The interaction we saw between Buck and Tommy was so critical in highlighting the healthiness and stability of their relationship.
Not only did Tommy recognize that Buck wasn’t okay and that he was trying to deflect with humour, he actively made space for Buck to express his emotions and talk about what was bothering him.
When Buck shared anecdotes about his family and his team, Tommy reciprocated and opened up about his own issues with his father.
Tommy actively acknowledged that he was a worse version of himself under Captain Gerrard (showing that he’s not trying to sanitize or hide his past from Buck).
Tommy is matching Buck pace for pace in this relationship, and that’s so important.
The bar may seem low, but we’ve never seen this level of equality before with Buck’s partners, not truly. Buck is always the one giving parts of himself away, the one deflecting and masking himself with humour and self-deprecation. Tommy doesn’t let that happen.
More importantly, he lets Buck dictate when he’s ready for the conversation to move on. The moment Buck turns the conversation in a flirty direction by asking about Daddy Issues, Tommy immediately notes the change of tone and rises to meet it, giving us an absolute sniper of a line “God I hope so.”
These two are in lockstep with each other. They’re still in the early stages of their relationship and getting to know each other, but the way they’re going about it is so incredibly healthy. They’re going slow, getting to know each other, and building up the anticipation with each date and moment spent together. They’re creating something special here. Something meant to last.

Hi GT,
Forgive me if this is a stupid question, but I absolutely love the recs you've given (you've introduced me to tomione, and I love it!) and I was wondering if it's possible to give you some recs in return? There are some books and fics that definitely have dramione / got vibes, and I was wondering if I could share them with you!
So glad you've enjoyed them! Feel free to rec me anything you want. I've read most of the classic recs in terms of fic and adjacent content (Cruel Prince et al), but I'll try anything that's well-written. My tastes run towards weird and/or audaciously creative stuff, and I can forgive a lot of weaknesses in plot on the grounds of (1) ambition or (2) character work. My turnoffs are instalove, protagonists who can't fail, and most Y/A (I'm not a hater, I swear, I just need characters who can say "fuck" when their leg gets chopped off.)
I'm also a fan of weird and fucked-up dynamics.(Wuthering Heights was my favorite book for a while, and as a teenager I wrote an AU in which the book ends on a long sex scene where Heathcliff fucks Cathy's ghost and then immediately gets murdered by Catherine 2.) Obviously, I am very normal.

You have no idea how much I enjoyed today's episode! I SAID TAKABA WOULD SAVE THE DAY!!!!
Jokes aside, reading the chapter I noticed something that could be material for a new headcanon!
There's a panel where Takaba says that he was a serious kid and that he started doing comedy because he wanted people to see that he was a nice person-or something. This reminded me of the first time he met Megumi, where he stated that he "knows when a person is good or bad, even though you seem like a bad person". He later adds that Megumi "looks like a bad person" (and considering that he just killed someone, it's understandable), but Takaba still decides to help Megs and later helps Yuji find him.
So here is my headcanon.
Takaba didn't help Megumi just because he had a screw loose, but because he saw in the boy something he was in his past - a good boy who seemed like someone bad.
And that's really cute in my opinion.

I may seem very picky but honestly, despite having themes or dynamics i like or dislike, I'm able to love everything AS LONG as it has fixed dynamics of my preference.
No "switching as default", no "i used to too but now i will bottom for whatever reason", no "I'm bottoming now but I'm topping next time", no rapid character change just because there's stereotypes around what bottoms or tops act like. No. Just character preferring to be the bottom and default being seen and wanted as a bottom. That's it, that's all I want to be happy and all over someone's idea.
BUT IT'S SO RARE

