My dad is here working on the basement again and he came into the bedroom where I was resting with the cats to give me an update.
and this huge 70-year old midwestern man who can't help but mutter half-hearted cats-are-weird insults every time he sees a feline, starts gently petting Yogurt and adding words like "cute" and "little"
#yogurt#I have yet to meet a single human being who does not instantaneously fall in love with Yogurt specifically#he has mind control powers#no one can resist#my dad has that weird Midwestern Man thing where cats=snooty and dogs=man's best friend#it's rooted in like weird blind sexism#even though my dad is anything but actually sexist#he nontheless thinks all dogs are good boys and all cats are mean girls#I mean Bonnie is happy to be called a good boy as long as she gets a french fry from grandpa#it's just funny to me that in his head animals come in Absolute Genders which are also Good vs. Evil

Good morning Miss Winnie. (Part II)
Part I
Pairing: Dean Winchester X Reader.
Rating: Gen.
Summary:
Two weeks after Dean became a father, it's time to jump back on the hunting horse. But he's hesitant.
Notes: Non-canon, no time line. And I don't ever want kids. But I just became an aunt and I sort of need to get this out of my system! Short and I'm not promising that I won't continue this. Who knows really. Finally this was written after I'd taken my usual nightly gummy.
“Bonnie?”
You shot Dean a look across the kitchen. He was cooking eggs on the stove while you were nursing. Castiel was the only other member of the bunker awake at six a.m. and, fortunately, occupied the library. It wasn’t that you cared about the other men seeing you breastfeeding, it was how they reacted to it. Both became very awkward and outwardly attempted to look anywhere but at your breasts.
“You can’t accept Winnie, but you pick Bonnie?”
Dean shrugged.
“I was just thinking if we had a boy we could call him Clyde. We’d have our own little gang.”
“Firstly, I’m not doing this again. And secondly, Bonnie and Clyde were felons.”
“What do you mean ‘you’re not doing this again?’ Don’t most women go crazy for more kids? They smell the baby's head and some hoo-doo helps them forget about the pain and bodily fluids.”
“Yeah, well. You try being in labour for damn near forty eight hours and shitting yourself in a room full of people. Including the man you love. Then come back and tell me you’ve forgotten about it and wanna do it all over again.”
“Point taken.” Dean laughed, plating up eggs and bacon for them both, “And you didn’t shit yourself by the way.”
“I didn’t?”
“I think I’d remember.”
You smiled at the plate of food and carefully lifted the baby from your breast. She’d long since stopped feeding and was instead squirming, ready to be winded.
“I can take it from here.” Dean reached down and lifted the little girl up into his arms. He held her upright against his chest and began rubbing circles into her small back, “There we go kiddo. Get it up.”
“Be careful.” You warned.
“I’m not taking any chances.” Dean gestured to the polka-dot muslin cloth on his shoulder.
You watched as he gently walked your daughter around the kitchen, her little body squirming while he cooed into her ear. She made several little squeaking noises, threatening to cry, only to be brought back to earth by her father’s tender voice.
“Come on now, no tears. I’ve got you.”
Your eyes locked with Dean’s for a moment, both reflecting a soft smile. He was proving to be an excellent father, not that you’d doubted him for a second. But Sam had. He’d been very vocal about Dean knowing nothing about babies and how, despite the fact that he was happy for you both, he thought this whole ‘raising a family thing’ was a bad idea.
“You guys are great together! But I don’t think this is the right environment for a kid.” Or something along the same bullshit.
Dean had been adamant about her though. He damn near refused to speak to Sam until he stopped with his questions and logical answers. Sure you both had been sceptical about bringing a child into this life, but neither of you had actively prevented it. If it happened, it happened.
Speaking of the devil. Sam groaned and stretched his arms above his head, stumbling into the kitchen. He dug the palm of his hands into his eyes, drawing them down his face afterwards.
“Morning. Coffee’s in the pot.” Dean said, his voice shifting from Dad to brother by just an octave.
Sam poured himself a hefty mug before offering more to the kitchen. You declined but insisted that he fill up Deans.
“He’ll need the caffeine for your hunt.”
“Oh so you’re back on the job then?” Sam questioned, his eyebrows rising.
Dean’s brow furrowed as he shifted the little one on his chest. He searched her face, the cogs visibly turning in his head.
“I’ll get back to you on that one.”
“What? I thought you’d be happy to get back on the horse.” You’d assumed that after being out of work for almost two weeks that Dean would be craving a hunt, but his face said otherwise.
“Yeah. I mean I am. But she - “
“She’ll be right here when you get back.” You interrupted, “It’s a simple in and out job. Right Sam?”
“Sure. Run of the mill ghost in the attic for some old friend’s of Bobby’s.” Sam took a lengthy sip of his coffee, “And it pays too.”
“See? And we could use the cash for Winnie.”
Sam scoffed, barely holding onto the coffee in his mouth. He looked between you both and then to his niece.
“Winnie?”
“Short for Winchester but not her name. Just a placeholder until we find the perfect one.” You inform, “But what’s so wrong with Winnie anyway? It’s a perfectly acceptable name.”
“Nothing wrong with it at all. It’s just not what I pictured you both to come up with.”
“Fortunately it’s not.” Dean added, shifting the baby from one arm to the other as she reached up with her little hands, “As for the hunt, I’m not sure.”
He offered a finger for her hand to close around, eyes never leaving her. the features on his face softened, lips almost pulling downwards into a frown.
You exchanged a knowing look with Sam.
“If this is about Win- her- you don’t need to worry. I can cope fine on my own for one night.” You offered
“Yeah but what if it isn’t just one evening?” Dean answered, his voice doing nothing to disguise the concern he was feeling.
“It’s only a few towns over. We’ll be home by four am - ”
“But what if something goes wrong? Huh? Then what? I’ve left my wife without a husband, my little girl without a father. And -”
You jumped to your feet at the distress in his voice and rushed to loop an arm around his middle.
“Don’t say that. It’s a run of the mill job, something you guys have done one thousand times over. Nothin’ bad is gonna happen other than a few bruises.” You laid your head on his shoulder, eyes coming to settle on the little lady in his arms, “I can deal with those. And she’ll not know any different.”
With a deep sigh, Dean kissed you gently on the head. It was an uncharacteristic display of affection, especially in front of his brother, but you hadn’t the heart to react. You knew he was feeling vulnerable, that much was clear in his reaction, and to draw attention to it would only make things worse. Instead you settled against him and allowed his warmth and the soothing sounds of your baby to still your own anxiety.
You’d be lying if you didn’t admit that some part of you was fearful of your husband walking out of the bunker and never coming home. Hunting was a dire job, one which had claimed the life of many of your comrades. Dean may be an experienced hunter, renowned in his own right, but he certainly wasn’t immune to unfortunate outcomes. That much had been proven time and time again.
Lost in thought, the only sounds in the kitchen were the gentle fussing of your daughter and the whirring of the circulation fans.
Finally Castiel broke the silence with his sudden entrance. He appeared in a flurry of feathers, one coming to land on the table top by your abandoned coffee cup.
“We have doors, Cas. Use ‘em.” Dean warned, pulling your daughter closer to his chest as she began to fuss.
“I’m sorry, Dean. It’s a force of habit.” Castiel answered, taking a seat next to Sam, “I startled her.”
“You think?!”
You moved to take the baby from Dean but he shook his head, whispering a small ‘I got this’ back to you as he started to rock her from side to side. But it was no good, her cries grew louder and more furious. You began to wonder how those big sounds could even come from such a small creature.
Before you could offer your help again Castiel brushed past you.
“I didn’t mean to scare her.” He said, coming to stand in front of Dean “Is there anything I can do?”
“Here” to your surprise, Dean held your daughter out towards the angel, “You can settle her down while I grab her diaper bag.”
You lean in and quickly sniff.
“I don’t think she needs changed, D.”
“Well I don’t know what else to do. She -”
Castiel reached forward and lifted the infant from Dean. He brought her to settle in the crook of his arm, offering up his fingers for her to grab at. Gradually she began to quiet, her hands reaching up for Castiel’s and her eyes wide, staring into his face.
You and Dean watched on in outward confusion. Castiel, to your knowledge, had never handled a baby before. At least not in recent years.
“How did you do that?” Dean asked almost aggressively, “She was cryin’ up a storm seconds ago and you just took her and nothing.”
“Did you use your grace?” Sam suggested.
“She’s much too small to handle my grace in any capacity. It would kill her.”
You considered jumping in and taking her from Castiel but stopped yourself. She was settled and happily holding onto the angel's fingers. No sense in ruining it. Beside you Dean was tense, clearly struggling with something along the same lines. His face was etched in hard lines and you could see his brows furrowing.
Gently you looped your arm through his and guided him to his long forgotten coffee cup. He moved but his eyes never left you daughter in the angel’s arms.
“So,” Sam cleared his throat, “About this hunt.”
“What about it?” Dean glared at him over the rim of his cup.
“Are you in or -”
“He’s in.” You answer before the question could even be finished.
“Wha - I -”
“Oh come on. You got this. I can handle her and Cas will be here if I need any help. Right Cas?” The angel gave something akin to a positive response, “You have to get back out there at some point.”
Dean’s gaze flickered from Sam to you, finally coming to land on Castiel. He watched the angel gently swaying the little girl in his arms and the lines on his face began to soften.
“Hmmm. You’re sure about this?” He asked.
“Positive.”
“If there’s any trouble, anything at all, you call me.”
“Sure.” You smiled, “But I doubt Winnie will be as much of an issue as your malevolent spirit.”
Dean chuckled, accompanied by Sam.
“God, we’re really going to have to talk about her name when I get back.”

If your requests are open... could you write headcanons of the cod boys with a fem s/o who loves flowers? Like everything she owns is a floral print, she grows her own flower garden, she usually wears long flowy floral print skirts, etc. Do you think they would ever surprise her with flowers? Or do that cliche but lovely thing where a man will pick a wildflower and put it in the women's hair. 💓 Sometimes I feel a little silly over how much I love flowers, I let out a little gasp ever time i see them. 💐
— the cod : mw ii men + s/o who loves flowers ! characters : simon ‘ghost’ riley, john ‘soap’ mactavish, alejandro vargas, captain john price, phillip graves, kyle ‘gaz’ garrick, rodolfo parra fandom : call of duty modern warfare ii tags : f!reader rating : g for general , sfw!
01 | Knowing how lonely and anxious you get when he leaves for missions, Price decided to build you a garden, knowing it would take your mind off worrying. And it worked: by summer, the whole backyard was in full bloom, a reflection of Price's love and your devotion, seen in every petal. The sight of napping by one of the chairs with a book open by your lap or trousers stained with dirt from being knee-deep in a cluster of bellflowers, cottage pinks, and delphiniums is always something that Price looks forward to when he gets home.
02 | When you told Soap how much you loved flowers, he went above and beyond to show you he remembers. You'd open the door to greet him home — and he'd have a bouquet in his hand, hoping that the pattern of roses, thistles, and bluebells would distract you from the broken nose he got on duty ( you still scolded him.) " Flower delivery for my bonnie lass !" He'd announce playfully, never failing to make you smile each time. And whenever you show him your new skirt or blouse, he'd be ready with a compliment, telling you dreamily how the floral pattern matches your eyes.
03 | You weren't surprised at how good Gaz was with plants, nurturing and gentle by nature: his softer traits tend to get overlooked because of his profession. But when he's home with you, helping you change the pot of your carnations, you can't help but melt at how gentle he's being. He's growing into a bigger mother hen than you when it comes to your flowers— " I think we should take the lads ( the pot of blue and purple lobelias) out for some sun, love." Making the best of his time home, the two of you would often garden and go hiking together, stopping by the trails to pick some violets on the way home. 04 | It's obvious from the beginning that Alejandro is a roses man. Romantic and down-right chivalrous, he always comes home with a bouquet of them: a cluster of classic, deep, red petals between his fingers. The colonel loves how sweet they smell on you, buying you attar oil from the market so you can thread it through your hair or pour some into the bath when you're both unwinding against the warm water. Infatuated with how beautiful roses look on you, Alejandro decided to gift you a simple, golden necklace with a rose pendant hanging from it. And you're more than happy to show it off around your neck. 05 | Too shy to approach you, Rodolfo started leaving flowers instead. He'd place the simple banquet of sunflowers in your office, always waiting from afar to watch you carry it back home from base with a smile on your lips. Eventually, he was caught and had to come clean. You were far from angry — if anything, you were in love. Even when you start dating, he still brings home sunflowers, a symbol of faith, loyalty, and adoration. His face burned when you decided to tuck one behind your ear. Plus, Rodolfo finds it endearing how you gasp every time he comes home with fresh flowers as if he hasn't been doing it forever now, chest physically aching from how cute you looked. 06 | When he's around you, Graves turns into a big softie. It's almost hilarious how quickly he switches from a lean, mean commander to a man who would re-paint your entire room with flowers just because you love them so much. You'd pick him up at the airport, and he'd be the one bringing a bouquet — " What kind of man doesn't bring home flowers for his girl, hm?" And on the mornings when you'd wake up, and he'd already be gone, having to fly for D.C. on an emergency call, you'd see a vase of white tulips and pink carnations resting above the dining table. A silent yet beautiful way for him to say he's sorry, (and how can you not forgive him when he still finds time to give your flowers, no matter how busy he gets?) 06 | You know that Ghost is not the one for grand romantic gestures, understanding that he's reserved and somewhat hesitant when loving you. Because of this, reassurance is often hard to get from Simon. You would have expected communication to be nonexistent when he's a man of few words, but if anything, it's always constant: proven by the different flowers he'd get for you, knowing that it is a language you can both understand. After arguments, he'd say sorry by leaving white orchids by your bedside table. While 'I love yous' were expressed through red-white carnations and peonies. And with Simon, it's about paying attention to the little things, like when he walks up to you out of the blue, silent yet gentle as he tucks a chrysanthemum behind your ear. He'd stand there and admire you, hands still resting under your chin, " Fucking hell... you're beautiful, you know that?" From then on, you've been hard at work in your little garden, knowing that with it, you've made him a home to come back to.
a/n : so sorry for the late response anon, university has been kicking my ass, but thank you for requesting ! when i tell you i had so much fun writing this (i’m such a sucker for pure gentle fluff), what a creative and lovely request, i can already tell you’re wonderful by just this. i hope you enjoy it !! <3

Here is the new press article I was talking about yesterday !
Thanks to Emma Jones for the written version !
RIVALS
From Friday, Disney+
By Katie Bigley
Dame Jilly Cooper’s novels have made her queen of the bonkbuster and her army of fans will be thrilled to discover the new TV adaptation of one of her racy novels is just as risqué.
Get ready for sex, scandal and scheming as Rivals hits screens starring Poldark’s Aidan Turner, Doctor Who actor David Tennant and The Boys’ Alex Hassell.
Just like the book, this eight-part series throws a spotlight on the cutthroat world of independent television in the late 80s as Lord Tony Baddingham – played by David Tennant – battles to survive.
But it’s not all business, viewers can expect plenty of backstabbing, too, thanks to the tense rivalry between Lord Baddingham and his charismatic neighbour, Olympian-turned-politician Rupert Campbell-Black (Alex Hassell), who leaves women swooning wherever he goes.
As the war heats up, Aidan Turner’s character, Declan O’Hara, finds himself trapped between the powerful rivals, while both his daughter and his wife are caught in Rupert’s sexual web, which Lord Baddingham is more than happy to exploit.
The series is not for the faint-hearted. Created and produced by ex-EastEnders boss, Dominic Treadwell- Collins, the first episode features six eye-popping sex scenes and a naked game of tennis between Rupert and one of his conquests, Sarah Stratton, played by Inbetweeners star Emily Atack.
No stranger to getting his kit off on screen, Aidan caused a storm when he stripped off in the BBC series Poldark. But, according to the actor, anyone expecting to see Poldark’s chiselled six-pack might be a little disappointed.
“They won’t go mental any more,” he laughs. “I mean, Poldark was a very different character, he was more active, he was a farmer.
“Declan isn’t that. He’s a journalist, and most of his time is spent sitting in a chair.”
With so much bonking, it’s safe to say the show’s team of intimacy co-ordinators were kept busy. But they created such a safe space for the actors that Emily Atack often forgot she was naked.
She says, “I felt so comfortable that I’d forget to put my robe back on. I’d be sitting there and suddenly think, ‘Oh, right, I’ve still got those out!’”
Aidan adds, “It’s the most vulnerable you can be but you have to act the opposite of that. Everyone’s so good at this – it’s not their first rodeo – so we knew how to be professional and everyone felt comfortable on set.”
The cast of Rivals is like a who’s who of British and Irish acting talent, with Victoria Smurfit as Declan’s former actress wife Maud and Katherine Parkinson as author Lizzie Vereker, while Danny Dyer is electronics tycoon Freddie Jones.
“It came to me at a time when I couldn’t do it and I was gutted,” explained Danny, who had just finished playing Mick Carter in EastEnders at the time.
“And then the stars aligned and they came back to me. I think they went to look for Freddie Jones and couldn’t find Freddie Jones.
“I would have been devastated if it hadn’t worked out. But I don’t think anyone else could have played him.”
While Lord Baddingham and Rupert battle it out with ego and arrogance, it’s actually Freddie who is the wealthiest man in the room. But he just can’t stand a snob. “Especially snobs who forget where they came from,” agreed Danny.
“David Tennant’s character, who’s trying to get my money for investment, does something a bit unsavoury and I’m one of the only characters that calls him out for it.”
Katherine’s Rivals alter ego, romance novelist Lizzie, is married to daytime TV presenter James (Oliver Chris) but is living a loveless existence when viewers first meet her.
However, it’s not long before a sexual spark ignites between Lizzie and Freddie. So can fans expect even more bedroom action?
“It’s interesting how it pans out,” explained Danny. “But you’ll be shocked.”
Katherine added: “Bonnie Tyler is involved!”
“It’s the threesome of all threesomes,” added Danny. “Perfect for this series!”
While fans of the novel will enjoy seeing the characters come to life on screen, Katherine said you don’t, like her, need to have read the book. That’s because she believes Jilly’s work is so ingrained in popular culture that everyone will understand what to expect.
“I was very aware that it was ‘raunchy’,” said Katherine. “And I didn’t want my daddy to see!”
But Aidan is convinced that it’s not just the sex that will have fans hooked, whether they have read the novel or not.
He added “It’s taken so long for Jilly to get this on TV. It’s worth the wait. They’re all such great characters. When I read the script, I just thought, ‘I’ve got to do this.’ You ask yourself, ‘Would I feel OK passing on this and watching the show with somebody else playing the role?’
“It’s always a good test, and it freaked me out. I couldn’t do that.”

