Kinktober day 27: DP in two Holes
Tumblr media Tumblr media
James looked at them both with total disbelief, opened his mouth as if he was going to say something but closed it again, frowned and tilted his head in confusion, waiting for one of them to say it was all a joke.
"Let me get this straight, Jason, man… You want me to fuck your girl?" You let out a giggle and took a seat next to the blond as Jase smiled sideways witnessing the whole thing, you put a hand on the frontman's thigh and moved closer to him.
"I actually asked if you wanted to join us in bed, James…Jase said he had no problem as long as you agreed" Now his attention is on you, his gaze wandered over your body and then he looked into your eyes, for such an intimidating guy on stage, he was actually quite shy and reserved.
"Come on mate, it's not like you don't want to, I've seen the way you look at her" Jason mutters and smiles knowingly, James tenses and blushes, averting his gaze embarrassed at being caught. You decide to take his cheek to look at you and smile sweetly at him.
"It's okay Het, this is what I want…so, what do you say?"
"I think you two lost your minds…but okay, uhm, I'm in" His words are shaky and you can tell he is nervous, you look to your boyfriend for permission to which he nods, you move closer to James and bring your lips together, tangle your fingers in his hair to deepen the kiss, nibble his mouth and hum happily at the contact. His hands carefully settled on your waist as he tightened his grip. You climbed onto his lap, wrapping your arms around his shoulders, both of you panting into each other's mouths. You opened one eye to see Jason, who seemed to be enjoying the show, you extended your hand towards him, who approached with pleasure, James's kisses went down your neck, you bite your lower lip still looking Jase in the eyes, you saw how he undid his pants and caressed himself through his boxers, you brought your hand closer and touched his growing erection, causing him to moan hoarsely and needily.
James' nimble hands begin to undo your garments, he bites your skin gently as you grind over his bulge.
They move to the bed for more comfort, he lays you on the mattress where you spread out, you have only your pants on, your breasts are exposed for the two pairs of eyes that look at your body hungrily, both men exchange glances, they lean over you and start to run their hands over every part of your body, they remove your pants along with your panties.
"Man, I have no ideas how you got this cute little thing...look how eager she is to have both of us inside her" James speaks with swagger, he spreads your legs and whistles appreciatively as he sees how wet you are, Jason smiles and takes your chin, running a hand through your hair.
"I guess I'm just too lucky..." He kisses you as James positions himself between your legs, kisses your inner thighs as he runs a finger along your slit. You moan against your boyfriend's lips and close your eyes, you bring your hand down to the bassist's cock, pull down his underwear and begin to stroke his length.
You jerk him off on your face, licking only the tip, the blond opens your folds and buries his face in your pussy, you moan loudly as you feel his warm tongue thrust into your hole, his nose presses against your clit which makes you tremble with pleasure. Jason grabs your hair and shoves his girth into your mouth, your lips wrap around him and you suck, he grunts above you and pulls his head back.
"Shit, does she always dripp like that?" James asks with a grin as he pulls away from your center for a moment, his fingers massaging your bud, the question is directed at Jase, who scoffs and nods.
"She does, it's always a mess.... Especially when you play with her butthole" You blush thanks to Jason's confession, you look at James and notice and predatory gleam in his eyes, he smiles and licks his lips.
"Oh, she's that kind of girl, I see...we better give her what she wants, right?" you gasp at his words, he spits a large amount of drool over your pussy, letting it slide down to your hole, his fingers circle the tight muscle, all the while eating you out.
It's been a while since you've tried it from behind, so you're a little nervous but still turned on. The idea of having those two big men fucking you in tandem, well, it was fucking tempting.
"Let me ride you baby, please?" you ask your man as you suck eagerly on his pulsing length, pre cum staining your lips and chin, he moans and nods, he lies down on the bed as you move over and climb onto his lap, you look over your shoulder at James and wiggling your ass you invite him to continue his attentions to your bumhole. You take Jase's cock and sit on it, your walls cling to him, the stretch making you shudder and moan, soon you feel the frontman's rough hands on your back and he gently pushes you to lean forward a little, Jason grips your hips and begins to thrust into you.
James's tongue passes over your butt, the sensation strange but welcome as you bounce on Jase, the whimpers and obscenities echoing off the walls of the room. Wet fingers press against the tight ring of your ass, the slide uncomfortable at first but you manage to compose yourself as soft, comforting kisses land on your cheek.
"You're taking it very well beauty, relax and let me prepare that pretty little ass of yours" his words make you moan as you grind on your boyfriend's lap, who caresses your legs while he buries himself deeply in you.
The blonde fingers you slowly so you can adjust, soon he adds a second finger and spreads you open, your pussy tightens around Jason's swollen cock who moans your name and starts fucking you a little faster, the overstimulation has you screaming and leaking more than usual.
"Fuck, can't wait to fuck that tight hole of yours" That seems to be the signal for the bassist's thrusts to stop, he grabs your waist firmly while the other one smears your entrance with plenty of lubricant, you feel the head of his cock rub against it your tight hole, he slowly pushes until he's completely inside you, you cry out at the burn of the stretch, James grunts holding onto your hip as he rests his forehead against your back.
"How does that feel Het?" Jason murmurs, guiding his thumb to massage your clit and get you to loosen up a little, you're tense and the last thing he wants is for you to get hurt, the stimulation in your sweet spot makes you arch your back.
“It's so fucking tight, never felt anything so narrow… fuck” James' obscene gasps make you shiver a little, he hisses at the pressure applied to his cock pulsing inside you.
Their heavy breaths could be heard over the whimpers that escaped your lips from time to time. When the initial burning disappeared, you began to rock your hips, the friction making you moan just like James, you felt so full, those huge cocks filled you so well, it was delicious how stretched you were, your mind clouded with the pleasurable sensations that ran through your body. Jase began to thrust his hips as well, gaining pace with each thrust of his cock. James began to fuck you harder, cursing each time his length was gripped by your butthole. You were dripping everywhere, your waist moving in circles so they would hit your most sensitive spots.
"Look at you, riding us both like an expert... You've been wanting it so bad baby, wanting us to take care of you and fill you like this, haven't you?... It wasn't enough to have my cock, you needed James's too, so fucking greedy " Jason grunts, spanking your thigh as his hips buck, he closes his eyes and you feel his seed spill inside you, you clench your thighs around his waist, you approach and kiss him, moan into his mouth and cling to his shoulders. You look at James behind you, his teeth clenched, his hands braced firmly as he buries himself into your ass, his heavy balls slapping against your pussy, the squelching sound making everything even dirtier.
"I want it inside too James, please, I need it."
You beg him, your eyes hooded and full of need. He rolls his eyes and moans as he cums in you, the post-orgasmic spasms causing him to continue fucking you gently, making you rub against Jason's pubic bone, soon, you're cumming all over them both, your wetness soaking them completely. You fall on your boyfriend's chest and close your eyes to recover, the blonde pull out you and you see how he lies down next to both of you, you put your hand on his chest and smile at him.
"How do you feel, honey?" Jason asks, caressing your back and placing kisses on your head. You look at him too and kiss his jaw.
"Perfect, fucking good"
I thought I wouldn't finish it in time, but here it is

