Someone: You should lay off Bakugou.
Me: I have redemptions for him planned.
Them: C’mon he’s a kid you don’t need to be so mean to him.
Me: He’s a legit anime character? He’s not real? I’m not being mean to him? You don’t need to read my stuff?
Them: But it’s so good and it would be so much better-
Me: And blocked!

i don't care how this game tries to convince me otherwise, it's ON SIGHT with this little man ⚔️
this wip has made its way through 3 different computers since 2020 so i've can finally say i finished it!! Solas is gonna be a very interesting antagonist but i always found him too pretentious to really like him in DAI lol, but this line, man......

dick and jason have so many cool parallels especially if jason is a villain it actually makes their relationship more interesting and meaningful. the concept of brothers in blood is so great!!! please tell what you wish was different about this story!!!
hi anon!! thank you for sending me the ask like i begged in that post shfdjshkf
compulsory disclaimer: i like working within the confines of the text, when they aren’t rooted in misconceptions of the characters in the first place. i think pre-flashpoint pre-morrison jason deserves the same treatment and so does dick's view of jason considering all the other extenuating circumstances
ANYWAYS, my main issue with brothers in blood is that jason doesn't seem to have a plan like at ALL. he just shows up and starts killing people...? i i believe that dick's jason event was not fully capitalized on and that jason's character suffers for it. like he never really comes off as a fully threatening rogue, dangerous and cunning in his own right; his main schtick is "needless" violence and that's really it 😭
unlike with bruce and mia, for bruce jason literally engineered a drug coup, he ran circles around batman and taunted him with hints and clues slowly until the revelation of his return (after which bruce goes on a hunt for evidence himself to see if it's true). jason then maneuvered him into an impossible situation where he had to choose between letting jason kill the joker or killing jason to stop him from doing it, wherein jason not only bared his soul and anger and hurt but also pushed bruce to do the same. and when pushed to make the final decision, bruce is panicking. he's shaking, he can't think straight. and when he hits falsely he's completely distraught and i know that it haunts him.
and i think that's the type of psychological anguish jason should always be inflicting onto his opponents!!!! after mia's encounter with jason, she was like this:
and that's after jason dug up her entire history and taunted her about it. and then he blew up her high school.
and guess what happened right before OYL, right before brothers in blood... yeah. devin grayson's trauma speedrun arc which culminated in the entire city of bludhaven being leveled by chemo
i honestly think that jason Would go there. and i think it would've made for a more intense fight, coupled with the resentment dick already displays in the comic! and i think it's a damn shame that brothers in blood flopped in execution when there was a lot of potential in its concept and setup :/
that's also why i don't like teen titans #29. jason comes off as just another jealous guy taking out his daddy issues on a teenager with no thought or regard for anything else but violence. his only semblance of a plan is in incapacitating the titans, and after that he doesn't really think anymore? jason's also unable to get a reaction from tim, like i said. jason is screaming out his feelings and going U REALLY THINK U COULD REPLACE ME???? meanwhile tim is just like: "mm yeah im better than you idgaf". it's really unsatisfying. i expected better from jason and in fact i do not think that he would be emotionally unstable enough to be this careless with tim. his biggest turmoil lies with bruce and even with BRUCE he's cunning. so,,, yeah

Reading the Darth Plagueis novel and I have multiple thoughts so far...
He just picked up Palpatine and took him on as his apprentice (without us seeing the part where he names him Darth Sidious??? What was the deal with that????????? How do we NOT see him bestow the Name of a Sith Lord upon Darth Sidious???), so I'm maybe two-fifths of the way through.
But thusfar...eh...he just doesn't feel that "Wise" to me. He's more like "Darth Plageuis the Cunning". It's probably just the old adage of "the characters are only as smart as the writer". There's a number of fine Star Wars RPG scenarios thrown in that Plagueis is navigating expertly, but it's not really screaming "Wisdom" so much as "Intelligence".
Hoping The Acolyte does a better job with him.

FTWDs final season could have been so much better if it was revealed that Troy was running padre and controlling madison (as revenge) this whole time. He knew enough about nick and Alicia to make madison think padre knew who and where they were this whole time. And here are some other reasons how this storyline would make sense and be more interesting:
- Troy has a military background so him taking over and running a military base makes more sense than two teenagers building it up by themselves because all the adults died.
- taking and training up children to be solidiers also would make a little sense because of his own fucked up upbringing and the idea he has of the type of people who were made for this world. He would have probably had the same idea as shrike, that the kids stood a better chance at padre than with their “weak” parents. The mother of his child dying for being a good person and not getting to raise their daughter (who would not be named after his abuser) could have also played into this idea of the kids being separated from their good parents.
- shrikes radiation cure experiments: Troy ran walker bite experiments before, just to see how people would turn. So it would also make sense if the work we see shrike doing was something he approved of or an idea he himself came up with. As for shrike, it would make sense that she turned out this way if she’d spent years being mentored by someone like troy otto instead of becoming evil and stealing children just because her dad died.
- the scene where madison smashes the glass to expose “padre” would have been such a good and shocking reveal if it was Troy. Imagine Madison finding out that Troy is not only alive but had been the one running this the whole time!
There’s also a lot of other things I would have done differently for the other characters too and I would have liked Madison to have a little villain era and do some really fucked up shit as she tries to take down Troy and padre. How dark would Madison go? Would she survive with her humanity still intact?
I know I’m just talking into the void here because no one care about this shitshow but I just hate it when shows have a plot that could have been good, maybe even great but then completely miss the mark and fans come with better theories and ideas with minimal effort and thought.

