oh? (<- curious abt your pathfinder character)

[heavy breathing] oh my god you dont even know the brain worms I have for this character. they dont have a name (they have a name ive been calling them for simplicity but its not like their actual canon name, I just needed something quick for the oneshot I played them in to try pathfinder) but theyre like one of my favorite ocs I have. oh my god. so theyre a catfolk, theyre a tuxedo cat, and this didnt get explored at all in the oneshot I played but their backstory is 'reflection.' meaning that they literally got magically pulled out of a mirror. like oh my god. their background is acrobat, technically. their class eventually becomes swashbuckler. The 'original', the person theyre a replica of, worked in a circus as an acrobat and tightrope walker and such. My pathfinder character got pulled out of a mirror in the hall of mirrors. can you imagine. you are just quite literally pulled into existence, you dont know by what, you dont know where you are, you've never been alive before, you've never thought before, you look like an adult bc youre an imperfect replica of someone who was, but you've never existed until now, and you just have to fucking deal with that??? so for like 3 months they stay living and working at the circus, because where else are they supposed to go?? they dont know anything else!! im not entirely sure what happens with this part of the lore yet, but they either get framed for killing their original, or the original goes missing or something, something happens and it makes replica look really suspicious, and so its kind of the last straw, and they decide to leave and become their own person and explore the world. this is where the swashbuckler class becomes a thing. At some point along the way, theyre given or steal or something a sword called a 'bastard sword', and bastard swords are called that because they have no 'family' as far as swords go. well guess what, my character doesnt either. They have a really hard time for a while, obviously they havent been around for a long time to learn social cues or anything, and theyre forced to learn rather quickly that people dont take kindly to reflections. ive been trying to decide whether or not they themself have a reflection, because on one hand I like the idea of it being a detail for other people to notice that something is up, and like it makes sense, they were the reflection of course they dont have one of their own, but also like it would be equally as angsty and cool for them to have a reflection and to constantly be having the existential crisis about 'thats a person in there. I was in there.' and people would probably make fun of them for being 'confused' about mirrors but no, there is so much to unpack there the art potential this character has is so so so much to me, either waking up your first moment of sentience either being surrounded by empty mirrors, not knowing what a mirror is anyway to know you even should have a reflection, or your first moments of sentience being surrounded by copies yourself, in a room where you are aware that they are people just as much as you are, that they are you but simultaneously a replica of you and the existential issues of that oh my god I need to draw them in a jesters costume or something and just make angst about them being 'the fool' or other assorted circus themed angst because my god I have brainwork's about this character you dont even know Fun fact about them: one of the errors in their being a replica is that they dont have claws, they were copied without them, and so just imagine you are brought into a world entirely unfamiliar to you, you dont know who or what or where you are, and you dont even have a way to defend yourself. everyone in the world who is like you naturally has a way to defend themself, except you, who arguably needs it the most. just another way that you were a mistake. (part 1 this got too long and it wont let me post, part 2 in reblogs)

Sibling time! Promised I’d rant about them since they won the poll and then got distracted immediately forgive me lmao. At long last though I present you lot with some sibling lore!

Ben has one older brother, William

I think he’s about 20 and going to a local art college 

He’s a very easy going and sweet guy, but can still be every bit as chaotic as Ben if given the chance 

He’s sneaky like that 

Due to a childhood accident he’s actually paralyzed from the waist down so he uses a wheelchair, which he has absolutely painted all over 

He’s also made some cool wheel covers for it but doesn’t have them on all the time 

Oh! And he plays guitar 

He and Ben are both adopted and were actually adopted together, but I’m not sure if they’re bio siblings or not

They just refused to be separated 

Will is a master at several card games and can and will take everything you own if you challenge him to poker so just 

Don’t do it lmao

He owns a cat who likes to sit on his lap while he paints and such and it’s really cute 

Oh also he tastes like sweet cinnamon 

Now for James’s siblings! 

He’s the oldest of four, with his three little siblings actually being triplets!

Their names are Patrica, Beatrice, and Jackie

Which obviously means he calls them PB&J

Two girls and a boy, and I think they’re probably somewhere around 9 years old 

Pat is the ‘oldest’ I think and she’s definitely the chaotic leader 

Gal really loves to drag her siblings into all sorts of trouble 

She loves sword fighting with her siblings and climbing every tree she sees 

The trio always comes home covered in dirt and leaves and James is the one who usually has to wash them off 

Which isn’t easy cause they bite 

Well, mostly Pat bites

Bea loves arts and crafts most of all 

She’ll make all kinds of little paper chains and draws over every available surface 

She also likes making little fairy houses 

Jackie is the little baby nerd of the group 

He loves space and dinosaurs and the ocean 

Little man is an expert 

Pat and him love playing dinosaurs while Bea prefers pretending to be a dolphin 

Little Jack is definitely the most affectionate of the lot 

He loves being carried around by James any chance he gets and will cling to his back like the little monkey he is

When he met (name) he felt instantly drawn to their fun personality, and how well they complimented each other. - YOU! made him feel wanted and understood, and it made Branch's heart melt.

