Because no, I don't fkn know shit about any death threats towards Wenclairs or the author unless you're talking about this weirdo. It's a bit extreme to want death upon someone, no matter how goddamn annoying they are (they have to be Evil™ too, and I don't think Mejia is Evil™...some of the Wenclairs are evil, sure...but it's Youthful Evil™, a selfish kind of evil that often fades with maturity).

Perhaps I might've said 'on sight' before too? Because I'm not afraid to open my mouth towards someone face to fucking face who I think did wrong/did something or someone dirty. I am a terror in person if provoked.

I have, actually, been avoiding anything novelization since it pisses me off to think about. Someone sends me shit about it in my inbox and I'll yap about it. Like right now.

In any case, I hope no one is trying to accuse me of sending death threats because gurls, if that's the case...get a fkn life 💀 I have enough anxiety over finishing my numerous writings to put the energy into terrorizing a bunch of idiots online. Shin swore he was hallucinating.

His eyes kept darting between the cash register and the face of the customer that recently entered the shop. A new face — well, to shop it was, but not to him.

Lu must have spiked his drink with something strong. Or one of Sakamoto's more violent thoughts of killing him had messed with his head.

Because there was no way it was you that was going through the instant ramen isle, perfectly alive and well.

The last Shin had heard of you, it was a death notification.

You had worked for a different organization, but you and Shin had collaborated often on various missions. Shin had grown used to your unorthodox style to the point that it had gotten hard to work with anyone else. You were recklessly calculated, taking risks that made it seem like you didn't expect to make it out alive, but you always did.

Which was why it came as a shock when he saw your face one day on the board his organization put up for hitmen that had been killed in action, almost three years ago.

He didn't exactly know what to feel about it. If Shin was feeling bold enough, he would probably consider you a friend. Well, you were the closest he had to one, but that didn't really mean much. You were the only one who tolerated him enough to invite him to the bar after work, where you yapped about your life (he knew that you were lying about most of it — but he could never really find out the truth. Of all the minds he had ever read, it was hard to understand yours). When Shin was bored in between assignments, he'd find himself texting your number, and you'd talk about the stupidest things.

It didn't take long for his face to start burning every time you smiled at him, or his heart to start racing when his thoughts somehow always end up about you. Of course, he put his feelings aside — being anything other than professional as a hitman was dangerous.

He couldn't really believe that you had died. After everything the both of you had been through together, it almost seemed like your heart just refused to stop beating, but death was a common thing in this line of business. The news had hit him like a freight train, but he knew that dwelling on it would make the grief even worse. All he could do was move on and make sure that he didn't meet the same fate.

That's why he felt like his brain was going to explode at the present moment.

Why was he the only one in the shop? Out of all the times Lu had to go to the bathroom and Mr. Sakamoto stayed outside to eat his ramen and read his newspaper, it had to be now!

Shin locked his eyes to the back of your head, mentally adjusting his psychic ability to try and tune in to the frequency of your thoughts, but he found himself struggling.

No way was it actually you.

It must be a trick of the light. Maybe the customer just coincidentally looked like you and had a difficult mind to read. After all, doppelgangers are a real thing (Shin didn't really believe that, though). Or maybe you looked common. (You most certainly didn't, especially not in Shin's eyes.)

When you — the customer — finally picked out an instant ramen cup to buy, you faced Shin properly, and Shin swore his brain actually froze.

It was you. It had to be you.

Or was he just hallucinating the flash of familiarity in your eyes?

"W-Welcome to Sakamoto's," Shin stuttered out, finally remembering that regardless if it was actually you, he had a job to do. "Is this all you'll be having?"

You — the customer, goddammit — nodded, giving Shin a polite smile that made Shin feel dizzy. "Yes. Thank you."

If it was actually you, why weren't you properly acknowledging him?!

"That'll be 150 yen," he said, blinking furiously to get himself to focus.

By the time he handed you your change and bagged your ramen, Shin still didn't have the confidence to properly talk to you until you were halfway through the sliding doors.

"Wait!"

You paused immediately, looking over your shoulder with a curious look. "Did I forget something?" You asked.

Shin shook his head. "I just wanted to ask, uh- what's your name?"

