He's a chermist for hire!!! he lives in victorian(ish) london and makes special-order elixirs for (usually rich) people in addition to running a small shop! hes not MAGICAL, just reaaaaally good at science. He can make a migraine cure, or he can make your bones liquid! Anything! That is, for a price...

A lot of the stuff he does isn't exactly LEGAL, and people don't really like him bc he's weird. But he has a lot of dirt on pretty much everyone becuase they come to him with sketchy requests. that makes him kind of untouchable in high society, even if he's generally disliked

i made him to kind of generically fit in with the sort of universes we might see in books like Frankenstein, Jekyll and Hyde, The Invisible Man, etc. Hes just my silly little science guy i made to daydream about

HTB AU - Dave Lee ft. shitty camera quality lmao

Dave Lee (David Reed) - 1992 design, age 42 years old

General:

Same height as Mark (his nephew/godson) - is 6ft 1 but is a bigger/stockier build than Mark (Mark is 24 years younger than him).

Exact same face build as Mark - same cheekbones, jawline, chin cleft, and even dimples when he smiles, though he has more lines from age and facial hair.

Always wearing his glasses - they are thick lenses and tinted black to reduce light infiltration (he has photophobia and is legally blind from it though he does have some vision, it's just very reduced and blurry and is worse when natural or bright screen light is involved).

The moles about his face and neck add up to 7 total.

Has faint bite marks in his bottom lip from nervous/anxious chewing, but nowhere near as bad as Mark.

Messy mullet style hair, long but not as long as Mark's.

Numerous scar/marks on his arms from scratching/picking in patterns of 7.

Has a seeing-eye support cane for navigating new places/areas he's unsure of.

His hands and wrists are usually stained with smears of pen ink and/or paint.

Bracelet:

Worn on his left wrist, never takes it off if he can help it.

Made by his sister Hannah (Mark's mom) when he was 18 as a going-away gift when he left for uni.

Beads are multi-coloured acrylics.

There are 2 charms - a cross and the letter 'D'. There used to be another charm next to the 'D' with the letter 'R' but Dave removed that.

Outfit:

Red plaid button up, a darker red than the red which is worn by Mark and Thatcher (it's the same shade as Adam's red specifically). It has a lot of ink stains on it.

Usually wearing a band shirt or his 'MandelaTECH' shirt underneath.

Always has pens in his chest pocket.

Simple leather belt.

Baggy/oversized blue denim jeans.

Old white sneakers that are now very much off-white from age and wear.

Sewed Up Heart

[ID: A Trigun comic done in grayscale with red accents. First, an anatomical heart gushes blood, forming a puddle which shifts into Vash's coat. Vash's gloved hands can be seen sewing up a tear at the hem.

Vash raises his hands, which are now bare and covered in blood. He looks sweaty and distressed, and he raises his coat to his face and cries into it. His clenched hands rip the sewed portion apart, and the red thread leads to a heart whose own stitches are tearing apart. The background gets darker and darker, and the red looks brighter and starker against it.

Then the background returns to white, and brown-skinned hands using embroidery scissors snip a red thread. Wolfwood holds up Vash's repaired coat, grinning proudly, and does a happy thumbs-up in Vash's direction. Vash lifts his head, seeming distant.

Wolfwood holds out the coat. As Vash puts out his hand to take it, the cloth is replaced so Wolfwood is dropping a sewed-up heart in Vash's hand. Vash rubs the coat against his face with a teary smile. End ID] ID CREDITS

When I tell you I am thinking about Mark who we know really ingrained Nolan's speech back in s1, only see that Nolan looks like he meant every word. That Mark was replaceable, his mother was just a pet. When I tell you I'm constantly thinking about Mark, who only saw his father cry over a planet he's only known for months, and not the family he's had for years. When I tell you I'm thinking about Mark finally calling Nolan 'dad' again only to be immediately choked and yelled at. When I think about the parallels of s1's fight and this one.