DP/DC Week Day 3 - Eldritch Entities/The worst person to put in charge of teens is another teenager
Part 3 of my Danny gets mistaken as Jason’s clone AU! You can read the past two day’s entries for some more context, but it’ll probably be fine if you don’t. But you do need to know that Danny is going to be referred to as James, since he didn’t want to tell the world’s greatest detectives his real name.
Warning I guess? Brief mention of vivisection and starvation. Mention of throwing up at the very end.
Let’s hope that the YJ cartoon Conner and Bart’s personalities are similar enough to the comic version because that’s the best basis I have for their personalities ;-;
Tim may or may not have made a mistake when he decided to call Conner and Bart to tell them about Jason’s new clone. He definitely should’ve expected them to instantly come over to see said clone.
Bart was bouncing off the walls of the dinning room excitedly, “Jason got cloned-I can’t believe Jason of all people got cloned-do you?”
“I can, even if he doesn’t have any powers he’d probably be good to clone for political reasons right?” Conner speculated, “Right Tim?”
“But then why is the clone a child?” Tim was hunched over his computer, biting his lip, trying to find out more about the GIW.
“James-the clone-said that the GIW had done experiments on ghosts, and that they could tell that Jason is undead. So they might’ve created James to do experiments on him that they couldn’t do on Jason themselves.”
“Or turn him into a weapon,” Conner said with a hint of sadness and anger in his voice.
“It’s probably both,” Bart added. The other two nodded in agreement.
Not even a second passed before Jason came in, holding James by his shirt collar. Jason clearly took Bruce’s advice to get him new clothes. He was wearing a white polo shirt and black bell bottoms. But he still had the same black gloves and boots on as before.
Tim still didn’t look at his face. He didn’t want to see…whatever it was that made him think that James’s was uncanny valley incarnate. That would be rude.
“Tim, I need you to-oh hey!” Jason stopped in his tracks and looked over to the group, “This is perfect, Tim, Conner, Bart too I guess, I need you guy to look after the kid while I’m gone.”
“Wait, where are you going that’s more important than, I dunno, keeping an eye on your own clone?” Tim questioned.
“It’s a long story. But, that’s why I’m leaving him here with you-“
“Hi,” James waved at the group.
“-The best person to put in charge of a teenager is another teenager.”
“I don’t think that’s right exactly,” Bart said, “Buuut, the best person to be in charge of a clone, is another clone right?” He looked over at Conner expectingly.
“That guy’s a clone?” James looked to Jason for an answer as he pointed at Conner.
“Yes I am. Although it already seems that you have a…much better relationship with the guy you’re cloned from than I do,” Conner sighed.
“Can we kick his teeth in then?”
“Jason, what are you teaching the child?” Tim groaned.
“Self care. Anyways-“ Jason let go of James, “-I’m off. See ya.” And then he left, leaving James in the trio’s care.
“So…can I kick the guy’s teeth in? Who was the uh, guy who you were cloned from anyways?”
“It was actually two guys-“ Bart started before Tim interrupted him.
“It doesn’t matter, you’re not kicking anyone’s teeth in before you tell us more about the GIW.”
“Tim, be easy on him,” Conner recommended, “You don’t want to scare him away now do you?”
“Oh it’s fine. I mean, the worst thing they did to me that I can remember is vivisect me, so it’s fine.”
“Is that like dissection-“ Bart started to ask before being interrupted yet again.
“Yeah it’s exactly like dissection but on a living thing. I didn’t get any of those things that make it do you didn’t feel pain either. That sucked almost as much as being starved for like, a week. That was not a good week.”
Silence filled the room as the three processed what James told them.
“Tell us everything single thing you know about the GIW,” Conner demanded.
“Sure!” James said. Then he smiled. Tim made the mistake of looking at him while he did and recoiled all the way off his chair. Luckily, Bart was able to catch him before he hit the ground.
“Why is looking at your face like looking at  a Lovecraftian god?!” Tim cried.
“I have that effect on people,” James explained, “But holy shit, no one’s actually recoiled!” He cackled, a deep, unnerving cackle. Well, it sounded like that to Tim at least.
“Well you don't have that effect on me,” Conner said.
“Or me!” Bart added, “Maybe something’s wrong with Tim-or us!”
“No it’s most likely just me since the others didn’t have a problem with James,” Tim stated, “Perhaps it’s because the others had more contact with the Lazarus Pits-as for the two of you, maybe it’s because of Bart’s connection to the speed force and Conner being half Kryptonian-“
“Way to doxx us my guy,” Bart interrupted, “First you interrupt me when I tried to explain more about Conner, and then you go out and spill our super hero identities.”
“Oh shit, you’re right, I forgot that he could possibly be a sleeper agent. Or spy.”
“I’m not one of those things but okay,” James said, before he got a starry look in his eyes, “Wait, does that mean you’re half alien?” He pointed to Conner, “I’ve never met an alien before! And your a speedster!” He pointed to Bart, “How fast can you go? Can you do anything else than run fast? Can you like, electrocute people by shuffling your feet real fast? Ooo, can you power a city with it?!”
Bart gasped, “He’s a fan of me! :D”
“And he’s asking quite a lot of questions,” Tim mumbled.
“Well, James, do you want anything to eat?” Conner asked.
“Can I have a cookie? Maybe two cookies?” Danny asked.
“Maybe something more nutritious-“
“Can I also have a cookie?” Bart asked.
“Uhh, okay, but James-“
“Since Bart here said he can also have a cookie, that means that someone would have to have a cookie first, which means…”
“…Tim?”
“The cookies are on top of the third cabinet to the right,” Tim said, “Bart knows where the rest of the desserts are.”
“Well isn’t that just sweet?” James smirked.
A few minutes later, when Alfred came to the kitchen, he was only the slightly surprised to see all the desserts gone. A bit more to see what he assumed was Jason’s clone throwing up into a trash can. Oh well, at least he wasn’t throwing up on the floor.