The customer offered him another smile. He never thought he would see that smile again.

Just when he was actually convinced that it was you, the "stranger" answered his question.

"It's Larry."

Shin blinked once. Then twice.

"Huh?" The surprised sound escaped him before he could stop it.

Your persona fell as you laughed out loud, a sound that shook your entire body as you clutched your stomach. You stepped back inside the shop to let the doors close behind you and you laughed at Shin's misery.

"What's going on?" At this point, Shin didn't really know what to believe anymore.

"I'm — I'm sorry," you gasped, wiping a stray tear from your eye. "For a psychic, you're just — you're still so easy to tease, Shin."

Shin's shoulders dropped, along with his jaw as he stared at you with wide eyes. "It's actually you?" He uttered your name like a prayer.

You gave him a smile, a genuine one this time. "Long time no see, partner. How 'bout we catch up outside over ramen? I already asked Mr. Taro if I could snatch you for the rest of your shift."

Yeah, Shin's brain is probably broken at this point.

Shin still had trouble processing what you just told him. 

“Wait, wait,” Shin put his hands up, as if that could help make understanding easier. “So you’re saying that you faked your death.”

“Yep.”

“For three years.”

“Mhm.”

“So you can live out retirement in peace?”

You shrugged, eating another bite of your ramen. “That’s pretty much it. The assassin life gave a lot of money, but in the long run… it does more harm than good.”

You didn’t have to dive into the specifics for Shin to understand. He knew, better than anyone, the toll that being a hitman can take on a person. It removes the lightness from them, making them see the world in nothing but shadows. 

The haunted look in your eyes was still there, but it was much less apparent now. He could relate; ever since he quit being a hitman to work for Mr. Sakamoto, he’s felt much lighter than he’s ever felt in years. 

However, the psychic still had questions. 

“I thought you were dead for real,” Shin pointed out, a quiet chuckle escaping him, but it wasn’t that humorous. “It was hard to believe, but I eventually got used to the idea that I would never see you again.”

You sighed, slumping back in your chair. It was a familiar sight; you always sat the same way whenever you and Shin would hang out together in your usual seats in a crappy bar. “I wanted to tell you, I really did, but I wanted to detach myself from that life completely.”

“And that included me.” It wasn’t said out loud, but Shin understood the message.

You frowned in slight guilt. “You weren’t part of the bad things during my life as a hitman; quite the opposite, actually. But…”

You looked out onto the setting sun, the light hitting your face and basking you in the last rays of its warmth. “But I knew that if I told you, it would make leaving harder than it had to be.”

Shin stared at you. You, alive and well, the harsh lines of a life of blood and death softened on your face and on the corners of your eyes. 

Although Shin always thought you looked beautiful, he could see that you looked best as an ordinary civilian, whose biggest concerns was not how to eliminate their next target, but something simple, like what they would have for dinner, or what movie to watch tonight. 

Retirement suited you, even if you were a little too young for that. 

"So," you cleared your throat, grabbing your cup to drink the soup. "How about you, how have you been?"

"Uh..." Compared to your life, his wasn't that interesting. You know, except for the fact that he spontaneously decided to retire as well, that Mr. Sakamoto basically adopted him and Lu Shaotang, and that there was an active bounty on his boss' head. "I've... never been better, actually."

You grinned knowingly. "Retirement is much more fun than killing people for a living, right?"

Shin offered you a meek smile. "Yeah, I guess so. I get why you'd go to such lengths to leave it all behind."

"Exactly," you nodded, downing the rest of your soup, and laughing when Shin wrinkled your nose at the food you willingly chose to consume.

"Nonetheless,” you hummed, “I’m glad our paths crossed again. In all honesty, I kinda missed you, partner.”

Shin didn't know how to take that. You, missing him? How... weird.

The thought of being missed by you made his heart jump a little in his chest, but it wasn't an unpleasant feeling at all.

"I... missed you too," Shin replied, mentally cursing at himself for sounding so awkward.

But you didn't comment on it. You just smiled.

"Now," you clapped your hands together, standing up. "It's getting late, and I still got some errands to run, so I should be going. I'll pass by when I'm free."

