon)
on that note, obviously-mean reg? (as in, instead of quietly sneering at people like many of us hc him, he outright shames ppl for being gay) (also i didn't mention barty cuz we all know barty's a little shit)
very toxic sirius (who ignored reg just bc he was sorted into slytherin, who fwb with remus and acted like it was normal and straight (guys fwb w a guy as a giy id bery much not straight), who didn't do much but fuck girls and cheat on them, who was outwardly jealous and mean to christopher, who acted weird and badmouthed grant after learning he and rem used to be tgt)
sirius hating pete (although this makes sense and is a common viewpoint of the harry potter fandom especially that pete is annoying or unlikeable, it feels rly rly cruel and makes sirius even more unlikeable imo cuz WHAT did bbg do to u he's js a kid he hasn't killed no one yet?)
all of these points show that mskingbean89 doesn't seem to pay much attention to characters (or more specifically, the fanon interpretations of characters) other than wolfstar and jily. many of these are key hcs that can be found in 75% of marauders content at least (example, dorlene) and the hcs they have seem straight out of hp (the books). ONE MORE TIME FOR THE PEOPLE AT THE BACK: THERE IS NO ABSOLUTELY NO PROBLEM WITH THIS. i just personally don't see much of the content i love of the marauders characters (although ik that isn't the point of atyd, as it is wolfstar-centric)
ok that's all i got ty if u read this. pls do let me know ur opinion abt atyd! its def one of the pillars of the marauders era which many people use as canon and i don't mean to offend anyone in any way w this post. just an opinion

So, I stayed up until after midnight because I decided 30 pages wasn't that much in my hyper-fixated state. I have no regrets because this little gem is one of the last scenes of the entire novel:
"I'm heading out. I got a present for Master Iruka," Sarada said, holding up a cherry pink paper bag. Strawberry daifuku from Tami Traditional sweets in the Old City. They were widely known to be extraordinary and quickly sold out, so they were hard to get a hold of, a rare treat.  "Oh right, you're doing a home stay at Master Iruka's, right?" Kakashi said.   '"Yeah!" Sarada nodded happily. "Cuz mom and dad are away on a long mission. Master Iruka's an amazing cook. He's teaching me all kinds of stuff. It's loads of fun." "Ohh. He is pretty skilled."  Iruka was a longtime bachelor like Kakashi, but unlike Kakashi, who paid little attention to his personal life to start with, Iruka kept a neat home. In contrast with the desk of the Sixth Hokage, which was always covered with scattered papers and documents, the principal's office at the Academy was famously neat and tidy.
I love the idea of Sakura and Sasuke trusting Iruka enough to look aftertheir daughter while they're out on extended missions. I'm sure the other rookies do the same with their children, especially Naruto and Hinata. But besides that, Kakashi's been thinking about Iruka A LOT through this novel.
He describes how he felt when his father died, and how Minato helped him through that. He thinks about Obito and if he's made him proud. But he thinks of Iruka in his present.
The justu's he taught him, the advice he gave to him when he couldn't sleep, how he helped him draft the Capture No-Kill policy, everything. Then, when he's finally home after 20 days of traveling, he runs into the kids, and there's another reminder of Iruka's presence in his life. He compares and contrasts their personalities, but he favors Iruka's assets rather than dismisses them. He's spent enough time with Iruka to the point he knows how well he cooks now, how neat his home and office is.
He's been in those spaces more than once. It's obvious that the two are well-acquainted with one another at this point. With this information, it makes total sense that Iruka would know Kakashi's alternate personality, Sukea. But more than that, it makes sense that Kakashi would be comfortable enough to reveal his face to him. He refers to them each as bachelors, but then lists the amount of domestic duties Iruka enjoys.
It honestly sounds like old gay lingo except it's the shinobi version. He went through hell on that mission, but he didn't kill a single person. No one died, and Iruka gave him the tools needed in order to accomplish that.
Of course, that doesn't mean Kakashi's gentle about it, but he keeps what Iruka taught him in the forefront of his mind at all times, even when he's incredibly incensed.

Welp. Ep 7 was something. and by something I mean it hit me right in the heart and I have too much to say about it. So stick with me, yeah?
Let's talk about Chan first. Talk about misleading, huh. So they're not real brothers. That makes more sense.
I don't know about anyone else, but what I see here is jealousy.
