You had met Benedict at a social event this past season and the two of you got on very well, any time you saw each other in passing you had to stop and make conversation. You felt at ease with him, he was so down to Earth unlike most of the uptight socialites of the city. You were very fond of him in general and it seemed he felt the same about you. Not to mention the fact you were also very attracted to him. He often spoke to you about his art and his passion for finding the beauty in life, he showed you his work book of sketches, all of random things he found beautiful even if most people don't.

Today on a casual stroll in the park, Benedict casually asked you if you would like to be the subject of one of his paintings, you had never thought of modeling before but it intrigued you. You were always curious on how people viewed you and this would show you his perspective of you, so you agreed. He brought you back to his studio and showed you some of paintings he had hanging around by artists that inspired him, then he lead you over to the center of the room where he had a large sheet of white paper spread across the floor. You assumed it was to protect his floors from any paint drippings but you were quite wrong.

"This is our canvas for today, my lady" Benedict smiles

You chuckle and furrow your brows a bit "I'm sorry what? Are you going to draw a life size version of me?"

"No, dear" he laughs softly "I'm going to paint with you. I want to use your body as a brush, if that's okay with you of course" he adds that last part in quickly to reassure you can pull out at any time. There's a sparkle in his eyes as he explains how he wants to cover your nude bodies in paint and roll around making an abstract design. "So, what do you say?" His voice is filled with hope, he desperately wants you to say yes.

You think about his offer for a moment, the thought of being naked with him excites you but also makes you very nervous. You have only known him a short amount of time but you trust him a lot, you nod with a soft smile "okay, I'm in."

"Excellent" he grins and claps his hands together once "you can get undressed while I prepare the paints." he gives you a comforting smile then turns around and walks to the back of his studio where he keeps his paint. You slowly start to undress, you feel the butterflies in your stomach intensifying as you shed each piece of clothing. Finally naked, you fold your clothes neatly and set them on a small sofa nearby. The window of the studio is cracked out letting in a soft breeze, you feel goosebumps grow on your bare skin and your nipples become erect.

A few moments later, Benedict came back carrying a tray with small cans full of paint "alright here we are-" he stops dead in his tracks when he sees you, his eyes wide in surprise as he takes all of you in "wow... you're absolutely breathtaking" his voice is so soft it's almost a whisper

You chuckle nervously, you feel your whole body start to heat up "um, thank you, sir" you wrap your arms around your body, very aware of how exposed you are. He steps closer to you and sets the tray on a small table, he picks up a can filled with red paint and holds it up to you.

"May I?" He asks for permission, you nod slightly giving him full access to your body. He dips two fingers into the paint and slowly runs them along your collar bone, it slowly starts to drip down your front as your body temperature melts the paint. He works his way down your body, streaking the red all over you, his fingertips ever so slightly graze your nipples sending a shiver down your spine. "Beautiful" he whispers softly before setting the paint canister down and began to strip his clothes off.

You watched him closely as each article of clothing flew from his body leaving him bare in front of you. He gripped your arm softly and turned you around, he slowly poured some of the paint down your back letting it cascade down your back. He presses himself against your back slightly, you can feel his breath tickling your neck as he began to place soft hot kisses along the side. He used one hand to rub the red all over your back, a gasp caught in your throat as his larges hands rubbed soft circles on your ass.

When he finished he turned you around to face him, he picked up a can of blue paint and handed it to you "now you do me" his voice soft but laced with something more sensual. You take the can and start to smear blue all over his body, trying desperately to avoid his intimate areas as best as possible even if it was staring right at you. Once he was blue from the neck down he gently took your hand and brought you down to the paper on the floor. "Lay back, darling," he instructed playfully "we're gonna roll around a bit" he chuckles before rolling on top of you, his arms wrapped around your body as he goes in for a kiss.

Things escalated quickly from there, paint began to adorn the paper as you two made love. Shades of blue and red mixed together leaving streaks of purple behind, hand prints of different colors could be seen throughout the paper. Moans filled the studio, there was also the occasional sound of paper ripping when things became too intense. When it was all said and done, Benedict framed the work and even put it up in a gallery. People always asked how he created such an abstract piece of art, he came up with a story of how he just started throwing paint at the canvas. Only you and him ever knew the truth.

i unfortunately don't have any polished art of her bc i think when i drew this, my swap au hyperfixation was starting to wane, whoops! these are just some very quick sketches of what i wanted her new thing in the swap au to be.