After being reminded of how awful canon film is I wrote my own self indulgent version of Batman Vs. Superman. I want the story to be self contained, so no Doomsday or Darkseid forewarning. Warning: Rambling, me being butthurt while high on sugar, really trying to make this a coherent storyline with genuine development, some Bruce x OC moments shut up you demon!
The beginning is the same as in canon with Lois in Africa???Middle East??? With her partner James Olsen trying to resolve a hostage situation. James gets killed trying to protect a hostage, but before anymore are killed Superman comes in and rescues them. He subdues not kill the terrorists but gets into trouble with the intelligence agency for interrupting their mission. This incident reaches the ears of Helen Hunt's character the no-nonsense Senator. However Superman is more concerned for the deceased James and the unharmed hostages than getting in trouble with the government, he feels guilty being unable to save James in time.
After James Olsen's funeral Clark and Lois are unsure what to do next. They decide the best way to honor his memory is continuing their line of working bringing light to troubling issues as well as a troubling rose of villains. They also find out that the terrorists had weapons given to them by Luthor (to protect interests in that region).
Meanwhile, Lex decides to capitalize on the post destruction of Metropolis by launching a smear campaign. He also starts pursuing charitable events to make himself look good in front of the masses. Because of growing negativity towards Supes, Clark starts feeling a lack of confidence but from reassurance from his mom he redirects his focus hero by doing small stuff around Smallville. Gradually the town starts to see him in a far better light but there's still Metropolis and the larger world. Clark goes there to help rebuild. At his job at DP, he gets the chance to interview visiting millionaire Bruce Wayne in Whatever City (not the actual name but a totally different city from Metropolis and Gotham). At the press meeting Bruce is rather cold & not as Clark expected. He's even working with Lex Luthor as part of a business deal, which makes Clark wary as he knows about Luthor's criminal activity.
Superman goes out in a flight to clear his head. While flying around he sees a kid walking on the railroad tracks hy himself with a pair of headphones....and a train steadily approaching! Supes swoops in and saves the kod from being nuked and chastises him for being so reckless. The teenager apologies and introduces himself as Jimmy Olsen (a nephew of the deceased James). He had been listening to music as a way to cope with his uncle's death. They talk for a while and Superman brings Jimmy back home. Several weeks later Clark ends up mentoring Jimmy as a school project.
Back in Whatever City we're introduced to one of Lex's assistants Nicola. She's a former Holliday Girl who had overheard Lex's plan and vowed to stop him. She managed to get in contact with an old friend: Diana Prince. Nicola brings up Lex's plan and hidden research of metahumans. The Amazon surmises that such a scheme could result in the deaths of hundreds if not thousands of people. Diana decides to bring her agency to stop him & asks Nicola to stay low. Diana gathers her old armor and prays to the Gods for luck.
Lex apparently likes Nicola enough to send her an invite to a charity ball, where she crosses paths with Bruce for the first time. They talk for a while only to be interrupted by Clark.
After a meeting with Luthor to discuss a merger with their companies, and seeing hints of Luthor's true selfishness, Bruce grows suspicious of him and started to dig around. We see through memorabilia that his initial coldness towards Clark and other people wasn't out of spite but of grief: Jason Todd's death some years ago.
Clark continues his good deeds and is slowly regaining his respect. He even makes plan to visit a children's hospital but is forced to cancel when Superman gets called to show up for a Congress hearing. At the meeting Superman admits his guilt but tells about James and how he died a hero. The Senator doesn't know where Superman is going with this but is listening. Then Superman's voice trails of as he hears a beeping noise and shocked he leaves the room in a hurry. He briefly searches the place and finds a bomb strapped in a closet. He carries the bomb out and throws it as high into the sky as possible Back inside the audience and senator are bewildered by his absence then hear a loud booming noise outside. There's shock as a bright light flashes in the sky...
Superman legit rejected their hearing to save them from a bomb. A bomb planted there by Tess on the instructions of Luthor...a plan she was willing to sacrifice her own life for.
This leaves the senator reconsidering her stance: if he really was as bad as people say then he wouldn't have saved them.
After the incident the entire country begins to have a more positive opinion of Superman while the government launches a search for possible terrorists. Bruce hears about what happened and after sneaking around as Batman, finds out about Luthor being the one responsible for the attempted terror attack. Later on he (as civilian) makes an announcement that he is not going to go through with the merger with LexCorp.
Hearing the news that Superman foiled his attempted assassination (and losing out on Wayne Enterprises), Lex gets very pissed off and threatens to fire Tess. She tries to save face by reminding Lex of his contingency plan...making Lex calm down and grin as he begins to remake his plan.
Nicola agrees to a date with Bruce and prepares. Meanwhile Lois and Jimmy are enjoying a night on the town while Clark stays behind to work on a news story. The two friends were about ti make it back to their hotel before being accosted by some men who force them into a car and takes them to Lex Corp.
At the HQ Lois calls him out that his plan could spell doom for the world. Surprisingly Luthor agrees but makes it clear he doesn't care. He orders his men to capture her, but Jimmy manages to escape and goes off to find Clark (who is writing a story to expose Luthor's actions). Jimmy tells him learns from him that Lois is in trouble Superman tells him to stay as he fetches the police. In reality he jas gone to find her as his hero alias. He finds her but just as he's about to rescue her Lex threatens that he also has another certain someone (Martha Kent ) captured if he doesn't comply, seeing that Supes was often seen visiting her. Reluctantly Superman complies and Lois is freed from her bonds, yet Lex takes them as hostages to a room lined with Green Kryptonite. He leaves to his warehouse to check on progress of his prototype. Jimmy wonders where Clark has gone and goes to the police station himself.
On their date Bruce mentions to Nicola that he knows what she's up to. Nicola coldly replies what was he talking about and he mentions Lex's actions and her possible status as an accomplice This starts a spat leading to Nicola spilling that she is working against Lex (making her a foil to the blindly loyal Tess) and that her goal was to stop Lex from unleashing his plan. She already called a friend to help them yet when Bruce presses forward they see a kid (Jimmy) wandering around and concerned asks what's wrong. Jimmy replies that his friend was kidnapped and doesn't know what to do. Bruce leaves to find Clark while Nicola stays with Jimmy.
Nicole & Jimmy arrives back at the hotel and sees Tess Mercer waiting for them. She had been sent by Luthor to eliminate the witness. Nicola tries to talk her coworker out of harming an innocent kid but Tess refuses. They duel but Tess proves to be a surprisingly stronger fighter. Before Tess could come in for the kill a frightened Jimmy knocks her out cold from behind.
At HQ Lois & a weakened Superman attempt an escape. Lois believes its hopeless but Clark reminds her that Lex won't put them down for long. Batman arrives at the HQ and stealthily avoids the guards. He deduces the room Lois and Supes are locked up in and free them. Batman says thay a little birdie told him everything Lois and Clark grinning that it's Jimmy and the two superheroes decide to work together to bring down Lex.
Batman goes to save Martha (the warehouse fight) while Superman goes to confront Lex, dropping Lois off at the hotel where rhe police are waiting (Tess apprehended). Nicola researcher offers to take the reporter home but she declines, not wanting to sit back and watch Lex try to destroy the world. After giving her report to the police she and Nicole meet Steven Trevor (a descendant of Steve Trevor and an agent). Steven says he already sent his men to arrest Lex as they found that he waa behind the bombing. Lois sneaks away to see if she can help Clark.
Clark manages to catch uo to Lex at his lab and tries to reason with him. Lex says that he already unleashed his prototype as a test to see how many lives Superman is able to save. Superman argues that Lex has gone mad trying to play god, which he disagrees: "I'm not playing god I'm only playing favorites is all." Disgusted, Superman leaves and goes off to fight the prototype. As he does an entire line of trucks arrive...led by Nicola's special friend...
Lex realizes he has been found out and tries to destroy the evidence. Lois realize that the monster was made of Kryptonian DNA so she looks around for the spare Kryptonite and manages to grab a considerable long piece. Just as she does the place starts flooding and she runs. However she nearly drown. Fortunately she gets pulled out by a woman wearing armor. Lois doesn't even ask her name as she recognizes the W shaped emblem and blue&red color scheme. Lois gives the heroine the spear and tells her that she says she loves Clark. Wonder Woman nods and heads towards the direction of Superman.
Superman draws the monster out away from the city and is helped by Batman. Wonder Woman arrives with the spear. The final battles commences with Batman providing a distraction to lead the prototype away. Diana and Superman fight the beast but is soon overpowered. Clark takes the makeshift spear and goes off and manages to subdue the creature rather unwilling to kill it. However he gets blown up by a missile sent by the US military and everyone thinks he is dead.
To his he walks out of the smoke, banged up but alive, having narrowly escaped the blast. The monster has died, leaving Clark to wonders sadly if the monster could have been saved as it had no control over its actions. A relieved Lois embraces him as the other two supers look on in bittersweet triumph.
Several days later, the President, on the behest of the Helen Hunt Senator, gives Superman a full pardon. The world also starts to see rising of actual superheroes to take in the increase of villains having been inspired by the actions of the newly dubbed Trinity. The ending shows that long term exposure to Kryptonite left Lex without any hair, cementing his iconic look. He had also beem arrested and tried and ends up locked up at a mental institution on an insanity plea. His other henchmen & Tess are jailed and Luthor's company scrambles to do damage control. Bruce catches up to Clark and apologizes for being cold. They part ways on better terms before musing at the similarities between their alter egos. Diana teases that they make a great team and returns to the capital with her team. Bruce returns to Gotham and stops at the cemetery to place flowers on Jason Todd's grave, showing that he moved to the acceptance stage of grief. Jimmy also ends up getting a job as an intern for Daily Planet with Lois as his mentor this time. And Nicola goes to Gotham to work as a social worker and takes up a case: Cassandra Cain.
The final scene ends with Clark as Superman dressed up in Metropolis visiting a local orphanage/foster home, showing that at his core he truly does care about humanity despite all them haters. 👏👏 👏 happy ending everyone!!!
The movie ends with a montage of
- Cyborg walking around aimlessly in his hometown and finding a discarded newspaper highlighting the heroes' exploits and getting the idea to try becoming a hero himself
- Aquaman in his kingdom catching up with the surface world and becoming curious, and wonders about an alliance
- Barry standing in a hill in his city in costume. He grins and smiles, before pulling over his cowl and racing off
- And Lex, plotting an escape from his cell, suddenly sees a peculiarly tall guard looming over him. He makes a digging comment that the guard shrugs off. To his surprise the guard unlocks the cell and leads Lex out. Lex asks who the guard is; the guard slips off his disguises revealing a sapient Gorilla...Gorilla Grodd!
All This sets up a future plot point that wouldn't be explored until after Justice League where we're introduced to the cinematic LEGION OF DOOM!!! The prototype they fight is not doomsday but foreshadows the creation of Bizarro (who was one of the original members of the LoD).
With the actual Justice League movie we continue with the formation of the team through several subplots converging into one major story arc. The Helen Hunt Senator plays a huge role being their ally and influence on building the Hall of Justice. Plus more Brucola stuff because we need fun stuff in Batman, Tom King.

