y/n not being a ninja, more of an ally and friend, Morro feels somewhat comfortable around her. But it is more so because she was the one who helped him with everything when he was stuck in bed.

He will deny any feelings that are platonic or romantic, but Wu knows there's something there. It may have been a couple decades since Morro was gone yet Wu sees that look in his eyes.

y/n offers Morro to stay at her place in Ninjago City. He’ll hesitate as she’s done too much for someone who terrorized her friends. Once he thinks it over, he’ll agree because he’d rather not be reminded daily of the biggest mistake of his life.

The ninjas’ reaction when leaning Morro is going to live with y/n:

When moving in, Morro meets a little monster that y/n calls her cat. (I can see him being more of a cat person.) He fucking hates that thing with how it moody it is and y/n is laughing in the background as he describes himself.

At this point y/n is basically taking care of two cats. They both are deathly afraid of water, sassy bastards, might have rabies, hiss, and are very clingy.

If she wants Morro to function like a normal human being, then she’s trying to help him get over his phobia of water. Putting his hand under the running faucet and reminding him that it's not going to hurt. Going to the beach to stand in the water for a minute and only a minute. After that he just wants to go back home, y/n listens to him and they leave. On the way back to the house, y/n praises him for going up against his fear until his face is red.

Even when he gets over his phobia of water, he’s not going swimming or anything. It just means he can be in it without having a borderline panic attack. So he still hates it, just now he can live with it. Also Nya scares him, please keep him safe from Nya.

When y/n leaves for work, Morro is visibly saddened that he is being left alone. She always makes sure to stay that she’ll be back and what time she’ll be back home. If she says that he won’t be alone because he has the cat, he’s going to roll his eyes.

Swears he’ll kill the cat if she’s gone too long, but they both know it's an empty threat.

After being a ghost for so long, his body and taste buds are probably over sensitive. His body will become less sensitive over time unlike his taste buds. If y/n tries giving him what would be considered modern food, then he’s going to make a funny face before continuing eating.

Will not eat anything spicy. No matter how much he tries to build up his spice tolerance.

y/n showing him modern technology will be overwhelming. It's interesting to him to see how far people have come in the past decades.

Can’t watch horror movies, they’re too gory. If it has a ghost then he won’t shut up its inaccuracy. Only shuts up when there's a cheap jump scare.

As much as modern technology fascinates Morro, he’ll probably go to books as his main source of entertainment. y/n’s house will become a library, but she is not complaining. If she gets into books then he’ll be happily recommending books or reading together.

y/n is going to make a mini book club that consists of her, Morro, and Wu. She mainly made the club to mend the broken relationship between master and student. It must have worked because they’re having monthly meet ups. Having a discussion about a book with a cup of tea and pastries.

Morro doesn’t really think about his relationship with y/n. It’s kind of up in the air. While y/n is worried about perceiving platonic interactions as romantic.

Wu is just watching the mutual pining until it's getting too painful to let it go on. He’s playing Cupid and trying to engage them to confess their feelings.

“So you’d be fine with y/n being with someone else and being haunted by what if’s?”

“I think you're projecting your relationship with Misako onto me and y/n.”

“Morro!”

If they end up together, not much will change. It just adds to them being affectionate and Morro being openly jealous. The relationship is going to be taken slow and steady.

“Morro, daraling.”

“What?”

“You think Wu wants grandchildren?”

“Okay, that’s enough from you.”

Chart Ruler Through the Houses PT.1

The ruler of the First house = The ruler of the Ascendant = The Chart ruler

To determine the ruler of any house, we look at the sign on its cusp. So, for example, if you are a Capricorn Rising, the ruler of your first house is the planet that rules Capricorn - Saturn. Sometimes, you might need to consider two rulers - both the traditional and the modern ruler. That would be the case for Aries/Scorpio (Mars & Pluto), Aquarius (Saturn and Uranus), and Sagittarius/Pisces (Jupiter and Neptune) Risings.

The planet that plays the role of a Chart Ruler is extremely significant in our lives, and we analyze the sh#t out of it! 😆

If you have TWO Chart Rulers, it's especially interesting to examine how they interact with each other. For example, I had an Aquarius Rising friend, and his chart rulers - Saturn and Uranus - were squaring each other. Throughout his entire life, his focus was pulled in two different directions - his career and relationships. It seemed like one couldn't function well in the "presence" of the other. To see which area would outweigh the other, it's helpful to know which of the planets is stronger in the chart, as well as what their initial archetypal relationship looks like.

Another example - I am also an Aquarius Rising, but my chart rulers trine each other. There is no tug-of-war going on here! Lucky for me, I know.

If we being real? NO 5th floor combat stage is safe at high ascension 🤧 it will always be a fight for your life, but these two can be run-enders. MotD throws in two mudrock Colossi for funsies and SAWF will end in tears if you don’t have the ranged units to get all them drones gone and the swiftness to pick off all the Rot Eaters before they get too beefy to hold off.

Samivilinn aka that bigass ice mountain with an attitude

Very straightforward. Typhon will trivialize this boss and Reedalter will trivialize the stage itself by clearing it of all the ice in one s3 activation. The enemies on the right hand side tend to be more annoying to corral but if you have Eyjalter with her s3 it’ll keep the whole squad across the map healthy enough to push through.

Eikthynir aka the Snowpriest who really wants to be Usain Bolt

Full disclosure; most of my wins against him required creative stacking of Sing fordartals and proper timing/abuse of Goldenglow’s s3 to get him down most of the way before he speedruns the exit. But so many battles have ended up with him blowing past all my blockers with 1% health and me not being able to do shit but watch 😭

Crazelyseon, aka the teleporting Flying Spaghetti Monster

A menace 😭 Invulnerable 90% of the time, warping around the stage, dropping cancer squares of doom, and worst of all the time limit. If you don’t kill this thing soon after it starts warping three times in a row then you’re finished cause it’ll explode. I haven’t felt such a time crunch on an IS boss since BSL.

Best practice is to set up your heaviest hitters at two of its stopping points and only activate the device when it’s overcharged to get the most bang for your buck. You have GOT to time it right tho cause if you get impatient or your DPS gets wiped then the whole stage goes to shit really fast. Once again, I have never beat this boss without an ASPD boost of some kind.

Great Operators for IS4:

Ines - her invisibility reveal is goated

Typhon - really good for general carry on all floors but outside of the ice mountain boss her meta-ness falls off esp at higher ascension levels

Reedalter - her s2 will melt anybody including those Shattered Champions

Eyjaberry - frankly indispensable, her s1 holds it down and her s3 reaches everywhere

FedExecutor - his s2 allows him to dodge most bullshit and he holds his own despite not being able to be directly healed

Virtuosa - def a luxury pick and fairly new but a way better source of Necrosis damage than Valarqvin and just overall very fun to play

Ling - I usually do not play SummonKnights because I don’t have the brain cells but honestly the runs I’ve done with her were solid and fun especially with the Empty Fowlbeast relic

Ho’olheyak - rather mid as a Core Caster but with the relics that boost levitation effects she can actually hold her own

Jessica Wick - her deployable shield can buy you some time against these sprinting mobs

Yato alter: she’s a key FastRedeploynights operator for a reason!