First, Khatha didn't want to share Chan (brothers, yeah sure), not only because he was afraid people couldn't accept him, but also, subconsciously, he knew that his real fear was losing Chan to the villagers.
He loses Chan anyway.
Enter stage: Boon. Now I don't know what ya'll think about him and Chan, but here's what I saw: Chan and Boon in love. And here's what gave me the idea:
See that freaking smile?! No?
Tumblr media
See it?! That smile is just screaming, "I know I'm better than you." Or in this case, "I know he loves me more."
There's also him trying to protect Chan at all costs.
Also, i knew that Tay Tawan was a good actor. Of course, i did. But this? He now has a fixed place pretty high in my list of Thai (BL) actors i stan.
And the forest scene? With Chan and Khatha's "brotherly" bond officially breaking? Oh God. I wanted to hug both of them (T~T)
And Khatha being the one responsible for Chan's death- I almost cried (why do shows with Gun ATP have such a high tendency to make me cry?)
Second, I read a post somewhere (don't remember where) that predicted what would happen in ep 7. It was very similar to what actually happened. So congratulations, I guess?
Third, The One explaining to Khatha that Chan knew; he knew, and he understood. But sometimes, knowing doesn't make it better. It didn't automatically mean that Chan could forgive him. Instead of moping about his past, and trying not to repeat it, he's ironically headed in the same direction. It's like trying to escape a prophecy – the more you try, the closer you get to making it come true.
Fourth, getting absolutely plastered almost every single day because Dome is in a coma?
Brothers, really?
I swear, this show gets more gay with every episode.
Fifth. Nanon making a comeback as The One. HELL YES! The attitude, the condescence, he's nailing it.
Tumblr media
Sixth, love that they have a gay couple cameo, however small.
And the question that started it all: who's next on midnight museum? From what I've seen of the preview, we have Junior Panachai (the telephone guy) and Mark Jiruntanin (the guy who probably dies). Mark played Prince in 'Sky in My Heart'.

A few days ago @little-smartass tagged me to self rec 5 of my fics so here we are! Out of 84 fics published to AO3, here are the 5 (and a bonus sixth lol) in no particular order that I'd like to highlight 🥰
The Sculptor (WangXian, 27.6k)
This fic was inspired by a fabulous piece of fanart by @ceru-draws and I wrote it in a 3-day sprint/fugue state. I'm still really proud of it mostly because I think it's the tightest narrative I've managed to write yet so far, and I really enjoyed creating a modern AU but set in the American 1970's, with some of the little undercurrents of queer/counter culture that that entails. It was really fun to write, the art it's based on is beautiful, and I think it's a nice little read. (It's also part of a series, so if you like it there's more to the universe!)
2. Outta Time (3zun, 4.7k)
Okay so this one is relatively short, less than 5k words, but it's about the ✨vibes✨, alright, and they're immaculate if I do say so myself. @little-smartass and I realized last summer right about this time that we both love Orville Peck and I said I'd always pictured 3zun so vividly for the line in Outta Time that goes "Drag me to the party guess I got nowhere to go / Got a man to my left and one on my right and they're tellin' me 'bout what they know". And aren't I just a lucky duck - she had great ideas for writing a whole fic AND she drew that scene that sparked it all 😭 This fic is also the start of the Orville Peck Cinematic Universe, which is currently only 2 published fics but there are many more in the works! This is the fic for you if you like soft gay cowboys.
3. Tales From Jianghu Shopping Center (Wangxian, NieLan (implied), SangCheng (unestablished), 6.6k)
This is another one that's all about The Vibes, this time inspired by a post by @lansplaining reimagining all of the Great Sects as businesses in a seedy strip mall. It's the 90's, it's summer, it's fluffy fun and low-stakes drama for everyone! I wrote this one partially out of homesickness when I was missing the boiling hot Southeast American summers I'm used to, but also I just really have a deep love for shitty little strip malls and the weird shit you find in them so this was bound to happen either way once I saw that absolutely INSPIRED post. This is also another one that's part of a larger universe (are you sensing a theme?) and they're all slice-of-life fluffy little summer things focusing on various ships within the community. And I have more in the works!