the ultimate list of comic book recommendations
Hello and welcome everyone! So if you don’t know, my name is Meg, and I happen to be an avid comic book/graphic novel reader and collector (even though I often write in a more fanon universe). So I thought for this post I would compile some of my favorite books for y’all.
I’ll categorize these, but don’t be afraid to try something completely different that what you’ve read before! And for new readers, this list can be a great way to find out where to start. So with that in mind, here’s the list!
DC COMICS
“So I like Batman but I don’t know where to start!”
Batman: Year One by Frank Miller - A classic detective Batman Story; a great starting off point for the character and comic books as a whole.
Batman: The Dark Knight Returns by Frank Miller - Another classic, highly rated comic. Features an older Batman and introduces Carrie as Robin.
Batman: The Long Halloween by Jeph Loeb - My brother’s favorite. Gripping from start to end. More detective Bats.
For fans of darker/more artistic/”different” Batman stories
Batman: White Knight by Sean Murphy - Batman “bad”. Joker “good”.
Batman: The Black Mirror by Scott Snyder - Bats and Joker in an unlikely, drug-induced team up. Some of the best art in Batman.
Batman: Hush by Jeph Loeb and Jim Lee - Big fan of both writers. Very popular book in the fandom, but I’ve never personally read it (recommended by my brother).
For fans of Robins
A Death in the Family by Jim Starlin and Under the Red Hood by Judd Winick - pinnacle Jason stories; also for those looking for Tim Drake’s introduction.
Robin: Reborn by Chuck Dixon - Ignore the awful cover art; this is Tim Drake done right.
Red Robin by Christopher Yost - Hard to find this series in a physical copy so just read it online. Defining Tim Drake in one series *chef’s kiss* beautiful.
Super Sons by Peter Tomasi and Patrick Gleason - The best Damian out there in my opinion, plus the addition of the always adorable Jon Kent
Ensemble
Justice League by Geoff Johns - Say what you want about n52, but this is the best JL out there (don’t fight me on this). Great for beginning readers.
Kingdom Come by Mark Waid - Alex Ross is simply the best comic artist out there. This one is a classic, but probably shouldn’t be your first rodeo with DC.
Brightest Day by Geoff Johns - Again, not for beginning readers; requires A LOT of background knowledge. But amazing characterization despite the hoard of characters it features.
Justice League Dark by James Tynion IV - Ugh I just love Zatanna.
DC Bombshells by Marguerite Bennett - The best damn DC AU ever made
MARVEL COMICS
Must Read!!
Vision by Tom King - Quite literally a modern masterpiece. Just, ugh, if you take anything away from this list, it’s go pick up Tom King’s Vision. Don’t like Vision? Doesn’t matter go pick up Tom King’s Vision-
Street-level heroes just trying their best (my favorite kind of comics)
Hawkeye by Matt Fraction - Hands down my favorite comic series of all time. Perfect characterization of Clint and Kate. Pick these up before the Disney+ series comes out :) Cannot recommend this enough.
Ms. Marvel by G. Willow Wilson - Actual ray of sunshine Kamala Khan will take over your life. Follows her coming to grips with her powers as a POC teen who needs to balance school, home, and hero life.
Let’s hear it for the ladies!
Captain Marvel by Kelly Deconnick - Liked the movie? You’ll love this. So much heart and humor.
Dark Phoenix Saga by Chris Claremont - I got my copy signed by Claremont and almost cried. First comic I bought with my own money; has a special place in my heart.
Jean Grey by Dennis Hopeless - What can I say? I’m a Jean stan forever. A nice pick-me-up after DPS. Features a young Jean in the wrong universe.
Spider-Gwen by Jason Latour - Liked Spiderverse? Boy, do I have the comic for you.
Misc and Third Party
Watchmen by Alan Moore - Simply a masterpiece
Space Riders by Fabian Jr. Rangel - A fever dream from start to finish, in space. Amazing artistry.
Umbrella Academy by Gerard Way - Speaks for itself. The show is too damn good.
WHAT I’M READING NOW!
The New Teen Titans by Maru Wolfman and George Perez
Batman: Last Knight on Earth by Scott Snyder
DCEASED
Teen Titans: Raven by Kami Garcia
Hope these help!! Let me know what you think if you pick any of these up. Feel free to message me for more recs or information on any of these. Also, feel free to reblog with your favorite comics!! Lmk if you want to see more rec lists like these or even comic reviews :) Thanks!

