I fucking love Libby so much. ADHD makes it hard to make Going To The Library a regular routine (hard to remember to return books on time, hard to remember to just Go and Browse), and poverty makes it impossible to collect and read everything I want.

Thank you! I will definitely be taking care of my health, I appreciate the sentiment! I really don't generally like giving recommendations because I always feel bad knowing I can't just recommend everyone, but I'll just give a few below in no particular order!

@0cta9on - I recently read a couple of their fluffy stories, they're short and incredibly cute! They write such adorable scenes that I've been taking some notes on! I loved the Chaewon short especially!

@prael - Currently doing a Kinktember challenge, so they are uploading a new fic every single day this month! I enjoyed day 3 and can't wait to read day 7! I still have a lot of catching up to do myself.

@writerpeach - I hope this doesn't end up putting any pressure on them, but I know they're currently working on a fic that I'm very excited to read! If you haven't already, check out some of their fics, I'm going to recommend Initial D'ed, I recently reread it for like the third time!

Harry Potter x Shark-Like Male Reader Scenarios

A/N: Thank you so much for the request! I’ll admit, it was pretty tough to write this, but I hope it’s alright! Also sorry that it took so long, I’ve been a little busy recently. This is just a few short scenarios put together, I haven't written stuff in this layout before so I hope it’s okay. I just reread the request and omg I forgot to add the fluff.😭

Small mentions of blood! Nothing gorey, just a bit of bleeding.

Harry's POV:

It was quite normal to see students with extra limbs, animal parts and inhuman features, but usually it was the effect of a spell or potion. So one boy really threw me off, I hadn't seen him around before he introduced himself to me. I thought the gills or the webbed fingers were just a result of something he took. 

But after seeing him around a few more times, I noticed that they hadn’t gone away. I had never seen him without those fish-like features. I’ve seen a lot but this truly puzzled me. 

I had planned on asking him how he’d had gotten them, or if he was born with them. But I barely knew him, I didn’t want to make him feel uncomfortable, or weird him out with my curiosity.

I was in the Great Hall, eating my dinner when my eyes landed upon the odd boy again. Y/N. I know it’s rude to stare but I couldn’t help it. Once he went to take a bite out of a drumstick, I noticed his incredibly sharp teeth. They savagely ripped through the chicken, cleaning the bone in a matter of seconds, my body shivering at the sight.

That’s when I hear a gasp and a wince. I look back over at the boy, one of his pointy teeth in his right hand, blood slightly dripping from his mouth. The students around him started to worry, he dismissed them, the conversation barley being audible from where I sat.

“Don’t worry, it happens like every other week.”

I watched as his goofy smile grew wider, while he explained to the other students that another tooth would replace it in the matter of a couple days. Wow.

I had gotten closer to Y/N, we hang out pretty often now. I had invited him to hang out around the castle, it being a weekend, neither of us had all that much to do. I saw him walking from one of the halls, noticing him wearing his own clothes opposed to the school robes I was so used to seeing him in.

We greeted each other as he walked up to me, him asking me to lead the way on our ‘little adventure’ around Hogwarts. I chuckle before starting to walk, my steps stumble as my eyes adjust to the back of his clothes though. I thought it was just my eyes playing a trick on me, but once taking a closer look I realised what I had seen.

A small pointy (S/C) fin protruding from the top of his back. “Are you alright, Harry.” I look over to his face, his lips curved in a confused smile, I quickly nod as I catch back up with him. God, what else was he hiding?

Y/N and I were going steady now, we’ve been together for about a month now. I had planned on confessing to him during one of our hangouts, but he beat me to it. But it turned out all the same nevertheless. 

Most nights we hang out, whether it be in our common rooms or around the halls, even outside Hogwarts walls. But tonight he told me to meet him at the Great Lake, telling me had something he wanted to show me. I’d never been a fan of the lake but it wasn’t like there was any harm in going.

So that’s what I was doing now, making my way to the Great Lake. It wasn’t long until I saw Y/N in the distance, sitting just behind the water with his arms wrapped around his legs. His head turns back at the sound of my approaching steps, a bright smile appearing on his face as he greeted me. 