Omg just watched episode 2 of Distant Lands & I'm screaming.
Now, don't get me wrong, I definitely shipped Bubbleline before, but this episode had me INVESTED!!!!
Ahhr, I don't even know where to start?
The glass kingdom is so beautiful. I don't care how impractical it'd be, I wanna live there.
Marceline's old look was so awesome!!!!!! like, don't get me wrong, she always looks good, but I know WLW were being fed this episode, lol. As for me, I want Bubblegum's wardrobe STAT as not only is it a pastel lover's dream come true, but all the clothes look so soft (which I don't know how they manage to convey in 2D but they did).
Domestic Bubbleline has my entire heart forever, bye!!!!
Am I correct in seeing the friendship between glass boy & See Through princess as a parallel to Finn & Bubblegum's early friendship? Like tall, beautiful royal that's bogged down by her duty vs small, younger(?), disabled (which Finn later ends up becoming), blue boy who starts feeling dismissed/not taken seriously by his older(?) friend & wants to help/be a hero despite not having any powers (ok, so Finn has lightning amuinty, but that didn't come till much later)? Plus, there's the whole fire monster trying to kill him only for it to turn out to not be so bad, like when flame princess was introduced, & turning into (what looks to me like) some kind of a butterfly at the end, which we know was one of the things Finn was reincarnated as in a past life.
Those royal helpers (or whatever they're called) suck ass.
Simon, I love you!!!! Also, Ignore those monsters. Wear that moomoo & crown if it helps you cope.
They bubble wrapped him!!!! I'm crying, that's the sweetest, funniest & most practical way to go about it though like dude, you're litrually made of glass & already have a cracked face. You need to be way more careful about your obvious fragility.
I'm sorry, Bonnie, but the song does slap.
This is the major Bubblegum betrayal that I've been hearing about? Omg you have to be kidding. Like, I'm not saying you HAVE to love her as a character, but you really had me scared she was gonna do something absolutely twisted & it turned out to be.....this? Like, don't get me wrong, her reasoning wasn't the best & it was definitely bad of her to keep it from Marcleline, but do we really want characters without flaws & why are some fans seemingly convinced that Bubblegum is the sole AT character (especially out of her & Marcleline) that has any? Like the episode litrually gives us serval scenes from both of their POV's to show us that they each have good & bad qualities, streaths & weaknesses, baggage/insecurities & don't always handle everything the best way (especially in the past) but that they clearly love each other & are now in a much better place. Where they are willing to learn & grow & be vunrable by actually talking things out & apologising if they do something that hurts the other. Also wasn't, overcoming past hurts that are impacting your current, hard earned happiness by realising that you can't always be right/win all the time & that it's not always worth it if it means loosing what really matters to you, a huge part of the theme of the episode?
Mama Marcleline, we finally get more of your backstory & god dose it hurt. RIP queen, you did the best you could (am still scared to find out how you ended up pregnant though coz like, Hunson's a freak LMFAO!). Also, baby Marcy, I wanna hug you so bad 💔😭.
Ok, that song is so fucking cute that it makes me wanna bite my own cheeks off & eat them, and no, I don't care that that doesn't make sense.
That's how she got the band shirt? Omg, shoot me dead!
Oh, Simon, you know those banana guards can't do shit lol.
Omg Finn!!!!! Ok, so I kind of already saw that visual (being online, you can only avoid spoilers for so long), but still. My man, looking good. No prostetic? That's probably nice for amputees to see. The Jake Tattoo makes me both happy & sad because, on the one hand, it shows how much they love each other, but on the other, he probably got it because Jake is dead in this time period (I'm assuming).
Omg, grown-up Bronwyn is so cute 🥰!!!!!!!!
All the other cracks being revealed in others was a lovely touch. Thinking about the cracks as flaws or imperfections (or truma like the "damage" people accuire through being alive) & how society demonises that to the point where people feel like they have to hide them & then lash out at others who can't or refuse to hide theirs. Also, love the princess getting pants, lol. The angry monster secretly having a cracked face the whole time got me ok . Like, no wonder it hated the palace for how they acted towards glass boy. When it first saw him, it was probably so happy to know that someone like it existed & then was so hurt that Glass Boy was trying to change himself to be like everyone else.
Yes, Glass boy, kill those assholes!!!!! I hate hypocrites. It's sadly realistic, though. Sometimes, it really is the people with the most flaws who wanna condemn people the most.
#adventure time#adventure time distant lands#distant lands#bubbleline#princess bubblegum#marceline#marceline the vampire queen#distant lands episode 2#adventure time distant lands episode 2#adventure time: distant lands#didn't bother posting about the first episode because while it was cute & i love bmo it wasn’t a paticularly intresting episode to me#also please no hate about my bubblegum opinions#you're allowed to dislike her#but I'm allowed to like her#yes she's got issues but so does pretty much every character in the show & I happen to think it makes her intresting#can't believe finn flashed a kingdom#& PB wasn't empressed at all lol#no spoilers for the rest of DL or F&C please

