I apologize if this is weird or if this is against rules cause I’m not sure if this goes against the ED rule, but that starving fic with Miguel got me wondering on scenarios where his psychological/physical torture turns sour and ends up going in a direction he did not intend. I thought of a scenario where the reader used to be a spider person too, and like Miguel, she too has some biological mutations from her spider bite.

I considered the possibility of the reader ending up wanting to EAT Miguel, as a potential side effect of him starving her (as I interpreted that as him wanting to associate food/comfort with his image so she can rely and need him more) and her spider side just seeing her “mate” as a perfect source of nutrients.

It doesn’t help that another reason female spiders resort to cannibalism is because of stress and aggression, which the reader is obviously experiencing at the time. It doesn’t help how feral she kinda got with her food and I’m sure the experience of being purposely starved can potentially make her snap. Worse case scenario, she tries to tear a chunk out of him after sex (cause y’know, female spiders will also eat their own mates after mating for their own survival).

A.k.a, Miguel fucked around and found out and now as to deal with a darling who is so traumatized over him starving her, that she is one stomach growl away from sinking her teeth into his neck.

STOP RIGHT NOW THIS IS SUCH A GOOD IDEA ANON……. that makes so much sense—she’d probably try to eat him when he tries to put her back into her restraints or when he tells her she can’t have anymore food since aggression=cannibalism

Lots and lots of thoughts and theories on Hades 2 so far. My Greek geek is overflowing and I have no where else to hyperfixate so here you go. Apologies in advanced and I’m so excited! (and will def be disappointed by the theories that don’t come true but that’s just the life)

First off, I definitely think Melinoë came after Zagreus reunited their parents and the sequel is set eons after. Time and the development process works different for gods so it could def be plausible. I’ve seen people saying she’s the older sis or that she’s been a secret the whole time, and while those are fun to think about, I don’t think there’s any way that’s gonna be the case here.

People call her Mel the same way they called Zagreus Zag.

Zag was STOKED to be a big bro and Mel loves him (even though she groans when he bear hugs her).

Persephone and Hades being relationship goals and they better keep them being lovey to each other and their kids. I’ll be so disappointed if they try to make it “edgy” by giving her a bad upbringing or having her been abandoned. Give me all the healthy relationship representations!

And of course, an updated portrait! Maybe as like a locket or picture frame in her bedroom at Hecate’s since we won’t be in the actual house.

I just really really want to see Mel loving her family. I hope she’s awkward and kind, but kick-ass and ready to kill for those she loves.

One of Hecate’s main stories is how she witnessed Persephone be stolen and helped Demeter search for her. I like to think that with the revised “kidnapping” story that the game does, this will also be revised to reflect Hecate and Pers being buds. Maybe she thought Pers got stolen and then helped her out when she realized her friend had fallen in love. Maybe she even helped construct Persephone’s home on Earth so she was hidden from everyone?

There is this blurb in the description referencing her affiliation with the Underworld, so hopefully that’s what they’re going to talk about.

Either way, Aunt Hecate.

It does look like in the trailer Mel calls her (or someone, I assume it’s Hecate) “Headmistress”, so I guess she’s maybe at a boarding school for witches? Idk how I feel about that, but again as long as she was raised with her awesome parents and bro, that’s all I care about for her backstory lol.

I mean, it could just be that Hecate is training her, similar to how Zag calls him “Master” Achilles because he was his teacher. But the “head” mistress part heavily implies that there’s going to be more mistress teachers, so that’s why I’m banking on a boarding school.

Also hope they reference Mel’s nightmare affiliations as well instead of just leaning in on the witchcraft stuff. It feels very heavy on the witchy stuff so far and the only thing that’s really referencing that part of her is the arm and leg (I’m guessing). I just hope they make this a big part of her personal journey since she is the “bringer of nightmares and madness”.

Would love to see her constantly fighting with this aspect of herself. Have her be sweet and kind and just wants to do good in the world and everything she touches turning into madness. I wanna see her fight to figure out how to flip this “curse” of hers around.

With that, it’d be neat to see like the Oneiroi and Morpheus, or other dream/nightmare related characters.

A dream realm would be sick!

I feel like it’s going to be similar in story mode to Zag’s where we’re just dropped into Mel’s story after it’s already started. Either the issue with Chronos and Hades happened after she started her school with Hecate, or she’s at the school as a result of.

If they don’t do this^, I’ll be surprised but not disappointed. I just can’t see them putting us through a backstory/training storyline. I feel like one of the cooler parts of Hades is the fact that you just drop in and slowly start to figure out what’s going on.

Aunt Nyx. Or at least some reference to everything she’s done for the fam.