Aquaman
Tumblr media
Aquaman is directed by James Wan and it’s the adaptation of the eponymous DC comics superhero. It follows Arthur Curry (Jason Momoa), the son of Queen Atlanna (Nicole Kidman) and a lighthouse keeper (Temuera Morrison), as he is sought out by Princess Mera (Amber Heard) to stop his half-brother King Orm (Patrick Wilson) from plunging Atlantis and the surface world into war.
For this review, I want to switch things up, so instead of my usual rundown of the worldbuilding, plot and characters I want to talk about the different aspects of the filmmaking, because where this film rises and falls are exactly these elements. So let’s start with what the film does really right which is the
Direction:
James Wan as a director is better knows for his horror work, with films such as Dead Silence, Insidious, the Conjuring, and Saw; to date he has only directed one other action film, Furious 7. I was already impressed with his work there, especially in the fight scenes and big action set pieces, but his directorial skill is on a whole other level here, helped greatly by the excellent visual effects and character and environment design. Atlantis as well as its various inhabitants are a perfect mix of ancient and futuristic, and alien and human, making the time we spend underwater visually stunning.
There are so many incredibly creative and clever shots, especially the transitions between establishing shots and the rest of the scene, as well as fluidity of the action scenes. Likewise, Wan’s horror roots come through here and there, in the way he introduces the villains and explosions with jump scares, and a specific, genuinely creepy set piece on the open ocean in the darkness.
As superhero films tend to, there are several gigantic set piece battles, with lots of CGI creatures and monsters, and Wan manages to keep the action legible, dynamic and intense, without it being confusing. Some parts had issues with the compositing being slightly off which made it apparent we are looking at a green screen, but overall the direction and visual design of the film was its strongest part. I can spend hours just talking about all the tricks and clever camerawork Wan and DP Don Burgess use, but I realize you no one wants to read that; suffice it to say, I think this was visually DC’s boldest and best executed DC film to date, and I was very pleased with Wan’s work.
Story and Screenplay:
Strangely enough, this is where the film both excelled and failed for me. Let me explain.
I really enjoyed Arthur’s arc throughout the film, as well as the overall plot of him and Mera trying to prevent a war between Atlantis and the surface world, The film surprisingly manages to fit a lot of history and major storylines from Aquaman’s comic runs, and it manages to pull this off without making it’s story jumbled or the pacing uneven.
However, how the film actually delivers this story is where the problems start. There is a real issue with the dialogue in this film; character tell the audience exactly what they are thinking and feeling, they will often stop the scene to exposit on their emotions and motivations, which is in addition to the already dense scenes of characters delivering the history of Atlantis to each other (even though rightfully there would be no need for Orm, Vulko or Nereus to explain to each other who these historical/mythical people are or why they act the ways they do since you know, they are all Atlantean). Vulko is the guiltiest party here, because his entire character is just there to deliver exposition.
Case in point, the dynamic between Orm and Arthur. Arthur has spent his entire life hating Atlantis and blaming himself for his mother’s death, and feeling like he doesn’t belong on land or in the sea. On the other hand, Orm has spent his entire life also blaming Arthur for their mother’s death while also living in constant paranoia that should Arthur ever come to Atlantis, as firstborn he would take the throne (also clearly has some issues with who Atlanna loved more,  but that’s neither here nor there). That’s some rich characterization and emotion. You know how the film delivers it? By literary having Orm and Arthur say all of this, in more or less these exact words, to each other instead of showing us any of it.
The dialogue varies between bad and extremely bad, and it’s such a shame because the story and the characters are there. I hate to compare the two, but Black Panther also had a scene where to estranged cousins vying for the throne, one of whom resents the other interact, and it did much better with showing us all the complex emotions these people were going through rather than bluntly telling us exactly what they think.
Characters (and their actors):
The issues with the screenplay and dialogue unfortunately feed into the characters. While some of the actors do fine with the stiff dialogue, some… not so much.
Let’s start with the supporting cast. I loved Nicole Kidman as Queen Atlanna. Her role was small, but she does so much with the limited screen time, and gives Atlanna a full range of emotions and character arc. I also appreciated that the film does a reverse ‘women in refrigerators’ with her.
Yahya Abdul-Mateen II was excellent as Black Manta. His backstory was intense and perfectly understandable, and I really enjoyed that the film makes it pretty clear that the existence of Black Manta is solely Aquaman’s fault. The two don’t get too much time to interact, but Mateen steals every scene he’s in, and I’m interested to see what they do with him next.
As I mentioned Vulko was the designated exposition character. Willem Dafoe dioes fine with the role he’s given, though I have to wonder why he didn’t try harder to dissuade Orm from his conquest, since clearly the two are close. It almost makes me wonder if Vulko blamed Orm for what happened to Atlanna which doesn’t make much sense since he was a teenager at most.
I was genuinely surprised to see Dolph Lundgren in this and though King Nereus didn’t play a hugely important part in this film, just like with Black Mantha he seems like he’d be a more important player in a future film. I’m just always happy to see him be in films honestly.
From our leading trio, Amber Heard was the biggest surprise. She’s pretty good in the role as Mera, and she’s helped by a really solid characterization. Mera was well written, competent and powerful, she was on equal footing with Arthur the whole film. Not once is she treated like a damsel and at no point does Arthur have to save her, or she needs  to teach him how to be a King or fight or anything similar; she is just that committed to doing the right thing, even if it means sacrificing everything she’d ever known (though I would have preferred the film show us this rather than just having her state it).
The biggest issue with Mera was the romance. Bless Heard, she’s really trying, but she and Momoa just have no chemistry.  She has more chemistry in her one scene with Patrick Wilson, where she’s supposed to hate him, than in all the scenes she has with Momoa combined. There is also no real transition from “I hate this man but I must help him for the good of my people” to “I will sacrifice everything for him”; she just kind of thinks he’s a loser one moment and then loves him the next.
Patrick Wilson for me was the best part of this film. He is such a good actor that he makes this character so much more sympathetic and interesting than I think the filmmakers ever intended him on being. Orm is a rather blindsided hateful person, but Wilson manages to give him pathos and a sense of paranoia that builds with the amount of people that turn on him. He has a lot of issues to work through and were it not for Wilson’s acting, I’m not sure how much that would show in the film. The scene where he’s reunited with Atlanna was the best scene in the film, and you can clearly tell who the two best actors are in this film, because Kidman and Wilson sell it.
Jason Momoa was perfectly fine, but rarely rose above that. He has the physique and charm for the role, and when he’s playing Justice League Aquaman he is a joy to watch. Part of it is an issue with the writing, because the film can’t really decide if we are following a seasoned, experienced, jaded Aquaman who is willing to let people die just because they annoyed him, or someone who is still learning how to deal with the responsibilities of his powers. This version of Arthur is lost, afraid and insecure, who is forced into acting against his better nature, and Momoa just can’t pull that off. He’s too cool, too confident for the role; he’s a Han Solo, not a Luke Skywalker, and this film needs him to be the latter.
Overall, Aquaman was an entertaining, visually stunning and faithful adaptation to the comics. I had a ton of fun watching it and I highly recommend it, in spite of some dialogue and script issues. It really is what a superhero film should be; fun, action packed and very genuine.