Mlynar - full disclosure; I don’t really use him in IS unless I get him as a temp recruit because while his damage output is unrivaled, I hate how he can’t block shit unless his skill is up

Ethan - a low cost GOAT at crowd control. That Prisoner’s Night stage is trivialized with him

Other random tips:

Avoid the Nameless Hero stage. Please. 😭 If you come across the Always on Alert encounter, just dip. Expeditiously.

When going for the 3rd ending, don’t go in a Scout node until like floor 4. Why? Cause that Routeweave Net will make additional enemies appear in all your stages and it’s best to just put that off till the last moment. By floor 5 if you take the bottom most route the Prophecy node that’s supposed to be the fork to get to Eik’s stage will turn into the one you need to get the Boundless Gift to open up floor 6.

GG’s s3 is garbage for the ice mountain stage. She’ll target every individual ice square before she decides to hit any enemies.

If you pick up the Scarred Amber relic, maximize your slay by stacking hella Plunder or Migrate Fordartals

Always save your best Fordartal combos for end stage bosses! There’s no limit of how many buffs you can stack on a node so take advantage of that.

After a certain Collapse level is reached you won’t get any more Fordartals outside of what you can buy from Cannot or get from a unique Encounter

There are two secret Collapsal Paradigms to unlock. One obscures your operators and the other obscures the enemy health bars and how many life points you have left. Both are fairly annoying. BUT STILL BETTER THAN BAROMETRIC ANAMOLY

As you can see I had a few requests to explain the pic below which I posted a couple of months back.

Well first of all the idea of this Au is not solely mine, this Au is built up with @madameazzure and @myaire21 help (I seriously don’t know what I can do without you guys ❤)

I am tagging @elder14 and @southernwolf16 because they showed interest ^_^.

This Au is a bit complicated and I am too lazy to draw it as a comic XD

Ok let’s start by explaining how did 1st and 3rd got their positions in the union.

As we know that the current first elder is too young to be one of the founding elders of the union, so what’s so special about him that he was assigned to hold that position?

The idea is that the Original-1st (the one who founded the union) didn’t want his position to fall in the wrong hands, especially werewolves or nobles’ hands, he might be had been blinded by greed that he didn’t want the union to be in hands other than his.

“Cloning” what Original-1st thought of, therefore each new generation a new clone of the original-1st was leading the union till now.

However, the survival rate of the cloning process, special training and the experiments is so low; that’s why each generation multiple clones were created in batches until only one sole clone survives the whole process. This clone would lead the union and would get the title of the 1st elder.

Each new first elder had a personal assistant who would help and guide 1st in his duties and roles. But more importantly the personal assistant is responsible of the cloning process for the next generation (basically ensuring that there will be another 1st to takeover).

Back to the current timeline, for this generation the personal assistant is 3rd, his relationship with Current-1st is as strong as steel which made me think that those guys met at a very young age.

Being close with another human being Current-1st judgement might had been impaired compared to his previous descendants, his relationship with 3rd made him appreciate human life more and was against creating new batch of clones for the next generation. And gave the order to 3rd.

“Danger, the mission is about to be compromised, protect the objective”

This was what 3rd is thinking about (3rd is programmed to protect the 1st’s position at all costs even if it means going against his master). Before Current-1st destroyed all the data and the tools to make the process possible; 3rd ensured that he has everything he needs for one clone.

The union is destroyed, the Current-1st is dead. With both gone; 3rd’s sole purpose of existence is gone too.

He doesn’t have a master to serve anymore, he doesn’t have to ensure that there is another clone to take over the 1st’s position. He was free…. But he didn’t feel free at all, he felt more caged then anything.

3rd wanted his master back even if it meant going against 1st’s wishes and created the last clone.

After a few months Frankenstein paid 3rd a visit to check if how is the guy doing (cause after 1st’s death, 3rd just vanished and Frankenstein started to worry). When Frankenstein saw the little child floating in the he knew exactly what 3rd has done.

“ARE YOU INSANE….!! PLAYING WITH HUMAN LIVES AS YOU PLEASED JUST TO SATISFY YOUR NEEDS…..I THOUGHT YOU’VE CHANGED”

Frankenstein was furious, he was angry, if he didn’t know 3rd, if he didn’t interact with him before, Frankenstein would have killed him on the spot. But he didn’t, he just paid him a visit because he was worried, Frankenstein started to care about this child the same way he cares about the other kids in his house. Frankenstein was simply disappointed…

Biology and Medicine were never 3rd kind of science, when he cloned first he was just following the steps, he never knew what to do if something would go wrong. With the union scientist are out of the question. 3rd had only one guy to turn to. He had to sallow his pride and go to Frankenstein even though Frankenstein made it clear to him that he doesn’t want anything with him after that day. 3rd knew Frankenstein wouldn’t turn a child in need.

This is about it, Frankenstein stabilized Tiny-1st‘s condition. Took them both in his household. Teaching third how to be a father…. And it should be all fluff now XD.

The Myth of „unromantic“ Overlays in Synastry

A lot of sources claim that there are the „relationship/ love Houses“ when it comes to Synastry Overlays (looking at where the planets of someone else’s Chart fall on your Chart, and vice versa) and then there are those that „only“ indicate friendship, a work relationship or daily business etc.

Classically those „romantic“ Houses are: the 5th (romance), the 7th (partnership) and the 8th (deep intimacy).

When you are very new to Astrology this can dishearten you and make you feel like you don’t stand a chance with a someone just because you don’t tick others „Love Overlay“ boxes.

However:

1. There is no such thing as predetermination. Astrology includes Free Will and Astrology, too, is all about learning, growth of character and the evolution of the Soul. There is no right and wrong and there certainly isn’t „this is how it’s supposed to be, or how it’s not supposed to be“.

2. Astrology isn’t here to „tell you“ who you’re meant for or not meant for. If someone’s planets don’t fall into your 7th House (classical House of marriage) this by no means means that you aren’t compatible in marriage. It just means that maybe there are other factors in your connection that play a bigger role (someone in your 1st House could make you feel good about yourself and give you a sense of identity - who wouldn’t like that?). If you feel like someone is right for you, go for it!

3. In my eyes, while some Houses can be very blunt with showing romantic compatibility, ALL Houses can contribute to attraction and healthy romance and love. This depends on several factors including your personal Charts and your preferences when it comes to love among other things (Aquarius placements usually aren’t the attached at the hip marriage types so they might value someone they have a friendship with (11th House) over someone who gives them the „marriage“ vibes).