GAIA (she could be like the Chaos equivalent)

Give me Mel descending into the Earth, into Gaia’s realm for some treacherous boons. It would be cool to show her having a real conflict with how she feels about her involvement in both using Chronos to kill his father Uranus, and then “helping” Rhea and Zeus kill Chronos. But now helping Mel because she’s her great-great-granddaughter (or triple great, depending on how they handle that incest bucket) and also knowing her son is cray.

Moons used in the same vain as Nyx’s Darkness, or something that is a call to Hecate’s three moon symbolism. I see that a lot of her design already has some references to moons paired with the sickle so that’s already pretty cool.

Same with like herbs/potions or stuff to collect for spells or levels up. It looks like there’s going to be a “magick” element to restore.

Hecate’s black dogs. Give me all the floofers.

And of course Cerberus being on guard as she gets to the gates of Styx. And I’d be down with him being a cuddle monster just like with Zag. (this will also depend on the storyline of the underworld and house and how Cerbs has been effected by Chronos, but a girl can dream of her giant three headed Clifford making a reappearance)

I do see the giant frog (her familiar, maybe?) and Mel giving it cuddles in the trailer. From the looks of it, that seems like her bedroom, so that’ll be interesting.

And since I consider this a direct-ish sequel, the Olympus family members will all be backing her up (which the game description does imply it as well). Maybe we’ll see some repeats for boons, but I kind of hope we get some new people and just some references to the OGs or special guest appearances.

That being said, give me Grandma Demeter again BUT transformed into a spring or summer version to show her transformation of having her daughter back and newfound family. Give her a new look and badass boons that rep that. Don’t go lazy on me supergiant.

Since we’re getting Apollo from the OG lineup, let’s see Hestia and Hera too with some badass boons. Give me fire and peacock emblems.

Hephaestus as the Daedalus equivalent. He’s too busy to meet in person but he gives you some kick-ass weapon upgrades.

Zagreus running Hades and not being happy about it. (again, depending on the story sitch. I just love the idea of grumpy responsible Zag lol)

Or Persephone, since she is the Queen after all.

And if that’s the case, then Zag could help Mel in some way. Idk if I’d want him to be a boon exactly, because there’s others that I’d want to see before him.

Either way, I definitely don’t think Zag will still be trying to escape out while this is happening. That’s another one that’s funny to think about and make memes of, but I’ll be very disappointed if that’s actually the case. I want to see the whole Hades fam in an uproar and fighting like hell to save Hades and the Underworld.

Or if Persephone isn’t running Hades (or maybe even if she is, whatever, again just depending on the story) it’d be cool to have her be a boon giver to her daughter. Her keepsake was sick and I’d love to see how powerful her boons are!

I hope we still get new and alt weapons with references to all kinds of fighters and witches, and maybe some ancient titans. It’s already exciting to see the sickle used for ref to Chronos.

In that same vain, seeing other myth or famous story references with the weapons the same way we saw before, with like Arthur’s sword, Lucifer’s gun, Gilgamesh guns, Beowulf shield.

Also how they brought in Nemesis using her sword aspect, I hope they bring in a couple of the other Greek characters that were named in the aspects using their weapons. Like Eris, Talos, and Chiron.

It’d be cool if they incorporated Selene in there too since she’s the Moon goddess and Hecate is all about them moons. (I just have a soft spot for Selene)

Selene could also be likened to a Chaos equivalent where Mel ascends to the moon or something. I still love the Gaia idea but this could be neat too.

Or seeing some more non-dark/night gods and seeing some like super cute bubbly bright ones that are like crazy deadly. Like imagine Iris, goddess of the rainbow, giving you crazy destructive boons to kill your enemies!

Also give me some more famous witches and enchantresses who help Mel out, or maybe who she has to fight, like Circe, Medea, Calypso.

It does look like in one of the screen shots there’s some odd looking creatures in the (what I’m guessing is) witch boarding school. So maybe it is related to Circe?

I hope Nemesis is used in a similar way as Meg (or even Thanatos kinda), where like maybe they’re fighting but over time they end up growing on them. Gotta love enemies to lover!

Same with Moros. And please have him bitch (but also idolize) about his more popular big bro Thanatos lol.

Speaking of Moros, in the trailer it looks like theres a super long scroll next to him and he says “there’s an opportunity for you”. So I wonder if he’s going to be like a Charon equivalent where you buy things from him or something like that.

It would also be cool to have some friendly Titans as side characters as she makes her way down, like maybe Prometheus or Atlas.

Some more heroes like Atalanta (give me a female heroine I beg you), Jason, Perseus, Bellerophon.