(i will be putting old art of her old design if you want to see it under read more pftt [unfortunately not a lot of them bc i wasn't vibing with the old role i gave her so i wasn't drawing her a lot 😔])

ok, so the thing is, i gave a bit of redd white's role to mvk. my reasoning for that is since he's the one who killed gregory (who has mia's role), he'd have to take on that role too. when characters don't have any like, "exact" foils for their roles to be swapped with, i either make them stay the same or hobble some roles together. mvk's case was the latter.

so mvk runs a private eye that's connected to the prosecutor's office (he's corrupt bc have you seen that guy) and franziska happens to be working there.

mvk also happens to be one the people responsible for covering up the details about mia's death.

i wanted to change franziska's job from my first version of her bc she doesn't really have a connection to the supernatural, so i just gave her a job that works closely in the covering crimes too.

but yeah, fran has to meet gregory, and then she gets framed by redd white

and she's furious about it, of course! that fool works under her father, how dare he put the blame on her!

with how fran is supposedly cooperating with gregory, i think mvk would've really wanted her to catch the fall even with how much he cares about his daughter. he's an 'end justifies the means' kind of guy.

i don't think fran realizes until swap!jfa that it was her father who purposely tried to frame her and the one who ordered to kill gregory.

i think she'd feel really torn by that and the guilt with how miles defended her before knowing all that would've ate her up (the fact that gregory is dead, no spirit channeling or anything makes this more fucked up for them i think agfhhjh)

however, i still haven't figured out why franziska would agree to talk to gregory if he's investigating mia's death, and i'm not quite sure why gregory would've been investigating mia's death in the first place bc unlike mia in the regular verse, he'd have no connections to her case at least

(that would probably require some aai duology knowledge that i do not have right now ASKSKS)

my brain isn't fully working right now so i can't fully ramble on about her design, but i did think it was important to make her dress eccentric; and i know that everyone dresses eccentric in aa, but particularly that one point in turnabout sisters where april may should've remembered maya bc she dressed weird? i wanted the same for franziska ASKSKS roast her old-timey gothic looking ass!!!!!

and from my recent drawing of her, i think if i were to draw like, a polished ref for her, i would like to show the fact that her make-up is severe. again, 'eccentric' or whatever pftt

i originally had her be like a witch, some sort of seer who could communicate with the dead through her crystal ball. scrapped that and changed it bc it was just not digging my dudes asdghd a shame tho bc i'm rather fond of her big-ass veil witch hat thingy

Pallette challenge? I don't know if I am doing this right but #86 with Miraculous Ladybug looks like good colors for either Viperhound or Noirhound or their civilian counterparts (luka/sabrina or adrien/sabrina)

Ngl, I struggled with this palette. A lot. And I'm not 100% happy with how it turned out, but by this point I have fought with it for a couple of hours and I am throwing in the towel.

So.......I ended up picking a second palette to color it with (#80, Derezzed), 'cause I absolutely adored the sketch and wanted to have at least one version of it that I was pleased with the final result of.

Today marks three years of Dianthus existing! I made my first concept sketches for her on 11/20/23 💖 this also means it's been three years of Diathesterius! I sometimes use the date I uploaded Dia to toyhouse, the 21st, as the anniversary date just in case I'm late... but I managed to finish colouring this <3 I had actually wanted to do something for this earlier in the month, I even made some very elaborate plans for it... but it ended up not happening! Which is okay 💞 but I still wanted to draw a little wedding piece... so I did! I'll make something fancier when I have more time later on... 💝 I used my own handwriting here for authenticity, but at some point... I'd like to be able to rewrite in Greek for More authenticity <3 Uncropped version (and long rambling post) under the cut 💕 I get a little Vulnerable so don't read it if you're gonna be mean or else I'll like Get You or something