Come Together
Nine
"I'm a happy baby in my happy baby pose," Nayeli whispered and let the morning rays of sunlight warm her face and body. She felt good. Maybe great. Since she'd been up, she meditated and prayed, now close to completing her morning yoga. Her mind was still.
For a short time. A grocery list sat in her inbox, meaning she had to make a pit stop before going to her grandparents' two bedroom cottage near the rocky part of Luna Beach. No matter. She needed to pick some things up for her kitchen as well.
Rolling up her mat, she stored it, changed clothes, and swallowed a mandarin orange. Her shoes were by the door, leaving her keys and purse as the only missing objects she needed to grab before she headed out. She ran down her to do list in her head adding in a stop to the nail salon. She needed a fresh pedicure if she planned to wear open toed shoes that night.
Her shift at the confectionery went swiftly and seamlessly. She finished the day's baking in record time and bid everyone adieu to finish up the rest of her tasks.
The local market was quiet, and she moved through the aisles with ease. It was early enough in the day that most people were still in their homes, but the promise of overcast burning off for pretty weather would ensure the streets were crowded before long.
Nayeli thanked the cashier that rang her up and made light conversation with the bag boy that helped her get her things into her trunk, handing him a bit of cash to show her gratitude.
Luna Beach sat at the farthest edge of the city, minutes from the road that led out to a portion of the state that was largely unoccupied. There were a few homes here and there, but fields tended to stretch for miles without much sign of civilization once past the retirement community.
Driving under the stone archway and iron sign, she made all of the familiar turns to get to her grandparents cul-de-sac and parked in their driveway. The compulsive need to only make one trip into the house had her hands full, and she struggled to get her keys into the deadbolt and doorknob.
"Who's that at my door?" Her grandmother's voice traveled from the ugly green dining room to the living room.
"Baby Love, Big Momma," Nayeli called back, taking the groceries into the kitchen and setting them on the old tile counter. Francine Windham sat at her long oak dining table, a bowl of cream of wheat and a piece of buttered toast in front of her next to half a grapefruit and a small glass of orange juice.
"My precious angel." Francine stood tall at 5'9", the tallest woman on her side of the family, with thick hair she kept relaxed that was more salt than pepper. Her eyes were round and brown, surrounded by curly lashes and some wrinkles. She wrapped her arms around her youngest granddaughter and kissed her head.
"How you feeling?"
"I'm good, finally off those antibiotics the doctor gave me. I've been eating more and moving around, but I'm still slow."
"I'm glad to hear you're feeling better." With a naturally weak immune system, Francine went down for weeks for illnesses that would heal within days for a healthy person. A common cold required medicine that wasn't offered over the counter and more rest than the average stint, "Has Mom come by?" Nayeli asked.
"She was here on Wednesday. She cleaned up the bathrooms."
"I told her I would do that."
"Her doctor said it was okay to do what she normally does. She looked fine. She's not limping anymore."
The house Nayeli grew up in was two stories with a tricky staircase. If someone wasn't careful, they could easily slip and fall. That was how her mother ended up breaking her ankle, leaving Nayeli to pick up the responsibilities that were normally split between her, her mother, aunt, and uncles for a few months. Now that Bonnie was healed, more time would return to being her own.
"Where's PawPaw?" Nayeli walked back into the kitchen and made herself a small bowl of cream of wheat before she joined Francine at the table.
"In his den watching TV. Your mother never should've gotten him that apple box. Now he sits in there for hours watching his shows, and I gotta sit in there if I wanna spend any time with the man."
"Why don't you move it into the living room?"
"I don't want to turn into one of those couch potatoes with him. That room is for spending quality time with family."
"Then you tell him bring his tail outside or you'll never make him smothered chicken again. I bet he'll straighten up," Nayeli said.
"I wish it was that easy, Baby Love," Francine chuckled and patted her hand. Of all her grandchildren, Nayeli was the most innocent and unjaded. She tried hard to make her see the world for all that it was, but her baby refused to believe that most people were lost.
They talked about the bakery, about Nayeli's plans for the upcoming Harvest Festival, what she wanted to do for her birthday, about Francine's church friends. They talked so much that Nayeli was on the verge of forgetting the question that had been brewing in her brain for the last several days.
"I wanted to ask you about that car accident we were in. I think I was ten? I only remember bits and pieces. I remember both impacts. PawPaw passed out, but that's it. Do you remember what happened?" Nayeli gathered that her brain locked away the memory. After listening to Carmen, something in her gut told her to gain clarity.
"Like it was yesterday. That's the only accident I've been in."
"Where were we?"
"Hollywood at the Pantages Theatre. We took you to see The Lion King."
Her spoon was halfway to her mouth, but she couldn't follow through. She set it back in the pink bowl and sat back in her chair, "How did we get out of the car?"
"I made sure you got out before we did. There was a boy who came over to help. He tried your PawPaw's door first, but I told him to get you. All of the doors were jammed, and the back windshield was cracked." Francine paused, observing Nayeli's rigid posture and deer in the headlights expression, "He broke a hole big enough to pull you through, and when the fire department came for us, you were on the curb with him. He was rubbing blood out of your face and had his sweater pressed to your leg because the glass cut you. What made you ask about that?"
Nayeli sat silently, the pieces she never had before clicking together to complete the puzzle. She swallowed hard and slow blinked twice, heart fluttering in her chest.
"I met the man that pulled me out," she said. Her body alternated hot and cold flashes as she accepted the weight of all she owed him.
"Are you sure it's him?"
"Positive. His mother told me the same story. Same location, pulling me through the back window, all of it. I just wanted to know if there was a connection. Turns out there's a bigger one than I thought."
"Look at God. Did you thank him?"
"I have to again. Ironically, we met because he saved me from getting hit by a car. I'm in debt to him for the rest of my life it seems." Nayeli sighed and attempted to finish her breakfast, but her fingers trembled nervously. She gave up and rubbed the scar at her hairline.
"I wouldn't go that far, but the Heavenly Father is certainly at work," Francine said. She could see something stirring in her granddaughter, "How's that raggedy boyfriend of yours?"
"I don't know. I broke things off a week ago."
"Praise Him! I knew you'd come to your senses and get rid of that turkey. Don't you ever get with someone that don't like being around family again, hear me?"
"Yes ma'am." Nayeli gently pushed her grandmother's long finger away from her face. She was trying to focus on the present moment, but all she could think about was Ezra and the fact that he would be at her home the very next day.
What would she say to him? What would he say to her? Where did that place them in each other's lives? It felt like a conversation that needed to be private, and Tatiana would be with him.
Another thought that gave her pause. Because she would be a fool to ignore the developments between them all. Unintentionally, she was being integrated into their lives. Maybe she had been from the moment she called Tati Princess and gave her that free cupcake. It was a slippery slope to be on, and she was concerned about Tatiana's well-being.
"You look like something's bothering you," Francine said.
"Big Momma, I think I might've messed up," Nayeli replied, chewing the left corner of her bottom lip.
"We all mess up, baby. What happened?"
"Ezra. That's his name. I don't know.....there's something about him. I knew it that first day. He told me he felt like we'd met before, and I couldn't think of anything. I don't know if he's put it together yet, but that's beside the point. We've kind of hung out a couple times. He has a daughter, and she is the cutest thing on two feet, Big Momma. So full of energy and happy. Quick witted, too."
"Just like you were."
"And his family is beautiful. They remind me so much of us." For lack of another way to put it, she'd been accepted into the clan even though she wasn't there for their approval. They treated her like another member of their tribe, the same way her family treated newcomers.
"You haven't told me where you messed up at."
"I've allowed myself to get really close to them already, and I don't think I should have. I'm fresh off a break up, Tati's mother is a big pill. I shouldn't be anywhere near them, but it feels good to be near them. It feels like I belong there."
"You cheated on Jalen with this man?" Francine sat up a little straighter and gave Nayeli a hard look. She didn't care for the young man, but she took relationships seriously. All that hopping around made her stomach hot.
"No ma'am. Nothing has happened between us. It's just that it feels like I'm bonded to Tati already. She's innocent, and I don't want to disrupt her life in any way. Ezra's sister told me that he likes me, but she didn't need to. I can tell, and from what I know and have seen, I kind of like him, too. It's happening too fast."
"That's how it goes sometimes, but you always lacked boundaries. Your heart makes you open to people. I'm not surprised you bonded with his daughter. I am curious about how that happened."
"Most of our dealings involved her. I catered the desserts for her birthday party, and that day was a show all on it's own. I gave her a baking lesson, and now she wants to see my garden." Nayeli looked to her grandmother for guidance. Having never been involved with someone that already had children, she was unsure of ground rules. How far was too far? How soon was too soon?
Francine exhaled lightly and rubbed the back of Nayeli's hand. Only her soft-hearted Baby Love could get herself into such a predicament, "I don't think you messed up. Where you are now, nothing has to change. It's okay to not want to disrupt his daughter's life. In fact, it's better that way. People don't always think about how the kids will be affected, but if they want you around, there's not much you can do but say no. And that might disrupt her life if she's bonded to you like you say. My advice is to be their friend until you feel like you're ready to be more. You have to draw the line."
The question was where?
☼☼☼
Nayeli started to regret making plans about halfway through getting ready for the night. Not for any particular reason. She just wanted to be in her bed. Her new mattress and headboard we're free from old energies, and it was much more comfortable. With the TV gone, her bedroom became a beacon for rest, and she wanted to be in the middle of it with a cup of hot tea and her tablet searching up books to order.
Leticia was dying for an evening out, begging her sisters several times over the course of three days to indulge her need to be social. They gathered at least once a month anyway, so Nayeli agreed, though she wished she'd hesitated more like Maxine. They might've been able to reschedule.
"Itty bit, where are your shot glasses?!" Max yelled from the kitchen.
"The cabinet next to the microwave!"
"Come on! We're toasting to you being single!"
"One second!" Nayeli finished the thin wing of eyeliner and coated her lashes in a lengthening mascara, rubbing vaseline on her lips to soften them so her gloss bomb went on smoothly.
Her cropped two piece set was bronze satin, healthy c-cups sitting in her halter top and thigh peeking out of the high split up the left side. The bottom half of her scar was showing. She ran her fingers across it, thoughts drifting to Ezra once again. He was the reason she had it and the reason she was alive. She had to find another way to thank him because cookies would never be enough.
Fluffing her hair one last time, she adjusted the bobby pin that kept her curly fringe hanging at her eyebrows and flipped the light off. Maxine had four shots of patron lined up on the kitchen counter despite it only being the two of them there.
"I have double shot glasses," Nayeli said and picked one up.
"I'm not convinced you can get two shots worth of alcohol in there. Somebody lied. Cheers to knowing our worth, adding tax, and not letting fuck shit slide!"
"Cheers!" Swallowing the clear tequila, she flinched as the liquid went down her throat and grabbed the second shot glass, "I forgot how nasty this stuff was."
"It gets the job done. Has Jalen tried to make his comeback yet?"
"He had one day where he blew up my phone and left a bunch of drunk voicemails. I blocked him after that, but I have been getting some calls from unsaved numbers. I don't know if it's him or a scammer. Either way, I'm not answering."
"Good. Fuck that lying ass nigga and all he stands for."
"Period. Leti tell you how far away she is?"
"I think she just pulled up," Maxine said, leaning forward to look through the blinds at the headlights moving along the asphalt. The bottom of her red mini dress slid up, exposing the cuff of her butt cheeks.
"Does Stella know you're over here ass out? I can't imagine she let you walk out in that dress," Nayeli commented as she grabbed the edges and pulled it down, tucking a loose curl back into Maxine's low bun.
"She tried to make me change, and I'm not having it. I wear what I want. Being married doesn't mean I gotta start dressing homely."
"Covering up doesn't make you homely."
"You know what I mean. She'd make me wear a parka everywhere if she could."
"Not a parka," Nayeli cackled, but she understood why. Maxine had extremely wide hips, a round butt, and she was soft all over. She made a lot of people crazy.
"Yes, bitch. A parka. If my pants are too tight, she's looking at me funny. You'd think I was pulling bitches left and right the way she acts. I get it. I'm fine as hell, but damn." All the women in their family were. Big, small, short, tall, it didn't matter.
"She's pregnant. It's probably just her hormones. You weren't exactly a peach when you were carrying Diesel."
"Diesel had me allergic to my favorite foods and still came out damn near ten pounds. I had a right to act a fool over that big ass baby." Maxine poured out two more shots just as Leticia rang the doorbell to let them know she was there and walked inside in a sheer, strapless corset and leather trousers.
"You started pregaming without me?" she complained.
"We took shots two minutes ago. Relax," Max said, "Yours are already poured. Bottoms up!"
"Where's the rest of your dress?"
"Hush, damn it! Y'all get to be hoochies, I wanna be one, too!"
"I am not a hoochie, thank you," Nayeli interjected, going back to her room to grab her shoes and her distressed, cropped denim jacket. She slid her feet into the stilettos and wound the straps around her ankles and calves, tying them in a neat bow, "Who's getting the uber?"
"I'll pay for the one there. Somebody else can get us back." Maxine pulled her phone out of her purse and cussed, nails clicking against the screen angrily as she typed out a message, "Eight minutes out."
"Awesome."
"It looks so different in here," Leticia said, staring at the spots on the walls that were previously occupied and now bare.
"I haven't had the chance to really go shopping yet. I'm going to the flea market next week. Hopefully I can find some good things to fill the space with."
"Does it feel weird?"
"What, the house being empty?"
"All of it. The house, Jalen. How are you doing with it all?"
"She's doing fucking amazing! Changed the locks on that ass and everything," Max cheered and hugged her baby sister's waist. Leticia gave Nayeli a look only they understood.
"I'm doing better than I thought I would be."
"Are you ready to be outside?"
"Honestly? Yeah. I just want to have a good time." Nayeli hadn't been out out in months. Life in general kept her busy, but Jalen didn't always like being social. He had to be in the mood. As a result, most of their time together was spent in the house. Now, she was as free as a lioness in the wild, ready to sink her claws into the earth while she chased her happiness.
Buster's Brewery hummed with good energy, low lights and flowing alcohol keeping the patrons boozed enough to chill without getting rowdy. Modeled after a speakeasy, everything was sleek and upscale, black and gold, from the chairs upholstered in leather and velvet down to the stone the bar counter was made of.
The lot was about 75 percent full, but it was still relatively early in the evening. More people would arrive the closer it got to 8, so their timing was perfect. They'd be able to find a seat with ease, although it wouldn't be an issue if they didn't. Nayeli was cool with the owner and the chef.
"I cannot wait to drink," Leticia said as they climbed into their booth and picked up the specialty beverage menu, "This week was so stressful."
"What happened?"
"A stupid pipe burst at the studio downtown. Everything flooded, so now I have to wait for the wood to dry out, hope there's no rot, and I'm more than likely gonna have to get the floors redone. That cuts back my classes unless I want to do them outside, and it's too cold for that some days. Not to mention insurance might not cover all of the damage."
"Shit, I'd want a drink, too," Maxine said.
"How'd the pipe burst?" Nayeli asked.
"It was old. Apparently the whole building has plumbing issues. I had no idea it needed to be replaced otherwise I would've said something about it sooner. The landlord knew. I should sue his ass."
"If you do, I hope you win. There's nowhere for you to move your classes in the meantime?"
"Not without paying."
"Stop paying rent downtown until they get that mess fixed," Max told her.
"Oscar will find a way to put me out on my ass before I can even finish the sentence. He's an asshole."
"Why'd you sign the lease then?"
"Prime locale. Between the foot traffic from the beach and the posse of Stepford wives from the hills, the money is awesome. Having Oscar as a landlord is a small price that comes with a big pay off. You know, when life goes the way it's supposed to."
"How long do they think the repairs are going to take?"
"A couple of months at the least. My accounts are going to take a huge hit." Leticia groaned and started to rub her forehead until she remembered that she had on a face full of makeup.
"Chace can't cover you for a couple months?"
"I'm not asking him to do that, Max."
"Why not? Please explain the point of dating a wealthy man if he doesn't bail you out when you're in trouble."
"He has bailed me out before. That's exactly why I won't ask him to do it again. He's taking care of everything when I move. I don't want to press my luck."
"Baby, the man is a multimillionaire. His dad probably has a hand in every business in the city, and that's just here. That doesn't include the rest of the country. Your bills are chump change to him. If you don't use that to your advantage, you're dumb."
"Or she values hard work and doesn't want a handout."
"Thank you, Nayeli."
"Fuck all that! A man that wants to will do it. Mommy and Daddy been divorced for how many years? That nigga got a new wife and still pays all her bills. Take the handout. The way cost of living is going up, we could all use one right about now," Max said and exhaled roughly.
"Are you stressing about money for the new baby?" Leticia asked, assuming that was why Maxine was making such a big deal about accepting help she wasn't even sure she needed yet.
"Money itself isn't the problem. I'm stressing about Stella's spending before the baby gets here. Every time we go to a store, she sees something extra she just has to buy like we don't have enough shit in our house already. I love her, I really do but when it comes to finances, she has no sense whatsoever. Her logic is money comes and goes, but it's like we already have a son we have to buy new clothes and shoes for every few months because he grows out of shit so fast. Infants are even more expensive, and inflation got everything sky high. We can't afford her damn spending habits with a newborn."
"Take a budgeting class or something as a date. Nudge her in the right direction," Nayeli suggested.
"Do you know what that woman would do to me?"
"Complain until your ears fell off," Leticia said and snickered.
"Exactly. I'm not trying to hear all that."
"It's better than losing your home because your wife spent the mortgage on bullshit." Leti had a point, but being the oldest, that was usually the case. She had more life experience, not much, but more nonetheless.
Vera, a waitress Nayeli was familiar with, stopped at their table to take their drink and appetizer orders, asking if any of them wanted to submit their names and perform after the band that was there Thursday through Saturday left. They all declined, just there to enjoy the moment with some good food and good music.
A few people were on the dance floor, swaying in each others' arms or whispering in their lovers' ear. Nayeli looked down into one of the lower levels of the speakeasy. Most of those booths were unoccupied, but there was a couple clearly getting freaky under the table at one of them. She laughed to herself and thanked Vera when she came back with her Bahama Mama and cheese fries.
"You like having the bubble guts, huh?" Maxine turned her nose up at Nayeli's basket.
"I'm not lactose intolerant. That's your faulty stomach."
"Nayeli!" She turned at the sound of her name and tried to find the owner, "To your right! Over here!" Following the instructions, she caught a glimpse of the two women waving to get her attention from the other side of the bar and waved back.
"Who's that?" Max asked.
"Ezra's sister, Brandy, and her wife, Trinity. I'll be right back," Nayeli said and exited the booth, walking nervously to them. "Hey! I didn't know you guys were still in town."
"This is our last night before we head back. Look at you, hot momma! You were hiding that shape the last time we saw you." Brandy eyed her appreciatively and smiled.
"You picked a great place to end your trip. The band is here until 8 when the open mic night starts."
"You've been here before?"
"A few times. I've worked with the owner. If you're hungry, get the hot wings with the house ranch and the loaded potato skins. They'll change your life. The deviled eggs are really good, too They come with caviar and pancetta. If it's your thing, they have a deep fried option as well."
"My stomach would thank me, but my ass would not."
"Brandy! I'm sorry for her mouth. I love me a good tater skin, though," Trinity said and wiggled in her seat.
"It's extra, but you can get them with shrimp or lobster."
"Say less. EJ can afford a few extra bucks."
"Ezra's here?" Nayeli assumed as much, but the confirmation put her on edge. She realized she wasn't ready to see him, but she inevitably would.
"He's at the bar getting our drinks. Who are you here with?" Brandy asked.
"My sisters. We haven't been out together for a while."
"They live here, too?"
"Yeah, but Leticia's moving at the beginning of next year."
"Why's she leaving? I'm trying to move here. It's better than LA."
"Her boyfriend."
"Oh no, not for a boyfriend or a girlfriend. Ring me or bounce."
"I feel that. It's not my choice to make. He wants to marry her. It's a matter of when, I guess, but I should get back to them. I just felt like waving from across the room was impersonal." Nayeli was trying to escape. She needed at least one more sip of alcohol before they came face to face, but she could never be so lucky.
"It is, and EJ will cuss me out if I let you leave before he makes it over here. Speaking of. E, look who I found."
She could smell him before she saw him; Armani Code. The hairs on her neck stood up and tangled with her curls when she felt his warmth on her exposed skin. She hoped she didn't look like she was ready to throw up.
"Hey." Ezra set three different glasses on the table, pausing as green eyes shot lasers through his soul.
Nayeli lost her breath and apparently her ability to speak. He looked clean in his white undershirt and open mesh button down, black pants covering his long legs. She'd never seen him in something that outlined his whole body.
Her four inch heels gave her a bit of a height advantage. She was closer to his face, closer to the diamond chain around his neck and the studs in his ears, close enough to feel that they were milliseconds away from touching.
"Hi," she finally said back, staring up at him with wonder in her eyes. So far, in the game of life, she was highly favored. The man in front of her, not once but twice, rescued her from harm. A knight in designer clothing with an expensive watch on his wrist.
"Babe, let's go find another table and let the kiddies talk," Brandy said, grabbing two of the three drinks before abandoning Nayeli and Ezra at the table. For a few minutes, they stood and continued staring at each other.
Nayeli sat first, leaning against the cool leather as he sat to her left, "So much for subtlety," she muttered.
"You look amazing. How'd your day go?" Ezra asked, fighting to keep his hands off of her. He knew it was his lucky night when he left the bar and spotted red hair at the table with his sisters. He loved looking at her behind, but her face was much better.
"Thank you. Relaxed for the most part. I'm happy to be out. What about you?"
"It was a little crazy. Some shit went down between a couple of my fighters at the gym."
"Blood drawn?"
"And an ambulance was called."
"Heavy stuff. Everybody okay?"
"As far as I know. Where are your sisters?" He remembered that she told him they were all going out, so how did she end up alone with Brandy and Trinity?
Nayeli rested her forearms on the table, unknowingly pushing her breasts together as she leaned around him to look for Maxine and Leticia. He tried to be respectful, but he was only a man and snuck a glance at the supple flesh, plump, moisturized, and somehow glowing in the low light. He cleared his throat when she sat back.
"With yours," she said, sensing mischief in the introduction of their siblings. The four of them sat in Nayeli's booth, chopping it up like they linked before. Their families were meddlers through and through, "Who's watching Tati?"
"My parents. She's excited for tomorrow."
"I hope she's ready to get her hands dirty."
"She was ready yesterday." Ezra could tell that Nayeli was holding something back. They were never nervous around each other, but she kept tapping the table with her index finger. He put his hand over hers, and the tapping stopped.
Both the upper and lower dance floors were beginning to fill with bodies as the musicians switched from slow jams to more upbeat R&B. Nayeli rocked from side to side and made an effort to find something useful to say. Her brain wasn't functioning beyond wanting to smother the man next to her with a kiss of thanks. She couldn't do that.
"The band's pretty good," he said.
"I think they're new. It's live in here on Fridays. Saturdays are a little calmer unless there's a special event or something going on."
"I know. I'm friends with the MC."
"You know Angelo?" Nayeli's eyebrows lifted beneath her hair.
"Yeah, he trains at my gym. How you know him?"
"His wife, Morgan, is one of my close friends."
"Oh yeah, Morgan's cool. I've been around her a couple times."
More small talk passed between them. It was uncomfortable compared to the ease with which they usually conversed. Things flowed between them naturally, but Nayeli was obviously peeved about something, and his attempts to pull whatever it was out of her failed. The band transitioned into U Know What's Up by Donnell Jones, and he figured out to get her to loosen up. At least he hoped it would work.
"You wanna get out there and cut a rug?" he asked and offered her his hand.
Placing her fingers in his palm, she scooted closer, "Lead the way." Allowing him to tug her onto the dance floor, Nayeli prayed she wouldn't trip over her feet and embarrass herself because she couldn't focus.
The first couple of songs were fun. They found their rhythm and playfully battled each other, arms and hands brushing against each other as they danced. She felt more relaxed once she didn't have to talk. She still hadn't figured out how she wanted to thank him, nor did she want to do it in a public place once she did.
While the wheels in her mind turned, Ezra struggled to keep his composure. Seeing Nayeli's hips move made Ezra want to try some things. She kept it age appropriate around the kids, but being in a room full of adults brought out the true nature of her sensuality. She dipped and winded with the beat, freezing when she felt him get behind her, though she recovered quickly.
Friendly dancing turned into something deeper, raw. Nayeli let herself get lost in everything that wasn't her thoughts. They moved in sync, pressed together like they were one entity, and her eyes fluttered shut when he held her hip with one hand and flattened the other against her bare stomach, holding her tighter to him.
He was far gone, only concerned with the little vixen turning him to stone in his pants. Her skin smelled sweet, like warm sugar and vanilla with a hint of something he couldn't place. Possibly cinnamon. He wanted a taste of whatever it was.
Soft to the touch, his fingers traveled up her side and lifted her hair. Before he knew what he was doing or could stop himself from doing it, he kissed the top of her shoulder, shifting to her trapezius. Her head tilted further out of his way, exposing more skin for him to get his lips on, and he took advantage.
Nayeli reached up, her hand delicately landing on the back of his neck. He heard her sigh as he made it to her jaw, and then she went stiff, abruptly pulling away from him and flipping around. Her eyes were wide and panicked. She stumbled back a few steps.
"It's uhm......it's hot in here. I'll be back," she said to him just before she ran to the door the led to outside seating and the beach.
She couldn't comprehend what almost occurred on the dance floor, why she didn't stop him when she first felt him kiss her. She wasn't that lost in the sauce, was she?
Ezra stood in the same spot, trying to figure out what happened and why. Nayeli's scent lingered between the layers of smoke, telling him to go after her. It took him a second to realize that he'd gone too far, and he had to apologize. Discreetly adjusting himself in his pants, he followed the path she took and walked outside to find her.
She was on a bench by herself, staring up at the stars with her hands folded in her lap. It looked like her lips were faintly moving. He approached cautiously and sat down next to her. When she looked at him, he felt like shit for making her uncomfortable. His desire for her overpowered his common sense, and she looked terrified as a result.
"I'm so sorry, Nayeli," he said swiftly and stopped himself from grabbing her hand. He wasn't sure if she wanted him touching her.
"It just kind of caught me off guard. It's fine," she replied.
"It's not. I didn't have your permission, and you got a man. I shouldn't have done that."
His statement shocked her. Most men didn't care if they had a woman's permission. They felt entitled after a pleasant conversation or paying for a meal. Ezra respected her enough to realize that he didn't make the wisest choice, although she wasn't upset at him for it. Before her brain turned itself back on and fired a warning shot, she was perfectly content.
"Thank you for apologizing, but really it's okay. I'm not mad." Just a little unnerved because she was going through more than she felt equipped to handle. What she allowed was the exact opposite of the advice her grandmother gave her. Letting Ezra kiss her and hold her as close as he did was not keeping things friendly. They'd hopped right off the diving board into the deep end of the swimming pool.
"You're not?"
"No, and I don't have a man. I dumped Jalen last week."
Ezra tried not to grin. It was wrong of him to pray on the downfall of a longterm relationship, but he couldn't sit idly knowing the woman from his dreams dealt with a beta male that didn't know or care to learn how to treat her. Now she was free for him to scoop up. He would show her what real love looked like in comparison to the half-ass attempt she was used to.
"Are you okay?" he asked. He might've been dancing on the inside because he had a chance, but he didn't want her to be hurt.
"Yeah. The first few days were the worst. I guess, in a way, I knew it was coming, but I kept hoping everything would work itself out. It's the optimist in me," she sighed and shrugged, taking one last look at the stars before she focused on Ezra's face, "I don't want to talk about him, though. That chapter of my life is finished." No need to be continued or rewritten.
"Onto bigger and better."
"Precisely."
Deciding to sit outside for a while longer, they alternated between conversing and being silent, their normal comfortability returning when Nayeli realized that she needed to stop thinking so much. If she'd been on her P's and Q's, things probably wouldn't have went as far as they did.
The fresh air kept her alert, but eventually, the breeze blowing off the ocean made goosebumps erupt on her arms and she caught a chill.
"We should go back inside. My sisters are probably pissed at me," she said.
"I don't think I'm the favorite right now, either."
Both parties were incorrect as Brandy took it upon herself to explain what she knew of the situation to Maxine and Leticia.
Max was happy to hear the other side of the story. She knew Nayeli left some things out. A lot of which Max was going to bust her chops for later. The four ladies got along splendidly, eating and keeping each other company until their two connections returned to them.
"Y'all finally decided to rejoin the party?" Brandy smirked and scooted in to make room for them in the booth.
"What are you talking about? I never left," Nayeli joked, gulping down some of her Bahama Mama in spite of it being watery thanks to her melted ice. She picked up a few of her cold cheese fries and popped them into her mouth.
"I'll be right back, she said TWO HOURS AGO!" Max was buzzed and feeling bold, giggling at herself by herself.
"It has not been two hours."
"You're right. It's been.....two hours, twenty-three minutes, aaaaaaaaand fifty-five seconds," Leti said, looking back and forth between her baby sister and what appeared to be her new beau before she held out her hand, "I'm Leticia."
"EJ, nice to meet you."
"I know who you are. I went on a date to your last fight. Good shit."
"Thank you."
"The drunk one is Maxine," Nayeli said.
"I'm not drunk. I feel good. Now look here, Mr. EJ sir. My sister is a fluffy lil bunny, mkay? You gotta be real careful with her. She don't like to tussle, but I do, and i'on give a damn how many championship belts you got. If I gotta bring a brick wall down on your head, I will do that. No disrespect to you, Brandy. I like you, but we protect Baby Love at all costs. Her ass is too pure for this world."
"Like I said, she's drunk. Ignore her."
"I'm speaking facts! You know she was a virgin until she was 26?"
"MAX, SHUT UP!" Nayeli's face burned at her sister's concession. She wasn't ashamed of her choice, but it didn't need to be broadcasted. Her sexual history was her business.
"That's enough for you." Leticia snatched the half empty glass of tequila sunrise that was in front of Maxine and pushed it to the other side of the table.
"I wasn't finished with that!"
"You need to be cut off. Drink some water."
"Don't be embarrassed, Nayeli. That's not a bad thing," Trinity said, laying a comforting hand on her shoulder.
"Yeah, I know. Can we talk about something else now?" All the attention on Nayeli made her squirmy. She just wanted to have a good time, and up until several minutes prior, she was.
As the conversation moved away from her genitals, she eased up and leaned back, picking at the last few hot wings in the center of the table and ordering fried pickles with a second Bahama Mama.
Ezra hardly talked, choosing to let the women have the floor so he could learn more of Nayeli's secrets. Truth be told, Brandy was the reason he wasn't in the house. She claimed she couldn't leave Briton Beach without him taking her out at least once. He wanted her off of his back, but that ended up working in his favor because he got to see his angel.
The angel that had only been with one man in her life. It was easy to deduct that truth from what he knew. She was a virgin until she was 26 and had been with Jalen for six years. She couldn't be much older than 26, which didn't leave too much room for someone else to have made an appearance.
He wanted to know why she made that decision, if she ever planned to save herself for marriage or if she felt that no man before Jalen was worthy. Really, he just wanted her alone. He was tired of sharing her. For once, he wanted time without being interrupted.
Leticia excused herself to use the restroom, Maxine going with her before Trinity left the booth behind them. A few minutes later, Nayeli asked to be let out, teasingly promising Ezra that she was coming back for him through hazy eyes. Her buzz was starting to hit. She scampered off, curls and booty bouncing. One day soon, that would be his daily view.
"What the hell are you cheesing about?" Brandy asked.
"Nayeli broke up with her dude."
"I know."
"You know?"
"Yeah, she told me at the party."
A whole seven days ago. Ezra glared at his sister and pinched her wrist like she used to do to him when he got on her nerves as kids, "You couldn't say something sooner?"
"Ow, nigga, no! She said she wasn't thinking about hopping into another relationship anytime soon. Why would I give you the green light to watch you fail? But after what I saw tonight, you might already be in there." The entirety of the brewery saw their dry humping and her brother kissing Nayeli's neck like he was seconds away from pulling her to bathrooms. However, Brandy knew firsthand how much breakups could hurt and all one would go through to mask that pain, "Give her time to heal, E. She's a sweetheart, and six years is a lot to get over."
"How much time do you think she needs?"
"At least three months."
"Shit." He had no desire to wait that long, but he would if he had to, "Did she tell you what he did?"
"No, and I wasn't about to ask. What is wrong with you?"
He trusted Brandy. They shared almost everything with each other, but he didn't know if he wanted to open up about what was going on in his head. It didn't fully make sense to him, but he was confident that he was right.
"You're going to think I'm crazy." Most people would if he walked around telling them that Nayeli was his wife.
"I'm your sister. I already think you're off your rocker," Brandy said, staring at him until she realized that he had no plans of saying anything else, "Well?"
"Nevermind. Don't worry about it." If they were back at his house, he might've spoken freely, but the missing women were coming back, and he didn't want Brandy to sneak the information to Nayeli. He was already aware that she spilled the beans about his feelings not being platonic, "Do y'all mind catching an uber back to the house?"
"Uh, why?"
"I'm gonna see if Nayeli wants to stick around later."
"E, I just said give her time."
"Chill out. I'm not trying to take her to a hotel. I just want to get her alone for a minute."
"Do what you do. You gon end up hurting your own feelings trying to rush her."
"Shut up." He didn't agree, but he'd keep the thought tucked in his back pocket.
Unbeknownst to the rest of the table, he covered the tabs for both groups, causing a bit of an uproar before the Windham siblings thanked him. They were all walking out together when he held Nayeli back.
"Do you need to be home?" he asked her.
"Nuh uh. Aside from church, my only plans tomorrow are with you and Tati."
"You up for staying out a little longer?" By partier's standards, it was still early. For the rest of the adults, it was time for bed, but Nayeli nodded anyway.
"Yeah, we can stick around. There's a really good ice cream place down the street called Scoop of Heaven. Have you been?"
"I think I've driven past it once or twice."
"It's like an old school ice cream parlor and soda shop. They're open until 11."
"Let's go."
"Go where?" Leticia asked.
"We're going to get ice cream. You guys know where the towels and stuff are if you wanna crash at my place."
"Sooooo basically, you ain't coming home with us," Maxine said.
"Right. Don't throw up on any of my stuff, please. And leave the rest of that 7-Up cake alone. It's for Danielle."
"She swears she's the oldest."
"I'm definitely the most mature."
"God, please don't strike her for that lie," Leti added as she hopped away from Nayeli. Brandy and Trinity laughed at Nayeli swatting at her sisters. Their cars pulled up separately, everyone saying goodbye before the siblings were gone and two people remained.
Leaving the parking lot, they walked the three blocks to Scoop of Heaven, ordering small cups of rocky road and cookie dough ice cream and crossing the street to beach.
Shoes in one hand, ice cream in the other, they strolled a little ways through the sand and found a good rock to sit on. The moon shone on them, keeping their faces visible. Helpful, because they couldn't stop looking at each other.
Nayeli's buzz came and went, keeping her loose enough to not be awkward but aware enough to know that they were finally all alone and she had no excuse not to bring up the origin of their connection. Still, she found one.
"I feel like you know more about me than I do about you," she said, drawing a swirl in the sand with her foot.
"What do you want to know?"
"Whatever you want to tell me."
"I hate the song Return of the Mack."
Her mouth dropped open, and she scooted away from him, "How dare you! That's a serious character flaw." Ezra threw his head back and laughed. That little tidbit sparked many debates.
"You don't even want to ask me why?"
"I'm not sure it really matters, but go ahead and tell me."
"The year that song came out, my parents were separated and still pissed at each other. They played it out worse than the radio. If I never hear it again, I might die a happy man."
"I understand, and now I feel bad for what I said." Bad memory association could ruin even the best of songs.
"Don't. It was funny."
"In that case, I'll give you a pass." Thankful that the vibe was still lighthearted, she scooted back to her original spot and bumped him with her arm, "I can't believe your parents separated. I got the feeling they were very much in love."
"They are. People go through shit, but being apart ended up working for them. They needed to grow up....and they realized nobody else wanted their crazy asses. What about your parents?"
"They were together until I was fourteen. My mom didn't want anymore kids after me. My dad wanted to try for a boy, and my mom said no. So they divorced, and he found someone that would give him more children."
"You have younger siblings?"
"Mhmm. Twin boys. I don't know them. I saw them once when they were first born. His wife doesn't acknowledge me or my sisters. Their family is their family. He's still around all the time. The only thing that really changed was where he slept at night. He just has another family that acts like we don't exist." And that was completely fine with Nayeli. She couldn't stand Cheryl, and it had everything to do with her being a raging bitch that refused to accept her husband had a life before her. She weaponized the twins against her dad, too. It was worse than anyone let on, and she was convinced that Maxwell would be filing for divorce the day after the boys turned eighteen.
"That's fucked up."
"What can I do? The twins are still minors, and I can't force a relationship. If they don't want to know me, that's their problem. I'm a beautiful person, and they're missing out," she shrugged and scraped the last of her ice cream from the bottom of her paper cup.
"They are," Ezra said, making sure that she was looking at him when he did. She smiled at him and bashfully lowered her head.
"We're talking about me again."
"I want to know everything there is to know about you."
"If we're going there, I'd like the same in return."
"Deal."
"Good. Now I'm asking the questions. When did you start boxing?" Nayeli felt weird that everyone around her was familiar with that side of him. It wasn't all he was, but it was still a significant portion of his life. If she wanted to know him, she had to ask.
"My dad had me in gloves from the time I could throw a punch. He started taking me to the gym when I was eleven."
"He pushed you into it?"
"Yeah and no. He's a big fan of Muhammad Ali, and he was an amateur boxer for a minute, but my mom got pregnant with Brandy and shut it all down. Me being the first born son, he introduced me to a lot of the stuff he wanted to do as a kid. I played football and boxed. Love them both, but I hate hitting the ground. It's unavoidable in football. Not when I boxed, though. My dad loves the technical side of it. I like knocking niggas in the dirt." He made her laugh and grinned at the sound. It was beautiful, bordering on musical. He wished he could hear it all the time, "Is it my turn to ask a question?"
"Nope. I still have to play catch up. What position did you play?"
"QB and safety."
"Duality, I like it."
"Are you a football fan?"
"It's still not your turn to ask questions, but yes I am. Why did you stop boxing?"
"Tatiana. I'm not good at multitasking. When I would train to fight, that's all I would focus on. My schedule was tight, and I didn't allow distractions. This would go on for months at a time. Once Tati was born, I needed to focus on her," he answered simply. It was that easy when he made the decision, too, and there was nothing he would change about it.
"Great parenting."
"I had great examples. Thank God for that because Savannah ain't worth shit."
"Ooookay. I'm going to stop you there," Nayeli said and held her hand up, "I know first hand that she is not a great person. I know you guys have your issues, but I would appreciate it if you didn't speak badly about her to me. I'm not asking you to not feel how you feel, but I don't want this to become a thing where you bash her and I cosign. At the end of the day, she's still Tati's mother." Whether they liked it or not.
"Giving birth don't make somebody a mother, but I hear you." Maxine had it right. Nayeli was too pure for the world, "She said you threatened her."
"Oh, I did. She tried to put her hands on me. I know I'm small, but I don't play that."
He started to get angry because that wasn't the way Savannah told the story. He knew she wasn't entirely forthcoming, but had he known what she attempted, their last conversation would've went worse than it already did, "Why didn't you tell me?"
"Because I threatened her. I'm not afraid of her, and now she knows not to try me," Nayeli explained, "Is she the reason you asked me about cutting off an inconsistent parent?"
"Yeah. We have court ordered joint custody, but she only comes around once every blue moon."
"I'm sorry."
"What for? You're better with Tati than she ever was or will be." Which was sad since he could count on one hand how many times they'd been around each other.
"I wish you were in a better situation."
"If I were, I might not've met you."
"Somehow, I still think we would've ended up near each other. With or without you living in the same city." That was it, the perfect moment for her to come clean. She'd been putting it off for long enough. Setting her empty cup the the sand, she turned so that her whole body faced him, "I have something to tell you."
"What is it?"
"Remember when you said you felt like we'd met before."
"Yeah."
"You were right. The story your mom told at Tati's birthday party, the one about you saving the little girl from the wreck. It was me. You saved me." Looking down at her legs, she moved part of her skirt, showing him the long, jagged scar on her thigh, "This is where you held your jacket because the glass cut me," Lifting a section of her curls, she exposed the one in her hairline, "This is why you were wiping blood out of my face. I don't remember much from the accident, but I had a feeling, so I asked my grandmother what happened. Everything she remembers matches what your mom said. It feels weird to say because we haven't even known each other a month yet, but I don't know where I'd be without you. Thank you, Ezra." Standing at her regular height, she was able to get her arms around his neck while he was still seated, but not before she left a lingering kiss on his cheek.