There does look like there’s a handsome unnamed character in the lineup that wasn’t in the trailer, and he’s exuding loads of hero pompousness lol so that’s my guess. Just not sure which he’ll be, prob Jason or Perseus if I were a betting gal. He looks too posh to be Hercules.

Or some hero-adjacent people like Hippolyta (Amazon Queen), Helena (of Troy), Cassandra (cursed prophet), Medusa, or Pandora who are pissed with what happened to them or want revenge. Idk, might be far fetched for this but you love to see it lol. (also didn’t intend for all those examples to be girls, but it’s funny how that ends up, ain’t it?)

Other mythical creatures that might be more earth related like cyclops, giants, Pegasus, chimera, sirens, griffins, etc.

I’ll be interested to see how they incorporate the time aspect with Chronos. I wonder if it’ll be like a time loop and that’s how they emulate the “dying” aspect from the first game. I hope there’s some time related items.

Please for the love of the gods, make dick jokes about Chronos castrating his father and the variation in myth of how Zeus then did it to Chronos. Like, I get it if it’s too cringe to outright talk about, but if they don’t make SOME reference to either, I’m calling cowards.

An equivalent to the fishing feature, maybe planting seeds or something dream related. Just give something cute and fun again.

Also having some crazy ideas of even another sequel. Especially if this one ends up being on Earth or focusing on the middle plane and getting to the underworld, how awesome would it be for one day having like another sequel where you actually get to fight through Olympus. Like maybe a backstory for Hades would be cool, of how they rose to power and he made it all the way to Mount Olympus just to draw the short stick and get sent back down.

It’s official, I think season two of The Afterparty has been better than season one. Everyone is ludicrously sketchy, the genre bends are so over the top and fun, and I can feel a truly chaotic finale coming as they attempt to wrap up all the loose ends introduced throughout the season that have nothing to do with the murder.

Oooooooooh piping hot take anon! And I don’t even mean that in a bad way!

I have to say, I do love the genre bends quite a bit this season and am REALLY glad they didn’t just repeat stuff (aside from romcom, but let’s be real, romcom sequel is def it’s own genre 😂).

I do REALLY love the first season bc that cast was phenomenal. Not to say this season isn’t as well but man. Last season was stacked! And then Eugene “Xavier” Duckworth means SO MUCH TO ME it’s insane, LOL!

I absolutely believe the wrap up is gonna be so incredibly wild, and I’m almost expecting something completely out of left just bc Lord & Miller wanna mess with us. 😂

Idk, I think they’re abt neck and neck for me, but I cannot blame you for making this statement. This is a strong follow-up to what was already pretty amazing television. I sincerely hope we get more.

Friday the 13th/Thank god it’s Friday- The song absolutely FUCKS its so good I VERY recommend it, it mainly references the beginning part of the movie but it sounds like a basic campfire story but with metal music it’s awesome <3 The *movie* wasn’t bad, the first one wasn’t as great as I was expecting but it was super fun and I def am gonna watch the sequels

Rainy day/Resident evil- LOVE THESE the song is 100% less metal and more like alternative?? Pop rock?? but it’s still amazing the music video also slaps, but the MOVIES!!!! I just watched the second one (it’s been a while since I watched the first lmao) but the second one is a total cheesy action/zombie movie and is one of the only zombie movies I’ve ever enjoyed like GENUINELY and the GAMESS I’ve only played the first one (I haven’t finished yet </3) and watched some clips from the later ones but they freaky /pos HIGHLY HIGHLY recommend the song/franchise

Hip to be scared/American psycho- This was the first Ice Nine Kills song I’ve ever listened to and it’s STILL my favorite it’s soso theatrical and fun and there are so many movie references in the song it’s crazyy and the live performance clips look so fun jsbsj

god idk; i think i rly like writing banter and like bickering between characters bc it’s kinda easy (it’s literally just me letting my brain run) but exposition and like narrative is also rly fun esp when i get to experiment with different characters points of view and voices (esp when i write baz and simon bc they’re in first person)

Ahh anon this made me so happy! I adore these two in all their messed up glory, and I def have some recs! These are gonna be a few of the ones I wrote myself, and a few favourites that others have written!

(Obvious warning for cousins being romantically or sexually involved in all of these)

Before the individual recs I'd like to link to this collection by @careofmagicalshippers with 5 sirius/narcissa drabbles, two of them written by me and three of them written by Coffee_Addict_Multishipper who I love.