4. After Each Midnight Begins A New Day (3zun, Wangxian (background), 54.4k)
The one that started it all! This is not only my first chaptered fic for The Untamed, it's the first chaptered fic I've ever finished in my life, and I'd been writing fic for a decade by then. I feel like I can't really rec things I've written without including this one, which was a turning point for me in the fandom both in terms of starting to really actively participate by sharing stuff I'd written (outside of tags and short one-shots) and in really letting 3zun take over my brain for what would be the next three-ish years and counting. I still go back and reread this fic every now and again and of course there are things I would change now with so much practice under my belt since I wrote it, but I do still love it as it is. (This one is also part of a larger universe with plenty of extra scenes, some of which are chaptered fics themselves....shocking, I know.)
5: You Need Tending (12k) and You Are Of Their Ilk (44k+/WIP) (Baby Wangxian)
I'm putting these two fics together for number 5 because this is my post and I make the rules now lol. I wrote the first fic and then decided that I wanted to explore the sort of ripple effects of what happens after the Lan save WWX from the streets, and then it really got away from me, so the sequel is much bigger and more emotionally fraught than the first (at least in my opinion). It just feels weird to recommend either of them without the other when they're so closely linked! It's been ages, I know, since I last updated You Are Of Their Ilk but I'm still claiming that it's a WIP - I will finish it one day, I just don't know exactly when. So if you love it and want to see it finished, don't give up hope!
So there we go! I know this is more than 5 (a LOT more than five if you include the extras and stuff for all the fics lol) but oh well. As per usual I'm terrible at knowing who to tag for these things but I'm going to give it a shot (and if you see this and you're not tagged but you want to play then consider yourself tagged by me!)
@wei--wuxian @omgpurplefattie @iamwestiec @rhysiana and/or anyone else who wants to play!

For the if they were canon ask game: 🎬 + Rosaline Craven, please??
@dancingsunflowers-ocs ✨💖✨
Anything for my Ro baby, and for you, Alexandra!! (Also gonna tag @luucypevensie since she’s Rosaline’s godmama. <3)
HOW THEY'D BE INTRODUCED:
So I don’t think Rosaline would really be properly introduced with a name and everything until Order of the Phoenix, but I can see her continually popping up in the background of various shots, walking around with Pansy or sitting at the Slytherin table in the Great Hall or glaring at Ginny’s back if she’s part of a conversation. There would probably also be a scene where the focus is on Harry and a conversation he’s having while he’s with the Weasleys, but you can sort of hear Ginny in the background complaining about a Slytherin girl who seems to think they’re in some kind of competition, and you know who that is…
WHO THE FANDOM SHIPS THEM WITH:
Definitely mainly Ginny, but I can see people also shipping her with Pansy, since we all love a good friends to lovers arc, or even Luna, since they develop something of an unlikely friendship once Rosaline starts getting closer to the people around Ginny.
WHY THE FANDOM LOVES THEM:
I think for a lot of the same reasons the fandom loves Draco - child of a rich pureblood family of Death Eaters who doesn’t actually want to be a part of what their parents are making them do and who’s secretly in love with the rival they made for themselves - but since Rosaline actually gets her redemption arc in canon, they might even like her better (😅). I also think a lot of people would love her sense of style and her impeccable comebacks.
WHY THE FANDOM HATES THEM:
You just know there would be people who hate her for “breaking up” Harry and Ginny and “turning Ginny gay,” even though that’s obviously total bullshit. I also think a lot of people would call her redemption arc unrealistic or hate her because she’s kind of naturally snarky and bitchy, because you know how people get when female characters are like that.
WHAT THE CAST RELATIONSHIP WOULD BE LIKE:
Camila Mendes seems to be super sweet and funny, so I think she’d get along great with the cast! I definitely think she’d be good friends with Rupert Grint and Emma Watson, and obviously she and Bonnie Wright would do a bunch of cute interviews together.
WHAT THEIR AUDITION SCENE WOULD BE:
Likely the scene where Rosaline approaches Ginny and Neville about joining Dumbledore’s Army during sixth year, where she gives a little speech about wanting to right her wrongs and not wanting to be on the wrong side of the war anymore. It’s an emotional moment that touches on a lot of her motivations and who she is as a character, so I think it would be an important scene to have for auditions and see which actress can nail it.
DEPENDING ON THE FANDOM, WHO THEY’D BE AT PRESS TOURS/COMIC CON WITH:
Likely either the actors for the Silver Trio - Bonnie Wright, Matthew Lewis, and Evanna Lynch - or even Tom Felton, since they do play the two prominent Slytherins in the story.
IF THEY SPOIL THINGS:
I’m sure Camila would never!