- Holding hand is normally all you get with the occasional kiss from you of course always initiating physical touch since Branch is to afraid to do it first

- Definitely starts to try find wherever you are after he's had a bad day or had been in his head too long

- He plays it off subtly but he knows how to fluster you and he takes pride in that

2012 BOYS WITH A BIG SIS READER

When Splinter took you in, he was still a new father, the boys were still just tots and you were only around 4.

He'd found you lost and alone in the sewers, how you had even gotten there, he had no clue, but after discovering a note in your coat pocket asking for someone to care for you, he decided he would.

He raised alongside the boys, and there was never an issue.

You got along well with each of them and all four looked up to you as much as they did to him.

Splinter trained you in ninja arts, and you were patroling by fifteen.

By around that time, the boys had started their training, and Splinter often had you help him teach the boys.

You were Ane-chan to the boys, (Older sister, if it's wrong feel free to tell me.), And you always made sure to spend time with all of them growing up.

You'd make sure Donnie slept, and sit with him while he worked, and he appreciated how much you cared.

You'd let Raph vent to you, and you would rough house around alot, obviously he's a bit stronger than you naturally, so even if you won, it was usually sporting a few new bruises. He would always feel bad about it, but don't worry Red, Ane-chan can handle a few bruises.

You meditated often with Leo, and always listened when he info dumped about Space Heros. He always went to you if he struggled in training since he knew you'd do your best to actually help him.

You reserved all that pent up silly for Mikey, prank wars, staying up late with video games and moutain dew.

Honestly, I thinked you would have a moment like Po, where you find out you're adopted, and your just like,

"WHAT?"

Then you're talking to April and Casey about it like, "So, I just found my dad isn't really my dad."

Casey: "Your dad... the rat?"

*Nod*

Casey: "Are you-"

April: "That must have been quite difficult."

Moving back abit, when the Foot and Kraang start borderline harrassing the boys,

You're just about go kick Shredder's ass yourself,

Obviously Splinter tells you to cool it,

But after that you go with the boys everywhere you can.

You never take away Leo's role as the leader but rather offer yourself up as the voice of reason and peace among the team.

You do your best to make sure arguments are settled in a healthy way,

While also trying to keep those idiots from getting themselves killed.

The first time you faced Shredder he was like, "Wtf how the hell did Yoshi aquire you? And why?"

You almost succeded in kicking his ass,

Emphasis on almost,

You got your fucking leg fractured.

You had to stay in a hospital up top for a while.

Obviously it would have been hard for Splinter to send you to school,

So growing up he just homeschooled you to the best of his ability, and you actually homeschooled the boys.

So when April and Casey show up, April let's you know it's possible to get a highschool diploma online.

You're all like, "Hell yeah, let's do this."

But then, ya know,

Highschool.

Splinter taught you how to cook, and you were the designated chef of the household, (Even if it was just algea)

Eventually, you taugh Mikey, so now you guys share the kitchen.

Now about that wholesome moment with Splinter,

I have a little drabble thought.

So, imagine you're around 13, and your job is to watch the boys and make sure they don't hurt themselves or anything.

For some more context the boys are around 9.

So, anyway,

Splinter is out, and you're babysitting.

The boys are wrestling, which isn't too unusual, they do that alot ya know?

But, someone's foot lands were it shouldn't, and now Donnie's wrist is swelling and all four of them are crying.

You panic, you pick up Donnie and bring him to the kitchen and put some ice in his wrist.

After that, you move back to the living room, and do your best to calm evryone down.

Now, Splinter knew he could hear anything happening for quite a distance, so when he hears crying and your panicked voice, he instantly made his way home.

He ran in, expecting the worst, and was relieved to find no one was mortaly injured.

After you told him what happened, he calmed you and the boys, and after checking Donnie's wrist, he put the boys to bed.

The entire time, you sat on the couch, waiting for Splinter to come and scold you. You felt guilty and ashamed.

After all, Donnie got hurt on your watch.

It was your fault.

Splinter sat next to you, and you curled into yourself with tears running down your face, "Is Donnie gonna be ok?" you sniffled.

Splinter put a gentle hand on your shoulder, "He'll be fine, my dear."

You wiped your eyes with your sleeve, "I'm sorry, Father. I- I messed up, and then Donnie got hurt and I didn't know what do to-"

"Hey, hey. It was not your fault. Accidents happen. What is important is to learn how to prevent the same accident from happening again."

"B-but-"

"Ah, ah. No buts. It was not your fault. Now go tell your brothers goodnight. And then we can read stories." You nodded, smiling softly as Splinter pulled you in for a hug.

You wiped your eyes and entered the boys' shared room.

Mikey shot up from his bed, "(Name)!"

You shushed him, tucking him back in, and giving him a kiss on the forhead, "Quiet down, Angelo. It's bedtime."

He huffed, and you moved around the room, making sure each of your brother was tuckes in nice and warm.

As you moved to leave, there was a soft chorus of, "Goodnight, Ane-Chan."

You turned and smiled, "Goodnight little brothers."

Remember when he wanted to save his moon?? yeah? cool cause ill never forget that actually.) KC dying actually WOULDNT have been so bad (aside the... suddenly being an ass about it. But he was direct to bloodmoon about 'BRUH UR BEING USED.' and them never actually... bringing that up too much) angering BM enough to kill KC is actually pretty solid way to use the whole 'Bm not satisfied with Killing' as a very direct way KC's words last on BM especially BM's whole unstable emotions of NOT understanding the feelings theyre going through because of that other than anger (denial, grief, confusion and conflict of how Hurt that mustve been they wanted more family) oh this is getting long and im losing focus.

