So I recently just got into Miles x Mikey (Shellshocked my beloved) and I just can’t help but to imagine Mikey getting ahold of a cloaking brooch and meeting Miles’ parents for the first time.

I HAVE ANOTHER IDEA FOR AN AU
But this one is a little bit deranged.
AU where only Donatello and Karai are raised by Splinter and the rest (Leonardo, Raphael and Michelangelo) were raised by the Shredder. (Or vice versa idk which would be funnier)
It's stupid, I KNOW— but wdnsixjsks—
Just imagine the lone turtle being raised by the opposite side of the other three, accompanied with just as fierce + overprotective older sister who'd drop kick anyone who ever attempt to claim the title as 'Donatello's older sibling'.
Donnie'd be so confused to suddenly have a group of the same species as him suddenly thrusted into his life after spending years of beliving he's the only one— and oh look they're now claiming him to be their brother, how neat.
Karai is NOT happy because that's HER little brother and they have to pry him out of her cold, dead hands.
Leo and Raph would be, "You're our master's daughter and that's OUR little brother", to which Karai would be, ">:0".
Cue to Mikey and Donnie arguing who is older.
I'm not sure about you, but I am also a sucker for (over)protective Mikey. It's a neat concept, one that hasn't been explored much by the fandom— but arhwidnsidnsi.
I just love the purple genius, okay?
This AU is purely crack and self-indulgent at this point hahah.
-Ellestrade
Donnie didn’t consider himself to be a bad son, per say.
Sensei always had a list of rules to keep him safe. Never go down to the ground floor unless the dojo was closed for the day. Never open the curtains because he might be glimpsed. Never go out into the yard unless he got permission or had one of them with him.
And never, under any circumstances, was he to enter New York City.
Sensei was always very careful when it came to his safety. It’s the whole reason that he found a place outside the city for him to grow up, miles away from people, but close enough to the city that Miwa could visit to terrorize socialize whenever she feels cooped up.
Donnie’s never had that luxury, but now he was fifteen.
Fifteen was practically driving age. Fifteen is old enough to be in a high school and get invited to parties that sounded unsafe and rent adult movies behind parents backs and get to buy things at stores or check out books at the library!
He’s definitely responsible enough to borrow some books on his own.
Fifteen is also the perfect age for sneaking out and breaking rules.
It’s not really his fault. It’s the hormone and teenage ritual stuff. He couldn’t help it, probably. That’s what Miwa always says. Sensei buys it sometimes. He goes easy on her. So when Donnie wakes up to a carpeted floor and a splitting migraine, he knows he’s been caught and he’ll need every reasonable excuse that he can get his hands on.
It’s his birthday, anyway. Sensei can’t be too mad.
There are muffled voices around him as he lifts his head, immediately regretting it when pain spikes from his skull and scatters across his forehead. He clutches at his skull, groaning miserably. He’s never had an all-nighter migraine this intense before.
He supposes that this is what Miwa would call a personal problem as remains on the ground, forcing his eyes open to get a read on the situation. He expects to see his father hovering as Miwa goads him into a punishment because the consequences of his actions was never enough for her.
Somehow, his father usually ends up letting him off the hook instead. A perk of being an extinct species that can never see the light of day, he supposes, is endless sympathy points.
Donnie’s greeted with three shells, four blinding overhead lights, five individual weapons, and six eyes, all balanced out by a truckload of confusion. He stares, blinking sluggishly, as one of the turtles announces, “Well, he’s not dead.”
And just like that, this has officially slotted itself to be the weirdest dream Donnie has ever had.
DON’T LOOK AT ME LIKE THAT I HAD TOO-
So anyway, feel free to assume that he’s in pain and kidnapped for any number of reasons because I have about twelve different ideas and they are all equal GREAT for the crack AU atmosphere that is in development in my brain.
I’m just imaging a backstory where Shredder fought the Kraang (cause he was hangry or something, who knows) and the turtles (sitting abandoned in the alley, maybe?) are corrupt with mutagen.
Absolutely dumbfounded but not stupid enough to leave the little freaks of nature behind, he (still human) snatches three of them, accidentally leaving one behind.
Hours/days later, Toddler Miwa hear Donnie crying, barely alive and all alone. Obviously, dad and daughter care for him.
Shredder and Yoshi are still human, but neither is on guard for the other. They both think the other remains in Japan.
Their sons don’t grow up hating each other’s guts. They are both trying to leave their past behind. Yoshi is raising his family. Shredder is growing his empire.
So Donnie didn’t grow up knowing he had other brothers because no one knew they existed. Ergo, I imagine Donnie would be confused at first, but after fifteen years thinking that he’s alone in the universe, he’s eager to learn everything about these three fellow turtle mutants in ninja gear. He’s a bit perturbed about the fact that they keep making excuses to keep him from leaving, but he’s not to concerned about it. He has brothers! How neat is that?
And since it’s a crack AU, it would be absolutely hilarious if Donnie seems like this naive, learned soul, who cannot social in the slightest- but the second that the need calls for it, he knows how to use several different type of weapons and can take all the brother down single-handedly. He had fifteen years of no brotherly distractions and a sister who takes training very seriously. Why wouldn’t he?
It’s why he’s not concerned with technically being held hostage. He’s reasonably certain that he can take them. And he proves it when Karai finds him and tries to take him home, only for the brothers attempt to stop him from leaving.
Of course, he always feels bad about his supremely awesome and instinctive skills. He prefers his studies.
No, but your “pry him out of her cold, dead hands” comment made me think that she’d need a reason to feel threatened. If they bond before she finds him, Donnie will begin looking at his older brothers (yes, even Mikey, who adores being able to feel in charge of someone) like, well, eldest brothers, and Karai will sense the change.
And, obvs, be completely and utterly ticked off by it.
Donnie’s spent his entire life admiring her and everything that she does- how DARE she have to share his attention with these three random strangers that literally kidnapped him?!
And his older brothers will all immediately decide that this lost child is theirs’ for one reason or another. And obviously, the safest thing to do when you find a stray mutant like you is to take it home and give it care. Heck, if it turns out to be your brother, even better!
HAPPY FIFTEENTH BIRTHDAY! YOU BELONG TO A GROUP OF NINJA TURTLES NOW, ADOPTED LIKE A LOST CAT! CONGRATS!