fourth and one converted by a very busy Marvin Harrison Colts move closer Kelley Holcomb to Kent dilgar inside the Bengals 10-yard line but then Holcomb threw wide of Aaron Bailey he tipped the ball into the hands of an alert Ashley Ambrose who for the next 30 yards or
so does some pretty nice broken-field running tried to bring those o kick return skills and punt returners kiddos back into it but on the very next play Jeff Blake finds Marco Battaglia who catches it but gets stripped by ray McElroy Steve Morrison gets the ball with a head
of steam and he hasn't tackled and Gilley rumbles down to the Bengals 5-yard line then came one of the sorriest offensive series you'll ever see Sam shade started it with a sack move it back three yards next play Aaron Meadows cold timeout as he jumped the count move
it back fine Knicks play the Colts jump again take five more steps backwards Carrie Blanchard then capped this folly by missing a 31-yard field goal the Colts had come up empty that was nice to see that was a big step for our defense the defense did it again
midway through the second quarter good game by Marshall Faulk but Sam shade nails him from the side charged the ball loose James Francis is there for the recovery this seemed to Goose the offense Cory Dylan got a lane to the right side picked up 14 yards and the
Bengals were at the Colts 35 then on a second and plenty Jeff Blake dropped a throw then he just saw the C's part nobody was on the left side he sprinted out of bounds at the 16 yard line from the 15 on a third down Blake to Tony
McGee a great grab and then he ignores a Jason Belle circuit 7 nothing Bengals the Colts responded in a hurry in consecutive runs Marshall Faulk converted a quarter of the football field he goes out here at the 2 from there Holcomb to Marvin Harrison with three Bengals giving
chase the official said Greg Myers pushed him out Cruz kosslyn says that shouldn't be a touchdown it was tied 7-7 at the half the Colts came right out with a scoring drive in the third quarter Faulk went over the 100 yard mark with this 18 yard run Cory
Blanchard finished the drive for the 42 yard field goal the Colts at 10 7 have their first lead of the game the Bengals bounce right back Blake threads the needle to David Dunn that's a first down but on the very next play Blake is forced to step up
in the pocket and he's dropped by Dan footman watch our ground level camera as he gets up Blake's legs wobble he seems to be dazed as I was going down he got hit in the head and uh try to get back back up try to get my back
up but uh I got up too fast I saw him his eyes roll around a little bit I was you know waving or someone would come in you know a train or something Blake wobbled off boomer esiason sprinted in and went right to work very first play he
finds David Dunn throw picked up of 22 yards that's to the Colts 46 yard line on the third play Corey Dillon got the call going right nothing there so he reversed directions boomer stepped in front of Carlton gray giving Dylan the corner and he was gone Carl Pickens
shielded his journey the rest of the way 1410 Bengals boy everybody loved that boomer block I guess I was just standing there and just had to do something I just didn't stand there so and it was a DP thank goodness wasn't linebacker or complete alignment so and I'm
not so sure and you saw him I saw myself once again though the Colts were poised to strike been this Holcomb to dilgar pass move the ball to the Bengals 21 yard line but then the pressure came and hoped them he let go of the ball early once
again Ashley Ambrose was there for the pick and except for one last lineman Ambrose might have been gone he got it to the 43 from there the offense kept it going the safety valve goes to Cory Gilliam the past thrown by Esiason who's still in the game I
just decided to I mean he took us right down there and and got us a score and I didn't want to change at that point on 13 inches Boomer roll drunk and lobbed the pass to marco Battaglia for a 29 yard pickup boomer was distributing the ball all
around this pass goes to david dunn at the 10 and then he finishes the drive with a touchdown finding Karl Pickens cutting across the back of the endzone the play was for Darnay and they double-team me and actually I think they blew the coverage so that left me
open and I was able to make a play on the same script was fall though early in the fourth quarter pocum's pass is tipped James Francis is there to intercept at the Bengals 35 yard line got big E's and I got stuck them hand out there I'm luckily
step into my glove you know I'm just because haven't been the right place at the right time again the Bengals went to work and it seemed like a size n' had turned up the speed on the game I mean firing off the ball we were faster things happen
a little bit faster I don't think he was given the defense time to rest you know he was getting us up and going it's gotta be up-tempo it's got to be in your face and it's got to be you know going right now I was telling them the
second go last drive when we school in a I think Tony stored can ask him slow down round the clock and he's like screw it was girls go on third and for the Bengals sealed off plenty of room for Eric the enemy he needed for he got ten
there was a disquieting moment the screen to Brian Milne appears to be fumbled the officials ruled he never had the ball the Bengals move it down to the five from there it's Boomer to Tony McGee under the goalpost for the finishing touch down again the focus was on
a Sian who engineered three touchdown drives and could you believe it hell yeah that's why we paid the big bucks you know yes that's why we brought him here because that's what boomers here to do just like meeting with somebody go down you got to come in and
step it up both streaks continued the Colts lose again and for the second week in a row the Bengals enjoy a victory and enjoy they did like you know John Travolta said in whatever was a rush man it was great we had a good time today was