It'd be hilarious if some of the other pilgrim's decendants did still come visit Wukong. Like, imagine Tang or Pigsy being told that if they were EVER in trouble, go to this far off mountain. Or Mei's parents going camping in the forests because it's "protected by an old friend of our decendant" and it's the only place they feel safe enough to camo in without having to act like a proper royal, not realizing it's where Wukong lives. Imagine if they came across the pregnant king jsut a few years before the Canon events of the show because Wukong never bothered to seal the entrance of the waterfall off of his brother's decendants and baby Mei was just a little too curious while exploring near a waterfall or Tang tripped and fell against the barrier

Sandy also def provides safe passage to the island no matter what, even if it's a pain to navigate the volcanos.

I love the thought of Tang just tripping and finding the Monkey King.

Tang: *sees a pregnant monkey demon hanging out in Water-Curtain Cave* Wukong: *sees his Master's soul standing right in front of him* Tang: "Hi?" Wukong: "Hi..."

After some confusion, and breathless info-dumping from Tang, Wukong calmly explains why he's disappeared from the public eye. Tang makes a promise to stay quiet... but could he hear some tales of his adventures with the Pilgrims pretty please? Wukong chuckles as Tang takes out a notebook to record every word he says. Wukong gains a frequent vistor in the scholar. Tang would spend his life on the island if he could, but the craving for Pigsy's cooking is too strong a siren's call to stay forever.

Little Mei would be so sweet. Wukong feels the littlest hands on his stomach and just knows that fang-filled smile looking back at him. he helps reunite Mei with her parents, both Long-Ao's so very grateful and embarassed by the turn of events. The dragons were too busy in the moment just glad that they hadn't completely lost their daughter to wonder who this mysterious monkey was. It's only after they arrive home that they truly realise. Mei is allowed visit the island as much as she wants growing up. Uncle Sun is like the coolest person she knows! She's super-excited for Baby to get here, babbling for hours at the round stomach about dragons and horses and a super cool stablehand who was a monkey. Wukong adores his honorary niece.

Pigsy fleeing to the island when he was in a bad spot, only to meet someone who looked at him like he was an old friend. He brings Sandy around to meet the guy. They like to hang out without much said between them. Pigsy wonders how long this monkey demon has been pregnant for, since he's looked ready to pop for months now.

by the time Xiaotian/MK is actually born, the friends Wukong has made help him to deliver.

This cranky pants here? She's my beloved death domain cleric of Ilmater which I know sounds counterintuitive but hold on. She's part of this small sect of the church that's seen very poorly by both the regular person and fellow worshippers of Ilmater because they got the oh so great fortune of communicating with their god via receiving directions to where disasters are about to happen (be it wars or natural disasters or anything in between) so they can offer aid. So people tend to assume they cause these as opposed to simply going there to warn and help.

They're also all for necromancy (hence the domain), which probably doesn't help the reputation, and make a very strict distinction between the living and the dead. Their logic is a bit callous to be honest, saying that they're heading somewhere where there are about to be quite a few corpses laying around so they might as well use them to protect the living. It's fine and dandy until they resurrect a dead parent to act as a meat shield for their still living child you know. But I mean. It's efficient. Still not a good look tho. (You can probably imagine that Kelemvor and his worshippers hate these guys' guts lol)

But I could make a whole post about beliefs and rites of the sect so anyway.

Triell. She's originally from Menzo but eventually got out of there only to be captured by some particularly nasty duergar for a decade or two, which left her with an incredible disdain for shackles and being locked up and ever returning to the Underdark really. In comes Bellra, already a member of the sect, sent there to warn about what would soon be the collapse of a mine that would have a pretty devastating domino effect on that whole community, but she did manage to get a few people out of there, Triell included, who ended up joining her on her travels.

Yeah they want each other. No they refuse to act on it bc their whole purpose is continuing to walk into situations that might as well become their graves. Yes they're disasters.

At this point Triell is a pretty decent cleric on her own and travels to wherever she's sent, but unlike Bellra who's definitely the more likable and charming of the two, Triell tends to be pretty cynical and angry about being seen as the cause of something she actually wants to try and prevent or at least mitigate to the best of her abilities.

HOFAS Thoughts and Review!

This is also my review on Goodreads. Naturally, this is full of spoilers so proceed with caution!

4 star read!

This was a wild ride from start to finish. I found that you jumped right into the action and it literally didn't stop. The crossover with ACOTAR was very info-dump but I didn't mind since a) I don't remember anything lol and b) we needed to make the connection. I really loved seeing Nesta and Azriel in this different element. Given the timeline between ACOSF and HOFAS being about 3 months, I loved that Azriel and Nesta now know how to fight together and Nesta is so in touch with her powers. I love seeing how their friendship has bloomed.

Bryce is a menace and will forever be one. She's one of Sarah's MCs I relate to the least and therefore needed to warm up to her more. I found that in this book, I could despite a lot of her arrogant moments that will rub people the wrong way. I love Quinlar's love but didn't appreciate that she minimized Hunt's reaction to basically reliving much of his trauma with the first war. I'm glad she apologized and got to the point of understanding him but it left a little meh of a taste. The ending scene where he goes after her had my heart in pieces!! Through love, all is indeed possible and I love they were always with each other through it all.