Shin jolted out of his seat. Had that much time really passed by? It felt like it had only been a few minutes since you had seen each other again, and frankly, he didn't want to part ways so quickly.

"Or," you glanced at him, your smile turning teasing as you tossed your used cup over your shoulder. Without even having to look, it landed inside the trash can behind you. "You could, you know, ask me out this time."

Shin paused, his face suddenly burning up in a bright shade of red. "W- What do you mean 'this time'?!"

You raised your hands up mockingly. "Oh I'm sorry, were you the one who asked to hang out at the bar after every other mission? Or the one who would drag you to the park, or the rooftop of the old organization, or —"

"Okay, okay!" Shin cut you off loudly, laughing. "Fine. Let's meet up for coffee next time. My treat."

You gave him another soft smile, on that made him weak in the knees. "Alright. I'll hold you to it, Asakura. See you then."

You waved goodbye, and Shin didn't go back inside the store until he saw you turn a corner, leaving his sight.

He let out a great sigh, looking up at the few stars that sprinkled the sky.

Coffee next time, huh?

He let out a chuckle, smiling as he went through the sliding doors, Sakamoto telling him through his thoughts that they should close up soon.

Kobylu Week Day 1: Roleswap

LAST FEW MINUTES OF THE DAY SHUSSSSH

Okay silly lore I thought of since I'm free now-

The only ones swapped are Koby and Luffy, and I also adore the Rocks D. Koby AUs so of course I alluded to that lmao, and basically Luffy is just the most unhinged Marine you've ever fucking seen 💀

Rumor that Xebec had a descendant got out a while before Koby was born, around the time Roger was executed. Koby was soon involuntarily abandoned after he was born, since his parents got found out and killed by Marines. He was taken into the care of a communication line of fishermen, who found out Koby's bloodline pretty quickly, but decided to keep it a secret. He was passed island to island to keep his existence a secret (oh hey sorta like Luffy lol), but he was still kidnapped by Alvida at 14. However, Koby was aware of his lineage and was already trained in how to defend himself, and he managed to escape only after a few weeks, albeit badly injured. By pure coincidence, he ran into Red-Haired Shanks, who decided to give Koby some medical attention before dropping him off someplace. In the time they knew each other, Shanks decided to give Koby -instead of his whole hat- the red ribbon attached to his strawhat to Koby. Koby still wears the ribbon as a bandana to this day.

Luffy never met Shanks in this AU, and Garp drilled Marine ideology into his grandson's head harsher than ever, but it of course didn't stick right, and Luffy interprets it in bizarre ways. Luffy is still extremely motivated to find the One Piece, but not to become the King of the Pirates. He just wants to out of spite and boredom.

Luffy and Koby met during the timeskip, about a year after Ace had been wrongly executed. In that time, Koby had become a prominant pirate from both his name and his grandfather's. People assumed he was after the One Piece as well, and they weren't wrong, but Koby's real reason to find the One Piece was to end the era of pirates, not to become King. Luffy had been on a sort of off-site probation after he tried publicly saving Ace (to keep him out of the public's eye/to forcefully make him cool down/to make people believe he was dead), and ran into Koby. Luffy was briefed who Koby was, but couldn't care less, and became good friends with him extremely quickly.

My Predictions for Helluva Boss

Alright, guys, not gonna lie... I'm tired from HB! Protagonist-centered morality, favoritism, lack of stakes, Stolass' endless woobification, etc... It has become too much for me. Thus I've gave up any hopes for the writing improvement and refused to watch the show in the long run.

But!

This won't stop me from analysing the previous episodes that I've already watched. Furthermore, I wanna make a few predictions about what's going to happen in the next two seasons (unless those will be cancelled). Perhaps I'll repeat some of the points other critics had already made. So I'm sorry in advance for this, mates.