I've made posts in the past talking about why Theseus and Asterius mean so much to me, but I don't think I've made one on why Dianthus herself means so much to me.. so for her own third year anniversary, I'll do that here! before I begin...! the fruit in dia's hair here are from the strawberry tree, arbutus unedo. I associate the tree and its fruit with Theseus but... it's honestly been so long, I don't remember exactly why! Just that, for some reason, I imagine thathis childhood home had a tree of these fruit blossoming just outside his mother's room, and thus he has fond memories of it. Lady Dianthus... she who loves all things pink, actively hates celery, and still has a job at the library despite being so fogetful and clumsy... she who met Theseus and immediately became obsessed because it was the first interesting thing to happen to her- not a parent or someone she's close to, but herself! her first time feeling as if she had a true purpose. She who didn't understand Theseus' obsession with Asterius until meeting he Minotaur, and promptly decided "he's not scary? he's not scary at all! he's just a cow!" I've made sona and the likes before Dia of course, but she was the first in a long time who was truly meant to resemble me in all ways (except for the setting, of course...). I made her design simple so I would easily be able to redraw her, and gave her one of my favourite palettes pink and green and cream and gold. At first I really didn't expect to get that attached to her... I went months without drawing her after her initial creation. but the more I drew her the more I realized how much fun I was having with her...! It's funny looking back on it... originally I had a much more comedic idea for her story, and di not intend to ship her with Theseus in any serious way. It was going to be a completely one-sided love (with Dianthus taking the role of "crazed fangirl" - which she still is, in a way). I'm sure it isn't a surprise but it didn't take me long at all to start drawing ship art of them, creating artworks and writing of Theseus and Asterius was a self indulgent joy for me, so why not selfship art too? I ended up invested, of course. Using Dia I put a lot of my own feelings into a story; a sense of otherness, her loneliness, feeling lost and out of place. I had removed it later on because I felt uneasy with how vulnerable it was, but at one put I had placed one of the most traumatic events of my life into Dia's story- sometimes I think about adding it back, because I know giving her an oppurtunity to open up about it with her beloveds would be something beneficial to Me irl(!). But that's besides the point here... she's a stubborn girl, sweet but arrogant is my usual go-to descriptor for her; that's how I think of myself too, just based on what I've been told (I have a hard time thinking of myself as nice, though others always say so to me...). That may be part of why I tend to look for those features in (fictional!) lovers... something feels good to me about being able to butt heads due to this shared traits, but still coming together and making amends despite it. I do think it's a little funny that the sonas I've gotten the most attached to so far- Dianthus, and now Nerine- have some sort of theme of death with them. Dianthus is literally a ghost, and Nerine is metaphorically one (and maybe liteally, if I ever make up my mind...). Maybe that's just fitting for me, though... hmm... I'm not sure what else I want to say here... I think of Dianthus as "Me but in Hades Game / Ancient Greek context." Of course some events that happen in her life didn't happen to me, or, sometimes, I dramatize it (Dia's mother leaving her and her father to become the wife of a god was inspired by the fact that for the first few yers of my life, my parents were separated... but they always had a positive relationship with one another! Unlike Dia's parents), but she's become a big par

t of me all the same. Just as I am happy and hoping to spend many more years with Theseus and Asterius, I hope to spend many more years with her as well. i think that's all I'll write for now <3 if you read this thank you for being curious enough about me to be interested in all this 😭

I am working on the asks as I'm able (plus Eddie's main references :")) but as Fluffy has stated I'm very tired and my health is wonk. However, I am going to continue doing what I can until my workload can increase again!

So today I am sharing some sketches from maybe a month or so ago. I never really intended to stray much from anyone's current costumes, but I wanted to challenge myself to design alternate versions of some of rogues.

Going left to right:

Music Meister's outfit here was inspired by Rock Operas, especially since MM is a rogue known in canon to have multiple different outfits

Poison Ivy's alternate outfit was actually made official here! One of her inspirations in this au is Venus/Aphrodite, and for the sake of not getting blasted for being in such a state of undress, and also to make her design stand out more, I kept the sheer robe.

Harley Quinn in this au has an outfit that it pretty different, especially since it's a dress (the official design). They're not the most practical for movement, so I pondered shorts and gave her an almost floor length jester hat.