Bryce basically being the High Lady of Dusk and controlling the land was amazing! I loved seeing those scenes. Saitha being the one to kneel first, declaring her as queen? Loved that. The two fae kings dying an awful death? Fabulously done! Hunt mf Althar removing his own slave halo and then removing Isaiah's while calling out that governor lady on her shit??? ADORE! Jesiba's everything in this book? I salute you, queen! Sabine's death??? The Under-King's death??? Literally had me gasping so much.

Ruhn my love, you will always be the Crown Prince of the Fae and that soundbite will always be on repeat every time I see your name lol.

Ruhn x Lidia's romance fell very flat to me. I love Ruhn and hated everything he had to go through but Lidia's character felt out of left field for me. I expected better/different? We find out out of NOWHERE that she's a mom of twins and suddenly, that's her whole personality. She went from this badass agent to everything being about her kids. There is NOTHING WRONG with her being a mother but why couldn't she be a mother AND care about the cause because it's the right thing to do? This was a missed opportunity in my opinion. I also felt like this was very self-insert of Sarah being a mom to have to include another character having kids. The constant talk about all these traumatized idiots having babies is getting on my last fucken nerves tbh. They have a million years to live so can we, I don't know, let them LIVE for five seconds without the absolute need to "start a family"? Let them go to therapy damn it. Sarah constantly writes about how awful it is that fae are obsessed with breeding and whatnot, yet every single of one her characters talks about babies...pls sarah, I beg. Give me ONE otp that doesn't have children. I know she's a HEA author which is what I love about her and her romances but it doesn't always have to end with kids and I just wish we'd see that more. Ruhn and Lidia did not strike me as characters who would be parents at all but now, Ruhn is a stepdad to the Hind's secret twins? It's very weird to me but I hope maybe down the line, we get to see Lidia realize that she is a whole person outside of being a mom. Aside from all that, the rescue scene was amazing. I loved seeing her destroy that asshole she had to endure and I just want to say, Aelin would be cheering mad hard at her for it! It felt like Lidia's fire abilities, the stag relation, and her son's name were all a nod to TOG and I loved that.

As for all the other characters, I really enjoyed seeing Ithan come into his own even though my guy was making mad stupid decisions along the way. His moment with Connor will always have my heart! l also loved the little bits of Ithan and Perry so much! Tharion my love, you will always be famous for making the most desperately dumb decisions before passing that one brain cell you have to Ithan but you know what? Sathia is going to be great for him and I ship it with my whole chest. Ari was wasted in this book and her ungrateful attitude annoyed me. Sigrid's whole plotline was pointless. Declan and Flynn are the best buds and I love them so much. Baxian, you are a gem! Pax being the one responsible for the actual HOFAS while being a healer who is making those antidotes was a great twist and I love it for her. The little fire spirits were so cute and their little moment with the viper queen made me cackle. The Viper Queen can suck it but I am also so very curious about what will happen now considering how that scene ends with Tharion/Ari/Sathia/Colin. I have a feeling all these characters will be showing up again in the future and I'd be excited to read how that will go. I have a feeling it might be done ACOSF style - in that, it'll be standalone in the CC world.

Bonus Chapters:

Bryce, Azriel, Nesta - hilarious and also so cute how Nesta was fascinated by the music playing from Bryce's phone. Azriel doesn't have a mate or partner so let that be clear LOL. Also Nesta already thinking about babies makes me wanna die tbh.

RuhnLidia - It was cute that she proposed and Ruhn is such a little dork crying left and right hahaha.

Quinlar - Hilarious how the big strong thunder boy was scared of those little dolls HAHA.

Ember/Randall - This made me want the Archeron sisters to have a mother figure so badly! The moment with Nesta and Ember hugging was so sweet in the book. I know people are mad at Rhys for yelling at Nesta but y'all...the whole world was at stake and that was a scary decision to make on Nesta's part given how the Pyrthian is STILL traumatized by the Asterie. I don't love how much he yelled but I get it.

Despite having parts I didn't like, I did overall really have fun with this. I think Sarah always does a great job with the action scenes in the end and giving us that found family connection. I could do without having the whole girl boss/girl power white feminist nonsense constantly shoved in our faces but alas! As I said, I still really enjoyed it! It had a lot of moments that pulled on all my emotions as every SJM book does. I will always enjoy what she puts out because I take it all at face value and read it to have fun. Sarah always knows how to enjoy her writing and you can tell while reading and for me, that's more than enough. The lore/plot is secondary to the characters for me and that is always how she sucks me in. She writes compelling characters who have amazing adventures and friendships that you feel through the pages and I will always enjoy that. Can't wait for more books! Here's to hoping we hear something about ACOTAR soon especially now that Bryce gave both swords back to Nesta! Can't wait to see how it plays out!

001 The Simpsons!

Favorite character: Of course it’s Lisa Simpson. 🤣 When I first started watching The Simpsons, I was really intrigued by her character, and she grew to be my favorite character ever!