M&M became parents. Honestly I thought they'll save it for the end but after Sinsmas... Yeah. Anyway the truth about Millie's pregnancy is revealed (nearly to the middle of S3), she gives a birth for pro-lifers' delight and takes maternity leave becoming a background character. The child prolly is a boy and gets a better development than his mother. Apparently he's named Blitzø Junior or smth like that 👨‍👩‍👧

Moxxie's insecurity issue is showed at least once at the season. Now he isn't sure about himself being a good father/protector/role model for his son 💪

Stella's backstory turns out like the "she was born evil so don't you dare to sympathise with her" full edition. There is no valid motivation, no intriguing conflicts, no nuances - none of that. There is only Stolass' woobification arc. So this backstory isn't about Stella. It's revolved mainly around Stolass, maybe around Andrealphus or Vassago at the least. Granted that Stella ever had a chance to receive a decent backstory for herself Vivienne would've thrown it away right in the next episode without mentioning it ever again 😭

Actually Mammon can't play the guitar 🎸 He's just too dumb and untalented for this (according to Vivienne). Don't expect an epic villain song from him. I'd be happy to be wrong about this one but my hopes are dead

Yes, okay, so I’mma mark this as a spoiler for those who care about that, but for everyone else, here’s what that is.

So, those pictures are concept art of the climax and denouement of the Space Arc.

While I haven’t nailed down the exact events and details (since that part of the story is a while from now), but essentially this is when, through one way or another, the Triceratons have attained the last piece of the Black Hole Generator and are putting it all together to begin their intergalactic rampage.

This is quite bad, and so the turtles try to stop them. And while they do indeed succeed in detonating the generator, it’s at an incredibly high cost. Basically all of them are almost dead and all of them are injured, but thankfully ✨space technology✨ and they all live cause I can’t kill characters 💀

Raph took the most injury of the four of them and is understandably a little nervous about combat for a while afterwards. It takes them all some time to heal which they do about half the space ship and then the other half back on Earth.

So this movie took 7 years to be made and I need it to have the greatest success so we can have a sequel sooner than that because there are so many things to fix😤😤:

First there's a lot of unexplained lore, the demons: Jinu was a human turned into a demon by the big bad flames thing and Rumi is half demon because her dad was a demon we get absolutely ZERO explanation about this, was the father a human turned demon? 🤔Was it demonborn? 🤔 The other Saja boys are demonborn or demonturned ? The big bad flames thing didn't know about Rumi because he couldn't control her so that means he didn't know about her father? 🤔He couldn't control her father either? Was the father good or bad? Did he fool Rumi's mother and got her pregnant? Or were they in love? Why are they dead?🤔 Did they fight each other to death or one killed the other and the other died for other reason? Wait... Is he even dead? I mean I'll have to check but we only see the mother's tomb and I kinda assumed the father was dead... So he could be alive?😬 Also we know the mom was part of Celine group of three but I didn't catch who of the girls was her mother and we don't see the other member allegedly alive either we could have used some good old fashioned flashbacks here...😑😑😑

Another thing the other two girls also have issues about their pasts but is explained very fast and shallowly and we don't know how Celine chose them to be hunters, we know Mira is the black sheep of her family and is affected by it thinking she doesn't "belong" and same with Zoey, she feels divided because she is Korean but was raised in America so is like two different worlds to her and she is a people pleaser... Ect... The point is the same no flashbacks to explain anything at all🙄🙄🙄. Celine is also... She is very important but she is almost not there, she apparently raised Rumi, she is traumatized by Rumi's mom death, she is apparently incapable to love all Rumi because of her demon part and made her feel like a mistake... There's no retaliation about this, she doesn't appear again after having that breakdown In front of Rumi, we know nothing about her past either 🤦‍♀️🤦‍♀️

Also... Look I'm a person in love with romance and happy endings and even if this movie is so good... I still feel SCAMMED... 😭😭😭😡This isn't like Arcane or The prequel of the hunger games... I can accept bittersweet or devastating endings with those cause the who story is basically preparing you for the worst🥲🥲 but this movie vibes actually gave me the hope of a happy ending for both and it became a slap in my face...🥺🥺 I'm not recovering from this emotional damage... 🥺🥺I actually regret watching it because now I need to watch something knew to be obsessed but with a happy happy ending to forget about this... Also, he is an abused kid??? In the show?? How can you knock him down a peg for not fighting back,,, 😭 Adrien's lesson isn't that he needs to learn how to fight back, it's that Nathalie shoulda called cps sooner!!! In the movie they are much more of an estranged father-son pair than anything abusive. So obviously the back talk is much easier too. Movie!Adrien gets to go out alone and with friends unless his dad has specifically planted an enemy where he is. Show!Adrien has been beaten, mind controlled, forced to hurt Marinette, isolated and locked up, etc.- he has been TERRIFIED of his dad multiple times.