i’ve got my eye on you

x
“Mikey?” Donnie says, hovering in the doorway uncertainly. “Can I talk to you?”
Mikey looks up from the dough he’s kneading with round eyes, more bewildered than anything. No one ever asks if they can talk to Mikey. His presence in his family’s lives is like sunlight falling on the planet, warm and touching everything and taken for granted. They can always talk to Mikey.
So Don’s question is a weird one, but Mikey doesn’t mention it.
“Pull up some counter, Dee,” he offers instead, patting at the one square foot of the surface that isn’t covered in flour. His fingers leave little clouds behind. “I’m almost done.”
Donnie props his hip against the island and leans there to watch his little brother work. Mikey’s ADHD is textbook in a lot of ways, unpredictable in many others; it’s definitely been a fun learning curve for his family. Don did a lot of research. He’s read that generally people with Mikey’s disorder tend to struggle with tasks like cooking, that it can be an outright Herculean task remembering to eat or even just mustering the energy to feed themselves.
But Mikey loves his kitchen. He gravitates towards it in all his different moods. It gives his pinballing thoughts and restless hands something constructive to focus on with a clear and present reward at the end.
Right now he seems pleased with the dough and gathers it up in a neat little ball before transferring it to a greased mixing bowl and covering it tightly with plastic wrap. When the bowl has been safely stored in the fridge to proof, Donnie joins Mikey in wiping down the counter, mostly for something to do with his hands.
Something’s baking in the oven. Music is playing on Mikey’s phone across the room, acoustic and downbeat and soothing. This room is where everyone in their entire extended family comes to feel safe, even if they don’t know or won’t admit it.
“So listen,” Don finally says. “About earlier. During the race?”
A grin splits Mikey’s face, likely remembering all the fun he had. They’d been looking forward to the ninja race for weeks, ever since Leo first floated the idea.
Leo has come a long way as sensei. It was hard at first, finding his feet, acclimating to this additional burden piled on top of all the ones he already had to carry, but maybe not as hard as it should have been. Leo has always been more of a second parent than a sibling to the rest of them. He’s always been the one they ran to first, even when Splinter was alive; the boy who had to grow up too fast, the one who tried his dad’s oversized jacket on over and over through the years until one day he was surprised to find he had outgrown it.
All this to say—Leo can always tell when his little siblings and pseudo-siblings are due for a break. He poured hours into planning this event, all for his tiny clan of six, and it really showed. The race was part relay, part scavenger hunt, stretching for miles back and forth across Manhattan.
They drew cards out of a bucket to decide pairs, divvying up into three teams of two. When Casey drew the card that matched Mikey’s, he lit up with a manic grin and whipped his head around, a reaction Donnie wasn’t expecting.
“Oh hell yeah!” the human whooped, lifting both hands over his head for a double high-five. “We’re gonna make this night our bitch!”
“Language!” Leo barked, scandalized, like they each hadn’t already heard—and said—a lot worse.
Mikey, for his part, slapped his palms against Casey’s, giggling madly. Donnie looked between the two of them with a frown forming on his face. He had the distinct feeling that he missed something. They all tended to live out of each other’s pockets anymore, trauma-bonding at its worst. Its best? Whatever. If Mikey and Casey were buddies, Donnie would know.
They were both adrenaline junkies, sure. They both liked going fast, living on the edge. As a ninja clan, that was sort of the norm anyway.
But Mikey in particular could outrun anyone in his family any day of the week. Nothing moved fast enough for him. They tried to keep up with him, but sometimes he got too far ahead. He wanted to walk on his hands to feel the grit of asphalt on his palms and the blood rush to his head, or spin in circles in front of the stove while the water boiled, or cartwheel during katas because morning meditation ran too long and his full quota of focus was all used up.
Understimulated, touch-starved, eager for attention, desperate for—something.
Donnie just didn’t realize how desperate until he and Leo crossed paths with Casey and Mikey halfway through the race. From the rooftop, Donnie could see that the token the other boys were gunning for was on the opposite side of the BQE—across five lanes, up on the massive signage structure towering above the expressway. They were on the wrong side when they spotted it.
Smugly, Donnie thought, Tough luck—they’ll have to find a way around. That’s gonna cost them some time.
And then Mikey flew over the guardrail, sprinting straight out into traffic.
Donnie’s heart jumped up into his throat and stayed there.
He was rooted to the spot, like someone watching a train barrel down the tracks toward an inevitable collision. His body forgot how to breathe.
It took his little brother all of fifty seconds to dodge box trucks and SUVs like it was a children’s game, to a chorus of blaring horns from drivers that did not slow down. An eighteen-wheeler missed him by a foot.
Mikey scaled the structure, retrieved the token, and shoved it into the pocket of his over-sized hoodie. Then he waved both arms back at Casey, and pointed down at the guardrail immediately behind him, clearly indicating that they should regroup underneath the overpass. They both disappeared from view on their respective sides of the freeway, off to the next leg of the scavenger hunt.
Don just stood there numbly watching cars go by until Leo doubled back for him.
Raphael and April won the race by all of four minutes—and with it bragging rights to last the next two months, unfortunately for everyone else—but Mikey was in high spirits the whole way home anyway, bouncing with every step. Their brothers must have assumed it was those endorphins from a full night of high-speed play doing their job.
Leo rubbed the top of Mikey’s head with his knuckles fondly, and Raph said something like, “God, you just don’t slow down, do ya?” because they had no idea. They didn’t see it.
Donnie trailed silently at the back of the group, heart pounding so hard he could feel it in his throat, his eyes, his hands. He couldn’t tear his eyes away from Mikey, afraid of what might happen if he let his guard down for even a second, replaying that scene on the expressway over and over and over. It took him hours to muster the courage to finally approach his baby brother in the kitchen.
And now they’re standing here together, and Mikey is humming under his breath, hands beginning to tap restlessly on the countertop. Donnie’s going to lose him in a matter of minutes. Trying to think of a delicate way to say it is getting him nowhere. He takes a page out of Raph’s book and just barrels in.
“I saw you run across the BQE for a token,” he blurts.
Mike tilts his head the way Icky does when she hears something she doesn’t understand. On one hand, he doesn’t deny he did it. On the other, more alarming hand, he also looks blatantly confused about why Donnie thinks it’s worth a discussion.
“We had to get the tokens to win,” Mikey points out, like Don isn’t the one who helped Leo with the rules and regulations.
Clenching his fists, and then folding his arms so Mikey can’t see his fists are clenched, Donnie says, “You wanted to win that bad, Mike?”
He can’t stop seeing the speeding cars; the smear of headlights in the dark; Mikey weaving his way across the lanes, his figure tiny and almost indistinguishable from the rooftop where Don was watching.
Donnie’s remarkable imagination provided the additional details: the way displaced air would have sucked at Mikey’s clothes at each near miss. The sting of the hot asphalt under his feet. The passing lights lighting up his face in fits and bursts, for seconds at a time, and maybe something distracted him—maybe there was a piece of glass or metal on the road and it cut him or he tripped—maybe a reckless driver merged lanes without warning—maybe, maybe, maybe one of a hundred things happened and Mikey was captured or crippled or killed, ripped away from his family because of a stupid, needless risk he took during a game.
They’ve been dragged through war, outer space, time travel. They’ve all been hurt before, in big ways and small ones. It's just. It’s different this time, because it was a game.
Maybe Donnie should be angry at Casey for enabling this behavior. Casey may not be their brother by blood but he’s their brother by every other known metric science has to offer and he should have dragged Mikey off the expressway by the hood of his stupid pink sweatshirt and lit into him for being so reckless the way Leo, April, Raph and Donnie all would have.
But Casey has his own reasons for doing what he does—a dead mom, an alcoholic father, a little sister CPS took away—and if he were a regular, neurotypical, well-adjusted teenager, he never would have put on his painted mask in the first place. He never would have fallen into Donnie’s family.
Casey would have been the one to run into traffic if Mikey hadn't beaten him to it.
Like recognizes like. That’s why they were thrilled to be on each other’s team. They’re both chasing something. They both have too much going on inside their heads to ever just be still.
And Mikey is always all smiles, always the first to offer his siblings a hug or a shoulder to lean on or a safe place to hide from the rest of the world and something sweet to eat in the meantime. Mikey, who hasn’t cried in front of his brothers once since the night their father died, who hasn’t come into Donnie’s lab after a nightmare in even longer than that. He smiles and plays and supports everyone and gives them reasons to run and shout and vent frustrations and groan in exasperation and laugh until they get sick.
No one has to ask the sun to shine, it just does that. And it will until it runs out of fuel, some five billion years from now. The star death was always going to be inevitable. Constant output, finite resources. Nuclear fusion that will hopefully last for as long as it needs to, but not forever.
The sun will get tired one day, and then it’s not going to shine anymore.
“Dee?” Mikey says loudly, in a tone that makes it sound like he’s been saying it over and over. Donnie blinks and he’s back in the kitchen, and Mikey is in front of him, more than a bit confused, more than a bit worried, but here and safe and whole.
Not even a scratch. If Don hadn’t seen it, he never would have known it happened.
He unfolds his arms and opens them. He doesn’t need to say anything for his little twin to spring forward, their plastrons colliding with a solid knock that would have winded a human person. The counters are clean but Mikey is still covered in flour and so Don is covered in flour now, too, and it’s wafting to the floor in tiny cloudbursts every time they move.
It’s the kind of mess Splinter would have made them stop and clean up. But it’s not hurting anything to let the kitchen be a little messy. And it’s Mikey’s kitchen. It’s the one place in the world where what he says goes.
He winds his smaller arms around Donnie’s shell and squeezes as tight as he can. Smushes his cheek against Don’s shoulder because he isn’t tall enough to hook his chin over it the way he’d probably like to. He’s warm and he smells like butter and baked bread and summer and boy. He’s survived every single thing he’s ever done.
Donnie closes his eyes and tries to replace the lights he can still see on the freeway with the ones here at home.
“Can I be on your team next time?” he says.
“Hell yeah, let’s do it,” Mikey agrees instantly. His voice is shaped so much like a toothy grin that Don can see it without looking. Mike doesn’t even know why he’s promising it, just that Donnie needs him to. “We’ll do a clean sweep, nobody’ll know what hit ‘em. B Team’s the Best Team, baby!”
He’s everything warm and light and safe about Donnie’s whole world, and he doesn’t seem to understand how dark every day would be without him. He doesn’t know what he would be taking from his family if he took himself away.
Donatello’s other siblings are self-destructive in obvious ways. Michelangelo, who is loud and obnoxious and has never known a secret he could keep for longer than a day, is somehow more subtle about it.
But now Donnie sees it. He knows what to look for.

Watched the movie today and all I could think about was this. (So spoilers but I’ll try to keep it vague)
Miguel seems to be looking for someone to blame. Someone he can take out and kill to make him finally feel like this wasn’t because of him. Some thing. Anything. To make him feel deserving again. He needs to take out all of these non canon things and people, to fix everything to make him feel better. Miles just happened to me the next thing on his list. Idk maybe I’m over analyzing. Sry about rambling your really cool. Hopefully this doesn’t sound out of character
ALSO I LOVE YOUR ART OF HIM and Mikey. I wanted to tell you cause I wanted to know your ideas and opinions (and your just cool so yeah) I’m rambling again..anyway byeeee
AA THANK YOU SM 🥰 AND NO NO WAIT. YOURE SO RIGHT I LOVE WHEN PEOPLE ANALYZE MIGUEL AS A CHARACTER BECAUSE HES SOO INTERESTING.
talking more abt him under the read more (spoilers!)
I think so too!!! Miguel is definitely Extremely guilt ridden by making a whole universe get destroyed because of him (also adding a parent grief depression to the mix). And we can totally see how he actually gets out of his way completely to help by the sheer fact that Miguel is the one who created the spidey society in the first place. He does that out of sheer guilt.
Miguel doesn't want anyone going through what he went trough if he can help it, because he Knows what someone would live trough if they are the sole reason a whole universe perishes because of them. And that's where the problem arises.
The problem is that everyone in there, Miguel included, have all grown emotionally numb to their own trauma and grief.
After seeing the pattern of All spideys losing someone beloved and important over and over and over again countless of times it just kind of makes it seem like that's something that Has to happen. Right?
So until then (before Miles appears where he shouldn't be) everything as it is works, because Miguel hasn't actually met with anyone that came close to what he did. He might be aware of other universes being in jeopardy and maybe even disappear completely but he's still disconnected from it because he decides which problems to intervene.
Until Miles appears out of nowhere in front of him. And I just Know he literally saw himself in Miles. He saw Miles being determined to stop how things Should go. He's seeing himself being selfish again right in front of him. So he decides to take it all out on Miles. All the blame and guilt and grief he feels about himself and how unfair it all is, he took it all out on Miles and blamed him for it.
Because there's truly no one else to blame but himself, but I think he's aware of that. And he doesn't want to forgive himself. at least not yet?

You know if Tangled with a hard watch for a
Usagi, because of the lantern scene reminding him of him being alone in the festival. after the events of chapter 15 I think that's going to be a hard watch for him, too many bad memories
A bit of spoilers for chapter 15 of TWOFFF
Tangled (while it is one of my favorite Disney princess movies) is a rough watch for Usagi.
At first it’s a fun adventure. He can see why people like the movie. Rapunzel is optimistic and Flynn’s character growth is excellent. He can see why they make a good couple. The animation is fun and while he’s still not used to all the singing he can see the appeal. He lives around Leo and his brothers they sing a lot (plus Jupiter Jim has musical numbers he’s experienced this before)
In the beginning of the movie when they talk about the lanterns it does remind him of the yoake festival but it’s a passing thought. Something he’s excited to have a connection to.
Then they get to the actual lantern scene and he’s watching Eugene and Rapunzel having this magical moment surrounded by paper lanterns as they sing ‘I see the light.’ And he aches. He and Leo didn’t get that moment. Yes it’s because Leo got pulled back to his family. Which is way better then some of the alternatives Usagi thought off. (Being dragged back to the Krang) but it still sucks that their romantic moment was taken from them. That the moment of Usagi’s triumph, of the tournament he won, where he fought in Leo’s honor, the moment of celebration was taken.
He’s glad Leo was safe. Knowing what he knows now about Hikiji his world wasn’t as safe for Leo as he had believed at the time. But seeing what he incisions for them playing out in the screen does make his heart hurt.
And then the lovers are separated by a misunderstanding and manipulation. It’s not the same and yet so similar.
He can feel his dread building. As Eugene gets rescued, as Rapunzel stands up for herself, he knows it’s going to be bad.
He isn’t expecting Eugene to get stabbed. And he knows Eugene’s going to sacrifice himself for Rapunzel.
He can feel Leo going stiff beside him and the room go dead quite. The Hamato’s have all scene the move before but everyone in the room is putting the pieces together it real time and no one is okay.
And of course it’s Rapunzel’s love that saves Eugene in the end.
All in all it’s uncomfortably familiar to everyone.
Not enough for a panic attack or anything but enough that Leo and Usagi are curled against each other by the end of the movie. Enough that the others have squeezed in close to them. Enough that they have to put on another move rather then go to bed because no one wants to be alone with their thoughts right now. (Really hope they don’t put on something like big hero six next) most likely they put in a comedy something pointless that they can all chuckle at. Though I doubt Usagi or Leo will be laughing the rest of the night.
One day I think he might love the movie. It’s so similar yet different from their own story. Maybe after a while when the wounds aren’t so fresh and they’ve had time to process it. He might really like it.
Maybe it’s Sakura and Ume’s favorite. They’ve been to the yoake festival so the paper lanterns are familiar and dazzling. They e also heard child friendly versions of their parents story. They can see the parallels.
I think Mikey or maybe Lisa puts the movie one when they are watching the kids. Lisa wasn’t there, she’s heard the story but again who would make that connection. And Mikey probably just put in Disney plus with the kids and the movie popped up. Enough times passed, Leo and Usagi aren’t there it should be fine.
Except kids get hyper fixated on things and the girls want to watch it all the time.
I think eventually it gets to the point where Leo and Usagi are comfortable watching it with their kids. It’s a mile stone of healing. So much so that maybe when their alone Usagi will him the tune to ‘I see the light’ (he has always liked the song and he hears it at least once a day now) and Leo will sing and it’s peaceful.