Least Favorite character: It would have to be Elizabeth Hoover. Lisa’s teacher at Springfield Elementary School. I just never liked the woman, at least with Edna Krabappel, who seemed like she didn’t like Bart. The thing was, she did actually care about her students and Bart, unlike Miss Hoover, who really doesn’t give a rat’s ass about any of them and has actually bullied an 8-year-old just because she felt like Lisa was a show-off. (Granted, Lisa can be a little full of herself at times, but she’s just a kid, and Miss Hoover is an adult who has personal issues and is taking them out on a little girl.) (Hehehe, I really info dump when it comes to a character I don’t like lol.)

5 Favorite ships (canon or non-canon): Lisa and Jessica are my OTP forever and ever! And I could go on all day about why I love them, but then I wouldn’t be able to talk about any other ship lol. I like to ship Lisa with the twin weasels ( I affectionately call them this and like to think Lisa does too 😂), Sherri, and Terri Mackleberry in a polycule V-type relationship (no incest), with Lisa as the hinge. (It probably goes without saying that I also ship the twins’ separately with Lisa too, and it’s usually Sherri. 😆) third pairing (yes, we are counting the twins’ as just the second ship, okay? They’re a unit right now, so I can say more ships,😂) would be Lisa and Allison. I love to think that if they had stayed very close friends, it would have turned into a friends-to-lovers situation, and I just think their relationship would be very cute and sweet, and they would grow old together. And my fourth pair I fancy is Lisa Simpson and Francine Rhenquist... You all are probably noticing a pattern... And you’re right because I have a thing—a thing for shipping Lisa with bullies... I just think she can be a bully whisperer and tamer, okay?! 🤣 And now, last but not least, my final and fifth pairing is Allison Taylor and Hubert Wong. I just think these two are too cute for each other! And they are just two cute little nerds in love. (Shout out to my sister @twisting-echo for getting me into shipping these two nerds).

A random thought: I once had a random thought about making a fic where it would be an AU where everyone had animal-like features, and I had wanted the whole Simpsons’ family to be cats. 😅🤣

An unpopular opinion: Oh, boy, here it goes... My unpopular opinion is that I really haven’t liked how they have written Marge in the newer seasons of The Simpsons. Just some of the storylines they do for her feel like they’ve done it a thousand times before, and it’s gotten old. And I have never liked how they have made it so that Homer has no problems bonding with his daughters, especially Lisa, but nothing with Bart. The same goes for Marge. I never like how in some episodes she can’t bond with her daughter, but honestly, it’s the writing overall because they always make either Lisa an asshole to her own mother or Marge is the asshole. Just why can’t they have cute bonding episodes for the whole family like what I’ve seen in Bob’s Burgers? 😭

My canon OTP: I wouldn’t say OTP, but I had always thought Comic Book Guy and Kumiko’s relationship was surprisingly cute and sweet. 

Non-canon OTP: This wouldn’t be me if I didn’t say it was Lisa and Jessica, now would it? Yessss, they’re my little babies! This ship is very dear to me; it’s been my OTP for years. 🤣💕💕💕

Most badass character: Gina Vendetti. I love her and think she’s a little badass. I also love to ship her with Bart. She’s his scary Amazon girlfriend who terrifies everyone around her lol.

Pairing I am not a fan of: Milhouse and Lisa; just no, I have never thought they worked well together ever! It's just sad to see him pine for someone who does not like him at all. Seriously, it was a running joke that Lisa settled for him, and that’s just sad. Millhouse deserves someone who actually cares and will love him, and Lisa needs to be with someone she’s not settling with because it’s all she’s ever known, and she knows he won’t leave her because he loves her too much and it’s just not healthy or fair to either one of them. (I love my girl, but she has to let him go so he can move on).

Character I feel the writers screwed up (in one way or another): I have never liked the slow decent at which they have taken Lisa’s character in how the show writes her. Back when the show first came out, she was intelligent, kind, and passionate about the planet and all living things. Mind you, she is still very intelligent, but they have taken some parts of her personality and turned it up to an 180. She is flawed, which is why I love her, but over the years, they have made her more of a snotty brat at times who throws her intelligence in people’s faces, and it doesn’t seem like she’s that kind anymore, and most of what she rebels against feels performative and hollow now. She could always be somewhat intolerant of opinions that differed from her own, often refusing to consider alternative perspectives and showing a feeling of self-righteousness. But it feels like that’s how she is all the time now, and I just haven’t been a big fan of what her character has become.

Favourite friendship: Now I’m going to completely talk about a “fanon” friendship since The Simpsons didn’t give me it in the canon of the show. I mean, sure, I could talk about Millhouse and Bart’s friendship, but sadly, while I like it, it is not my favorite, and the truth is, sometimes they abused each other more than they were good friends with each other lol. 😂😅 No, I’m going to talk about a friendship between Lisa Simpson, Allison Taylor, and Hubert Wong. I always thought it would have been nice for Lisa to at least have someone who was her friend in the show, someone she could bond with, just like Bart with Millhouse. But no, they have always made her a loner just for the sake of writing that not a lot of people like her in Springfield (poor baby, 😭) and they wasted the potential of Lisa and Allison’s friendship. In the show, they always show Lisa as a miserable adult who’s so bitter about everything. I like to think she would have grown up a little differently if she had at least one consistent friend (not Janey; Janey was just as bad as the twins’ with the way they bullied Lisa). And honestly, it would have been nice to see her hang out with two other people who shared similar interests as she did, and it just would have been cute. I definitely have more things to say about their friendship, my sister and I have made up in fanon over the years, but that’s definitely for a different post lol.