Also, just having someone’s planets in your 7th House doesn’t automatically mean you are perfect for each other.

4. Overlays are only one part of the equation. The biggest one, in my eyes and from an astrological point of view, are Aspects. The House Overlays are more background noise (from my experience) and as there are no „unromantic“ Houses they will just set the stage according to the act of the Aspects.

Also, someone might have their DC (7th House) in Cancer while their Sun sign is in Aries. This means they find Cancer placements romantically attractive but will likely clash with them due to their fire Sun. This can go both ways, of course.

Then, there are Combine Charts - but that is another story, and as I myself don’t really use them I will leave this to other people who are more knowledgeable about those kind of Charts :)

Anyways, in order to state my point I have created a small list.

This goes to show the energy of House x Planet (especially/ mostly Sun, Moon and Venus) in Synastry Overlays.

Usually and from experience, the House person will feel the „effect“ of the planet more while the planet person has a more passive/ reactive role. This means that i.e. if someone’s Sun for falls into your 7th House you will likely see them as a perfect match somehow and feel romantic attraction. They, may or may not feel the same, but are likely to at least notice this and maybe reciprocate just because you approach them in a more romantic manner than other people.

Another example would be that people with personal planets in your 4th House (family) feel very familiar to you and you trust them easily. You are likely to open up to them instantly and you feel at ease with them. In return, they are probably going to let their guard down, too, as they sense this, and behave in a pleasant manner with you.

However this also depends on the Houses from my experience, as well as the Chart natives (someone with the Sun in their 7th might be more prone to cater to other people’s perceptions of them, I.e. when they fall into someone’s 7th House they may be more likely to reciprocate the romantic advances)

Back to the list (I have tried to focus especially on the less classical Houses for romance).

PLANET X HOUSE OVERLAYS (Synastry):

☀️ „Boost of Confidence“

1. The planet person will likely make you feel understood, validated and good about yourself.

You might see them as the trophy wife or husband and you might „fangirl“ them.

You are likely to look good together and be the typical dream couple, especially in public.

The planet person here gets a a healthy dose of ego boost (especially with the Sun), too.

🍀 „ Safe and Secure“

2. Usually the planet person will provide in one way or the other for the House Person (financially, emotionally, taking care of them etc). Thus, they give the House person a sense of security, stability and nourishment. The planet person will usually increase the self worth of the House person.

Also, the House person might be very inclined to touch the planet person and this placement can be great for simply hanging around, cuddling and having a cozy time.

This can be great for people who like stability, security and dependability in relationships.

👥 „Same Wavelenght“

3. People with their planets in your 3rd House usually stimulate your curiosity, communication and also social life. They will be someone you love to talk to, share ideas and socialize within a group.

As communication is key this is wonderful to have in a relationship, especially for people with an active mind! Understanding and being understood is just invaluable.

You might have a brother/ sister dynamic - in a good way! Like you just get each other.

👶🏼 “Soul Family“

4. This is an amazing Overlay to have. People in your 4th feel like family to you; they make you feel secure, nurtured and understood. It’s like you’ve known them from before (childhood or a past life even) and they almost always make you feel at ease.

This is also great for having a family together, of course! And it’s said that the planet person likely reminds you of your upbringing, has a similar approach to themes of home, family and the private life, and/or had a similar upbringing or family background and roots.

✨ „Spark and Romance“

5. 5th House overlays are usually lighthearted, fun and playful. They are about attraction and romance but they usually have an air of innocence - like a puppy kind of love!

They get a really good rap because they are usually easygoing but with that spark! It’s usually very flirty and the House person will feel youthful and stimulated when with the planet person.

They usually adore the planet person and make them feel attractive and desirable ..

This is also said to be good to have children together. The planet person may make you wanna pro-create and raise kids together with them.

🍀 „Love Everyday“

6. People from your 6th House can help you so much getting your life together. Just being around them may make you want to sort out your life and they will usually help you with your daily business, work and health (even by just being around). This does get a bad rap but your daily life is actually your DAILY LIFE. Who wouldn’t want to have someone around who is wonderful for them on a daily basis? While 5th House sometimes screams holiday romance, this person is here for you in every situation and you are compatible to be with each other on a day to day basis and share your everyday life.

It’s true that other romantic indicators are needed here but if they’re there this can be an amazing overlay. The planet person usually loves taking care of the House person‘s needs and helping them with their life. They can be very motherly (especially with the Moon and Venus there) in a good way, and they get things done together which can be so helpful when you don’t naturally have that in your Chart.

Also, this is a great overlay for living together and spending time on a daily basis!

💍 „Marry Me“

7. This is the classic „partnership“ House which basically means you are very likely to see the other person as a great match. They likely posesss qualities you value and look for in a relationship and they give you the romantic feels right away. If the other person feels similarly this is a very romantic placement and you are likely to become a couple and/or even get married (which doesn’t mean marriage is only meant for the 7th, like stated above).

🌚 „How deep is your Love“

8. This House is all about intimacy, depth and the soul. It is not as visible as the 7th and /because it usually goes a lot deeper. Someone in your 8th will stimulate your subconscious, the parts of you you didn’t know existed. Usually the planet person makes you feel like they „know“ parts of you no one else does.

11. Whoever said friendship isn’t love? Many times you will read that this is the classical „friend zone“ overlay placement but who said lovers shouldn’t be friends or friends shouldn’t be lovers?

It’s true that if there are not so many other romantic indicators between the Charts (Venus/Moon, Mars/Venus etc) you are more likely going to see them on a platonic level but that doesn’t necessarily exclude other instances.

Some people value friendship over everything and all they want in a relationship is a partner in crime who is their best buddy!

You are likely to share ideals and more often than not a similar social circle which can be so great because who doesn’t love having your lover in the same friends group!

12. Having a prominent Neptune in my Chart I have never understood how some people could view this placement as unfortunate.

With the 12th House Overlay you have a spiritual, otherworldly and soul connection to the other person that includes a selfless kind of love and karmic / soul ties (which def aren’t bad!).

You can likely sense what the other person feels and can easily connect through dreams. This placement is ethereal. The planet person will usually shed light on the hidden parts of the House person and help them heal.

A/N: I wrote this in 1st person but I feel like I should make these in 3rd so that’s what I’ll start doing. But this is also my first time making a one-shot fic so cut me some slack if it’s trash. But I hope you enjoy!

I get tired of your no-shows

Taking in the warmth through my fingers I look at the door once more before glancing at the clock.

He’s late. Again

I take a deep breath to cool down my nerves and sigh. I sip the rest of my butterbeer before looking at the entrance once more and packing my stuff and walking out. I look around once more before giving up and walking back to the castle.

You get tired of my control

As I’m walking back I start to get more irritated by the step. This isn’t the first time he’s done this. Always too busy to hang out because of him with his friends or too busy because of pranks. The missed dates and the interrupted times. All for his friends. I’m clearly not a priority in his life and that has to change or I’m not going to be in it.