“G’ Evening, Love.” He lifts himself up, dusting the back of his pants before walking towards me. “Evening Y/N.” I smile up at the gushing boy in front of me. “You brought your swimsuit, yeah?” I nod. “Yeah, just like you asked.” I feel my smile widen looking at him, his own being too contagious.

“Alright, alright. Come in with me.” I watch as he pulls off his shirt, his fin slightly getting in the way, before diving into the lake. I follow his actions, making my way to the water as he swims around, waiting for me. 

I swim my way to him, far enough for the lake to be moderately deep before he swims around me, after a couple laps he dives into the water. I look around, waiting for him to pop back up, but he never does. “Y/N?” It had only been about 40 seconds but he must’ve been pretty far enough down, to where I couldn’t see him from outside of the water.

I start to panic at around the minute and a half mark, frantically looking around to see if he came up before sinking into the water. There I see him, smiling as he waves from about 10 metres below me. Bubbles start to escape the gills on his cheeks and that’s when I realise, I bring my head back up, Y/N swimming back to the top at the same time.

“You scared me for a minute there.” I admit as his goofy grin just grows. His arms wrap around me, chuckling as he lets out a "Oops, sorry." I playfully roll my eyes before reaching for his cheek, his head leaning further into the touch.

A/N: I read that shark’s typically lose 1 tooth every week and have it replaced in a day, so I thought I’d add it lol. I haven’t been that motivated as of recently, so I’m sorry if this isn’t written as well as some of my other fics. And sorry for how ooc Harry is oml.  I've also got a couple more requests to get out, so please forgive me if they come out a little late 🤧

also hearth's mom doesn't really seem like much of a good person either? she didn't stop alderman from being abusive towards hearth or the house staff AND she literally just cared about her reputation. maybe she wasn't as bad as her husband but she was still pretty bad (parallels there between hearth and alex)

also parallels between hearth trying to stop alderman from taking andvari's ring and trying to "pull his dad out from a hole deeper than andvari's" and magnus trying to save randolph from falling into the hole in the ground that led to helheim-

the scene at the end of the marriage battle thing when alex is all concerned because she thinks magnus doesn't believe that she was just pretending to be under loki's control and sHE'S TRYING TO CONVINCE HIM AND HE SQUEEZES HER HAND JDFJSFKFK THIS SCENE IS NOT TALKED ABOUT ENOUGH

alex canonically calling magnus "sunshiny" and RESPECTING AND ADMIRING HIM AND HIS HEALING POWERS. they make me weak

samirah and magnus's dynamic is not given enough love. they are figuratively SIBLINGS and that level of closeness is not recognized by the fandom enough

(also not really about the book but. the UK cover of 'hammer of thor' depicts samirah with half of her hair falling out of her hijab. which. who tf designed these covers?? like somebody needs to give them a good throttling)

What kind of powers do vampires have in Paperteath? Or is that too spoilery? Also I just discovered Paperteath and I'm absolutly loving it. It's quickly become one of my favorite webtoons (up there with The Last Dimension and Nevermore). I've reread it at least 3 times so far.

ive made a few posts about this but i cant find them without scrollimg back like 50 pages on my blog & i dont wanna do that 🤧 so ill make a new one and actually tag it this time

so for default powers they dont have that many other than regenerating, nothing can kill them aside from beheading, fire & a wooden stake to the heart, so everything else just heals, like if you chop their arm off or shoot them in the head itll be fine again fairly quickly. as long as its none of those three things (the sun sets them on fire so im counting it as fire but i guess also the sun) (but if u dunk them in water fast enough theyll be okay) theyll recover.