on the zvezdochoty

basically i thought it would be interesting if they were some sort of Adepti-like group of non-humans from long, long ago. so like- normal animals that attained higher thought, except these ones didn't do it via cultivating spiritual energy, so they don't have the type of powers that Illuminated Beasts in Liyue do. i think i had Guizhong or Morax ask in the fic if it was a collaboration, but Pavel said it was a sum of efforts – basically illuminaiton via collective knowledge gathered as a united group as opposed to the Adepti's method of going about it on their own.

my idea was that, around the time of the Primordial One's unified civilization, a large pack of foxes somewhere near what would later become Inazuma became really close with the humans there. almost like dogs becoming smarter as we domesticated them, the foxes started picking up on human knowledge as a group. they loved their human companions so much that they started unknowingly tapping into the flow of the leylines and how it bent and moved around the humans (which were different from the humans that Celestia later took dominion over, as the Primordial One's direct presence in the land sort of... altered the way humans worked). in much the same way Illuminated Beasts in Liyue can create a human form after acquiring enough energy, the foxes gathered enough energy together that they managed to create, as a collective, a different form for themselves, one that looked more like their human companions. since their method of gathering energy wasn't as intensive as the Adepti's, though, they were unable to become completely like humans (keeping their ears and tails), and they had to, at some point, decide whether to stay in their new forms or forever revert back to foxes. basically they didn't have enough power to transform back and forth at will.

unluckily for them, it was around that time that Celestia showed up and the war began. they had made the decision to remain human-like, and so now they couldn't just hide among the foxes, so they had no choice but to run. they went far far away, eventually finding a quiet spot in Snezhnaya, where they ended up settling.

this was still the first generation of them btw, the ones Pavel refers to as the First Ones. they migrated from the Inazuman area up northwest, and settled in Snezhnaya while the war happened in the background. as they hid, they had no choice but to start a little civilization of their own, divorced from their human companions. so since they were in the frigid north, the sky back then did produce auroras. the Primordial One's humans had always looked up at the sky (since that's where their god had come from) and had loved the moons, and so the foxes turned up to the sky for inspiration as well. the auroras fascinated them, which is why they were all the more shocked and devastated when, upon the ending of the war, they stopped appearing. instead, two of their former human companions' beloved moons vanished, and the stars appeared out of nowhere. in some sort of... ode to their human companions, they dedicated themselves to observing and studying this new phenomenon, which is where they got their name from.

from then on, the Zvezdochoty more or less kept a low profile. even when Celestia eventually realized they had survived the war – since they weren't powerful beasts like Liyue's Illuminated Beasts, and couldn't control the elements on their own, Celestia saw them as no immediate threat. the First Ones even threatened Celestia with spreading the word of what had actually happened, and so they were left alone under the condition that they would tell nobody, and that they wouldn't stick their noses into their affairs.

i'm pretty sure the rest did get explained in the fic. the Zvezdochoty kept their word on not snitching, but they insisted in studying the stars. they managed to get as far as basically discovering astrology before the Morepesok massacre took place, so.

i never mentioned the Inazuma bit because i figured it was irrelevant, but i did remember thinking about it. it would explain in-universe why Inazuma later held reverence for the kitsune, out of all the Yokai (beyond their own historical figures) – some ancient murals must've remained from the original civilization of the humans that lived there and their fox friends.

as for why they're known as Snezhnayan Fox Spirits outside of Snezhnaya, it's because they're such a recluse group that most of the region is low-key convinced they're not real. like- outside of Driver's Stop, Snezhnayan settlements speak of them as though they're legends. as for whether the rest of Teyvat thinks they're real or not, i think it depends on who you ask. those areas that have an abundance of non-humans likely think they're probably real, but can't confirm. like- the Adepti of Guili Assembly probably assume they're real, while the humans would likely be like 'that sounds like Adepti behavior' abt them. in somewhere like Mondstadt, tho, where non-human activity is.... low??? they might be more on the 'legends' camp of the rumor.

on the volchiy

i think most of the stuff about the Volchiy got into the fic, thanks to Depth Claws and Nadezhda. the biggest problem here was that i started writing them pre-chasm, so all we had to go on about Bonanus was those two shots of her from the Yakshas trailer. i thought, since i was already going off limited information, that it would be hilarious if they were a mountain chicken case – their species' name as it's known outside of Snezhnaya would confuse more than it would clarify. the wolf part of the name came from how they would look to a normal human if they caught sight of them trying to hunt a land animal with nothing but their giant claws (like some sort of massive horned werewolf). the crab part, well, because of the shell.

other than that, i think i did mention how they used to be far, far more of them; but as they branched off and the lands started to shift, the only remaining group became Depth Claws', so. the reason why they didn't get along with Lord Yuriy's humans was because long ago, when they were a much larger population, they used to dominate the reefs and coastal areas, thus depriving the humans off fish. as their numbers dwindled and the humans advanced towards the coast, the feud became mutual, and the original reasons vanished into the tides of time as the Volchiy started to settle farther and farther away from land. by the time it was only Depth Claws' group, going anywhere closer to the shores would just be asking for trouble with the resentful humans, so.