Starting with the two fics that I read which got me into this ship in the very first place:

Once Upon A Dream by Elfflame: Explicit, 5200 words. Sirius sneaks into a masquerade ball at Malfoy Manor, he and Narcissa flirt anonymously while thinking they might recognise the other person, and he ends up actually knocking her up. It's the first fic I read of them, it holds a special place in my heart.

Nothing Like the Real Thing by Beren: Explicit, 2900 words. Lily and Narcissa have an arrangement where one polyjuices into someone else to live out some fantasies together. Narcissa requests her to change into Sirius, and ends up meeting the real Sirius instead and sleeps with him. Looking back, a little strange, but it deserves a mention bc damn I was obsessed with this.

A few fics taken from my bookmarks:

A Thousand Silhouettes by Elle_Blessing: Teen, 3100 words. If I recall correctly, their ages are switched up, but I remember being fascinated by their dynamic here. It's an overview of their relationship throughout time, with songs!

Sirius Black's Highland Fling by MarshmallowMcgonagall: Explicit, 6300 words. This is set post second war (which I love and don't see that often for these two), Sirius needs a date to a muggle gala and gets Narcissa to go along. He wears a kilt, she wears golden everything, they fuck semi-publically. It's all you can ask for.

Black and Gold also by Marshmallowmcgonagall: Explicit, 2000 words. Sirius shows up at Narcissa's house when she's meant to go to Malfoy Manor, he's been cursed similar to Echo in the myth of Narcissus and Echo, and the solution to that is of course to kiss Narcissa. I love it, it's funny and hot and sweet, perfect.

Your Cigarette Smell by Lumosatnight: Explicit, 9700 words. Warning for MCD! It starts during the first war and ends during the second, painfully canon compliant in that way. Their relationship is so hot and so toxic and it's just perfect. They hate each other, they love each other, they can't stay away from each other, and it can never be more than weekly meetings.

Some fics I have written myself

The Cure to Marital Problems: Explicit, 5500 words. Narcissa's in the Leaky being down about her marriage, Sirius mocks her for it, some teasing ensues and then fuck there's tension. First time they sleep together (set during the first war).

I've Got You: Teen, 19,000 words. I wrote this for @hptransfest and it's probably the healthiest Sirius/Narcissa I've ever written. It's a soulmate AU with miscommunication due to her being trans, with a semi happy ending?? It's the longest oneshot I ever wrote so for that reason I'm proud of it lmao.

Second Chances: Teen, 6500 words. This is one of the first fics I ever wrote for them, written for @siriusblackfest in 2019. Set during the second war, Narcissa starts spying to protect Draco and Sirius is the person she has to work with.

He Wants Us Both: Explicit, 5800 words. Not strictly Sirius/Narcissa, but it's them with Remus thrown into the mix so I'm still counting it. I wrote it for @remuslupinfest and am currently working on a sequel for another fest! Narcissa has switched sides during the first war and is staying with Remus for the time being, they bond over their mutual attraction to Sirius. Eventually a threesome happens.

And then a few that I haven't read yet

(cause I am honestly the worst person when it comes to keeping up with fics) but that I've marked for later on AO3 and look interesting to me! Not gonna give a summary bc that's in the link and obviously I haven't read them, so it's just the link and the rating here!

I had this really good idea for a Mysterio fic that was not FFH but instead focused on Beck bringing back to life Richard and Mary Parker to mess with Peter (sep it was just like illusions) and it was similar to the LMD comic storyline. It never found itself panning out but I wrote large sections of it that I REALLY liked. And then, I was thinking about other ways to incorporate a story about Peter’s parents and the Goblin Heir storyline from the comics kept nudging me and I realized I can use some of the scenes I wrote before into this one. And then it had a life of it’s own and coming in at 81,598 it’s the longest fanfic I’ve ever written. I’m so proud of it and I love how it turned out, so much I’m currently writing a sequel. I loved using Norman Osborn and I’m so happy how he turned out within the story. There were several cut plotlines that would have taken this thing over the edge, so I’m glad they are gonna end up in a sequel.

The Hero Of Our Own Story

So I love reading tropes and Homeless/Abused Peter Parker has always been one of my favorites. I also like writing more realistic, even within a comic book type universe so I wanted to write something that hit the trope but didn’t necessarily go along with the normal flow of things. I didn’t think this would be my most popular fic or get nominated for an award but I’m so happy it was well received. Especially since I made Tony a bit of a jerk at first I think it’s warranted for the story I’m telling.