You've been too productive lately, the wait between the next chapters is going to be hard to bear ahah !
Now, what can I say, except THIS SUSPENSE 😱 ????!!!! You're spending too much time writing Rindu, you're becoming as sadistic as him.
Anyway, a little review because I'm trying to control myself for once, lol.
Firstly, I'm quite impressed that Rin makes phone calls in Yasuko's presence, bonten is so covered that he can afford it. It makes me feel a little sad for her, a million miles away from thinking that her wonderful lover is importing drugs. I still can't wait for her to learn the truth, even though I know she might suffer.
Also, I noticed that Yasuko and Reader from FHMTH both have a few daddy and mommy issues, if they didn't, would things be different ? Would Yasuko be dating older men ? And Reader... do we really need to elaborate on the fact that you have to have a little problem to fuck Hanma, no matter how hot he is ? 😅 Anyway, I'm doing counter psychology (idk if the expression exists in English) and I hate it. I was originally going to talk about the parents because Yasuko's mom seems so protective of her daughter and it's kind of fun to be able to talk about her relationship with her without judging her. I like their relationship, even if their place in the family is not very balanced.
One last question I have and then I'll stop hihi, Rindou who puts his work in the background, is Mikey going to be totally ok with that ? I mean, we know from the beginning that he's not a workaholic, but, can there be consequences ?
That's it, I'm done, I'm really really really excited and impatient for the next chapter and I wanted to tell you that after a quick calculation, this story really in my top 2, I love it so much so thanks again for sharing it with us ❤️
the way your mind works, i swear, i'm always so excited to hear your thoughts on the chapters! like you just make such good connections! and i'm so flattered that you are loving the story so much. dgm has a special place in my heart too!
i'm going to do a read more so i can give this the attention it deserves!
poor reader really has no idea about rindou’s job and is so not ready for the truth. in that scene, rindou’s not saying anything directly incriminating, she doesn’t understand shipping enough to follow, AND rindou is intentionally keeping her distracted. she never stood a chance.
also poor Doc and her mommy/daddy issues ☹ I feel so bad for her tbh. you’re so right that her issues are a key reason she’s able to be with hanma. most people would run and not look back after the eye gouging and Russian roulette incidents, but the childhood abuse Doc experienced really inoculated her against that. and her unexpected reactions are what makes hanma interested in her in the first place.
whereas with yasuko, her father is really a nonentity to her. she doesn’t have issues about him. BUT because she had to fulfill an adult role from a young age because of her family’s poverty, she feels far more mature than her age. worth considering that she’s several years older than her friends in her university program (22 while they’re 18/19) and would have been much younger than most of her coworkers at the factory, so her dating just kind of works out that way.
great question about rindou’s work ethic! Rindou cannot afford to slack off fr bc drugs are bonten’s 2nd biggest revenue stream and kokoni would be up his ass. it would probably fall to takeomi to discipline rindou if he wasn’t doing his job, as takeomi’s like bonten’s chief of staff to koko’s chief revenue officer.
mikey probably wouldn’t get involved. he’s pretty checked out at this point in the story.
but, rindou knows what he can and can’t get away with. he can reschedule a meeting with suppliers for you, but he wouldn’t be ditching, say, a meeting with mikey just because you called upset. he does his job and nothing more, and that’s good enough. it just looks like a fantasy to yasuko who comes from a working class background.

All of Our Stars (Sano Manjiro x Reader)
Tumblr media
"You're on the other side
As the skyline splits in two
Miles away from seeing you"
Song - All of Our Stars by Ed Sheeran
Tumblr media
“And you all have to read the next pages…” The voice of your teacher droned in the background as he repeated the homework for which it felt like the trillionth time after starting the period. Your eyes wandered aimlessly along the Sakura trees which were bare against the melancholic nature surrounding them. Winter break was close at hand, nature was getting ready to welcome the coldness.
You collected your things as the bell rang snapping you off from your daydream. Students rushed out of the classroom, grateful that another exhausting school day was over. Everyone was getting ready for the upcoming exams which were close at hand. You didn’t care much about them. You’re a third year middle school student and everyone in the class was already choosing high schools while you knew you wouldn’t be able to choose yourself. It’s already chosen. You’re moving with your parents to America next year. Your mind was occupied with different thoughts as you took the stairs, finding your way through the crowd of students heading home.
Your eyes wandered to the gate when you noticed him standing there as usual, but he was in his casual attire, not the school uniform. “Skipped school today?” You asked, walking to Mikey. It had been a whole year since you two started dating. It was almost as if when you two are together, time accelerates. You could recall every precious memory like a vivid polaroid. Your first Christmas together, the games at the arcade, and the things you went through when the world of delinquents suddenly crashed into your safe bubble of love. It was beautiful. Every scar, every memory was beautiful.
He stood up straight, no welcoming smile. “You didn’t tell me, Y/n, Why?”
Your smile faded, he knew. You averted your gaze to the ground, absentmindedly poking the sole of your shoe against the ground. “I found out a couple of days ago. It was a sudden decision” You sighed, “So they say”
Mikey stared at you for a moment, “Y/n, what do you want to do?”
You shook your head. That was the question you had in your mind for days. What do you want to do? You didn’t have any idea whether long distance relationships actually worked. Sure, you could visit when it’s a holiday but what about the rest of the days? “C’mon” Mikey took your wrist, guiding you out of the school. You two walked in silence as he slipped his hand to yours, entangling your fingers. A small sign of reassurance. Mikey was good at subtle affectionate gestures. That’s how he loved you, subtle, but affectionate.
“Y/n” He rubbed his thumb across your skin, his eyes looking at the fallen leaves making a thick carpet of red and orange under your feet. “I don’t want to end this”
You smiled, it was obvious, neither did you. “Same here.”
He seemed to consider this for a moment. “We could try long distance.”
“I know…” Your voice trailed off, “But Mikey, what if you-” You stopped, the question was obvious. What if you find someone else? Someone better? You shook your head, “I don’t know”
Mikey tipped his head backwards, looking at the blue sky, heavily covered with clouds. It would be a matter of weeks till snow starts to cover the streets. “I had the same thoughts.” He admitted, turning to you. Both of your fears were valid. Human hearts are fragile and needy. You didn’t know what the future held. “But” He started, “Then I thought of something else. Come, there’s something I have to show you.”
Suddenly, both of you were running across the streets, passing people who were busy with their phones and groceries. Cold wind brushed against your cheeks as you two dashed past annoyed people groaning about youngsters'' manners these days. You didn’t even know the destination until you both stopped in front of a wall filled with graffiti. You knew the place well. Mikey and you came here for your first date. Your eyes instantly reached the bottom corner where Mikey’s messy handwriting was. Written in black ink, contrasting against the patch of white was just one line:
“All of these stars will guide us home”
It was an inside joke between you two. A comfort song of sorts. “Remember here?” Mikey crouched down, his hands softly running over the words. Just underneath his messy writing was your own neat handwriting.
For you and me, and for a future with us together.
Just the first date, but both of you had high hopes for each other. It was rather naive to hope for a future when it had been mere days with you two together. It was precious nonetheless. “You screamed at me that day. Called me out on vandalizing the walls.” He smiled, reaching out a hand to you. You took it and sat down beside him, leaning against the wall, icy cold but holding a vague sense of comfort. This was the first place you two planted an icon of your love together.
“Then five minutes later, I was vandalizing the wall myself” You finished. “You’re such a bad influence, Mikey”
Mikey raised his brow, “I think you’re the bad influence, Y/n. I didn’t beat the crap out of guys with only my shoes.”
You huffed, offended. “First, they were trying to harass me. Second, my heels were the only good weapon I had in my hand. Third, those guys were crap at fighting.”
Mikey shook his head with a laugh, “When I came to the scene, it was all over. I wanted to play the knight who saved the princess, but you didn’t let me.”
You nudged his ribs, “You played the knight several times, Mikey.”
He turned to you. You breath catching against your throat as he reaches for your hair, tucking a stray hair behind your ear. You could feel his breath against your cheek as he held you in his arms, clutching to you as if you were his lifeline. You didn’t blame him. He lost so many people in his life, you knew how much he loved the people around him. Toman wasn’t his treasure. The people in the gang were his treasure. “Where to, next?” You asked, your voice muffled against his black jacket.
He pushed away, “To a certain street sweet shop”
Ah right, you thought as he started walking towards the busy streets of Shibuya. Both of you looked around, taking in the busy lifestyles around you. There was that feeling again, you were detached from the world when you’re with him. It was just him and you, and your hands brushing together as you walked by. You’re going to miss this. You stopped in front of the shop. The pleasant aroma of different types of street food caught your nose. Your mouth waters at the smell. This was the best shop.
Taiyaki sizzled loudly on pains, turning into a golden colour. Mikey’s eyes were firmly planted on them as he ordered two fish shaped cakes, handing one to you. “I will never get sick of this” He spoke through a mouthful of his own.
You kicked his shin playfully, biting into your own. The soft cake melts inside your mouth. “Of course you aren't going to. You stole mine one day!”
Ironically, it wouldn’t be wrong if someone said Taiyaki brought you two together. You two met at this shop. He with his delinquent friends crowded around him, you with your school squad with you. It was a summer evening and there was only one Taiyaki left. You ordered first, but he being the spoiled brat, took it from the man, dropped some coins and dashed out of the shop. You would’ve let it go, but it was your Taiyaki. You dashed after him, ignoring the cries of your friends and the grins of his friends. You chased him down to the river bank where he stood, chomping down on the Taiyaki like a madman.
“I took it first and I paid for it.” He countered, snapping off your thoughts. “I own it, Y/n. I’m no stealer”
“No” You find yourself childishly arguing back, “I ordered it first. You stole it.”
“It’s not stealing when you pay for it.”
“And how are you coming to that conclusion?” You chomped down on your own Taiyaki furiously, getting drowned in crumbs as the crispy sweet crunched at your harsh actions.
“It’s a thing because I say so” Mikey grinned with satisfaction at his argument.
You frowned but kept chewing harshly, as if to offend him. It was a thing with Mikey, you can be childish and at the next moment you could act like mature adults. “You look like you want to bite my face off” He commented, finishing off his and dropping the paper slip into the trash bin.
“I’m afraid I would '' You countered, imitating his actions and looking dusting your hands. The crumbs fell to the floor.
“You’re a messy eater, Y/n” He said, reaching his hands and wiping the corner of your cheek, your eyes lingering against each other for a second longer. “Usually I’m the messy one. Good to have a change of roles” He dropped a kiss on your hair, nuzzling his nose on your head.
“You lovebirds are blocking the door!" the shop owner yelled. But the smile on his face was inevitable. They were regulars at his shop and he had seen both of them grow into lovers from rivals to friends.
“Sorry!” Mikey called out with a slight wave as they both exited the shop. It was like a walk down memory lane. From one thing to another. Shibuya was your love story. Everywhere were scattered memories of your love. “Remember that bench?” Mikey said, gesturing towards a metal bench under a bare Sakura tree.
“We shared my lunch together under that tree” You said, tilting your head as a slight flush reached your cheeks.
Mikey grinned, “You accidentally came to school on a Saturday.”
“Shut it” You huffed, marching to the opposite lane. You knew where you would end up if you just continued to walk. It was another place you made memories. The place you made most of your memories. Mikey skipped a few steps before reaching you.
The river bank was colder than you expected it to be. The wind rushed through your hair as you breathed in the cold air around you. Mikey sat down, patting the grass beside him for you to sit. You slid to the ground and drew your knees to your chest, looking out at the water, overlapping with waves in a soundless muttering. This is where you two came when you needed to talk. The time didn’t matter. You two had midnight talks with each other spilling the insecurities. Somedays, it was just to stay in silence. Nevertheless, this was your happy place. It was the same from all the dangers or reality. A place lost in time.
“Shibuya is going to be a nightmare after you leave” Mikey was laying on the grass, a hand dropped behind his head as he stared into nothingness. “Everywhere I go, it’s memories of you and me. Tiny specks of moments we shared.”
You hummed, “America is going to be even lonelier. No memories. Everything is going to be new and foriegn. Even the people. I’m kinda scared, maybe even terrified, Mikey”
He turned your head and stared at you, “I don’t want to break up, Y/n.”
It was getting dark, you noticed. The sun had already set through the horizons. The stars, one by one came into view, sliding away the darkness with a speck of comfort. The lamp posts on the streets glowed in a healthy yellow breaking through the black night. “Even if we’re going to be away, we’ll be staring at the same sky, watching the same stars each night.” You were talking nonsense, but you did not want to stop. “Mikey, let’s try. I don’t want to let you go either.”
His lips quirked upwards into a soft smile, “Yeah, we should try. You can always come home to me, Y/n. If things get tough out there, you always have a place right here” He said, tapping his finger against his heart. “Don’t be scared. Just be the badass girl you are, they’re going to be terrified”
You let out a surprised laugh, “Terrified enough to send me back home?”
He shrugged, “Worth a try” There was that, his childish tone you adore. You loved him for the man he is. The childish yet mature person. The one you can confide all your secrets to. The one who holds out his hand for you when things get tough. There was no way to let go. You were committed, both of you were. That was love for you. He sat down and turned to you. His dark eyes are watching you intently. “Call me?”
“Every night, I promise” You assured, taking his hands. “Wait for me, Mikey. I’ll be back. If you can wait-”
“I will wait.” He said, cutting you off. He drew closer to you, “There’s always a home with me for you. I promise”
You closed your eyes as you felt tears threatening against them. Love was a series of promises and words. It could be the simple moment you shared with him tonight under a sky filled with stars. For you, love was him and him alone. “I love you” your whispered words were carried by the wind into the night.
“I love you too, Y/n” He said, connecting your lips. Your lips danced together as he pulled you close. The world didn’t matter. His warm hold, cocooning you in mattered more. Your arms held him tightly, lips exploring each other’s warmth and comfort. When you pushed away he pressed his forehead against yours. “I’m going to miss this. I’m going to miss you, Y/n”
You nodded, unable to form words. You’re going to miss this. You’re going to miss him. Your universe. Your guidance to your place called home.