Walking through the castle I collect my thoughts on how I’m gonna approach this situation. But since I’m so pissed off, I’m gonna take an angry approach.

I walk up to the gryffindor common room and say the password before walking in.

As I stepped into the common room, lo and behold, the marauders spread on the couches talking loudly and laughing. Seeing that made my blood boil. As I walk over I catch the attention of the brunet,

“Y/N!!!!! Hey!!!” The Potter boy called out. I gave a weak smile. Which caught the attention of my boyfriend.

“Hey, babe.” He smiled at me. I internally roll my eyes and keep an emotionless face on. At this point all the attention from the boys is on me.

“Hey. Can we talk?” In the corner of my eye I can see Remus and James glance at each other and look worriedly at Sirius. Yeah. They know better.

“Uhh. Sure. About what?” This time I rolled my eyes. I ignore his question and grab his hand before dragging him up to his dorm.

We enter and I close the door before leaning on it. He goes and sits on the foot on his bed.

“What do you want to talk about? We were in the middle of planning.” Bouncing his knee, I can tell he’s getting impatient and just wants this to hurry up and be done with this. I get even more annoyed at this.

“What do you want to talk about? We were in the middle of planning.”- I mocked him- “This is exactly what I’m talking about! You’re always busy! Doing this and doing that!” I start to raise my voice. My face starts to heat up due to my anger. I try to calm down but it doesn’t seem to be working.

He opens his mouth to say something but I cut him off,

“Where were you today?! I was waiting for you! For our date that YOU literally planned!” His eyes widened with realization and looked at me with a guilty face. But I’m too pissed off to care.

My eyes start to water with tears of frustration but I’m nowhere near done,

“Everytime I want to hang out you’re always busy with your friends and pranks! You never have time for me anymore!” At this point tears are streaming down my face and Sirius doesn’t look that far behind.

“This is the third date you missed! Because you forgot! I’m done with being second best. Im probably not even that!” He has his head down, hands on his knees.

“I—I-I” he stutters out what I think is going to be some wack apology. But I’m done. I can’t do it anymore.

“No. I’m done.” As soon as I said those words his head shot up fast and looked at me with wide eyes.

“No-” he goes to protest but I cut him off again.

“No I can’t do this. Not anymore. This has gone on for too long. You need to fix your priorities. I hope you don’t treat another girl like this. I’m breaking up with you, Sirius.” I don’t wait for a reply and I simply walk out of the door and walk back down to the common room, wiping my tears.

They keep telling me to let go

As I make it to the common room I notice the boys are still there. They see me and go to talk but a loud sound cuts them off. Items getting thrown around, is what I guessed it to be.

We all freeze and guilt washes over me. It’s Sirius.

But I don’t really let go when I say so

I turn my head to the staircase with a sad expression before brushing it off.

I had to. I deserve better. I thought to myself.

I look over to the boys to see that they have worried but knowing expressions on their faces. I gave them weak smiles and walked away to my dorm.

I keep giving people blank stares

Drama travels fast around here at Hogwarts. So it wasn’t long until word got out that infamous Sirius Black was single again and back on the market.

My friends are starting to get worried about me because of my reaction to the breakup, or lack thereof. I know how to keep my emotions buried. I know it’s an unhealthy coping mechanism but I refuse to be sad over a boy who treated me like shit.

I’m so different when your not there

What they don’t know is that I cry myself to sleep. Everyday. I close my curtains around my bed and put a silencing spell around it and sob. For hours. It’s pretty sad.

But I keep my neutral face on for everyone else. From what I know Sirius isn’t doing much better. He’s just more open about his broken heart. Lily tells me he mopes around and doesn’t speak much anymore. Let alone prank anyone.

Everytime she tells me about him being sad it makes me want to run out the room and find him to cuddle with him and kiss him and apologize profusely for the break up.

But I remind myself that it’s not my fault and that I deserve better.

I tried to fight our energy

It's been three months since the break up and I have developed some pretty bad habits.

I’ve secretly been drinking to numb the pain. I know it’s not healthy but I can’t seem to stop.

Once all my roommates are sleeping I drink by myself on my bed. It helped in the beginning but now I can’t stop.

I’ve perfected my fake smile so no one could tell the difference. Well one person did, but I was unaware.

I’m in a deep depression and I have no one to talk to. None of my friends know, I can’t tell them. They won’t understand.

Meanwhile,

“Pads, you can’t keep moping around. She’s moved on, you should too.”

“No, I can’t. I still love her.” Sirius said but due to him being face first on his pillow it came out muffled.

“Well then you’re going to have to work your way to get her back. Show her you’ve changed.” The werewolf suggested to his friend.

“Really?” He picks his head up to face his friends, red and puffy eyes with a hopeful expression.

They nod.

But everytime I think I’m free

As the weeks pass I start to receive notes and letters with little flowers attached to them. I know they are from Sirius but I can’t seem to open them and read. It’s too hard and I’m not ready yet.

You get high and call on the regular

Once I reach my empty dorm I run to my trunk and collect all the saved letters. I place them on my bed and chuck my shoes off before climbing on my bed while getting comfortable.

I sort the letter from how I received them. I slowly open the first one,

Dear y/n,

Looking at us now I regret a lot of things.

I don’t blame you for not seeing us together in the future.

I was horrible, but for you I am willing to change. No. I will change.

You deserve so much better and if you let me I could be that person.

But I have to fix myself in order for that to happen.

If you're willing I would love to have another chance.

As I finish reading my eyes are cloudy with tears. I continue to read all of the letters.

And by the end of it I’m sobbing.

I get weak and fall like a teenager

I knew it was a bad idea to read those letters. Because after that I am ready to run back into his arms and express my love. But I can’t until I know that he’s changed.

I deserve better. I keep telling myself that.

Why, oh why does God keep bringing me back to you?

Everytime I see him now I try to avoid him. Everytime he’s in a room, I leave. Everytime class is over I run out before he gets the chance to talk to me.

Because I know if I take one look into his beautiful stormy gray eyes I will fall all over again. And that can’t happen.

I get drunk, pretend that I’m over it

It’s Friday night and today is the big Gryffindor party. Being stressed with liquor and drugs is not a good combo but I haven’t been safe these past couple of months.

I’m in my dorm room getting ready. I decide on a natural glam look with a bold red lip and a black satin body con dress with some black heels.

As I’m walking down the stairs, I can hear the music blasting and the red led lights are turned on. I part from my friends and immediately head to the liquor table. As I’m walking I fail to notice the pair of eyes following my every move.

I take a plastic red cup and I fill it up with the hardest liquor I could find on the table. After downing the cup I refill it and make my way over to my friends who are currently in the corner smoking what the muggles call ‘weed’. It’s strong but it helps me relax. Who knew muggle were so helpful.