anyway- i think that's mostly all i had on them. if i ever thought of something else, i never included it, and it was therefore likely not all that interesting or relevant.

seungcheol: this puts him in a very precarious position because he’s supposed to be the leader. he’s supposed to be unbiased and love all of his members equally. but it’s hard to do that when one of said members also has heart eyes for you. he’d sort of give that member the silent treatment, and try spending more time with you as a result. he isn’t eager to tell you how he feels because he’s terrified you’ll reject him, but he doesn’t want to miss his chance so he’ll work up the courage to confess, waiting for the right moment.

jeonghan: unless he’s convinced you’re the love of his life, he’d tell the other member to go for it and let you go </3 if it’s just a simple crush, jeonghan figures it will pass eventually and he’ll find someone new. he doesn’t think it’s worth it to fight over a crush with someone he’s forced to spend all his time with and has to work with for at least the next seven years.

joshua: he’ll try and tell you how he feels first, beating the other guy to it. joshua isn’t sure if you’ll reciprocate but he wants to put himself out there so at least he won’t spend the rest of his life wondering “what if”.

jun: he’s more annoyed about it than he lets on. whoever the other member is, he’ll kind of laugh about it with them in the moment, but then when he’s alone again he’ll sulk. his moodiness might even bleed into his hangouts with you, leading you to ask him what’s wrong. he’ll either spill everything or just pretend like he’s tired, either way he’s getting cuddles from you as a result.

soonyoung: it turns into a sitcom-level competition for this dude, like who can win your heart faster— it doesn’t matter who it is, he’s going to fight for you and will do whatever it takes to come out on top.

wonwoo: he’s sooo so shy, it’d be like his worst nightmare to learn that one of his members also likes you. he would need major evidence that you also like him to even begin to consider confessing to you so he’d have to sort of… drop hints and test the waters to try and gauge your feelings.

jihoon: he hates conflict so he’d let the other member make a move first. if you don’t reciprocate, then he’ll shoot his shot and try and win you over fair and square. but if you do reciprocate, jihoon will simply be bitter about it forever and hold a grudge against them until the day he dies.

seokmin: poor guys panics, and ends up telling you everything, even though you didn’t ask. he basically blurts out all of his feelings and also mentions that he knows his member has a crush on you too. and then after dumping all of this info on you he’ll just. dip. he’d run off, leaving you there to process all the things he’d just said.

mingyu: listen, he gives everything his best shot. he knows he’s a good looking dude and thinks he might have a decent chance with you so he’d go for it. he thinks he can offer a lot too, but then again so can any member of seventeen which makes him a little less confident about the whole thing. at the very least, he knows he’s taller than the other guy which is a win for him (but only if you’re into tall guys).

minghao: minghao is quiet and reserved, but when it comes to love i think he’s a bit more headstrong. he’s a romantic, but also a realist, meaning he knows he has to work for what he wants. he can’t just sit around and wait for a relationship to fall into his lap and if he wants to be with you he needs to speak up. putting himself out there like that would be sooo difficult for him but he’s able to convince himself that it’s worth it for the opportunity to be with you.

seungkwan: he would honestly get pretty jealous— as anyone would if they were suddenly competing for their crush— and would do his best to steer you away from said competitor. he’d suddenly start spending all of his time with you so that the other member couldn’t get you alone, just silently hoping you aren’t getting sick of having him around.

vernon: he doesn’t think he’s bothered by it until he watches you laughing at their joke and realizes “oh fuck, i can’t let this happen”. however, how he decides to fix it… he doesn’t even know. he’d have to ask one of his other members (one that isn’t also in love with you) for advice.

chan: it’s tricky for him as the maknae because technically there’s a degree of respect he’s supposed to pay the older members but he’d honestly just say fuck it and do what he wants (he always does anyway). and in this case what he wants is you. he’s too proud to bow out so he’d be up front with you and lay it all out there.

Dude where was this blog when I was 12? I was obsessed with the Brotherhood so much I had the whole family tree memorized. I would info dump at the drop of a hat. I would be so feral about these sad old men and no one- not my family, my friends, or even my dogs- understood what the FUCK I was even talking about so eventually I just shut up and stopped thinking about it. And then my dash is full of Knuckles and now I’m like *gasp* “THE SAD OLD MAN CLUB!” and then you are just here??? Talking about this thing that I literally thought no one except me cared about??? Hello??? Shall we have a spring wedding???

MY BROTHER IN ECHIDNA I FEEL YOU ON A METAPHYSICAL LEVEL!!! I have never connected so hard to an ask in my life. I was hella obsessed with these guys in my teens! I knew their family tree by heart, knew their lore inside and out, I doodled Edmund and Dimitri in my science notes in class constantly, shit these guys lived rent free in my brain with how much I daydreamed about them! I might have had like 3 people tops on deviantart at the time that I could even talk to about these guys, who actually knew who they were and even made art and content for them.