but the way these vampires work is that they kinda evolve/adapt over time to their surroundings! if a vampire is starving consistently over a long period of time theyll get features that make catching and eating people easier like claws more teeth etc- & these traits can be passed down to vampires turned by those vampires so some vampires are a little different than others. some of these things are now present in the majority of vampires like hibernating in winter. when ye olden vampires got too cold (they have no body heat they can only get warmth from other warm stuff. like. human blood. idk.) and froze over in winter one too many times theyll have just started hibernating- (but vampires in places with no cold season rnt affected by that ofc & now that a lot of vampires have heating the sleepiness in winter is just inconvenient. u try take a 10 min nap and wake up months later)

so cool stuff like turning into a bat is usually exclusive to really really old vampires . like. draculas. plural.

so yeah they mostly just have weaknesses which makes up for the very hard to kill thing. theyre scared of garlic. crucifixes & silver burns & they get stuck in a coffin if a rose is on their door. (vampires who were buried in the week between dying and coming back often want to sleep in a coffin but if they werent it doesnt apply)

I could go on for 50 years abt how they work so i will stop!!!

Okay! Hi! So I have something fun to say! I read the anon talking about Karkat being headcanoned as ace. It made me remember the person who runs this blog saying Dave is uncomfortable with sex. I have a narrative reason as to why Dave would be uncomfortable with sex. Two actually! I decided to reread a certain chapter and I realized something. It’s big! The biggest scoop this fandom has ever had!

This me going off about the homestuck epilogue DaveKat scene again and there is some brutal topics covered in here, you’ve been warned. I imagine Dirk was in control of the some of the narrative when Karkat and Dave had sex. I think Dirk had a lot of control over what happened but not all of it. Free will is still a thing. Here is Dirk saying as much! He says he likes using persuasion!

Did you guys catch a certain part of this when reading it? The non stop animalistic fucking part I mean. That’s weird to say about your family. Moving on.

Dave and Karkat don’t really admit that they like each other romantically… seems like they don’t want to. Right that’s what the fandom must have picked up on. It’s hard for them to date because of the Ace/Aro thing. Or. They DONT. They don’t want to date. They never did. They’re forced to. In meat, it looks like Dirk just wants Dave to top this guy.

But wait! they’re not just friends! They are… best… friends? Karkat sounds unsure of what to even say here? He sounds like he doesn’t know where this is going. What he’s even being pushed to say. He said what he meant already. Dave is the one asking him if they are more than friends.

Look. If someone with the powers of a god is compelling them to talk about their feelings and this is the most Karkat can say, it means there is NOTHING ELSE THERE. Dirk is losing his shit here.

Here’s an excuse! “Maybe relationships isn’t a thing Karkat does!” Hold on to that thought Dave! If it makes you feel better about having animalistic sex with a guy! I’ll come up with anything to make you think that.

“HE WANTS IT! YOU WANT IT!” Karkat wants it! You want it too, Dave!

It’s nothing to worry about Dave! You two can do it right here on the couch if you want! Please want that! I mean he loves you so much! See you two are so so so close! He’s going to bust it open for you! Dave he wants it! Dirk wants it. He is excited at the idea of it. Karkat doesn’t seem to care and diving into Karkat’s head to convince him he loves Dave isn’t Dirk’s goal. Karkat falling in love has nothing to do with anything. Why would Dirk even care? Dirk only cares about Dave having sex here. Dirk isn’t really influencing Karkat either, he doesn’t get into his head at all.

I don’t know how much Dave wants Karkat. I’m not able to really discern that. Though I wouldn’t count this as a confession. Dave is drunk! Or at least tipsy. He has someone else chatting in his head. He can even hear hear what Dirk is saying.

Dirk is saying all sorts of things in Dave’s head. Dave is stressed to the point of sweating. What was Dirk going to say before he was cut off? A threat? It sounded like a threat. Is it supposed to be encouraging!? Either is fucked!

The let me do this myself bit reads more like an act of defiance. Let me see if this is right or not, Dirk! Though if you’re under the influence and someone has been fucking with your mind to fill it with what they want for you, do you think that isn’t ABUSE?! Brainwashing? Do you think Dave is being lead to believe Karkat actually wants to date him? I think all of those things are true here.