Imma rant about Ichigo and Orihime cuz your blog has waken a outrageous fire in me!! And rightfully so! I agree with literally everything you said(btw Karin and hitsugaya are endgame for me too🤭🤭)

Ichihime makes literal sense and it genuinely sucks as a ship and i don't get why the shippers are satisfied with the results. I asked my friend who he wanted to be endgame and answered Ichigo and Orihime cuz they are a better fit. LITERALLY HOW?!! I didn't go psycho on him cuz if Ichigo and Rukia ain't your cup of tea then fine. But why are people answers automatically always Ichihime?? Is it cuz they are canon??? Where the hell was the build-up for it then?! It is nothing compare to ichigo/rukia or orihime with tatsuki/uryu. Idk if Kubo was trying to punk us by pairing them up or not. I feel like he didn't plan our their relationship properly! People say it was obvious from the beginning that ichigo likes her back but i sure as hell didn't see it! Maybe i'm just salty and refused to see the signs cuz Ichiruki is the best ship( and i had a crush on ichigo since forever soooo... 😖😖) ?? I've always been a rukia and ichigo fan rather cuz they actually had the chemistry and insane connection. I'm so mad that they weren't endgame. My girl Rukia was elite why didn't Ichigo went for her and vice versa?? Don't get me started on the poems, the speechs, the way ichigo always and always thinks of rukia. Like the ingredients for the cake was perfect, why the hell would you put gasoline in there💀💀

Some people say that cuz the show is shounen and not a romance, i shouldn't be upset about ichihime ending up together and not be mad of lack of their romance. I'm not expecting ichigo and orihime to have some epic EPIC love story or anything just make it more sense for ME at least. If Ichihime was some side-ship then i wouldn't care as much, but this is the MC of the show i want to see something greater than what we received! If they were to have a love story(ya know a real one) then they should've played it out like in Fruits basket

Ichigo and orihime actually remind me alot of kyo and tohru from fruits basket. And they're all very similar to think about it! Ichigo and Kyo: the grumpy orange haired protecters that have a heart of gold. Orihime and Tohru: the loveable sunshine character that are super traumatized but still manage to keep smiling. The only difference is that Kyo and Tohru actually have the emotional moments and had the chemistry and ya know they actually TALKED and were ACTUAL FRIENDS(as in kyo didn't treat tohru like a acquaintance) before dating. But since Orihime is so much like Ichigo's dead mom, their relationship would've been like Yuki and Tohru. I know the comparison might be dumb to do cuz they are very different anime and different genre but still!! Excuse me for caring so much about that my fav ain't canon. Yes this is a shounen anime but they could've at least squeezed in a bit of the love story of the mc to show they actually care about it. I feel like orihime just exist to be his love interest and that's it! Girl had the potential to be a great character that ain't always there to be the love interest. Her becoming a housewife was insulting cuz what do you mean she ain't a robot destroying a city (i can't remember that scene from the earlier seasons but something in between those lines🤣) I do like Orihime enough but not that much cuz it's Ichigo this and Ichigo that. Like girl i get it. I wanted(and still do) him too but don't settle for being the second choice) HOMEGIRL YOU HAVE OTHER LUCKY DUCKS THAT WANNA BE WITH YOU!!

And another thing: I read somewhere that: just cuz Uryu had a crush Orihime that, that doesn't mean that Orihime should be together with him.... Okay then why can't that also imply to Ichigo and Orihime?? Like why just cuz "She'll fall for him in every lifetime" doesn't mean that he has to do the same too!! Rukia is already the queen of his heart mind you

BUT ANYWAYS!! It's a shounen after all so i shouldn't be expecting the mc to have a well-written love story and not to have high hopes of the MC love interest to be something more than that. But whatever at the end of the day they're CANON and have a kid together so all i can do is cry about it and live in fanfiction.