SECURITY BREACH RUIN SPOILERS
Finally got around to watching a Security Breach Ruin playthrough, oh boy. That was a lot. Most notably in my own thoughts, or as many as I can pull out of my head right now-
• Obviously, so much more fleshed out and developed. I'm really happy SW was given all the time they needed to make this dlc, because it's just so so good, storywise and obviously in its gameplay compared to the unfortunate fate of security breach.
• Bonnie's Glamrock design had me screaming - there he was!! I love all the fanon designs for him don't get me wrong, his game design is just as refreshing and cool. The bright light blue in the main of him reminded me of Toy Bonnie (aka one of my favourite animatronics) and was a very nice colour to choose in comparison to purple, since that colour is mostly incorporated in Roxy's design now (and Aftons whole thing but ykwim). Brilliant!!
• ROXY. OUGH. I pitied her and liked the memes abt her that went around during the first game and her hatred for Gregory following into the new one (duh, wants her damn eyes back), but oh my god her whole thing with Cassie made me so sad. Surely your friends will show up this time!!! Number one!!! Twice!!!
• Not gonna lie, was very much expecting an ending where the mask gets permanently stuck on Cassies head and the AI Bunny(cant remember atm what ites being called lmao) just torments her for all of eternity. It struck me as really important that the mask had such an intrusive and physical method of use, and how Cassie is now permanently connected to the network whether she has it on or off, I thought they were going to do more with it in the endings. I know that the Brazil ending had Cassie using it to hide from her fate with the mimic, but that feels to me like its more about Cassie using it to escape rather than the reality of the mask now being specifically part of her. Not a complaint at all though, just my own personal thoughts and observations!!!
• The Mimic. Yeesh. Rip having to pretend to be Gregory of all people just to get out from a sinkhole, may I remind you the Mimic literally sassed Helpi in the first rid of the AI Bunny? Most in character line he managed to stitch together lmao (i have more to say abt it but I am too tired to try and write thst out rn)
• CANDY CADET. SOBBING.
• That poster up by the vents from BOWLING to FAZER BLAST being Freddy's poster for Bonnie? Cry. Legitimately made me tear up a little. I don't care what context people are choosing to frame their relationship in based on that "Love, Freddy" bit or what is actually confirmed canon (when do we ever get that in fnaf tho/j), they were programmed robots with a legitimate sense of care and affinity for each other and that is SO. DAMN. SAD.
• Follow up to that, DID SHUTTING DOWN ALL OF THE CUTE LITTLE YELLOW SIGN BABIES RELEASE BONNIE'S SPIRIT OR KILL IT? Regardless, those glowing eyes from his body in the secret bowling area had to mean something. Imagine being destroyed like that and having your soul trapped in your immovable body, waiting for who knows how long for someone to evem find you...
• Monty's story? Both don't trust it or Monty at all and still feel kinda a little bad for him. Going on the principle that he's had the ability to feel since the beginning too makes me worry for his possible character conflict when/if his full story if explicitly revealed. Someone gave him the ability to become one of the four, and still I don't think it was Bonnie despite the little art story. Monty might have been the one to destroy Bonnie to get there, but I think that hand with the guitar is symbolising that he had some kind of help along the way.
• Was kinda hoping Chica was gonna get more of a fleshed out backstory but its fine, she got her bits and thats okay! What was with the voice box bit??? Her minigame looked like fun tho lmao
That's most of what I feel like bringing up for now. Overall just a solid, banger fnaf game that I absolutely now just regard as its own installment completely seperate to Security Breach. Finally getting back into the swing of things. Cant wait for what's next!
#just needed to get the post watch brainrot out of my head for now lmao this is mostly just me losing my mind#excited to dig more into the actual fan content now!!#good game good game good game#sox speaks#fnaf#fnaf security breach#fnaf ruin#fnaf ruin spoilers#fnaf spoilers#five nights at freddy's#security breach ruin#security breach#yep all the tags lol

Afton
…
Michael couldn’t remember how many years it had been since it all began. He just remembered waking up from his coma, some sort of sick twisted joke that the universe was playing on him. Him waking up but his little brother long gone from the world. He remembered the doctor coming in, calling him by his last name.
“Doctor you’re wrong, my last name is-”
“Michael, it’s fine, there is no judgment here. I just wanted to let you know that your family’s lawyer is waiting outside to talk with you.”
When the lawyer came in, the conversation was short, but to the point. His father had taken out life insurance policies on himself and all his children when his wife had left. Seeing as how Mr. Afton was dead, and Miachael was the only child left, he became the sole beneficiary. For the several months he was in the hospital dealing with rehabilitation and healing, he thought about what to do with all that money. It was more than he would ever need to use on himself, and he wanted to do something with it that would matter, that would mean something.
Michael thought about his father, and all the evil that man had done. He thought about his brother, about how terrified he was at the end. It was then he decided that he would finally erase the bloody name of Afton. He would turn it into something new. He had taken some engineering and business courses in college, all he would have to do is contact the family lawyer and get some advice.
Advice he did get. He waited a few years to make sure any remaining rumors had died once and for all, and then he announced the plans for the Freddy Fazbears Pizza Plex. A place where kids could experience fun, where parents could have nostalgia, and most of all, a place where families and children could be safe. It worked, at first.
The animatronics were all he could have ever hoped for. He programmed them specifically to have a special ai system that would protect the kids but also not interfere with the parents. They were perfect, with their growing personalities, and abundance of joy, and then his lawyer made a call. He was in need of a new night time security guard, that’s when he was told he had to hire Vanessa. It was fine at first, but he already wasn’t happy that the man had bought a good portion of the company’s shares. Now he was being told who to hire.
He thought Vanessa got along with Freddy and them at first, and then things started happening. Foxy began to glitch out and got into an accident. The Bonnie incident happened. He didn’t take kindly to people potentially harming his animatronics, his friends, his family. So he gave Vanessa the night off, donned his old cap and began to do some investigating. He didn’t know how it happened, everything happened so fast. He found himself in the basement, a level he’d never seen before. He saw a suit, The Suit. He started to panic, to run. His lungs didn’t work like they used to though, he had to pause to try and breathe, and then everything went dark.
When he next woke up everything was still dark, and he heard a voice. “Mr. Afton, did you really honestly think you could change anything? That he somehow wouldn’t be able to find you? As much as you try to run away from the past, it will always catch up to you. Take Vanessa for example. Her older sister was one of your fathers first victims, she still found you. It’s unfortunate we had to corrupt the software in your toys that you worked oh so hard on. I hear Freddy was inspired by your little brother. That he’d be the perfect friend and protector for any little boy that was scared and lost. We’re going to give you one final gift. Since you wanted Freddy to be the brother you never could be, we will let you become him.” Then everything was dark. Everything was dark until he heard a young boy's voice calling his name
#fnaf security breach#fnaf fanfic#fnaf#i think I’m really proud of this actually#it’s sad as hell#but so is the rest of the fandom so#oop