It Started With A Headache and Ended With the Multiverse

So, listen, I knew NWH was gonna be multiverse for a very long time because I read all sorts of spoilers. Once I knew it was happening I had a vague dream about the plot that ended up being this fic and I told my husband about it offhandedly. He was like YOU NEED TO WRITE THIS! And I laughed it off because it seemed like way too big of a thing. And then like, the next day, this thing was writing itself. I had SO MUCH FUN picking universes to jump into to. Like, I had a list of them and some I didn’t even get to put in! I also wrote Doctor Strange for the first time here and I loved the way he was within the story. I tried very hard to create these little multiverses that felt different from each other in both style and character, even in a very short amount of words. It was a great exercise in technique for me too! I didn’t think I’d love this fic nearly as much as I ended up liking it.

This Crooked Posture is All You’ve Ever Known

While I’ve written my fair share of fluff IronDad I really was playing around with writing something that really was more casual fluff then hard angst or long. I also really hadn’t written in Tony’s POV either, so this was a chance to explore their relationship with Tony in the lead and man do I love this fic. I think there are so many funny lines and just a lot of cute between Tony and Peter. I can’t believe this was nominated for a 2022 IronDad Creator Award since it’s not as popular as some of my other works but I’m so glad people enjoyed this!

The World Forgetting, by the World Forgot

Okay, listen, I wrote this fic by speaking it into my Google Docs file on my phone while being driven home from seeing NWH. This thing poured out of my SOUL. I was writing it in my head in the theater. I got home at like 2 am and was trying to edit the file as I was falling asleep and I love this thing. I started a “sequel” or more or less a continuation but I don’t know if I’ll finish it. I just sometimes really love when fics write themselves without asking me permission and this was def one of them.

➸ I can’t not picture this song with these two. It’s so upbeat, and fun, and all around just a warm song? So I bet Gwen sung it around August one time and he’s NEVER forgotten it. Learned (or perhaps already knew??) Italian just to sing this little jingle with them.

➸ Given that August is the first father figure, and the Kurosawa’s in general being their first experience in a ‘normal’ family, there’s a lot of things that Gwen doesn’t know. Like how to confide in a parent, or depend on one. Sure, Gwen had Cieran; but there’s a different vibe to confiding in a parent, towards confiding in a brother.

➸ They hadn’t interacted much with their parents as a child, because they were busy training the older kids. So to have someone like August just. at least ACKNOWLEDGE them, makes them kinda happy. Plus all the headpats, pats on the back, hair ruffles, etc… Add to the experience 😌

➸ SIBLINGS SIBLINGS SIBLINGS. The Kurosawa’s are about as large as their biological family, and Gwen is so used to being the youngest child. So have lots of siblings who actually acknowledge them, and actually CARE about them? Yes. Its nice to know that they’re welcome somewhere again. They still try to be the baby of the family, out of habit. They’re spoiled okay— (ARE VOLKER AND VARICK OLDER THAN GWEN? IK SHOMA IS THE SAME AGE AS THEM.)

➸ Training! August doesn’t fight back against them, much to Gwen’s dismay. They wanna see him throw a few punches at least!!! But they always appreciate the advice he gives.

➸ No matter how big they get, he’ll always be bigger than them. So they’ll always right on his shoulder/arm no matter HOW OLD they get. He’s a jungle gym now. 🙄

➸ Gwen is a vary self conscious person, and is always making sure they are doing something right, even the smallest of things. And even though they’re accepted in the home, they always insist on doing things around the house. Like sorta ‘paying rent’ if you will. And when I tell you August picks that kid up. Like a damn CAT. Manually moves them somewhere else like “Nah. You live here. You have a place here.” Gwen def cried.

➸ They try their best to open up, and ask for advice. They’re learning to depend on others, and August just SCREAMS “I’ll carry you in my arms” energy. Plus, he’s old. Gwen’s always asking him deep questions that require wise answers.

➸ Hugs. Thats it. Gwen just wants hugs from dad :’)

➸ THEY ARE HAPPY. AND. healing. :’). August makes Gwen’s acceptance of their current familial situation come a little faster. Makes them realise things like ‘not all relatives are family.’ , ‘no matter how far apart you are, you aren’t really seperated,’ and ‘sometimes families are wacky. mixed and matched.’

➸ uhhh TLDR; i want Gwen to have a happy and healthy home and that is August. They will sign the adoption papers immediately. Please.

The kengan series is a martial artz manga! Omega is the sequel to kengan ashura, set 2 yrz later iirc. I LOVE martial artz n fighting mangas, n kengan is the no.1 in the genre imo (its the most realistic one ive read) so i def recommend it if u like that sorta thing!

Kamikaze Kaitou Jeanne - Action, Adventure, Comedy, Drama, Fantasy, Mahou Shoujo, Mystery, Romance - LOOK HOW MANY GENRES IT’LL GIVE YOU! honestly i like the manga way more but this series is v important to my heart because it’s an ms with all those themes of friendship and love while also not being all happy. shame the anime cut out my favorite arc.