Self-destruct, show up like an idiot

About an hour into the party everyone was either high, drunk or both. Which I was. Again me with my unhealthy coping mechanisms.

I ended up dancing in the middle of the room with a huge group of people. I feel eyes on me but I’m too drunk to care at the moment.

As I’m dancing I feel someone come up behind me and grab my hips. I turn around to see a random 7th year boy. He begins to trail his hands on my body.

He leans down to whisper in my ear,

“How about we go to my down, sweetheart?” His hot breath makes a shiver run down my spine, and not in a good way.

I began to shake my head while saying no but he clearly didn’t get the message because he gripped my wrists and tried to pull me with him. But because I was too drunk I couldn’t defend myself properly.

As I continue to struggle I see a person step in front of me, glaring at the boy,

“I suggest you let her go. Now.” I heard a familiar voice, I couldn’t tell who from my drunken state. Once the person turned around a smile involuntarily appeared on my face,

“Siri! Hi!” I giggled as he guided me away from everyone.

“Hi. Let’s get you somewhere safe.” He picks me up bridal style and starts to carry me up to the boys dorms and to his room.

I yawned and cuddled up into his chest,

“I’m still mad at you.” I mumbled. He set me down on his bed and goes to his trunk to take out some clothes,

“I know.” He said, sadly. As he’s helping me I go on a mini rant,

“You know you treated me horrible. I just wanted my boyfriend but you never made time for me. You missed dates, you cancelled on me a lot. And whenever we had time together alone you had to leave early. I just wanted you to give me your love and attention. But I was never a priority. I miss you so much, Siri.” After he tucks me into his bed he kisses my forehead and responds,

“I miss you too, baby.” He goes to walk away but I grab his hand. Which makes him turn around and give me a questioning look,

“Please stay.” I pout. He smiles and climbs into the bed with me. I turn to look at him,

“Cuddles?” I ask him with puppy eyes.

“Cuddles.” I snuggle up next to him with my head on his chest and my legs bunched up with his. He puts his chin on top of my head and begins to play with my hair.

“You know, I still love you. And I’m willing to give you a second chance, Siri.” I can’t see him but I can tell he has a huge grin on his face.

“I love you too, pup. Go to sleep. We’ll talk in the morning.” I start to drift off but before I do fully I feel him kiss my forehead again and whisper ‘I love you’ one last time before the darkness engulfed me.

Hey there! I'm wondering what synastry aspects and overlays you believe are the most Significant for happy long term relationships?

This is a hard one! So many have enough positives to show attraction or positives for a relationship and the list of them all would be too long for me to cover in just one post. But here are some that immediately stand out and some that indicate more long-term unions: 

Aspects:

*Trines and Sextiles always show more harmonious connections and can’t be ignored in general as something positive or indicating longevity for a relationship.

Venus Conjunction Mars can have a stronger connection than I think people realize. Conjunction is seen as comfortable but many times smothering or too similar. With Venus and Mars they have an understanding of each other’s wants and needs in a relationship!

Venus Trine Mars you have so much attraction and typically on a romantic level! Complementing energies that can indicate ongoing love, passion, and fasciantion. 

Sun Trine Mars is sometimes referred to as one of the major “marriage aspects”. It indicates passion but also stability.

Moon Sextile Pluto is all about emotional sharing and intensity. Can shed light on how deep two people can get with each other.

Moon Conjunction Neptune can be a complex aspect with a lot of pros and cons but there is a caring, receptive vibe that can be seen as a major way to connect.

*Trines with Saturn can be a good aspect for marriage and general stability.

Saturn Trine Ascendant can be promising for mutual respect and an outward stability that others see in the relationship. This can be favorable for growing confidence and supporting each other in their goals.

Venus in the 7th House is an overlay I don’t think any astrologer can ignore. That is because this is the stereotypical “harmony, balanced, ideal marriage” type of overlay. This indicates an area where partners make up for each other, where there is idealism, romance, and compromise. BUT you have to watch out for smothering each other, not facing conflict in a healthy way, and the relationship becoming stale.

Venus in the 9th House can indicate a very open and tolerant atmosphere. There is shared interests, beliefs, education, and friends. This can be a building block for a relationship in a very realistic and synergetic way.

Venus in the 4th House is usually not seen as a positive or easy placement in synastry. There is fear of vulnerability, doubt in the security of the relationship, some say the house mutes or smothers Venus, and there can be tension with each partner’s wants and needs. BUT there is magnetism and a deep connection that can be formed here. With maturity, respect, and especially reassurance this could actually turn into a place of safety and comfort. Preeclampsia stole my pregnancy

This is my story, I’m not telling it because I want you to feel sorry for me or pity me, I am telling my story so I could heal and maybe help someone else heal as well. I wanted people to know that they are not alone.

(PS I know this is a tear jerker so get some tissues and be thankful for what you have in life ❤️) excuse my grammar and typos!

It was late January 2019 when we found out we were pregnant with our second child. I was so happy! It had been 12 years. I was finally having another baby!

Every doctor appointment went great I was feeling so good proud to be pregnant! I was looking up how big my baby was every single week! Just so happy!! Then came my 28 week doctor appointment.

I was 28 weeks and 5 days pregnant with my second child. My body was swollen especially my feet and hands. I went in for my 28 week check up and was totally fine besides my swelling. That night I began having head aches that wouldn’t go away with Tyleno, eventually I was able to fall asleep and got up the next morning and went to work with a mild head ache. At around noon that Friday I did not feel right my head was hurting and I felt sick to my stomach. I drove myself to the hospital thinking the worst. My baby is so small. Preeclampsia is no joke we both could die! I was admitted to the OB and put on magnesium (mag) , my blood pressure was through the roof and the meds they put me on were not working. I was going to drive up to Fairbanks to pick up my oldest son from Grandmas that day after work but instead I was transported via ambulance to a hospital where they have a top notch NICU (Newborn Intensive Care Unit ) I was in the labor and delivery for a day and a half. My blood pressure was still very high but it looked like it was going down slightly. I was able to get off the mag for only a few hours then my BP shot back up. I was injected with steroids to help boost my sons lung and brain development so that If he were to be born that day he would be ready. I knew once I got back on the mag they were going to have to deliver my son. My 28 week son, who wasn’t ready to be born.

A NICU doctor came and talked to my husband and me about how our baby boy would do in the NICU, he said our son would be one of the “older” babies born and that he would need support with breathing and feeding. The doctor coming in to talk to us was very reassuring we knew that our son would be in the best place and where he needed to be to grow.

I didn’t get to see him before they took him away to the NICU. I was stitched back up and went into recovery. When I was finally able to see my son, my oh so tiny baby I couldn’t help but cry, because he was so small and he was so so precious, he is a prefect baby boy, my baby boy. He was hooked up to cords and tubes and monitors. I was able to hold him for a brief moment but I couldn’t hold him for very long because I was still having severe high blood pressure and he needed to be under lights.