It all reads like Dave and Karkat are forced together. Like that’s even what the writers are trying to fucking say. It reads like they are spitting on the couple and using them as a narrative tool. Someday in the future they have to address Dirk and Dave’s relationship.

When I read this line it conformed for me something I was certain of before and I’m certain that is what is being said here. I think there is a clear reason as to why it was put into this chapter. What Dirk’s intentions are. Read it and see if you can catch what I’m going to point out.

There it is. This is what the epilogue is going with.

Born again virginity. Dave didn’t have his virginity before he died at 13. Why even bring up a line like that if meant nothing. If was a joke?

Why was Dave willing to pay Dirk respect for killing himself in Candy?

For that matter! Why is Dirk so into Dave topping some guy? Isn’t Dirk a bottom? Why is Dirk so into talking about his son and/or brother having animalistic sex with one of the few male characters left alive? Karkat is someone the fandom would have loved to see Dave end up with since they smiled at each other once in Act 6.

So. Here’s what I want to get at. The to long didn’t read version of what I wrote!

What’s the two narrative reasons Dave doesn’t want to have sex?

1. Dave doesn’t want to have sex with someone if Dirk is just going to come into his head and get off to it.

2. Dave isn’t comfortable with having sex because of unresolved trauma.

What was the scoop? The big scoop that would tear the fans apart?

Karkat and Dave aren’t in love. They never were. Karkat wanted to say he appreciated having someone who put so much faith in him. It meant something to him. He said he feels content with that. He doesn’t have to wonder what is missing.

Karkat is Dave’s best friend. They are close. I love that. I want them to have a normal relationship, but they don’t. And they can’t. Even the running for president plot line was introduced so we could have Dave backing Karkat and giving him support. But that, once again, may have just been the narrative fucking with them, setting them up to have a moment like this. This is the problem with meta fiction. How much of this is the characters? The writers? The gods overseeing them? They have Calliope and Dirk picking at these assassinated characters like vultures. Just like how Calliope had John and Terezi get with each other in his dad’s car. John might have liked her but he was dying in that moment. Narratively, that was setting Terezi up to want to bring him back to life. To think they could be lovers in some way, and maybe they can. I don’t know. How much of that was John being fucked with? This story is a horror story. No one here is happy. Nothing here is good. Nothing is clear.

The one thing I am sure of is that born again virgin line meant something. Dave was holding onto his new founded virginity. Maybe he didn’t even feel comfortable saying he liked men because that is like saying he might have in someway enjoyed what Bro did to him. Maybe he didn’t want to have sex because of a terrible experience he had. Maybe the writers of the new homestuck content will pivot, maybe they will undo all of what is being set up here. But why do that? They like the drama!

I can see them containing with this theme. Dave was molested before homestuck even started. That is what is being said here. Bro molested him. Dirk feels horrible for it. He wants Dave to be the one to decapitate him too, like it’s closure.

The true to long didn’t read is basically this: Dave and Karkat is only canon because it’s forced. The writers are even announcing it! Thanks for the years of us having to listen to people falsely celebrating DaveKat! Now we’re going to just sing our hymns and celebrate their destruction.

That actually makes sense. It is fucked up if all along that Ult Dirk and by extension Hussie, WhatPumpkin, James Roach, HICU, and the fanbase itself, are forcing the two without their consent and they can't escape it.

It was so obvious from the start and yet people accepted it for what it was. This kissing in the laundry scene now gives a different meaning now that these boys did not actually want this but are forced to anyway without their say.

I feel a lot of people downplay just how rude and disrespectful Dally is. He's my favorite character but I've now realized just how horrible he is. The movie def made him a better person. Like jumping children??? What joy is found there??? He has good traits though, that's just not really shown to strangers. He's still my favorite character though, he's tragic. Just pointing out his negatives.