Kill la Kill - Action, Comedy, Ecchi - you scored this an 8 despite not watching??? anyway i think you’ll enjoy the animation of this at the very least

Made in Abyss -  Adventure, Drama, Fantasy, Horror, Mystery, Sci-Fi - THE GENRES SENKA! honestly this feels like the kinda fucked up mystery thriller i expect you to like. also horror in the more psychological way where you’re scared for the kids but not of like specific monsters jumping out at you. 

Modao Zushi - Action, Adventure, Drama, Fantasy, Mystery, Supernatural - i’m genuinely shocked you haven’t seen this, chinese animation that’s a spn mystery is right up your alley and it’s v v good

Saiki Kusuo no Ψ-nan - Comedy, Slice of Life, Supernatural - it’s so funny senka omg. also if you restart it then you can use it for tetris

Shadows House - Fantasy, Horror, Mystery, Slice of Life, Supernatural - not really horror but a fun mystery with an admittedly predictable twist but it still made me !!!!

Yuukoku no Moriarty - Mystery, Psychological - PSYCHOLOGICAL MYSTERY SENKA YOU GOTTA WATCH

Gankutsuou - Drama, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Supernatural, Thriller - tbh i didn’t love it but it has v interesting visuals which you might be into

Ling Long - Action, Drama, Horror, Mecha, Mystery, Sci-Fi, Thriller - look at those genres! this is defs on your ptw bc i reced it to you already but honestly i feel like the dystopian setting will be something you’ll have fun with, and the CG is pretty good

Prince of Stride: Alternative - Sports - is this good or am i just eternally weak for parkour animation? the world may never know

Shokugeki no Souma - Comedy, Ecchi - listen it’s basically a sports anime with how the plot is set up

Star Wars: Visions - Action, Adventure, Sci-Fi - this is 100% here for cool fight scenes. my favorite is the twins bc it’s just promare art

Since you get a lot of fic recs I was wondering if you know of any Fics where the paladins see their families after their several years in space. Like it's angsty but still wholesome at the same time.

I haven't touched Voltron in a hot minute and I'm a shameless Lance fan so this list is going to be very short and very Lance-centric. I apologize in advance.

This is literally the first fic I thought of when you asked for recs. It's short, is poignant, it will make you feel things.

Today is the day he'll see the shores of Varadero Beach, he'll receive his mother's bone-crushing hug, he'll see his big family of aunts, uncles, and cousins, and he'll see his brother who he left on bad terms with. Only...they can't know he's a Paladin of Voltron.

This was not the family reunion Lance expected.

But it was everything he needed.

This is a sequel to another fic, so reading that one in advance is probably a good idea. It's also a WIP, sadly. It is, however, excellent and worth reading if you want your heart yanked out. :D

Not quiiiite a renion fic BUT it does take place after the war and I believe it features their families in it. Def worth checking out.

Haikyuu SakuAtsu fanfic recs: series edition ;)

ALRIGHT LOVES, BUCKLE UP! IM FORCING MYSELF TO FIND MOTIVATION LOL

As I was making that cursed SakuAtsu fanfic rec post (it really is cursed, but it’ll get done eventually cause I do love the SakuAtsu too much, when tho? only god know LOL), I decided that if I’m gonna finish it, imma have to break it up. SO that’s why this is our lovely series edition post LOL. Originally, it WAS writers, tags, series, then single fics BUT I decided to scrap tags and even then I was like it’s too long..... And so, this post materialized LOL (mayhaps writers next? who knows anymore cause I certainly don’t LOL). These are ONLY some of the series that I absolutely adore, and I say some because 1) the tag is literally like 4k fics long and I was on like page 20 something and I have SO many tabs open rn for SakuAtsu, so chances are I missed one or five LOL :’((((( and 2) my ao3 account hasn’t been made yet (should’ve done this a looooooong time ago) and so I don’t have them all saved anywhere :( (these just sound like excuses LMFAO) So these are just the ones I saw and was like OOP I LOVE and then added LOL (and so they’re in no particular order hehe). I also didn’t *** any of them cause they’re all so freakin good and even if you randomly chose one, you will not be disappointed.