Watch The Night Go Up In Smoke (Chapter 1)
Tumblr media
Paul(The Lost Boys) x Frog! Reader (gender neutral)
Warnings: mention of blood, dead mom
(Y/N) Frog was always deemed “the weird kid” out of all their friends. Not because of anything they ever did. No, it all started with their seventh birthday party, before Christy Frog had tragically passed away.
Just as the candles were being blown out, (Y/N)’s father and uncle, Edgar and Alan Frog, stomped through the door holding stake guns and dripping blood all over the freshly cleaned rugs. All of (Y/N)’s seven-year-old friends obviously screamed in absolute terror as their parents were all flabbergasted and disgusted at the sight before them. Each of the children along with their parents were quickly ushered out of the house with a rushed apology as well as the barely believable explanation that Edgar and Alan had just returned from a hunting trip and forgot they were coming home to a child’s party.
Things obviously worsened after Christy, the wife of Edgar Frog and mother of (Y/N), fell sick. (Y/N) almost never left the house and their mother’s side during this time and lost almost all their friends turning into a recluse. They were only 13 when she passed away peacefully in her sleep. Christy was the more level-headed between her and her husband, never letting his profession stop (Y/N) from living a normal life. Edgar, crippled by the passing of his true love, held on tightly to his only child and the only direct link to his deceased wife he had left. He was strict but it was to protect them. He had to know who was in their friend group and where they were at all times. However, his most strict rule was that (Y/N) was never allowed out past dark.
As (Y/N) entered high school, this obviously made whatever remnants of a social life they had left crumble completely. With a weird father and uncle who didn’t understand social cues, a dead mother, and now a completely unreasonable curfew, (Y/N) was a total social outcast, and hanging out with them would almost instantly be the death of any chance of popularity.
This, however, did not affect (Y/N)’s best friend since diapers, Mikayla Emerson. She was the daughter of Edgar Frog’s lifelong friend, Sam Emerson.
They were complete polar opposites. While (Y/N) was forcefully made into an introvert by the tragedy that is having the Frog name, Mikayla was a bubbly, sweet, and sociable teenager. (Y/N)’s father always told them that she was a spitting image of her father from when they first met. Nobody really understood why the two of them were so close and worked so well together but nobody dared to question it.
If you were caught talking shit about Mikayla’s cousin and it got back to her, then you could consider your high school social life flushed down the toilet. Despite the fact that (Y/N) was best friends and practically family with one of the most popular girls at school, it granted them no entry to any sort of clique.
While Mikayla could never save (Y/N)’s social life at school she would be damned if she couldn’t at least get them a social life in public. They were both 18 and finishing up their senior year, in just a few months, nothing from school would matter anymore. They’d be two adults in the real world, no longer held back by embarrassing birthday parties, or dead moms, or weird dads and uncles. Two new faces. Mikayla, while a total sweetheart and the apple of her father’s eye was a rebel at heart and knew that Edgar Frog’s restrictions that he set on his kid were stupid. There was a party on the beach this Friday night and she was going to help (Y/N) sneak out and finally see how wonderful the world is and just how magical the Santa Carla boardwalk can be at night.
——————————————————————————
Friday night had finally arrived, and the only way (Y/N) could describe how they felt was nervous. Sneaking out was totally risky and completely out of character for them but their cousin had insisted that they go to “Blast on the Beach.” It was an annual event and anybody who was anybody would be at this party, not just high-schoolers. This could be (Y/N)’s chance to finally branch out and meet people who didn’t think of them as some sort of hermit with the father who walked into a child’s birthday party covered in blood.
After dinner, (Y/N) had excused themself telling their father that they were feeling a bit under the weather and worn down from the past week and that they were heading to bed early. (Y/N) thankfully lived in a single-story home with their father so there’d be no climbing needed for when their cousin showed up to sneak them out.
(Y/N) paced around their room waiting 15 minutes before they heard a light tapping on their window. Mikayla stood outside with a smile that stretched a mile wide across her face. She was sure her cousin was going to back out at the last minute but there they were, impatiently awaiting her arrival already dressed for the party.
(Y/N) had opened the window slowly, making as little noise as possible before looking around their room once more, “I should probably bring a jacket right?” they asked their cousin.
Mikayla quickly nodded before motioning to the door of (Y/N)’s bedroom, “Don’t forget to turn off the light and lock the door so it looks like you’re asleep and don’t wanna be bothered.”
(Y/N) quietly rushed and did as their cousin told them to before grabbing their leather jacket off their desk chair and silently maneuvering their way out the bedroom window.
They landed on the dirt outside with a muted thud as their boots hit the ground. (Y/N) readjusted their jacket, checking for any tears. This jacket was very important to the teenager, (Y/N) had found it when they were raiding their Uncle Mikey’s closet with Mikayla. It was a very popular pastime of theirs when they were just entering high school and wanted to look cool. Mikayla mainly stole a few pieces from their Aunt Star’s wardrobe but (Y/N) was inexplicably drawn to this jacket.
They had never seen Mikey ever wear it so they figured he wouldn’t put up much of a fight when they asked for it. (Y/N) remembered how apprehensive their uncle seemed when they had first held it up to ask to keep it. For something he almost never used, he was pretty reluctant to let it go. Their Aunt Star finally convinced him to give it to the teen telling him that it was okay to let go of the past. It seemed rather deep considering it was just a jacket that didn’t seem to hold much importance but (Y/N) chose not to dwell on it for too long.
Mikayla, obviously not a stranger to sneaking out for a night of fun had everything planned to a T. She had parked a few blocks away from the Frog household to not raise any alarms. The two 18-year-olds hopped into her jeep and raced off to the boardwalk. As they arrived they saw that the parking lot was incredibly crowded but she managed to find a parking spot next to four gorgeous motorcycles. Mikayla and (Y/N) climbed out of the vehicle and made their way to the beach where a giant bonfire was roaring away as teenagers and 20-somethings raged around it already completely wasted and ready to have the best night of their lives.

I'm on mobile and I can't find if requests are open or not so please ignore this if they aren't and I'm sorry! If they're open, how about the turtles with a foreign reader who's first language isn't English? Reader feels shy and worried that they're not easy to understand because of their accent and mispronounciations of some words. Also! Would they be interested in learning reader's native language? Thanks a lot if you write it!! I love your writing!!
Don’t worry- they’re open!
Warnings: Swearing.
Incarnation: Bayverse
Extra Info: The brothers all know English, Japanese, and Italian, and learned them in that order from Splinter. Leo also knows Spanish. Raph also knows Russian. Donnie also knows Russian, French, Swahili, Hindi, and Portuguese (but is learning Chinese and Spanish).
Leo:
When Leo first hears your accent, he immediately recognizes it
He really wishes he learned French as well as Spanish in his own time
He lets you lead every conversation, just so you could talk more
He loves the way the “r” rolls off your tongue, and how the “th” sounds more like a “z” when you say it
Also, when you two are on a phone or video call and you’re getting tired, your accent becomes even thicker
(Sometimes, you even start mumbling in French, which makes Leo’s heart flutter)
When you tell him you’re embarrassed about your accent, he literally almost starts crying
“I am just scared you will push me away because my English is not perfect.”
“I will never push you away, Love. you are too dear for me.”
Raph:
You actually started swearing a mile a minute in Russian when you two first meet
He had saved you from some muggers in Harlem, and when you first saw him was when the swears started
He started whispering to you in Russian, telling you to keep quiet
After a while, you started speaking in English, despite how hard it was for you
(The sounds in English were much different than in Russian…)
“You are monster?”
“No, I’m not. I just fucking saved you!”
You look closer at him and see his eyes
“You are a friend?”
“I am a friend. Yes- I… Yes.”
He can see how difficult it is for you to speak English, so he switches to Russian
You subconsciously follow his lead
He immediately notices how much smoother you talk when in your mother tongue
He immediately falls in love
Donnie:
When you start speaking to him, it’s with an accent that makes his heart flutter
You tell him you came from Stonehaven, Scotland for college
You were studying graphic design
And you apologize to him
That throws him off by a lot
“Why are you apologizing?”
“Mah accent is tough tae ken fur ye Americans.”
“Well, I can understand you just fine, Y/N.”
“Ye'r juist talking jobby.”
“I’m not! I’ve always loved Scottish accents.”
You had never been redder
He had never been more in love
Mikey:
One minute, you were nearly under the wheels of a line of Taxis
Next, you were on a rooftop three blocks away
“Sorry I took you so far- I panicked,” Mikey says to you.
“It is okay. Thank you.”
You bowed slightly to him.
He looked at you, curious
You became aware of yourself and became rather shy
“I love your accent! Where is it from? Rather, where did you get it from?”
“My parents and I moved here from Japan earlier this year.”
“You speak Japanese?” He asked you in your mother tongue.
You are shocked at his fluency
“Yes, I grew up speaking it, but I’ve been learning English since I was 10. I’m 16 now.”
“No way! I’m 17, and I grew up speaking English adn then learning Japanese!”
The two of you talk for a while in Japanese, becoming more and more connected to each other.