I feel kinda bad for Sandy because Soda was constantly flirting with other girls or saying dirty things abt them. Like I understand "They're greasers, it's what they do!" and "it didn't mean anything to him!" But like, people hate so much on Sandy, I'm not justifying her cheating that was not good, but I understand if she was insecure

Cherry should have punched Dally hard enough to knock him out. Though she would prob be jumped later, if that wouldn't happen she should've decked him

I like Cherry's character a bit more, she's a little more interesting. I didn't pay attention much the first read to all the details and the movie kind of made her boring. Like it's missing several of her good lines.

Steve was really beefing with Pony, and it was real one-sided. Pony was really like "I thought he was pretty ok since he's sodas bestie, but he sure don't like me." Probably a case of unreliable narrator

I like Sodapop a lot more because the book really showcases both his good and bad traits. A lot of posts on here have turned him into a sort of, he's a perfect little innocent man. I understand some people are joking but it can be a little ooc.

I like that Darry goes skiing, glad he has some sort of activity he can enjoy :)

This is based off this ask, as I was rereading some of my stuff and realized that I never wrote a proper fic for it. So this is the DA x Anti that I think people didn't know they needed. Also hi, this got me around my creative block.

One hundred and twenty years of rage, all built up inside your soul until there’s nothing left but the void that you were plunged into. The heartbreak of seeing the man that you loved cast you away in a fit of anger. Of watching your close friends die over and over, seeing an empty house that once felt so lively, now abandoned. Had you been able to, you would have lashed out at anyone who even reminded you of that horrid night, of you just trying to fix everything, clean up after those boys like you always did. But it never worked. You could never fix a marriage, fix infidelity, fix a workaholic.

But when he pulled you out of that mirror? The first being to notice you being there, you felt seen for the first time. Bonding over a shared hatred and laughing over revenge tactics. He brought you into a digital world that you never would have thought to have existed. Held your hand gently despite his personality being a little rough around the edges. He’s soft with you, holding you like you’re still as fragile as that mirror. More times that you would like to admit, you’ve cried into his chest. The pain resurfacing and there simply isn’t enough anger to force it back down again.

“It’s okay, we’ll stay ‘ere fer a bit. T’ere’s no rush…”

His claws lightly scratching your skin is a comfort you’ve come to enjoy, something he does along your spine as he attempts to ground you. The hum of his heart under your ear is a white noise that helps drown out the memories that force you to remember them. Nothing has been said yet, but you know that he cares. More than anyone else ever has. And maybe you joined forces for the wrong reasons, but you’ve stayed for the right ones.

“Can ye drink some water? Stop t’e tears?”

He carefully wiped away your tears from your eye with his thumb as you look up at him, his other hand continuing the soothing scratches. A cup is handed to you when you nod, assisting you in taking sips through the straw. You can tell he’s antsy to hold you properly again, but he’s trying. Over the few months you’ve been out, you’ve both been learning about human emotions. You feel so detached from your former self, the district attorney you were, that it just doesn’t make you feel human anymore. So he started to learn with you. And no, it hasn’t all been easy sailing, but having feelings again, being able to smile at him, it gives a sense of relief.

“Are we better now…?”

“Yes, Anti, I’m doing better now.”

“Good.”

He flops back, bringing you onto his chest as he tries to lull you into cuddles. It’s adorable, especially when you get him to giggle and he shines his fangs at you, or purr at scratches to his scruff. He’s a little clingy, but you don’t mind having the constant contact. You rationalize it as being touch starved for over a century, as you desperately try to shove your crush back into the back closet of your mind.

“Y’know, I don’t know what I’d do wit’out ye. Was alone fer so long t’at now wit’ ye ‘ere, I don’t want t’ go back t’ before…”

“…I don’t think I want to go back to before either. It was cold, and hard, and unforgiving. You’re… just not. You’re not very warm temperature wise, but you laugh, and smile. A little sharp, but you’re gentle with me. And I can’t express how much I appreciate you being patient with me as I learn to be a person again…”

There’s a very brief moment before he squeezes you close to his chest, and you hear a little sniffle.

“I know I’m not t’e brightest lad, but I like ye. I like ye a lot. An’ I know t’at fer sure. And I want ye t’ stay, please.”