We could’ve talked all night and I’d still have wanted more.  Thoughtful, generous, revealing, insightful, and oh so fun, legendary, Grammy Winning bassist, Will Lee, took us on a thrill ride through his stellar, illustrious and industrious, career… growing up in Texas, seeing The Beatles on Ed Sullivan and that very night blowing the dust off his untouched drums and deciding he was going to be a musician. For Life. He made good on that choice. From playing his first gig in a parking lot and getting paid $6 to do it; playing in six bands a night, six days a week, to landing his first major gig with his dream come true, Dreams––alongside Billy Cobham… to playing Bette Midler’s first tour with theretofore unknown Barry Manilow; playing with Ace Frehley, Chaka Khan, the late, great, Hiram Bullock; alongside Paul Schaffer, from the from the very first Late Night with David Letterman to the very last Last Show… some of his favorite Letterman memories: singing a featured McArthur Park, backed by a full orchestra and Jimmy Webb, the yearly Darlene Love, Baby Please Come Home––the first time in sweatshirts with the 4 piece World’s Most Dangerous Band, to the last, formal extravaganza; Jay Thomas, Warren Zevon, James Brown!  Session work, his ongoing life’s blood. Getting loaded then getting sober, 33 years ago, playing through it all. There was praise for Bernard Fowler, Tommy Allen, loving memories of Geoff Emerick, who was at Will’s Fab Faux gig this past Saturday night, where I was blessed to be, just three days before he passed. Will talked Beatles throughout, shared some Ringo insight, how he prepped Revolution 9 as a newlywed, the upcoming Fab Faux Beacon gig celebrating George, and a few other projects he’s orchestrating which are close to his heart and celebrated his beloved Sandrine’s IPA Award for her book, Nudescapes. And then, he played, and sang… so chill… so Will. I couldn’t adore the man more. Humble, focused and true.

Top 10 books of the year
There were so many amazing books I read this year that it was truly difficult to just list 10 of them. So much talent and passions for what you do and I love every second of it. Thank you all for letting me be a small piece of your world.
  1. Flanagan
by: James Longmore-
Chris and Helen Sewell are your typical, all-American couple; happily married for ten years, respected high school teachers.
During their annual Spring Break vacation to recharge their batteries and reconnect with each other after undergoing a gruelling but unsuccessful fertility program, Chris and Helen are waylaid by a perverse gang of misfits in the small, North Texas town of Flanagan.
Taken hostage as the focus of the gang’s twisted games, Chris and Helen are forced to perform increasingly vicious acts of physical, sexual and emotional torture upon each other until events take an unexpected turn and there is an unintentional death. As their circumstance dissolves into chaos, the Sewells find themselves involved in a different situation altogether.