As per usual, pls check WARNINGS, TAGS, and SUMMARIES for series and each individual fic before reading and make sure you’re taking care of yourselves (since mental health is key!) Stay healthy loves <3

Terminal Curiosity by favspacetwink, moonlumie (E) // CHECK WARINGS, TAGS, and SUMMARIES!!! this is one of the BEST series I’ve read for this ship and even though I tend not to read WIP, IT’S WORTH IT! Please read ALL the tags before going into any of the fics in this series because there’s some real spicy stuff that may not be your cup of tea!

your highs and lows by astroeulogy (T,M,E) // this fic made me go on a roller coaster of feels from start to (tentative) finish :))) It’s great and I love it AHHHHH The progression in their relationship is just so ajfkjsf, and I just adore how Atsumu just broke(?) during that first fic and the number of double takes he did, v relatable LOL.

Different Kinds of Dysfunctional by DeathBelle (T,E) // I LOVE the entrance to this fic and how it flowed so well. I think Atsumu is characterized really well throughout this series (I could totally see Atsumu bringing the same thing up over and over again LOL), and his development was done beautifully (You just want to make me say it.,,, Kinda, yeah.). I really freakin love this series so please go ahead and read it don’t be shy hehehe.

we call everything on the ice, "love" by awkwardedgeworth (T) // I LOVE this fic omg,,, it’s in series, but it’s only two fics LOL... Anyway, Notte Stellata is one of my favorite SakuAtsu fics and I have reread it way TOO many times and the fanpage fic IS SO AMAZING (AND FUNNY ASF PLS). I really love ice skating AU’s too so this really made this ‘series’ all the more better <333333

know you better & related stories by theglitterati (T,M,E) // this is definitely one of the best relationship development series I’ve read, I love it so much! It really touches all the bases, and the progression is just SO good. It really is the fic version of the get along shirt, extended edition LOL.

flutterbird (a collection of sakuatsu one-shots) by wordstruck (T,M,E) // this series is such an easy pick up because it’s a bunch of one-shots (esp. if you’re not into smut cause there is some), BUT all of them are def worth a read. Personally, the third one, the sakusa kiyoomi listography, is my favorite (cause imma sucker for Sakusa), but that’s just personal preference hehe :)

Atsumu + Sakusa + The National = ? by isaksara (syailendra) (T,M) // this is another stand alone fic series but with AUs :D I don’t even know like most (ie. all) of the references (LMFAO), but I still read all of them LOL. Again, a personal favorite (without any references LOL) is the second one, famous angels (never come through england), it’s really funny and good and I just love it okay?

Better For Us Both by abrandnewheart (M) // (this was CP from my angst fic rec post LOL tho it is slightly edited cause istg my writing style changes every post LOL) THE MUG FIC. There is a sequel and when I saw it, it took me another week to read it cause I was like,,, am I ready to have my heart break again? No LOL. But the sequel is actually not as angst (but there’s still angst), so if you want to be like semi-broken or whatever, just read the sequel LOL (also it’s Sakusa POV HEHE). It’s so sad and it made me physically hurt every time someone even mentioned mugs afterwards (LOL why am I so dramatic but it’s the truth :///). Go ahead and hurt with me. You should read it even if you don’t like angst because you know what they say, no pain no gain :’)

parallax error: angle of inclination by min_mintobe (T) // okay so technically this ‘isn’t a series’, but it is two fic that are related, and what is that if not A SERIES :DDDDD Anyway, I really love this fic enough that I would find loopholes in my own dang post to recommend it LOL. I really love the service ace bet between Sakusa and Atsumu (I do think it is a superior headcannon (it’s hc right?)) but I also love what’s left unsaid by both in each other’s POVs hehe. If you want to go straight to Sakusa’s POV (cause their different POVs of the same fic), here it is parallax error: line of sight. You can read either first, but I recommend you read both eventually :)

to make any other mistake by honeymilktea (rosevtea) (T) // I, myself, am a very big fan of college Haikyuu (tho idk if it seems like that LOL), and this fic is very much up my alley hehe. I really like the idea that they are both TA’s and that Atsumu would totally bribe Sakusa into fake dating him as well as Sakusa wearing his brightest outfits to spite Atsumu.

How Do You Know? by awkwardedgeworth (T) // these fics are both so funny omg. The google search histories, the trial and error, and just everything in these two fics gives me so much dopamine LOL. There’s one POV for both end of the ship, though their tragedies are slightly different.

the human disaster chronicles by firtree (G,T) // is this another Atsumu gay panic fic? Yes, yes it is and I have absolutely no shame in recommending it hehe. I realllllllly like this fic and Atsumu having a break down cause Sakusa didn’t follow his routine? It is the move. Anyway, pls read this series cause like the title suggests, it really is a disaster (but at least there’s love right? LOL).