Riddlers 1 & 2

I'm not particularly fond of 1, I wanted it to look more classic but it ended up boring :/

I actually like 2 a lot. Paul Dano's Riddler from The Batman is one of his inspirations, so I wanted to design an outfit that was more practical for movement and storing gadgets/tools. I could never decide how he'd cover his face, as a mask felt out of place

All the artwork I made (so far) for the fanfic Fall For Me by @nikialexx for this year's @rsbigbang!

When we received the fanfic summaries and I saw that there's gonna be a rockstar AU, I ranked it high and was hoping for the best that I'd get it... And I got lucky, we got paired up with Niki, and I cannot even begin to express how much fun working with her has been! When I signed up for the Bang, I had no idea that I will end up being such an overachiever, but our collaboration was just too inspiring for me to stick to making only 1 picture! I'm gonna share a little backstory for all of them, also listing all the hidden easter eggs!

The banner: It was inspired by an off-screen scene (and a Hozier gif) Niki shared with me which inspired her to play with this AU to begin with! She was kind enough to let me design the look of the characters however I wanted and as I am the biggest facial hair enthusiast irl, I shamelessly drew the boys with beards, even tho it is not even once mentioned in the fic! (I aspire to be the fanartist known for drawing every male character with a beard, jsyk.) I am especially fond of Remus' nose, it just turned out so cute! Also, big thanks to Niki again for adding the extra bit about Sirius' parents coming from Vietnam, which is a very personal touch for me! It's the reason why I draw the Black family members with East Asian features, and finally it is perfectly valid in this fic's canon! 🙇🏻‍♀️

The paparazzi photo: This was my very first idea upon reading the summary of the fic, and thankfully Niki was very onboard with this too! This however turned out to be more challenging than expected, the first version was from a different angle and I really couldn't figure out the correct proportions and perspective, and the pose is harder to pull off in an anatomically correct way to begin with, so after some discussions whether it would be plausible in the fic if the paparazzi would have a room next to this balcony instead of in front, it finally clicked into place! And it is actually a real place in Madrid (the hotel and the background too)! Madrid is my ultimate favourite European city and I've spent 2 weeks working there this spring, so I could actually use my own photos as reference! I also hid a crescent moon and a star on the label of the wine bottle in the background! In the fic it is a kiss and they shouldn't be this visible, but I think I managed to convey the heat of this moment anyway. I really like how Sirius licks Remus' neck and their pleasure is obvious however subtle it is. Also because it is not an actual kiss, it has around the same level of ambiguity as the "original" semi-hidden photos would have in my opinion?

The Instagram posts: This idea came to me while reading the first draft of the fic. I've always liked social media inspired drawings, so at first I just sketched it out for fun, but then I liked it too much, so I finalized it, only to realize that I remembered incorrectly and it was not an Instagram post in the fic! Thankfully Niki was flexible enough to change the platform to Instagram in the final version to cover for my mistake! As in the fic it's Snape who takes the paparazzi photos, I referenced him in the first insta post (username). The second insta post was a last minute addition, I figured why not put the story in a "frame" this way. I wanted to draw Remus again, and I had so much fun with it, I've added a lot of easter eggs too! He is drinking wine and is a little tipsy - just as the beginning, and a lot of other times in the fic actually, haha -, he has the ring, the photo was taken in James' restaurant, and there is also Padfoot the dog, who is now bigger as a whole year has passed! Niki gave me free hand with the caption and the comments too, so I decided to really double down on the story framing idea, and have the same comments, but with a twist, emphasizing Sirius' sassiness more (the caption and the extra comment from him saying the love of his life is his dog, but i used the moon and wolf emojis so it would refer to Remus... Also Padfoot is on the picture which is a nod back to the first one when the comment said who is on the picture).

The extra sketches: Originally I didn't want to add the extra sketches, as all three were just warmup before/after working on the actual pieces, but Niki decided to include them in her fic anyways! I really enjoyed the tension of the bathroom scene, I might even clean that sketch up sometime, but the roughness somehow really fits the vibe of the scene! The guitar playing one was actually the first version of the insta post that I only drew for my own fun, before I moved to make a more direct illustration of the scene. I really like how it looks, the guitar just looks so right in Sirius' hand! The boy really is a born rockstar, haha! The balcony in the background has the same pattern as the hotel in Madrid, however it really is just a coincidence. And how could I have resisted drawing Sirius with baby Padfoot?