IF THE SHOW/MOVIE HAS ENDED, IF THEY’RE HAPPY WITH THEIR CHARACTER’S ENDING AND THE ENDING AT LARGE:
Definitely! By the end of the story, Rosaline has escaped from under her parents’ thumbs, proven herself to be a better person than she ever thought she was, and finally in a relationship with the girl she’s been pining for. A pretty good ending, if you ask me.

Best comics by publisher:
I am bored and autistic and gay and so I've compiled an objectively subjective list of the 'best' books from each publisher. You're welcome, America.
IDW-honestly the current Star Trek run is phenomenal and we all love TMNT but I gotta give it to Atomic Robo.
Scout-Metal Shark Bro is so good that it honestly skewed my expectations for the entire publisher. They truthfully have two solid lines and the rest is an odd marketing campaign. The Black Caravan stuff was fun, though.
Boom!-SIKTC is undeniably amazing and 'We Only Find Them When They're Dead' is objectively top tier but for me, it's all about Coda. The art, the writing, the straight dude getting dunked on by his orc paladin wife-perfection. The first issue of the continuation just dropped and reading it was like returning home.
Ahoy!-Penultiman is pretty good but I think 'The Wrong Earth' is clearly their best title.
Valiant-hear me out, hear me out. I've collected ALL of Valiant's reboot, 2012-present. Unfortunately I must report that peak Valiant is X-O Manowar: Retribution. 1993 was a good year for whacky sci-fi comics. There is a scene wherein Aric of Darcia proclaims:"he must be like those men who prefer other men. I do not understand these men; but damn, do they make the best wizards!" That's peak fiction.
Dark Horse-look Hellboy is great. It's so good that I almost gave it to Mike Mignolia just on merit and industry influence alone. Unfortunately, Jeff Lemire exists. Black Hammer is perfect in every way. MIND MGMT was a strong second.
Image-Astro City. The characters are deep, emotional beings. Their stories breathe in the most human way. Most other titles conflate grit with maturity while AC makes you feel without several arcs of trauma porn. Also, im happy to see creators who remember that comic books are the home of wackiness. Its a slice of life hero series-10/10. Also Alex Ross. This (image) was annoying to choose because-despite suffering the unforgivable scourge of Robert Kirkman- Image has so many other good titles. Bitch Planet, Savage Dragon and Spawn (obligatory, obvi), Rumble, Chew, Outer Darkness, Descender/Ascender, etc .. not to mention Radiant Black. I still want to give it to Saga. Due to all the confusion with inage/wildstorm/dc having some claim to Astro City I almost skipped it entirely which is a shame but, yeah-Astro City.
TKO Studios-honestly, I'm not sure that this company is still kickin'. They were a fun little experiment though, with several enjoyable titles. I can't say any of them really blew me away. But, if I had to pick a 'best' I'd give it to 'Sentient'. Jeff Lemire can do no wrong.
AWA-they're too new for a selection to have any real meaning but 'The Resistance' is pretty good. It's been a couple years and I hope they produce something else that's quality because E-Ratic was a pretty big let down.
D.C.-Crisis on Infinite Earths. It's a given. There is something to be said about the cultural impact of Crisis. Originally, 'crisis' stories were crossovers of varying stakes. The comic gods(Perez and Wolfman) changed the game with this one. Also, every Crisis story which follows was similarly silly and serious. The pseudo science wackiness and over the top theatrics gets me every time. No other comic company gets it right. D.C. has been getting progressively better and better these last couple years, especially now with the phenomenal 'Dawn of D.C.' stuff. But if I was stranded on an island and could only bring one D.C. title it would be Crisis. ('83 New Teen Titans is of course a strong second)
Oni Press- their Rick and Morty stuff was a guilty pleasure (because it's really quite good but that means I have to spend money on Rick and Morty) and 'The Sixth Gun' was well made. Regardless, their best title was clearly 'Pink Lemonade'. Its chaotic indie fun that doesn't make sense and doesn't have too.
Massive/Whatnot Inc: these guys are really new, started 2022 I think. Not really sold on them yet but one of their first titles, quested, was lots of fun. Pretty small selection so far but what they do have is quality. 'Best book' goes to Plot Holes. Not only did Sean Murphy give us the most tolerable Bruce Wayne, he also gave us this creative joyride. It's equal parts wacky and sincere and best of all, it's in the Murphy style. Even though its early on in the run it's one of those titles you look forward to. throughout the month.