I passed my 600 follower goal so as a thank you enjoy this fic. I am really thankful for all of you encouraging me to write as it had boosted my confidence in my writing ☺
Title- Finally happy again
Pairing- Poly!Mikaelson boys x Bennett!Pregnant!Reader
Warnings- Angst at the beginning, Mikaelson boys getting protective, Unwanted pregnancy
You were numb staring at the piece of paper saying you were three months pregnant and you didn't know what to do as tears fell down your face. Damon made it clear he didn't want children after learning about Caroline being pregnant with Alaric's and Jo's twins due to some magical thing. You were the strongest Bennett witch after Grams so you sat looking though Grimoires to understand how you could be pregnant.
"Fuck fuck fuck." You growled throwing an old book that had no answers, you felt like crying as you couldn't talk to Damon as he wouldn't answer his phone. Lately you both had been problems with your relationship as you brought up he had been spending a lot of time with Elena then you caught Damon and Elena one night clearly having sex in Damon's bedroom.
You wondered just how did you get here and you wanted to call Bonnie but she was on her honeymoon with Enzo and didn't want to bother her. You looked though your phone pausing at a name that your friends didn't know you kept in touch with.....Rebekah Mikaelson.
Rebekah sat listening to her brothers argue about something when her phone rang. Rebekah grabbed it seeing your name on the screen.
"Hello darling." Rebekah answered getting her brothers attention right away. It was no secret to Rebekah that her brothers were in love with you and was every protective of you also every affectionate with you.
'Hey Beka.....I need help.' You tell her sounding scared this got Rebekah's attention right away as she sat up. You and Rebekah had gotten close when the Mikaelson siblings were in Mystic Falls as she found it unfair how you and your little sister got fucked over by your friends.
"Need me to kill Damon?"
'No....no...is your offer to stay with you New Orleans still on the table?'
"Yes of course." Rebekah tells you worried ignoring how her brothers were staring wanting to know if you were alright. You told Rebekah goodbye then packed a bag texting Bonnie to let her know you left Mystic Falls.
You paused wondering if you should tell Damon that you were leaving but decided against it but did tell your other friends. You hadn't take two steps into the Abattoir before Rebekah pulled you into her arms.
"Oh sweetheart, look at you....you're pregnant."
"Yeah. I have no idea how, Damon was the only guy I have ever slept with."
"Well well the strongest Bennett witch is here, Elijah." Klaus says walking over hugging you and pressing a kiss on your head then passed you to Elijah. The vampire smiled hugging you and kissed your forehead.
You sat explaining why you where there and what happened. Klaus told you that you were more than welcome to stay as long as you needed which warmed your heart. As you stayed with the Mikaelsons and the more you showed, you felt disconnected to the child you were carrying and Hayley didn't seem to help.
"It is your baby. How can you feel nothing for them?" Hayley says with frown feeling your belly as the baby moved. You looked at her then at your belly still feeling nothing, it wasn't that you didn't want the baby as you wanted kids but thanks to Damon cheating and being kinda of a dick, you weren't sure that you keep the baby.
"I don't know....I am not sure if I'll keep it." You tell Hayley getting a nasty glare from her made you feel terrible about your feelings about the whole thing. But Freya, Camille and Rebekah understood you and helped you work out your feelings.
"It isn't good for you to bottle them. Just because you don't feel anything for the baby now doesn't mean you won't after the baby is born."
"Also don't let Hayley get to you. She had my brothers wrapped around her fingers from day one. You just need to do what is good for you and the baby.
While they gave you encouragement, you couldn't help but notice how the Mikaelson men were every protective of you as at least one of them followed after you. You had gave birth to a baby boy on a cold December morning and once you held him in your arms, you adored the boy. The Mikaelson men were even more protective as you and your son were never out of their sight.
"Yeah I am good Bonbon so is Benji. As my four loving Mikaelson men won't let us be alone."
'I'm happy for you....but does Damon know about Benjamin?' Bonnie asked you over the phone as you rubbed your new born son's back.
"No but knowing Caroline, he found out five days ago." You tell your sister when Finn stepped in the bedroom with a smile as he had some lunch for you.
'Alright. Listen Enzo and I can make it down there this weekend.'
"Sounds great. See you then baby sis."
'See you then big sis.' Bonnie teased back as you both said your goodbyes. You smiled at Finn as he placed the tray down kissing you lightly and picked up Benjamin to placed the boy in his bassinet.
"How are you feeling?" Finn asked as you had gave birth a few days earlier and had somehow naturally you fell into a relationship with four Mikaelson men.
"Good, still feels weird to know I made this. Are Freya and Vincent still looking for answers?"
"They are." Finn says sitting next to you kissing your shoulder as you finished up your food then relaxing next to Finn enjoying the quiet before Klaus and Kol realize you were awake. Elijah stepped in smiling kissing your cheek whispering goodmorning.
"I have a bath ready for you." Elijah says picking you up and bathe you. You noticed that each of the Mikaelson men had a thing they liked doing things for you. Elijah enjoyed bathing you, Finn liked his cooking, Klaus would help with caring for Benjamin and Kol would be sure to take you out.
"You four are too good for me."
"You deserve to be treated like a Queen." Elijah tells you kissing you softly then moved doing your hair and got you dressed as both Elijah and Finn spent the day with you and Benjamin.
"Benji is spoiled." You said as you were feeding the boy as Klaus snorted a laugh and Kol kissed your head.
"Only the best for you and Benjamin." Klaus says moving his fingers over your hair. The sounded of crushing reached your ears and a blur Klaus was gone from your side and so was Kol.
"You left me to get knocked up by one of the Mikaelsons?!"
"Why are you here Damon?" You asked standing up seeing Alaric holding Klaus against a wall and Kol getting staked by Jeremy. You gently bounced Benjamin when he started to cry no longer was his two favorite Mikaelsons was near you both.
"I have been searching for you. You just left without a word! I only founded out from Elena."
"After or before you fucked her." You said glaring at him as Damon stared at you and before he could step forward, Elijah was infront of him blocking you from Damon. Finn had gotten Alaric off of Klaus who moved protecting Jeremy.
"Here for a reason Damon?" Elijah said lowly as a calm anger settled over him see Kol on the ground staked and Klaus almost staked as you were trying to calm a scared Benjamin.
"I want my girlfriend back but seeing how she got knocked up and sleeping with the enemy now. I might let you keep your little play thing.
"Enough, you will not speak of her like that or I'll remove your tongue." Elijah said trying to stay calm as you placed Benjamin down once he calmed down.
"Besides she came to us willing since you found comfort between the legs of the doppelganger." Klaus said smirking as Damon looked at you seeing you glaring.
"Baby, whatever you......" Damon grunted holding his head in pain as you walked passed Elijah. You glared at him angry while Bonnie was good at brain aneurysms, you made a vampire's blood boil finding it more effective.
"Oh no do not gaslight me, Damon. I have caught you with Elena, Bonnie had told me along with Caroline then I find out I was pregnant with your son which at this point you are nothing more than a sperm donor."
"So you run off to them?! You should have told Damon about his son."
"Oh sorry Jeremy, I was under the impression he never wanted children. Damon made sure I knew." You say letting Damon breath then Damon moved to grab you but Finn got you as Elijah's hand was in his chest.
"One move and I remove his heart." Elijah says as Klaus smirked watching Elijah as it was rare the noble Mikaelson did any threatening.
"I'll say this only once, leave and only return if Y/N allows it." Elijah said pulling his hand free letting go of Damon's heart. Damon looked at you then his son who was in your arms before leaving with Alaric and Jeremy.
"You know he is going to get Bonnie to convince me to return to Mystic Falls yes?"
"But knowing your sister, a Bennett witch never listens to a vampire." Klaus says walking over to Kol placing him on the couch to remove the stake. Since that day Damon hadn't stopped trying to get on your good side even Elena was asking you to forgive the vampire but you couldn't.
"So you and those four?" Bonnie says watching her husband holding Benjamin while talking to the four Mikaelson men. Bonnie and Enzo had came down for Christmas and your sister was surprised of your relationship with the brothers.
"Yeah. They are amazing and really great with Benji."
"As long as you are happy sis."
"I am Bonnie." You say smiling at your sister playing with the engagement ring on your finger then looked at your boys feeling your heart fill with warmth hearing their laughs.

Pinky promise
Steve Masterlist - Full Masterlist
Summary: After the war, everyone returns home and tries to move on with life. Not you. You’re forced to go back to Brooklyn to take over your uncle’s bar with a constant reminder by your side that the man you loved didn’t come back to you. And her name is Sarah.
Pairing: Steve x Fem!Reader
Word count: 5.2k
Brooklyn. It has been a long time since you’ve been there. Last time you were there Sarah Rogers told you it was too dangerous for a pregnant woman to stay around. She had a point. With most of the good men taken by the war, only the shady types remained. Scum will always find a way to get out of order.
You took Sarah’s advice back then. You left town and moved in with your brother on his farm. He got out of serving under a law that prevented all children from one family to be taken away. Their two older brothers were already fighting in the war so you and your brother were left.
But that didn’t matter, after all, you were carrying a child out of wedlock and you know how that goes. The child’s a bastard and the mother’s a whore but there’s no name for the man that left you like this. Sure, you could call him an asshole or whatever else you could think of but you don’t think of him like that. You could never think of him like that.
He was just a good man with a savior complex and a heart too big for his body. Besides, he didn’t know.
...
Either way, you promised yourself you’d never go back to Brooklyn in fear of bumping into him. What are you supposed to say when you see him? Hi, long time no see, this is your child, now go be a dad. That’d be mental.
But apparently you aren’t in faith’s favor. When your uncle died, you were told that you inherited his bar. The same bar you had spent endless nights at with your friends. The same bar you had gotten your first kiss in. The same bar where he told you he had to go. That thing is a scar and a half but you could never hate it.
You adored going there, working there, drinking there. It was a safe haven but now it’s old columns with bullet holes and blown out windows that need fixing. It ain’t all that bad. Some sanding and a new layer of paint oughta do it. You feel a tug at your hand. As you look down, you meet the most beautiful blue eyes with golden locks of hair. She looks so much like him.
‘Mommy, I don’t like this place.’ Her eyes are wide like a deer in the headlights, scared by all the cars and people on the streets. She’s used to the peace of your brother’s farm and you understand that the pace of the city might scare her. You kneel down next to her and put your hands on her shoulders so that she puts all her attention on you.
‘It’s just the marching band coming to play,’ you tell her in a calming voice with a comforting smile on your lips, ‘it’s just tubas and drums and loud noises. You’ll get used to it. I promise.’ You watch your little girl raise her pinky up to your face. ‘Pinky promise?’ You smile brighter as you hook your own pinky onto hers. ‘Pinky promise.’ She nods proudly as you stand up to take your keys out of your pocket and unlock the door for the both of you.
‘Y/n, is that you?’
‘Bloody hell, it’s her!’ You turn your head towards the commotion and see two girls barreling your way, almost jumping into your arms. ‘Jesus Christ woman, I missed you,’ the blonde one cries out. The brunette lets go first and smiles down at the little girl.
‘Bonnie, watch your language around the kid,’ the brunette snaps at the blonde.
‘Sorry Connie,’ she lets go of you and looks down at the kid. You put your hand on your daughter's shoulder to comfort her in meeting new people. These girls are far from strangers to you but she’s never seen them before.
‘Sweetheart, these are mommy’s friends,’ you explain to her, ‘that’s Bonnie and that’s Connie. Bonnie, Connie, this is my daughter, Sarah.’ Connie squads down to shakre the little girl’s hand with a wide smile on her face.
‘Very nice to meet you Sarah.’ Bonnie follows Connie’s movements and shakes Sarah’s hand next.
‘Yes, nice to meet you Sarah.’
‘Nice to meet you too,’ Sarah says with a shy smile but she quickly hides behind you as soon as the women get back up.
‘Goss, you’ve got your mother’s looks,’ Connie tells her, ‘that’s a good thing.’ Bonnie nods in agreement.
‘You’ve got a point there,’ she says, ‘so who’s the daddy?’ You look down at the ground for a second, feeling your stomach drop. Sarah looks up at you with hopeful eyes but opts to answering herself.
‘Daddy’s fighting bad guys,’ she proudly tells them.
‘That’s right sweetheart,’ you assure her with a weakened smile. You quickly unlock the door to the bar for her and she runs inside, excited to see what it looks like from the inside. ‘We shouldn’t talk about this outside,’ you tell the girls ‘people talk.’ They don’t ask questions about your nervous stature, they just follow.
‘Sweetheart, why don’t you go have a look upstairs,’ you tell Sarah as you hand her the key to the apartment above the bar. The apartment that’s yours now. The girl nods excitedly and runs up the stairs, more than happy to escape the unknown faces of the women that suddenly embraced her mother. A breath of relief escapes your lips as you watch her go.
Connie and Bonnie follow you into the main area of the bar. For a second, just a second, it feels like it used to on those Saturday nights when the boys would take you out dancing but you’d always end up here when the night got colder. Your uncle would always give you the first drink on the house and you’d always cheer him on for doing so. It’s a shame he’s gone so soon.
Without really thinking about it, you venture to the table in the corner where you’d usually sit with Bonnie and Connie and whoever else wanted to join. When you look down at the wood, you can still see your initials carved into it. A faint smile thugs on your lips when you run your fingers over them. It’s been too long.
‘Spill,’ Connie demands when you’re all seated. She sounds rougher than she intended to. You can tell by the way she flinches ever so slightly. She always had a way of sounding a little too harsh at the wrong moments but you know it’s never meant that way. It’s just her tone of voice.
‘I wasn’t going to come back,’ you admit with a meek smile, ‘too many memories.’
‘But you did. Why? It can’t just be the bar.’ She’s right. It never was just the bar. Though coming back might bring shame to you and Sarah, the hope of running into Sarah’s father was still there. Maybe, just maybe, you wanted to see him again.
Bonnie leans her elbows on the table in anticipation, her head resting in her palms. She looks like she’s going to hear the greatest love story ever told. If only it were that way. You hesitate to tell them why. What would they think of you if they knew before? The three of you never really did talk about children or marriage. But the truth will out one way or another and you’d rather have it out on your terms.
‘You know, you’d think with the world changing so much, we would’ve gone past calling a child a bastard but we really haven’t,’ you say as you feel your voice starts to shake, ‘poor girl deserves a dad and the dad deserves to know he’s got a child.’
‘Who is it,’ Bonnie pushes. You look up from the table with teary eyes. ‘Steve.’ It’s like the world stops for a second as the two women give each other a confused look. It’s like they can’t comprehend it. Steve, your best friend, got you pregnant.
‘Wait, skinny Steve or buff Steve,’ Connie asks you. Now it’s your turn to be confused.
‘Wha-what does that even mean? I guess skinny Steve. Was there another Steve around,’ you ask them. They share another look that means nothing to you but there’s concern in their eyes and you don’t know why. It worries you.
‘Did you have a TV on your brother’s farm?’
‘No, just a radio.’ Bonnie runs her hands through her hair and leans back in her chair, astounded by what you just said but it doesn’t give you any clearity.
‘Oh, you have to be joking,’ Connie exclaims, ‘you don’t know?’
‘Don’t know what? What should I know?’
‘Do you know who Captain America is?’
‘Yeah, he’s everywhere. Posters, toys, everything,’ you say as you let out a nervous chuckle, ‘what’s that got to do with Steve?’
‘Steve is Captain America.’
‘Okay, now you’re just talking nonsense,’ you say as you get up from your chair and walk over to the bar, seeing if it’s alright. The two chase after you quickly.
‘We’re not,’ Bonnie claims, ‘the man had some sort of experiment done on him or something.’
‘Steve is Captain America? You mean the man that couldn’t even talk to women properly?’
‘Says the one who got knocked up by him,’ Bonnie comments, earning her a slap on the arm from Connie. ‘Ouch,’ she whines, ‘I was just saying.’
‘Just because you didn’t like him doesn’t mean she didn’t,’ Connie hisses quietly to Bonnie to make her shut up. You can’t help but chuckle at the banter between the two. They basically share one brain cell and it always struck you as adorable when they seemed to be opposite sides of the brain.
‘But why’d you let me go on the double date back then,’ Bonnie asks you, knowing full well that Connie had asked you first because she had already expected something going on between Steve and you.
‘I had nothing to worry about,’ you tell her as a nostalgic grin pulls onto your lips, ‘besides, I didn’t want to have to explain why I wasn’t drinking.’ Bonnie gasps.
‘You already knew back then?’
‘Of course I knew,’ you sigh, ‘but it wasn’t a stable pregnancy yet and I just didn’t know things would change the way they did.’ Connie grabs a barstool off the ground and puts it down, taking a seat on it.
‘So why’d you leave,’ she asks.
‘When Steve left, I was worried I’d have to be on my own raising a child,’ you explain to them, ‘then his mother suggested going to my brother’s farm for a while.’ You hear the stairs creak as Sarah runs downstairs calling out to you. You call back to her to let her know where you are. When she runs into the bar, you can’t help but stare at her adoringly. She’s just so damn stunning. She runs up to you and jumps into your arms.
‘How do you like it,’ you ask her.
‘It’s great,’ she says with glowing eyes, ‘but there’s too much space for the two of us.’ Sarah had only ever lived on your brother’s farm where she had to share a room with you. She had never lived anywhere where she had her own room.
‘We’ll make it work,’ you promise her.
‘Well, we should get going,’ Connie announces, hooking her arm onto Bonnie’s to stop her from protesting, ‘but we’ll come around tomorrow to help you clean this place.
‘That would be wonderful,’ you smile at them as they take their leave. When the door closes, Sarah takes your hand in hers and looks at you with seriousness in her eyes that you had only ever seen before when Steve talked about enlisting and how important it was to him.
‘Mommy, it looks like there’s someone else living upstairs,’ she tells you.
‘Well, that’s because my uncle left his stuff here for us,’ you explain to her as you put her down, ‘let’s go lock the door and then you can show me around. Yeah?’ The girl’s eyes light up again as she nods excitedly. You can barely lock the door with her pulling at your arm.
Before you follow her up the stairs, you take one last look at the bar. The memories you’ve made there are as thick as the layers of dust on the furniture. You don’t like to admit it but you’re glad you’re back and you know now, with your little girl already being so excited, that you two are going to be just fine.
...
‘Y/n! We’re here!’ You jump up from behind the bar, quickly patting down your pants to rid them of dust as you walk towards the front door to greet Bonnie and Connie. Bonnie flies around your neck as she did yesterday.
‘Hi love,’ you greet her with a grin that goes from ear to ear, ‘how are you doing?’
‘We’re alright,’ Bonnie says with a mischievous look on her face as she steps aside to allow Connie to greet you.
‘We found an old friend on the way here,’ Connie tells you as she steps aside to reveal a face you haven’t seen in ages. Gosh, if it were any longer you might’ve not recognized him anymore. He looks withered but the smirk on his face is ever present as well as the cocky look in his eyes and confident stature.
‘Are my eyes deceiving me? James Buchanan Barnes, how are you doing?’ You wrap your arms around his neck to pull him into a close embrace that he accepts gratefully. His arms snake around your waist as he pulls you as close as he possibly can.
‘It’s been too long, doll,’ he says and puts his hands on your hips to distance you from him. Just so he can have a good look at you. ‘Jeez, you haven’t changed since ‘42. You look stunning.’
‘You’ve got a bit more stubble on your chin,’ you tease, ‘and a haircut would do you wonders.’ He snickers as he briefly tickles your sides. You cry out a laugh and take a few steps away, lightly jogging towards the bar knowing he’ll follow.
‘So, I hear you’re the owner of this place now,’ he says as he follows with big strides, walking around like it’s still his go-to bar. You watch him as he has a look around.
‘I am,’ you say with a proud smile, ‘my uncle left it to me.’
‘He couldn’t have left it in better hands,’ he grins at you as he stalks over to the corner table, having a look at the carved initials on it. ‘Wow, they’re still here.’ You walk over to him, watching him drag his fingers over his own initials next to yours and Steve’s.
‘They are.’
‘Where’s the little one,’ Connie asks you. Your eyes shoot over at her right as she realizes what she’s just said. Bucky doesn’t know. Her hands move in front of her mouth.
‘Little one?’ As if on que, you hear the stairs creak under the weight of Sarah’s rushed footsteps. She told you yesterday that she was excited to see your friends again, even if she had been scared of them initially. You let yourself drop into a chair and hide your face in your hands as she steps into the room. You don’t have to see Bucky’s face to know that he looks shocked. Sarah looks exactly like Steve, how could he not be shocked?
‘Mommy, who’s that?’ You look up from your hands and gesture for Sarah to get closer but she looks nervous and stays where she is.
‘It’s okay sweetheart,’ you tell her as you reach out to her. She walks over and takes your hand, hiding behind it slightly at the sight of yet another stranger. ‘Sarah, this is Bucky. Bucky is a friend of mine,’ you explain to her, ‘Connie, Bonnie, Bucky, and I would come here a lot together.’ You look up at Bucky, trying to keep eyes from poking in your eyes and failing terribly. ‘Bucky, this is Sarah. My daughter.’ Bucky nods and makes himself a bit smaller, holding out his hand to shake Sarah’s hand.
‘Nice to meet you Sarah.’
‘Nice to meet you too mister Bucky.’
‘Just Bucky is fine,’ he tells her with a friendly smile.
‘Sweetheart, why don’t you go show Bonnie and Connie where we live now,’ you suggest to her, ‘I’m sure they’d love to see the drawings you put up.’ That’s all it takes for the little girl to grab Bonnie and Connie by their skirts and drag them upstairs, leaving you and Bucky alone for a few minutes.
‘That girl looks exactly like Steve,’ he exclaims. You shoot up from your chair and hurriedly walk over to the bar.
‘Really? I hadn’t noticed.’ You reach for a rag you had been cleaning with before your friends walked in, running it over the bar to take Bucky’s attention off you as your feel a lump form in your throat. However, Bucky doesn’t do well with being avoided. He grabs your wrist and takes the rag out of your hand, throwing it somewhere you can’t just reach.
‘I know you and Steve had a fling back in the day so I’m only going to ask this once. Is she Steve’s?’ He watches as your eyes fill with tears while you try to swallow away the lump in your throat. It’s as if all the hurt and hardships you’ve been through these past years while raising Sarah suddenly wash over you. You feel your shoulders start to shake as you take your bottom lip between your teeth to keep it from quivering. Bucky’s expression softens and he pulls you into a hug, gently rubbing your back until you calm down. ‘Why didn’t you say anything?’
‘His mother asked me not to,’ you softly stammer into his ear as a sob slips from your lips, ‘I thought he was going to stay.’
‘So did I doll, so did I.’ You push off him, holding both his shoulders to keep him away from you. There’s a pit in your stomach as you try to speak but the words don’t seem to be coming out quite right. It takes a few seconds before you manage to form a sentence.
‘You can’t tell him. Please don’t tell him,’ you hear yourself beg with a shaky voice. That’s not what you wanted to say. You want Steve to know but why can’t you do it?
‘I won’t, but there’s something you have to know,’ he tells you as he takes your hand and leads you back to the corner table. His hands take yours and his thumb gently drags over the back of your hand to keep you grounded. ‘Steve is seeing someone.’
He expected you to scream, or at least cry. But you just sit there, frozen, nodding ever so slightly to let him know you understand. Your feelings are on overdrive and at this point you’re not quite sure if you’re even feeling anything.
‘Mommy, are you okay?’ Your eyes dart over to Sarah’s. Your hands move to your eyes to wipe away your tears as you see Bonnie and Connie running into the room to grab the girl.
‘Mommy is fine,’ you tell her as she walks over to you. You pick her up and set her on your lap. ‘But sometimes even mommy has to cry.’
‘Please don’t.’ You push a smile onto your face to appease your little girl.
‘I’ll try not to,’ you tell her, ‘can you go upstairs with Bonnie and Connie a little longer? I have some boring adult things to discuss with Bucky.’ She nods and jumps off your lap, dragging Bonnie and Connie along like she had done mere minutes ago.
‘She is so much like Steve,’ you tell Bucky with a small smile on your face as your eyes linger on the empty staircase, ‘you know, on my brother’s farm she used to try to resolve fights between the animals.’
‘That does sound a lot like Steve,’ Bucky chuckles as he takes her hand again, ‘I hope she doesn’t fight as much as he does.’ You shake your head, a nostalgic look in your eyes. Oh how you remember all the times Bucky had to save Steve’s ass when he got into yet another fight. It got even worse when the two of you were fooling around and a man would look at you wrong. However, you did love him for it. Maybe you still do. You’re not sure.
‘I did want to tell him,’ you say, your voice surprisingly steady, ‘I was about to send him a letter when his mother told me it would be better if I left town.’
‘She told you to leave town?’ You nod.
‘Said it would be better for my safety and the baby and she was right,’ you admit, ‘but I’ve never been able to shake the feeling that I was keeping something from him.’
‘Do you want him to know?’ You nod again and look up at him with a smile.
‘You know, we didn’t have a TV so I didn’t know he was Captain America until Bonnie and Connie told me yesterday,’ you tell him, ‘but it makes sense.’
‘It does. He was always the best of us three.’ Bucky sounds proud as he says it, as he should be. Steve has always been a good man who doesn’t let his judgement be clouded by money and power.
‘She makes my life so much more meaningful,‘ you tell Bucky proudly, ‘I know I never wanted to be a mother but she changed everything. It’s like she’s got all Steve’s good parts but it hurts that she has to withstand name calling just because she doesn’t have a dad. She doesn’t deserve that.’ You look past Bucky onto the busy streets, watching as people walk by. Children are playing on the streets, women are going to the shops, men are reading the paper and smoking, and families... Happy, complete, families walk the sidewalks with smiles on their faces. They don’t have to worry about what others think of them. You wish it was like that for Sarah.
‘Do you want them to meet?’
‘I do but it isn’t fair to either of them to just put them in a room together,’ you tell Bucky, ‘I’d have to face Steve on my own first.’
‘That’s fair, do you want me to bring him around sometime?’ You continue to stare out the window as your eye suddenly fall on someone. You feel like all color is draining from your face. No, this can’t be real. Not right now. ‘Doll?’ You nod towards the window. Bucky turns around to see Steve standing right there, looking in with a grin on his face, happily waving at you. Of course, that would just be your luck. Bucky turns back to you.
‘I can send him away if you need more time.’
‘It doesn’t matter. I’ve got to face him sometime,’ you say with a meek smile. It wipes away when you flinch from the loud bang of the front door slamming against the wall. Steve runs into the room, still wearing a grin on his face.
‘Y/n?’ You get up from your chair to greet him.
‘Hi Steve, good to see you.’ In his excitement, he runs up to you and engulfs you in a hug like you’ve never shared before. He’s so much bigger than you now. It’s almost suffocating but that could also be the nerves. However, the feeling is familiar as is his smell. It’s comforting and warm. Your arms wrap around his waist to hold him close. You’re not sure if you ever want him to let you go but he steps back after a hug that lasts a little too long.
’Jeez, you’re still as beautiful as when I left,’ he smiles.
‘And I thought you were done growing when you left,’ you try to joke, pushing your anxiety aside.
‘I thought so too,’ he says and turns to Bucky to quickly shake his hand in greeting. ‘Did you know she was back?’
‘No, I ran into Bonnie and Connie today. They found out she was back yesterday,’ Bucky tells him. ‘They’re around here somewhere to help clean the bar.’ Steve nods at Bucky’s blatant lie but he doesn’t seem to notice.
‘So, you’re running your uncle’s bar now?’ You nod but Steve can tell that you’re nervous. Your eyes are still red and puffy and he saw you cry when he looked through the window. ‘Are you okay?’ You nod, averting your eyes from him.
‘Sit down, we have to talk,’ you say as you sit back down. He looks confused as he sits down next to Bucky in his usual place. It’s a strange sight. He doesn’t fit into the picture anymore. He’s gotten too big.
‘What is it?’ You take a deep breath.
‘Listen, I can keep running around this but that wouldn’t be fair to you-’
‘You’re making me nervous Y/n.’ His eyes shoot to Bucky but he isn’t giving him anything. In fact, he’s leaning back to show to Steve that this is something between the two of you. He’s just there for moral support.
‘You have a child.’ His jaw drops as he scrambles to find the words to say.
‘I’m sorry, I have a what now?’ Bucky leans forward and hits Steve’s arm.
‘You heard her,’ he snaps, ‘Jesus, don’t you see how much this is taking out of her?’
‘It’s fine Bucky,’ you assure him.
‘Did you know,’ Steve asks Bucky and you feel the situation slipping from your fingers.
‘No, I didn’t know but it isn’t my child.’
‘Stop it,’ you snap. The men look back at you and their faces drop as they watch tears slip onto your cheeks. You grab Steve’s hand from the table. ‘Yes, you have a child. Her name is Sarah Josephine Y/l/n. I couldn’t call her Rogers because we’re not married but I thought you’d like that name for her.’
‘I do, but why am I only hearing this now,’ he asks, obviously confused and stressed. Suddenly, there is the weight of being a runaway dad on his shoulders. Even if he didn’t know about the child’s existence up until now, he still doesn’t like it.
‘Your mother asked me to move away from the city for the safety of the child,’ you explain to him, ‘and I didn’t know how to reach you. I mean, damn, I didn’t even know you changed this much.’ Steve stays quiet for a while, looking at his hand in yours as your thumb gently strokes over his skin. Your hands had always been smaller than his and he always liked how they looked next to his but for some reason he feels strange because of your touch.
‘Can I see her?’ You look from Steve to Bucky, your eyes carry worry as you wipe away your tears.
‘I don’t know. She’s already met so many new people today, it might-’ Steve squeezes your hand gently and looks up at you with hopeful eyes. Eyes that she has never been able to say no to.
‘Please?’ You sigh, taking a second to collect yourself. Why did it have to be him?
‘I just need to know one thing,’ you state, not daring to look into his eyes, ‘I know you’re dating someone but if I let you meet her, will you stay in her life? Because I can’t introduce her to her dad and then tell her that she never gets to see him again. It would break her heart.’ His hand gently slips under her chin, pushing her head up slightly so she’s looking at him.
‘I promise.’ You take a deep breath and let go of his hand as you put your pinky up.
‘Pinky promise?’ A smile spreads on his face as he hooks his pinky onto hers like he had done a thousand times before. When he promised to pick her up from somewhere, when he promised he’d stay loyal to her when going out with Bucky, when he promised he’d come back to her after the war. That last one is the only one he hadn’t made true yet.
‘Pinky promise.’ You nod, a small smile on your lips as your pinky slips from his. He watches as you walk over to the staircase and disappear for a little. When you reappear, you’re carrying a little girl. Eyes as blue as his, golden locks draping over her shoulders, and a tiny stature.
‘Sarah, I want you to meet someone,’ you tell your daughter with a gentle smile, ‘this is Steve Rogers.’ You put her down in the middle of the bar, letting her choose what to do. You watch as her eyes widen at the sight of Steve. She knows of Steve Rogers. You told her about him.
As his eyes meet those of Sarah, he gets up from his chair so fast the thing falls onto the floor, scaring Sarah into hiding behind you. His eyes fill with hurt as he watches her hide and he gets on his knees to be more on eye level with Sarah.
‘But mommy, he isn’t scrawny at all.’ You let out a laugh and kneel down next to her, putting your hand on her shoulder.
‘Scrawny? Really?’ Steve bellows a soft laugh as you shrug.
‘He was really scrawny when he was younger,’ you reassure Sarah, ‘he just got bigger.’ She wraps her hands around your arm for security as she looks at him.
‘Are you so big from fighting bad guys?’ You nod vigorously at Steve in hopes that he gets the hints.
‘Yes,’ he says with a gentle smile. That seems to put Sarah’s nerves at ease a little. She takes a step away from her and a step closer to Steve.
‘Are you a soldier?’
‘I’m a captain,’ he tells her proudly. Sarah nods, pretending to understand him as she takes another step closer.
‘Are you going to stay? Because mommy told me you weren’t with us because you had to fight bad guys in the war.’
‘Well, the war is over,’ he tells her as he peeks past Sarah at you, ‘so I think I’ll stick around a while.’ Sarah takes the last few steps towards him and puts her pinky up to him.
‘Pinky promise?’ He smiles at her and hooks her pinky onto hers, marveling at the size difference of their hands. That’s his daughter. His little girl. And just behind her is her mother. You, the amazing woman that he admired from the second he laid eyes on you.
There’s nothing in this wide, wide world that could keep him away from the two of you. And as he looks back at you and watches a tear slip onto your cheek again, he knows you know too.
‘Pinky promise.’