Not surprised your male friend would choose Ori. Typical. For dudes like him, her appearance, superficial crush on Ichigo, & the word "canon" being slapped on are enough for them, despite there not being any actual chemistry between IH. It is also a common trope in other manga/anime, so they convince themselves that it was meant to happen, but it doesn't mean it makes sense for every story, especially not in Bleach's case; it doesn't make narrative sense if they actually looked into it.

(Canon ≠ good. Just look up what went wrong in 'How I Met Your Mother' or even 'Game Of Thrones' S8).

(While on the subject, since Rukia is a much better written character than Ori, if she had a body like Ori's, & Ori like Rukia's, even less dudes would care about IH 🫢, since they never even have good arguments in favor of it that aren't the 3 things I mentioned already up top).

Ichigo & Rukia had the most chemistry in the entire manga/anime, & it baffles me when people didn't/don't (wanna) see it. I went into Bleach almost blind when I first started watching it & IR really stood out. Their bond is right in your face, playing along the border between platonic & romantic, making you wonder what exactly it is, but knowing they aren't just mere friends. In the manga, I was constantly awed & amused by how borderline romantic it came off as, despite having already watched the anime (which did not do the manga justice in many ways; and then antis claim IR was mostly anime-based, PLEASE 🙄). Kubo really wasn't playing when it came to these 2. What a freakin' troll.

Haven't watched Fruits Basket, but I can see what you mean. Grumpy & Sunshine is a fun trope, however, as you said, IH just didn't have what it takes. If Kubo had wanted to, he could have properly developed IH at some points in the manga, such as the Fullbring arc, & it wouldn't have to be anything big, as Bleach is not a romance. He could have opened the arc with those 2 already going out, like them holding hands as they head to school or something, maybe showing some flashbacks of them talking things out, comforting each other since HM to show how they got together. Instead, in those 17 months since Ichigo lost his powers & contact with Rukia, you're telling me Kubo couldn't make IH bond? Instead, Ori's still pathetically pining after him while Ichigo is still thinking of, longing for, Rukia! How am I supposed to believe IH was meant to be endgame?!

Orihime had more chemistry with other people than the man she ended up with 💀. I personally ship her with 2 other men (Ishida & Ulquiorra). She was different with them. One selflessly cared for her, had her at the forefront of his mind in her own rescue arc (unlike Ichigo), while the other challenged her, found her fascinating & wanted to learn more... Not to mention they both protected her from Ichigo a couple times in the HM arc.

She really did have potential to be a great character but it all kept going down the drain, never achieved her dreams nor goals. She kept regressing as the story went on, especially when it came to Ichigo. She was never able to encourage him nor fully support him & was usually a complete damsel in his presence (he even seemed annoyed by her during the Ywach fight, which mind u, she was only there cuz there was no one else left & Ichigo had no choice?). She was more interesting whenever she wasn't around him. All her best moments were when she wasn't thinking about him. Saving Tatsuki? Bonding with Ishida in SS, standing in front of him to protect him in the Fullbring arc? Bonding with Ulquiorra (the only good thing she did the whole HM arc)? She could've done more in HM but didn't. In TYBW, she didn't do anything special, couldn't even encourage Ichigo & was treated like a ragdoll by Ywach. This is how Kubo wanted us to remember her. She was mostly reduced to fanservice by the end (and she's still not as popular as Matsumoto or Yoruichi in that department 💀). I sometimes think he didn't like her all that much with how he treated her character...

While watching the anime, I seriously had been hoping she'd get over Ichigo in the SS arc when she wistfully said Rukia was a very special person to him who changed his world (oh, boy, was I in for disappointment). Right off the bat, there was nothing interesting/exciting about her interactions with Ichigo (I was shipping her with Ishida by this point). He was just so blasé with her, I almost felt bad for her & it only kept getting worse. I then hoped she'd finally get over him after the traumatic experience at the dome in HM, but her ongoing silly crush made my eyes roll & lose hope in it. LIKE GIRL, HE'S HUNG UP ON ANOTHER GIRL, & U SHOULD'VE STOPPED PUTTING HIM ON A PEDESTAL BY NOW; HE'S NO PRINCE CHARMING & ESPECIALLY NOT FOR U WHEN HE BARELY GAVE U A SECOND THOUGHT IN UR OWN RESCUE ARC & ALMOST GOT U KILLED LIKE 3 TIMES & U HAD TO GET SAVED BY ULQUIORRA & ISHIDA, LIKE-