“I like you too. And I don’t want to go anywhere you’re not.”

You lift your head off his chest and catch his eyes welled with tears, ones he tries to hide as you look at him. But you cup his face, wiping his tears as you hold his cheeks so gently.

“Anti, I’m not leaving. I promise.”

“T’en I promise t’ not leave eit’er.”

Inches away from his face, your eyes wander to his lips, and you press a very brief kiss to them. He squeezes you tighter and holds you close to him, the hum of his heart louder.

“Can we do t’at again? Maybe?”

“Of course, as much as you want.”

He smiles at you, his fangs glistening at you the way that you’ve only seen when it’s a genuine smile. A smile for you. He lifts his head up to meet your lips, his ears wiggling out of excitement as you both pull away. Blush covers your cheeks but the sadness is gone. He’s giggling quietly, and you feel him kicking his feet a little.

“I like t’at~”

“I like you~”

He looks at you, lovestruck. It’s still too soon, you need more time to stop being in denial about it. But you know you love him. And you know that he loves you too.

Just started yet another reread of Inimitable Verse by deniigiq and I fully plan on rereading their into the multiverse series which occasionally crosses over also - this is a Spider-Man/team red focused series, think comics canon infused early mcu-spidey since only homecoming had come out for a non substantial amount of time they were working on the series and the daredevil stuff is explicitly tv show AND comics. Also the multiverse series is how I got into Murderdock and therefore how I got into Spider Gwen

Unpretty's Sorrowful And Immaculate Hearts series which is just a loosely interconnected series of DC fics. My personal favorites are Empty Graves, in which Martha Kent keeps killing time travelers trying to kill baby! Clark; any of their clois fics but especially Third Wheel; and Anti-Social, which is a social media fic mostly about Tim and Bruce that made me cry laughing. Catch Bruce trying to get Walmart's employees to unionize. Also shout out to unpretty's only fic with Jason in it, it looks awesome but is tragically incomplete

This particular Reverse Robin AU which put in the work to reverse every single younger generation and is chef's kiss I LOVE this version of Tim he's wild

Both of Shoalsea's fics are in constant rotation for me I talk about Into The Brighter Night all the time in the tags of reblogs and stuff it truly lives in my head rent free. Anyway Tim gets kidnapped by aliens and the batfam have to watch as yj98 saves him and it's angsty and funny and such a good take on what could have been if the new 52 hadn't happened. And Compassion Builds No House is about Tim and Pru from Red Robin. Ugh they're both so good

Speaking of Clois (I did you've just forgotten this by now) brilliant (like a confession) by kathkin (penny-anna on the hellsite) is so fucking good I'm. Okay. Anyway it'll be listed as inspiration if/when I finally post my two person love triangle fic for them

I'm too anxious to catch up on this before it's done but jumble sale chic is hands down the best spideydevil fic series despite and because of the omegaverse

Make A Little Birdhouse In Your Soul is my favorite take on Jason, period, and has a lot of fantastic Damian stuff going on too. It's updating every few weeks still! Sometimes more often! I love you bacondoughnut it's me JustGail the person who will not stop commenting on your fic you're stuck with me forever

I lied above Rumspringa Murderdock is what got me into Murderdock but that series is second place. I found this one while scrolling through the tv show's mattfoggy tag, thinking I was safe

Speaking of Murderdock mattfoggy, The Lawyer All the Wickedness was written early on in spider-gwen's history and so diverges from canon really early in ways that I think are super interesting and creative

Oh also straight on 'til morning by merils (Tumblr url mamawasatesttube) does SUCH a great job unpacking Kon's trauma and building up healthy relationships around him including a budding timkon romance and yeah it makes me sad and happy at the same time

I feel like I've already recommended every JayRoy fic by poisonivory and genuinely I do reread them all, sometimes in order of publication if I'm in a particular mood. Maybe the one I've read most though is I've Got the Feeling You're the Right Thing After All which is about Roy and Jason starting a fwb thing while Roy still harbors old feelings for Dick. Can't see anything going wrong here lmao