I love your big brother Mikey au! For no reason whatsoever the first thing that popped into my head is mikey going to parent teacher confrences with his little brothers and they are so excited to show off what they learned.
Parent-teacher conferences are a BIG deal in the Hamato household because it’s the one time of the year that Mikey can excuse himself from work or school and just BE THERE to enjoy the boys’ school lives. (Mikey wants more than anything to be able to see every science fair and play performance and baseball game that the kids put on, but work sadly comes first and Mikey can never find the TIME to do everything)(Which the boys understand. They obviously, of course, WISH that Mikey could see them shine in all the activities they do, but they get it and they never pressure or pout about it to Mikey cause that’s so not fair to Mikey who wants to be there just as badly as they do)
So that’s why parent-teacher conferences are a BIG night for the Hamato boys. Raph had his earlier in the night, cause elementary schools be like that, and Raph got to show all his art that hangs on the hallway walls to Mikey, who BEAMS at him with a “Holy cow, you drew this Raphie? This is amazing! I don’t think I could draw something like this NOW, you’re so talented, buddy!” and piggybacks Raph all throughout the school despite the polite and hushed giggles from the other parents, because Raph asked and he is the baby brother in a way that he’ll never outgrow and Mikey relishes in the time he gets to indulge the 7yo and say yes to him. Raph talks a mile a minute, showing Mikey all his favorite spots and classrooms and friends and teachers and when Raph’s teacher, Mrs. Daniels, hands Mikey a white envelope, filled to the brim with pictures of his baby brother, (pictures of field trips and track days. Pictures of Raph, grinning and red-faced, dressed as a sunflower from the play performance he was so proud of and talking about for weeks that Mikey missed a few months ago) Mikey had to do his best to swallow back the tears that threatened to take over and do his best to give her one of his best grins, thanking her profusely all while clutching the precious little photographs of all the little moments he missed tightly to his chest.
It was the twins' turn next, and thankfully the middle school was just down the block from Raph’s elementary. Leo is the first to greet them, waving them down excitedly from the main steps and leading the two down the hallways to meet up with Donnie near the science labs. (Mikey only got to spend a year at this middle school when they had first moved to New York from L.A when Raph was still a baby, but the surge of nostalgia washes over him like a nauseating tidal wave that he forces down with a white-knuckled gulp. It was a different time then, heck, it felt like a different life altogether. An alternate reality. Where Mikey got to stay a kid a little longer, and dad was still alive)
Donnie shows them all his science projects/experiments, and even shows them the failed robots that didn’t do very well in some of the robotic competitions, because he wants Mikey to see everything, good and bad, and Mikey soaks it all in like a sponge. Wide-eyed and wide grinned as he rubs an affectionate hand through Donnie’s neatly styled hair, just to get a swat and a chuckle out of the bespeckled 12-year-old, and says, “Dee, you made these? I knew you were smart, but I didn’t know you were like, NASA Space Wizard, build-a-working-IA-robot-out-of-toothpicks, smart. I’m so proud of you!” with every fiber of his body because he means it and he wants Donnie to know it too. (And the burst of warmth that blossoms in Donnie's chest is a feeling that Donnie bottles up immediately, putting it on a shelf safely in his heart so that he could keep it forever)
After talking with a few of Donnie's teachers that he doesn’t share with Leo, (because even though he’s smart enough to be 2 grades ahead of where he is, Donnie is adamant about not skipping any grades so he and Leo can graduate together. Mikey wants whatever the boys want, but he understands the teachers' plight to give Donnie the best, so Donnie spends half of his time in the adjoining high school taking those credits, and spends the rest of his time with Leo in the extracurricular classes that he could take just as easily in a middle school alongside his twin) it’s Leo’s turn to get a little attention from Mikey.
And Leo plays it off all cool, pretending that his little golden trophy in the giant display case for ‘Ace Hitter’ isn’t that big a deal, and Mikey knows, like he knows all the freckles on Leo’s nose by heart, that Leo tries to hide all his A+ history and English papers just to make Donnie’s shine and stand out, or that his leading role in their fall production of a Mid Summer’s Night Dream wasn’t ‘nearly as good as Raph’s performance as a dancing sunflower, believe me, Mike, you didn’t miss much at all.’ But Mikey doesn’t get to spoil the middle child often, so he leans over Leo while the 12-year-old talks, wrapping his arms around Leo’s shoulders and holding him close and pressing kisses to the top of his head because, “You’re so incredible, Leo! Gosh, next time you have a home game, let me know, cause I can’t wait to brag about my kid brother, the next Babe Ruth, to literally everyone I know!”
And Leo knows better than to expect that Mikey would be able to even make it to his next game, but the hope that makes a home for itself in his chest is warm and light, so Leo lets it stay there rent-free anyway, and enjoys the little time he gets to spend in the circle of Mikey’s arms that, for the moment, are reserved only for him.

obsetress: like they live together and they share everything and rebecca looks out for isabel just as much and they get to a point and it's like
obsetress: oh. oh
obsetress: like they're both like it's the logical thing to do. it's logical and it's safe and we should have this extra layer of protection but also it's like
obsetress: they find themselves more and more excited a lil you know? and just thinking about how isabel's there and how excited isabel is and
obsetress: but god yeah what i was thinking about this morning like. one day vi has to tell isabel dani's not gonna be coming around anymore and like
obsetress: isabel doesn't really understand and she's so sad and then vi feels even shittier
obsetress: and she's like "we'll be okay. it's you and me, remember? moving mountains"
obsetress: "you me us, right?"
obsetress: the first time rebecca meets her she brings her a book as a gift and is like "this was one of my favorites" and
obsetress: OH I REMEMBERED
obsetress: so like when dani sees isabel again finally (and yknow as nervous as dani was vi was even more on edge because it's so inconsistent and is she gonna understand yknow? and the two of them just spiral––which is also another thing about the two of them in a relationship! i think they push each other down spirals)
obsetress: jamie's there too and dani's like "this is... this is, uh, jamie" and it's like you said jamie isabel parallels and so jamie's like a lil tender
obsetress: spoiler: isabel and jamie end up bonding the most
obsetress: jamie's like running around with isabel on her shoulders and then showing her all these plants and taking her to gardens and
obsetress: another tentative jamie vi alliance
em: isabel mikey hangout When
obsetress: isabel mikey hangout!
obsetress: they're hanging with isabel and she and jamie have a very spirited discussion where isabel's like "i wanna be a princess" and dani's like "why not a knight?" and jamie's like "why not opt out of the feudalistic hierarchy entirely and ditch the kingdom for the high seas?" and convinces isabel to go full pirate
obsetress: and then isabel kinda passes out with her head in jamie's lap and jamie's just kinda idly playing with her hair (vi is already like "am i... attracted to jamie in this moment?")
obsetress: and jamie's like "y'know, i should bring mikey round next time isabel's here" and viola's like "......who?" and jamie's like "my little brother? mikey?" and viola's like "right.... right"
obsetress: cut to later, when dani and jamie have retired to vi and becca's guest room: "since when does jamie have a little brother?" "she always has, babe"
em: kinda obsessed w like. violas love for isabel means her wires get crossed when the surly gardener is Good With Kids
obsetress: yeah
obsetress: mikey and isabel immediately hit it off i think
obsetress: a bit of an odd couple because i think isabel is definitely, like, her mother's daughter and mikey is............. mikey
obsetress: but i think they meet in the middle and help each other grow and play pirates together
em: viola is like. of course mikey and isabel will get along. isabel is wonderful. but jamie is quietly Sweating about the whole thing
em: so damvibecca are having their afternoon tea and their little cakes and jamie is Quietly sweating and she’s like ‘quiet is good, right? like they’re not tryna k-‘ and then there’s the sound of two 8 year olds (idk how old they are tbh) YELLING as they chase each other down the hall w wrapping paper tubes
obsetress: nervous babbling dani x quietly sweating jamie, an otp
em: isabel has gotten into the make up n given them both black eyes n scars and moustaches n everyone’s like oh no how’s viola gonna feel about this but viola is DELIGHTED
obsetress: dani's like "chill you all she's gonna––" and then viola is getting up and asking them to do her face too
em: made a parrot outta a sock and newspaper
obsetress: viola playing pirates w isabel and mikey
em: kids w their endless creativity n absolute disregard for personal property is truly a thing of dreams
obsetress: mikey gives her a paper tube and she disarms isabel, takes hers, and offers it very seriously to jamie
em: cuteeee
obsetress: rebecca's giving dani a look and dani is completely unfazed and reaching for another tea cake
em: absolutely unflappable dani clayton
em: dani and rebecca sharing a Look like hey have you ever seen her this gleeful
obsetress: there is something very tasty about jamie taylor having a direct hand in making viola so gleeful
em: takes a village!
obsetress: when viola's two big loves are sitting five feet away from them both
em: everyone changes everyone for the better
em: fucken soft ass chat over here
obsetress: everyone changes everyone for the better
obsetress: soft as hell
em: thesis statement everyone likes each other so much (jamie pretends she doesn’t)
obsetress: (jamie pretends she doesn't) (jamie might like everyone the most)
obsetress: viola registers mikey for isabel's school n pays full tuition
em: oh my god
obsetress: jamie is horrified and refuses to accept it and viola waves a hand and is like "too late, deposit's non-refundable"
em: (they carpool)
obsetress: PLEASE
obsetress: oh god and like
obsetress: flora and miles go there too
obsetress: full circle complete
em: broke: highschool au woke: guardians of primary schoolers au
obsetress: dani jamie in bed jamie's like "you don't...... think it's weird?" "hmm?" "mikey going to.... school with our boss' kids?" "why would that be weird" "i dunno" "he also goes to school with my ex's kid" "he's best friends with your ex's kid" "and that's not weird, is it?" (grumbles) "not anymore" "so why would this be?"
em: jamie’s ribbing mikey for his silly tie and straw hat but she teaches him how to tie a tie and also she keeps crying for some reason???
obsetress: oh fuck
em: mikey: can’t i just get a fake tie >:/
jamie: no because when u have a real tie you can leave it untied a little as an act of rebellion
obsetress: god it's jamie crying for me
em: i love that big baby
obsetress: so much!
em: jamies like idk what’s gotten into me i never cry n danis like. raises one eye brow and mentally checks off all the times jamie has absolutely bawled watching a movie
em: not even a sad movie
em: dani plays along
em: maybe ur getting soft in ur old age jamie
obsetress: jamie i cry three four times a day five if i'm being honest taylor
em: thinking about their weekly weekend lunch w damvibecca and hannah and owen and miles and flora and
obsetress: dfjsldkfjslfslfj
obsetress: god big found family
obsetress: you know viola doesn't like
obsetress: dani and jamie respectfully toe around whatever the fuck owen and hannah have going on but viola just does not suffer it. she's so blunt to them
em: big viola grin and all ‘owen, hannah, i assume you will be each other’s dates?’ (owen chokes on his tiny egg sandwich)
em: hannah grose is serene and unreadable as she dabs a bit off yolk off owens moustache
em: maybe even a bit pleased
obsetress: everyone is always so tense when viola and hannah get together because neither of them take shit yknow
obsetress: and everyone's like "which way is this gonna go"
em: god. peak snarky broads
obsetress: but usually they end up good. two apex predators where one is a lil vicious but the other is so confident in its status that it just chills
em: they have the Best gossip
obsetress: would love to sit in and listen as they drink tea and gossip tbh
em: viola presses owen on hannah and he goes red and viola presses hannah on owen and she does a little wouldnt-you-like-to-know into her tea
em: viola nee willoughby and hannah grose friendship is. truly something i never knew i needed until now
em: they’re both just that lil bit older than the rest of the gang too
obsetress: an important coalition
obsetress: hannah grose! hannah looking out for rebecca and that's the couple times she gets a lil testy w vi
obsetress: mikey and isabel besties but flora and mikey get along really well and isabel and miles do too i think
em: the sheer chaos of a taylor-lloyd-windgrave story time
obsetress: LDKFjKLSDJF HELP
obsetress: taylor lloyd wingrave story time
obsetress: jamie suddenly very invested in story time
obsetress: dani's like "i know this is the first time you've actually cared about story time, babe, so let me give you some pointers"
em: i was just in my head thinking fondly about like. jamie is a drop out and plays a lil dumb sometimes for fun but also prolly reads a lot especially to mikey and now i’m like. wait i’m talking to Ms Floras Two Moms herself
em: idk if i had that headcanon before i read she taught me a lesson alright but yknow what! doesn’t matter it’s a beautiful one
obsetress: thank youuuu i love it a lot
obsetress: jamie big reader is generally one of my fave headcanons tbh i'm glad it seems to be widely accepted. can't even explain why it's just nice
em: sometimes i will talk 2 ppl about my passionate drop out jamie taylor belief n then they’re like but she’s smart (it’s only happened a couple times hahsj) and i’m like these aren’t mutually exclusive!! this is my very biased experience but my friends who do manual labor for a living seem to read so much more than my friends who don’t
em: your brain wants to chew over things while the hands are workin i reckon
obsetress: yes yes yes yes yes
obsetress: i think that's also like (sighs heavily)
obsetress: symptomatic of hegemonic perceptions of the working class
em: i love when u sigh heavily it’s always a fun take
obsetress: i think jamie is v clever and reflective and like if there's one thing i've learned getting older it's
obsetress: smart doesn't matter i think the most insightful most thoughtful people are the most reflective ones
obsetress: like none of it fuckin matters just be a nice person

