thinking abt thoschei but with 14

thinking abt the Master showing up on 14's doorstep one day with tears in his eyes and begging for a new start. he's so tired of being opposing forces. he's so tired of hurting each other. he wants to see the stars with them. finally.

besides... it's not even supposed to be alive right now. it should still be a tooth. but it isn't. because here it is. and yeah, they both reason, that's totally a valid reason to start living together for the first time since they were kids. because one of them is No Longer Stuck In A Tooth and they're both pretty much retired, honestly.

thinking abt them getting used to each other again. they didn't exactly separate on friendly terms. but being stuck in someone's mouth for years and suddenly having a relaxed existence kind of makes you forgive and (mostly) forget. the Master doesn't really know what to do with himself on Earth. what is there to do around here? break things? read? sit in silence?

thinking abt the Doctor and the Master trying to learn to skate (with Donna and Rose laughing at the both of them the entire time). the Doctor and the Master scaling a big ol tree in the middle of the woods and shouting from the top of it because yeah, that sounds like a totally normal pastime! it was surprisingly fun! the Doctor realizing they can keep their partner (boyfriend? husband?? joyfriend???) entertained rather easily with one of those cheap plastic easter eggs that you fill with candy. according to it, snapping it open feels like breaking something.

which is only mildly concerning.

thinking abt Donna giving the Doctor a picnic hamper and them immediately taking the Master out to Somewhere In Space to just sit and look at the stars and eat. the Doctor explains that it's called a "picnic date" and they're supposed to be very romantic indeed. the Master just flings a spoonful of potato salad at them and cackles as he himself is whacked with a dinner roll.

"I said this was supposed to be romantic, love!" the Doctor shouts, flopping down onto his back and laughing like a fool. "love?" the Master asks, "do you call me that now?" the Doctor just shrugs. "I suppose I do now, yeah." the Master lays down next to them and mumbles, "I'm still fond of Koschei."

and just like that the Doctor melts into a fucking puddle as they roll onto their side and kiss the Master while it complains about getting salad cream on its face. they're just humming "Koschei. my Koschei," and nuzzling into its hair for a few minutes before the Master tucks itself into the Doctor's side and purring (yes, it can purr), "Theta... missed this. missed you."

thinking abt the two of them cuddling in the doorway of the TARDIS in the middle of space with pink-purple-blue galaxies swirling just beyond the walls of the blue box and splitting a takeout container of chips.

Thank god my prof moved the deadline cause ain't no way can I finish an animation by tonight ajskaidlsk anyways, since the deadline got moved I decided to take a break from it and draw some zk :>> happy zutara week!!

"Manhood is fundamentally shaped by the patriarchy and cannot be separated from it." What a sad view to have of gender, and one that directly harms trans men and mascs.

Do you realize how close that is to what TERFs believe? I’ve encountered so many of them that go off about how gender is inextricable from patriarchy, only existing to oppress women. That's where the term "gender critical" comes from. They think gender should be abolished entirely instead instead of preserving what brings people comfort and euphoria. They see trans people transitioning as inherently upholding patriarchy, including believing that trans men are just oppressed girls betraying their sisters by trying to move up in the gender hierarchy.

Gender has existed without patriarchy and it will again. I'm sorry to tell you this, but by saying the two are inextricable you are letting colonizers win. My ancestors lived in a matriarchy before being colonized by Spain and inundated with Catholicism--yet we still had gender roles, ones in which women were respected and had power. We certainly were not unique for that.

What happened to "smash the patriarchy"? Please don't just accept that this is the way of the world, that to be a woman means to be a victim and to be a man means to be an oppressor. My masculinity is queer, not gender-conforming. I resist the patriarchy by my very existence, as do other trans men and mascs. If you want to be inclusive and supportive of all trans people, you're going to have to expand your view of gender beyond what the patriarchy has taught you.

Thinking a lot about how in One Piece there's a continuing theme of self sacrifice that often doesn't meet its end (I won't say always because there are some characters who have eaten shit for a cause). But I just think about how easy it would be to just accept their sacrifice but the narrative won't allow that. Robin, Zoro, Sanji, Jinbe, they've all tried to give their life for the sake of others but they can't because they really don't have to. I think about Robin's "I want to live" regularly. It's so easy to die for someone but it's so much harder to live for them. And living for them gives back so much more than dying for them does. Dying is just a moment but living lets you have more moments and more time to show how much you care and lets you do so much for others. I feel like a lot of other shonen show dying as one of the bravest things you can do but One Piece is so different because it shows you that living is actually the bravest thing.

Okay if you haven't yet, and you have Netflix/Paramount+, consider giving "School Spirits" a chance.

It looks like a silly little cheesy teenage ghosts show, I put it on for background noise, and then got totally engrossed in the mystery. It's VERY well written, very well filmed, the mystery was GREAT and the payoff at the end is also great.

One of the things majorly lacking in shows I've recently tried to watch is that they try to do a twist/reveal at the end that comes out of nowhere. They don't want you to guess what they're doing. This show doesn't do that. This show wants you to guess. They give you seven different mysteries and enough clues to guess (most of) what is going on, so that when you get the final puzzle piece to any given mystery, it feels GREAT.

The story premise is this: a teenager in hs wakes up as a ghost in the hs, and doesn't remember how she died, and with the help of the other ghosts, tries to solve the mystery of her own death.

Simple premise. BEAUTIFULLY executed. Not all of the questions that arise get answered, but the main one (what she doesn't remember) gets solved by the end of the season, leaving the "why/how and what comes next" to be carried to the next season. It does a cliffhanger RIGHT. But now I desperately want to see the second season (which I believe has been approved, so it's a matter of waiting).

So pretty please, if you're looking for something to do and a great, engaging lil mystery to watch, consider! School Spirits!!
