megan thee stallion is the perfect example of unbothered energy. nicki has repeatedly vagueposted about her, gone on unhinged rants about her, gone so far as to mention her dead mother (such a classless low blow), threatened her on live, and has now released the tackiest diss track in history. and what has megan done? literally nothing. she straight up ignored her, aside from that one ig story where she posted herself laughing (which was perfect btw). she is the epitome of “i will not dignify that w a response.” i love it.

I’ve said before that my mom, while pretty okay with queer stuff overall, sometimes has trouble grasping that straight actors can play non-straight characters. And seeing her go through this with David Tennant as Crowley has sure been something
I think the funniest thing my mom ever said in her scandalization that David Tennant was playing (I know not technically but in her mind) a gay man was when I told her Crowley was in love with Aziraphale and she straight up responded
“No that can’t be true! Crowley did things with women that proved he was straight!”
And I am still. Trying to solve the mystery of what the fuck she meant by that because I can only remember Crowley having three meaningful interactions with women in the show
One he put in a catatonic trance
One he hit with his car
One was possessed by Aziraphale

I’m one of those people who will double down on an m/f pairing when I realise that the female character is being ignored or degraded by the fandom because she’s ‘in the way’ for a gay ship involving a white boy (especially when she’s black or brown) and I think I’d just like that on the record

Can we please listen to transmascs when we talk about the discrimination we face instead of randomly bringing up linguistics and radfem “well women always have it worse” shit?

Ok wait I’m not done with this. Gender in Malevolent is driving me insane.
The way that women in the narrative are so absent, that the hole is so huge you can’t help but stare into it. And I do think a lot of the gender stuff is unintentional, it’s just that the way it’s unfolding fascinates me….
I actually stopped watching the show for a full year after episode 31…. The way Arthur talked about Bella’s death upset me in a way the other visceral horror didn’t. He didn’t resent Bella, he didn’t really…. Feel anything super deep about her. He got stuck with her, she was better than him, she was an equal to him but her life and death didn’t affect him the way every other loss in his life did. He didn’t want a wife, and in the end that’s all he saw her as….
Kind of insane how he finally shows some sort of emotion for Bella in the name of mutual rebellion, she didn’t like what her dad stood for either. Arthur thought he was making a sacrifice for her and Faroe by marrying her…. But she didn’t want it either. Arthur was honour bound she was actually literally trapped. She made the sacrifice.
Everything about Bella makes me so mad. I hateeee the dead wife trope. I feel like a type of subversion was attempted but idk. When I think of this situation from her perspective it becomes a much scarier horror podcast, lol. We all know Arthur Lester is a mess, his flaws make the show. But for this one. Arty when I get u…
I actually thought Bella was gonna turn out to be a figure like Anna Stanzyck when I first started listening. Idk how to elaborate.

when i was in elementary school, girls had to wear jumper dresses or skorts (skirts with the built in soft shorts) and like.. this did not bother me personally in the least. even once they dropped that rule a couple years later i still only wore the jumpers and skorts. but my best friend at that age was miserable. she hated dresses and hated skirts and hated that she couldn’t dress like the boys got to and even though i, personally, could not comprehend why anyone would want to wear khakis (famously the most evil fabric known to man) when they could wear a perfectly comfortable skort, i could still commiserate and understand that it was unfair that she couldn’t wear shorts like the boys. it was still a shit rule, even if i, personally, did not feel restricted by it and didn’t change my behavior once the rules were loosened.
so when i see women who are like "who cares that patriarchal femininity is oppressive and women are required to comply or face consequences — this doesn’t matter because i, personally, do not long for the alternative choices which are withheld from me" i’m like girl i could grasp this at age seven. c’mon now.

did anyone else deny so hard that they wanted to be masculine/liked men bc it was/is so frowned upon in the queer community? bc I did
Maybe it’s bc the queer community can be so violently against masculinity or it was the “hate all men” thing that I swear was huge in like 2021 (I didn’t have tiktok at the time I lived of off gay tiktok compilations) but felt like I had to like women or be feminine in some way when I reality i’m a gay transmasc who can’t even stand to wear a skirt because I don’t want to be misgendered (even though I want to). I don’t know why or if this was just a me trying to belong moment.
I would go through different labels like Bi or Omni but I would always say I had a huge preference for women. I would never admit any attraction to men or mascs but in secret I was binge reading gay smut on wattpad
I can’t really fully explain why I was like this. Thankfully i’ve grown out of it but the fact that the queer community can be so surprisingly toxic to anyone masculine was probably a factor