2. Warm Dark Places Are Best
by: Mike Duke
Carl and Jessica are emotionally stretched thin, down on their financial luck and stuck moving into a really nasty apartment complex after Jessica gets laid off and Carl is already on a fixed disability payment.
From day one they see lots of roaches in the hallways but nothing in their own apartment. Hoping their luck will hold, they have no idea just what kind of hell is coming their way or what hideous secrets their apartment, in particular, holds.
Buckle up. Carl and Jessica are in for a nasty ride and so are you.

3. A long December
by: Richard Chizmar
Chizmar assembles thirty-five stories, including a previously-unpublished novella, and presents us with A Long December. This massive new collection features more than 150,000 words of Chizmar’s very best short fiction and includes 8,000 words of autobiographical Story Notes.
Eerie, suspenseful, poignant, the stories in A Long December range from horror to suspense, crime to dark fantasy, mainstream to mystery.

4. Filthy Movie
by: Wade H. Garrett
Warning: This is a very violent and sadistic story that should only be read by the seasoned extreme-horror reader. This isn’t some bogus disclaimer to draw in readers. I truly don’t want someone to get offended that isn’t familiar with the level of brutality portrayed in this story. Summary: Christie Silvers and Duncan Bradshaw are on a first date and decided to go back to Duncan’s hotel room after dinner. Christie is a beautiful girl with long, blonde hair and emerald green eyes. She is intelligent and full of life. Unbeknownst to her, Duncan is married and has a habit of bending the truth. He’s an average man with red hair, and he suffers from social awkwardness and low self-confidence. Never in his wildest dreams did he think he’d be scoring with such a hot chick. All his lies were paying off, and this was going to be the night of his life… so he thought. Unfortunately for him, the hotel owner, Henry, is a sadistic killer who can’t wait to turn his dream into a hellish nightmare.

  5. Death Bed

The tiny island-town of Dovetail Cove is the only home she’s known. And tonight, she’s sneaking out to visit her Gran and show her a ‘mystery box’ she’s stumbled across at the Main Street Summer Market, dead certain there’s a story hidden within. And she’s right. Events reach back to 1956 and a shadowy ‘incident’ that started the darkness on the island. Only a handful know the true details of the incident. And even fewer have witnessed this new darkness, but Farrah will catch a glimpse of it tonight…at the edge of her Gran’s DEATHBED.

9. Between the Walls
by: Lemmy Rushmore and Niall Parkinson
This our blood, our sweat, our tears, a culmination of all our years. We have left no rock unturned, no crevice unexplored. It is our every ache, those unimaginable pains, it is life itself and its endless stains. We have made every effort to spill forth that which resides within us. We have snatched the heart from our chests, our souls from their very confines and displayed them here for all to see. That which follows is a collection of our bits and pieces stretched beyond belief and twisted into unrelenting tales. It is the deep, the dark and the ugly that surrounds us all in every direction, the horrors that confront us daily. It is those things lurking within, those depths we dare explore and the hideous monsters that dwell there. Here we have expounded upon those things most dare not speak of. We have touched on those things most dare not feel. Here we have created for you a darkly vivid world and filled it with unimaginable beasts and unconquerable dilemmas. In the following collective art and poetry have cohesively merged feeding off one another until they became something else entirely, something extraordinary. In our effort to bring you something different, every emotion has been twisted, every feeling heightened, every situation over exaggerated until the pain and suffering will be felt, until you are there with us in utter darkness. So come now if you will and join us as we journey between the walls.

DP/DC Week Day 4 - There was something off about them...
Tumblr media
I didn’t get to write everything I wanted to for yesterday’s prompt, but I felt like it could still fit for today’s. So you can all also get a little drawing I did that took much longer than I would like to admit.
Tim just couldn’t wrap his head around it-why him? Why James? Why couldn’t he look at Jason’s so called clone without recoiling back in what? Fear? Disgust?
James couldn’t be human, Tim decided there and then. Something must’ve happen during the cloning process, or James was just a shapeshifter pretending to be Jason’s clone, James could even just be Jason’s doppelgänger!
But there were still so many similarities between the two-not to mention the concerning things that James told them. But then why couldn’t Tim look at him? He could look at Jason just fine right? Sure he didn’t like to look him in the eyes, but that’s normal right?
Cass had been brought back by the pits too, and he could look at her good enough. Did it matter that after she was brought back she would fade into the shadows sometimes, even when she wasn’t moving?
Bruce was fine, he had to be. But maybe it’s because he’s been around him for so long that he didn’t notice anything.
Maybe there was another, bonus reason as to why he couldn’t stand to see Ra's al Ghul.
Maybe there was a more permanent cost to being tossed into the pits.
Maybe he could find out why this ‘GIW’ were so interested in them.

We were Live with The Love Goddess. The Petite Flower, The Aphrodite of the Accordion, The Fashion-Plate Saint, The Princess of Panty Shields, The Empress of Elvis Impersonators, The Judy of Judyism, Judy Tenuta... and she was HYSTERICAL!
Judy talked about Ladies of the Night which she did with Paula Poundstone, Rita Rudner and Ellen Degeneres, who back then said, "I want to do TV." Now that's manifesting! She talked Emo Philips, Jay Leno, Steven  Wright, Sam Kinison, and Arsenio, who were there in the early days. And Tom Dreesen who walked her through it. George Carlin who took her out on the road to open for him, Diet Dr. Pepper, oh the money! Winning the first American Comedy Award, thank you George Schlatter; Joan Rivers whom she adored, Dr. Ruth, Cher, Donnie and Marie, Olivia Newton-John, Susan Lucci, Katherine Hepburn, James Stewart, Walter Cronkite, and Mohammed Ali... who made her starstruck.
Coming up a star on the Las Vegas Walk of Fame, November 7th, on her Scorpio birthday; and independent feature, and, working towards a show of her own, Judy's Love Goddess Boat?
What a gas! In the good way. More energy than Richard Simmons on speed, more slogans than the 12 Steps on steroids.
Crazy, crazy, fun. It did happen!
Follow her on Twitter @JudyTenuta and on Instagram @JudyTenuta and get your daily dose of Judy.