My thoughts on the vampire diaries and the originals
Where are the survival instincts in characters
Where is the common sense
Leave Mystic Falls when you get the chance unless you wanna die multiple times, I'm looking at you Bonnie
Only reason dumb and dumber aka Damon and Stefan is still alive is because of plot armour
1000 years old vampires and still act like childish idiots with no impulsive control
Why are their so many mikaelson incest fics on ao3
Did rebekah groom marcel because she knew him since he was a child?
Kolvina is cute and no one can tell me otherwise
I hate Damon and Stefan, no one can change my opinion on that
Elena need more survival instinct and need therapy
How did Damon and Stefan survive so long?
Kol and Davina is my favourite characters
Rebekah is kinda annoying with her falling in love bullshit
Klaus with Caroline or cami wouldn't work because he's too much of narcissistic person with small dick energy
Elijah is hypocrite
Hayley and Niklaus is cute ship and I ship it
Davina is badass and I want to adopt her
Only mikealson who I would actually hang out with is kol because at least he's more loyal unlike rest of mikealson siblings
Freya I would totally fuck her no question asked
Finn deserves better and one of the few characters I would adopt
Josh rosza is adorable af and I would adopt him as well
Slut shaming in the vampire diaries and the originals is so toxic
How many men have rebekah indirectly killed because she wanted to 'fall in love'
Same could be said with elijah because of niklaus jealousy
Let not forget poor little niklaus, poor thing have so many issues, abandonment issues, paranoia, narcissistic, mummy and daddy issues and that only on the top my head
Let not forget Julie what her name aka TV shows writer, she love romanticizing abuse, rape, racism, toxic and controlling relationships
Marcel will always choose new Orleans and people he close to over rebekah, it sad that rebekah will always be second best to marcel, she have no self worth whatsoever, when rebekah take the cure then marcel obviously going to leave, he's that type of person and total fuck boy
Elena and her gang of friends are willing to commit mass genocide for stupid cure
Marcel was also willing to commit mass genocide as well because he knew elijah sireline was still linked? Why does people not talk about this, I mean granted, it was because elijah killed him when he was grieving Davina because of elijah and Freya sacrifice Davina soul to save their family
At Davina funeral I cried so hard with how sad that scene and only time I cried throughout the vampire diaries and the originals
I love Vincent so much, he just badass dude
I love marcel, dude deserves better
Mikeal and his wife can go die in a slow and painful death
Let not forget Damon killing pregnant women because that not talked about enough
Let not forget Damon sexually abusing Caroline and using her as his blood bag in season one and not facing any consequences instead he got happy ending where people like enzo and Bonnie got no happy ending, Stefan also knew about what Damon was doing to Caroline and did nothing about it
The only good part about the originals Season 4 is when Davina got revived and any any scene with kol in it ( yeah I'm Kol simp)
Am I the only one who think Hayley and Niklaus would be good couple because I'm shipping them hard
Kolvina reunion in season 4 made my cold dead heart warm again
I have strong dislike towards season 4 elijah because he's had to have his memory erased, that cause more problems in the long run because he couldn't live without his family and poor Hayley paid the price because of his selfishness and stupid actions
Why the fuck couldn't niklaus live without elijah and poor hope never really got to know her father because he was too selfish to give his daughter simple call
Let not forget elijah committed suicide with niklaus when it was no need for it, he could've been there for hope, same with freya, rebekah and kol ( I don't blame kol not wanting to do anything with his family but at least he calls hope😒)
Hayley deserves better than dying pointless death, Julie sucks big time and ruined the originals for me, season 5 doesn't exist for me because it sucks
Why the hell did elijah and rebekah give out their weakness to a bunch of idiots aka Scooby gang🤦🏼♀️
At this point I'm still adding stuff as I go
#anti damon salvatore#anti stefan salvatore#I'm tired#the vampire diaries#The originals#Anti rebekah mikealson#Anti Marcel Gerard#anti katherine pierce#Pro Davina Claire#Pro kol mikaelson#anti klaus mikaelson#Pro Caroline#Pro cami#anti elena gilbert#Kinda but also not#It confusing but everyone need therapy#Anti freya mikaelson#Kolvina#Ship name#Pro Bonnie Bennett#I said what I said#my opinion#anti julie plec#Bonnie deserves better#Don't point out my spelling mistakes because I won't fix it out of spite#We stan ships who bring the best out of each other like kolvina#Just criticising tvd/TO characters because I can and I reach my limit for tags#Anti freya mikealson#Pro Vincent Griffith