PS, any chance I could convince you to write some fluff to balance the sad bits you've been writing? I'm worried about the consecutive angst/emo/TW stuff you've created. (Are you okay? do you need someone to be there with you?) IF and only if you feel inspired enough, maybe a "surprise we got married in the middle of quarantine" Lashton fic where no - not even Malum - knew except maybe like 2 random witnesses? -🕷
spidey anon, pat yourself on the fucking back for somehow getting me to write fluff. really can’t explain that with anything except that it is probably affected by the sheer joy i feel from listening to music with cam for seven hours straight <3 anyway. this isn’t Exactly what you said but it’s not, like, NOT what you said and i was gonna write more but then i thought i’d just never finish it and i felt like you deserved something nice so i am just going to give it to you as it is hope you enjoy

Luke finally learns why Ashton’s been restless all week when he pulls out the ring.
“No,” he says immediately, before Ashton can even open his mouth. A look of confused distress appears on Ashton’s face. “I mean, not no. Just, like, no, you aren’t proposing to me now.”
“I one hundred percent am,” Ashton says, sounding exasperated and fond. “Shut up, don’t act like you weren’t expecting it.”
“I wasn’t expecting it!” That’s mostly true. Although it doesn’t mean Luke hadn’t been hoping. “But I don’t want you to propose in quarantine, how un-romantic is that? I can’t think of anything less romantic.”
“Nothing? At all?” Ashton narrows his eyes. “I could have proposed while you were in the bathroom. Just stood outside the door and gone hey, Luke, marry me?”
Despite himself, a thrill runs down Luke’s spine at the words. “Fine,” Luke says. “That would have been less romantic, but only barely. Come on, Ashton, it’s not like being engaged is going to change anything about our situation. We’re stuck at home together anyway.”
“Yeah, but,” Ashton says, “and hear me out on this one: I’ll get to call you my fiancé.”
Luke blushes. “That’s really nothing.”
“You won’t be saying that when I’m calling you fiancé,” Ashton says smugly. “Now if I could please get on with it.”
Luke sighs. “I could always say no.”
“Then you’ll say no,” Ashton says, shrugging. “And I’ll just keep asking.”
Of course he will. Ashton’s nothing if not persistent. To a fault, some might say.
“Alright then,” Luke says, trying to sound as defeated as possible to mask the giddy feeling filling his gut. “Go on.”
Even before Ashton starts talking, Luke knows that in no universe would he ever, ever, ever be idiotic enough to refuse a marriage proposal from Ashton Irwin. And he really wouldn’t even want to.
“Alright, well,” Ashton says, and Luke notices that his knuckles are white from holding the small velvet box, and his free hand is shaking. The steadiest grip of anyone Luke’s ever known, and Ashton’s hands are shaking. It hits Luke, the enormity of this question. “First of all, I want to say that I love you. I’ll love you if you say yes. I’ll love you if you say no. I’ll love you if you break up with me and go fall in love with — with Michael.” Luke snorts. “I mean it, Luke, I really will. Like, you’re it for me. I know that’s what everyone says, but you really are. I can’t even imagine — quarantine without you. Life without you.”
“Grim,” Luke says under his breath, and Ashton laughs nervously.
“Yeah,” he says. “Grim as fuck. I’m not going to waste all my words on this, because — well, for starters because you just said you’re planning to say no, so I’ll save my really mushy romantic stuff for when I know you’ll say yes.” Luke huffs an unsteady laugh. Ashton’s hand is still shaking, and Luke reaches unthinkingly across the table and clamps it between his own palms. Ashton gives him a grateful smile. “But also because you already know it. I don’t think I need to remind you of all the reasons I love you. I will if you ask, though,” he adds, and Luke smiles. “But mostly I think the beauty of a proposal is that it’s not as much about what we have been, but what we will be. We’ve both been here for our whole relationship. You know what’s happened. I don’t need to remind you. I’m just asking if — if you want to see what it can become. What more we can be.” He takes a deep breath, and Luke squeezes his hand. “So, Luke. Cards on the table. Will you marry me?”
And it’s cute that Ashton phrases it as a question, as if there could ever be any more than one answer. Luke swallows thickly. “Of course I’ll marry you.”
“Wait,” Ashton says. “Really?”
“Of fucking course really.” Luke comes around the table without releasing his grip on Ashton’s hand. “God, stop being nervous, Ashton, I’d love to marry you, I’ll marry you literally tomorrow if you want.”
“You were going to say no,” Ashton says, sounding dazed. “What — I really thought you were serious about that.”
“Ashton,” Luke says, falling into a kneel so he can be eye level with Ashton. “I am so ridiculously in love with you I think the only thing that could stop me from wanting to marry you would be actual death. And even then, I’m pretty sure my ghost would haunt you until we figured out necromancy.”
Ashton laughs; Luke recognizes the way his shoulders fall a bit, sees the tension drain from his posture, the stress evaporate from between his brows. “Oh, the fucking ring,” he remembers, and flips the box open, pressing it into Luke’s hand. Luke gazes down at the silver ring with a growing feeling of anticipation, something akin to impatience, if it weren’t accompanied by such elation.
“It’s so pretty,” he murmurs. “Understated. Perfect.”
“I thought you’d prefer understated,” Ashton says, pink-cheeked.
Luke draws Ashton into a kiss, wondering if he can somehow diffuse the warmth pooling in his chest before it grows too hot and burns him. Ashton twists his fingers into Luke’s hair, and they stay that way until Luke’s knees start to feel sore from the tile and he has to pull back.
“I’d marry you tomorrow,” Luke repeats, breathless, and this time means it seriously. “Let’s just get fucking married, Ashton.”
“That’s the idea of the proposal,” Ashton says, freeing his hand from Luke’s hair but resting it instead on Luke’s shoulder, fingertips drumming against the back of his neck. “We can’t get married tomorrow. As much as I would love to.”
“Why not?” Luke challenges. “We don’t know when the next time we’ll be able to do a proper wedding ceremony will be. This pandemic could last another year, another two. I don’t want to wait a year to be married to you. I don’t want to wait a month, Ashton.”
“You’ve really flipped on this,” Ashton says. “Luke, our parents will kill us. Our bandmates will kill us.”
“Whatever,” Luke says. Adrenaline is racing through his veins, and love for Ashton, although if he’s honest with himself all of his blood is tinged with love for Ashton anyway, has been for years. Ashton is what keeps his heart beating. When he bleeds, it’s all love. “We can have a ceremony later, when it’s safe, I just want to be married now. My husband, Ashton Irwin. Doesn’t that sound good?”
“My husband Luke,” Ashton breathes, and Luke can see the moment he succumbs to the idea. A dry smile creeps across Ashton’s face, and he drops his forehead against Luke’s. “Luke Hemmings, my husband. God. Okay. Fine. Let’s get married tomorrow.”
There’s no stopping the grin that stretches Luke’s mouth ear-to-ear, nor the way a furious stampede of cows/horses suddenly makes itself at home in his stomach. “Getting married tomorrow!” he whisper-chants. “Mikey and Cal are going to kill us!”
“Lauren and Harry will end my life,” Ashton adds, mirroring Luke’s smile. “Your mum will have my head.”
“Oh, she will,” Luke says, nodding in agreement. “But I’ll just go, hey, mum, can you not speak to my husband that way?”
“Jesus,” Ashton says hoarsely. “That sounds so fucking good.”
Luke chews on the inside of his lip. “Might keep using it, then,” he says. “If you ask nicely.”
Ashton shakes his head, with obvious difficulty. “Get up, you absolute menace, we need to eat dinner still.”
“Fine,”  Luke says. “After dinner, then.” He smirks as he pushes himself to his feet, and Ashton swallows.
“Behave,” he says sternly.
“I’m behaving!” Luke protests. “Why can’t I try and seduce my own husband-to-be?”
“Because we are having dinner,” Ashton says, rolling his eyes and pushing his chair out to retrieve their food from where it’s warming in the oven. “You can seduce me after.”
That’s a pretty fair deal, but Luke still pouts for another moment, because he has a reputation to uphold. “Hey,” he says, settling into his chair as Ashton brings the food out. “Does this make you the housewife? I feel like you do most of the cooking and cleaning.”
“I’m pretty sure that makes you the trophy husband,” Ashton returns, taking his own seat.
Luke snickers. “I can deal with that.” There are much worse things to be than Ashton Irwin’s trophy husband. That’s already a million miles above boyfriend. And frankly, any way Luke gets to be Ashton’s husband is perfect for him.