Marvel-Marvel peaked in 1999 with Earth X. Don't get me wrong, I love a great deal of Marvel books. Al Ewing's Ultimates (NOT Bendis) was great. Personally, my favorite Avengers story was the Celestial Madonna saga of the sixties, but Waid's run was great(obvi) and Hickman's was too. Hickman's Xmen stuff...also happened. Cates and Jason aaron had good Thor runs. The first and last of Aaron's avenger arcs were great. Peter David's many 'Spider' runs were fun and Dan Slott sure does exist. The Sam Wilson cap runs were all phenomenal, especially the Symbol of Truth run-and Kelly Thompson's run on Carol was one of the best ever. Good Marvel books have been dwindling lately but Jed McKay's 'Avengers' is honestly one of the best books out there. Unfortunately, none of that good stuff comes close to Earth X. The prose, the thorough examination of human nature, the Alex Ross of it all. Earth X was an ode to Marvel lore which read better than most of Marvel history. 'Nuff said.

I have this random little headcanon that Maverick's obsession with planes means he pretty much only watches movies and shows about airplanes and aviation. He doesn't even know he's doing it, he's just watching what interests him. So he's oblivious about a lot of pop culture, but has very strong opinions on anything that involves a plane.
Planes, Trains and Automobiles: Total ripoff, they give the plane top billing, but it's only in the first half hour! You know why they did that, don't you? Because they know nobody would want to watch a movie just called "Trains and Automobiles!"
Air Force One: Now that's a movie! The plane has the title all to itself and is in almost every scene. Plus, Harrison Ford is an actual pilot, usually they cast non-pilots in these roles and it just feels so condescending and inauthentic (Coyote: Ah yes, Pilotface, Hollywood's most shameful casting practice.) Maverick took Bradley to see it 5 times in theaters, and Ice another 4.
His favorite comedy is Airplane!, his favorite 70s disaster movie is Airport, his favorite sitcom is Wings, which drives Slider nuts because "that show takes place in the same continuity as Cheers and Frasier, two of the best sitcoms of all time. It's not even the best show in it's own shared universe, how can it be your favorite?"
Battle Hymn: Maverick watched it on TV at a foster home one day, he would've liked more flight scenes, but something about the swagger Rock Hudson has in his leather bomber jacket, so calm, cool, and confident, just captivates him. He's so effortlessly masculine yet warm and caring, risking everything to save the Korean war orphans, and as an orphan himself the idea of someone so handsome caring about an unwanted kid like him makes him feel strangely warm inside. Years later he will concede that this was his gay awakening, but he resents how after telling people this they always ask him did you know? Like he has a sixth sense for these things. He found out years later with the rest of the world.
A Matter of Life and Death: Not a lot of actual flying but the main character is RAF. He and Bradley stumble upon the fantasy film about a pilot who cheats death after his guardian angel fails to take him to heaven when it's his time, and then has to argue for his life before a court in heaven, to prolong his budding romance. They watch it together shortly after Carole dies, when they need to do something but don't feel like doing anything, so watching an old movie on TV makes sense. By the end, when the pilot's love interest tells the court she'll go in his place because she loves him, he's tearing up. Embarrassed, he glances at Bradley only to see he's crying too and he knows they're both thinking the same thing, that they'd gladly give their own lives if it meant Carole or Goose could be here again. They don't say anything, they just hold each other while they cry together, even after the movie is over.

Today is the sixth anniversary of my first poetry book, Poetry By Experience. I have taken three rather long poems from my book (collectively titled, A Trilogy of Poems, Parts 1, 2 and 3), and put them into one poem. It is now a really long poem. I have decided to post them for poetry lovers and for my fans from various poetry groups, to share my joy on the sixth anniversary of my book - edited, and neatly re-compiled into one poetic story.