The promo pic: I had the basis of this picture since working on the banner, but I actually only finished it recently. My aim was to make it look like an actual promo, influencer style (that's why the text is so cringy)! I've also came up with the idea of drawing the rockstar version of Sirius with a cross earring while working on these pictures, which I liked to much that I draw every version of him with it now 😆 It's like 95% of aesthetic and 5% reference to his godfather status (which makes sense only in my native language, cause the word for godfather is mirror translated as cross-father).

The rockband pic and the concert pic: I'm gonna list them here too, because they are both connected to the fic! Neither of them is a direct illustration, but they were inspired by the conversations I had with Niki in the meantime! The concert pic is actually a variation for the situation I tried to convey with the banner!

TLDR; (this became so long again, jeez) I really enjoyed working on all of these pictures, and I am sure that I will definitely create more! (The R/J/S threesome is just too tempting!!) It was really the most prosperous of collaborations, and it was so nice to get to know Niki too! I am really grateful for the opportunity to join the Bang, in my case it really delivered all the benefits: engaging more in this fandom, my creative drive skyrocketing and getting to know a lot of new people! Thanks to everyone involved, really!

Brad has so many different versions and variations that this is going to be a bit of a mess.

Nickname: The Rad Lad. The Coolest Dude. Hot Stuff. Any variation of that. Don't entertain him on this. Gender: Male Star Sign: Scorpio/The Star Gazer in Pathfinder Height: 5'7" Orientation: Pansexual. Fire consumes all. Nationality/Ethnicity: Medina Mudii'a (the plane of fire capital)/Vourinoi (desert elves) Naari (fire elemental descendant) [as of my most recent time I played him] Fave Fruit: Jackfruit/Nangka! The difficulty of getting them particularly keeps it interesting for him. Fave Season: Summer! Comfy temperature and everyone's out to have fun. Fave Flower: He tries to tell you, but he realises he doesn't actually know what they're called. He shows you some sketches he made instead. It looks like bellflowers. (based off of the version of Brad who was a tailor, he spent a lot of time in parks and gardens getting inspiration from plants, but he didn't necessarily know much about them. For other versions of Brad, they don't think about flowers enough to have a favourite.) Fave Scent: Charcoal, roasted foods, sandalwood, burning flesh Coffee, Tea, or HC: Definitely coffee. He even tends to keep a coffee pot and beans on him for impromptu coffee making between aventures. Average Hours of Sleep: He actually likes being well rested, so he likes having 8-10 hours. Well, I don't have a very solid design for either of them, so you're free to interpret their costumes however you like.

I mean I absolutely adore @dumbass---tm's version of Scott for his hero costume. But that's not the costume he wears in the fics up until now, since he hasn't made a transition to vigilanteism yet. All I have figured out is that it probably resembles Rivendellian attire, so there's probably a decent amount of fur involved. I also know that he wears darker colors like black and navy blue instead of white and light blue.

Scott does also have shoulder length hair in pretty much all of my aus so you ca go ahead and assume that.

@deyablossom did a couple drawings as well, and when I picture Jimmy, that's pretty much how I imagine him. Like- that's his canon design, I have no additional notes. Though one detail I'm particularly fond of that doesn't appear in either of these (wonderful) artists' sketches is that Jimmy has a bronze/copper mask that covers the top half of his face, which is meant to resemble the codfather head. So do with that as you will.

I love Deya's design for Scott as well, but also I really like the other one because... titty window.

I am a simple woman.

But again, you can take as many artistic liberties with their costumes as you would like. I'm not very strict about these sorts of things.

If you're looking for more civilian stuff, though, these designs, also by @/dumbass are pretty good.

Whatever the fanartists draw is canon, basically haha.

I haven’t been to a cinema since Bohemian Rhapsody was out. I’m not particularly interested in films.