I Love You (Though it's Inadvisable) by Anubis_2701 (T) // okay the series itself is a wip (as in only one fic for now LOL), but the fic is so good, I couldn’t leave it off :))))) First, I do love a good soulmate AU and although I’m not a big fan on the body switching AUs, THIS one was SO good!!! It gets really cheesy and fluff at the end, but the beginning of this fic was just so immaculate, that we’re gonna ignore how much the ending made me want to stick my head into a hole (cause it was so FLUFF OMG).

The Germaphobe and the Asshole by metaandpotatoes (T,E) // so this series is also actually a WIP, but it’s okay I only read the first and the last one anyway cause they’re basically stand alone’s LOL. This series focuses a lot on Sakusa’s mysophobia, so if you’re not a fan of the hc, you should prolly pass hehe. TBH, my favorite is the third one, Avoidance Behavior, but that’s mainly cause I really like SunaOsa and I love the brother bond in it!

you are the cause of my euphoria by SugarHighs (T) // ajsfljksadhjkdfk is my first thoughts while reading this series cause ATSUMU WOULD. He would start posting thirst trap pics (which really reminded me of Wonho) in order to prove he was the most good looking member of MSBY. Tho, we do love the clowning of one Sakusa Kiyoomi, as done in the third fic (PLEASE NUMBER 17 AND Cheezel). Even if you can’t get yourself to read the other fics, read the third one, 5 Ways To Tell If The Person You're Dating Is The One, for the free serotonin boost plsplspls.

We do stan having microwaves and mini fridges hehe. I support the ramen endeavors but oatmeal is gross, I said what I said. Anyway, I love the tags in the second fic, so even if you don’t end up reading it, read the tags,,,, they’re funny okay?

and i press you to the pages of my heart by volchitsae (T) // I LOVE THIS ONE, teehee again the college AU makes another appearance LOL. I REALLY love this writer, and this one is so funny but cute at the same time. It’s another two POV fic, but you’ll want to read this one in order hehe. Again, the ending is so FLUFF, that my head wanted to take a visit to the underground BUT ITS OKAY.

affection and acid reflux by volchitsae (T) // so the first fic is ~angst~ but IT GETS BETTER OKAY, happy endings. HAPPY ENDINGS. Anyway, there’s some really cute Sakusa in this one (esp. when he talks to the boy at the village LOVE HIM) and a healthy amount of angst as well. I really like this fic and guess what it is? Say it with me, COLLEGE AU LOL.

how big the hourglass, how deep the sand by volchitsae (E) // did I just recommend the same writer three times in a row? Yup and I think that says something LOL (tbh I like some of their stand alone fics more tho LMFAO but that doesn’t mean these series are bad nononono not at ALL (this sounded sarcastic but that was not the intention LOL)). This one is ~magical~ (v literally) and has some kinky stuff (holy water ftw) in it, so tread carefully :) I would make sure to read the tags before each one because it gets kinda steamy LOL.

^^ if I had to choose between these three, I liked and i press you to the pages of my heart the most just cause the plot was my type LOL. But they’re all good hehe.

a study on you(th) and reverie by sieges (G,T) // this series is such a sad series :( The first two are the only SakuAtsu but the third one is an angst Osamu one so there’s that LOL (and ofc the fourth one is KuniYama (is that their ship name idk)) But the first one is a moving on fic (which I liked) and the second is like basically a fake break up (which I liked more LOL) and both have some nice shares of angst and fluff so choose your battles wisely (or just read both LOL).

Burden of Blame by DeathBelle (E) // CHECK WARINGS, TAGS, and SUMMARIES!!! ah yes, the mafia fic LOL. I REALLY LOVE THIS FIC. I felt so bad for Atsumu the entire fic and yes it is, ATSUMU BEST BOY time. Did I really just recommend this series AGAIN for the THIRD TIME in THREE SEPARATE POSTS? Apparently LMFAO I didn’t even know TBH LOL. I just really like this one,,,,,, okay? But pls Atsumu just here for the ride man cause he BEST BOY. Anyway, if you want to see my other comments of this fic that I forgot I did links here :D (links and here are two separate links to two separate posts LOL).

OKAY so that’s most of the series that I saw and was like gotta put this here LOL. And do you see how long this is (I know I’m missing so many series I like istg when I find them later imma cry or just make another post LOL).... Can you imagine how long my actual fic fic one is LOL (i’m not kidding tho it’s so long I might just do fics with their actual summaries instead of adding my invalid, piss poor reviews :/). Ugh the more I think about it, the more I lose motivation to finish LMFAO, so imma go be no thoughts head empty, but I hope you enjoyed reading these series! I love SakuAtsu SO much, so there’s lots more to come (is that good or bad idek).