I hope you like it. It’s entitled:
REMNANT MEMORIES OF HOME
(An Anniversary Re-compilation)
FAIR LAND of glory loveliest song of morn
Smiling parks red roses set among thorns
Eager are the pigtailed gals busy to pick
Gallant swains fall in line ready quick
Gay day begins with a cheerful visit
Butterflies flapping floating in their flit
Love songs from the robins for one and all
Joy of my youth ever pleasing as I recall
Blooms linger when seasons cause delay
Young hearts get patient to wait and stay
Innocence and ease enrich my simple life
Nature overrides all hardship and strife
Simple folks endear in humble happiness
My daily loitering brings surplus gladness
Pausing to admire the glory of dawn
Watching the deer with her little fawn
Grazing on tapestry green by the slope
While bees and grasshoppers shyly elope
I dream of the maiden I secretly love
Like cooing doves wooing in their cove
Crossing quiet brook to watch her charm
Yonder fence lies her cultivated rainbow farm
I bless the approaching brilliance of day
When all around me freely lend a play
Contentment fills my soul cheers my heart
A pastime frolicking joyfully never to part
Simple pleasures and joys in sweet succession come
Dancing pairs bring sweet memories for dreams at home
Restful sleep follows in peace when the day is done
Alas! These lovely charms are past and gone.
FOR greed has turned thy greens to yellow
No encore, no cheer, from grass to fellow
To the north, a new field, thy children flee
From the womb of Mother Earth set free
Freedom stings not numbing thy pain
New owners destroying thy smiling plain
Thy glassy brooks no longer reflect
Mossy paths mirroring a land neglect
Fallen leaves of nests for charging ants
Echoing the loud cry of thy poor vagrants
Wealth accumulates as thy land decays
Dry wind carries its stink day after day
Peasantry once gay now in great despair
Humbled down to breathe its own foul air
Times have altered thy once fair train
Rolling swiftly to dispossess thy grain
Thy packed lawn of fond cheering crowd
Empty, without the sportsmen’s shout
Devoid of the clapping scene of delights
The polo ponies run their winning flights
Looking across the sea on its weary shore
Generous provisions shall come no more
Bitter sweet is the sense of dreaded hour
To face the tyrant in his rigorous power
Covering the solitary rounds in wandering
Hopping along rugged paths, staggering
Awakened memories roam thy present ruins again
Capture my heart but changing to the past in vain
In all my loiterings on thy plains, O Mother Care
I now see the gifts of griefs I have to bear
Give me hope in one Almighty I can trust
Not to reason, only doing thy will I must
That I may come home to write my story
Around a fireplace to tell all its history
What I have seen, learned or knew,
Willingly to be buried, reborn in you
POVERTY drives us to a different shore
With a promise for hope that there is more
Is this a greener pasture, a new found joy?
Not a splendor but a treacherous decoy
Groups cramped in pigeon holes on a stand
Large families packed in a home without a land
Hoisted home up in the sky swiftly built
No warm blankets just share a family quilt
Good Heavens! Greater sorrow newly imposed
Hard labour! Native walks no chance to be proposed
O Fair Land, why hast thou caused us to leave
To this distant shore unknown, far more aggrieved?
Do thou, o sweet Mother, weep in vain
Thine fair tribes now add on to thy pain?
Thine children knock at doors for bread
Chilling bones in hunger desperation led
Good neighbors forced to sell their daughters
Not through any faults of theirs that they should falter
Bless me - why, had we brothers any sister
Our decision would not have been better
Painful to watch sweet little girls in tears
Pretty innocents in their helpless years
I weep as I watch them in their charms
Shaking wildly in their fathers' arms
Grieving mothers kiss their mindless babes
Strike their breasts looking skyward sadly in gapes
I see the fairies and nymphs degraded
In my dreams I see my heaven has faded
These are the hard truth in times of shame
Best to forget, needless to share, no one to blame
In the city their statesmen talk as their ale goes round
Laughing, cheering with haughty looks profound
Such luxury migrants can ill afford
Even simple pleasures dismiss accord
Wealthy men arrive from world around
Suits and hats stunning ladies surround
A wanton wealth designed in tempting display
Painful truth in my mind I mindlessly survey
For I am sickened by this man-made pleasure
Toiling in the distrusting hearts of false leisure
Accumulated wealth stored in pride
Buy a lass to play as an obedient bride
Repossess the cuddly space of the poor
For their horses, hounds and more
Lawful acquisition to rob the timid folks
Stealing their meals of oats and yolks
Dressing up their females well adorned
To reign secured while simple folks mourn
Statesmen to their sons divide the wealth acquired
To their siblings, wives, married relatives
as required.