Pisces, though only just as it begins on my birthday. In Chinese astrology I’m a snake. I share my birthday with (among others) eighteenth century actor David Garrick, Anthony Stewart Head and the late Dame Gillian Lynne. Edward VI was crowned on that day in 1547 and Tchaikovsky premiered Swan Lake in 1877.

Do you go by your full name or a nick-name?

I’ve never been known by a nickname though some people have shortened it, such as my grandparents and a couple of managers at work; they're the only people I've allowed to do that as I don’t really like it being shortened unless I decide to do it myself. I’m always called by my full name within my immediate family, though my mother does have a tendency to call my sister and I pretty much anything that comes into her head. The one that’s stuck over the years is ‘Pooh’, as in Winnie The, because it rhymes with the shortened version of my name.

How tall are you?

5'3”, to my eternal chagrin as almost everyone in the family is taller than me.

Are you in a relationship? If not, who is your crush if you have one?

Nope, and no one. I assume from the latter that we’re referring to real life rather than the realms of fantasy. To be honest I can’t really see myself as part of a couple; I’ve been on my own too long and I’m pretty solitary by nature.

Did you grow up to become what you wanted to be when you were a child?

To my lasting regret I’ve never had a goal in mind and still have no idea what I'm doing with my life.

If you draw/write/create in any way, what's your favourite picture/line/etc. from something you created this year?

I've written so much this year (just under 300K words - eek!) I doubt I could pick one line! As for art, I'm very fond of this Bush sketch from earlier in the year; for once I managed to get the expression and head tilt right:

Dogs or cats?

In the past I would always have said dogs, but just lately I’ve found myself coming round to cats after previously having been quite anti. Dogs probably still win out, though.

What's something you're good at vs. something you're bad at?

I'm very good at judging distances, but I can't whistle to save my life.

What's something you'd like to create content for?

I don’t really think I would. I’ve been asked on the odd occasion if things of mine can be included in zines but I’ve never accepted.

What's something you're currently obsessed with?

My eighteenth century fixation is still going strong after more than thirty years, and my Hornblower phase mark II hasn’t come to an end yet.

What's something that you were excited about that turned out to be disappointing this year?

I haven't really had anything to get excited about for a long time. It was annoying that the Christmas event at Mottifont Abbey was so busy first thing on a Monday morning; that was disappointing, I suppose.

What's a hidden talent of yours?

It's not a talent as such but I have a great facility for remembering lines from comedy shows, though I wouldn't exactly call it hidden as I know I have an annoying tendency to quote them all the time. I actually can't think of anything I'd regard as a 'hidden talent'.

Are you religious?

For many years I would have immediately described myself as an atheist but as I get older I find myself less sure and am now agnostic. I’ve started to find the religious aspect of Christmas comforting, something that I think probably started during the pandemic, though I wouldn’t call myself a believer in any real sense.

What's something you wish to have at this moment?

Just at this minute, I would dearly love the tension headache that has been plaguing me for weeks to leave me alone. In the long term, a job, and preferably one I actually enjoy doing after spending far too long in a position I came to detest.

Updates

I recently reached 3,000 followers on REALITY - a Vtubing (streaming with an anime avatar) app! It makes me really happy because I've been working really hard on Vtubing, singing, and illustrating each day. I've only been doing doodles and outlines of my art because I don't want to ruin a good sketch with bad digital art skills, so once I finish the ones I plan on drawing for my yearly goal. I'm going to grind a bit of art tutorials and see if I can improve!

Mini Book Reviews

I had planned on reading more, but since I've been pushing myself a lot recently, I have been falling asleep while reading.

The Ebony Tower - John Fowles 

One of my favorite authors, his prose is brilliant and beautiful and has a classic literary quality that not many modern books do. The Ebony Tower is a novella collection. As many great artists do, there is a continuation of Fowles's authorial fixations: twins, Greece, Machiavellian elites, beautiful yet troubled women, and Jungian archetypes. "Poor Koko" story was one of my favorites, it reminded me of a South Korean short film called "Cut" (dir. Park Chan-wook of Oldboy fame), both have a wealthy man's estate broken into and are psychologically tormented rather than robbed. In "Poor Koko", the burglar seems to try to torment the protagonist on account of his wealth, whereas in "Cut", the criminal is a deranged stagehand who is envious that the protagonist got a role in the film that they're working on.