My thoughts durning the 1st couple of nights.

I felt as if my body betrayed me! Why couldn’t I keep my baby safe? Why couldn’t I have a healthy pregnancy? I felt robbed of my 3rd trimester! I was just being able to feel my baby kick and see him move around in my belly. I was angry with my body and so so sad.

I know that he is safe where he was and I did what was best for him and myself. If I didn’t go to the hospital we could have both been very hurt.

Our Stay in the NICU.

Every time I went into my sons room I was heart broken. I cried my eyes out seeing him so small, hooked up to IV, Cpap, and monitors. It was so hard for me. Hearing the beeping of the monitors go off. His heart rate going down or his oxygen going down. It was very hard for me to see my baby laying in his tiny bed. I felt so helpless so, useless and so sad.

We have been in the NICU for 7 weeks 47 days! Everyday I don’t know what to expect. Is it going to be a good day? Or bad? Did he gain weight or lose? Did he stay on room air? Will he have IV tube in him when I get there? Will he be down a notch on his CPap? Or up a notch because he needed more oxygen at night? There are so many ups and downs when I come into the NICU every day. I would hold him and cry. I don’t cry every time I come in anymore only on the “bad” days. He is growing and I know he will be home soon.

I got to go Home but my Baby Didn’t.

When every thing was settled and I was getting ready for bed it all just hit me. I was home but my baby wasn’t! I cried and cried, this wasn’t the way I imagined coming home after the birth of my child. He was supposed to be home with me. He was supposed to nurse from me, we were supposed to come home together. Why did this have to happen to me? Why couldn’t I keep my baby safe? Why couldn’t I have a healthy pregnancy? I was sad. I felt alone, the hurt I felt, I hatred I had for my body, it was devastating.

I stayed in the hospital for a week, Friday to Friday. They were finally able to get my blood pressure down and stable for me to go home.

I went home and took a shower ate some lunch and went back to the NICU to be with my baby.

At night my oldest son asked me how long it will be until I’m not walking slow or hurting any more. 😣 that made me so sad. Him seeing his mom weak when he’s only seen me strong for him.

There are days that I am still very sad and I don’t know when that will go away will it ever go away? It does is getting easier as the days go by and my son is making progress and growing. We still have a long way ahead of us but it won’t be forever. He will be home soon.

I am so thankful for the doctors and nurses that take care of my son when I couldn’t. 💙

My thoughts or my analysis? Cause you’re getting the latter anyway lol I love doing action analysis, there’s so much happening and getting the chance to slow it down is great for getting a fuller picture.

Recap time!

This is a 6m scene I'm going over, so I'm gonna skip anything not directly relevant or I'll be here all night lol

So despite our brave heroes best efforts the plate is coming down. We get a power slide from Rude, a call from Tseng (who times it so perfectly was he watching?) and some cloti.

First thing we see if Tifa looking distraught. She has no idea how to stop the plate from coming apart and from the way she's looking at this consol wouldn't know what to do even if she could work the computer. They were so close to winning and now defeat is about to stomp all over them and kill everyone she loves. Tifa is someone whose driven by the desire for those she loves to be safe no matter what. This is a crushing moment for her.

Murderous Cloud is murderous (and kinda hot). I mean, we know he's got very little reservations about killing people in cold blood because he's SOLDIER!Cloud when it comes to a fight, but I do like the deadly intent we see on his face at different points in the game. He looked at Johnny a bit like this back in chapter 3 and now he's looking at Reno the same way. He means business.

And then he doesn't because Tifa's in trouble and we all know Real!Cloud prioritises Tifa's safety above everything else. That's not me saying he's no longer SOLDIER!Cloud, but the difference between the last screen and this is that he was fully in that badass merc mode about to kill Reno because it's what badass mercs do, whereas this is Real!Cloud urging him to refocus all that skill he's got into protective ability and go save the woman he loves.

I get some people might not see the distinction between the two personas, but it's actually really easy when you break it down. If it's about Tifa then Real!Cloud is gonna push for dominant action to keep her safe. If it's any other situation then he's just gonna let SOLDIER!Cloud do what he needs to. Sometimes it's a more conscious battle between the two and sometimes they co-operate. That's how a fractured psyche works within the context of Cloud's character. Don't believe me? You see both of them on screen at the start of chapter 8 in the church. Real!Cloud is the one saying “You okay, buddy?”

How many times can you count that we get an 1st person pov with Cloud in the whole game? Like literally looking through his eyes? Because this is 1st person pov. We are Cloud at this moment in time and he's rushing Rude, but still takes a glance at Tifa. I don't think this happens at any other point. This game is a 3rd person game. We're over everyone's shoulder. We don't get in their head to see through their eyes. This is deliberate framing. We obviously can't see his face or his reaction, but the fact we're seeing this moment as Cloud and he's chosen to look at Tifa is a big thing.

So Rude's pushed the button and Barret's yelling. Cloud actually looks more halfhearted in this swing than I expected. It's like Barret's fury just isn't enough to get his blood boiling lol

He's about to go after him anyway, when Tifa's voice stops him dead. I can't think of a moment in the game where someone else calling for him to stop actually makes him stop.

AH! Honestly this is such a move! Romantic hero hello! I know it's a classic move from Cloud – which is kindly weirdly implemented since we first saw it after OG, but it's been retconned as one of his signature moves with Tifa and only Tifa.

Also! EYE CONTACT! I'm gonna scream about Cloti eye contact until my own eyes cross lol they do eye contact so damn well! The only other person who got Cloud to look him in the eye was Andrea Rhodea lol Everyone else it's either confrontational eye contact or total avoidance. Cloud and Tifa have good eye contact. This highlights how much they trust each other. Even though Real!Cloud is afraid of letting Tifa know how weak he really is, he's ok with her looking him in the eye. He wants her to see the real him.

Now, I know some people go on about Tifa's chapter 3 comment of “Cloud, you're scaring me/your eyes didn't used to look so” as a negative thing. I've already explained why this is fucking bullshit, and I'd like to add that if Tifa wasn't comfortable with him in combat situations or otherwise she wouldn't make eye contact with him. Eye contact is fucking terrifying! You're able to see so much. These two aren't afraid to look in each other's eyes, even with their “I don't think he/she likes me” misunderstandings.

And just to cap it. They both smile to reassure each other they're ok.

Ok, so Reno and Rude are making their exit. Barret tries the FF7 boomer version of turning a computer off and on again by shooting it. Then Tseng proves he's either psychic, a stalker or just dramatic af by appearing on screen at just the right point to answer Tifa's question.

And look at her face! Whoever said she's a heartless bitch can stfu forever! This is the face of a woman who is broken by what's about to happen! She's lived in that slum for five years. She probably knows every local by name, and takes time to actually get to know them too. She cares. So much. She doesn't want anyone hurt. She's pleading for their lives. Pleading with her enemy. Who literally smirked when he said “there's nothing you can do now”. Tseng has no conscience.