I have an awful idea of Karlach and Durge actually knowing each other in the past, quite well, actually.
(The reason Karlach did not recognize Durge is because Durge always used that shape-shifting mask of theirs and looked like someone else).
Durge and Gortash met for the first time 11 or so years prior the game.
Durge was already a cult leader, Gortash was not yet Bane's Chosen or even banite, but was starting to work on the cults angle.
Durge hang around just enough for them and Karlach to hit off; it was actually Karlach who is the first person Durge felt genuine connection with.
Father Bhaal disapproved and Urge started to act up; Durge blacked out several times killing innocent tieflings, acted a lil weirder than usual.
Gortash, being Gortash, noticed.
He had a list of candidates from whom he was planning to choose the right person for Zariel's engine.
But he discarded them and sold Karlach instead; he explained it to himself as there's no better candidate for the role. She would survive the engine being installed and, if she was tough enough, would survive Avernus and emerge victorious.
It had nothing to do with his unstable ally acting more unstable than before.
Durge, who at that point had caught up what Father demanded Karlach dead and, for the first time ever, were hesitating to kill someone, visited Gortash and found out Karlach was gone.
"Good," is all they said. They did not elaborate.

Playing trespasser for the first time with an inquisitor who is *not* going to try to redeem solas and I'm just like....but what if I chicken out and just say she didn't redeem him in the Keep instead of actually clicking the dialogue option 🤔

Biggest wish list thing for DA4 is for the Inquisitor to get to punch Solas 👉👈 (and also to still have a good relationship that they can rebuild together please and thank you)

the real tragic part about the whole science fair incident is that perpetual motion is impossible to achieve
ford’s machine would have never worked, regardless of whether or not stan had interacted with it
(warning i accidentally wrote an approximately 30-tag dive into ford’s character in the tags don’t click see more if you don’t want to read that)
anyway!! good night everyone ❤️🩹

Dark! Johnny who gets sought out by Kreese after the tournament a lot quicker, and begins drawing in people—new students—for Kreese and Silver using his pretty face and the charm he often forgets to use.
When he meets Daniel, he’s put together and sweet. He just feels so bad, and oh please don’t be mad at him anymore, Daniel.
Of course Daniel falls for that, and those big "sad" eyes. And just maybe Johnny starts to regret later (already regretted, meant the apology and wasn’t acting) and believe he himself has a chance of escaping when they become closer.

ngl when it comes to villainizing or woobifying a character in your writing i think intent matters more than anything. like you can tell someone hates or loves the shit out of a character when they get them so ooc they act too...off, and that can be both in a way where they're unnecessarily cruel or evil for no apparent reason, and in a way where they're overly cutesy or soft or just...perfect, also for no apparent reason.
but sometimes people write characters in their fics ooc with the intent goal of that being the case, like in AUs and the like. sometimes you just wanna make your fave go insane, and other times you wanna redeem that fave. idk i just think there's a lot of nuance in some areas of fanon, though there are various cases of mischaracterization that are extremely annoying to me. i think the writer's intent affects whether a character's writing ends up 2 or 3 dimensional a lot.

It felt so weird seeing my name in a fic like that LOL. Again, Xiao is definitely not my top pick but I think he'd be a sweet boyfriend.
Apologies babe if I'm an overbearing girlfriend but if my arms are not around you 24/7 or I'm not covering you in kisses, then you're just not it. Xiao is a babe though. He can stay.
(love how you wrote it <33)
(I swear me replying late to asks is a curse but anyways)
HELP IS IT?? I was honestly surprised that I thought it wouldn't be (I'm... very used to it as you can see LMAOOOO)
Xiao is definitely not my top pick but I think he'd be a sweet boyfriend.
Oh yeah no definitely, he definitely fits the bill. I also think in the fic hes protective so it just works out because imagine this short man acting sweet in private and he squints @ anyone in public while holding hands. I know I tried to make him a yan but the idea of an affectionate s/o (you) and a touch-starved guy (Xiao) as a couple is adorable LMAO
HELP YOU SAYING THAT AND GOING "Xiao is a babe though. He can stay"... I CHEERED FOR THAT. Its not normal I'll admit but lets just say I didnt want to feed into the Diluc curse (and hes great so thank god he stays LMAOOOO)
also AAAA TYYY orz orz, again I am sorry if I replied late to the asks (I've hoarded them since you first saw my blog. I promise I'm sane, I'm just a massive "—!" when someone comes in w/ a nice ask and... hoard it like a dragon BAHAHAHAHA)

i think what gets me most about aoki’s death is that it is the perfect allegory for how rgg treats its antagonists: even if the antagonist is willing to change or implies they’re ready to start over, even if the protagonist is ready to accept them and help them move forward, even if it’s the very last second before the start of their redemption can begin, rgg has to throw in the BIGGEST Fuck You and stop any kind of progress from happening and kill them off before they can either change for the better, or justly face the consequences of their actions and get their comeuppance
ironically it’s like a stab in the back- like even if you want to change for the better, you’re doomed to the path you set out on and there’s nothing you can do to stop that now no matter how earnest you are in wanting to change and no matter who’s there to guide you to a better future (or at least get you to jail)