"The Enigma" is another great story about a man who goes missing mysteriously with no prior motive and has a seemingly spotless reputation. The detective questions the victim's family, associates, and is only able to get a grain of truth from the man's son's one-time fling (someone completely unrelated to his personal life). It was interesting psychological galavant, it was difficult to tell if they were acting shading on behalf of the disappearance or because of an inflated sense of pride, like the wife completely denying the possibility of an affair and the children trying to uphold their father's reputation. It was interesting! The last tale that I liked was "Cloud", a surreal bourgeois picnic drinking from the hands of eternal life; a social soliloquy of sheer beauty and melancholy.

The Cat Who Saved Books - Sōsuke Natsukawa

This book reads like an anecdotal children's tale, very similar to "The Little Prince" (Antoine de Saint-Exupéry) in a sense that the young protagonist goes to avant-garde locations to help protect the integrity of literature. The main character is a hikikomori (in Japanese culture, it is a term used for someone who socially isolates themselves) and after the death of his grandfather, he helps with the business and skips class to read books all day. When a mysterious talking-cat appears, claiming that the boy is the shop's new proprietor, he is whisked away to alternate realities which people try to pervert the sanctity of reading.

I grew of with book-centric fantasy stories like "Wishbone", "Reading Rainbow", and "The Pagemaster" so I have a specific, nostalgic fondness for these kind of stories. While the narrative could be seen as a bit preachy at times, I like stories with a kind of youthful idealism. Like for example, many people think that the TV anime version of "Galaxy Express 999" was too hammer-you-over-the-head with the moral lessons, but I like things like that, perhaps it's because of my upbringing in a very strictly Christian household. 

I think the sentiment that the cat speaks when he says that that every human being is born with empathy may not be true all of the time, but unless a person has a brain condition (i.e. sociopathy and psychopathy), I think that most children are born with a strong sense of compassion and empathy. Believing that empathy is the natural mode of feeling makes a healthier society, rather that claiming that being an "empath" is a special ability. I think it depends on how much of your childhood memories you can retain before the world hurts you. Overall, a very refreshing and simple read.

Torture Princess, Vol. 7 - Keishi Ayasato (warning: spoilers)

Keishi Ayasato does it again with his brilliant story-telling abilities! The intrigue is heightened after two of the main triad of main characters (Kaito and Hina) sacrifice their lives to save the world and Elizabeth is left in the aftermath to carry the torch. This volume was exciting from beginning to end with Ayasato's unusually beautiful light novel prose! Jeanne and Izabella confess their love to one another, most anime-related series only tease same-sex relationships like these, so I was shocked when it became fully canon. A new "torture princess" is introduced ("Alice") who is even more twisted than Elizabeth's former rival, Jeanne, and has a "Made in Abyss"-like relationship with her papa, Carroll, a mysterious magician with a plague doctor mask!

Cat Observations

Kenma plays fetch like a puppy-dog... - He particularly likes doing this with plastic straws and a small bunny plushie that we have, but little Ken will bring his toys up on the bed and struts around with them in his teeth. And if you throw them, he'll chase after them and bring them back onto the bad to show-off some more! Since he loves plastic straws, we have to be careful to have full drinks out in the open or he will pull the straw out and spill the drink.

Kenma makes a boulder-like position when he's doing something bad... - If Ken-Ken is somewhere he knows he's not supposed to be, he goes into a corner and hardens his body in a circular shape, so that it's harder to pick him up. He has also learned how to open doors if they're not shut firmly enough.

Both kittens pull screws out of furniture and pushpins out of walls... - I don't know if it's normal, I only found one result online but... the cats will pull furniture screws and pushpins out of things so that they can play with them. Might be a concern in the future, but we've stayed vigilant with securing things.

Gratitude Segment

Here is where I talk about my personal life a bit, for my entire life I have had a condition bordering on agoraphobia because of an extreme phobia that I have, that prevents me from going to many places. It has been difficult for me because I am naturally an extrovert but I have had trouble socializing because of my crippling phobia, it was even difficult for me to force myself to go to school at times because of the fear that I would see something that would cause a panic attack. To lessen the anxiety, I would always go to familiar places and avoided areas that weren't confirmed as safe beforehand. I went to therapy every month for over ten years, but that only helped very minimally. I have had this phobia since I was four-years-old, due to a traumatic event.