He had never believed it, the idea of soulmates. Someone who made in the stars just for him? That would love him no matter what? Someone he would love till the end of his life? Someone perfect to him in every which way?
Yeah right, he was not that dumb to believe something like that, villains didn’t get happy endings, or someone to love.
They didn’t need it, or deserve it.
His father's world had been black and white since he was born, he had been told that color erupted around him the first time he stepped onto a ship out on the open seas, but Harry wasn’t inclined to believe him after the 30th time he had asked what the color of something was and his father refused to answer.
Some days he looked out across the strait of Ursula to see Auradon, wondering if he did have a soulmate and if they lived there.
Somedays he dreamed of someone with a laugh that sounded like the soft bells you would hear in those Auradon commercials around the holidays, not the ones he would find that sounded like a little metal ball hitting against cheap plastic.
Sometimes he would dream that he was on a large great pirate ship, walking along the deck with someone as they sang a sea shanty with the most beautiful voice he had ever heard, he akined it to a siren that sang to sailors about their deepest loves and wishes.
Deep down he knew it was dreams of his soulmate, hinting to him so he could find them easier. But he had already convinced himself that he didn’t have one, so he did his best to ignore those dreams.
He never thought that he would be proved wrong.
When he kidnapped King Ben and informed Evie, Jay, and Carlos about the deal Uma wanted to make with Mal. He didn’t expect to look behind Carlos as see a flash of color in a pair of eyes he had sworn he had seen in his dreams.
He ignored it, turning and walking back to the crew and escorting King Ben back to the ship. It didn’t mean his mind wasn’t on those curious sparkling (e/c) eyes for the entire night.
The entire day leading to the trade for Ben, he saw flashes of (e/c) everywhere, a bead on Bonnie's bracelet, a cloth hanging from the clothing lines, a shimmer from the sea below the revenge.
He forced himself to think that it was a fluke, that those hypnotic eyes hadn’t been the ones belonging to the one that would be called his soulmate.
He threw that out the window when he was chasing after Ben and slammed into someone, his mind screamed at him to drop his weapons and catch them before they hurt themselves, he listened. His hook and sword clattered to the deck as he wrapped his arms around their waist and tugged them back on their feet.
Their colorless hair bounced a bit as they shook their head to clear their frazzled mind and looked up, Harrys breath stopped as the (e/c) eyes looked into his, the world now exploding into color.
Time froze as the two newly found soulmates started into each other's eyes, Harry's grip around their waist tightening as he started to look at them. Soft looking (h/l) (h/c) hair, blush tinted (s/c) decorated with (freckles, scars, beauty marks, whatever), (chapped, scarred, soft, plump, thin) lips agape as they stared back at him.
His soulmate…was everything the stories had said. They were perfect to him, truly made in the stars just for him.
As time resumed, Harry flinched a bit as he heard the frustrated screams of Uma and Mal. He looked up, gritting his teeth as the traitors and Ben backed up near the tunnel, calling out for someone's name.
(y/n)…that was his soulmate's name.
“Yeh have ta go” he whispered to them, releasing his grip on their waist and sliding it up to their shoulders, giving them a reassuring smile when they protested “we’ll see each other again, I promise…I’m Harry” they stopped, whispering their name back before grabbing one of his hands and pecking his palm, turning and running towards their friends, glancing back at Harry the entire time as the core four and Ben made their escape.
Harry gingerly picked up his weapons, starting at his reflection in his hook. So that’s what his mother meant when his eyes had reflected the colors of the sea. He hooked his hook on his belt and went to sheath his sword, watching as the red fabric he had tied to his sword handle fluttered in the wind.
He sighed, rolling his neck and watching as Uma stormed off, watching as her colored hair flew around her as she took the long way around the wharf to get to the other side of the tunnel. He had always told her that her hair was beautiful, but now he knew he had never lied.
-
He perked up as his soulmate walked on screen, wearing a crimson dress/suit with delicate details on the chest that reached down to their waist. His brow twitched as some of the crew booed at his soulmate and chucked food at the screen.
(i made three of these so be prepared)
He ignored them, keeping his eyes on his beautiful soulmate. Their sparkling (e/c)s looked straight at the camera, looking as if they hoped they could see him through the lens.
They looked away a moment later, tuning and walking onto the ship for cotillion.
Every time the camera panned over them during the main event, Harry felt his heart flutter, just wanting to hold them in his arms again.
When Uma turned into the giant cecaelia, the water from her emerging from the sea had destroyed the cameras, cutting off the crew from watching her take over, and Harry from seeing his soulmate.
He cursed to himself, wishing he had told Uma of (y/n) before she left Uma wouldn’t accidentally hurt her.
All he could do now was wait.
-
It was two years before he saw his soulmate again, only getting glimpses of them through a cruddy screen, but their eyes always seemed to shine through the fuzzy and fading tv.
He and Gil snuck up behind the unsuspecting core four, leaping through the closing gap of the barrier and for the first time, stepping outside of the prison they called home.
“We did it!” he and Gil hugged each other for a moment before remembering the vks next to them, who were staring at them bewildered and apprehensively.
“uh, hey guys~!” He sang, giving a small wave before turning to Gil and gesturing towards the other end of the bridge “we were just coming for a wee visit~!” and to see (y/n) but they didn’t need to know that.
As he and Gil tried to push past the core four, Carlos and Jay pushed them back, Harry growled a bit and shoved Carlos, the younger teen bumping back into Mal and making her drop the small blue crystal in her hand.
“hey-hey!!” as she ducked down to grab it, harry swiped down with his hook and then threw his arm to the side, sending the crystal into the sky and dropping down into the sea. “no!” Mal screamed, stilling as a large turquoise tentacle reached up and grabbed it.
Uma rose from the sea, Harry and Gil looked at each other as they realized their captain and friend had returned “Drop something~” Uma purred, the tentacle holding the crystal opening to show it to Mal.
“It can't get wet, give it back before it goes out!” Uma cackled at Mal's plead.
“Uma?!” Harry and Gil yelled, the sea witch looking at them with a smile and wave.
“that’s my name~!” moments later she ducked back under the waves, Mal screaming out another objection.
The water rose up in a tunnel, rising higher than the broken bridge the vks were standing on. It burst out, spraying them with water.
Harry and Gil looked back over the edge, looking for their friend “hi boys~” they spun around, Harry grinning and holding his hook up as Uma grinned back at him.
He cackled as he walked toward her “welcome back~” Uma’s smile diminished for a moment as Gil looked at her with sad eyes.
“Uma, you swam off and forgot all about us” Mal scoffed, rolling her eyes and crossing her arms.
“yeah, planning a revenge no doubt” Uma laughed a bit, stepping away from her boys and giving a nasty smirk to Mal.
“it's not all about you Mal” Mal seemed surprised and appalled at the comeback “I was looking for a hole in the barrier, to let everybody out?” she turned back to Harry and Gil, who grinned at her “and you know what I found boys? It’s way better out there than we thought” she walked a bit closer to them, an excited spark in her eyes. “there's this thing that looks like a furry rock, called a coconut. And fish so big you can dance on their backs!” Uma looked back at Mal. “and they’ve been keeping it all for themselves~” Harry clicked his tongue in disappointment, shaking his finger a bit.
“Whatever, Uma I need that to break a spell” Mal held her hand out as if expecting Uma would just hand over the crystal with just her word.
“Cast by sleeping beauty’s daughter Audrey” Carlos continued, watching as Uma pursed her lip in fake concern.
“so, the good guys the bad guy huh?” she let out a soft laugh “well I might not give it back, just to see what happens~”
“Uma it's not the time for games, people’s lives are in danger!” harry felt his heart stop as an image of (y/n)s body came to mind, unable to move as darkness swirled around them. He shook his head, forcing his mind to pay attention to what was happening right in front of him.
“Guarantee me, that every single villain kid who wants too, can get off the isle” Mal glared a bit and shook her head.
“I can't do that” Uma just gave her a ‘really bitch’ look and walked towards the edge of the bridge.
“can't do that huh, well how bout now!” she held her hand over the edge, dangling the crystal between her fingers.
“Deal!” Mal yelled, a satisfied smirk growing on Uma’s face as she watched Mal panic “Deal.” Uma faked a stumble, Evie calling out her name to stop her from dropping the crystal.
“Uma!” Uma looked over to Evie with a satisfied look on her face “her word is good” Uma stepped away from the edge, bringing the crystal to her face and glancing from it to mal before shaking her head
“I’ll still keep this, for the time being,” Mal scoffed, crossing her arms again “because if you think I trust you to save the world on your own, think again” Uma turned back to Harry and Gil, a wide grin on her face “this is a job for pirates!”
And with a ‘friendship’ suggestion from Evie, the vks were off to Auradon in an attempt to save it.
Another two hours, finding a courtyard of sleeping students, fighting spelled suits of armor, and then finally being sent off to find Ben, Harry was…bored.
He, Jay, Carlos, and Gil had been walking for thirty minutes through the enchanted forest but had noticed the colors around him had started to brighten, unlike they were on the isle.
‘the farther you are away from your soulmate the duller the world will be’ he remembered his mother telling him when was a babe, and it proved to be true after he met (y/n) and when they left the isle was dull again, he could see the colors but they were so drab and grey that it felt like he never found them at all.
He glanced down at his hook, smirking as his ocean blue eyes seemed to awaken with color again, the grass below him fading into that fresh green he had only heard about, looking up to see Jay and Carlos’ colors standing against the earthy tones of the forest.
He was close to his soulmate, he had to be, all he had to do now was find them as he promised.
If only a cursed beast Ben hadn't interrupted him. Jay pulled his arm out of the way, Harry spinning on his heel and sending a right hook at beast Ben's face and yelping as he turned and leaped at him.
Jay grabbed his jacket and forced him to bend back and leaned Harry towards himself, Harry spun himself back around, standing just behind Jay.
“yeh need some serious nose adjustments!” Harry snarled, flinching back as Ben roared. Ben looked between him and Gil, and snarled, leaning back on his haunches and about to leap at them.
Harry and Gil stepped back as he leaped forward, reeling his claws back to slash when a silver hilted cutlass flew between them, sticking into a tree just next to them.
The boys turned, Harry's world exploding into bright color again as he laid his eyes on (y/n). then his breath stopped as he looked at their clothes. A black button-up shirt, unbuttoned down to the middle of their chest, black ripped pants that had belts and buckles on the right leg, tall dark brown worn boots, multiple necklaces hanging between the open sides of their shirt, silver and gold rings, leather bracelets, and red and black skull stud leather fingerless gloves. “wow” Harry croaked, taking another step back as Ben swiped at (y/n).
They ducked under the swipe and ran towards the silver hilted cutlass, flipping it in their grip and blocking a couple of swipes from Ben's claws. Within moments they trapped Ben down on his front claws, raising their brow as a sharp dark object caught their eye.
They quickly ripped out the object out of Ben's paw and leaped back as Ben roared in pain and swiped his claws up “Jane now!” (y/n) called, backing up near the boys and looking at Harry, a smile growing on their face.
Suddenly a spray of water hit Ben, a soft glow and sparkles appearing as the beast form shrunk down into Ben's human form. Jay ran forward to go help Ben as (y/n) and Harry stared at each other.
The world around them blurred away and it seemed like it was just them. Gil looked between them and smiled, turning to go join the boys and Jane as Harry and (y/n) stepped closer to each other.
“I told yeh we’d see each other, again didn’t I?” Harry hummed, letting out a soft chuckle as (y/n) bit their lip and nodded.
“yeah…how’d you get off the isle?” Harry shrugged, looking down at (y/n)s hands and wanting to hold them.
“Malsy and the others wanted ta get the crystal or whatever n’ Gil and I took the chance to escape” (y/n) giggled, smiling at him.
“well, I’m glad you took the chance” Harry smiled back, eyes glancing back and forth between (y/n)s eyes and their lips.
“Harry, (y/n), come on, we’re heading back to Evie’s place” Gil forced them out of their little world, scaring (y/n) a bit as they snapped their head to look at Gil “sorry, but we’re leaving now” Harry sighed, closing his eyes a bit and nodded.
“Alright, we’re coming”
-
Uma blinked in surprise as she stared at Harry and (y/n)s intertwined hands “alright I missed something and I would like to be told what I missed” Harry looked around, sighing in relief as Gil entered the back room they were occupying.
“um, so yeh remember when we were fightin’ the others over Ben ‘n the wand?” Uma slowly nodded, her eyes glancing from their hands to (y/n) “um, well, um….yer hair is turquoise” Uma stared at him as if he was insane before it hit her.
“no.fucking.way~!” Uma squealed, a bright grin blooming on her face. Her hands flashed up to cup her cheeks “aww how cute!...why am I talking like this? Why can't I stop?” Uma continued to talk in a high pitched voice, looking from Gil to Harry slightly confused.
Harry snorted a bit and covered his mouth, looking away as Gil just started to laugh “you sound like you ate a lot of that balloon stuff” he chuckled.
“inhaled, you can’t eat helium Gil” (y/n) supplied, giving a soft smile to the sea three “I’m glad you approve Uma”
“Why wouldn’t I? you’re his soulmate. If I didn’t approve, I’d look like an asshole” Uma laughed “even if you are an Auradon kid, I can tell you’re one of the cool ones” Uma gestured to (y/n)s skull-themed clothing items, such as the gold coin necklace with a skull in the middle.
“oh” (y/n) snorted “that, yeah, I’m technically an Auradon kid I guess, but I’m different for one reason” Uma, Gil, and Harry looked at (y/n) with raised brows “I’m the descendant of the two most legendary pirates in the world~” Harry's eyes sparkled in excitement, tightening his grip on (y/n)s hand and bringing up, forcing (y/n)s attention to him.
“Who are they?” (y/n) giggled at his enthusiasm.
“Elizabeth Swann and Will Turner.”
Harry's jaw dropped, and he just stared at (y/n) for a minute “wh-why is he staring at me like that?” (y/n) chuckled, slightly unnerved with the look in Harry's eyes.
“he’s just happy that you have such bomb ass parents” Uma laughed, patting Harry’s back and walking out of the room with Gil “yall get to know each other better, we’ll be with the others”
(y/n) nodded, looking back at Harry and reaching up to cup his face. He shook at the touch and blinked, a smile replacing his awed look “yeh are so damn cool”
(y/n)s cheeks turned dark at the compliment “so um-“ they quickly thought of a way to turn the attention off of them “do you have any siblings?”
“aye, two sisters, Harriet and CJ, Harriet’s the oldest and CJs the baby” (y/n) smiled and took Harry's hand again, leading him to the window seat in the room and making him sit.
They sat down next to him and continued “I have an older brother, his name is Henry, and a soon-to-be sister-in-law, Carina. Um, what's your favorite food?”
“oooh battered fish fries, Uma makes really good ones”
“I’ll have to try them sometime.”
-
(y/n) watched with sad eyes as the limo with her soulmate drove back to the isle, twisting the ruby ring Harry had given them before he left.
It was slowly losing its color the farther the limo got.
“I’m sorry (y/n)” Ben muttered, trying to comfort them as they both watched the limo drive off “If I knew…I would have invited him to Auradon a long time ago”
“there's no point in saying that now” (y/n) muttered, shrugging off Ben's arm and walking back inside the dorms, ignoring the tears that were trailing down their face.
-
(y/n)s heart pounded as their shoes slammed against the bridge ground, just across from them as Harry, who was running straight towards them.
“Harry!” (y/n) screamed, feeling tears once more burn at their eyes and stream down their face. Harry screamed their name back, opening his arms as they finally reached each other and held onto (y/n) tightly, picking them off their feet and spinning them around.
“I’m here love, I’m here”
(y/n) pulled back for a moment, staring into Harry's ocean blue eyes, before they grabbed the lapels of Harry's jacket and pulling him in for a kiss.
Harry hummed and tilted his head, his hands drifting from (y/n)s hips up to their face, gently brushing his thumb against their cheek.
“I think our (y/n) is in good hands” Elizabeth hummed, watching from the Auradon side as her child was finally reunited with their soulmate.
“I think so too” Will muttered back, grabbing onto Elizabeth's hand and pressing a kiss to the back of her knuckles.
Harry pulled back from (y/n) and looked down, grinning at the black and red outfit they were wearing “I like yer look”
“Thanks, I got inspiration from my soulmate” (y/n) laughed, pressing a kiss to Harry's cheek and pulling him to Auradon.

Til I Tasted You: Chapter 2
Bonnie talks Caroline into trying out a "To Find A Mate" spell. The traveling through time part was completely unexpected, as was who the spell reveals. Chapter One on AO3
Uh hi so, this is like three years later! I got inspiration and like was well, I might as well do that sequel everyone asked for!
Thank you @cupcakemolotov and @certifiedceraunophile for your advice and encouragement!
Tags: Time Travel, Mates, Woodsy Makeouts, Magical Accidents, Human Klaus Mikaelson, Vampire Caroline Forbes, things do not go as planned, Werewolf Mates, this isn't a slow burn this is two idiots , tanding around on fire, very tense conversations on porches, You ever just YEARN?, it's yearning hours, Hybrid Klaus Mikaelson, Yeah the 'does he find out?' chapter is here
Caroline parked her car in front of the house and breathed for a minute in the dark, forehead pressed to the steering wheel. She'd had to haltingly explain to Bonnie while wrapped in her comforter what happened.
Embarrassed, horrified, and intrigued in equal measure, Bonnie had seemed to understand what she meant when she tried to explain the way touching him had felt. “It’s the mate bond. It how they… know,” she said awkwardly, gesturing to one of the books still on the floor.
A horrible thought occurred to Caroline. “So you knew. You knew that Tyler wasn’t, because we didn’t...” she trailed off, but Bonnie seemed to understand.
“I knew,” her friend nodded guiltily. “I thought maybe someone new might help, after he...” She bit her lip, obviously thinking how badly that had backfired.
"Damon's going to want to use this," her friend had whispered. And not for the first time, Caroline wondered how much of herself she had to give up for Elena’s happiness. Klaus wasn’t good, he wasn’t kind, but according to very adamant magic, he was hers. And he’d tried to kill her twice.
She could deal with this tomorrow, she thought, finally climbing out of the car. First period history tests didn’t care that your world had been upended, they only cared about essay questions about the political tensions of France in 1789. As she set her foot on the top porch step, Klaus’ voice came out of the dark. “Having a pleasant evening, Caroline?” Her head snapped up.
Klaus leaned casually in the shadow of one of the porch posts, like showing up unannounced at 9pm when she was in a crisis didn't make him a big creepy weirdo. His eyes perused her appearance before refocusing on her face. Something a little like hope, like satisfaction, dawned on his face. "Leave something in the woods?"
Caroline inhaled sharply. Under Bonnie's borrowed shirt she could still feel echoes of his hands gripping her close, could still taste him when she licked her lips, and it felt like the most searing of damnations to still somehow want him. She scoffed anyway. "Did everyone go hiking today? I must have missed the invite."
The corner of his mouth twitched. "That is not the yellow shirt you were wearing this morning. Rebekah was quite... detailed."
She looked away, flush crawling up her cheeks in mortification. "I guess it was too much to hope you had forgotten?" Perversely, desperately, she had wanted him to have remembered.
Klaus didn't seem to breathe and then with a quick step he erased the concept of personal space. "If you think I have forgotten a single moment of what it felt like to touch you in all the time I have had to contemplate what you mean to me, you have not been paying attention." He lifted his hand and with careful fingers touched one of her curls as one touches something precious and burning.
She swatted his hand away. "I think I've been paying attention every time you tried to kill me, Klaus!"
"Do tell," he said neutrally, rubbing his fingertips against his thumb before dropping his hand.
Crossing her arms, she glared at him. This close to him the urge to reach for him was prickling under her palms again and that way lay madness. “You kidnapped me and tried to use me in your murdery hybrid ritual,” she said.
His fingers twitched again, and he shoved them in his pockets. “Yes, I can see how having you and my hybrid safely tucked away from the Salvatore’s incompetence for an afternoon was actually mistaken for an attempt on your life,” he said mildly.
“They snapped my neck and manacled me to a wall, and I was supposed to think ‘Ah, Klaus is trying to save my life, of course, that’s completely obvious!’”
Klaus lifted his shoulders in a shrug. “It seemed expedient at the time.”
Caroline rolled her eyes. “Okay, then please explain making Tyler bite me over a pissing contest you had with Stefan.”
For the first time, Klaus looked away, lips pressed firmly together. “There was never a moment where I would have let you die.”
“Hey no, you don’t get to pull that ‘You were never in any danger’ crap,” she snapped. “I was terrified and I was dying, and you...” You made me want to start living again, was what she couldn’t say.
“He called you his girlfriend,” Klaus’s golden rimmed gaze practically collided with hers with a fury she could feel like radiant heat on her skin. “His girlfriend, like such an infantilizing word could describe what you could be to someone, like you were his. I gave him the chance to prove me wrong, to show me he could defy me for your sake. He failed.”
It took a moment for Caroline to speak again. “You had him bite me because you were jealous?” she asked, incredulously.
Klaus shifted his weight, and then clenched his jaw, gold fading from his eyes. “As if I could be jealous of a boy who has no concept of what it is like to touch the sun and then spend a millennium looking for daylight in every strangers’ face.” His arms bunched as he held himself still, and Caroline remembered what they felt like under her hands, warmth and crystal clear belonging humming at her fingertips.
She closed her eyes and tried to breathe through the swooping feeling in her stomach. “You can’t just… you can’t just say things like that when I’m furious with you,” she said looking back at him, frustrated, mad, and horribly, undeniably charmed.
Giving her ample time to move, Klaus leaned in slowly until his breath feathered against her face. “When you left me in that forest,” He said lowly, “It was with a name, a bit of fabric, and a yearning I had no reference for. I went home and I died that night, and days later when the wolf came clawing out of me, I awoke tied to a post with the bone deep knowledge of what I had gained and what I had lost.” He licked his lips and she could hardly breathe.
“For a thousand years you stayed lost, and I kept your shirt until time unwound it and the faintest scraps remained. So do not presume to tell me that Tyler has something for me to be jealous of when he fled at the first hint of shame.” Very carefully he took a step back, hands sliding from his pockets to clasp behind his back, as if those few precious inches would make the difference.
Caroline dug her nails into her arms and held onto her anger with both fists. “Klaus, you’ve done… so many terrible things since you came into our lives and you, you did them knowing who I was. You killed Elena, you killed Jenna, you tortured Stefan, you turned Tyler into a minion, and… me. You hurt me.” Mulishly, she set her jaw against the gnawing pit behind her breast bone. “Just because I did some dumb spell that says we’re-” She cut herself off, unable to erase or fit the enormity of time travel into the universe’s neon sign sized hint that they were mates.
More evenly she said, "You chose to do those things and you didn't choose me."
Something cracked open behind his eyes, a yearning of a thousand years laid bare. Voice low and rough, he said, "And if I did? If I did choose you? Would my mate also choose me?" He watched her so carefully, this monster that even death didn't want, and she remembered the way he had barely touched her, not so long ago in her bed.
Carefully, Caroline stepped close, unclenching fingers, unwinding her arms. Klaus went hunter still, waiting while she brought a hand up to his face and deliberately cupped his cheek. The pleasurable rush this time was instantaneous, honey-gold and thick through her veins, leaping skin to skin with a roar of here here here is what I was looking for. With a shudder, Klaus closed his eyes and leaned into her palm, breathed in the scent of her pulse, lips pressed to the base of her thumb. It was relief, it was torture, it was like putting out a hearthfire by burning down the house.
This was a mistake, a miscalculation. The ache of arousal twisted through her, opening a chasm of need in her that didn’t answer to principles or objections, that knew his silver tongue could make better promises on her clit until she begged for his cock. A core deep knowledge that he would deny her nothing she wanted in this and more than she could know to ask for.
Drawing in an unsteady breath (don’t moan don’t moan) she pulled her hand back, the pads of her fingers scraping against the scruff of his face. He didn’t quite follow her hand, letting her go. The wolf in his eyes, he watched her clutch her hands to her chest and it looked like triumph.
“Will it always be like that?” Caroline asked shakily.
Klaus made a considering noise in his throat. “It is said there is some element of intent to it, after a certain point,” he said, the smugness back in his voice. “If it’s what you want.”
She narrowed her eyes, ignoring that rude inner voice that whispered how much she did want. “I guess we’ll see.”
He smiled at her, charm tucked in his dimples as he rocked back on his heels. “I look forward to seeing how I can make things up to you, Caroline.”
And then with a whisper of wind she was alone on her porch, her blood still singing in memory of his heat on her skin.