I am Feeling Some Darryl Morris Appreciation in this Chili's tonight, so I was wondering: if you were going to give the man an actual arc (because he deserved one dammit!) or change his role in Charmed, how would you do it?
i mean given just like the type of guy he is / his relationship towards magic, i kinda hesitate to give him a plotline centered around magic bc i feel like he'd just be miserable all the time. on the flip side, this is charmed so um like. we really don't have plotlines outside of magic tbh i feel like. a plot where yes it's a magical problem but there is a very human side to it one the girls just like aren't equipped to handle, like. darryl could do that. idk what that would be tho. and then we also like. never see sheila or his kids i would love to see more of darryl's family. i mean. there's always the magical morrises au. okay so what if like. what if like darryl has a nephew or niece or whatever. either his sibling's kid or sheila's sibling's kid. someone like. late teens. but still in high school maybe. 17 or 18. and something tragic happens to this kid's parents i wanna go w a gender neutral name so i don't have to commit to anybody. sam? angel? casey? jesse? jordan. boom. classic name great name. yes so jordan's parents have died so they have to pack up and move halfway across the country to live w their aunt and uncle in san francisco. and jordan's cagey and distant and tbh kind of weird very antisocial not just to their family but like to kids their own age too and darryl's very stressed out because like. aaaa!!!! but then idk there's like. maybe this starts as a constructive gentle conversation that quickly devolves into an argument because we were all mentally ill teenagers were we not? we know how it goes. Anywayz in the conversation now argument some freak shit happens idk what and jordan immediately kinda shuts down and stops completely as if it was their fault and darryl can clock it from a million miles away this kid's a witch. so you know the girls are on the line faster than you can say hocus pocus as it turns out we'll say jordan's dad was a witch and trained them until he was killed by a demon so in order to keep their mom safe they really kind of gave up on the craft but for what it's worth they did love it practicing magic with their father but now it's just like. i mean it reminds them of him. we'll say they had the same power set. and like. it really it rips the wound open fresh every time they practice. heart 2 heart w paige over losing their parents. darryl leo heart to heart after leo's mortal or something we can shift around the timeline about being scared being out of their depth because all they wanna do is protect this kid but how can they protect this kid when he's so out of his depth here. but what i really want what i really really want here is just a little moment of jordan bonding with their cousins right because there's like what about a 15 year age delta there roughly so mikey and dj r just like kids. they're just little kids they don't really fully know what going on especially when jordan first arrives and they're trying to be nice because like they know their parents just died but they're little kids so it's like do you want to play sorry! with us? when all jordan really wants to do is like. go into a coma and never wake up. so jordan was definitely a lil (well, okay, more than a little) snippy with them in the beginning but just a little scene were all the kids are laying on the floor playing sorry (it's a board game if u do not know it was my favorite as a child) and darryl and sheila just like. look over from the kitchen and see like. like a happy, healing family. i would love getting more of an emotional journey from darryl some really secure happy ending specifically tied to his life outside of the sfpd. also a scene where darryl like. teaches jordan tho throw a punch. like he might not be able to teach potion brewing or whatever but like every kid should be able to throw a good punch okay so no don't put you thumb there yep yeah okay now bap! like. dad!darryl por favor.

You were sure that Michael was debating on either asking if you’d been kidnapped or straight up running away from the almost manic like grin that was stretched across your lips.
But you knew that he understood your excitement and even shared in it; if only to a lesser degree.
“Why are you grinning like that? Who did you kill at work? Was it you coworker that tried to get you into trouble?” At the query, he laughed at the offended look you gave him in return. Feeling his arm slipping around you, giving a gentle squeeze, you couldn’t keep the look on your face.
“I didn’t kill anyone. They were lucky that they left before I could actually commit a murder though.” Your dark mutter made him smile as he pressed a kiss to your temple.
“There’s my homicidal maniac.” The words had caught you off guard and unable to help yourself, you snorted out a laugh, making him grin. You knew you could count on him to make light of the situation, but your excitement was not one to be deterred.
“It’s going to be our first Christmas together in our home Mikey.” Instead of understanding like you’d hoped, you were met with a look of confusion and you held back your sigh.
And then it clicked, his eyes widening as a grin bloomed across his lips.
“Our first Christmas home! We’re decorating, right?” And you couldn’t help yourself, laughing as you pressed a kiss to his lips and pulled him to the direction of the living room where various boxes were sat waiting to be rummaged through.
“We are. Since We both brought our own decorations when we moved in, I figured we could go through them together.” And Michael chuckled as he opened up one of the boxes, holding up the cheesy tree ornament that your parents had given back to you, one that you’d made when you were a child.
“Shut up.” You grinned at him as you found the box filled to the brim with various garlands. Tugging one out of the box, you draped it across his shoulders and he scoffed, pulling it off only to throw it over you, gently tugging you closer to him with each end.
“Trapped.” He teased, a playful grin on his lips as you kissed his cheek before ducking from under the garland, ignoring his noise of protest.
“Decorations first, distractions later.” The dramatic sigh you received in return made you press your lips together in amusement before you put on the Christmas playlist, a mixture of old classics with various artists that you both liked that had done Christmas songs.
You’d not felt excited for Christmas until you’d realised this little bit of information. You’d been dreading the holidays before it had occurred to you that-despite it being far from your first christmas together-it was your first christmas together in your new home.
Both families had understood that you wanted to spend the holidays together in your new home and had decided to travel to the two of you instead of the two of you visiting various countries. Michael had most been excited about this.
When Moose came to investigate the noises of the boxes being opened and the bags being rustled, Southy far too used to the sounds to follow after the other dog.
You’d almost danced in glee when you’d found the small reindeer outfit that you’d originally purchased for Southy years ago. The look that Michael gave you, made you stick your tongue out at him.
“Moose baby, come here.” You coaxed her and she was hesitant, occasionally sniffing at the various decorations that had fallen onto the floor. You noticed that Michael had his phone out as Moose reached you and you fussed her in turn.
She gave you kisses in return and you’d successfully gotten the outfit tacked around her. Surprisingly, she didn’t protest the outfit, instead turning to Michael who had laughed and made her way over to him, her tail going a mile a minute.
“You poor thing. You’ve got weeks of this Moose.” He murmured as he ruffled her fur. You grinned as he got the outfit off her.
“Leave the dogs out of it for now.” He teased finally as he took out the lump of christmas lights and you laughed.
“Get those untangled and I might.” You knew that he would, he had more patience than you did when it came to Christmas lights.
Now and then, the two of you would sing along, occasionally throwing pieces of garland at Michael whenever he swapped lyrics out for a ruder version. Every time he did, you tried to keep up the offended looks, but even you couldn’t help but laugh at him, chiming in with your own versions which earned more decorations being thrown in return.
With the boxes organised, you both finally began decorating, taking the garland and wrapping it around the banister of the stairs.
“Can you believe that we got this far?” You asked him as you ventured back into the living room, decorations in hand as you worked together to get them hung over the picture frames.
“Honestly, every bad Christmas we had to suffer, this makes up for all of them.” He murmured once you back to the boxes.
You started to put up the tree when Michael disappeared. You weren’t entirely sure what he was up to, knowing that he did have the wreath for the door, but the mischievous smirk he’d given you as he disappeared out of the room told you there was definitely more that he was up to.
Once the tree was up, the branches spread easily for the decorations to hang from, Michael  reappeared with a steaming mug and you hesitated before taking a sip, the mulled wine bringing you warmth you hadn’t realised you were missing.
“I figured that we could have a mug or two before we decorate the tree.” His voice had fallen quiet and you found yourself melting slightly, pressing a kiss to his lips, tasting the mulled wine on his own lips.
“Sounds like a plan, handsome. Plus we can sort out the tree decorations.” You hummed and his face lit up as he placed his mug down, racing up the stairs to your confusion and amusement.
It didn’t take long for him to return, a small box in his hands as he settled back next to you. Almost immediately, you’d tucked yourself into his side, grinning at his chuckle as he handed you the box, taking the mug from your hands.
“I was waiting for this because, well just open it and see.” He encouraged, his face alight with excitement.
So of course you took your sweet time, earning a groan from him, however he didn’t rip the package open like you’d half expected him to. He sat patiently, watching your face.
So once the wrapping paper was discarded and you pried the lid off, you looked away from him to the item in question and felt your breath leave you.
Inside was an ornament, a small square with a key painted at the top, with yours and Michael’s names underneath, followed by the year, marking it your first Christmas together in this home.
You couldn’t find the words to convey the joy at this one small thing, along with the love that you felt for him. It felt like you chest was fit to burst with the love you felt surge up for him and you jumped as you felt his finger brush your cheek.
That was when you realised that he was brushing away a tear.
“Mikey.” Your voice cracked and he shifted the both of you, his arms pulling you into him. And you held onto him tightly as he pressed a kiss to the top of your head.
“I wanted something to mark this Christmas. It’s special to us, together as our little family.”
You were lost for words at the small but thoughtful gift.
“How about we start decorating then?” I’ve got a few ways to show my appreciation of your gift but I’d rather have everything already done.” The tease was enough, but he smiled and kissed you softly, his fingers cupping your face.
“I love you.” He whispered gently and you could’ve sworn you melted into his touch.
“I love you too. C’mon.” You coaxed, and he followed your lead. Decorating the tree was not nearly as stressful as you’d anticipated, both of you aiming for a tree that was both tasteful but you couldn’t help but laugh at the small gaming figurines that were scattered throughout the tree.
Once the star was on top, the newest decoration in clear view of the room, you leaned back into Michael as he stood behind you, surveying the room.
Turning in his arms, you beamed up at him and he grinned. His hand moved from around you, prompting you to look up to see he was holding mistletoe above the two of you.
You laughed and kissed him soundly, his hand discarding the mistletoe as he pulled you closer to him.
You were almost certain that this had become your favourite Christmas by far.