Just adding this to be a butt. This is Cloud's reaction to Aerith when he sees her....what reaction? Yeah...

Then he asks where she is in his SOLDIER!Cloud way.

So Aerith gets dragged away and explosions start happening. A siren goes off. Barret and Cloud turn away from the computer. Tifa turns and says, “No no no no no” and Cloud immediately turns back. His eyes widen and he looks a bit lost for a moment. There's nothing he can do for her and he's not got the first clue anyhow, and there's no time. It's hitting him just how much she cares. I mean, he knew, but he didn't know, you know?

Notice the awkward hand there? Yeah, that's an “I don't know how to comfort you, what do I do?” hand gesture. Cloud's literally never seen Tifa like this. She's always trying her best to remain optimistic. She fights hard to protect what she loves. She doesn't fall to her knees defeated.

I'm actually loving all the extra insight all these analyses are giving me into just how reserved, how introverted, how determined Tifa is. She's had a hard fucking life. Born in a dust bowl, lost all her friends to the big city, saw her father murdered, almost died, her town got burnt to the ground but she still somehow managed to pick herself up and build a new life. She did that on her own. Nobody got her to Midgar. When she arrived she was lucky Marle took care of her. She could've been left alone with no support system. She got in with Avalanche and built a new family – even though they don't always see eye to eye on method, she also believes in their goal to stop Shinra and save the planet. She's principled and brave, focused af. But she's not unbeatable. Stuff gets her down. She tries her best to be cheerful, but doesn't always succeed. She keeps her problems to herself. But this? This is too big. This has broken her. She can't stay up and Cloud doesn't know how to help. Not emotionally, anyway.

OMG HE OFFERED HIS HAND!! I didn't see that before!! (Check the spot where his name is, his hand is between Tifa’s hair and arm, palm open.) I knew he grabbed her by the arm and hauled her up when she didn't move, but he's actually holding his hand out for her before that!! She's too in her head to do anything, though, and I don't think Cloud really understands that. Any devastating feelings he had about personal tragedy he's locked away because they literally broke him. It must be distressing on some level for him to see his own emotions mirrored in Tifa. I said before the urge to comfort her starts at the beginning of chapter 13, but maybe the first spark of that is this moment here, when he can't do a thing for her, except pull her along behind him and hope he can keep her alive.

There's some really nice still shots in this game and this is one of them. I don't really have anything to say about it. I mean, we knew Cloud had both hands on Tifa's shoulders so he could direct her where to go and she's not really with it until the moment the debris falls in front of her and shocks her out of her stupor. Cloud's focused on the job at hand, no time to worry about anything but the next obstacle. By keeping both hands on Tifa's shoulders he's ensured he doesn't have to keep checking on her to make sure she's with him. He's basically piloting her because she's not capable of decision making for the moment.

Someone tell me, do action backhugs count? That's non-optional embracing right there. How many of you have seen this exact moment? Because I have literally been replaying the same 4s clip to get the screen for this bit and this is the first time in about 10 replays that I stopped it here. This is the between 1 second frames when the debris falls.

I mean, this is what a bodyguard actually looks like. Cloud's focus is all on keeping Tifa safe. He pulls her close to him, offers strength while she's feeling weak. He is literally using himself as a shield for her. They're such a balanced couple. When one is weak the other is strong for them, and whatever flaws they have they accept. They really are just a great couple!

Probably the worst screen I've ever grabbed lol

I was trying to figure out the moment he took her hand but I can't quite stop on it and it's just a touch too much out of frame. Instead, I got this. EYE CONTACT. I don't need to explain it again, right? We get the whole Cloud/Tifa eye contact deal by now.

Although, at the same time, that's a fucking scary shot of Cloud lol reminds me of that meme with Rinoa and Squall where she says he's the best looking guy there and it's all pixellated lol

Ah! I remembered why I was trying to get their hands, to see if Tifa grabbed his first or he took hers. But I could see through the playback that he took her hand. He initiated contact.

Yknow, I know people often compare the whole one half is always the summoner or mage and the other half is the warrior, but this screen right here looks a lot like another FF couple.

Tidus and Yuna.

I mean...do I have to say more?

Cloud looks behind to check Tifa's ok – I mean she's not but you get the point. Still getting Tidus and Yuna vibes from this moment tbf. This is the exact same type of sequence they had of them in FFX-2 when Yuna's dreaming Lenne's past and she and Tidus replace Lenne and Shuyin. They're running down a corridor and Tidus looks back at her. I mean, seeing how this type of comparison is usually only reserved for the whole mage/warrior pairing, it's strange that their body language here mirrors Square’s first fully voice acted installment. At the time the graphics were cutting edge and the cut scenes are still lauded as some of the most beautiful storytelling. Strange that Tifa and Cloud could have this comparison to Tidus and Yuna, especially with the whole Suteki da ne always being used to prop up a certain ship.

Anyway, Cloud’s checking on Tifa cause he’s totally not in love with her and wants to make sure she’s safe. You get the idea lol

I'd like to point out that Cloud doesn't – despite popular opinion – have hold of Tifa's jubblies. His arm is under them, wrapped around her ribs, which is actually a very secure hold for him since he's trying to hang onto Barret and keep hold of Tifa too. You'll notice she's not exactly paying attention to her own safety – which makes sense since Cloud literally had to haul her up when she wouldn't move. She's not in a good headspace during the end of this scene, so he's being very protective towards her.

Conclusion

Another great piece of action! I mean, does it really matter if these two are in the trenches or just hanging out? They have a synchronicity that's impossible to deny. They balance each other in pretty much every single way there is for a couple of be two halves of a whole. The FF10 comparison is a new one on me, especially since I don't look at two titles and try to see what about each one is like the other. They're both different and unique with their own charm. But, the second I caught that screen of Cloud pulling Tifa along I was immediately hit by the thought of “That's what Tidus and Yuna do”, so I couldn't not mention it.

We get a clear look at how devastated Tifa is immediately after the realisation hits that sector 7 is about to get crushed. She's just gone. Checked out. If Cloud hadn't stepped up to save her she'd have died. She wouldn't have got herself over to Barret in time and he would've died going to get her and get them back to the zip line. This is why it's so important that Cloud picks up the slack. He was strong when she needed him to be. She's strong for him later when he becomes weak. They really are two halves of one whole. 

I love that Tifa gets her own character development. She’s not just “the love interest”. Barret is basically a supporting character here, but we know he’ll get his turn in Corel and he does get his own moments to shine in Midgar, but this is cloti, so sorry dude, next time.

2016 | 2017 | 2018 | 2019

*arrives a month late*... Happy 2021 to all of you, my dear followers! *raises a glass* It seems that my tendency to finish my artwork or personal posts on time has only gotten worse over time (I blame work *lol*). Oh well, better late than never, since there are things I would still like to take with me from this extraordinary year of 2020.