Orihime doesn't have anything in common with Masaki other than maybe their appearance (which imo, Masaki looks more like short-haired Matsumoto anyway?). Besides the cheerful part, their personalities are very different. Masaki was more like Rukia: brave, strong, selfless, teasing & annoying Isshin/Ichigo, etc... IR has actual dynamic parallels with IsshiMasa in the narrative... Kubo just copied IR moments, especially considering he wrote as he went... So, don't be fooled by those morons who go by appearance alone & even those weird lines in one of the novels (Oedipus complex anyone?) instead of the legitimate parallels between IR & IM shown in the manga, such as these:

What was going thru Kubo's head if he supposedly "intended" for IH to happen? Ichigo & Ori had more chemistry with other characters than with each other. Kubo went about this all wrong. Bleach not being a romance is no excuse for shoddily pairing up characters in the end. In a few scenes scattered throughout the manga, he could've implied them. Every time they interacted, their relationship should've progressed somehow. And he actually did this with IchiRuki. (In regards to Naruto, for example, Kishimoto at least admitted he didn't put enough effort into his ships by saying romance was not his forte & he's not good at writing female characters, but at least most of the ships made sense & esp NaruHina had actual good moments scattered throughout the manga...).

Sigh, I've said this before, but why can't more battle shounens be like Fairy Tail when it comes to developing the ships throughout the story? There'd be less drama. Even Gintama did a better job at developing the main ships, lol, that if they became canon, hardly anyone would've been surprised (they were somewhat implied if u squint, tho 🤪).

There are theories Kubo wanted to spite Shounen Jump for their treatment over the years so he ended things this way (and maybe to spite the fans too, since his manga sales had been on the decline for years). Ever heard of the "choosing unhappiness" theories? Basically, remember that Ywach said he'd come back at Ichigo's happiest moment? Well, he didn't come back at Ichigo's wedding with Ori, not even at the birth of his son. He came back when Ichigo reunited with RUKIA after 10 years.

So what could this be telling us? That Ichigo chose to be unhappy by not getting with the one person who made him the happiest. Rukia gave him that push by choosing unhappiness first (since she knew Ichigo couldn't make the first attempt to) & married Renji, who in turn, also gave Ichigo that push to go for Ori. IR chose unhappiness to defeat Ywach. Could this actually be what Urahara meant when he said he'd leave everything to "Kurosaki-san & Kuchiki-san" after his defeat in TYBW?! (we deserved the IR tag-team we never got in the final fight, screw Kubo)

One could also say his friends chose unhappiness to help too? Ishida becoming a doctor he'd never expressed interest in & seeming isolated from the friend group (maybe not agreeing with the farce they're all in), Chad becoming a boxer instead of using his fists to protect, Ori marrying a man who doesn't love her & she knows never will, Renji marrying a woman who doesn't love him & never will (and whom I think he doesn't love either? My view on that here)... Isshin is nowhere in sight, could it be he also doesn't wanna be a part of this farce in which his own son chose to marry a woman he doesn't love?

Still, everything about this ending is so wrong, makes no sense, a bunch of retcons too. Heck, remember the rebuilding of Sokyoku Hill in SS? Made Ichigo destroying it meaningless 🙄.

Anyway, I didn't mean for this post to be too long. There's so much to rant about lol. There's also so much to make fun of 👀. As I said in this post, IH was never popular & never will be. Kubo himself can't bring himself to give them content & his affiliates (like Shounen Jump, Studio Pierrot, etc.) can't be bothered either, as IH doesn't sell. Canon for almost 10 years & still no official couple/family arts nor merch 😂. If they end up getting thrown a bone in the future, the fact it took them that long would still be laughable.

In the end, it's best to ignore canon, its fans, & engage with what you like. It also doesn't hurt to sometimes make fun of Bleach's failures~ Kubo has made it so easy, can you blame us? 🤷‍♀️