Mahi: I don't believe that you actually dated ikkan! A TV idol for 2 years the one with platinum records and tons of money who's super famous! I'm kind of surprised you're not straight
Neta: you never asked.
Mahi: what! How was-how? As if I knew to ask you that!
Neta: I don't know. You seem to ask me a lot of other questions. 'Neta why don't you have a house?' 'Neta what happened to your ear?' 'Neta why is Cierra so mean?'
Mahi: she is mean!
Neta: she's not mean.......she's just 13. All 13-year-olds are like that. Anyway you just never asked me about my love life so I never said anything.
Mahi: so....... What is he like? Is he as cool as people say he is?
Neta: no...(wheeze) no Not all. He's *sigh* he's soooooo.... ikkan. He's quiet {semi verbal}, attentive and a little awkward. He keeps to keep to himself....... He's- hehehe he's funny tho He has a great ichiya impression hahahah he would piss him off when he did it!
*sigh* when he gets into something he becomes really into it like he gets really passionate about it and hyper fixates on it....... He's also a really intense perfectionist he doesn't like failing. He's somewhat self conscious and a people pleaser. He looks mean like his resting bitch face is- hehe just have to see it to know what I mean, but he looks so intimidating sometimes but he's the most nonconfrontational person I've met.
He's sweet what I mean when I say he's non-confrontational. I mean like he doesn't get into it when people are deliberately assholes to him specifically but if someone said something mean about Nami or Murasaki He will do something about it.
Mahi: wow.... he sounds-
Neta: he was so kind and such a dork. I love him so much. He's the best person I've dated in a long time, he was never much of a talker but he will listen to you for hours. When I was moving to New Atlantis to open the store. I called him just to tell him that I'm leaving I wanted to say goodbye He stayed on the phone throughout the whole road trip to the airport.
Mahi: I would love to have a relation-
Neta: I look at them and I just fall in love over and over again every time. Every time they smiled or laughed at something I said I would feel so..... so I have no words to describe the feeling.
The little things he would do. He would grab my hand and kiss my knuckle, in bed he would nuzzle his face into my neck and watch videos on my phone until he fell asleep. After every tour he would buy everything off the take out menu we pig out and fall asleep on the couch after.
Mahi: neta...
Neta: you know he wears glasses. He hates them but I think he looks handsome.
Mahi: neta
Neta: he also plays other instruments when he plays his bassoon It's like he's pouring his heart out to you
Mahi: Neta!
Neta: he's very punctual. He shows up right on the dot, sometimes early but never late
Mahi: he just keeps going
Neta: He dresses so well. Especially during the award season. *Sigh* his suits are always personally tailored
Mahi: NETA!!
Neta: what!
Mahi:....... . ........ I'm going on my break
Neta: yeah ok. ........*Sigh* I should call him...... did he keep the ring? ......................... Yeah he did
Mahi belongs to @fish-at-fish-fish-resort

ok im talking to a brick fucking wall here but in case anyones actually curious the "are cishet aro men lgbt" poll is very much taken out of context and ive seen a lot of ppl, who have heard secondhand that there are people who dont think aroallo people are inherently lgbt, who did not see the original conversation.
which to be crystal crystal clear was this post, heres the conversation being discussed
notice that this guy never says hes aromantic and he specifically says that hes "not really at a point he can get into something serious" meaning that he 1) is not saying he never wants a romantic relationship he just doesnt want one right now and 2) refers to a romantic relationship as "something serious" bc he like most cishet people sees a relationship as inherently the most serious type of relationship.
additionally the reason people are upset at the guy is that although its only spelled out in the continuation where the girl explicitly says that he's asking for this despite her telling him she wants a romantic relationship if she's going to sleep with someone which is actually her setting a boundary, "exclusive obvi" in the first part most people have seen means that he is not proposing this as a thing that any given person may or may not be okay with, he is assuming without asking that she's willing to be relegated to a status he himself says is "less serious". the fact is that most cishet men are not actually friends with their fwbs and in most cases it's a code for "girl i expect all the duties of a girlfriend from with none of the care im obligated to give a girlfriend". it is the freelance contractor of het relationships.
and like is it not more disrespectful to imply that people who don't want to commit to treating someone theyre fucking as well as they think a romantic partner would expect of them are aromantic??? why would being an emotionally neglectful dickhead make you aromantic??? aromantic people are people who are not romantically attracted to other people, that's it. they are fully capable of respecting peoples' boundaries and treating their friends/sexual partners/qprs/etc as well as someone else would treat a romantic partner. like do yall not think people are wrong when they say aros are just creeps who want to use people for sex and then dip on them? why is the stance here "actually that is true but it's good actually".
the reason the poll was made in the first place was that someone got irritated that people were trying to argue that this specific shitty guy was actually aromantic and the girl was arophobic for setting a healthy boundary between her and a guy who was expecting an unhealthy relationship of her! random misogynists were the people who decided to bring aromantic people into this when they were not originally mentioned in the slightest! if you want to blame anyone, blame them for saying that emotionally abusive equals aromantic!

“He spread his wings, and Turtle realized who Darkstalker had reminded him of: the soldiers in the garden of the wounded. The ones who couldn’t swim anymore, who’d lost a tail or a limb or a wing and didn’t quite know yet how to go on living without them.
That was the expression he’d glimpsed, very briefly, on Darkstalker’s face.”
Guess who Darkstalker’s looking at when this quote happens?
It’s moon, who had just said no to flying with him.
Im having a really hard time parsing what’s supposed going on with their relationship. He won’t stop comparing her to Clearsight. Sometimes it seems like he’s flirting with her? But I’m literally the worst person to ask about something like that—I am incapable of telling when people are flirting or not.
Just. I don’t get parental vibes from him, like, at all. Never mind the fact that they’re the same age mentally, unless I’m mistaken. The way he seems to be fixated on her specifically makes me wonder if Sutherland had originally planned a romance arc and just removed it at some point. Why else constantly compare her to Clearsight? But that’s just conjecture on my part.
(Also moonwatcher ends up with qibli who gets compared to Darkstalker but that’s neither here nor there)