Characters: Bonnie Gold x Shelby!Reader
Meanings: (Y/N)=Your name
Warnings: Swearing, lots of fluff
(A/N: It's long, I got carried away)
*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*~*
The wind whipped through my hair and hit my face as I rode my horse, her long legs galloping across the open field. This was my one piece of freedom, the time where it didn’t matter who I was or where I was going. It was just me and my horse, both experiencing the thrill of an adrenaline rush. Slowing down, I let her walk so she wasn’t exhausted, patting her neck graciously.
“Good girl,” I said,“you always know how to make me feel better.”
She reared her head back, shaking it and causing her hair to mess up. I quietly giggled as I brushed it out, continuing to ride her. We had gone a little further than usual today, and if any of my family found out how far away I was, they would not be happy. But I didn’t care. It was my day off, and I needed to be away from the hustle and bustle of Small Heath; as well as experience the tiniest amount of fresh air before heading back to the polluted city. After a few more minutes, I stopped my horse, dismounting her and grabbing her reigns. Her nose nudged me as I rummaged in my bag, knowing that her treats were in there.
“Don’t say I don’t look after you.” I mumbled to her as I produced a couple of sugar cubes.
The tender moment was interrupted when I heard hooves hitting against the ground, fast at first until I saw a man also riding a horse, slowing down as he approached me. My hand reached into my bag again, fingers resting on my gun. I had loaded it this morning, I knew I could whip it out at a moments notice.
“If I didn’t know any better, I would say that’s a very spoilt horse.” he said as he stopped in front of me.
“A girls got to look after her horse, hasn’t she?” I warily said.
“I don’t mean to scare you, but it’s not safe out here.”
“So why are you here?”
He chuckled, glancing away from me for a moment.“I must say, I’ve never seen such a beauty around these parts.”
I smirked.“You talking to me or the horse?”
He smiled again, and I found myself enjoying the view.“I’m Bonnie.”
“(Y/N).”
“It’s a pleasure to meet you (Y/N).”
“Do you own the land?”
“No, but I live on it.”
It clicked in my mind that he was a gypsy, not that I looked down on him now. My family had told me time and time again that we were descended from gypsies, and that we should never forget our roots.
“You’re right, I’ve never been here before.” I said as I mounted my horse.
“Well, would you like a tour?”
“A tour of a few fields and some trees?”
“That’s what all the city girls say.”
“Oh, so you’ve had a few ‘city girls’ turn up around here?”
Bonnie seemed flustered for a moment, but as I broke out laughing so did he, relief washing over his face. Commanding my horse forward, I was now next to him, having a chance to study his handsome features up close.
“Well, what are we waiting for?”
As expected, Bonnie knew his way around these great outdoors like the back of his hand. He would tell me the names of all the flowers and what they meant, explaining who created the pathways throughout the woods and how his ancestors used every plant and animal to survive. He was so passionate when speaking, and although there was definitely flirting throughout (from both of us), it wasn’t arrogant or cocky. I wasn’t just going to fall for this boy who I met in a field, but he was much more interesting than any lad who had come up to me on a night out. When we returned to the open field, I challenged him to a race, our laughs echoing out, before I triumphantly beat him.
“Please do not say you let me win, because boys have said that to me before.” I breathed out as he caught up to me.
“Oh, so you’ve been hanging around with country boys?”
I rolled my eyes at him, looking over my shoulder to see that the sun was getting low in the sky.“I’ve had a lovely time, but I have to get back home Bonnie.”
“Let me ride with you to the road.”
“Don’t you also need to get back to your family?”
“We’re gypsies, we’re free to roam where we want, when we want.”
As he said, we rode together to the back road, where hardly anyone drove, but it led back to Small Heath. I wasn’t sure if I would see Bonnie again, but unlike other boys that swaggered around or acted as if they were better than anyone else, essentially putting me off them, Bonnie held this charm, there was something about him that intrigued me. And the mystery of ever seeing each other again made me excited.
“This is where we part ways.” I stated.
“Will you be back? Maybe we could ride together sometime.”
I pretended to think about it, already trotting away from him.“It is a nice area. Perhaps you will see me around these parts.”
He scoffed a laugh.“You won’t even tell me when?”
I called out over my shoulder.“I guess you’ll just have to keep an eye out for me!”
No one had questioned where I had been that day, they knew I had been riding, and there seemed to be a lot of tension as I stepped into the room. Obviously something had happened (which they wouldn’t tell me, not yet anyway), but after my afternoon with Bonnie, I really didn’t care. My family was too caught up in whatever problem Tommy had got us into to ask why I was constantly smiling and day dreaming.
The next day I had been stuck in the shop, repeatedly huffing and making snarky comments at the incompetent men I was stuck working with. However, I knew I was just annoyed that I was working on such a beautiful day. It would have been perfect to go riding, a perfect day to see a certain gypsy boy. When Bonnie and I had gone our separate ways, I hadn’t thought too much about him until I went to bed. He had been on my mind, that bright, wide smile, intriguing eyes and the sound of his voice...that’s when I knew I was already in too deep. When I woke still thinking about him, I wanted to scold myself for being infatuated with a boy I just met, but I couldn’t, and the urge to find out more about him took over.
Watching as my brothers walked out of the shop, not telling me where they were going as usual, I took it as an opportunity to sneak away without any of them asking where I was going on my break. I wouldn’t have time to go all the way out to the field again, but being outside was better than being knocked into again and again by the amount of people in the shop.
“Where do you think you’re going?” Polly said, catching me before I could step out of the door.
I refrained from sighing.“Just taking my break.”
“It’s the busiest time of day, and you’re going to leave now?”
“Just ten minutes, please Pol? I can’t stand all the noise a moment longer.”
She was the one who sighed.“Fine. But do not be late coming back!”
As soon as she finished her sentence, I was out of there. My pace was quick, not headed to anywhere in particular, just somewhere less crowded. Slowing down, I pondered buying something to eat, buy a treat, I deserved it having to deal with those men. However, I was distracted when someone laid their hand on my shoulder, and being by myself, I went into defence mode; grabbing their arm, I twisted it as I spun around, instantly gasping when I saw who it was.
“Bonnie?!” I let go of him as he winced.“I am so sorry, I just panicked.”
“It’s fine.” he groaned, cradling his hand.“I shouldn’t have been so sneaky.”
“What are you doing here?”
“My dad is dealing with some business. But I spotted you across the street and had to see you.”
“So you’re in my part of the woods now.”
“It seems so.”
“I would offer you a tour, but I’m on break from work.”
“That’s alright. It seems I might be spending a lot more time here.”
“How come?”
“Long story short, I’ve always wanted to be a boxer. Never had much luck seeing as I live on the road, but dad seems to have sealed a deal, and I’m starting my training soon.”
“Bonnie, that’s amazing!”
“Yeah...” his cheeks started to flush pink.“I haven’t secured a match yet but...but I would love it if you could come to my first one.”
I smiled, nodding slightly.“I would be honoured to watch you win.”
“In the mean time, perhaps you could show me around, go for some drinks-”
“Bonnie!” someone shouted, an older man waiting for him. It must have been his father.
“I’ve got to go, but I’ll definitely be seeing you soon.”
Only when he began walking away did I feel how fast my heartbeat was. I was so giddy, an urge to giggle almost every other minute. It was embarrassing.
A few days passed by, and it was agonisingly slow. I had kept an eye out for Bonnie, taking a different route to walk past where some lads were trained to fight, but I saw nothing. I even went out riding to the field again, though he wasn't there either. The horrible, twisting feeling in my stomach made me upset, made me angry, I almost felt humiliated that I got my hopes up over a boy I hardly knew. That all changed when I saw him again in the streets.
"Bonnie!" I smiled as I ran towards him.
He was grinning too, meeting me halfway."(Y/N), I've been looking for you everywhere!"
There was an awkward moment where neither of knew if we should hug, shake hands or just leave it. Bonnie hesitantly pulled me in, but as soon as his arms wrapped around me, it felt right.
"I was actually looking for you too." I admitted as we parted.
"We were probably going around in circles chasing one another."
"Yeah, we must have looked like lunatics."
"I'm sorry I didn't catch you. But, guess what?"
His excited expression made me giggle."What?"
"I have my first boxing match."
"That's great Bonnie! I expect an invite, a car better come pick me up, a glass of champagne at the door-"
"Woah, unfortunately I don't think I can arrange any of that, but I can get you front row seats."
"So now I'll get to watch you win up close."
"No pressure there then."
"I'm not worried. I'll even place a bet on you if they're doing them."
"Good to know I have someone have so much confidence in me. Don't worry, I'll give you a good show."
The night of the match finally arrived. I had used the rest of the week to plan my outfit (a great excuse to go shopping, with Ada giving me opinions on everything), decide what to do with my hair and makeup, as well as what the fuck I was going to say to Bonnie after the fight. Would he be too beaten up to go drinking with? Would he even be able to string a sentence together? It occurred to me that I hadn't even seen him fight, maybe I was about to see a whole different side to him.
"(Y/N), cancel what you're doing Saturday night." Tommy commanded as he waltzed into my room without knocking.
I scoffed as I stopped reading, the book falling into my lap."Why?"
"You're going to a boxing match."
"I was going anyway."
"What?"
"Yeah, Bonnie, the smaller lad who's fighting, he invited me."
"How the fuck do you know Bonnie Gold?"
"W-we met when I was out riding."
"And you didn't think to tell me this?"
"Why would I? Whenever I've mentioned any boy before, you lot threaten and scare them away. Also, he was just a gypsy boy I met."
"I'm in business with his father."
"Well, shit. Small world. But I'm still going, right? I've spent my money on a new dress, I can't let it go to waste-"
"Yes, you're still going. Does he know who you are?"
I shook my head.
Tommy looked up at the ceiling, sighing before he left."Fuck me."
For some reason, my heart sank at the thought of Tommy using Bonnie to his advantage. He wouldn't have arranged this fight over good will or the kindness of his heart, it was covering something up. However, I was still going, I was going for Bonnie.
Following behind the other Shelby women, I tossed my hair back as men gawked at us. We held the power too, and not just because of how gorgeous we all looked that night. We were headed towards our seats, but I was too impatient to wait for Bonnie. Splitting from the group, I glanced around the crowds, spotting where Bonnie could potentially be before the fight. Luckily I was right, waltzing in to see Tommy speaking to Bonnie, as well as his father stood there.
"You're not supposed to be back here (Y/N)." Tommy stated, somehow expecting me to turn around and leave.
"I've come to wish our fighter good luck." I smirked, locking eyes with Bonnie.
His eyes were wide, flickering between my brother and I.
"Fine, I suppose he was the one to invite you."
With that he left, Bonnie's father following, but not before looking me up and down; not in a way that creeper me out, he was sizing me up, seeing if the youngest Shelby was as strong as the others. Once they were gone, I approached Bonnie, who was only in a pair of shorts and a robe.
"You're a Shelby?" he breathed out.
"Yes."
"And you didn't think to mention it?"
"You never asked. And also, does it matter?"
"Yes! Your family are the Peaky Blinders!"
"I just never said anything cause....well if I'm honest, I was too distracted when talking to you to bring it up."
"Distracted by what?"
"Well...You Bonnie."
We shared a smile, and he took another step towards me."Thank you for coming. I was trying to look out for you."
"Wouldn't miss it for the world. Now, you need to concentrate on totally beating the other guy to a pulp."
"You have such a way with words. After I win, I'm taking you out for celebratory drinks."
"Sounds like a plan."
I boldly leaned up on my tiptoes, pecking him lightly on the lips. Opening my eyes, I saw him leaning in again, stopping when he realised I had pulled away.
"Now go out there and win Bonnie. I'll be watching and waiting."

Hei min venn!
I have en forespørsel!
Fnaf 1 and Willam Afton X(can be platonic it's really up to you) reader who has a dog!
Like the reader is really overprotective of their puppy and will put the dogs life before their own?(I myself have a dog and will kill for him) and they even see the dog as their child (again I also do this.)
From 🌧️ anon and I hope you have a great day\night
Wasn't really sure how I would do this? But I tried my best, and I hope you like it! Also, very sorry that they take so much time :(
Also, I do try to write the characters how I interpret them, even if that means it gets violent and kinda yandere-ish.
Fun fact about me: I am allergic to animals!
Also, as a norwegian, I was so confused to read that greeting since it was a mix between norwegian and English and I went ???
S/O who has a dog[FNAF]
[Gender Netrual][Headcanons]
William has bad memories regarding children. He doesn't care much about the five he murderered, but he feels bad about Elizabeth and Chris.
He won't be to apposed to it though. He respects you.
But if you think you are dying before the stupid mutt on his watch? No.
This man is in no way sane. He does not care about some stupid dog, he cares about you.
And he will gladly torture the poor dog infront of you if it means you get the message.
The mutt dies before you.
Yes, he calls the dog 'mutt' or 'dog' and he will not call them by anything else.
He does tend to use 'dog' more around you though, since he doesn't want to hurt your feelings too badly.
Also, he won't harm the dog unless he feels there is a need for it, don't worry.
He does protect the dog since he knows how much it means to you.
The dog probably hates him-
It's okay he hates the dog too-
Freddy Fazbear, the one and only number one cat stan.
He hates dogs. With a passion.
And he won't refrain from telling you this.
He'll be okay with you talking about it, though.
Just don't bring it to the pizzaria. He won't take kindly to it.
Besides, there is a no pet rule.
You call it your baby? Why?
He finds it kind of weird, won't lie.
But he loves you, so he'll be okay with the dog as long as you keep it away from him and his establishment-
Bonnie us low-key terrified of dogs?
Like, he'll scream if one comes to close to him.
Not so low-key now that I think about it.
His fear goes back to when he was human. They are terrifying in his opinion.
He doesn't like cats either-
He'll ask you to not bring the dog during your shifts. He's scared of it, and would keep away from you if you did ever bring it.
He'll be pretty respectful about it though.
So please respect his fear? ^^
Hell, after some time he might decide to try and get over his fear.
All.becayse he loves you <3
Bonnie is such a cutie🥺
Chica.
Chica the Chicken.
Chica the Chicken.
You would think that she is terrified of dogs?
WRONG!
She finds them super nice and friendly.
She herself had a dog when she was a small child, and she will totally understand how you feel.
The dog won't be your dog anymore, no, they'll be your dog.
The two of you have a baby and its the dog.
The dog probably loves Chica too.
She also sneaks him treats- she's just that type of person. animatronic?
One time the dog feel asleep on her and she wouldn't move even when Freddy called for her.
The bravery the chicken has when it comes to the dog is uncomperable.
Over all, best dog owner.
Will totally understand.
Best one to have a dog with-
He likes dogs, but dogs hate him for some reason.
It makes him super sad :(
He always wanted a dog as a child, but his parents refused every time he asked. No matter how much he bothered them about.
He'll do his best to get your dog to like him, especially after he sees how much you adore your dog.
But
The dog just seems to hate him with a passion?
It's like its their favorite hobby?
Low-key very sad about the whole thing.
But with enough time the dkg actually starts to like him.
The boy will be so super happy.
The first time the dog let's him cuddle them, he'll emediantly run and tell you about it after he's done with the cuddles.

Don't ever let your dog near him.
He hates dogs. With a passion.
He'll look you straight in the eyes and go
"Bring the dog anywhere near me and I'll snap it's fucking neck."
His brother's friend had a dog, ad the dog made the boy traumatized agains't dogs.
Hahahah
He deserved better😔
Blame Micheal, he'll say.
He won't tell you why he hates your dog before a good part into your relationship though.
He does hope you can understand though-