sorry to bother you but do you know of any fics like the unholyverse??? i read it and absolutely loved it & would like to read somethinh similar lol
Hi there!
Tbh I kind of haven't (yet) 😅There's a whole bunch of fic with religious themes, horror and/or supernatural elements though, I'm sure you'll find something interesting!
Here's a link to the Unholyverse series again for everyone interested.
And just for the record: you're not a bother, I love making these lists!
If You Liked Unholyverse...
Not A Saint by happilyappled, Frank/Gerard, 6k, Explicit. Father Way is not just a priest and Frank is not just any other man.
Tell Me I'm an Angel by SeraphStarshine, Frank/Gerard, 205k, Mature. Gerard thought that committing suicide would finally end it: no more pain, no more sorrow - nothing. The last thing he expected was to wake up in Hell, reborn as a demon under Lucifer’s control. He is planning on ending himself - for good this time - when he runs into an angel named Frank. Even though it is forbidden, he can’t resist spending time with him, and before he even realizes what is happening, he has fallen in love with this mysterious angel. Little does he know that their innocent romance is a part of something much greater which could ignite an all-out war between Heaven and Hell.
Father Way. by Frnk, Frank/Gerard, 6k, Not Rated. Father Way was the youngest priest in the parish, he had only joined a few months ago and Frank completely stopped going to confessions. Its not that Father Way was some old man, it was the opposite. He was around 25, fresh out of training when he joined the church.
Won't You Light My Way? by FallOutFromGrace, Frank/Gerard, 6k [WIP], Explicit. The land of the living became all the more interesting when one of the humans he was trying to turn to his own desires happened to have a spark of the divine. Well, for Gerard, at least. To everyone else, it was a horrific disaster and possibly and end to an era ruled by the spirits and entities down below. To him, it was an improvement to a boring existence.
Hunting With Bullets by Oni216, 21k [WIP], Mature. Having a band is the perfect cover to fight evil that lurks in the dark. It provides distraction, a reason to live, and decent lyrics for no one to fully understand. And it takes its toll. It always takes a toll.
From Grace by blood_infexions, Frank/Gerard, 40k, Explicit. “The connection a guardian angel will have to their human surpasses anything mortal man could fathom. It is pure, untainted love.” Frank is Gerard's guardian angel... until Gerard attempts suicide. Consequentially he is sent down to earth to live as a human again.
Desecrated Kids by wellthisisprettyrisque (collettephinz), Frank/Gerard, 144k, Explicit. Everyone moves into a new town and thinks it's strange. Stepping out of the car with a weird feeling tingling down the back of your neck isn't actually that unheard of, but finding that unmarked grave in the woods behind your house is. Frank Iero wonders if his mother moved him here so he'd disappear off the face of the planet, or if she actually wants the body to be found. All he knows is that this town has some horrible things happening to it, and no one seems to care enough to lift their heads and actually see. He has no idea what's going on, and is one of the few people that wants to find out. Luckily, Gerard is a few steps ahead of him.
Howl (Frerard Werewolf AU) by FrerardAndTheAssbutts666, Frank/Gerard, 18k, Teen And Up Audiences. In a small village, the townspeople all live together in harmony. But when a young woman is found dead, a wave of fear washes over the former peaceful village. Especially when signs of Werewolves, and Witches are linked to the murder. 17 year old Gerard Way is a young man who is well liked by everyone in the village, partly due to his families status in the village. Despite the fact that his village is a God fearing one and he wears dresses. And when another murder is committed, showing the same signs as the first, the village turns to full blown panic, and reinforcements are sent in to help. A Werewolf hunter and his son have traveled to help save this village from the belly of the beast, all while Gerard begins to question everything. The only person he could truly trust during this time of fear, is his boyfriend and lover, Frank. Frank and Gerard have been having a secret relationship, fearing they would be condemned to death if anyone knew. But as more blood is shed and more bodies hit the ground, Gerard begins to piece together that the beast is closer than he thinks. (Loosely based off Red Riding Hood with Amanda Seyfried and Gary Goldman...Okay more like its pretty based off it :p.)
Written in the Sand by Scarlet_Cross, Sarah/Brendon in a later fic, 28k, Teen And Up Audiences. Desert is brutal, it gives no second chances. It demands respect, sacrifice, and blood. (It's set in a super AU danger days pre-music videos universe. Mostly centered on the MCR boys, but there will be cameos, references, and side shoot offs into different bandom areas.)
The psalm of David by ratfromasewer, Frank/Gerard, 6k, Teen And Up Audiences. There's the world that's "after" and there's the world that's "before". After the slippery road, the accident, the almost-becoming-an-angel.
Stairway to Heaven by fleurdeliser, tuesdaysgone, Frank/Grant/Gerard, 58k, Explicit. Father Way accidentally taps into the memories of an angel, and stumbles into the middle of a millennia-long doomed romance.
Shadows In The Parking Lot by cellphonecharm_au, Frank/Gerard, 61k, Explicit. In which there’s a mass grave under Frank and Ray’s apartment complex, Frank doesn’t believe in ghosts, & Frank’s ex-boyfriend is, conveniently, a paranormal consultant.
Shadowplay by theoretically_yours, Frank/Gerard, 74k [WIP], Explicit. Malimore is a small town in Southern California where ghosts are as common as any other household pest and vampires come out to steal the souls of humans at midnight. Frank Iero is a young paranormal investigator whose interest in the supernatural began after the bizarre and untimely death of his parents. One day, when he and his partner take on a particularly gruesome case, all hell breaks loose with Frank caught at the very center. This is the story of how it all happened.
When Both Our Fates Collide (Frerard) by A_A_Dolan, Frank/Gerard, 11k, Mature. Frank Iero is a loner traveler who is a demon hunter. He is part demon due to him having to sacrifice part of his soul to save the life of his son, Miles, after losing his wife and twin daughters to demons. Along the way, Frank has a quest to save the life of someone who can save humankind from death and destruction. A man by the name of Gerard Way. Frank ends up finding Gerard...as a professional, exotic dancer in the bad part of town. Gerard is special and unique and it’s Frank’s job to protect him at all costs. Eventually Frank discovers that Gerard is an angel and has powers stronger than all demons combined...when that news gets out, all demons and angels are on the search for Gerard.
Love will scares us apart by francoantoniohierro, Frank/Gerard, 56k, Mature, Explicit. Haunted House AU. Frank Iero is looking for answers after the death of his best friend. The only people willing to help are the Way brothers. On the other hand, the Way brothers are two paranormal experts looking for amusement.
Famous Last Words by SaskiaK, 22k, Mature. The Paramour Mansion is not for the faint-hearted. Mikey recalls some of events that almost tore him apart
Stay out of the Light by orphan_account, Frank/Gerard, 10k, Explicit. Reserved bookworm Gerard, and arrogant, conceited boyfriend Frank are best friends, though they share little in common. They share even less in common when Frank mysteriously gains an appetite for human blood. As their classmates are steadily killed off in gruesome attacks, Gerard must uncover the truth behind his boyfriend's transformation and find a way to stop the bloodthirsty rampage before it reaches his own brother Mikey. Jennifer's Body AU
The Brandy of the Damned by Nokomis, Gen, 15k, Teen And Up Audiences. An ill-advised detour leads My Chem to a town populated by the dead.
Get Up and Kill by MontyKarl, 10k, Teen And Up Audiences. The zombie apocalypse is upon us. The Way Brothers may well be our only hope...or at the very least their only hope.
In The Walls by thesamefire, Gen, 72k, Teen And Up Audiences. When My Chemical Romance move into the Paramour, they get a lot more than they bargained for. All they want to do is write an epic album, but Mikey is falling apart and Gerard isn't sure what to do about it—or about the fact that they're trapped inside the house with no escape from the increasingly strange and terrible things that are happening to them.
Break The Walls (And Kill Us All) by tabulaxrasa, Frank/Gerard, 27k, Mature. Frank owns an antique store, but he's not very good at it. About the only thing he IS good at is having a crush on his best customer. Until Frank unknowingly unleashes something into his shop— something that doesn't like him very much. And it's not going away any time soon.
the house that dripped blood by addandsubtract, Frank/Mikey, 11k, Mature. “When do we leave?” Mikey asks, and Gerard steps back. “Two weeks,” he says, and Mikey sees flashes of empty hallways and open doors as Gerard pulls his fingers away.

I hope Piebald can still exist in Happy Family AU. Like, Lou can still get a fish when he feels sorta sad that his boys don't need him as much any more, and instead of flushing her the boys could take her down to Draxum's lab for whatever reason, and she either eats a stray oozesquito or gets splashed with ooze. Lou and Drax hear the ruckus and come down just in time to see her mutate, and Piebald just kinda looks at them like "...Daddy?" Cue Lou pretty much immediately adopting her lol
If it had been anyone else, Draxum would have been concerned about someone doting over a goldfish like Lou was. But that was Lou, of course, and Draxum knew he needed something to dote and parent over now that the boys were older and didn’t need or want to be babied over as much. The little piebald was precious, he’d admit. Much like their father, the boys doted on the little creature as well, and he himself could be found exchanging one-sided pleasantries with the thing.
Lou really did love that fish like it was one of their children. Hence the immediate panic when they came home from a date and the fish bowl plus Piebald was missing.
“Where is Piebald?” Lou asked, scanning the living room. “I asked the boys to clean her tank, but that should have only taken a few minutes.”
“Unless they waited until the last minute,” Draxum replied. “No need to panic-”
There was a loud bang from the lab.
“Okay, now we panic.”
Lou and Draxum ran downstairs to the lab, wondering why in the world the boys would bring the fish down there. They were greeted with the sight of four turtle teens looking guilty and panicked, and one humanoid piebald goldfish, standing awkwardly near the container of oozesquitos.
“What-”
“Dad! We just wanted to show Piebald the rest of the house!” Mikey exclaimed. “We felt bad that she only ever saw the living room and-”
“...Daddy?” the fish said. Lou went wide-eyed, realizing that the fish in front of them was his little Piebald.
“She ate an oozesquito, didn’t she?” Draxum asked, arms crossed. The boys sheepishly nodded.
“It was on accident, I swear,” Donnie added. “It was Leo’s fault-”
“Was not!”
“You were showing off for Piebald!”
“Guys, stop!” Raph said, pulling the two apart. “Pops, Dad, we’re really sorry...Pops?”
Lou had remained silent, face nearly unreadable as he approached Piebald.
“Daddy?” she asked, looking at her curiously, and worried that he wouldn’t like her now that she couldn’t fit into her fishbowl. She was pleasantly surprised, however, when he hugged her, pulling her close.
“My little Piebald, all grown up!” Lou said cheerfully as he pulled away. “We’ll have to turn one of the guest rooms into a better room for you.”
“I get to stay?” Piebald asked.
“Of course! You’re one of my children after all, right Draxum?” Lou replied. Draxum saw that question a mile away as soon as they saw Piebald herself and nodded. Of course she was one of theirs, without question.
If any more pets mutated into children, they’d have to build onto the castle.