Vtubing has been a godsend to me in many ways, because it combines my love of anime and allows me to socialize in a place where I don't feel petrified or feel that I have to look around to make sure that said area is safe. I wanted to express my gratitude for Vtubing and REALITY, a platform where I can stream with a cute avatar for free. I appreciate it more than words could ever express!

This is my personal (fannish) tumblr for all my fandoms. I reblog other's posts sometimes but mostly I use this tumblr to post my own art and answer asks/fangirl. I am in my damn 30s, so minors be wary (asks about rated g works from minors are okay)

Why is some of your older fanart not posted here?

Weell here's the thing. My old tumblr josiemus-prime was flagged to death because of the nsfw art I'd posted on it. I'm trying not to let that happen to this one (hence the censoring of some art with links to the uncensored versions on ao3). In other cases… I'm just not very fond of some of my old art and for pure ~aesthetic~ reasons I don't want them here (but it's still viewable there!).

Can you restore the link to [missing fanart] on ao3?

Sadly, some of my old art links are dead and gone forever. But I didn't delete them! I have never purposefully deleted any fanart, the only reason they're gone is that I lost the original files, and hosted the images on sites that were unreliable or now defunct (like imageshack or tinypic). I am going to try to redraw some of them eventually though! I hate seeing the dead links :(

Could you help me find [fic example]?

Why is some of your fic under another name?

I made thewordsleep as a way to try out other fandoms, but I'm happy with those fics so I've listed them here. I haven't moved them all over to my main account because I'm told people are subscribed to that profile in case I update there.

Why haven't you answered my ask/message?

I'm so sorry! I definitely try to answer them all, but my inbox gets flooded with bots and tumblr eats old asks sometimes bc I'm bad at getting back to people in a timely manner. If you can be bothered, you can send duplicates of the same message so I can notice it faster ;_; sorry again, I want to be friend.

What programs/hardware do you use for your fanworks?

I use Adobe Photoshop 2020 and I've started using Krita for sketching (which is completely free to use). I draw using a Intous Wacom, and I use Sony Vegas 16.0 for vidding. My art and texture resources can be found right here, under resources.

In regards to using my fanworks as prompts or inspiration for fic, vid cons, or anything else:

I kept going back and forth on whether to make a design for The Narrator, the appeal was definitely there but it felt very daunting.

It could of been because of all the different routes you could take with a character like this. I sketched up 3 different versions, an eldritch horror (that honestly wouldn't be very fun to draw often), a human looking one (much more my comfort zone but still felt a little boring), and a humanoid with a monitor head.

I kept going back to the monitor head when thinking of ideas and utility. I'm still fond of the disembodied voice/eldritch horror idea, and so I think this version of him is still just that. This body is merely a tool to use when he sees fit.

Jago is a very energetic boy, he's always doing something, be it playing or play-fighting with his friends, watching the fisherman haul their catch, swimming with the turtles, climbing the cliffs to steal bird eggs for a quick meal or getting his fingers clamped by crabs. He collects little childhood bruises!

He's always trying to accompany Vygo in his daily tasks. He idolizes his dad and wants his horns to grow exactly like Vygo's, not bigger nor smaller, just like his. He's letting his hair grow so he can tie it up like Vygo.

He adores his mother, and loves to sleep on a pile of her hair. He likes to bring her gifts every evening, be it a pretty sea flower, conch, shark tooth or bird feather. He likes to steal food from their kitchen to eat or feed sealife, but doesn't like when Indrys catches him in the act and punishes him by making him do homely chores or help her prepare dishes!

Whaling is a big part of Dunvir lifestyle. A successful whale hunt is enough to keep the village fed for many moons. He dreams of going into a whale hunting with Vygo and the other adults, but he's still very young, and it's too dangerous for him.

Oh my sweet boy Jago! I have a mighty need to draw the family's life by the ocean now.

It makes it so much harder to know he may either never live all of this or die before he can fulfill his dreams, but suffering is good. XD