It is cringeworthy that I have two huge red X-s this year. But after I'd put these puzzle pieces together, I remembered far too well what was going on in my (work) life at the time, so it's completely understandable why I didn't have the time nor the energy to draw at all during those two months.

What were those typical statistics that I wrote about again to compare the years? *goes to read last year's post*.. Oh, right! In 2020, I managed to finish 3 full digital drawings (from the months of April, July and December) as well as work on several sketches. I wrote 28,154 words worth of fanfiction (oohh, that's a lot better than previous year), plus 3,126 words in English (I dare say I wrote an equal amount in Estonian) for the prompts I got during UYLD (making the total 31,280 words, which is quite impressive!).

I finished reading the 1st Kyoshi novel in the evening of the 20th and slightly past midnight on the 21st December (barely before the holidays, but I set this goal for myself and I did it!). Am already looking forward to starting with the 2nd part some time this year. Besides that, I ordered and received all the other new Avatar books that came out (3rd part of "Ruins of the Empire", "Katara and the Pirate's Silver", "Legacy of the Fire Nation") as well as BOTH Avatar series DVD sets (I still can't believe I found these on sale on some random online store in Estonia, but these are now among my most prized possessions!).

I finally started my Avatar rewatch last January, but merely got to the Ba Sing Se episodes in Book 2 (I need to continue with "The Earth King") and now it's been 5 YEARS since I last saw Korra. Reading through my journal personal posts from last year, I know far too well that it's not about rushing through it as fast as possible. Instead, I should enjoy the ride and continue watching the episodes when I'm well rested and in the right mood. That way I'll end up feeling much more at peace.

As for the entire year as a whole? I don't think anyone in this world of ours was prepared for the way this decade would begin - with an uncontrollable pandemic, the virus of which is randomly attacking and threatening to wipe out the weakest amongst us. If any of you (or even if you know someone who) have lost a loved one to this plague, there is not much else I can offer but my sincerest condolences! Me, my family, friends and colleagues seem to have managed to avoid catching it so far. *spits 3 x over her shoulder*

I had such high hopes for this year in so many ways. Event-wise I was looking forward to watching the Eurovision Song Contest in May (where Uku Suviste was supposed to represent Estonia for the 1st time ever after so many unfortunate failures to get selected as the winner of our local competition), the European Football Championships in June (asking my colleagues which countries they support, perhaps make fun bets / guesses with them to see whose team would win the matches), the Tokyo Olympic Games in July-August, the President of Estonia (Mrs. Kersti Kaljulaid) coming to visit my hometown to celebrate our Victory Day by taking part in the parade together with the Defence Forces (after 15 years *sigh*)...

I will always remember my last big event, which took place when life used to be "normal", so to say. It was the 102nd anniversary of Estonia on the 24th of February, when I took part of all the most important celebrations in Tallinn on our Independence Day, FULL-TIME (whenever I scroll through my Facebook timeline, I see the photos I uploaded of that day, my heart melts and I smile fondly). But the day after that.. utter hell broke loose. We had our first infected person in the country.

I will also remember the last day I went to work in "normal" conditions. Friday, the 13th of March (typically my lucky day-number combination): I missed the tram I wanted to get on in the morning, at work my team received great news that one of our colleague's family had grown bigger by a new tiny member the day before, we had our last team lunch together, we discussed the safety measures that we should take and joked about what might happen next week, I took the bus home instead of the tram (as the tram's route came from the airport and that place was considered to be more dangerous and with a higher risk of catching this virus).. It was another 2.5 weeks later by then (since the 25th of February) - Estonia (along with the rest of Europe) went into full lockdown.

The beginning was frightening and people were on edge, nobody really knew what to do nor what was gonna happen next. But in time, things began to shake into place and everybody developed a comfortable routine for remote work, including figuring out how to get everyday things done (such as grocery shopping). I found solace in taking photographs of various beautiful bird species, who began to fly around and serenaded me during spring, visiting the trees around my "nest" i.e. rented apartment (with a pair of them ACTUALLY building a nest in the chestnut tree right beside my window, thus turning me into a protective godmother of their chicks).

To be honest, I was awestruck by the positive / surprising aftermath of this lockdown: how the world / environment began to heal itself from the pollution that was normally caused by humans. I was taken aback by how dead silent our usually loud capital became in my neighbourhood (I could only hear trams passing by my house according to their schedules, practically no cars whatsoever, streets were empty of people.. absolute silence).

By May-June, things started to look up in Estonia (as well as the rest of Europe) and people were allowed to start travelling / moving around more freely. During my vacation in July, I managed to go to my last (open air) event (for the rest of the year) under these new "corona" conditions and ended up having a blast at the Open Farm Days in my home county for the first time.

Our country's shining moment came during the first week of September, when we hosted the first ever Rally Estonia of the World Rally Championship (WRC), where our very own Ott Tänak and Martin Järveoja won. The event was so well organized and successful that nobody caught the virus nor did the spectators / participants spread it to others, which surely must've helped in ensuring us a spot in the WRC calendar for 2021 as well.

The remainder of the year was rather dull, with the exception of the US Presidential elections in November, when we were all holding our breaths that Joe Biden would win (congratulations, my American friends!). This eventually led to the painful downfall of THE WORST government the Republic of Estonia has ever had, and to the rise of our first female Prime Minister, Kaja Kallas (both happening in January 2021, I couldn't believe it all spiralled so soon, ha-ha!).

Anyways, during the last 4 months, work was very stressful and driving me nuts, so badly that when I eventually went on vacation before Christmas, I had a slight anxiety disorder that wouldn't let me relax for several days (luckily it went away just as quickly once I began to take it easy and managed to get some proper rest / sleep).

In hindsight, I kind of get this weird feeling as if I saw this whole thing coming, given how actively I was living my life throughout 2019. My final year of the 2010's was so full of important events and personal achievements. It's almost as if something mysterious inside was driving me, telling me to visit all the places and do all the things I wanted to do, cause I wouldn't have this sort of a chance again for a very long time.

This must be the main reason why I am thankful for 2020 for going the way it did. Sure, I'm disappointed that a lot of events were cancelled, that so many people have had to leave this world so soon due to this unpredictable disease.. But I think there are so many lessons to take from what came out of all of this. I believe the world needed some sort of a restart or break, given in what direction we were headed (politically, economically, environmentally, socially etc.). I'm just sorry it's had to come with such a high price of innocent lives.

I have even higher hopes for 2021, given how amazingly January has already passed for me and my country, and what is to come in my hometown in February. Let's take the lessons learned from 2020 with us and keep on heading back towards the "normal" lifestyle we used to know. Except this time, let's improve our ways, put all the hatred behind us, be more considerate, keep a distance, stay safe, but still try to make the world a better place for everyone.