Beating my chest in sweet memory
recall
In senses with unfailing truth reveal it all
Oh past the plain the surging joy prevail
That which I have loved can never fail
That broken teacups I have taken with me
Stirs my will daily sipping my humble tea
No tales no news from barbers or farmers
It's fine - all return at meals as we gather
No theatre, no ballad, no talent time
Everything comes handy in sublime
Make our own feathered balls and stuff
Marbles rolling, guessing games and bluff
Obscure yet it sinks deep in our souls and hearts
Those simple treasures, everlasting will not part
My vacant mind frolicking in the pond
Caress my soul, my spirit neatly bond
Contented on my stool writing my poetry
Pass my time in imagined peasantry
Raise my native strength for greater gain
Instead of indulging in pitiful afflicted pain
Plant my seeds, pull out the weeds annoy
With compliments from God, my daily joy.

here's everything i've wrote so far for my latest fic:
(cut cause this is l o n g)
Look, I don’t even know how I got into this mess. I had just gotten home with Phantom, my dragon, from our on-going battle with the pillagers. One of Phantom’s wings had a small hole in it because of an arrow. So I went inside to grab some herbs and cobwebs. While inside though, I heard wings flapping. I knew it wasn’t Phantom, because it sounded like the dragon was inexperienced at flying. Then I heard someone scream.
“SHADE, CLAM DOWN!” I heard someone shout. I looked out to see what was happening. There was an Ender Dragon, I knew that because of the shiny black scales, and they were…doing something. What it was, I can’t say, but Shade, the dragon I would think, was freaking out. Oh wait, they must be scared of Phantom. Shade seemed to be a fairly young adult. The rider had her arms wrapped around Shad’s neck, fear completely filled her eyes. Next thing I knew, I was running at the dragon. Because of past experiences with Phantom, I knew what to do.
“SHADE!”
Shade slowed down a bit, so that they could stare at me with their piercing green eyes. Wait, green? Ender Dragons don’t have green, but this one does I guess. I realized that they might respond differently because of the different species. So I decided to do the only thing I could think of. No dragon can resist steak, right? Sure enough, the dragon was hungrily staring at the steak in my hand. I threw the steak so that Shade could go get it. Luckily, the rider had the sense to get off before Shade ran off. She smiled as she walked up to me. I noticed that she had a few bruises. “Thank you for helping me there, Shade can get a bit wild sometimes, but usually not this bad.” she told me. “Hey, it's fine, I helped because I’ve been in that same situation when Phantom was younger. I understand.”  “Hey, what’s your name? Mine’s Blue.” “Cricket.”
I then noticed a weird spot on Blue’s wrist. It looked kinda golden. “Hey, what’s that on your wrist?” She looked at it then looked at me. “Oh, it’s just a birthmark, my sister also has it.” I looked at the sky. Oh no…why now? “We should get inside Blue.”  “How come?” Red began to bleed into the sky above us. Shade saw the red moon rising and growled in distress. “There’s a blood moon happening Blue.” She then freaked out and ran to the entrance of my home. “Come on!” she shouted to me. “Blue, this is like, my sixth blood moon, at least. I’ll be fine. You just hide in there, ok?” She gave me a worried look but nodded.
The moon was now setting. The zombies didn’t run though, they continued to fight. So I just went to the water. I was honestly feeling overwhelmed. But I didn’t know why. Was there even an answer as to why? “Cricket?” I turned my head just so I could see Blue, standing next to Phantom. “Why are you flouting there?” “‘Cause I can.” She sighed.
A few weeks passed like normal, you know, getting myself (almost) killed a few times, Blue having to rescue me a few times, me totally not being gay for Blue, why would anyone think that?
NICE JOB!!👏👏👏
That’s a really strong opening scene, it really gets you right into the action! I love how you dropped so many clues and info about how this world works. The nods to WoF and Minecraft are awesome too, I’m so excited to see what happens next!! I also really like how Phantom and Shade are both like, ghosty names and so they match. Maybe that also represents the fact that Blicket are usually dragons so it’s like their spirits or something?? And Cricket is soooooooo in love with Blue already ilufitiluvitsomucheaeaeaehhhgggg😍 heheheeeheee #meanttobe #luvthem
I don’t know if we were mutuals when I posted it, but a while back I made an offer to proofread/edit things for free as practice. (The best thing about it is that I get to read things before they’re released to the public lol) If you’d ever like me to go over and offer feedback/proofing on some of your work, I’d be happy to!😁 Since you already show me previews/teasers of what you’re working on, I thought I’d offer something in return for it!