Then came a period of time I ended up leaving the sonic fandom entirely, probably a mixture of being made to feel discouraged in liking my interest from my offline peers and family (back when liking Sonic din't made you a cool kid but a target) as well as getting hyperfixated on other things I just... moved on sadly. It wasn't until last year I want to say, that I stumbled upon @julie-su's art and realized that it was made in recent year, that I got genuinely excited for these guys and the sonic fandom again. You can also imagine my subsequent heartbreak when I found out about the Ken Penders lawsuit and how all of these beloved characters ended up... But as the saying goes if you want something done right you gotta do it yourself! Got sad that there's no more art of these dudes time to make some! It's how I ended up coming back to tumblr and getting to meet more echidna loving individuals and honestly I wouldn't go back not one bit. I'm sad that I feel like I missed out on the Archie comic fandom era back when the comics were still publishing, but I'm glad to be making up some lost time by indulging in the grandpa gang with my online buds. I can't imagine my life without these sad old dudes living rent free in my mind, they keep me entertained, they make me laugh, and bring me much comfort. It makes me so happy to see fans of these guys and new content being made for them just get me so fucking excited and happy.

Most of the time making content for them seems like I am screaming into a void considering how obscure they can be. But in the end, I don't I think I have had more fun creating art and writing than when I started drawing them again. In a way I keep them alive in my memories through my works and that makes me happy. I know the few that know and love these characters also love to see them still around, and have been big inspirations for me to create my own stories and headcanons for these characters and I will forever be grateful for them enriching my life with their creativity. Always a delight to meet someone that loves these tired old men as much as me, your comment literally made my day! Thank you for being awesome and for even liking my works, It really means a lot to know theres still love out there for these characters. I'm always happy to chat with a fellow guardian fan so please don't be a stranger! Besides, we have to frolic down the hills of Angel Island in the eve of our honeymoon~

I’ve been procrastinating on making an update for forever so I’m just gonna do a me-info dump here. Ignore it if you wish. If you want, just scroll to the end for the cat pictures.

Firstly: I feel bad about not posting anything in so long so I’m gonna put some of my recent notebook pages here.

Cool. Nextly, I’m gonna complain. Stop yourselves in, folks.

I’m allergic to a lot of things. Dust, pollen, dogs, cats, and birds to name some. Where I am currently staying, there are two cats and a rooftop full of pet birds. Because of the bird issue, my face swelled up. (Under my eyes mostly. My right eye was particularly bad.) So guess who got to go to the doctor on vacation???? Me! It’s me. After that, I was put on 3 medicines for day and night for 3 days. However, one of the meds I was taking was too strong to be taken twice a day and I was struck with strong waves of nausea. And you know what happened next?? I got put on medicine to cure my medicine. Guys this is so funny to me, I actually cannot keep a straight face anymore. I mean, not that I could before, but… ANYWAY. I was given 3 more pills to take and ummmm I may or may not have forgotten to take them last night/this morning. But anyway I think that I should cure my too-much-medicine-for-my-weak-self problem by NOT taking more medicine but I’m not an expert I guess.

and I thought it was milk and I started cracking up because the allergen information says contains milk and that’s really funny to me cuz no duh it has milk in it but maybe that’s just me.

It was yogurt. Not milk.

Also also, I left a water bottle in the freezer overnight because I wanted cold water yesterday but then I forgot about it and this morning I woke up and it was just a large block of ice in the bottle. I’m fairly sure I’m going insane because I found that really funny too.

The other kitty, Zoobie is actual royalty and oh my gosh I love her. (Even though I’m teeechnically not allowed to touch her but shhhhhhh) Look at her gorgeous eyes. Also there’s a Jerry somewhere in there that was too cute not to add in.

This is Aleksi. They are an avatar of the eye the works along side Elias (not for the institute, they actually don’t like Elias they think he’s fuckin weird but they are a nosey ass bitch so they’ll do “favors” in exchange for access to info) they’re an only child from a pretty rich family. they are visually in their late 20s though I haven’t solidified anything except they were 18 in 2002 (which would make them specifically not late 20s teehee) they were first marked by the fears bc they were a competitive gymnast that was exceeding their current coach’s level of skill so they went searching for a new one and found a woman in London named Katrine Hoss, she was an avatar of the spiral (affected by a leitner like Jared). She had her own weird shit going on but Aleksi ignored 90% of it. She started training Aleksi and after a short time they started rapidly exceeding their skill level and their body started to change (twinkified basically, they weren’t always that tall) with the occasional vague traumatic experience happening during practices and (about a year or two later) after their dad got into a verbal scuffle with katrine about not being enough for their kid some even whackier shit started to happen, their dad died and the same leitner that affected Katrine was found by Aleksi shortly after their dad’s death, obvious connections were made and Aleksi quit competing and practically threw themselves into figuring out wtf was up with this “magic” book, que them finding the institute and Elias stinking a deal since he was able to tell Aleksi was already marked by the spiral. They typically play with the memories of institute employees to make them think he’s worked there forever so he doesn’t have to worry about questions, around season 3 when Jon goes a searching for avatars and gets more knowing powers he figures out Aleksi isn’t actually an employee and just fuckin weird. Little details aren’t ironed out, but I’ve got the big picture and I love my little blorbo. Oh hes also a bit of a sassy ass (and a flirt, but just to make people mildly uncomfy and question themselves. They think it’s funny) and they’ve got a bit of a temper but you wouldn’t be able to tell until they blow a fuse and they’ve kinda got weird triggers for said fuse. Love me a loose cannon. I didn’t realize how much I just info dumped about this until just now lol, I hope you enjoy. :)
